Biden uses a ventilator, and his health is under the spotlight again

The White House confirmed on 28 June 2023 that US President Joe Biden has recently started using a ventilator to treat sleep apnea. At the age of 80, Biden's health has attracted more attention.
When Biden left the White House to take a flight to Chicago that morning, the media found obvious indentations on his cheeks.
In response to media inquiries, White House Deputy Press Secretary Andrew Bates said in a statement that since 2008, Biden has disclosed in detailed medical reports that he has a history of sleep apnea.
The statement said that Biden used a CPAP machine last night (27 June 2023), which is common for people with a history of this condition.
Sleep apnea is a common condition that research shows can lead to forgetfulness, fatigue and lethargy, and eventually to cardiovascular disease.
News of Biden's use of the CPAP machine, which is commonly used to help treat sleep apnea patients, was first reported by Bloomberg.
A person familiar with the matter pointed out that Biden has started using CPAP in recent weeks to improve sleep quality.
At 80, Biden, the oldest president in U.S. history, is seeking re-election in the 2024 election, and his age and health have been a focus of voter attention.
The White House physician said after Biden's annual physical examination report in February this year was released that the examination results showed that Biden was a healthy and vigorous 80-year-old man suitable for the presidency.
However, a Saint Anselm College poll released Tuesday (27 June 2023) found that 70 percent of respondents said they were concerned about Biden's age.
