The Taliban took over Kabul Airport, Afghans that did not leave rejoice

Reporter : Peng Huijun

The United States ended its 20-year military mission in Afghanistan, As soon as the evacuated military plane flew away, the Taliban soldiers immediately fired shots to celebrate and fired victory fireworks. As soon as the U.S. forces withdrew, the Taliban immediately took over the Kabul Airport. Secretary of State Blinken said that in Afghanistan, diplomacy will replace military affairs.

However, after the Taliban came to power, the crisis was about to begin. Because of the financial shutdown in Afghanistan, drought and food shortage, and the epidemic crisis, the country continued to fall into turmoil.

In the dark night, the sound of gunfire like the setting off of firecrackers was loud. It was not Kabul being attacked again, but the Taliban’s "shots" to celebrate takeover of Kabul Airport. The Americans finally left, and then fireworks were set off. At 3.29 am on 31 August, the last U.S. C-17 transport plane left Kabul.

U.S. Central Command Commander McKinsey said, "Tonight's withdrawal symbolizes that the military part of this evacuation operation has ended, and it also ends the 20-year mission of the U.S. military in Afghanistan after the September 11 attacks in 2001."

The U.S. troops mission officially ended in 2016 but the last to board the evacuation plane was Major of the US 82nd Airborne Division, Donald Sho, and US Ambassador to Afghanistan Wilson asked, "Is the United States satisfied with this outcome?"

US Central Command Commander McKinsey said, "We didn't let everyone who wanted to leave." Frankly there are about 200 Americans who could not be evacuated, but the evacuation deadline has come."

Afghans that remain took to the streets to cheer, and the Taliban rushed to the airport with excitement. Taliban members echo, "Thank you Allah, those planes are still parked there. We have entered the airport tarmac, No problem, thank Allah."

The Taliban in American uniforms happily received the Chinook aircraft  that were abandoned by the United States. US Central Command Commander McKinsey responded, "We have de-armed as many as 70 armored vehicles, and they will never be used by anyone including 27 Hummers and a total of 73 military aircraft."

These armored vehicles, Hummers, and fighters cannot be taken away. Although they could no longer be used as a weapon, they became the trophy of the Taliban's seizure of power. What the United States left behind was a car bomb airstrike against ISIS-K, killing a family of 10 people, including the little brothers and one little girl about two years old.

Reporter asked White House spokesperson Jen Psaki, "Does the president feel equally responsible for these dead?" Psaki replied, "The incident is still being investigated, but no matter where it is, the loss of life is very regrettable."

The reporter asked further, "Is Biden responsible for hurting civilians at this last moment?"

The White House's evasive answers have added to the scars of the past 20 years.

An Afghan said, "In the past 20 years, the Americans have caused a lot of harm to Afghanistan."

Criticizing the European and American allied forces for hurting Afghanistan may be the true voice of many Afghans. According to a study by Brown University in the United States, the 20-year campaign in Afghanistan has killed 2,461 American soldiers, tens of thousands of Afghan civilians, and a debt of 2.5 trillion dollars was raised.

The result was that the United States hurriedly withdrew its troops in 18 days, parted from the previous terrorist attack, and effectively power was taken over by the Taliban. Kabul Airport was the last fortress of the United States.

U.S. Secretary of State Blinken said, "Military operations have ended, and diplomatic operations are about to begin."

The United States said that it would engage in diplomacy with the Taliban but whether this is a blueprint that is too ideal, because the Taliban cannot even handle internal affairs.

The Afghan financial system was shut down, and the banks were crowded onto the roads in front of the ATMs. An Afghan resident said, "The situation in Afghanistan is very bad. Everyone is confused. They flocked to the border and want to leave." The fleeing traffic has not stopped.

The Taliban said that all people with passports will be able to leave if they want, but on the other hand they will take them. The spear rushed into the TV studio, threatened the anchor, and introduced the Taliban's declaration of no escape.

Taliban commander Samuela declared, "The first message I want to send to the whole country is that there is really no need to worry." In addition, the Taliban promised that women can go to school, but they must be divided into classes for men and women. It is said that music and other entertainment will be banned in the next step. At the same time, ISIS-K has to be dealt with, and Afghanistan’s future is even more at a loss.

US officials defend leaving Americans behind in Afghanistan

Reporter : Zachary Stieber, The Epoch Times PREMIUM

U.S. officials are defending pulling all U.S. troops out of Afghanistan despite Americans remaining in the country, breaking a promise from President Joe Biden.

“We continue our mission to get them out. It’s just that it has shifted from a military mission to a diplomatic mission,” national security adviser Jake Sullivan said Tuesday on ABC’s “Good Morning America.”

“And we have considerable leverage over the Taliban to ensure that any remaining American citizen will be able to get out,” he added, without describing the leverage.

Between 100 and 200 Americans are still in Afghanistan, according to State Department estimates.

Biden, who plans to speak on Afghanistan later Tuesday, promised on Aug. 20 that the United States would evacuate every American who wanted to leave the country.

But at least some of the Americans who remain in the Taliban-held country said they tried to leave but were not successful.

“The last flight is gone and we’re left behind,” a U.S. citizen using a moniker said late Monday on CNN.

Americans who wanted to leave were forced to brave Taliban checkpoints, with some being beaten by extremists. Some reported being blocked from passing through.

Approximately 6,000 U.S. citizens were flown out between Aug. 14 and Aug. 31, but “under 200, and likely close to 100” remain in Afghanistan, Secretary of State Antony Blinken said Monday.

“We’re trying to determine exactly how many. We’re going through manifests and calling and texting through our lists, and we will have more details to share as soon as possible. Part of the challenge with fixing a precise number is that there are longtime residents of Afghanistan who have American passports and who are trying to determine whether or not they wanted to leave. Many are dual citizen Americans with deep roots and extended families in Afghanistan who resided there for many years. For many, it’s a painful choice. Our commitment to them and to all Americans in Afghanistan and everywhere in the world continues,” he said.

No Americans were evacuated on the last five jets, Gen. Kenneth McKenzie Jr. told reporters in a separate briefing.

“None of them made it to the airport, and were able to be accommodated,” he said.

U.S. officials have largely painted the evacuation mission as a success, noting that the United States flew or facilitated the evacuation of more than 123,000 civilians from the Kabul airport in 18 days.

But critics say the evacuation efforts were deeply flawed, from the reliance on the Taliban to the failure to stop a bombing attack that left 13 U.S. troops dead.

And they say the August 31 withdrawal deadline, which Biden imposed over the summer, should have been pushed back until all Americans were evacuated.

“President Biden told the American people: ‘If there’s American citizens left, we’re gonna stay to get them all out.’ He didn’t keep his word. Hundreds of Americans are now stuck in Afghanistan at the mercy of the Taliban and ISIS-K,” Rep. Mike Rogers (R-Ala.), the top Republican on the House Armed Services Committee, said in a statement.

“We have a commander-in-chief that literally left Americans behind, reportedly as hostages now, in the hands of the Taliban,” Rep. Jackie Walorski (R-Ind.) said on Newsmax.

Asked why the withdrawal happened when it did, Pentagon spokesman John Kirby said on CNN’s “New Day” that the military’s job “is to provide options to the commander-in-chief, but it’s not to make policy.”

“We don’t see a military role here in helping these, these last individuals getting out. And obviously, our job is to provide the president options, but I don’t foresee that that’s an option right now that is going to be needed,” he added.

Sullivan said Biden received a unanimous recommendation from Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, Blinken, all of his civilian advisers, all the commanders on the ground, and the Joint Chiefs of Staff “that the best way to protect our forces. And the best way to help those Americans [still in Afghanistan] was to transition this mission.”

“At the end of the day, the question will be, did we protect those American citizens did they get out if they wanted to get out? We believe that we will get out any person who wants to get out and we will have completed that mission,” he added. “And those who are criticizing are not the ones who have to sit in the Situation Room and make the hard calls about the threats that we face and the objectives we’re trying to obtain and President Biden made that hard call and it is a call he believes will ultimately serve the interests of our people.”

