The China Airlines pilots' infections have spread to Novotel Taoyuan Airport Hotel

The Taiwan Central Epidemic Command Center announced on 29 April 2021 that the director of the Novotel Hotel for China Airlines crew quarantine (Case 1120) is suffering from covid. He had visited a clinic 3 times before the diagnosis. The clinic on 28 April suspended business for disinfection.

It was reported that the hotel director was going to a clinic in Sanchong, New Taipei City and after that the clinic was disinfected on a large scale. In response, the New Taipei Health Bureau responded that everything was announced by the command centre.

The command centre commander Chen Shizhong said at a press conference this afternoon that Case 1120 is being treated in the intensive care unit. It may not be possible to clearly explain the recent footprints. Other investigation methods will be used to clarify the footprints.

At present, only medical institutions have been able to grasp the footprints, and health insurance registration information can be adjusted, and the contact persons can grasp it more clearly. Chen pointed out that all the cases went to the same clinic, and the clinic was asked to close the business last night.

Novotel Hotel’s director entered the ICU. Another 3 employees had fever and rushed to the doctor

The Taiwanese Anti-Epidemic Command Centre announced on 29 April two new cases of local covid, of which Case 1120 is an insider of the Novotel Taoyuan Airport Hotel of China Airlines.

Commander Chen Shizhong stated that Case 1120 is a mid-level supervisor of housekeeping management and is currently in the ICU. In the ward, three other employees in the hotel developed fever and were taken to the hospital. The command centre stated that Case 1120 is a 40-year-old man. He is an employee of an airport epidemic prevention hotel. He has no recent history of going abroad. His usual work activities include checking the cleanliness of the room environment, occasionally assisting the crew to buy items or send spare parts, wearing masks during work and gloves.

Case 1120 began to experience symptoms such as cough, runny nose, loss of appetite, and wheezing from 17 April and went to the clinic several times from 19 to 26 April. As the symptoms did not improve, from 27 April he went to the hospital, was diagnosed with pneumonia, and was admitted to hospital for isolation and examination. His diagnosis was confirmed today (Ct value 21, serum antibodies IgM and IgG are positive).

The command centre pointed out that Case 1120 lives alone. 107 contacts have been initially quarantined, including friends, workplace contacts, and medical contacts. Among them, 4 are listed in home isolation and 103 are listed in independent health management, which will continue. Investigations into the activity history and contact history of the case, and listing the possible contacts are ongoing.

Commander Chen Shizhong said that Case 1120 is in the ICU intensive care unit. He has had related symptoms since the 17th, and it is estimated that the infectious period should have started from 15 April.

In the Novotel Hotel, a total of 412 people need to be evacuated this time, including 207 employees, 109 China Airlines pilots, 76 foreign pilots, and 20 general guests. Among the 207 employees, in addition to the confirmed case of 1120, three people were sent to hospital for fever treatment.

Vietnamese cleaner diagnosed, completed two doses of vaccinations two months ago

According to Lianhe Zaobao, on 29 April 2021, there is a 39-year-old Vietnamese woman among the newly added community cases. She is currently unrelated to other cases. This patient has completed two doses of the SARS-CoV-2 (covi, novel coronavirus, CCP virus) vaccine by 19 February.

This woman is a cleaner who works in a community nursing facility in Tuas South and occasionally helps out at the cooked food stall at the Bukit Timah campus of the National University of Singapore.

The woman puts on a full set of protective equipment when cleaning in the nursing facility. She has no symptoms of covid and is diagnosed during periodic inspections.

The Ministry of Health pointed out in a statement that the woman’s previous rotating periodic tests were all negative, and only the results on 26 and 27 April are positive. Her serum result also tested positive but the authorities believe that she is currently infected.

The Ministry of Health said, "Although the covi vaccine can prevent most vaccinated people from showing symptoms, individuals who have been vaccinated may still be infected by the virus."

At least two wards under lock down, 8 more casualties of COVID-19 on 29 April 2021

According to Lianhe Zaobao, among the inpatients of the covid clusters at Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH), five are between 71 and 94 years old, and one patient is 57 years old. The 57-year-old man of Ward 9D is the first to show symptoms in the cluster. He had a fever on 16 April but did not seek medical attention. On the 18th, due to persistent fever, runny nose and cough, he went to the emergency department of Tan Tock Seng Hospital for treatment. He tested negative for covid at the time and was subsequently admitted to Ward 7D.

On 20 April, he was transferred to Ward 9D but his fever did not go away. After an infectious disease specialist diagnosed and treated him, he was transferred to an isolation ward on the 27th. He tested positive for covid on 28 April and was transferred to the National Centre for Infectious Diseases. His serological test was negative, which means he is currently infected.

The rest of the confirmed hospitalized patients were originally living in Ward 9D, which was discovered by the authorities through testing. Among them, a 71-year-old woman and a 79-year-old man developed fever or acute respiratory infection on 25 and 28 April respectively while the other three patients showed no symptoms.

Singapore's Ministry of Health said that TTSH has sealed off Ward 7D and Ward 9D, and inspections of staff and patients in the two wards are in progress. TTSH has not announced the identity of patients that were affected by the lock down of Ward 10B.

The hospital by the afternoon of 29 April has prohibited visitors to enter remaining wards for health safety and covi-containing reasons.

As of 29 April 2021, nine people have contracted covid in TTSH, including six hospitalized patients and three medical staff. The latest information shows that it is believed that a patient who was admitted to the hospital 10 days ago brought the virus into the relevant ward.

According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Health at night of 29 April, due to the emergence of a cluster of infections in Tan Tock Seng Hospital, coupled with a new cluster of infections at home, there has been a surge of 16 cases in the local community, the largest day in more than nine months. The last time there were multiple community cases is on 11 July 2020, when there are 24 cases on that day.

The Filipino nurse who was diagnosed earlier as well as the 30-year-old male doctor and 18-year-old female health assistant trainee, who were diagnosed the day on 28 April, work in Ward 9D. Among them, male doctors completed two doses of vaccination on 18 January and 8 February.

The nurses and doctors above developed symptoms on 27 April. The doctor had a fever that day and went to the general practice clinic for medical treatment and testing. The next day, he started to have a sore throat, the test result was positive, and later the serological test was negative. The health assistant trainee has no symptoms.

After locking down Ward 7D and Ward 9D, the staff and patients in the two wards are still being tested. All people who have been in close contact with the confirmed case will be quarantined, including patients, visitors and staff who have been to these two wards.

All patients and staff will be tested and treatments other than emergency cases are postponed

TTSH has strengthened supervision of patients with fever and symptoms of acute respiratory infection. For safety reasons, all patients and staff in other wards will be tested, including those who have not developed symptoms.

In addition, the activities of staff and patients in all major wards have been minimized to reduce the risk of infection. Since yesterday, the hospital will not accept any visitors except for visiting critically ill patients.

Except for emergency cases, all elective treatments will be postponed. Emergency cases that are not life-threatening are referred to other hospitals.

One of the confirmed patients at the Chen Tock Seng Hospital was 71-year-old Wang Jinzhu. According to The Straits Times, she was admitted to Ward 9D on 20 April due to rheumatoid arthritis. She developed cough and fever on 25 April.

As the fever lasted for a few days, Wang Jinzhu was tested for covid at noon on 28 April and was diagnosed at about 5 pm. She was scheduled to receive the first dose of vaccine on 28 April but she has not yet been vaccinated. Her husband, son, daughter and seven-year-old grandson who had visited her in the hospital have all been quarantined.

Wang Jinzhu's son (39 years old) said in a telephone interview with Lianhe Zaobao that she and her son are currently under quarantine in a hotel and are in good condition. The father fulfilled the quarantine order at home while the sister was quarantined in another hotel room.

The son, who did not want to be named, revealed that his mother had moved from Ward 9D  to another ward. He said, "Fortunately, my mother and I can keep in touch by phone. Her condition fluctuates. Although the fever has gone, she still vomits."

Taiwan tap water does not cause cancer as long as chlorine evaporates after the lid is opened

Cancer has been one of the top 10 causes of death for nearly 40 years, and the public has become disillusioned with cancer.

Recently, a Taiwanese elder's article has been circulated on a social network, saying that Taiwanese people are used to steaming in an electric pot, usually using tap water directly. According to the article, the chlorine in the tap water is evaporated and absorbed by the food, so it is easy to cause cancer.

Toxicologists said that this statement is an overstatement. The concentration of chlorine in tap water is low, and only one action can solve these doubts.

This elder's essay is full of pictures, and the title directly states that "Taiwanese suffer from more cancer and it is related to the electric cooker." The article stated that water is definitely used when steaming in an electric pot, and tap water is added to the outer pot. Chlorine in tap water is dangerous as it causes cancer, and electric pots are cooked in a closed lid, and the chlorine in tap water will be absorbed by food after it evaporates. It is recommended that one switches to filtered water that does not contain chlorine, or use boiled water to add to the outer pot, so that there is no risk of cancer.

The concentration of effective residual chlorine in Taiwan's tap water is very low.

Taiwan’s tap water has very low residual chlorine. According to Yang Zhenchang, Director of the Department of Clinical Toxicology and Occupational Medicine at the Taipei General Hospital, he said that according to the regulations of the Environmental Protection Agency, according to domestic drinking water  quality standards, the effective residual chlorine concentration in the water is 0.2 to 1.0PPM, and the effective residual chlorine concentration is very low and will not affect human health.

What everyone is worried about is the "trihalomethane" that is evaporated by heating the chlorinated water. Since the residual chlorine in the water is very low, the amount of trihalomethane produced is very small, which is not harmful to health.

Trihalomethane is not listed as a carcinogen, and there have been rumours on the Internet that "trihalomethane is a carcinogen." Yang Zhenchang said that this is simply wrong.

According to the classification of carcinogens by the International Agency for Research on Cancer under the World Health Organization, trihalomethanes are classified as level 2B, which is "low-probably carcinogenic to humans", that is, it has not been confirmed to be carcinogenic, so there is no need to worry about the future.

Substances that have been proven to be carcinogenic can cause cancer.

When tap water in Taiwan is boiled, the chlorine will evaporate, and it will be safe to cook if you open the lid. If you are really worried that the residual chlorine in tap water will affect the food cooked in the electric pot, as suggested in the elder’s article, "Use boiled water and cook in an external pot". It is a good way.

