This wave of epidemic in China is unusual and it may be difficult to cope with large-scale infections

Recently, respiratory cases of multiple pathogens have increased rapidly in China, including influenza, covid, mycoplasma pneumonia, rhinovirus, adenovirus, human interstitial pneumonia virus and respiratory fusion virus. Although China has claimed that No "abnormal or new pathogen" has been found, but foreign media quoted many experts as saying that there seems to be something unusual about this wave of epidemic in China.

According to the "Voice of America" report, the scientific journal "Nature" published an article on the 27th of last month stating that Mycoplasma pneumoniae is usually easy to cure, but this time it has caused a severe blow to Chinese children. Vanderbilt, Tennessee, USA William Schaffner, professor of infectious diseases at the University School of Medicine, also believes that last winter, the United States and other Western countries also experienced early outbreaks of influenza and respiratory syncytial virus, accompanied by an increase in the new coronavirus, but no increase in mycoplasma was detected. , because mycoplasma also has a seasonal distribution and may occur throughout the year. There are more infections in winter and indeed have a more significant impact on young children. However, a large-scale outbreak of mycoplasma pneumonia is very unusual.

Schaffner also said that it is unusual for Chinese children to develop white lungs and pulmonary necrosis. It sounds like a very serious disease, which means that the lung tissue is actually damaged, more seriously than usual. He hopes to get more data and observations.

Jennifer Bouey, director of China policy research at the Rand Corporation, said that this should be a seasonal phenomenon. This year, people’s immunity is low, the widespread use of CT in China, the shortage of pediatric hospitals in Beijing, and the potential overlap with other seasonal viruses. Infections can lead to this spike. But another big challenge is that macrolides are the frontline antibiotics used to treat mycoplasma pneumonia, but drug resistance is common in China.

In addition, even if the peak of mycoplasma pneumonia has passed, greater threats may brew in the future. The rapid increase of influenza (mainly H3N2 subtype) and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) is more dangerous, which may lead to higher hospitalization rates and Mortality rate, but if China’s medical system is not prepared for the coming peak of influenza, covid and respiratory syncytial virus, the medical system of pediatric specialty hospitals will be overwhelmed, and primary care will be unable to cope with a larger wave of infections.

Is Chinese pneumonia serious? Parents of Beijing Children's Hospital who "waited for 13 hours for treatment" revealed the tragic situation

Respiratory diseases such as unknown pneumonia broke out in China. This wave of epidemic has affected children the most. Some hospitals in first-tier cities have even reported an explosion of patients. On 3 December 2023, a Chinese blogger revealed the tragic situation facing Beijing No. 1 Children’s Hospital.

On China's Sohu.com, a blogger eloquently expressed the panic of parents with the title "Pneumonia has overwhelmed children's hospitals and parents are about to collapse." In late November, a mother surnamed Qi discovered that her son had a fever of 40 degrees Celsius. She took anti-fever medicine but the fever did not subside at all by midnight the next day. So she had to take him to the emergency room.

It was obviously midnight, but there was a serious traffic jam when we arrived at the entrance of the Children's Hospital, and it was even worse when they entered the hospital. The nurse informed the blogger that there were 390 children waiting in front of me, and the wait would take at least 8 hours. So Qi had to go back to the car to rest, and asked her husband to wait in line all night, from midnight to 6 am before she finally got the chance to see a doctor. Despite the successful infusion and reduction of fever, the child's treatment did not end there. The doctor said that the emergency department can only prescribe medicine for three days. If the patient does not get better, he will have to go to the respiratory department and may be hospitalized but Qi worriedly said that compared with the emergency department, the respiratory department seemed to be more difficult to treat, and they did not know how long they would have to wait.

390 people may not be too many. The article exposed another equal sign screen in the hospital, which directly stated that there were more than 700 people in front of them, and the waiting time was estimated to be 13 hours.

The blogger also said that it is okay to have one child, but a "two-child family" is even more tragic. Living together, it is unlikely that one of them will be spared. Once both have a fever, and the combined temperature exceeds 80 degrees, it is simply scary. There are endless queues at the hospital. Ordinary parents have to go to work. So where do they have time to take care of them and queue up? The difficulties faced may not be small.

CCP media explosive article: Demand Shi Zhengli to tell the truth

Editor : Zhongkang / Source : Xin Tou Liang /  https://www.aboluowang.com/2023/1203/1985918.html

Nearly four years after the covid virus (covi, CCP virus, novel coronavirus) ravaged the world, on 1 December 2023, an explosive article appeared again on the Chinese Communist Party's media platform "Science and Technology Academic School", asking Chinese Communist Party virologist Shi Zhengli to speak the truth and explain.

Shi Zhengli insisted that she had never known about the novel coronavirus before 2019, and even swore about it. Some netizens found a patent application document she filed in 2012, which was titled "Research on Bat Coronavirus and Cross-Species Infection."

Netizens criticized that Shi Zhengli's denial was completely contrary to the rigorous attitude that scientists should have. Now the CCP media has begun to criticize Shi Zhengli.