Guangzhou Baiyun Airport aroused "Xiaoqiang" . Netizens laughed: There is really too much mustache

Image : Night light version of Baiyun Airport. (Picture/Retrieved from Baiyun Airport Weibo)

The giant cockroach is now in Guangdong? A few days ago, the topic "The biggest cockroach in Guangdong is Baiyun Airport" appeared on the hot search in mainland China. Many photos of "Xiaoqiang" (Cockroach) appeared on Weibo.

Looking down from the sky above Baiyun Airport, the terminal building and the boarding gate were formed as a whole, like an oversized cockroach. Extend its tentacles, once implanted in this impression, you can never go back!

The topic of China’s Baiyun Airport that resembles Xiaoqiang has aroused heated discussion among mainland netizens. Some people put up a night-time aerial view of the photo. A cockroach that glows with its teeth and claws looks lifelike, and some people laugh at the fact that cockroaches can really "fly" and "link their feet." It's too much to have all the beards and beards on it."

People who are afraid of cockroaches probably won't want to fly to Baiyun Airport.

In addition, mainland Chinese netizens are also very curious, how did they come up with the design of "Cockroach Airport"? The official also gave the answer. Baiyun Airport is the first in mainland China to be built with the concept of a "central airport". Two central terminals are juxtaposed in the middle, and 12 air bridges are erected on both sides, like this decentralized terminal. It is much more convenient to allow more passengers to board directly through the air bridge.

The Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport is about 30 km away from the Guangzhou city center. It is officially opened on  5 August 2004. It is one of the three major international hub airports in China. But what made netizens even more unexpected is that the Baiyun Airport official also generously acknowledged the shape of the cockroach on Weibo, and issued a post saying, "The biggest cockroach in Guangdong is Baiyun Airport. Is this what you see on the plane?" This self-certification makes mainland netizens laugh.

C.1.2 has appeared in 9 countries, making it more contagious

A few days ago, researchers discovered a new variant strain of SARS-CoV-2 (novel coronavirus, Wuhan virus, CCP virus, covi). According to related reports, this variant strain is even more disturbing. C.1.2 looks like a "virtual master", which combines the characteristics of other strains (including Alpha, Beta and Gamma), so it is "more infectious and resistant to vaccines and medicinal properties". At present, this variant strain has spread to 9 countries, including China.

U.S. media quoted researchers’ reports that this variant strain, known as C.1.2, was first discovered in South Africa in May 2021, and has since been found in China, the United Kingdom, New Zealand, Switzerland, Portugal, and Mauritius, Botswana and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Scientists have obtained nearly one hundred relevant sequencing reports.

Compared with the original virus originally found in Wuhan, China, C.1.2 has more mutations. At present, researchers are not sure whether these combinations of mutations are more dangerous but these mutations have made C.1.2 more infectious, and to some extent evades the immune system, making existing vaccines more difficult to cope with.

The team also stated that in the third wave of the outbreak in South Africa in May this year, this C.1.2 variant strain could have been detected.

Another study led by the South African scientific team also pointed out that C.1.2 seems to have an abnormally high mutation rate. Compared with other variants of the Chinese Communist Party virus, C.1.2 is more likely to cause a serious epidemic.

The British "Mirror" reported on 30 August that according to the introduction of the South African National Institute of Infectious Diseases and the KwaZulu-Natal research innovation and sequencing platform, the C.1.2 variant strain was caused by the first wave of epidemics. The C.1 strain evolved at the time, which is twice the mutation rate of all "variant viruses of concern (VOC)".

Earlier this month, Public Health England published a report showing that the C.1.2 strain is one of 10 variants being monitored by British scientists.

Entertainment celebrity Gao Xiaosong was blocked, rumoured to be related to Jack Ma

The CCP's purge of the entertainment industry and private enterprise giants is accused of looting private property and other left-turning policies. However, some analysts believe that it may involve the CCP's internal fighting. The banned entertainment celebrities Gao Xiaosong and star Zhao Wei are both accused of being closely related to Ma Yun, and Ma Yun is behind the assets of many high-level CCP families.

According to a report by the Central News Agency, after Zhao Wei’s sudden release of works on 26 August was banned, the cross-border entertainment celebrity Gao Xiaosong was also banned by various platforms. The "Xiaosong Qi Tan" he hosted was removed from the shelves, and the Xiaoshuguan (Beijing) where he served as the curator It was also announced on the 28th that it was temporarily closed.

After Gao Xiaosong was banned, the Chinese Academy of History under the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences also issued a long article criticizing Gao Xiaosong's "seven deadly sins", including: saying that He Yingqin and Chiang Kai-shek were staunch anti-Japanese factions; saying that the September 18th Incident was responsible for Zhang Xueliang; pay a visit to Yasukuni Shrine; called Zheng Chenggong the "Great Japanese Pirate"; "praised" the United States and India; called the CCP Army the "SS", etc.

The Central News Agency reported that both Gao Xiaosong and Zhao Wei are related to Alibaba Group and its founder Jack Ma.

Gao Xiaosong is a well-known director and music producer. He also served as the chairman of Ali Music in 2015, and was transferred to the chairman of Ali Entertainment Strategy Committee the following year. He has served in Ali for 5 years. He also wrote the theme song of the same name for the micro-film "Gong Shou Dao" starring Jack Ma.

After Zhao Wei was banned, some online analysis said that her matter may be related to Jack Ma, who was on the cusp of the ban.

The capital behind the Chinese entertainment industry and Alibaba and other science and technology giants is accused of inextricably linked to different CCP power groups, and the representatives of these are the major families of Jiang Zemin's faction.

Earlier this year, the listing plan of Alibaba's Ant Financial was suspended by the authorities. At that time, The Wall Street Journal reported that one of the important reasons was that after the authorities had investigated the equity structure of Ant Group for a long time, they found that there was a small circle of CCP dignitaries with a wide range of connections, some of whom were potentially challenging to Xi Jinping. Those political families are connected.

According to the report, Boyu Capital, founded by Jiang Zemin’s grandson Jiang Zhicheng, and Beijing Zhaode Investment Group, controlled by Li Botan, son-in-law of former Politburo Standing Committee member Jia Qinglin, were all found to be ant secret investors.

In addition to the possible involvement of the CCP's internal fighting, the Beijing authorities' aggressive purge of the giants of science and technology enterprises and the entertainment industry is also considered to be related to the left-turning policies such as "the country advances and the people retreat" and "common prosperity".

On 29 August, state-level party media including Xinhuanet, People's Daily Online, and CCTV collectively reprinted a "big-character poster"-style article written by Mao Zuo people, advocating that the authorities' purge of private companies and entertainment circles is a "profound “Changes” and even “profound revolutions”. Some scholars pointed out that the "Second Cultural Revolution" is ready to emerge.

Is the flag being sacrificed for capital manipulation of public opinion? Pro-communist media stirs up Zhao Wei to block the Central Committee of the regiment

The Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the Communist Party of China issued a document recently vowing to cut the capital chain behind the entertainment industry. On the same day, Taiwan’s pro-communist media threw a “shock bullet” to stir up the past that Zhao Wei and the Ali forces who supported her “blocked” the official Weibo of the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League. They criticized the capital for manipulating public opinion and tried to challenge the political circles to the outside world. It is suspected that the authorities' blockade of Zhao Wei is just using her as the flag of the current political game.

Zhao Wei, a well-known movie star who has repeatedly fallen into the eye of public opinion in mainland China, was recently completely banned by the Beijing authorities, but the official has not disclosed the specific reasons for banning Zhao Wei this time, which has aroused many suspicions from the outside world.

On 31 August, the official website of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the Communist Party of China published an "interview" manuscript with Jiang Yu, a researcher at the Macroeconomic Department of the Development Research Center of the State Council of the Communist Party of China, which officially sounded the clarion call to rectify the capital, media, internet, and public opinion chain.

During the interview, Jiang Yu claimed that the "abnormal industry ecology" in the Chinese entertainment industry is the result of capital manipulation. Platform capital, traffic stars, and "rice circle" culture are all capital-led complete interest chains, including platform monopoly and education. Problems such as the excessive burden of extracurricular training are actually caused by the maximization of capital. He claimed that certain capital's capital expansion based on its own interests has shaped "abnormal consumption patterns" and has crossed the bottom line of "manipulating the national economy and people's livelihood" and "damaging national interests."