Yang Zhenchang said that the residual chlorine in tap water will evaporate with steam when the water is boiled. As long as you open the lid of the pot when boiling water or adding water to cook food, the residual chlorine will evaporate and no longer remain.

Fujian launches new measures to re-establish links with Kinmen

From 10 May 2021, the quarantine regulations on people entering Fujian from Kinmen will be relaxed.  The mainland announced in the afternoon of 29 April that in response to the needs of the broad masses of Taiwanese people, it will promote personnel exchanges between Fujian and Taiwan. The Fujian Provincial Government announced that starting from 10 May, Taiwanese people will take convenient measures to travel to Fujian.

As soon as the news came out, Kinmen public response is polarized. Some people think it should be opened long ago but some people worry that there may be a breach in the epidemic prevention measures.

Regarding this, Kinmen County Magistrate Yang Zhenwu is optimistic about its success and will respond publicly later. People from Kinmen can enter Fujian without quarantine as long as they live there for 28 days, they can come to Fujian through the "mini three links" direct passenger port, which is regarded as entering the low-risk areas of the mainland where the Fujian personnel are managed without isolation.

Those who enter the country must provide the "Personal Health Commitment for Taiwanese Compatriots" (valid evidence that there is no history of residence in Kinmen or other areas outside Matsu 28 days before entry), a valid certificate of negative nucleic acid test within 7 days before entry issued by medical institutions in Kinmen, Mainland Travel Permit for Taiwan Residents or Residence Permit for Taiwan Residents, etc.

The Fujian authority said that from 10 May, Fujian Province will target those who urgently need to come to Fujian to work, carry out important business and exchange activities, and to come to Fujian through the Xiamen-Taipei passenger air route.

Taiwanese people have implemented the convenient measures of "2 days of centralized medical observation + 19 days of closed-loop management", meaning that they can be converted to "19-day closed-loop management" after 2 days of centralized isolation, that is, between the accommodation and the workplace.

Kinmen County Magistrate Yang Zhenhu is optimistic about the restart of the mini three links, and he also calls on the central government to pay attention to it. He had previously proposed specific epidemic prevention actions to the central government, reiterating that under the condition that the epidemic is controllable and epidemic prevention is safe. It is everyone's hope that Fujian and Kinmen can re-establish links with each other.

In response to the measures proposed by the land side today, he felt the goodwill of the other side, which can be used as some preliminary preparations for the further resumption of exchanges and exchanges between the two sides of the strait as the epidemic eases, calling on the central government to respond clearly and kindly.

CCP officials confirmed: China has found the India variant virus

Reporter : Xiao Jing / Editor: Mei Lan / https://www.ntdtv.com/gb/2021/04/29/a103107173.html / Direct translation

The Chinese Communist Party officially confirmed on Thursday (29 April) that there were 10 new confirmed cases of covid from India. The recent rapid spread of the pandemic in India has aroused international concerns.

The official website of the National Health Commission of the Communist Party of China reported on Thursday that there were 20 new confirmed cases in a single day on 28 February, of which Zhejiang accounted for 11 cases. The official website of the Zhejiang Health Commission showed that among the 11 newly confirmed cases, except for one asymptomatic infection who was previously imported from Indonesia, the other 10 cases were all from India.

According to a report from the Zhoushan Municipal Health Commission of Zhejiang Province, 10 Chinese crew members were diagnosed on a freighter docked in Zhoushan. This cargo ship is borrowed from Hong Kong. Since the beginning of this year, it has travelled to Chittagong in Bangladesh, Kakinada in India, Singapore, and Xiamen in China.

The notification also stated that the 10 confirmed cases and 1 asymptomatic infection were transferred to designated hospitals for diagnosis and treatment on 28 April while the remaining 9 Chinese crew members continued to stay on board for observation.

Wu Zunyou, chief epidemiology expert of the Chinese Communist Party’s Center for Disease Control and Prevention, said at a State Council press conference on Thursday that the prevention and control of the CCP virus epidemic is “far from over”, and some Chinese cities have detected cases carrying the Indian mutant strain. People are both concerned and worried.

Wu Zunyou emphasized that since the pandemic, virus mutation has continued to occur. “As long as the epidemic does not stop, the virus is mutating.” Therefore, during and after the “May 1st” period, the most important thing is to insist on implementing “normalized prevention and control”. Remind the public to "don't take it lightly, and always tighten the string of epidemic prevention and control."

In the past half month, the CCP virus has ravaged India, causing the number of new cases in a single day to reach new highs, and the number of deaths in a single day exceeded 3,000 for the first time on Tuesday (27th). Indian medical institutions have run out of oxygen and intensive care unit beds. Due to the rapid increase in deaths caused by the epidemic, "temporary crematoriums" can be seen everywhere. In the past week, the crematorium in the capital New Delhi alone has cremated more than 600 bodies every day.

At present, more than 40 countries have pledged to provide oxygen to India. The Indian military has begun to transport critical supplies such as oxygen tanks across the country, and will open its medical facilities to civilians; hotels and passenger carriages have also been converted into intensive care facilities to make up for the shortage of hospital beds.

In addition, the World Health Organization (WHO) said on Tuesday that the variant virus strain B.1.617 that ravaged India has appeared in at least 17 countries.

According to the WHO, as of April 27, B.1.617 variant strains have been found in more than 1,200 viral gene sequences uploaded to the Global Influenza Data Initiative (GISAID) database. These gene sequences come from at least 17 countries, most of which are India, the United Kingdom, the United States and Singapore.

Mutated virus strains from India were discovered in many places in China. Netizens: The virus has returned to her natal home

Reporter : Li Yun / Editor : Dai Ming / https://www.ntdtv.com/gb/2021/04/30/a103107447.html / Extract translation, editing : Gan Yung Chyan, KUCINTA SETIA

Recently, CCP officials revealed that China has detected variant strains from India in many places and warned that epidemic prevention is far from over. In this regard, some netizens said, “All the virus strains came from the Communist Party, and now the virus has returned to their parents’ home.”

On 29 April, Wu Zunyou, chief epidemiology expert of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, commented at a press conference of the State Council of the Communist Party of China that the rapid rise of the epidemic in India and  some Asian countries, "it should be said that it has once again sounded the alarm 'The epidemic prevention and control is far from over.'"

Wu Zunyou revealed that Indian mutant strains have been detected in some cities in China. In fact, virus mutations have been occurring since the epidemic. As long as the epidemic continues, the virus is mutating. Therefore, the implementation of epidemic prevention measures is the most critical, and the mutant strains can be terminated. The epidemic can also prevent the occurrence of new mutations.

He also warned that the "May 1st" holiday is approaching, and the epidemic prevention work may face new difficulties. At this time, "the implementation of prevention and control measures is the most critical." However, he did not specify which cities in China have the Indian mutant strains.

Netizens condemned that the CCP "owns all the virus strains"

In response to this, Weibo netizens asked, "Which cities have the virus strains appeared in?", "Which cities...have been detected to have mutated viruses and should be revealed to the public." Look at the indicators".

Some netizens also questioned, "Where did the Indian mutant virus come from? Wasn't it blocked during entry?"

Some Chinese netizens condemned that the CCP "owns all the virus strains, and all the virus strains come from there." Some netizens also said, "In fact, they are all variants of the CCP virus. Some netizens said that on the surface, Beijing claimed that the so-called Indian variant virus spread to the mainland, but in fact it was a three-generation "Wuhan virus" that was transmitted back, and the virus returned to their parents' home.

Variant viruses appear in many places in China

The Chinese Communist Party officially announced that 20 new cases were confirmed on 28 April. Among them, the Zhejiang Health Commission announced that 10 cases came from the Hong Kong cargo ship "Huayang Chaoyang", which had anchored in India. On the same day, the Chinese Communist Party in Chongqing announced that one case had a history of working in India but it did not specify the type of virus variant that the person had contracted.

On 27 April, Yang Zhanqiu, a professor at the Institute of Virology of Wuhan University Medical School, warned that if the pandemic in India continues, the possibility of spreading to China exists, but he denied that “an outbreak similar to India” will occur in China.

India's second wave of epidemic worsens rapidly

At present, the second wave of CCP virus epidemic in India is rapidly deteriorating. As of 29 April, India had a total of 18.38 million confirmed cases of the CCP virus and a total of 204,832 deaths. On the same day, nearly 380,000 infections were added, continuously setting a global record.

The country’s disease control experts estimate that the country’s epidemic peak may be in early May.

The World Health Organization (WHO) warned that the Indian variant virus "B.1.617", one of the causes of the out-of-control epidemic in India, has been found in at least 17 countries. This variant virus is more dangerous than the original virus, which means it is easier to spread, more deadly, or has the ability to evade vaccines.

The CCP virus did not break out in Wuhan in 2019. As the CCP concealed the epidemic, before mid-January 2020, the CCP falsely claimed three times that the epidemic was preventable and controllable and would not spread from person to person, and arrested frontline doctors who broke the news of the epidemic.

On 23 January 2020, after Wuhan was suddenly locked down due to the epidemic, the World Health Organization (WHO) postponed the announcement of the epidemic as an “international public health emergency”. It was not until 11 March that the "global pandemic" was announced. As a result, the pandemic went out of control and spread rapidly all over the world. The CCP virus has infected more than 140 million people worldwide and killed more than 3.1 million people.

Chinese vaccinators are abnormal and related information is silenced

Reporters : Chen Han, Li Yun and Wang Yizhen / https://www.ntdtv.com/gb/2021/04/30/a103107724.html / Direct translation

First of all, the European Union’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a report accusing the CCP of replacing "mask diplomacy" with "vaccine diplomacy" and boasting about the benefits of domestic vaccines. However, Chinese vaccinators revealed that many vaccinators had abnormalities and related information was regarded as confidential.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the European Union issued a report on 28 April, stating that the CCP and Russia have used social media accounts to slander the effectiveness of the CCP virus developed by Western countries through social media accounts since the beginning of 2021, and at the same time strengthen the benefits of their own vaccines.

The report also alleged that the CCP replaced "mask diplomacy" with "vaccine diplomacy."

Lai Jianping, a master of international law from China University of Political Science and Law, said that the CCP uses double standards to evaluate Europe and the United States when it comes to dealing with the epidemic and vaccines.