In addition, the Chinese Communist Party was discussing a "novel coronavirus" as early as 2015. The Wuhan Institute of Virology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences gave a speech at China's "National Virology Research Forum". The speaker was Guo Deyin, dean of the School of Medicine at Sun Yat-sen University in China. It is shown that the Wuhan Institute of Virology is closely related to the covid virus.

The epidemic in mainland China has worsened, and "green code" and "nucleic acid testing" have reappeared. It is expected that the authorities will use the epidemic to strengthen social control

Reporter : Wu Yitong / Editor  : Cheng Wen / https://www.aboluowang.com/2023/1205/1986297.html

Hospitals across China are overcrowded with children suffering from pneumonia.

The number of acute respiratory infections in mainland China is rising, with COVID-19 cases surging. Guangdong and other places have restarted the "green code". Yiwu, Zhejiang, once issued an initiative to "store grain for more than 10 days", but the post was deleted after causing public panic. Officials from the Chinese National Health Commission urgently stated that no new virus has been found and that there are mature treatments. Experts point out that what the National Health Commission said is contradictory. Some commentators pointed out that the CCP is currently under internal and external pressure and does not rule out using the epidemic to strengthen social control.

The epidemic in mainland China has intensified, and major hospitals are overcrowded with patients with acute respiratory infections, mainly children. The epidemic has spread from the north to East China, South China, and across the country. Among these cases, the new coronavirus has also made a comeback. Since last week, Fujian, Shaanxi, Beijing, Sichuan and other places have restarted "green codes", including Guangdong's "Guangdong Health Code" and Sichuan's "Tianfu Health Pass". Netizens continue to post the "health code" for their comeback on social media.

An anonymous netizen in Zhejiang told this station that the local "health code" has also been restored.

Zhejiang netizens said: "Guangdong has a (health code), and then we scanned it here yesterday, and the health code started to be used again..."

Last Friday (1st), He Xiaopeng, chairman of Xpeng Motors, posted on his Weibo account that he returned from overseas via Shanghai and was asked to take a nucleic acid test after arriving at the Shanghai airport. He questioned the airport staff and received a reply of "spot checks", but he questioned that the airport currently tests all passengers. On the same day, Yiwu, Zhejiang Province, issued an initiative on its official WeChat public account, calling on local people to store 10 days of food. It is said to enhance the emergency response capabilities of the whole society. Later, the article was suspected of being "harmony" and the page could no longer be opened.

Relevant news has activated people's memory of the "city lockdown". The CCP officially put out the fire. Mi Feng, spokesman for the National Health Commission and deputy director of the Publicity Department, said last Saturday (2nd), “According to monitoring, the current epidemic of acute respiratory diseases are all caused by known pathogens and have corresponding Mature treatment methods and no new infectious diseases caused by new viruses or bacteria have been discovered.”

This station interviewed a domestic scholar, whose name is withheld due to security concerns. The scholar said the Health Commission's statement was contradictory. He is worried that the authorities will take advantage of the new wave of epidemics to strengthen social control in order to avoid the many conflicts currently occurring in China both internationally and domestically.

The scholar said: "As it says, this is not a new virus. What mature methods do they have? Why are they still making it popular? Why not make the information more public? Everyone is also worried about its next step. How to do it? Maybe it takes this opportunity to block and control a certain range. Sometimes it needs a certain control. When this disease occurs, it takes the opportunity to control. The first thing it thinks of is stability and control. This control is not To control diseases, it is to control people. It is not based on the health of the people."

Beijing's "1989 artist" Ji Feng also said in an interview with this station that China is currently experiencing problems in all aspects, and crises can break out at any time. It is expected that the CCP will highly suppress social conflicts and voices of resistance in order to prevent the collapse of the regime.

Ji Feng said: "The epidemic is definitely getting worse. It is now causing economic decline, foreign investment withdrawal, and the impact of the epidemic on import and export. One disaster follows another. Even if this regime breathes its last breath, the CCP will not give up." , because giving up on it will lead to a dead end, it just depends on where the trigger comes from.”

During this wave of epidemics, on the one hand, the authorities claimed to have mature treatment methods. At the same time, the official media once again supported "Lianhua Qingwen", claiming that a report on "The effectiveness and safety of Lianhua Qingwen Granules in the treatment of mycoplasma pneumonia in children" "Research "has been launched in Beijing, and the Chinese National Health Commission also stated at a press conference last Saturday that traditional Chinese medicine has good efficacy in treating respiratory diseases.

In addition, starting last Friday, the Chinese Communist Party officially approved a number of domestically produced covi vaccines to be included in the "emergency use" list. Products from companies such as Synnovi, Jushi Biotech, China Cell, and Watson Biotech are included. However, the Chinese public had earlier suspected that the widespread childhood pneumonia was related to the sequelae of domestically produced vaccines.

