Dong Nhu 6 Hotel is the hotel nearest to the airport cafes facing the flight path towards Tan Son Nhat Airport, Ho Chi Minh City. Most of Dong Nhu 6 Hotel staff speak in Vietnamese except for the bespectacled receptionist that goes all his way to settle my demand.
Deluxe Room with Balcony
The room with the balcony is so small that it is not possible to open the balcony. The space for standing on the balcony is not wide. I requested for the room change to the room with the flight path view. The balcony of that room is attached to the room but access is via the narrow door to the balcony and shooting photographs of aircraft flying towards the airport is possible between 5.44 am and 7 am and after check-in hours (from 2 pm onwards).
The hotel only sells this room to guests that check-in and does not sell it online. There were two such rooms on the day that I checked in and I topped up my payment with 50,000 Vietnamese Dong.
The cup noodles (Thai tom yam) in each room are available for payment at the concierge but overall, there is nothing to eat at the hotel as I do not eat seafood. I settle breakfast at Phen's Coffee a neighbouring airport cafe of about two minutes' walk from Dong Nhu 6 Hotel (160 m away).
One of the security guards lent me a bigger umbrella to withstand the heavy rain and I am grateful to the hotel security guard so that I do not get myself wet.
Motorcycle is available for rent at the hotel from 150,000 Vietnamese Dong.
Overall, Dong Nhu 6 Hotel is a kind hotel. It will be sad to see it closed down if Tan Son Nhat Airport were closed and replaced by the new airport in Long Thanh soon.