Lai Jianping, Master of International Law, China University of Political Science and Law, said, “For vaccines in Europe and the United States, they exaggerate a little side effect or individual phenomena infinitely. On the contrary, the so-called vaccines developed by their own countries are good news but not bad news. Obviously very serious side effects, they may be hidden."

While promoting vaccine diplomacy internationally, the CCP also threatens to lure people into vaccines at home.

Mr. Wang, a citizen of Wuxi, said that their street director said that vaccinating is a task, and it is difficult to do without an inch, and even subject to legal sanctions.

Mr. Wang said, "You live in the party-state, and your body is not yours, so you must fight. There are rewards for fighting. If you don't fight, you will be punished. If you don't get a vaccine, you can't even buy train tickets."

Mr. Wang said that they rewarded 200 yuan for the vaccine, but many people complained of various adverse side effects.

On 29 April, some tweets said that some places gave 500 RMB to get a vaccine, and released a video of a Chinese woman who was paralyzed after getting the vaccine.

According to Radio Free Asia, Mr. Mu, a vaccination volunteer in China, reported that after receiving domestic vaccines, many people found severe decline in physical fitness, loss of male sexual function, and the onset of chronic diseases among residents. Volunteers were asked to explain to residents that these symptoms were a normal physical reaction.

Mr. Mu also said that every abnormal case must be reported to the superior for feedback, but he will never talk to the outside world.

So far, the CCP has notified more than 204 million doses of vaccination across the country, but the notification has not mentioned any deaths.

However, death cases are frequently exposed online. On 22 April, Yonhap News reported that a South Korean national living in Shanghai died on the 19th after being vaccinated in China. On 15 April, a netizen named "Shanxia Hanezi" said that his 28-year-old brother died after being vaccinated with the Sinopharm Group's Beisheng inactivated vaccine in Shenzhen.

Some Twitter netizens broke the news that a worker in the Beijing Sany Heavy Industry Workshop received the Kexing vaccine on 21 March and died on 23 March. Some netizens said that someone in Tianjin No. 1 Hospital died suddenly after being vaccinated 2 days, etc...

A security guard at Ion Orchard on Orchard Road has been diagnosed with COVID-19. The mall said that this security guard worked at the command center and rarely touched customers. He had no symptoms when he went to work on the 27th of this month.

8world News reported earlier that seven family members of Changi Airport ICA staff were diagnosed with the infection. They had a dinner on the 25th of this month, and the infection may have occurred on the same day. One of them is a 39-year-old man who works as a security guard in Ion Orchard, and is also a private car driver.

Ion Orchard posted on the Facebook page this afternoon (30 April) that the patient worked in the command centre and had very little contact with customers. He had no symptoms when he went to work on the morning of the 27th of this month. During the period of duty, he was notified that his family members tested positive for covid, and he was subsequently quarantined.

The post read: "We have been working closely with the authorities to trace contacts. Colleagues who have been in close contact with the security guard have been quarantined and required to be tested. In addition, a licensed cleaning company has been thoroughly disinfecting the workplace."

Ion Orchard stated that the health and well-being of customers, tenants and employees is the primary consideration. Since last year, the mall has strengthened the cleaning and sanitation of public spaces, frequent cleaning during business hours, and thorough cleaning at the end of the business. The mall will continue to work closely with the Ministry of Health and relevant authorities and take necessary preventive measures.

Novotel Hotel infection expands again, 777 people must be tracked and quarantined

Taoyuan Mayor Zheng Wencan said today that in response to the needs of the Novotel Taoyuan Airport Hotel crews for epidemic prevention hotels, they have coordinated 3 epidemic prevention hotels to provide rooms. As for Novotel’s retrospective guest portion from the 15th to the 28th, preliminary statistics shows that there are 777 people, of which 285 are registered in Taoyuan. Thus, China Airlines pilots' infection cases have expanded, including the Novotel China Airlines Taoyuan Airport Hotel in Taipei where China Airlines crew members were quarantined.

One supervisor and three employees have been diagnosed with covid. The command centre today also announced multiple footprints of the confirmed cases. Zheng Wencan held a temporary epidemic prevention meeting this afternoon. After the meeting, he said in a joint interview with the media that a total of 20 people were diagnosed with the same infection of China Airlines pilots and Novotel employees. He commented Taoyuan needs to establish a defense line and the community's epidemic prevention level needs to be improved.

Zheng Wencan said that the first is the mandatory wearing of masks in the eight major indoor places, and the city government will persuade them. The second is that the government must adopt a joint system, take body temperature and wear masks. The third is large-scale activities, with a single indoor 500. Priority is given to the norms of 1,000 people in outdoor areas. He said, "At present, municipal government units are taking the lead and have not yet expanded to the private sector." However, it is still hoped that the private sector can maintain safe distancing and reduce group activities.

Finally, it is related to personal safety protection. Novotel is a complicated place. Zheng Wencan said that the Novotel Hotel has been emptied and a total of 412 people have been placed in 6 centralized quarantine stations. Currently, 2 of the 4 confirmed cases are living in Taoyuan. The city government has fully grasped the footprints and has also implemented necessary quarantine measures. He said that in the retrospective part of Novotel, the tenants who have lived between 15 and 28 April will be tracked and quarantined.

According to preliminary statistics, among the 777 people, the 285 registered in Taoyuan are only dining or participating in activities at a wedding banquet, which has not been included, but still calls for independent health management. Zheng said that after the China Airlines Novotel Taoyuan Airport Hotel was emptied, the crew members who returned to China Airlines still needed anti-epidemic hotels.

Therefore, the city government coordinated 3 anti-epidemic hotels and provided 300 rooms. At present, 65 crew members have moved in and have requested to watch. The travel bureau and the epidemic prevention hotel must thoroughly isolate and provide services, and the staff must wear isolation gowns and gloves to reduce the risk of the epidemic at the hotels.

Zheng Wencan said that some of the family contacts of the antibody-positive pilots are studying at Taoyuan Ximen and Jinxing Elementary Schools. Currently, more than 50 students are undergoing examinations, and so far they are all negative. There are currently 204 contacts related to case 1112.

The senior class at Zhongpu Elementary School was suspended, and about 103 people were placed in isolation at the Amanda Ballroom in Zhongli.

Zheng Wencan also said, "If the crew has stayed overnight at the outer station and left the plane, they are not allowed to board the airplane. If they do not enter the country for a short distance and do not spend the night at the outer station, they must have a health declaration before they can board the airplane. The heaviest fine can be NT$1 million.”  Meanwhile the 20 staff members of the Taoyuan MRT A14a Airport Hotel Station do not provide cross-station support and are included in independent health management. Yale-NUS student diagnosed, students living in the same dormitory have to be isolated for a week

A student from Yale-NUS College has been diagnosed with the CCP virus. The school requires students who live in the same dormitory with him to self-isolate for one week.

"Today" reported that according to two emails sent by the school, the student living in the dormitory of Cendana College A began to develop symptoms of covid on Monday (26 April). After being tested the day before 28 April, he was diagnosed on 29 April. Close contact tracing work is in progress.

The college told 8world News that the student is currently undergoing treatment in the hospital, and the places he has visited within the campus have been thoroughly cleaned and disinfected. The college is also keeping in touch with him and giving necessary help.

The email mentioned that the school requires all those who live in the dormitory to isolate themselves in the room for seven days until 12 pm on 7 May. As for those who have been to this dormitory between 24 and 29 April, if they are now at home, they can continue to be isolated at home; if there are old and weak women and children in the home, they can also return to the dormitory for isolation.

During the isolation period, they can only leave the room briefly to do necessary things, such as washing clothes or picking up takeaways. The dormitory canteen will also deliver meals to their rooms. Affected students are required to change to online classes and inform their professors that they have also been given absentee leave.

The college warned that any student who violated the law will be punished with disciplinary action, including expulsion from the dormitory, suspension of education and even expulsion from the institution.

Local reappearance of clusters attracts attention, Expert: Covid fatigue may cause slack in epidemic prevention

In recent days, new clusters have appeared frequently in Singapore, and even the first hospital cluster has appeared, causing concern. The infectious disease experts interviewed pointed out that covid fatigue may cause people to relax in epidemic prevention, and the disease may spread at this time.

There were a total of eight new infection clusters in the past two weeks, and two new infection clusters appeared at the same time on 29 APril, including the first nosocomial infection cluster involving medical staff and patients in Tan Tock Seng Hospital.

Leong Hoa Nam, an infectious disease specialist at the Elizabeth Novena Hospital, pointed out that Singapore has been fighting against COVID-19 for a long time, and many people have become tired of the epidemic, which may cause some people to relax in epidemic prevention. "Like other infectious diseases, covid usually spreads when someone slightly ignores epidemic prevention measures."

News (18)

Vaccination cannot completely prevent transmission

Recently, there have been many local cases of people who have been vaccinated against SARS-CoV-2 and have enough time to develop immunity, including the newly diagnosed doctors and nurses of Tan Tock Seng Hospital. People cannot help but wonder, how effective is the vaccine?

Dr. Leong pointed out that the CCP virus vaccine is not 100% effective, and the effective rate of Pfizer vaccine is about 95%. Therefore, it is still possible to contract covid after vaccination.

In addition, he pointed out that vaccinated people may not have enough antibodies to fight the virus. About 2% of people may have this condition after being vaccinated, so they may still be infected.

He suggested that perhaps the authorities should conduct further inspections for all medical personnel to determine whether they have enough antibodies in their bodies and whether they need a third dose of vaccine.

News (19)

Vaccination can still reduce the risk of severe illness

Nevertheless, Dr. Leong still recommends that everyone be vaccinated to achieve herd immunity. It is not possible to relax the epidemic prevention measures until the vaccination rate in Singapore reaches more than 90%.

"If most people have been vaccinated and immunized, then the risk of covid will be reduced, and the risk of serious sequelae after contracting covid will also be reduced. At that time, the infection of covid will become like an infection epidemic. It’s the same as a cold."

Professor Dale Forsell, a senior consultant in the Department of Infectious Diseases of the National University Hospital, pointed out that the clusters at Tan Tock Seng Hospital actually proved that everyone should be vaccinated.

"We have always emphasized that everyone should be vaccinated. Although the SARS-CoV-2 vaccine cannot prevent 100% of the milder covid and the spread of covi, it can prevent death and serious illness."