The CCP may restart the "Lianhua Qingwen" epidemic prevention campaign; The public will not be fooled again

Reporters : Zhao Fenghua, Li Shanshan and Liu Fang / https://www.ntdtv.com/gb/2023/12/04/a103831620.html

China's "unknown pneumonia" epidemic broke out, and hospitals were overcrowded. The Chinese Communist Party authorities recently announced that they are preparing to launch traditional Chinese medicine for epidemic prevention and may launch "Lianhua Qingwen" again. Some mainland people said they did not believe that "Lianhua Qingwen" could prevent the epidemic and would not be fooled again this time.

On 29 November, the Chinese Communist authorities launched a clinical study on "Lianhua Qingwen Granules" and "Lianhua Qingwen Tablets" for the treatment of mycoplasma pneumonia in children. Three days later, the National Health Commission of the Communist Party of China announced at a press conference that traditional Chinese medicine is “very effective” in treating respiratory diseases and was preparing to launch traditional Chinese medicine for epidemic prevention.

Mr. Yan, a Beijing citizen, said that he had used "Lianhua Qingwen" during the CCP virus pandemic and found that it had no effect. He questioned that the CCP authorities, in pursuit of profits, had abandoned their government responsibilities of treating diseases and saving lives.

Mr. Yan, a Beijing citizen: "I have also taken Lianhua Qingwen, but it has no effect at all. When you go to the hospital and don't prescribe other medicines, you just take Lianhua Qingwen. Even if it has no effect, it is still being used. The doctor is not prescribing the medicine." Look at its efficacy, look at the commission, you see it is a medicine that has no effect, and in the end it is just for profit, so does this medicine still have its original meaning? No more."

People in the mainland also said that the Chinese Communist authorities are once again hyping up Lianhua Qingwen, which involves the CCP's interest chain and has nothing to do with treating diseases and saving people.

Mr. Wang from Mainland China: "Lianhua Qingwen is already in disrepute (referring to its discredited reputation). It turns out that it is useless to say that the treatment of the new coronavirus is effective. It is a matter between interest groups and has nothing to do with us. It doesn't matter if you are sick. I am determined not to use it, and I am against anyone in my family using it."

In early May 2020, when the CCP virus was raging in mainland China, Zhong Nanshan, a member of the senior expert group of the National Health Commission of the Communist Party of China and an academician of the Academy of Engineering, personally supported the "Lianhua Qingwen" campaign. The result was quickly questioned by the Swedish medical monitoring department.

Zhong Nanshan, academician of the Academy of Engineering: “We found that Lianhua Qingwen is effective.”

A few days later, the Swedish Medicines Agency discovered that Lianhua Qingwen only contained menthol and was ineffective against covid, and restricted its entry. Lianhua Qingwen capsules are banned from entering Sweden.

Subsequently, many media outlets exposed that Zhong Nanshan personally produced the Lianhua Qingwen platform for "Yiling Pharmaceuticals", which involved the interests of many pharmaceutical companies. Including the "Nanshan-Yiling Pulmonary Luo Joint Research Center" established in Guangzhou by Zhong Nanshan and Wu Yiling. Zhong Nanshan’s name is associated with at least three companies.

Respiratory symptoms have increased since the beginning of winter in China, and Mycoplasma pneumoniae, a bacterial infection that causes bacterial infection in children, has spread. Related epidemics have also occurred in Indonesia and are increasing day by day. The Indonesian health department has warned that tourists from China should be careful.

According to the "Jakarta Post" report, the Jakarta Public Health Department announced that the number of children with pneumonia symptoms has been increasing recently, and PCR test results show that the detection rate of Mycoplasma continues to rise. The authorities did not disclose the specific number of infections, emphasizing that more tests are being conducted to determine how widespread mycoplasma is.

The Jakarta Health Bureau requires the border to strengthen monitoring and pay close attention to the status of passengers, animals and cargo, especially passengers from China.

Mycoplasma pneumoniae is the smallest pathogen found so far and can replicate on its own. Unlike other bacteria, it does not have a cell wall. Many common antibiotics are ineffective against it. It is a common respiratory pathogen in children. Infection cases can be seen all year round. It is prone to infection. At the turn of spring, summer and autumn, the main route of infection is through droplet infection.

Pneumonia caused by Mycoplasma pneumoniae is different from ordinary pneumonia: The symptoms are usually mild and last for a long time, so it is called "walking pneumonia".

Side effects of the lockdown? Yiwu promotes grain harvesting for 10 days, causing panic, official response

封城后遗症?义乌促屯粮10天引发恐慌 官方回应
The Chinese Communist Party’s three-year lockdown and zero epidemic prevention measures have left a shadow on many people’s hearts. Recently, the epidemic broke out again in China. Yiwu, Zhejiang Province called on people to stockpile food for 10 days, triggering public panic. Afterwards, the official responded that this was routine work and should not be over-interpreted. Netizens angrily criticized the authorities for deliberately creating a tense atmosphere.

On 3 December 2023, Yiwu issued an initiative stating that in order to enhance the emergency response capabilities of the whole society, urban and rural residents are required to maintain grain storage for more than 10 days. This news made many people nervous and worried that the city would be closed again.

