Belgian health authorities remind pet owners to pay attention to hygiene, avoid close contact with pets, remember to wash hands and do not let pets lick their faces. (Reuters)

Researchers at the Liege Veterinary Institute in Belgium have found that a pet cat was infected with COVID-19 (covid, in short) by its owner.

AFP reported that Andre, a Belgian government doctor, said that close contact between animals and people diagnosed with covid may be infected, but he stressed that this was an "isolated case."

He said there was no evidence that the animals in the home would pass the virus to the owner or other pets.

Earlier, Hong Kong tested 17 dogs and 8 cats who lived with those infected with covid, and two of them tested positive.

Andre strongly recommends that pet owners pay attention to hygiene when contacting pets, "Avoid close contact with pets ... wash hands after contacting pets, and do not let animals lick your face."

Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province set up barriers and refused to allow Hubei vehicles to enter the city on 27 March 2020. On the morning of that day, clashes broke out between the police on both sides, and a large number of people joined the melee.

Except for Wuhan City, Hubei Province, other cities will lift the blockade on March 25. Hubei people can go to other provinces with a health certificate.

It is reported Hubei people with health certificates tried to enter Jiujiang City, Jiangxi via the Yangtze River Bridge, and were blocked by Jiangxi police. Police in Jiangxi and Hubei immediately quarreled and fought in Hubei, and a large number of special police arrived to reinforce the scene.

Subsequently, a large number of people joined the confrontation. Some people from Hubei went to the Jiujiang Yangtze River Bridge at the border of the two provinces, shouting slogans and approaching the defense line of Jiangxi police.

People in Hubei displayed banners, questioned Jiangxi police “Why stopped us in Hubei?” And angrily overturned several Jiangxi police cars and besieged the Jiangxi police.

Hubei citizens broke through the blockade and arrived at the Jiangxi Jiujiang Bridge Police Station, demanding an apology from Jiujiang Police.

[Jiujiang, apologize! Jiujiang, apologize! ]

According to information obtained by Radio Free Asia, Jiangxi Public Security has been robbed of interphones, law enforcement devices and other equipment, and at least 5 Jiangxi Public Security and auxiliary police have been hospitalized. The injuries and losses on the Hubei side are unclear.

Experts point out that the anger of Hubei people has accumulated for many days. Since the outbreak, although officials have declared "Hubei come on," in fact, they have brutally blocked and blocked people in Hubei.

Hu Ping said, "The big background is very clear, that is, the dispute of regional discrimination and anti-regional discrimination. Because Hubei people have been extremely discriminated against for more than two months. Now Hubei people feel that their sentence has expired and they should not be discriminated against again. But people in other provinces are still uneasy and still have to discriminate. So there is conflict. "

Experts point out that another source of the conflict is that local officials of the Communist Party of China know that provinces are under political pressure and are generally creating "zero growth" in COVID-19 cases, so they do not believe that Hubei officials have declared "zero additions" for consecutive days.

Lai Jianping remarked, "Although the report of the epidemic may come from the health commission and from a central level agency, the courts and the wild in Jiangxi are still unbelieving to protect themselves, which shows that the government's credibility is extremely low."

At present, Beijing still adopts strict restrictions on returnees from Hubei, and requires that all returnees be quarantined and inspected for 14 days at their own expense. But when people from Hubei travel to other provinces and cities, they do not require compulsory isolation for 14 days. This move is believed to reflect the double standards of the CCP authorities and the authorities' "zero growth" to Hubei.