On the same day, Taiwan’s “Red media,” which was regarded as the CCP’s foreign propaganda, published a signed article by Zhongshi News, directly linking the banning of Zhao Wei to the political game of the Beijing authorities to rectify capital and control Internet public opinion.

At the beginning of the article, it was pointed out that many of Zhao Wei’s past behaviors have repeatedly caused controversy in public opinion, and the reason why the authorities chose to ban Zhao Wei at the moment of rectifying capital, media, and Internet public opinion is because the time to act "has reached the time and cannot wait any longer." ".

The article claims that “capital has seized the government’s control over the media” and that celebrities backed by capital power “become the key players on the Internet”. “The position of public opinion has become the looting of economic results under the control of capital to create a field of legitimacy".

This article once again reveals the incident in 2016 that Zhao Wei used to participate in Sunflower’s “anti-service trade” movement and supported the Taiwanese actor Dai Liren who supported Hong Kong’s Occupy Central, which caused public controversy in the past.

The article alleges that it was not only Sina Weibo, in which Ali held a large share, dispatched the Internet navy to "bomb and wash the ground for Zhao Wei," and even Baidu and other portals also participated in Zhao Wei’s camp. Finally, "Zhao Wei’s camp was even responsible for the youth. The work of the Communist Youth League Central Committee’s Weibo was deleted." It was not until the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, the Working Committee of State Organs and the local branches of the Communist Youth League were "forced to stop supporting the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League."

The official Weibo of the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League was reactivated. The article exclaimed that this ability and efficiency to control public opinion through capital has "approached the Chinese Communist Party and government departments."

The article went on to point out that the above-mentioned incident has evolved into a problem of "competition" with the media network public opinion platform controlled by the Chinese Communist Party.

This article further talks about the failed IPO of Ant Financial under Ma Yun. The article claims that Alibaba Group’s manipulation of Weibo and Internet platforms has already happened a few years ago. “If the Ali system is expanded to manipulate the financial market, the consequences will be even more disastrous.” Therefore, “Ant Financial’s IPO was blocked at the last moment. It is also inevitable to break." In the end, the article made an overtone, claiming that "what will happen to this case, it must be known to many people involved."

According to public information, Zhao Wei's team conducted a large-scale deletion of posts after the "Dai Liren incident" triggered public opinion backlash, and once blocked the official Weibo of the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League. After that, a huge storm of public opinion was set off on the Internet.

On 21 July 2016, the “Interface News” under the poster industry group of the Chinese Communist Party’s official media published an article, rehashing the whole story of the “Zhao Wei Incident” and pointed out that the Internet agenda has “rushed towards chaotic issues other than movies” and said bluntly. After the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League joined the "detonated situation", Internet issues have risen from the topic of Zhao Wei's use of "Taiwan independence" actors to politics, capital, and law.

It is worth noting that Xu Lin, vice minister of the Central Propaganda Department and director of the State Council Information Office of the Communist Party of China, once publicly called out in November 2020 that the propaganda system should "prevent capital manipulation of public opinion" and emphasized that media integration should implement the "party leadership" in the field of propaganda. Advocate.

On 27 August 2021, after the CCP’s Cyberspace Administration of China issued the "Notice on Further Strengthening the Control of Chaos in the "Rice Circle"", the commander of Chinese financial scholars told Radio Free Asia on the same day that the CCP authorities have been using Weibo, QQ, and Twitter. A large number of "water forces" and fake accounts are used to promote the CCP’s ideology and policies. However, the phenomenon that a large number of fans chase after film and television stars also worries the authorities, because the stars bring a huge "rice circle" appeal and let the entertainment circle liberalize the trend of thought. Since they are not under the control of the Beijing authorities, the authorities must rectify the "rice circle" and completely wipe out the aura on them.

Earlier, Akio Yaita, the director of the Taipei branch of the "Sankei Shimbun", also told Radio Free Asia that the Chinese Communist government used state power to intervene in fan quarrels and suppress the entertainment industry and "fan circles", which has great political purposes.

Yaita Akio said, "Although the Communist Party has 90 million members, Xi Jinping said that it is very unlikely that 90 million members will follow his command. But if these stars say a word, a large part of the 50 million fans will follow him. He acts and listens to his call, which is very detrimental to a centralized government."

In the comments, netizens scolded again and again, "The security is really a beast, and he ripped her clothes", "This animal security accidentally leaked the essence of the evil party", "The girl's ID card is still in the carriage... Nima, a group Beast!" Someone said, "The security is a beast-regardless of whether this woman is doing right or wrong!"

A netizen, "How many things in ancient and modern times", reposted the video and commented, "A society without dignity must be a society away from civilization. This is not all about human nature. It's not just about race. It's more about the system. It's the scourge of the CCP."

CCP publicly shielded wanted drug dealer in the U.S.

China has always been the largest source of fentanyl in the United States. US lawmakers described this as the "Opium War" launched by the CCP against the United States. During the US-China trade war, the Chinese Communist Party severely sentenced several fentanyl drug dealers at Trump's request. With the breakdown of US-China relations, the CCP has begun to publicly shelter wanted fentanyl traffickers in the United States offering a reward.

At the regular press conference of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Communist Party of China on Tuesday (31 August), spokesman Wang Wenbin criticized the US's wanted action against Chinese citizen Zhang Jian.

The day before, the US State Department announced a $5 million reward for information that could help capture Zhang Jian or convict him. Zhang Jian was accused of being a key leader of a transnational drug trafficking organization. In 2017, he was accused by the U.S. Department of Justice of selling fentanyl and fentanyl-like substances to the United States via the Internet.

A US State Department spokesperson said in a statement that between 2013 and 2016, a criminal organization led by Zhang Jian imported and distributed fentanyl and its analogues to the United States, causing at least four Americans to overdose and death, and to five others. Americans caused serious injuries.

However, Wang Wenbin declared at the press conference that the relevant drugs were not listed as ordinary chemicals in China at the time, and the United States has so far not provided relevant personnel with "evidence of violation of Chinese law." Wang Wenbin also accused the US of the wanted action "seriously undermined the foundation of Sino-US cooperation in drug control".

Prior to this, officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Communist Party of China have repeatedly declared that the United States should not expect to "suppress China" while "hoping China to cooperate."

On 1 December 2018, when Xi Jinping and then US President Trump met in Argentina, they promised to control fentanyl. The U.S.-China tariff war was underway at that time, and the CCP tried to show its favour to the U.S. in exchange for Trump to stop or postpone tariffs on Chinese goods. In November 2019, a Chinese district court sentenced nine drug dealers who smuggled fentanyl into the United States to severe sentences, and one of them received a suspended death sentence.

For a long time, the CCP has controlled drugs in the country, but condoned the mass production of fentanyl in China and imported into the United States, causing tens of thousands of Americans to die every year.

NTD reporters searched for "fentanyl" on a Chinese foreign trade search engine run by a company in Beijing and found nearly 2,000 search results. These fentanyl sellers come from China's Hebei, Hubei, Beijing, Shanxi, Shandong, Zhejiang, Guangzhou, Chongqing, Jiangsu and Hong Kong and other places, almost all over the country.

Markos Kounalakis, a senior researcher at Central European University and a visiting scholar at the Hoover Institution of Stanford University in the United States, wrote in November 2017 that “Fentanyl played a role as a weapon in the CCP’s Opium War against the United States in the 21st century."

On Monday, the US State Department offered a $5 million reward for information about Zhang Jian, the leader of a transnational drug trafficking organization and a Chinese suspect. Zhang Jian was indicted by the U.S. Department of Justice in 2017 for importing fentanyl and other drugs into the United States, which caused the death and disability of many Americans.

The US Department of Justice issued an announcement on Monday offering a reward of up to 5 million U.S. dollars to find information about the Chinese suspect Zhang Jian.

The notice said: "From 2013 to 2016, the drug cartel organized by Zhang Jian exported controlled items and similar items to the United States. As a result, four Americans died from drug overdose in North Dakota, Oregon, North Carolina, and New Jersey, and another five died in the United States. The person is seriously injured."