News (20)

Medical staff are infected with the disease, and the people cannot relax

Dr. Leong said that as the authorities start tracking work, it is believed that more related cases will emerge in the future. The clusters at Tan Tock Seng Hospital are worthy of attention, because it was the medical staff who were diagnosed, and the medical staff should have been accustomed to epidemic prevention measures, such as wearing masks, but they were still infected.

"If medical personnel who are accustomed to epidemic prevention measures may be infected, let alone our ordinary people? So we can't relax. Everyone is responsible for epidemic prevention, and everyone must always follow epidemic prevention measures. If one of them is not careful, it will easily spread to others."

Dr. Leong also hopes that everyone will not blame the confirmed medical staff because they are on the front line and face a higher risk of covi infection.

Dr. Leong and Professor Forsell also said that they hoped that the authorities could find out how the nurse who was the first to be diagnosed was infected and whether it was she who infected other people. Dr. Leong ended, "This incident will let all hospitals on the island serve as a warning to avoid recurrence and re-discuss the hospital's epidemic prevention measures."

Live show mantra! Brazil's Minister of Economy: China's vaccine will not work

Reporter : Jinshi / https://www.ntdtv.com/gb/2021/04/30/a103108096.html / Direct translation

80% of the vaccines used in Brazil are China's Kexing vaccines. But a few days ago, the Brazilian Minister of Economy said frankly that China's vaccine is not as effective as the United States. He also said that China created the virus.

Brazil’s Minister of Economy, Guedes said, “China (co) invented the novel coronavirus, and their vaccine is not as effective as the United States.”

Brazilian Economy Minister Paulo Guedes' remarks this week shocked public opinion. Guedes did not know that the meeting was being broadcast live. After the meeting, the Brazilian Ministry of Health immediately withdrew the film. But Guedes’s remarks have spread across the Internet.

Brazil’s Minister of Economy, Guedes, said, “China (total) invented the novel coronavirus, and their vaccine is not as effective as the United States. Americans have invested 100 years in research, and Pfizer vaccines are better than others.”

Guedes is believed to have unintentionally confided the truth. Brazil currently has four vaccines for the public to vaccinate, but 80% of them are China's Sinovac vaccine. The Minister of Economy himself also played the Koxing vaccine.

Brazilian President Posonaro said in October last year that he decided not to buy Chinese vaccines because he did not believe in the safety of Chinese vaccines. But then because of the surge in cases in Brazil, the Brazilian government had no choice but to purchase 100 million doses of Sinovac in January this year. Up to now, Brazil has had more than 400,000 deaths due to the CCP virus, ranking second in the world.

In fact, Brazil is also an overseas experimental base for Chinese vaccines during this epidemic. From July to December last year, the clinical trial of China's Sinovac vaccine was conducted in Brazil. The Brazilian research institute announced the results in April this year. The protective effect of the Kexing vaccine was 50.7%, just stepping on the WHO approval line.

Due to the limited supply of vaccines produced in European and American countries, many low- and middle-income countries turn to China to purchase vaccines. However, the safety of China's vaccines is another concern. In Hong Kong, there have been 25 deaths after vaccination, of which 21 were vaccinated with Sinovac and 4 were vaccinated with BioNTech. Mainland China has been vaccinated 204 million times and no deaths have been reported, but the transparency of China's information has always been questioned by the outside world.

On Thursday, the latest batch of 1 million doses of Pfizer vaccine arrived in Brazil, and Brazil’s Minister of Health Queroga personally witnessed the arrival at the airport.

Marcelo Queroga, Brazil’s Minister of Health, said, “Vaccines are synonymous with hope, and hope to end this epidemic.”

Due to vaccine shortages, some cities in Brazil had to suspend vaccination plans. The arrival of the new vaccine will alleviate the urgent needs of the Brazilian government.

Covid outbreak at TTSH: 1 nurse, 1 doctor and 3 patients diagnosed positive

A nurse at Tan Tock Seng Hospital is diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 (covi, novel coronavirus, CCP virus) on 28 April 2021, and a doctor and three hospitalized patients in the same ward are initially confirmed positive with covi. This is the first time a hospital of Singapore has reported a covid outbreak.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Health, the 62541st 46-year-old Filipino female nurse is one of the three new community cases added on 28 April 2021.

This female nurse working in the 9D general ward had symptoms of cough, sore throat and body aches on 27 April 2021. She was diagnosed after seeing a doctor on the same day, and the serum test results have not yet been released.

She received the first dose of covi vaccine on 26 January and the second dose of  the vaccine on 18 February 2021.

Tan Tock Seng Hospital immediately closed the affected ward and conducted tests for the patients and medical staff who had been to this ward. At present, four people have been initially diagnosed, one doctor and three patients.

Just in case, all medical staff who have treated these patients, as well as visitors, patients and medical staff who have been to this ward will be quarantined.

The authorities have launched investigations and contact tracing. As the authorities are still conducting further tests on the four initially confirmed cases, they have not been included in 28 April's new cases.

Three affected wards of TTSH under lock down as at 10.30 am on 29 April 2021

Report by : Gan Yung Chyan, KUCINTA SETIA

At 10.30 am, the callback from Tan Tock Seng Hospital reveals that Wards 9D, 7D and 10B are locked down until further notice. The public can still visit the TTSH Medical Centre and other wards.

Tan Tock Seng Hospital did not specify initially which ward is under lock down in its social media announcement. The hospital staff refused to reveal which ward is under lock down during a phone enquiry. According to the announcement below, three patients and two staff of the ward have been infected with SARS-CoV-2, the CCP virus that causes covid.

In the afternoon of 29 April 2021, based on Channel News Asia's latest report, TTSH does not allow any visitors to enter its wards until further notice in order to contain covi transmission and protect the remaining hospital staff and patients. According to the Ministry of Health, as of 5 pm of 29 April, 8 more community covid cases have been detected in the hospital.

TTSH  issued a "visiting ban" after lock down, relatives and friends can ask the hospital to deliver necessities

Reporter : Chen Chenghui / https://www.8world.com/news/singapore/article/ttsh-visitors-can-ask-hospital-to-help-send-necessities-1462541 / Translation, editing : Gan Yung Chyan, KUCINTA SETIA / Image : Next to TTSH are the premises of the National Centre of Infectious Diseases

Tan Tock Seng Hospital has banned visitors from today (29 April) after medical staff and patients were successively diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2. If visitors want to deliver necessities to patients, they can ask the hospital to do it for them.

When a reporter from "8world News" visited TTSH at about 1.30 pm today, he found that there were only a few people waiting outside, and several taxis entered and left the hospital to pick up passengers.

These people waiting outside originally wanted to visit hospitalized patients, but they closed their doors because the hospital issued a "visiting ban".

A man who did not want to be named told "8world News" that he arrived at the hospital at 10.45 am and was about to pick up his grandmother from the hospital. At that time, there was a long queue at the hospital's registration counter.

"At that time, I only knew that the hospital had restricted the number of visitors, but after 12 noon, I learned from the news that the hospital had not allowed visitors to enter."

The hospital originally announced earlier that only two designated visitors would be allowed to visit during the patient’s hospital stay. It was announced after 12 pm to completely prohibit visitors from entering the wards.

According to what the reporter learned from the hospital staff, the hospital currently only allows those patients who have already made appointments to consult doctors and those with more serious illnesses will still be admitted to the hospital. If visitors want to deliver food or necessities to patients, they can let the hospital do it for them.

However, the adjacent Centre for Geriatric Medicine still allows a relative to accompany the patient.

Sadovanan, who visited his wife in the hospital, said that he entered the hospital lobby smoothly this morning, but was later told that he could not enter the ward, and then he was asked to leave the hospital.

He learned from his wife that the hospital is arranging related people to undergo covid testing but the wife is not living in the affected ward. So there is no need for testing.

A visitor from the hospital said that the situation inside the hospital seemed to be under control and there was no chaos.

Taiwan adds 3 new local confirmed covid cases, China Airlines pilots' infections continue to expand

Report by : Gan Yung Chyan, KUCINTA SETIA

The Taiwan Epidemic Command Center held a press conference on 28 April 2021 to announce that there were 3 newly confirmed covid cases in Taiwan, of which 2 were the family members of the previously announced China Airlines sero-positive pilot, and the other was an inbound case. They are non-resident family members of confirmed cases.

The China Airlines covid outbreak among its pilots has further expanded. So far, since 20 April 2021, China Airlines has nine cargo pilots diagnosed with covid, and 4 pilots’ families have been diagnosed.

The command centre pointed out that based on the current investigation results, the risk of covid spreading in the community is very low but in order to be cautious, it will investigate confirmed cases and the activity history of seropositive persons and provide free viral nucleic acid and serum antibodies to relevant close contacts. Checks are carried out to understand their health and protect their surrounding relatives and friends.

On the same day, Taiwan added 3 new confirmed cases of inbound covid, entering from Indonesia and India respectively.

According to statistics from the Taiwan anti-epidemic command center, Taiwan now has 1,116 confirmed covid cases. Of the confirmed cases, 12 died, 1,050 had declared covi-negative at the end of their quarantine period, and 54 are hospitalized in isolation.

The family of a Singaporean woman who had  fever but tested negative for SARS-CoV-2 was rejected from the cruise

Image : Royal Caribbean cruise ship "Quantum of the Seas" (by Dong Lixuan. Web Screenshot)

A Singaporean woman was tested twice for SARS-CoV-2 after having a fever. The results were both negative. One week after she recovered, she was originally scheduled to take a cruise on vacation but her family and she were refused entry to  the ship.

Ms. Ho told 8world that she went to a doctor last Tuesday (20 April) due to a fever and underwent a Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test. Fortunately, the result was negative and the fever subsided the next day.

She was originally scheduled to board the Royal Caribbean International cruise ship Quantum of the Seas on 26 April to go to sea for vacation. So last Saturday (24 April) another PCR test was performed, and the result was also negative.

The morning before yesterday, when she was about to set off to the terminal, she filled out a health statement, declaring that she had a fever a week ago, and was prompted by the system to be unable to travel.

Ms. Ho then called to inquire but the customer service staff did not explain clearly. She decided to go to the pier to seek clarity but was told that passengers would not be able to board the ship as long as they declared that they had had a fever in the past 14 days. They should have checked first before deciding whether to proceed for the trip.

