According to the website of the Chinese Communist Embassy in Nauru, on 8 August 2024, Ambassador to Nauru Lyu Jin met with James Blake the CEO of Nauru Airlines.

Lyu Jin said that aviation is the basic means for Nauru to connect with the world, and Nauru Airlines holds the lifeline of Nauru's development, and its importance is self-evident.

CCP China is willing to deepen aviation cooperation with Nauru, increase the flight frequency and capacity of Nauru Airlines, and build Nauru into an aviation logistics hub in the Central Pacific. The Chinese Communist country is also willing to discuss with Nauru the possibility of opening direct flights between the two countries to promote the smooth flow of people and logistics and facilitate friendly exchanges between the two countries.

Blake said that he has visited China many times and highly appreciates China's development achievements. He is very happy to see the resumption of diplomatic relations between Nauru and CCP China, which will become an important opportunity for Nauru's development.

Although Nauru Airlines is small in size, it plays an important role in connecting countries in the Central Pacific region. The airline is willing to deepen aviation cooperation with China to enhance Nauru's status as a regional aviation hub.