Zhang Jian sells fentanyl and fentanyl analogs through the Internet, and then sells illegal drugs through the mail.

In 2017, the Ministry of Justice accused Zhang Jian of drug trafficking. In 2018, four other Chinese citizens were accused of laundering money for Zhang Jian’s drug cartel.

According to the indictment of the Ministry of Justice, Zhang Jian is the head of a registered company in Hong Kong, which was established in 1991 and mainly sells food additives, spices and other products.

In 2018, Zhang Jian and several other Chinese, American, and Canadian citizens were indicted in North Dakota on charges including drug trafficking, trafficking in contraband, and international money laundering.

Where will the Afghan refugees go when they arrive in the United States? 35 states willing to accept

After the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan, the issue of how to resettle Afghan refugees who fled to the United States was brought to the table. According to a survey published by the "Huffington Post" on Tuesday (31 August), so far, 35 states in the United States are willing to accept Afghan refugees, 2 states have refused, and 13 states have not expressed their views.

According to the report, most states in the United States agree to accept refugees fleeing Afghanistan. This overwhelming support highlights the acceptance of allies by local governments in the United States, in stark contrast to the recent border refugee crisis. The final settlement location for Afghan refugees will be negotiated between the federal and state governments. Not all states can accommodate refugees.

According to statistics, from 14 to 30 August, the U.S. military evacuated more than 120,000 Americans, citizens of allied countries, and Afghan allies.

US President Biden was scheduled to meet with the governor who welcomed the refugees last week, but the meeting has been postponed due to a suicide bomb attack near the Kabul airport. It is still unclear whether the time will be rescheduled. White House spokesperson Jen Psaki said on the 26th: “We are in contact with bipartisan governors across the country. They have raised their hands to request temporary resettlement to help resettle vulnerable Afghans and welcome them to enter new communities in these states."

Currently, states that welcome Afghan refugees include Washington, Oregon, California, Nevada, Utah, Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, North Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Oklaho Massachusetts, Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri, Arkansas, Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts Serbia, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia.

South Dakota and Wyoming refused to do so.

Montana, Idaho, Alaska, Hawaii, Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee, West Virginia, Kentucky, Alabama, Delaware and Florida did not respond to whether they are willing to accept refugees.

According to a CBS News/YouGov poll, about 81% of Americans (90% of Democrats and 76% of Republicans) believe that the United States should help Afghan refugees.

Announcing the end of the war in Afghanistan Biden: Withdrawal to meet CCP's challenges

US President Joe Biden made a statement on the end of the war in Afghanistan on 31 August. He stated that the United States has ended its 20-year war in Afghanistan and that the withdrawal of troops is in response to the changing world. The United States is facing severe challenges from CCP China and Russia, as well as cyber attacks and nuclear proliferation issues.

Biden announced at the White House State Banquet Hall on the 31st that the Afghan War has ended and the United States has completed the largest evacuation operation in history. Only the United States has the ability, will, and ability to do such an extraordinary thing. The achievement is attributed to the skills, bravery and selfless courage of the US military, diplomats, and intelligence professionals.

He emphasized that he does not intend to prolong this "eternal war". Withdrawal is the clearest and most correct decision for the United States. Moreover, since terrorism has erupted all over the world, the United States should change its strategy accordingly. This decision is in line with the United States. National interest.

Biden said that the world is changing. The United States is competing fiercely with CCP China, facing multiple challenges with Russia, and also encountering cyber attacks and nuclear proliferation issues. Biden said that it is necessary to strengthen the competitiveness of the United States to deal with these new challenges of the 21st century, while at the same time fighting terrorism and coping with new threats that will continue to exist in the future.

Biden said that in this competition, CCP or Russia hopes that the United States will be trapped in another 10-year predicament in Afghanistan. When a new chapter in history is opened, it is necessary to learn from mistakes. Withdrawal from Afghanistan involves more than just one country, but to end an era.

The devil variant and Covi51 make Comirnaty less effective

In South Africa, the rate of C.1.2 diagnoses has increased from 0.2% in May this year to 2% in July. Judging from this speed, it is at least not slower than Covi72, which has caused the spread of terror in many countries. Therefore, this current "devil variant" has attracted strong attention from the world's media and health circles. The B.1.351 variant (Covi51) of SARS-CoV-2, also first identified in South Africa, has been found in studies that it seems to make the Pfizer vaccine less effective.

News (24)

Covi72 can "eat" the patient's lungs!

With the spread of variants, the number of infections continues to rise. In Florida, Texas and other places in the United States, in order to rescue infected patients, oxygen supply has become tight. Doctors in the Florida Intensive Care Unit told the media that after some people were infected with the Delta virus, their lungs were as terrible as being "eaten" by the virus strain, and they might eventually die. The doctor personally believes that vaccination seems to alleviate the symptoms.

News (25)

Vaccination is required to apply for a green card except for children on religious or moral reasons

But at present, the world's views on virus vaccines are still divided. Big media, big pharmaceutical factories, big hospitals, big governments, and some big scientists have all recommended vaccines, even more compulsory methods. The CDC of the United States recently announced new regulations requiring that starting from 1 October 2021, most immigrants applying for a green card in the United States must be vaccinated and provide proof of vaccination in order to obtain permanent residency in the United States.

The exceptions only include children under the age of 12 due to religious or moral reasons, or there is no immediate vaccine supply in the area, but this situation should also be recorded when applying for a green card medical examination, and then the parties should arrange as soon as possible vaccination.

News (26)

Is mandatory vaccination right? Opponents lay their grounds

People who oppose compulsory vaccination believe that compulsory vaccination is a wrong policy, and that there should be more choices to fight the virus, instead of using policies to create "discrimination" to target people who are unwilling to be vaccinated for various reasons.

Harvard University professor Martin Kulldorff has been researching vaccines for more than 20 years. He opposes compulsory vaccination, arguing that this is for political reasons. Kurdoff said that for those who have recovered from the disease, the antibodies they naturally produce are not inferior to vaccines, and may be better.

Some countries such as Denmark have recognized natural immunity, that is, if you recover from the infection, it is equivalent to being vaccinated. Moreover, the mandatory vaccination will damage public trust and increase resentment, and the effect will be counterproductive.

In addition, there are also views that it is not against the use of vaccines, but that compulsory use is unnecessary. Taking the Delta strain (Covi72) as an example, the general vaccine's defense rate against it can only reach about 60%. Even if the vaccine is effective, it is not enough to prevent the virus from spreading in the population. Moreover, the CEO of Pfizer himself said that there will be variant strains that cannot be resisted by current vaccines. That means that there are constant variants and pharmaceutical companies must continue to develop vaccines, so should people continue to vaccinate different vaccines? ?

Therefore, people who oppose the view will think that mandatory vaccination is unnecessary and should be based on voluntary principles. Moreover, almost all kinds of vaccines have reported side effects and even fatal cases. This is also the reason why those people oppose compulsory vaccination.

Among them, the vaccine produced by the CCP is the most controversial. There are many examples of infections, and even worsening symptoms after vaccinating. Of course, there are ordinary people who support compulsory measures for different reasons but do not refer to the CCP’s mandatory epidemic prevention data. It is inaccurate. The CCP seems to be trying to build its own successful epidemic prevention but in fact, it is all playing digital games, and many data have been severely revised before being released. It is not just a virus anymore. There are also data frauds in other fields, which is a common phenomenon.

News (27)

Mandatory epidemic prevention, codes stamped on the arm, CCP's words and deeds are inconsistent

The "compulsory epidemic prevention" measures under the CCP's rule are also frequent strange tricks. On 26 August, a Shanghai citizen posted a short video on Weibo, saying that a hospital in Shanghai not only checked the health code and pass code for each entrant, but also stamped the arm with the word "double code". According to the experience, this phenomenon aroused the onlookers of mainland netizens.

Hong Kong's "Sing Tao Daily" reported last week that Xi Jinping's authorities have issued internal targets. The country will complete the vaccination of 1 billion people by the end of August and 1.1 billion people by the end of October. Once again, it proves that the CCP’s words and deeds are inconsistent. The CCP’s health agency previously claimed that vaccination was voluntary, but in fact local governments are compulsively administering the vaccination, which in turn proves that Xi Jinping’s internal secret order may really exist.