News (10)

Brothers and parents who live in different places were also rejected

What puzzled her the most was that although her brother and parents did not live with her and they were denied the cruise, her father-in-law and mother-in-law were allowed to go to sea.

Ms. Ho’s younger brother, Mr. Ho, revealed that he and his parents did not receive any notice. They were told that they were “close contacts of suspected cases of covid” after arriving at the pier. So they could not board the ship.

Image: Provided by the respondent

Mr. He said, “It’s very strange that we don’t live together, nor did they call to ask us when we last saw her, so they decided that we were 'close contacts'. She has been tested. Then her father-in-law and mother-in-law can board the cruise?"

News (11)

Cruise company: Women unable to board the ship due to symptoms

When inquired, Angie Stephen, the executive director of Royal Caribbean International Asia Pacific, said that Ms. Ho did have symptoms of covid within the specified time and therefore could not board the ship, and her daughter, maid, younger brother and parents had all suffered from covid. People with symptoms are also unable to travel.

Regarding how the company determined that Ms. Ho had contact with her brother and parents, and why her father-in-law and mother-in-law were allowed to travel, Angie Stephen did not provide any explanation.

Angie Stephen also said that passengers will be notified of covi-related tests and physical health requirements before and after booking a cruise. The Royal Caribbean website also details the relevant travel terms and the standards that passengers need to meet when going to sea.

However, the reporter of 8world News after inquiring about the relevant website found that the website only stated that if the company observes or the passengers have experienced related symptoms, the passengers will not be able to board the ship but it did not mention the 14-day period for related symptoms.

Image: Screenshot of Royal Caribbean International website

News (12)

It is not the first time that a passenger has arrived to know that it is impossible to travel

Although the sisters and brothers of the Ho family understand the special handling methods of the cruise company under the  pandemic, they are still very disappointed by the failure of their trip. They think this is an "unexpected disaster" and also believe that the cruise company has insufficient communication.

Mr. Ho said that if the cruise company informs him and his parents in advance, they do not need to go to the cruise centre. They were told that they could not board the ship until they arrived at the cruise centre with holiday mood, which made them even more disappointed and dissatisfied.

A reporter from 8world News found on the cruise company's Facebook page that this is not the first time that the company has passengers who have arrived at the cruise centre before being told that they cannot make the trip.

Mr. Ho also believes that such strict regulations of Royal Caribbean may cause some passengers to not seek medical attention immediately when they have cold symptoms two weeks before the cruise departure. This practice may inadvertently make epidemic prevention work more difficult.

Thrombosis after contracting covid! Research: Nearly 100 times that of ordinary people

Image : The probability of cerebral venous thrombosis after contracting covid is 10 times that of AZ vaccine and 100 times that of ordinary people. (Shutterstock)

Recently, Johnson & Johnson vaccines and AstraZeneca (AZ) vaccines have caused side effects of cerebral venous thrombosis (CVT), causing global concern. However, a recent study by the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom found that the incidence of cerebral venous thrombosis after contracting covid is 10 times that of AZ vaccine and 100 times that of ordinary people.

The probability of thrombosis after being infected with SARS-CoV-2 is nearly 100 times that of ordinary people
The University of Oxford in the United Kingdom recently conducted a study to analyze the incidence of cerebral venous thrombosis in nearly 540,000 patients with new crowns. The results show that out of every million people, about 42.8 people have cerebral venous thrombosis, which is nearly 100 times the incidence of the general population.

In the general population, the incidence of cerebral venous thrombosis is 0.53 to 0.77 per million.

The researchers also compared the probability of thrombosis after the vaccine. According to the European Medicines Agency (EMA), the probability of thrombosis after AZ vaccine is 5 people per million. The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) pointed out that the probability of thrombosis after vaccinating Johnson & Johnson is 0.9 people/100 ten thousand people.

News (15)

Is the blood clot caused by the SARS-CoV-2 the same as the blood clot as a side effect of the vaccine?

Infection with SARS-CoV-2 and vaccination will increase the risk of thrombosis. Are they the same thing?

"Actually, the mechanisms behind the two are different." Dong Yuhong, a European virologist and chief scientist of a biotechnology company, said that blood clots in patients infected with the virus are a pathological reaction. The main reason is that SARS-CoV-2 (CCP virus, covi) directly attacks blood vessels, damages vascular endothelium, or causes a cytokine storm, which puts the blood in a hypercoagulable state and produces thrombus. There are also some secondary factors, including taking drugs, using Yekeme (membrane lung) for emergency treatment, bed rest, and advanced age, which can also increase the risk of thrombosis.

The vaccinated people are healthy people, and they are not the same concept as patients. According to the current research, the blood clot problem after the administration of AZ vaccine and Johnson & Johnson vaccine is the autoimmune reaction induced by the vaccine.

In other words, "After these healthy people were vaccinated, their own immune system was stimulated, which in turn attacked their own blood components," Dong Yuhong explained. The immune system produces antibodies to the platelets, which causes the platelets to be abnormally activated, which leads to severe decline and exhaustion, causing abnormal blood coagulation.

Be wary of 6 major thrombotic symptoms after injecting the CCP virus vaccine

Nowadays, AZ vaccine and Johnson & Johnson vaccine have been confirmed to have thrombotic side effects but European and American officials have stated that vaccination still has more advantages than disadvantages for the public and can help prevent the covi infection, so the administration resumed. However, the CDC recommends that you be vigilant if you experience any of the following symptoms after the vaccination:

1. Persistent headache. When blood vessels are blocked in the brain, local tissues and nerves are stimulated, which can cause pain symptoms.

2. New neurological symptoms, such as blurred vision, nausea and vomiting. This type of symptom will occur when venous thrombosis compresses the cranial nerves, causing brain tissue edema and increased intracranial pressure.

3. Severe abdominal pain and backache. The side effects of thrombosis caused by the vaccine are mainly cerebral venous thrombosis, but also other types and other parts of thrombosis. If thrombosis occurs in the abdominal vena cava and hepatic portal vein, there will be abdominal pain and backache symptoms.

4. Shortness of breath. It may be caused by pulmonary artery thrombosis.

5. Swelling of the legs. Caused by venous thrombosis in the lower extremities.

6. Small red spots, new bruises on the skin, or bruising easily. This is caused by a severe decrease in platelets.

Judging from the current clinical cases, thrombosis usually occurs within one to two weeks after vaccination. Anne Schuchat, the chief deputy director of the CDC in the United States, said that if the Johnson & Johnson vaccine has no symptoms for a month, there is basically no need to worry about blood clots.

However, Dong Yuhong added that because the thrombotic side effects are new events, the medical community is still under continuous research. Therefore, after administering the vaccine, if there is a reaction that is inconsistent with the side effects notified by the doctor, it is recommended to ask the family doctor for examination in time.

FBI raided Giuliani's New York apartment, confiscated electronic equipment

Reporters : Ke Tingting and Oliver, New York / https://www.ntdtv.com/gb/2021/04/28/a103106511.html / Direct translation

On Wednesday morning, FBI agents searched the apartment and office of Trump’s personal lawyer and former New York Mayor Giuliani in Manhattan, New York, and took away his electronic product.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) entered and searched the former New York Mayor Giuliani's apartment on Madison Avenue and the office on Park Avenue at 6 am on Wednesday morning with a court search warrant. It is understood that the investigators confiscated Giuliani's electronic products, including mobile phones.

Starting in 2019, the Manhattan District Attorney's Office has investigated Giuliani's business dealings with Ukraine. The FBI currently refuses to respond.

On Wednesday afternoon, Giuliani's son Andrew Giuliani walked out of the apartment to respond, condemning the lack of judicial independence.

Giuliani’s son Andrew Giuliani said, "Today they came to the door and did not take away the only evidence that could be convicted. (This evidence) is not with my father but with the son of the current president (Biden). Our justice department should be independent of politics. Let’s stop at it! Ladies and gentlemen, we can’t bear it anymore. Again, if this happens to the president’s lawyer, it may happen to each of us."

Several media have reported that Giuliani owns a hard drive with information about Hunter Biden. He once broke the news that Hunter Biden had interests in Ukrainian energy companies and even Chinese energy companies.

Biden was asked to be tough on the CCP in his first joint congressional speech

As of this Thursday (April 29), Biden has been in power for 100 days. In American political culture, 100 days of a new president in office is a major event. Therefore, on the eve of this important day, that is, on the evening of the 28th, Biden will deliver a joint speech to Congress to preach the challenges and achievements of the new government, and look forward to future policy plans, hoping to win nationals and Congress representatives. Our support.

As in previous years, the Congress speech was designated as a "national special security event." The Secret Service was responsible for coordinating the security work, and the Capitol was also on high alert in response to possible anti-Biden protests.

So, what are the focal points of this speech?

The core part of domestic policy, Biden will announce the "American Families Plan" (American Families Plan), is expected to spend 1.8 trillion US dollars. White House spokesperson Jen Psaki called this a "historical investment in education and children" with the goal of "assisting American families... to save and rebuild our economy."

But the British Financial Times pointed out that the plan was "ambitious, wide-ranging, and costly", and the most controversial thing is to increase taxes on the wealthy to cover the costs. Republicans in Congress are expected to oppose; Biden will rely on the Democrats' weak seats in the Senate and House of Representatives to pass legislation.

In addition, in the internal affairs section, Biden will also talk about the current state of the government's response to the epidemic, as well as very sensitive police reforms, pro-immigrant policy reforms, and gun control issues.

In terms of foreign policy, Reuters quoted a senior congressional aide as saying that Biden will “make a tough statement against China (the CCP)” because both parties in Congress frequently ask him to take a tough attitude.

A report by the Voice of America on the 28th also confirmed this. The chairman of the U.S. Senate Foreign Affairs Committee and Democrat Bob Menendez told the media that he expects Biden to emphasize in his speech how the United States will confront and compete with China (the CCP). He said, "I hope he can link the importance of this to us with the importance of this to the international community."

Republican U.S. Senator Dan Sullivan is worried that the new government will not be able to propose substantive policies on China. He said, "I worry that President Biden's speech is just a speech, just talk, but what we need is action. He said so many things, we need action."

Hundred days verification: Does "competition and cooperation" between the US and China not work?

So, within 100 days of taking office, what countermeasures has Biden taken against the CCP, and has he achieved his goals?