During the previous epidemic lockdown, various places went crazy for buying. This time the epidemic broke out again. Nucleic acid testing, health codes, Dabai, etc. have all reappeared. Yiwu officials requested food stocks during this sensitive period, which naturally caused panic among the people.

After the incident unfolded, Yiwu officials deleted the proposal for grain harvesting. The relevant person in charge of the Grain Reserve Section of the Yiwu Municipal Commerce Bureau responded that this is routine work every year and is not a special situation in Yiwu. I hope everyone will not over-interpret it.

However, the public did not accept the official response. Some netizens accused the authorities: "This is deliberately creating tension among the people so that businessmen can make a lot of money! To achieve the purpose of raising prices!"

Some netizens also asked: "Who initiated the initiative, with sinister intentions!"

Some netizens criticized the authorities: "It is unnecessary to do this, and there is no shortage of food. It controls the sky and the earth, and the people are panicked."
Image : Yiwu called on people to stockpile food for 10 days, and people criticized the authorities for creating a tense atmosphere. (Network screenshot)

Previously, the Chinese Communist Party implemented strict measures to close down cities and clear out epidemic prevention measures. Once an epidemic broke out in any place, officials would announce a lockdown, and residents were forced to frantically grab food and daily necessities. Yiwu is no exception. It has repeatedly announced the implementation of so-called "silent management" and requires residents to "stay at home", which is essentially a disguised closure of the city.

Videos show that on 2 August 2022, Qingkou Night Market, the second largest night market in Yiwu, was blocked overnight. Many citizens were trapped for 24 hours without water or food. They shouted slogans in protest: "Protest, protest, we want to eat, we Need to eat."

Yiwu is known as the "Capital of Small Commodities" and is home to millions of small, medium and micro enterprises. Their products are sold all over the world. The lockdown to prevent the epidemic has had a serious impact on the production and operations of enterprises and merchants.

Ms. Liu, who runs a small business, previously revealed to NTDTV that excessive epidemic prevention policies have destroyed Yiwu's economy. During the two and a half years of the epidemic, during the longest months of closure, the monthly rent of a small store was 25,000, and all the bosses were there. Operating at a loss, "A boss lady I know jumped directly from the 16th floor."

Zhou Ting revealed the inside story of being held hostage by the CCP, returned to China to renew his passport, and was forced to write a thank you letter

周庭披露遭中共挟持内幕 回国换护照 逼写感谢信

Recently, former Hong Kong core member and deputy secretary-general Zhou Ting announced her decision to "abandon bail" to stay in Canada and not return to Hong Kong, which aroused the attention of international public opinion. At the same time, she also disclosed the inside story of being held hostage by the CCP.

Zhou Ting, 27, was sentenced to 10 months in prison in December 2020 for actively participating in the Hong Kong anti-extradition protest movement in 2019, and was released in June 2021. After his release, Zhou Ting was still under investigation for the so-called crime of "colluding with foreign forces to endanger national security" and was released on bail pending summons. Her passport was also seized by the police.

After two and a half years of silence, on 3 December 2023, Zhou Ting posted on the online social media Instagram that she was currently studying at a university in Canada and originally planned to return to Hong Kong at the end of this month to report to the police. However, after careful consideration, she took into account the situation in Hong Kong and her personal safety, etc. She decided not to return to Hong Kong, and said that she "probably will never go back in my life."

She said that if she reports back, even if the National Security Bureau (National Security Division of the Hong Kong Police Force) does not arrest or take back her passport, they will most likely put forward some conditions or question her as they did before, and she needs to meet them before she can return to Canada.

"As the situation in Hong Kong becomes more serious, they can ban me from leaving the country at any time on the grounds of investigation. I don't want to be forced to do things I don't want to do anymore, and I don't want to be forced to go to mainland China again. If this continues, even if  my safety, body and mind can break down," she said.

Zhou Ting also disclosed that in early July this year, the National Security Bureau informed Zhou Ting that she could study in Canada, but the condition was that she be "accompanied" and "protected" by National Security Department personnel to mainland China as a condition for getting her passport back.

In August this year, she was "accompanied" by five National Security officers on a series of "visits" to Shenzhen, during which she was asked to take photos in some scenes. After returning to Hong Kong, she was asked by the National Security Bureau to write a "letter of thanks." She said she had been (forced to) write several such handwritten letters over the past few months.

Zhou Ting said, "I have never denied China's economic development, but such a powerful country wants to send people who fight for democracy to prison, restrict the freedom of entry and exit, and requires entering mainland China to visit patriotic exhibitions as a way to get their passports back. In exchange for conditions, this is not a kind of vulnerability."

"Actually, I don't have the right to refuse; at the same time, if something happens, I will take the initiative to be admitted. During that period, I was always very scared, fearing that everything would be my 'final'." She said.

Zhou Ting's letter was like a shock bomb, causing the Hong Kong government to hesitate. It issued a pursuit order against Zhou Ting on the evening of the 4th, and threatened that if Zhou Ting did not surrender, she would be "hunted for life", etc.