In some places, money is spent to ask outsiders to vaccinate locally, to gather indicators and tasks, and for this reason, another data falsification is brought out. In the previous CCP’s national census, some areas lied about the number of people. Originally there were fewer people, but he reported more. This way of getting more economic subsidies is also good for attracting investment. As a result, the target for vaccines is now down, and the locals are not enough. Just spend money to find outsiders to vaccinate. This makes a joke. Isn't there that sentence, tell a lie, you have to make up a thousand lies to cover it up later.

Xinhua News Agency: The dictatorship is for great ideals!

Now Xi Jinping is speeding up his left turn, using the Communist Party to create a unique dictatorship system, and doing anything like a national political movement, giving people a sense of returning to mainland China before the 1980s. The Communist Party is very leftist and concentrated.

However, being scolded for dictatorship every day, the CCP’s Propaganda Department may always want to relieve the master, so on 26 August, a long article was published on Xinhua News Agency, discussing the CCP’s so-called historical mission and action value. Xi Jinping engages in dictatorship and creates rationality.

If anyone has read this long article, you will definitely feel that it is like reading the Constitution of the Communist Party of China. Everyone knows that if anyone has depression or is in a bad mood, maybe you read the Constitution of the Communist Party of China, and your bad mood may be greatly improved, because this constitution has everything free, democracy, and human rights but it is a pity. It is just a pile of waste paper.

The article published by Xinhua News Agency is the same. The main content is that Xi Jinping’s dictatorship is politically ambitious, including fighting corruption and social injustice. It also says that the "Chinese Dream" is for the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation and a "community with a shared future for mankind." It is for Chinese culture to contribute to the world.

In fact, as long as the CCP does not exist, Chinese civilization does not know how much it has contributed to the world, and CCP's existence is precisely the catastrophe of Chinese civilization. In fact, what the CCP wants to promote now is its own Communist Party culture, not Chinese culture. It is estimated that this long article by Xinhua News Agency is forcing internal party members to take a look, and there will be no readers. But this article seems to be starting from another angle to find reasons for the continued existence of the CCP.

Xi wants "anti-privilege" against whom

The Xinhua News Agency article also mentioned that the CCP must eradicate malignant tumors, maintain a healthy body, and resolutely prevent the formation of a so-called "privileged class" within the party. This is the same as the other words in the article. You don't need to be too serious. It is just a "vase", put it on display, and tell people to listen to it, but if you do not do it, it may depend on whether this "privileged class" is a group that Xi Jinping accepts.

You must know that if we put it more truthfully, the CCP is currently a complex of privileged families, and it is now a privileged class. If it wants "anti-privileges", it is tantamount to anti-CCP. In 2012, Bloomberg in the United States published a report that tracked the wealth of CCP veteran families such as Deng Xiaoping, Chen Yun, and Wang Zhen at the time, and found that their few powerful families held a total of US$1.6 trillion in Chinese state-owned enterprise assets.

Therefore, if Xi Jinping still wants to use the Communist Party to maintain system governance, "anti-privilege" will always be empty talk. Unless it is a "political enemy", it may be targeted in the name of a "privileged class."

News (30)

Jiang faction carves up China’s wealth

For example, the privileged class of the Chinese Communist Party has the first and the second, the old and the new. Beginning in the 1990s, several new privileged families were formed, and corruption reached its peak. Jiang Zemin’s family is one of them. Jiang’s family controls more than trillions of assets in China. At the beginning of its fortune, its family is catching up with the early days of the CCP’s opening to the outside world. Many wealthy areas have been seized, and there are thousands of related companies. Including China's telecommunications industry, financial industry, etc., it is known that the assets transferred overseas by the Jiang family through money laundering amounted to at least 500 billion U.S. dollars, and this money has penetrated into large funds and large technology companies in the United States.

In addition, there is also the family of Jiang Zemin's dog-headed military division "Zeng Qinghong". The Zeng family has control over China's petroleum industry, energy and chemical industries, etc., which are equally rich in the enemy's country. Liu Yunshan family is the same. They divide up China's wealth and are a veritable privileged class. I don't know if Xi Jinping's government's claim to prevent privileges refers to these people. Jiang and Zeng's power relied on their wealth, and their erosive life also made the outside world shocked.

News (31)

Bad people's milk banquets expose CCP corruption

For example, Liu Yunshan’s confidant of the Jiang school and former director of the CCP’s Cyberspace Affairs Office, Lu Wei, once burst out a rotten "human milk feast", which is drinking human milk. This incident was reported by the Xinhua News Agency reporter Zhou Fang in 2013. Participants also include Lu Wei’s patron and Jiang faction Liu Yunshan himself. This kind of erosion is also spreading in Chinese society. For example, some people sell human milk in bags, which are bought for drinking, skin care, and even more so, hiring breastfeeding women to drink human milk directly on the spot.

This is one of countless phenomena of corruption among the powerful and elite of the Chinese Communist Party. And I just mentioned a detail, I don’t know if you have paid special attention to these privileged families, they are dividing up a certain industry or certain industries in China. The Jiang family, the Zeng family, the Liu family, etc. have their own division of labor. Recently, the mainland entertainment industry has frequently encountered problems. What is going on? I don’t know if you have thought about "industry" to carve up.

News (32)

Showbiz big names emerge

So who might be in charge of this "industry"? It is likely to be "Zeng Qinghuai", the younger brother of Zeng Qinghong, who is known as the true behind-the-scenes tycoon of the mainland entertainment industry. This person has scandals with many beautiful stars in the entertainment industry.

Hong Kong's "Outpost" magazine disclosed that the former deputy public security minister of the Chinese Communist Party, who was also imprisoned in the early years, Li Dongsheng, who was also a Jiang faction, said that he did not do the work of turning CCTV into the "harem" of high-ranking officials, but that "Zeng Qinghuai" forced him. What he did, that is to say, Zeng Qinghuai's unspoken kung fu in the showbiz has already spread to CCTV.

Some observers also broke the news that Zeng Qinghong was stationed in Hong Kong in the 1990s and has been in charge of the CCP's work in Hong Kong and Macau since 2003. His brother Zeng Qinghuai took the opportunity to develop his influence in the Hong Kong performing arts circle, and it was revealed that he has controlled the performing arts circles in Beijing and Hong Kong for a long time.

You should be familiar with the two people in the photo above. The man on the right is Zeng Qinghuai, and the woman on the left holding his arm tightly is Zhao Wei. This photo is very telling, and Zhao Wei is not so intimacy with Zeng Qinghuai because he is a bigwig in the entertainment industry. They even have "business" contacts.

Zhao Wei is involved with important people behind, or Xi’s favourite carrot

The case of Wanjia Culture M&A that Zhao Wei participated in is an example. At that time, Zhao Wei invested 3 billion RMB to purchase Wanjia Culture with a market value of 10 billion RMB but in fact she only spent 60 million RMB, and a large part of it, except for bank loans Xiao Jianhua directly gave her 1.5 billion RMB and Xiao Jianhua was the white glove shared by Zeng Qinghong's family and Jiang Zemin's family, and was also suspected of causing the Chinese stock market disaster in 2015.

In addition, Zhao Wei was also broke the news that she invested heavily in Alibaba Pictures. The stock price was only more than 1 Hong Kong Dollars at the time of the investment. Later, the stock price rose rapidly, making Zhao Wei earn tens of millions of Hong Kong Dollars every day. Zhao Wei’s backing funders are both Xiao Jianhua and Ma Yun, and Ma Yun and Xiao Jianhua also have business dealings. In such a series, we can find that Zhao Wei, and her husband Huang Youlong, have different relationships with Ma Yun, and Jiang’s white glove Xiao Jianhua. Are they engaging in money laundering? Does it involve other issues? This is very complicated, so Zhao Wei's accident may only happen sooner or later.

Zhao Wei was targeted as early as November 2017 when Beijing established the "Financial Stability Committee". At that time, the first case of the committee was Zhao Wei, who was fined 300,000 RMB but at the same time she was prohibited from entering and exiting the stock market within 5 years. Why is Zhao Wei so prominent? If it is only as a celebrity who commits the crime, it cannot be the case. It must also be related to the intricate interpersonal relationship behind her.

