According to the Oriental Daily, Malaysia, Malaysia is about to welcome a new airline, Ascend Airways Malaysia Sdn Bhd, which plans to officially start operations by the end of 2025 and introduce two 737-800s and four 737MAX 8 aircraft.

Ascend will focus on providing aircraft, crew, maintenance and insurance (ACMI) services to provide air transport support for the cargo and passenger markets. Ascend is supported by UK-based Ascend Aviation, which itself belongs to Avia Solutions Group (ASG), one of the world's largest ACMI service providers, headquartered in Dublin, Ireland.

Ascend said, "As a member of the ASG Group, we are committed to enhancing the Malaysian aviation market and providing reliable ACMI services to airlines, travel agencies, charter brokers, government agencies and non-governmental organizations (NGOs)."

Ascend obtained the Aviation Services License (ASP) from the Malaysian Aviation Commission in November last year, valid from 15 November 2024 to 14 November 2025.

Currently, Ascend Airlines is applying for an Airline Operating Certificate (AOC) from the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM).