However, many netizens around the world expressed support for Zhou Ting's post, expressing support for all her decisions and wishing her peace.

Zhou Ting is well-known internationally. She can speak fluent Japanese and has a high reputation in Japan.

On 4 December 2023, Hong Kong writer Feng Jingqian posted on his Facebook that Zhou Ting’s long article revealed many truths about the operations of the National Security Police, including participating in the “Patriot Corps” and writing “letters of thanks” in exchange for freedom to leave the country. Here comes the question: Didn’t the CCP think about Zhou Ting abandoning bail? Or are you just looking for an excuse to let her go? "

Feng Jingqian said, does the CCP intend to let people go? I believe they did not do it deliberately. They must have expected that Zhou Ting would most likely abandon bail, but they just felt that it was okay to close the case in this way. Why? In fact, as early as August 2020, when Zhou Ting was arrested under the National Security Law, the CCP had discovered that she was a hot potato.

As soon as the news of Zhou Ting's arrest came out, Japan was in an uproar and the whole country was shocked. Politicians regardless of party affiliation issued statements in protest. This was a very rare situation.

Feng Jingqian said that the CCP's delay in taking serious action against Zhou Ting was not a bodhisattva-minded thing, nor was it pity for the beauty. It was just a trap for fear of triggering unnecessary diplomatic turmoil between Japan and China.

Feng Jingqian believes that this year, China’s economy has collapsed across the board, and there are internal and external troubles. Xi Jinping (leader of the Communist Party of China) urgently needs to reverse the decline in the relationship between the United States and China, so it is natural for him to extend an olive branch but what to do? Releasing the "hostages" is an option. In early July, the national security police contacted Zhou Ting and negotiated terms with her to "study abroad on parole." It cannot be ruled out that they took advantage of Blinken's and Yellen's visits to China in June to privately curry favor with the United States. As for whether Zhou Ting will eventually will come back, it does not matter at all.

After Hong Kong's sovereignty was handed over to the Chinese Communist Party, Hong Kong people carried out large-scale protests one after another. For example, in 2014, Hong Kong people launched a series of Umbrella Movements to fight for true universal suffrage; in 2019, large-scale "anti-extradition" pro-democracy protests broke out in Hong Kong for more than five months, and were violently suppressed by the CCP and the Hong Kong government.

On 30 June 2020, the Chinese Communist Party forced the implementation of the National Security Law in Hong Kong. Hong Kong’s free society and legal system were systematically undermined. Hong Kong not only completely blocked the press and freedom of speech, but also imprisoned hundreds of democrats, resulting in the thousands of residents chose to flee Hong Kong.

Do you really plan to never return to Hong Kong in your lifetime? Zhou Ting said in a recent video interview with Nippon Sankei Shimbun, "I think so, but if possible, I hope to return to Hong Kong one day and live freely. Because Hong Kong is my home."

Zhou Ting said, "Live freely. For many people, this may be a matter of course, but for me, it is very difficult and very valuable. In the past three years, I have been unable to do anything and feel very sad." pain."

When asked if she was forced to sign a divorce form in order to study in Canada, Zhou Ting said that she was surrounded by 4 or 5 police officers at the police station and was full of fear. She was worried that if she refused, she might be arrested and could not get her passport back. It's hard to resist in a police station.

Zhou Ting told Canada's "Globe and Mail" that she felt a sense of freedom after arriving in Canada, but still struggled to overcome anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder and panic attacks, all of which were diagnosed by a psychiatrist in Hong Kong. She said that for these reasons, she decided not to return to Hong Kong.

Zhou Ting said that she did not regret his political actions. "Although many people, including me, cannot go home because of political oppression in Hong Kong, I will say that I still believe that what I did was right."

Zhou Ting is in exile, Taiwan’s general election is about to happen, Tsai Ing-wen: We don’t want Hong Kong-style peace

Taiwan’s general election is coming soon, and the Democratic Progressive Party will hold a campaign rally on Sunday. President Tsai Ing-wen emphasized, "Look at Hong Kong and think about Taiwan. Taiwan does not want Hong Kong-style peace, but peace with dignity."

Tsai Ing-wen: "I want to ask all the good friends here, does anyone want a war? No one wants a war."

Regarding the opposition party's claim that "voting for the KMT is voting for peace," Taiwan President Tsai Ing-wen said on Sunday that the relevant claims were completely alarmist.

Tsai Ing-wen: "Everyone wants peace. Look at Hong Kong and think about Taiwan. We don't want Hong Kong-style peace. What we want is peace with dignity."

In June 2020, after the Chinese Communist Party forcibly implemented the National Security Law in Hong Kong, it completely blocked press and freedom of speech, and a large number of pro-democracy figures were thrown into prison.

Last Sunday, on her 27th birthday, former pro-democracy leader Zhou Ting, who had been sentenced and released from prison, announced her exile in Canada and said, "I will probably never return to Hong Kong in my life."