On Tuesday (27 April), senior White House officials held a press conference and stated that in the face of the increasingly arbitrary CCP, the Biden administration has worked hard to cooperate with allies and partners to jointly respond to threats and challenges, and has achieved initial results.

An unnamed senior official cited as an example that last month, the United States, Japan, India, and Australia held the first four-party talks; the United States also coordinated actions with the European Union, the United Kingdom, and Canada to announce sanctions against Chinese officials on the human rights issue in Xinjiang. In addition, the United States and many allies coordinated actions to publicly criticize Beijing on issues such as Hong Kong, the South China Sea, and trade subsidies.

Of course, everyone has not forgotten that the Biden administration divides US-China relations into three areas: confrontation, competition, and cooperation. But after 100 days on stage, more people began to disapprove of this strategy and suggested that it be re-evaluated.

According to a report by Radio Free Asia, David Dollar, a senior researcher at the Brookings Institution, a Washington think-tank, concluded that, "In the hundred days of Biden's administration, the focus of dealings with China (the CCP) has always been on confrontation." The main areas of "confrontation" are the attitudes of the two sides during exchanges, the Taiwan Strait, and the military layout; the main areas of "competition" are technology and trade; the only evidence of "cooperation" is Xi Jinping's participation in the climate summit hosted by Biden.

Mareike Ohlberg, a researcher at the German think tank Marshall Foundation, pointed out that the US-China meeting in Alaska was a “blunder” by the Biden administration. At that time, Yang Jiechi staged the Wolf Show, which was a manifestation of the attitude of the CCP. The CCP believes that the global balance of power has shifted to a state that is beneficial to it, and this can happen.

Ma Xiaoyue said that after this incident, both the United States and the European Union should reassess: How feasible is it to "compete and cooperate"? She said, “Is it possible for the United States to discuss climate cooperation with China (the CCP) on Monday; is it possible for the United States to discuss technology competition with China (the CCP) on Tuesday?”

At the same time, Bates Gill, a professor at Macquarie University in Australia who studies Chinese politics, said, “China (the CCP) has always claimed to want to 'cooperate', but I have not seen them give too much room for maneuver or compromise."

CCP's mouthpiece uses India to severely criticize the United States, Netizens: Shameful

Indeed, although the CCP is shouting for cooperation, its actions have sent out opposite signals everywhere. Now, they turned India into a new battlefield for US-China diplomacy.

The second wave of the CCP virus epidemic in India is intensifying. As of Wednesday (28 April), the number of deaths from infection in India has exceeded the 200,000 mark. Many media reported that the medical system in the country’s capital, New Delhi, had completely collapsed. Patients who could not enter the hospital in line grab oxygen cylinders from the hospital warehouse and go home. At the same time, the crematorium was overloaded, and there were also cases of open burning of corpses.

Under such circumstances, the international community has extended a helping hand. On 27 April, medical supplies from the United Kingdom first arrived in India; at the same time, the United States decided to provide oxygen cylinders, oxygen concentrators, ventilators, personal protective equipment, vaccines, and other related materials; Germany, Canada, and the World Health Organization also pledged to step up Aid India.

What about the CCP? Its state-run Sichuan Airlines recently announced that it will suspend flights to India for 15 days.

Not only that, but the CCP also stirred up misconceptions of public opinion.

On 25 and 26 April, the English version of the mouthpiece Global Times published articles accusing the United States of "crocodile tears" (false sympathy), "selfishness", and standing idly by, along with cartoons satirizing the United States' ban on exporting vaccine manufacturing materials .

Radio Free Asia wrote that if the sufferings and crises of other countries are used to meet their propaganda needs, it is of course impossible for the Chinese Communist Party to admit that they are "cannibalism", but it is certain that Xi Jinping asked the state media to "tell the Chinese story. They have failed.

At the same time, the "Global Times" article angered many Indian netizens. They commented on Twitter that this practice was “shameful” and “dirty”; some others said, “It is the CCP (the Chinese Communist Party) that suspended flights from China to India.” “Every day they use lies to make public announcements... , These are the tears of the crocodile."

Who gives the green light for Ant Group to go public? Beijing investigation, Ma Yun rumoured to be charged

Ever since he criticized the Chinese Communist Party's financial supervision system in October last year, life for the wealthy mainland businessman Jack Ma has been difficult. Earlier this month, Alibaba had just swallowed a huge fine of 18.228 billion yuan, and now there is news that Beijing is investigating how Ant Group’s previous listing was quickly approved.

On Tuesday (27 April), The Wall Street Journal quoted a source as reporting that the investigation began at the beginning of this year and mainly aimed at: which regulators’ officials gave the green light to Ant Group’s initial public offering (IPO), and which local officials were ants. Lobbying for stock raising, and which large state-owned companies are waiting to profit from Ant’s listing.

It can be heard that the relationship between Jack Ma and relevant leaders is an important part of the review.

According to sources, there is still uncertainty about the future of Ant Group and Jack Ma, and Jack Ma was restricted from leaving the country before the end of the investigation.

At the same time, the listing standards and procedures of the China Securities Regulatory Commission and Shanghai Securities Regulatory Agency are under review. And Li Qiang, the current secretary of the Shanghai Municipal Party Committee, was also involved.

News (22)

What role did Li Qiang play in it?

Friends who pay attention to this matter know that the Shanghai Stock Exchange Science and Technology Innovation Board (STAR Market) is the listing point originally planned by Ant Group. This sci-tech innovation board was created at the height of the Sino-US trade war. Shanghai local officials and securities regulators all know its importance to the top leaders of the Chinese Communist Party.

Xi Jinping himself launched it at the end of 2018, and officials familiar with the process said that before the announcement, Xi Jinping had discussed the Sci-tech Innovation Board plan with a few people, and Li Qiang was one of them.

Li Qiang is regarded as a political star and is trusted by Xi Jinping. At the same time, as the former governor of Zhejiang Province where Jack Ma’s business empire is located, Li Qiang has always supported Jack Ma and Alibaba.

In 2018, the Shanghai Municipal Government signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Ant Group and Alibaba. When meeting with Ma Yun, Li Qiang and the Mayor of Shanghai promised to fully support Ma Yun's business in Shanghai.

Therefore, Li Qiang has become the number one key figure in Ant's successful approval of the listing process on the Shanghai Science and Technology Innovation Board.

A source familiar with the investigation said that it is unclear whether individuals who participated in the approval or otherwise promoted Ant’s listing will be held accountable.

However, everyone involved must have a heart.

For promotion? Shenzhen Secretary launches a nauseating offensive against Xi

In addition to the secretary of the Shanghai Municipal Party Committee, recently, the exaggerated remarks made by the secretary of the Shenzhen Municipal Party Committee Wang Weizhong have also attracted attention from outsiders.

In the morning of 27 April, at the Seventh Party Congress of the Shenzhen Municipality of the Communist Party of China, Wang Weizhong made a report on behalf of the Shenzhen Municipal Party Committee and used a paragraph in the report to praise Xi Jinping.

Wang Weizhong touted that since the Eighteenth National Congress of the Communist Party of China, Xi Jinping has visited Shenzhen three times and attended the 40th anniversary of the establishment of the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone, to "lead the way and direct the pulse of Shenzhen."

He also said, "We must deeply comprehend Xi Jinping's deep love for Shenzhen...,...the great support for Shenzhen like a mountain...and Xi Jinping's care and love like a mountain like a sea..." and so on.

Although the CCP’s officialdom is now prevalent in "showing loyalty," it still makes the outside world dumbfounded to such an extent. What is the purpose of Wang Weizhong doing this?

On 24 April, Shenzhen's official personnel were reshuffled, and the positions of 18 officials above the department level were changed on the same day. The chief officials of Shenzhen's "one government, one committee and two houses", including the mayor, deputy mayor, director of the municipal supervision committee, president of the municipal intermediate court, and the president of the municipal procuratorate were replaced.

There are rumours that this is related to the case of Shenzhen's illegal real estate speculation, and the local and central policies have sang the opposite. Could it be that Wang Weizhong is also involved in this matter, and wants to protect himself by showing his loyalty?

Hong Kong’s "Ming Pao" commented on 28 April that Shenzhen’s high property prices are freezing three feet and not a day’s cold, and it is an over-interpretation to link the change of leadership to this matter. Shenzhen’s shift is related to the CCP’s five-year political change. Next year, the CCP will hold its 20th National Congress. Whether Xi Jinping retires or stays, it will be the year of the change. Beginning this year, local party committees and governments at all levels will have to change their blood.

Current political commentator Li Linyi also believes that after the Shenzhen officialdom earthquake, Wang Weizhong's nasty remarks were mainly due to the fact that the CCP is facing a change of term and the party congress next year. He wanted to take the opportunity to create an opportunity for promotion, and this happened. Last time, Li Hongzhong took the lead before the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, and later became the secretary of Tianjin.

Why we need to distinguish between "CCP virus" and "Chinese virus"

Writer : Wang He / Editor : Liu Mingxiang / Source : The Epoch Times / https://www.ntdtv.com/gb/2021/04/28/a103106554.html / Translation, editing : Gan Yung Chyan, KUCINTA SETIA

The difference between "China" and "CCP" is a fact that cannot be understood clearly, but it is a common sense. China has been up and down for five thousand years, and many dynasties have changed. No matter which dynasty or regime loses its legitimacy, it will collapse. This is an iron law of history that no one can change, and it is also true for the CCP.

However, the CCP wants to protect its own situation and sit down for thousands of years, even if the flood is torrential. One of its routines is to openly declare that "the CCP" is "China." Whoever talks about the CCP's mistakes is "anti-China." The CCP’s challenge to the fact and common sense that "China is not equal to the CCP" is actually insulting everyone's IQ and provoking the bottom line of every country.

Take, for example, the biggest global crisis since World War II, the Great Plague.

The great plague that began to erupt in Wuhan at the end of 2019 has swept the world and is still violent today. Where does this great plague come from, and why can it ravage the world? This is related to the life safety of everyone today. Every person and every country has the right to raise questions and require independent, open, and impartial scientific investigations.

Especially because the CCP deliberately concealed the epidemic situation, blocked the truth (the "Li Wenliang incident" is an iron proof), and the World Health Organization (WHO) endorsed the CCP (Wuhan was suddenly locked down on 23 January  2020, and the WHO delayed the announcement on that day. The epidemic is an "international public health emergency", and the "global pandemic" was not announced until 11 March.