The characters behind her may be described as "ready to come out", which is not excessive at all. China's performing arts circle is a cornucopia, where money gathers. Recently, at least 380 billion RMB has been invested every year. The political, business and even military forces here are complicated.

Moreover, the celebrity's appeal is amazing, and it is often a word that can rush to the hot search list and kill Xi Jinping's "community of destiny". In any way, this one cannot stand it. The overall backstage of this showbiz is Xi Jinping’s mortal enemy, the Zeng family of the Jiang school. Of course, the Zeng family is definitely one of the big brothers. It may be the most influential one. There must be other Jiang school clans on the backstage.

The only thing that Xi has not firmly grasped is the "financial power"

An observer from Taiwan called Ma Xiping told the media, "After the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, Xi Jinping has mastered the powers of the party, government, military, police, and media, but the finances have not been in his own hands for a long time." Therefore, Xi Jinping's launching of private enterprises and entertaining business circles is likely to be the same as we analyzed before. He wants to regain financial power, and the target of the power is likely to involve several large families of the Jiang school.

"Guangming Daily" published an article about the Cultural Revolution on the West

On 29 August, the Chinese Communist Party’s "Guangming Daily" published an article claiming that a so-called profound change is underway, naming Wu Yifan, Huo Zun, Zhang Zhehan, Zhao Wei, Zheng Shuang, and Gao Xiaosong. Among them, Zhao Wei was criticized the most, saying that she was in public view. Gradually low-key, but more and more developed, she is still able to call the wind and rain in the capital market, fiercely fighting with Jack Ma, and even able to control public opinion and eliminate negative news about her, but there are constant cases appearing, but Zhao Wei never fails. This is A "mystery".

Later, the writing of the article changed, saying that the Communist Party of China is undergoing major changes, and profound "revolutions" are taking place in the economic, financial, cultural, and political fields. What does it include? This article is very straightforward, including that the capital market is no longer a paradise for capitalists to get rich, news and public opinion is no longer a position of Western culture, and all means must be used to combat the phenomenon of star chasing and the so-called "rice circle". It even mentioned that artists and film and television workers should "go down to the grassroots", which sounds like going to the mountains and going to the countryside.

This article is quite straightforward and basically makes it clear what the authorities mean. In summary, in order to centralize power, Xi Jinping now has to do two things. First, recover power in the economic and financial fields. Second, eliminate Western culture at the cultural level and launch a cultural revolution against "Western culture". The "showbiz" both account for these two points, so it must be impossible to escape.

The US military was required to report when crossing the Taiwan Strait

This is internally and externally. The CCP has been creating tension in the Taiwan Strait. The Chinese Communist Party has just promulgated a new law, saying that starting from 1 September 2021, 5 types of foreign ships must notify the Chinese Communist Party’s maritime administration in advance when entering their territorial waters. The notification includes the ship’s name, title, place of departure and destination, etc. Types of ships include submarines, nuclear-powered ships, and so on.

These two alone are likely to involve foreign military submarines and nuclear-powered warships, and the CCP believes that both the South China Sea and the Taiwan Strait are within the scope of this "territorial sea." Therefore, after the introduction of this requirement, if foreign ships refuse to report, the CCP will not dare to do anything, but at least it may cause disputes or unpleasantness, and may still trigger regional tensions. Last Friday, the US warship had just passed through the Taiwan Strait again.

At the same time, the Communist Army deployed a submarine in the waters near Yonaguni Island in Okinawa County, between Japan and Taiwan, and stopped there 24 hours a day. Who will be ordered in to protect Taiwan at risk of CCP's military attack?

The CCP must have its own timetable for Taiwan, and it may be closer to its timetable for seeking Taiwan as it goes back, especially after the 20th National Congress in 2022, it will become more tense. If it is after 2024, then the president of Taiwan will no longer be Tsai Ing-wen. Who can it be?

According to a poll published on the 30th by Taiwan’s "Formosa Electronic News", among the five people Hou Youyi, Lai Qingde (Lai Ching-teh), Zheng Wencan, Ke Wenzhe, and Zhu Lilun, Lai stood out and became the most suitable next president in the hearts of the people, with a support rate of 25.1%.

But that being said, it is still early to 2024, and everything is still inconclusive. However, no matter who is the president of Taiwan, it may be his greatest responsibility to continuously and soberly counter the CCP’s infiltration and all-round threats. This burden is very stressful but if it is done well, the leader is likely to remain famous forever.

The remaining amount and vaccination qualifications of four vaccines in Taiwan

Out of the 15 million doses of BNT vaccine purchased by Hon Hai Yongling, TSMC, and Tzu Chi, the first batch of more than 900,000 Comirnaty doses is expected to arrive in Taiwan in the early morning of 2 September 2021. This is the first time that Taiwan has received Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine.  It also made it possible for Taiwan to gather the four major brands of covi vaccines for the first time, including BNT, AZ, Modena and Medigen vaccines.

The command centre also announced the first batch of Comirnaty vaccinating plans yesterday, which will be given priority to people aged 12-22.  Chen Shizhong said yesterday that the current BNT vaccination program is initially open to subjects aged 12-17 years old, and the rest will give priority to 18-22 years old to the appointment platform for willingness registration and appointment. Alert! Colombian variant has been named "Mu" WHO list needs to pay attention to variant strains

Another alert! The World Health Organization (WHO) has named the Colombian variant of SARS-CoV-2 as "Mu" (Covi21) and it is necessary to pay attention to this variant. First discovered in Colombia in January 2021, it  has been approved by WHO and listed as one of the "Variants of Interest".

According to foreign media reports, the World Health Organization pointed out in its weekly report on 31 August in Geneva, Switzerland that "Mu", also known as the "B.1.621" variant strain, was listed as a mutation requiring attention. According to the WHO, Covi21 has undergone a series of mutations, showing that it has the potential to escape immunity. However, it also emphasizes that more research is still needed to further understand this new variant.

"Mu" accounts for about 39% of the infections in Colombia and 13% in Ecuador. Related cases have also appeared in Europe. An outbreak of Covi21 infection occurred in a nursing home in Belgium in August. Although all residents in the nursing home were vaccinated, 21 households were still diagnosed.  7 people died. On 13 August, Taiwan also had the first inbound covid case with Covi21.

WHO currently has 4 "Variants of Concern" (Variants of Concern), including the British variant (Alpha) that infects 193 countries, the South African variant (Beta) that infects 141 countries, and the Brazilian variant that infects 91 countries ( Gamma), and recently become mainstream, Delta variant (Covi72) has infected 170 countries.

There are 5 "variant strains to watch out for", namely Eta (discovered in the UK), Iota (discovered in New York, USA), Kappa (discovered in India), Lambda (discovered in Peru), and Mu.

CCP's representative on talks between Myanmar Junta, Ethic Armies, quietly visited Myanmar

Image : Sun Guoxiang (Photo by The Irrawaddy)

A Chinese special envoy who is the key player in Myanmar’s peace negotiations between the government and ethnic armed groups met the country’s regime leader and other officials during an unannounced visit last week.

Beijing said on Tuesday that Special Envoy for Asian Affairs Sun Guoxiang was in Myanmar from Aug. 21 to 28 at the invitation of the regime. He met with junta leader Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, Minister for Foreign Affairs U Wunna Maung Lwin and Minister for the Union Government Office Lieutenant General Yar Pyae.

In an unusual move, the regime remains tightlipped about the visit. Normally, such a high-profile visit by a foreign dignitary is front page news in the junta’s dailies.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin said during a press conference on Tuesday that the special envoy “exchanged views with [regime officials] on the political landscape in Myanmar and China-Myanmar cooperation in combating COVID-19.”

Myanmar has been in political turmoil since the military takeover in February when the country’s democratically elected National League for Democracy government led by Daw Aung San Suu Kyi was ousted. Since then, the regime has faced popular opposition, including armed resistance.

China has encouraged the regime to work with regional bloc ASEAN, of which Myanmar is a member, to stabilize the situation in the country.