Democracy activist and executive director of Human Rights in China Zhou Fengsuo: "Her forced exile reflects the depravity of Hong Kong. Ultimately, I still hope that we can work together to overthrow the tyranny of the Chinese Communist Party and free Hong Kong."

Senior media person and international affairs commentator Tang Hao: "What Zhou Ting is experiencing now is actually a judgment against Hong Kong, which determines that Hong Kong has lost its freedom, human rights and rule of law, and its status as 'Asia's financial centre' has also gone forever.  Hong Kong’s golden years have been completely strangled by the totalitarian rule of the Chinese Communist Party.”

Last week, the Foreign Affairs Committee of the U.S. House of Representatives passed a bill with 39 votes in favour and 0 against, requiring confirmation that Hong Kong no longer enjoys a high degree of autonomy, which may result in the closure of Hong Kong's three economic and trade offices in the United States.

Tsai Ing-wen called on voters to think about what happened in Hong Kong during Taiwan's general election next month, and emphasized that peace with the strength of self-defense is a peace with dignity.

Zhou Fengsuo: "War has never been the choice of the Taiwanese people. It is the choice of the CCP. It is determined by the nature of the CCP, a dictatorial regime full of plunder and aggression."

Tang Hao: "This Taiwan election is essentially a showdown between 'liberal democracy and communist totalitarianism'. Any compromise and submission to the CCP in history will not bring real peace, but will instead lead to endless violence and suppression. Hong Kong is a bloody reminder and a wake-up call.”

Hsiao Meiqin: The most active person in shaping Taiwan’s independence movement is Beijing

萧美琴:形塑台湾独派最积极的是北京
Vice presidential candidate of the Republic of China Hsiao Bi-khim said that the most active person in shaping the independence faction in Taiwan is actually Beijing. In every election held in Taiwan over the past years, the influence of the CCP’s election can be seen. She emphasized that democracy is Taiwan's most important asset and the largest support base for democratic countries in the world. Therefore, maintaining the resilience of Taiwan's democracy should be a common goal for everyone.

Hsiao Bi-khim: China’s involvement in next year’s Taiwan election

Democratic Progressive Party vice presidential candidate Hsiao Bi-khim accepted an exclusive interview with the program "Zheng Knows" on the 4th. Former representative to the United States Hsiao Bi-khim talked about the inner transition of becoming Lai Ching-te's deputy. She mentioned that her work in the United States is to build a very stable and solid Taiwan-US relationship, and if there are disputes, she must find ways to overcome them. She has successfully positioned herself in this role, and is not mentally prepared to enter the whirlpool of political attack and defense every day.

Hsiao Bi-khim said that due to the subsequent development of Taiwan's political situation, as well as the expectations of many villagers for her, as well as the blue and white alliance and other topics in the political arena, there were traces of the CCP's election interference. In order to protect Taiwan's freedom, democracy and security, she has no reason to reject to be Lai Ching-te's deputy.

Regarding how to view the Taiwan Affairs Office of the Communist Party of China’s statement that Lai Hsiao Pei is “independence on top of others,” Hsiao Bi-khim pointed out, “How we match up should be a matter for the people of Taiwan to decide.” In fact, the CCP does not understand Taiwan’s public opinion on the election very well.

Hsiao Bi-khim said that if Beijing is willing to listen more and be more empathetic to understand Taiwan's public opinion, they will find that such offensive language, as well as the CCP's various pressures and threats of force in gray areas of Taiwan, are actually pushing the people of Taiwan further and further away. So strictly speaking, the ones who are most active in shaping and creating more pro-independence groups in Taiwan are actually in Beijing, because what they do is not lovable, but disgusting.

As for the origin of the title "War Cat", Hsiao Bi-khim said, "That's what I call myself." When she was about to go to the United States and was asked about facing the CCP's "Wolf Warrior" diplomats, she thought of "War Cat" compared to "Wolf Warrior", cats are more lovable, and everyone wants to get close to them. She also requires herself in Washington to achieve the qualities that people want to get close to. However, cats are very flexible and confident, and can maintain a sense of balance in complex environments. Cats have their own way of survival and can survive in a narrow space. Surviving in China is a bit like the fate of Taiwan’s diplomacy.

Hsiao Bi-khim pointed out that Taiwan's diplomacy often has to be in a gray space, to find greater opportunities and to avoid risks. "We just have to be very flexible, sometimes going forward, backward, left and right." We have to be cat-like. Softness, but another characteristic of cats is that they have their own thinking. They will not come over like a dog when called. "The cat will only come when I am happy. If you are good to me, I will be good to you." She believes that the same is true for Taiwanese people. They should not intimidate or threaten Taiwan. "If you want to get along with us, you must cherish and support us. Then Taiwanese people will face the world with kindness, generosity, and a very open mind."