The anger of the people of all countries is self-evident. This is why on 19 May 2020, at the World Health Assembly (WHA), which was held online for the first time since its establishment, nearly two hundred World Health Organization member states were able to pass a resolution through consultation to address the international impact of this epidemic. The unprecedented response conducts a "fair, independent and comprehensive assessment", including "WHO actions and the timetable for the novel coronavirus epidemic."

At this conference, the CCP pledged to provide US$2 billion in aid for the pandemic, on the one hand to placate countries, and on the other hand to strive for global leadership in the fight against the pandemic. Outside the venue, the Chinese Communist Party imposed economic sanctions on Australia, which was the first to propose and insisted on independent investigations (China has been Australia's largest trading partner for the past ten years and now accounts for about one-third of its total exports).

At the same time, the CCP is still doing one of the most stupid things, which is to keep shaking the pot, from Italy, France, the United States, India to salmon, cold chain food, and so on. In particular, on 12 March 2020, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Communist Party of China, Zhao Lijian, tweeted that “it may be the US military that brought the epidemic to Wuhan” and that “the United States owes us an explanation”.

Faced with this insult, President Trump  fought back strongly. In the evening of 16 March, when tweeting about Wuhan pneumonia, Trump used the term "Chinese Virus" for the first time. On 17 March, Trump made it clear at the White House, "China has introduced false news that our military has passed this (virus) to them. This is false. I decided that there is no need to argue, I just have to follow its source. Call it. The virus came from China." "Our army did not pass it on to anyone." On 19 March, Trump once again referred to SARS-CoV-2 as the "Chinese virus." His speech was taken by reporters. The word "SARS-CoV-2" on the manuscript was crossed out and "Chinese virus" was written. This makes Wuhan pneumonia widely known as the "Chinese virus" in the world.

There is a reason for President Trump's strong counterattack. Because the CCP claimed to have notified the US of the epidemic information and prevention and control measures since 3 January 2020, Xi Jinping also told Trump during the call that the epidemic in China was under control. Although, the CCP has repeatedly refused American experts to come to China to assist in the fight against the epidemic; although, before the closure of Wuhan, 5 million people from Wuhan have flowed across the country during the Spring Festival, and 60,000 of them have come to countries around the world (this is the most direct cause of the global epidemic.  However, Trump still believes in Xi Jinping and has repeatedly praised China for its control of the epidemic.

Facts have proved that the United States has been fooled again. Although the Trump administration announced on 31 January 2020 that the United States has entered a state of public health emergency, except for the immediate family members of U.S. citizens and permanent residents, foreign citizens who have been to China in the past 14 days will be denied entry to the U.S. (the absurd thing is , Both the CCP and the WHO criticized this). However, the epidemic has spread beyond control in the United States. Trump was forced to declare a "national emergency" on 13 March.

This is an extremely painful lesson for the Trump administration. It has fully realized that the CCP’s deception has no bottom line. According to a study by the University of Southampton in the United Kingdom, if epidemic prevention measures are taken one week, two weeks, and three weeks earlier in China, the number of confirmed cases worldwide will be reduced by 66%, 86%, and 95%, respectively. Therefore, the CCP is the culprit why the plague ravages China, the United States and the world.

Therefore, in the last year of his term, President Trump called Wuhan pneumonia a "Chinese virus" many times (he also mentioned in his farewell speech that "we and the whole world were attacked by the Chinese virus", "Chinese virus" affected the original active economy of the United States, "forcing us to develop in a different direction").

Of course, he has repeatedly stated that Asian Americans should not be blamed for the epidemic. For example, on 25 March 2020, he said, "They are excellent people, and the spread of the virus is not their fault."

President Trump has some truth in calling the "Chinese virus". However, after all, China is also a victim of this plague. After all, the CCP who steals China is the culprit of this disaster. For the sake of accuracy, to clarify the essence, and to avoid ambiguity, The Epoch Times and other media put forward and advocated it, called "the CCP virus" (rather than "Chinese virus") is more accurate.

Indeed, it is called the "Chinese Communist Party virus" because the virus came from China under the rule of the Chinese Communist Party, and even more so because the CCP covered up the epidemic, which caused the virus to spread to the world and caused a global pandemic.

The naming of The Epoch Times "CCP virus" has received wide support and strong responses. For example, on 19 March 2020, the columnist Josh Rogin of the US "Washington Post" published an article saying that in response to the current plague, the Chinese people should not be blamed, but the CCP should be blamed. The Chinese people are the heroes in this story. Chinese doctors, researchers and journalists risked their lives and even faced death to fight the virus and warn the world but the Chinese are also victims of the CCP’s rigorous measures, which have caused tremendous additional suffering.

He said, “We must all condemn the CCP’s behavior specifically. It was the CCP who hid the virus for several weeks after the outbreak, suppressing doctors (speech), imprisoning journalists, and obstructing science (research)-the most compelling. Yes, it closed the first Shanghai laboratory that publicly released the genome sequence of the coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2)." He also reminded the West that it must not help or encourage the CCP to incite internal divisions in the United States and spread false information.

For another example, on 26 March 2020, the director of "Bitter Winter" magazine and Italian journalist Marco Respinti in the Italian Liberal Party newspaper "Rete Liberale" published an article saying, "Don't call China virus (Chinese virus) , To be called the CCP virus". He urged people to distinguish between the Chinese and the CCP, and the object of condemnation is the CCP.

For another example, on 18 March 2020, the English Epoch Times published an editorial article entitled "A correct name for the pandemic virus sweeping the world", suggesting that the public use a more accurate name "CCP Virus" , To replace the new type of coronavirus or Wuhan pneumonia, has been widely praised by all walks of life. From Wednesday (18th) to Friday (20th) noon, the article was reposted 2,700 times by readers and received more than 300 positive comments.

On the same day, the English-language New Tang Dynasty TV program "NTD China in focus" also talked about the new name  CCP virus. By Friday (20th) noon, the video was clicked by 100,000 people on YouTube and gained 2,400 points. Like, with nearly a thousand comments, many viewers agreed with the CCP virus, and some said that they will call SARS-CoV-2 the CCP virus in the future.

In another example, #CCPVirus has become a popular hashtag on social media Twitter; on March 20, 2020, the White House petition website added a petition, “Let’s start calling the novel coronavirus CCP virus”, etc. and many more.

From the extensive support and strong response to the naming of the "CCP virus", we have seen a strong public opinion and a solid fact: the CCP is not the same as China.

The CCP kidnapped China but the CCP’s crimes can only be borne by itself, and it must not be thrown away to China. Of course, the CCP’s rule of China is indeed China’s greatest shame. In fact, the Chinese are courageously, firmly, and persistently washing away this shame. The most prominent example is that since the publication of the Epoch Times editorial series "Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party" at the end of 2004, the Chinese people withdrew from the CCP and its affiliated organizations in a grand manner The "Three Retreats" of the Communist Youth League and the Young Pioneers have swept across China. So far, more than 370 million people have publicly declared the "Three Retreats."

This is a nation with a long history that is awakening. This is a nation that has created a splendid civilization and is being reborn. This is a weather-beaten nation that is fighting. This is a nation that has tasted the humiliation and is nirvana.

The Epoch Times has resisted public opinion and firmly named this great plague as the "Chinese Communist Party virus." It is really defending China's dignity and washing away China's shame. I hope that all Chinese people will not be disturbed by noise. Let's drum up for this.

Myanmar junta sets free 7 anti-regime protesters in Chin State

The Myanmar military regime on Tuesday night released seven anti-regime protesters who were arrested in Chin State’s Mindat on Saturday.

Their arrests provoked daily clashes between civilian resistance fighters and junta forces in the town, in which at least 20 junta troops had been killed as of Tuesday.

“The detainees were released at around 10 p.m. yesterday. There was more shooting last night on the outskirts of the town. No clashes took place this morning,” a member of Mindat’s civilian defense force said on Wednesday.

Junta troops deployed at a toll gate at the entrance to the town have withdrawn, according to residents.

“Though they have released the detainees, we can’t say things are gonna be fine. The shooting has only ceased for a few hours. We can’t say they won’t attack again,” a resident said.

EU: CCP and Russia media spread false news, weakening western vaccine confidence

On Wednesday (April 28), a report from the European Union stated that the Chinese Communist Party and Russian media are systematically working on their latest attempt to split the false propaganda activities in the West spread the seeds of distrust of the CCP virus vaccine in the West.

According to a report by Reuters, the EU research report stated that from December last year to April this year, the official media of China and Russia published fake news on the Internet in multiple languages, sensationally promoting vaccine safety issues, and unfoundedly The vaccine injections and deaths were linked, and the superiority of Russian and Chinese vaccines was promoted.

Both the Kremlin and Beijing have denied all accusations of dissemination of false information by the European Union. The EU regularly publishes reports and seeks to cooperate with Google, Facebook, Twitter and Microsoft to limit the spread of fake news.

The EU research report released by the Anti-Disinformation Department of the European Union’s External Action Agency (EEAS) stated that Russia’s vaccine diplomacy with the CCP “follows the logic of a zero-sum game, combining dissemination of false information and manipulation of public opinion, with a view to weakening Western manufacturing. Confidence in the vaccine."

The report said: “Russia and the CCP are using state-controlled media, agency media networks and social media, including official diplomatic social media accounts, to achieve these goals.” The report cited 100 examples from Russia this year.

The EU and NATO often accuse Russia of taking covert actions, including spreading rumors, in an attempt to destabilize the West by creating social divisions.

The report stated that AstraZeneca's vaccine supply problems, as well as the rare side effects of AstraZeneca and Johnson & Johnson's vaccines, were all exploited to make fuss.

"The official media channels of the Chinese Communist Party and the pro-Kremlin media have amplified the so-called side effects of Western vaccines, made distorted and sensational reports in the international media, and compared deaths in Norway, Spain and other places with Pfizer/Biotech. (Pfizer/BioNTech) vaccines are linked together."

Vaccine chaos

Russia denies any such tactics. Russian President Vladimir Putin accused foreign enemies of targeting Russia by spreading fake news about the CCP virus.

According to a Reuters investigation, the CCP tried to prevent the publication of an EU report last year. The report stated that the CCP government is spreading false information about the outbreak of the CCP virus.