“We will work together with the international community to play a constructive role in Myanmar’s efforts to restore social stability and resume democratic transformation at an early date,” said Wang Wenbin.

The special envoy’s visit last week came ahead of an expected visit by ASEAN’s representative. The bloc has appointed Brunei’s second minister for foreign affairs, Erywan Yusof, as special envoy to Myanmar and tasked him with ending the violence in the country and opening a dialogue between the regime and its opponents. It is hoped he will be in Myanmar this month.

During Sun’s meeting with junta officials, it is believed he also raised border security issues. Fighting between regime troops and ethnic armed groups in the northern and northeastern parts of the country near the Chinese border has intensified recently.

Sun’s visit coincided with fighting between junta troops and the Kachin Independence Army (KIA) and the Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army (MNDAA).

Research: The venom of  jaracussu may be resistant to SARS-CoV-2
Reporter : Chen Ting / Editor : Ye Ziwei / https://www.epochtimes.com/gb/21/9/1/n13202146.htm

A study published this month in the scientific journal "Molecules" (Molecules) found (link), a molecular peptide in snake venom ( peptide) has an antiviral effect and can inhibit the reproduction of coronavirus in monkey cells, which may be the first step in the development of anti-covid drugs.
The author of the study, Rafael Guido, a professor at the São Carlos Institute of Physics at the University of São Paulo, Brazil, said: “We can prove that this ingredient in snake venom can inhibit the virus in A very important protein."
Researchers found that the molecules in the venom of this jaracussu (Bothrops jararacussu) can reduce the reproduction ability of the virus in monkey cells by 75%.
This molecular peptide is called "(p-BthTX-I)2K", which is an amino acid chain that can bind to the PLpro protease (also known as papain-like protease) of the coronavirus without affecting other cells. This enzyme is an important regulatory molecule of SARS-CoV-2. It is essential for viral gene transcription and replication, and it is also the target of many antiviral drugs.
In an interview, Guido emphasized that this peptide is well-known for its antiviral ability and can be synthesized in the laboratory, so there is no need to catch or raise the jaracussus during production.
Giuseppe Puorto, a herpetologist at the Butantan Institute in Brazil, also said: “We are very worried that people will go out hunting  jaracussus and think they will save the world.”
"It's not that the venom itself can treat covid." Puerto said.
The University of Sao Paulo said that researchers will next evaluate the antiviral efficiency of different doses and whether it can prevent viruses from entering cells.
They hope to test the substance in human cells later, but no timetable has been set.
Jaracussu is one of the largest venomous snakes in Brazil, over 6 feet in length. It lives in coastal forests and can also be found in Bolivia, Paraguay and Argentina.

New tracing strategy found that the origin of SARS-CoV-2 conforms to the natural evolutionary process
Reporter : Lu Chengkuan / Publisher : Science and Technology Daily / http://news.sciencenet.cn/htmlnews/2021/9/464305.shtm
Can the historical host be inferred through genetic mutation of the virus?
On 31 August 2021, the reporter learned from the Institute of Genetics and Developmental Biology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences that the researchers of the Institute proposed a new novel coronavirus (covi, SARS-CoV-2) traceability strategy, which is to infer the historical host of covi by identifying the spectral characteristics of the covi gene mutation. .
Studies have found that the mutation characteristics accumulated by covi before the outbreak are highly consistent with the cell environment of wild bats (especially chrysanthemum bats), which means that the origin of covi is in line with the natural evolutionary process. The research provides open, transparent and empirical data support for the natural origin of the new coronavirus. Related research results were published online in the comprehensive English academic journal "The Innovation".
At present, the bat virus RaTG13 isolated from the genus Rhinolophus that is closest to the genome covi sequence has been discovered by the study. Its gene sequence is only 96.2% similar to covi. "The evolutionary divergence between the bat virus RaTG13 and the new coronavirus occurred about 50 years ago. According to evolutionary analysis, covi has accumulated more than 500 mutations before the outbreak." Co-corresponding author of the paper, Institute of Genetics and Developmental Biology, Chinese Academy of Sciences Researcher Qian Wenfeng said.
In view of this, the researchers proposed a tracing strategy to speculate the historical host of covi by using the spectral characteristics of the more than 500 mutations of SARS-CoV-2.
The researchers first confirmed the prerequisites that this strategy needs to meet. "We need to confirm three hypotheses: one is that there are differences in the cell environment between different hosts, which will produce host-specific mutations in the viral genome; the other is that new mutations in the viral genome are mainly caused by the host cell environment. The third is that the mutation characteristics accumulated by the virus in evolution are mainly determined by the new mutation." Qian Wenfeng explained.
After establishing the theoretical basis for the new tracing strategy, the researchers constructed the evolutionary tree of SARS virus, Middle East respiratory syndrome virus, covi and 16 related coronaviruses. Qian Wenfeng pointed out that these viruses were previously isolated and sequenced from different species such as humans, bats, camels, civet cats, pangolins, and hedgehogs by other researchers.

Pilot's "Breakthrough Infection" Delta variant detected, crew quarantine tightened from 15 September 2021
For the first time in the Republic of China, a pilot (case 16066) had a breakthrough covi infection. Chen Shizhongjin, the commander of the Central Epidemic Command Center, stated that the pilot’s genetic sequencing was confirmed to be infected with the Delta variant (Covi72).The quarantine regulations for crew members returning to Taiwan will be adjusted.
Chen Shizhong stated that the 16066 gene was sequenced to be infected with Covi72. The 26 contacts listed in the list were all negative by PCR. Among them, 12 were quarantined at home and 14 were under independent health management; in response to the continued severe epidemic of the Delta mutant internationally Considering that the Delta mutant strain has strong transmission power, high virus load at the time of illness, and frequent cases of breakthrough infections after complete covi vaccination abroad, the regulations on crew members returning to Taiwan to prevent and quarantine are adjusted in a rolling manner.
Chen Shizhong said that the quarantine regulations for crew members returning to Taiwan will be implemented from 0:00 on 15 September 2021 (the time of flight arrival in Taiwan). They are divided into long-haul flights and short-haul flights, and there are different levels of quarantine regulations based on the vaccination situation.
For long-haul flight crews (level 3 areas of the inbound tourism epidemic) and those who have not been fully vaccinated, they need 7 days of residential inspection (PCR for overcast) + 7 days to strengthen independent health management + PCR for inspection on the 10th and 14th days (required to adopt Deep throat saliva or nasopharyngeal swabs); for those who have been fully vaccinated for two weeks and the antibody test is positive, undergo a 5-day residential inspection (PCR for negative) + 9 days to strengthen independent health management + 9th and 14th days for PCR (received deep throat saliva or nasopharyngeal swab).
For short-haul flights (round trip on duty and not entering the third place), crew members who have not been fully vaccinated must do 14 days to strengthen independent health management + PCR inspection every 7 days (deep throat saliva can be collected); complete vaccination for up to two weeks Those who have a positive antibody test will receive 7 days of general independent health management + PCR test every 7 days (deep throat saliva must be collected).
Chen Shizhong further stated that the implementation of “zero-touch” management of outstations and “full protection” on board is a key mechanism to ensure the health and safety of crew members. He also reminded crew members that they should abide by the relevant operating regulations set by the Civil Aviation Administration when on duty, and improve themselves. Be vigilant and implement self-health monitoring and abnormal notification measures.

Taliban escorted Americans to airport in accordance with secret agreement
CNN reported on 1 September 2021 that during the withdrawal of U.S. forces from Afghanistan, the U.S. military negotiated a secret agreement with the Taliban, and the Taliban escorted a number of American citizens there. The "secret gate" at Kabul Airport helped them evacuate from Afghanistan.
Two U.S. Department of Defense officials stated that U.S. citizens were told to gather at a "assembly point" near the airport, where the Taliban checked their documents and took them to a gate guarded by U.S. troops. According to reports, American soldiers can see Americans passing through the crowd gathered around the airport under the escort of the Taliban, and are ready to intervene if anything happens.
A U.S. official said that the Taliban’s escort missions were “several times a day,” and one of the key meeting points was the Afghan Ministry of Internal Affairs building outside the gate of Kabul Airport.
CNN said that due to the sensitivity of these arrangements, the two U.S. defense officials requested anonymity because the U.S. is concerned that the Taliban’s response to any propaganda actions and threats of attacks from the “Islamic State” branch ISIS-K have not been disclosed until now. In addition, during the entire evacuation process, Biden government officials emphasized that they are cooperating with the Taliban, and U.Sofficials have repeatedly emphasized that the Taliban has promised to provide Americans with a "safe passage."
U.S. President Biden said in a speech on 31 August that the U.S. withdrawal in Afghanistan has been completed. In the past 17 days, more than 120,000 people have been evacuated, including about 5,500 American citizens.
However, the United States admits that hundreds of American citizens remain in Afghanistan. At present, the United States is calling on the Taliban not to obstruct the departure of all interested people.