When asked about Hsiao Bi-khim's attendance at Biden's inauguration in 2021, this is the first time that the Republic of China has received an official invitation from the U.S. Inauguration Preparatory Committee since Taiwan and the United States severed diplomatic relations. She believes that this is the first step for the Biden administration team to show support for Taiwan. Later, the United States provided Taiwan with vaccines, the signing of the U.S.-Taiwan trade agreement, and now the United States wants to help Taiwan solve the double taxation issue. She emphasized that the United States can trust that Taiwan is stable, will not cause trouble, and can understand each other. From the Trump administration to the Biden administration, Taiwan and the United States have been very closely connected.

Regarding the U.S. request that the CCP not interfere in Taiwan’s elections, Hsiao Bi-khim said that in fact, in every election in Taiwan over the years, the CCP’s interference can be seen, whether it is through intimidation and threats, or the CCP’s pressure on Taiwanese businessmen. As well as usual operations to influence Taiwan, etc. She emphasized that democracy is Taiwan's most important asset and the largest support base for democratic countries in the world. Therefore, maintaining the resilience of Taiwan's democracy should be a common goal for everyone.

Hsiao Bi-khim said that Biden asked the Chinese Communist Party not to intervene in the election, and the U.S. government is also very careful not to let the outside world mistakenly think that the United States is taking sides. Therefore, Laura Rosenberger, chairman of the board of directors of the American Institute in Taiwan (AIT), must visit Taiwan every time. The three camps, green, white and blue, all arrange meetings and have fair time. The U.S. side is very careful to strike a balance. Similarly, Taiwan's diplomacy in the United States is torn between the Democratic and Republican parties. Everyone must strike a balance very carefully in order to have greater confidence in their respective democratic systems.

When a country is about to perish, there must be monsters: You won’t know if you don’t see it, but it will scare you. Photographer: Very shocked!

Reporter : Wang Duruo / Editor : Li Dongqi / https://www.aboluowang.com/2023/1203/1985917.html

Recently, two videos released by Open Eyes Lab exposed shocking scenes somewhere in China, once again triggering strong social doubts about the irresponsible urban construction and design of the Chinese Communist regime. These two videos reveal the CCP’s disregard for moral bottom lines in urban planning, directly challenging people’s reasonable expectations for privacy and basic decency. Video of a woman passing a fully transparent men's restroom in Xiamen illustrates the alien design, sending chills through people's minds and raising widespread questions about the city's tolerance. The second video shows that the top of the fitting room in a Chinese shopping mall hall is not closed, once again causing people to deeply reflect on the ethics of the Chinese Communist regime in the planning and design of public places.

The exposure of these two videos once again highlights the CCP’s disregard for social values and basic morals, raising people’s doubts about whether the CCP truly respects the rights and interests of citizens. Amid the Communist Party’s ongoing moral decline, people are beginning to question whether urban development can really wait until the fall of the Communist Party to improve. This incident has once again sounded the alarm, calling for the regulation and improvement of such irresponsible urban design in order to maintain the basic moral bottom line of society. While the CCP continues to violate citizens’ rights, people’s expectations for urban construction have become more urgent, because only when the regime truly changes can it be possible to see these moral issues fundamentally resolved.

As soon as this week, the House of Representatives will vote to launch an impeachment inquiry into the president

The new speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives has continued to promote the conservative agenda after taking office. After releasing the surveillance video of the "January 6" attack on Congress, he launched the impeachment of President Biden. The investigation is also stepping up action.

Former US Speaker McCarthy had worked hard to promote an impeachment investigation against Biden. After the new Speaker Johnson took office, this plan is accelerating.

Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives Johnson: "This has become a necessary step."

Last weekend, when appearing on a Fox News interview show, Johnson bluntly stated that a vote to launch a formal impeachment inquiry has become a very necessary step after the White House continues to obstruct the investigations of three congressional committees. Johnson also said that Republicans already have enough votes to launch an investigation.

Last week, House Republicans said they would launch a vote to launch an impeachment inquiry as soon as this week.

House Oversight Committee Chairman James Cuomo: "This is a threat to national security at the highest levels of government, and Americans are demanding accountability for Biden's corrupt behavior."

However, Johnson also said that launching an impeachment investigation against the president is a very serious matter, so there will be comprehensive and meticulous preparations and will not be implemented hastily.

Johnson: "Impeachment is arguably the most important power Congress has, and that constitutional responsibility lies with the House of Representatives, and we have a responsibility to get to the bottom of it."

However, even if the House of Representatives can vote to formally launch an impeachment investigation against Biden, there is almost no possibility of convicting Biden in the Senate, where the Democratic Party holds a majority.

Trump has always maintained the lead in the Republican primaries. Recently, a new poll showed that 60% of Republicans would vote for Trump in the primary.

According to the latest poll jointly released by the US media NewsNation and the US election forecasting agency Decision Desk HQ, 60% of Republicans said they would support Trump in the Republican primary. About 21% of independent voters said they would vote for Trump if the primary were held today.

Polls also found that more men than women support Trump. 35% of men said they would support Trump, and about 28% of women supported him.

In addition to Trump's clear lead in the Republican primary, the race for second place has become closer in recent weeks. About 11% of Republicans said that if the primary election were held today, they would vote for Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, and about 10% of Republicans would support former United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley.