Although the EU has not vaccinated its 450 million citizens as quickly as the United Kingdom, which is no longer a member of the EU, vaccination is accelerating. The US drugmaker Pfizer and its German partner BioNTech have the highest vaccination rates.

The EU said that Russian media reported that “Brexit has saved the EU from the ‘vaccine chaos’ that has swept the EU.” “This statement shows that someone is trying to spread differences within the EU.”

According to a report published online by the European Union (https://euvsdisinfo.eu/), Russia’s official Sputnik V Twitter account is trying to undermine the public’s trust in the European Medicines Agency.

The Sputnik V Twitter account responded that the rumor campaign was directed at Russia and its vaccine, not the other way around. Sputnik V is a CCP virus vaccine launched by Russia.

The Sputnik V Twitter account said, "In order to protect lives around the world and avoid the vaccine monopoly that some vaccine manufacturers may strive to obtain, we will continue to fight the disinformation campaign against the Sputnik V vaccine."

The Twitter account is managed by the Russian Sovereign Wealth Fund (Russian Direct Investment Fund), which is responsible for promoting the Sputnik V vaccine.

The report also found that at the same time, the CCP promoted its vaccine as a "global public welfare product" and "described it as a vaccine more suitable for the development of the CCP and the Western Balkans." The countries of the Western Balkans are considered future EU member states.

Rare! The nine commanders of the U.S. military urgently call for declassified intelligence against CCP and Russia

Reporter : Li Yun / Editor : Zhu Xinrui / https://www.ntdtv.com/gb/2021/04/29/a103106638.html / Direct translation

A senior US intelligence official said that the nine four-star commanders of the US military rarely issued urgent appeals for assistance in the information war against Russia and the CCP. At present, the high-level intelligence community is seeking how to decipher and publish more information about the malicious actions of China and Russia.

The US political news website Politico exclusively reported that nine commanders responsible for overseeing the U.S. military and special operations forces in Asia, Europe, Africa, and Latin America signed a memorandum last year and sent it to the then Acting Director of National Intelligence (DNI) Joseph. Maguire (Joseph Maguire) urged intelligence agencies to provide more publicly available evidence as a way to counter the "harmful actions" of China and Russia.

This memorandum was prepared by the outgoing commander of the US Indo-Pacific Command, General Philip Davidson. The signatories include the then Commander of the US Space Command, General Jay Raymond, as well as Europe, Africa and Latin America. Commander of the regional and special operations command.

Raymond is currently a member of the Joint Council of Commanders and Chiefs of Staff of the US Space Forces.

Several government officials who were aware of the memorandum stated that of the total 11 four-star generals of the US military, 9 of them signed it, and 8 of them were on active duty, almost unheard of before, highlighting the unusual vigilance of the top US military. degree. Only the commander of the US Central Command and the Cyber Warfare Command did not participate in the signing.

These commanders said that only by "showing the truth" in the public domain to resist America's 21st century challengers can Washington strengthen the support of American allies. Many efforts in this ideological battle are constrained by too strict secrecy practices.

"We ask for this help to better enable the United States and its allies and partners to win without fighting." They said in the memo: "Unfortunately, we continue to miss clarifying the truth, refuting the distorted facts, Opportunities to expose false statements..."

The commanders accused, China and Russia are using all tools of comprehensive national power to engage in political warfare, manipulate the information environment, violate national sovereignty, win over international organizations, weaken the integrity of the multilateral society, and split US allies and partnerships. They try to reshape the world in their own image, spread authoritarianism, and advance their ambitions. Their actions are provocative, dangerous and destabilizing.

It is reported that the memorandum signed by nine four-star generals is nicknamed "36-star memorandum." This memo caused waves in the Pentagon, the intelligence community, and Capitol Hill last year, and the generals begged the intelligence community to make major changes.

Kari Bingen, the then Undersecretary of Intelligence and Security Affairs of the Ministry of Defense, who received the memorandum at the time, said in an interview with Politico: China and Russia have weaponized information. This is a major concern being raised by military commanders and intelligence professionals.

Bingen pointed out that the combatant command’s forces interact with U.S. allies and partners every day. “Every day they see what our opponents are doing. They need timely and relevant information to expose bad activities and have a good understanding of what they see. To fight against their actions."

The US State Department stated that China and Russia are using the CCP virus pandemic to promote anti-US conspiracy theories, including that the virus is a biological weapon made by the United States and that the US military is responsible for the rapid spread of the virus.

A former senior Pentagon intelligence official told Politico that the memo suggested that some combat commanders were frustrated that they could not share satellite photos of the enemy's actions with allies and partners.

Matt Lahr, deputy assistant for strategic communications at the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, said that last summer, a team of Pentagon and intelligence officials convened a series of working group meetings on this military memorandum and proposed Suggest.

Lahr said that in December 2020, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence requested intelligence agencies to review its existing procedures, make improvements, and support the combat headquarters with the speed and scale required by the military. In January of this year, the heads of intelligence agencies "preliminarily responded," stating that they are reviewing the progress of these agencies and stressing that combating malicious influence remains the top priority.

This memo is not classified as confidential, but it is labeled "For official use only."

CNN reported that the mayor of North Delhi said on Wednesday that in the past week, more than 600 corpses had been cremated every day at the crematorium in Delhi.

The Trump administration successively identified more than a dozen Chinese Communist Party official media as "foreign missions." In response, US Secretary of State Blincoln stated on April 28 that it would list the Chinese Communist Party's official media. For foreign missions, it is to let the public know the truth. Beijing uses the Chinese Communist Party's official media to conduct propaganda and spread rumors overseas, with the purpose of interfering with or undermining democracy.

"Voice of America" reported that on the eve of World Press Freedom Day, Blinken said in an online meeting with foreign media on 28 April that the Chinese Communist government controls the operation and editorial power of these media, and these media are only dedicated to Beijing. Global propaganda, sometimes dedicated to spreading rumors, is aimed at interfering or undermining democracy while restricting freedom of press and speech in China.

Blinken said that the U.S. classifies the CCP’s official media as a “foreign mission” to ensure that the public knows who is paying the media’s salaries. The editorial comments of these media convey the opinions of the CCP government and the CCP. The U.S. does this to ensure transparency. Instead of interfering in these media reports and choosing topics.

Blinken emphasized that everyone knows that China is one of the countries with the least free space for information in the world. The United States will work together to establish a democratic vision for the global information and information space, strive to strengthen its ability to resist threats, and expose malicious activities from anywhere. .

Blinken also said, "Our purpose is to maintain the rules-based international order that we have put in a lot of effort for decades."

Since last year, Washington has strengthened its censorship of the CCP’s official media, and has identified more than a dozen CCP national and local media operating departments in the United States as foreign missions, including Xinhua News Agency, China Global Television Network, China News Service, newspapers like Jiefang Daily and Economics Daily, etc.

According to the US "Foreign Missions Act", foreign missions refer to "entities that are actually owned or effectively controlled by foreign governments." The US move requires that the staff of these media organizations, like embassy and consulate staff, must register with the US government.

According to reports, former U.S. Secretary of State Pompeo also said when announcing relevant measures, "We just want to ensure that Americans, as information consumers, can distinguish between news written by the free media and propaganda made by the CCP itself. . They are not the same thing."

After the U.S. announced that the CCP’s official media was listed as a diplomatic mission, the CCP’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs retaliated by revoking the press cards of American journalists from the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, and the Washington Post and expelling them from China.

After the CCP expelled American journalists, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security tightened the visa regulations for Chinese journalists, limiting their visas to 90 days, with the option of extending them. Journalists holding Hong Kong or Macau passports are not restricted.

Concerned about safety, Brazil rejects Russian "Sputnik V" vaccine

Due to safety concerns, Brazil’s National Health Supervision Agency (Anvisa) recently rejected several states’ proposal to import nearly 30 million doses of the Russian Sputnik V vaccine. The request triggered strong criticism from the Russian government.

On Monday (26 April), the five members of the collegiate board of the Brazilian National Health Inspection Agency unanimously decided that due to the lack of consistent and trustworthy data, they could not approve the request of 10 states to import the "Sputnik V" vaccine. The other 4 states and two cities are also seeking authorization to import the vaccine.

Antônio Barra Torres, Director of the National Health Supervision Agency, said in a statement, “In the absence of necessary and proper evidence, we will never allow millions of Brazilians to contact without proper evidence to prove its quality and safety and effective products. We are in a severe situation, or at least need a good cost-benefit relationship."

The Health Supervision Bureau stated that all clinical studies for the development of the "Sputnik V" vaccine are flawed, and there is either no data or insufficient data. The agency also said in a statement that analysis shows that the adenovirus in the "Sputnik V" vaccine has the ability to replicate, which may cause illness or death, especially for those with weakened immunity or respiratory diseases.

Brazil's move is a big blow to Russia's plan to promote the global adoption of its vaccine. The export of the "Sputnik V" vaccine has helped Russia regain its diplomatic status in countries with which it has poor relations.

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov told reporters in the daily briefing, "We need more information about what this lack of (data) means, because there is already enough data."

"Contacts (with Brazil) will continue. If some data is lacking, it will be provided." Peskov added.

The Russian Direct Investment Fund, which is responsible for managing the sales of the "Sputnik V" vaccine on a global scale, severely refutes Brazil's claims, saying that the health regulators of dozens of countries have approved the "Sputnik V". The Brazilian National Health The Supervision Bureau’s decision was “of a political nature and has nothing to do with the regulatory agencies’ access to information or science”.

Cristiane Rose Jourdan Gomes, one of the five members of the collegiate council of Brazil's National Health Inspection Agency, admitted that their decision is sensitive because the provision of vaccines has become a priority against covid but she expressed the hope that "Sputnik V" can provide information as required.

Denise Garrett, deputy director of the Sabin Vaccine Institute, which advocates for the expansion of global vaccine supply, is Brazilian. She supported the Brazilian National Health Inspection Agency on Twitter.

Garrett said, "As far as current information is concerned, there is no way to approve 'Sputnik V'."

According to the manufacturer, the "Sputnik V" vaccine is currently distributed to 60 countries around the world, including EU member states, Hungary and Slovakia.

Earlier this month, the Slovak health inspection agency also expressed concern about insufficient vaccine data, saying that the vaccine delivered to the country is different from other places. Russia called the findings of the Slovakian regulator "fake news" and asked the country to return vaccines it had received.