The Taliban show their favor to Beijing, the CCP "loves and fears"

After the U.S. forces withdrew from Afghanistan, the Taliban spokesperson called the CCP for diplomatic and economic support, but the CCP did not publicly recognize the Taliban regime. Analysis believes that the CCP "loves and fears" the Taliban and is in a dilemma. Prior to this, the Foreign Minister of the Communist Party of China Wang Yi had taken the initiative to contact the high-level Taliban.
The U.S. military completed its withdrawal from Afghanistan on August 30. Taliban spokesman Suhail Shaheen called out to the CCP on the same day, seeking diplomatic and economic support, and also praised China as a "great neighbor."
In an interview with the South China Morning Post's Asia This Week, Shaheen said that the Taliban hope to cooperate with the CCP.
Shaheen declared, "We are ready to exchange views with China on how to promote relations between the two countries, establish regional peace, and help Afghanistan rebuild."
Shaheen also claimed, "China, our great neighbor, can play a constructive and active role in the reconstruction of Afghanistan and the economic development and prosperity of the Afghans."
Despite this, the spokesperson of the Chinese Communist Party’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs Wang Wenbin evaded answering when asked whether China would recognize the Afghan Taliban government at a regular press conference on 31 August.
Wang Wenbin stated, "We hope that Afghanistan will form an open, inclusive, and broadly representative government, pursue a moderate and stable domestic and foreign policy, resolutely combat all kinds of terrorist forces, live in friendship with other countries, and conform to the wishes of its people and the general expectations of the international community."
It is worth noting that before this, the CCP received a high-level Taliban delegation. On 27 July 2021, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met in Tianjin with a delegation led by Mullah Baradar, the second figure of the Afghan Taliban.
Liu Zhongjing, an independent Chinese scholar living in the United States, told Radio Free Asia, “China (the CCP) is now in a dilemma, and China (the CCP)’s Central Asia policy has always followed Russia. Because of Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, etc. With a clear-cut support for the'Northern Alliance' against the Taliban, China dare not express its stance lightly."
Liu Zhongjing said, “If China (the CCP) serves the Taliban, it may offend the five Central Asian countries and threaten the Shanghai Cooperation Organization; but if it specifically follows Russia, if it fails to control the Taliban, the situation in Pakistan, Afghanistan’s borders, and the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor will deteriorate and advance and retreat. It's hard."
"The U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan has dealt a great blow to China. China (the CCP) cannot control the Taliban. He just had to establish good relations with dangerous neighbors in advance when he saw the expansion of the Taliban's power. Threats like Bata al-Qaeda and Islamic State." Liu Zhongjing said.
He also analyzed that the CCP is facing a difficult test on the Afghan issue.
In the afternoon of 31 August, Eastern Time, US President Biden announced that with the departure of the last US military plane from Kabul, the United States officially ended the 20-year war in Afghanistan.
He said: "After 20 years of war in Afghanistan, I refuse to send another generation of American sons and daughters to fight a war that should end long ago."
Biden also said that the United States must face two lessons in its foreign policy and turn its attention to challenges from China and Russia.

CCP restricts minors from playing online games Industry: Limited effect
Editor : Liu Yi / Publisher : Radio Free Asia via The Epoch Times / https://www.epochtimes.com/gb/21/9/1/n13202304.htm
Image : On 3 August, the Chinese Communist Party’s official media published an article criticizing online games as "mental opium" and a new type of "drug", and the stocks of listed online game companies like Chinese Internet giant Tencent plummeted. The Chinese (CCP) authorities imposed strict restrictions on the time that minors can play online games on August 30. After the news came out, it caused heated public opinion on Zhihu, Weibo and other websites. In this regard, some people who have worked in China's online game industry for many years have analyzed and said that the actual effect of the Chinese (CPC) authorities is limited, and the negative effects are obvious.
The National Press and Publication Administration of China (CPC) issued the “Notice on Further Strict Management and Effective Prevention of Minors’ Indulging in Online Games” on 30 August, stating that online games can only be played on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and statutory holidays. From 8 to 9 in the evening, one-hour service is provided to minors. After the news came out, it caused an uproar in the public opinion.
Ryan Shi, now living in the western United States, is a senior practitioner in the online game development and operation industry. In an interview with this station on August 31, he said: “Before this policy came out, everyone in this industry had psychological expectations. Of course, the above policy is increasing pressure, but in fact, privately speaking, the game company still has some countermeasures, such as buying and selling mobile phone numbers with each other and borrowing an ID card to get a mobile phone number. Up to now, whether you register with your real name, you can't do real real names."
On Zhihu, a well-known Q&A website in China, this new policy on online games has aroused heated discussions among netizens. After discussing the official restrictions on minors from playing online games, the issue of whether console games and stand-alone games could "welcome the spring" has attracted as many as 1.08 million people in just 10 hours. Among them, the answer that received a lot of likes clearly opposes that single-player games will "welcome spring". This answer signed by "Wang Ruien" stated that the lack of border supervision by the government will lead to "all things being put under control, creating panic in the industry, and even destroying the vital part of the cultural industry."
Ryan Shi told reporters that although the current online game industry has a set of countermeasures against the official new policy of restricting minors, this new policy still brings obvious negative effects: "Who knows that there will be a new policy for the industry. More unfavorable policies, so it has a great impact on the stock market."
Recently, the Chinese (CCP) authorities have successively launched a series of actions against the online game industry, resulting in a decline in the stock prices of companies that use online games as an important source of income. For example, on August 3 this year, China's (CCP) Xinhua News Agency's "Economic Information Daily" published an article calling online games "spiritual opium", causing the A-share and Hong Kong stocks game sector to plummet by nearly 300 billion yuan. On August 30, following the release of the new policy of the Chinese (CCP) authorities to regulate online games, NetEase and Bilibili fell more than 8% and 5% in US stocks on the same day. However, on 31 August, NetEase and Bilibili showed an upward trend in the US stock market, with an increase of about 3%.
Ryan Shi said that online games are not only a video game, but also a social tool with an online chat function. He believes that the Chinese (CCP) authorities continue to monitor online games, and in fact they are also afraid of the social functions of online games: "The remarks made by many people in games are very, very difficult to monitor. This is also something the Communist Party is more afraid of. Weibo is well supervised, how do you supervise your game chat?"
On Weibo, the discussion about the authorities' restrictions on minors from playing online games is also quite lively, and most of them are negative comments. Some netizens believe that this kind of policy of the authorities will cause minors to spend extra time on video software such as Douyin and Kuaishou. However, some netizens expressed their support and even thought that allowing minors to play online games three hours a week "is still more", "one hour a week is good."
Hu Yao, 23 years old, is a Chinese student at the University of California, Davis. He said that he has been playing online games since he was a child. He believes that one of the major reasons for Chinese minors to play online games is that they need to relax under huge academic pressure. He said: "I think his design of this policy is very problematic, and it is also very inhuman. Many online games are indeed unnutritious, and then they encourage children to fill up money in them, but it cannot be ruled out that there are many high-quality ones. Games, or games with some themes and connotations in it. This one size fits all, there is no cure at all."
Hu Yao also believes that a more ordinary mentality should be adopted when dealing with video games: "What I know is that every branch of the University of California has its own e-sports team. Then I have a friend who played on the school team before. "Remains Defense" (click: the video game Dota) competition. I think it is actually a double-edged sword. If you are for entertainment, as long as you don’t indulge in it, I don’t think it is a big problem."