Conservative entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy received about 6% of Republican voters, and former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie received about 3%.

Neither North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum nor former Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson received support from 1% of Republicans.

When asked who they would vote for if their preferred candidate was not on the ballot, 11% said they would vote for Trump, 36% would support DeSantis and about 15% would support Ramaswa meters, about 14% would vote for Ms. Haley.

The poll was conducted among 3,200 registered voters on 26 and 27 November 2024 and had a margin of error of two percentage points.

Pneumonia outbreak among children in Ohio, Massachusetts, CDC says there is no surge in cases

Reporter : Jack Phillips/Compiled by Qiusheng / https://www.epochtimes.com/gb/23/12/4/n14129764.htm Image : On 23 April 2020, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) headquarters in Atlanta. (Tami Chappell/AFP via Getty Images)

美俄州麻州爆儿童肺炎 CDC称病例未激增
According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), as China reports a surge in cases, pneumonia cases among U.S. children appear to be consistent with previous years.

CDC Director Mandy Cohen told reporters on 1 December 1, “As of now, we have not seen any atypical emergency cases related to pneumonia.”

The federal agency said on 1 December that “national rates of pneumonia in patients ages 0 to 1 and 2 to 4 years are generally consistent with previous years.” For children ages 5 to 17, “more than 10% of emergency department visits were diagnosed with pneumonia. The percentages are similar to those seen in pre-pandemic years and still lower than those among younger children.”

According to the CDC, “Diagnosis rates of pneumonia and other respiratory illnesses in children increase each fall and winter; the percentage of weekly emergency department visits diagnosed with pneumonia is broadly consistent with previous years for children aged 0 to 4 years old, and slightly lower for children aged 5 to 17 years. Above typical levels but still consistent with pre-pandemic years.”

Authorities in Warren County, Ohio, say there has been a surge in pediatric pneumonia cases in area hospitals in recent weeks, but county officials said there does not appear to be a link to cases in China or elsewhere. There are also local media reports that pneumonia cases have also increased in Massachusetts.

In late November, the ProMed health monitoring system issued an alert about a surge in cases in multiple hospitals in China, raising concerns about a resurgence of COVID-19 about four years after it first emerged in Wuhan, China. The World Health Organization (WHO) also issued a statement urging greater transparency and asking Chinese officials to provide more information.

The CDC announcement stated that the agency is monitoring cases in China and Europe and "working closely" with state, local and international health officials.

"Based on laboratory findings, the increase in pediatric pneumonia cases does not appear to be caused by a new virus or other pathogen," the CDC said. "Instead, these increases are likely caused by viruses and bacteria we expect to emerge during the respiratory disease season." caused."

CDC Director Ms. Cohen also told reporters that "based on what we know," the disease in China "is not caused by a new virus or a new type of virus."

Senators seek travel ban

Meanwhile, several Republican senators last week called on President Joe Biden to impose a travel ban on China. These senators include Marco Rubio (Florida), Mike Braun (Indiana), J.D. Vance (Ohio), Rick Scott (Florida), Tommy Tuberville (Alaska) and Markwayne Mullin (Oklahoma).

The senators cited the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) "long history of lying about public health crises" and called on the federal government to take action to protect the U.S. economy and the health of Americans.

“During the COVID-19 pandemic, the Chinese Communist Party’s obfuscation of the facts and lack of transparency have denied the United States important information about the disease and its origins,” the lawmakers wrote in their letter to the president, referring to COVID-19. The coronavirus spread in central China in late 2019, but the Chinese regime failed to alert the United States and other governments around the world.

They wrote, “This means we should immediately restrict travel between the United States and (China) until we know more about the dangers posed by this new disease. Banning travel now could save our country from deaths, lockdowns, enforcement measures and further outbreaks in the future.”

With the exception of the CDC, the White House has yet to publicly respond to reported cases of pneumonia in China.

In late November, U.S. Ambassador to Japan Rahm Emanuel called on China to increase the transparency of its reports. Emanuel is a Democrat who served as mayor of Chicago and as an Obama administration official. He wrote on social media, "The recent pneumonia outbreak in China has raised many serious questions, and the World Health Organization is raising these questions. The deception and delay about COVID must be stopped at this moment. Only transparent and timely information can save lives." .”

Meanwhile, Chinese officials claim the increase in cases can be attributed to respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), covid, influenza and Mycoplasma pneumoniae, a common bacterial infection that often affects younger children. The WHO said in a statement last week that it was monitoring the situation and requested more information.

Outbreak cases in Ohio and Massachusetts

The Warren County Health District in Ohio announced 142 cases of pediatric pneumonia since August 2023, noting that the number is higher than the county average and meets the state's definition of an outbreak.

Ohio officials added that they "do not believe this is a novel/new respiratory disease, but rather a large increase in the number of pneumonia cases that typically occur at the same time." They also said students should wash their hands frequently and cover their coughs. Shut up and stay home when you are sick.

Cases of childhood pneumonia have also emerged in Massachusetts, local media reported, but provided few details.
