There will be some adjustments to the rules of Award Tickets in the COSMILE program from March 1, 2024: |
1. For round-trip award tickets, one stopover is permitted respectively from the departure to the turnaround point and from the turnaround point to the destination. The maximum duration of each stopover is 7 days from the local time of arrival at the stopover point. Please note that this does not apply to award tickets issued on/before February 29, 2024.
- For example, an itinerary of a round-trip award ticket is from Los Angeles to Bangkok via Taipei. If the passenger departs from Los Angeles on May 1, 2024, and arrives in Taipei on May 3, 2024, he/she shall leave for Bangkok no later than May 10, 2024. The same goes for the inbound.(The above rule is not applicable to itineraries without transfer points, such as Taipei - Tokyo - Taipei.)
2. The area of turnaround and stopover must differ from the area of departure and destination. Excluding Taiwan, areas can be categorized into Northeast Asia, Southeast Asia, Mainland China, and America. Please refer to the chart below. |
Area | Route | Northeast Asia | Japan | Southeast Asia | Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, Philippines | Mainland China | Mainland China (including Hong Kong, Macau) | America | The U.S.A |
- For example, an itinerary of Hanoi - Taipei - Chiang Mai - Taipei - Hanoi is not applicable, since the turnaround point (Chiang Mai) is in the same Southeast Asia area as the departure (Hanoi) and the destination (Hanoi).
3. Cabin change: Due to aircraft changes, if the “redemption standard” and “the region of the route” remain the same (The applicable regions for award tickets are “Within Asia” and “Between Asia and America.), passengers are able to contact STARLUX Customer Service Center and request for cabin change. Award tickets issued on/before February 29, 2024, are also applicable. Please note that STARLUX reserves the right to adjust the seats for award tickets subject to the reservation of each flight. Seats for award tickets might not be available on some flights while the seats for other fare products remain available. - Example 1: When a passenger redeemed a first-class award ticket from Tokyo to Los Angeles via Taipei which the segment of Tokyo to Taipei did not provide first-class services, a business-class service would be replaced. However, if the aircraft changed due to fleet scheduling and first-class services were then provided, the passenger could contact STARLUX Customer Service Center and request to change the cabin from business class to first class without paying extra mileages or reissue fee while any taxes or charges imposed on the ticket shall still be paid by the passenger.
- Example 2: Passengers who originally redeemed a premium-economy-class award ticket from San Francisco to Tokyo via Taipei could contact STARLUX Customer Service Center to change the route to a premium-economy-class award ticket from San Francisco to Da Nang via Taipei. However, if the segment of Taipei to Da Nang did not provide premium-economy-class services, it would be replaced by economy classes while the mileages would not be refunded.
4. Route change: Route change is accepted only when the “redemption standard” and “the region of the route” remain the same. (The applicable regions for award tickets are “Within Asia” and “Between Asia and America.) Award tickets issued on/before February 29, 2024, are also applicable. Please note that STARLUX reserves the right to adjust the seats for award tickets subject to the reservation of each flight. Seats for award tickets might not be available on some flights while the seats for other fare products remain available. - For example, passengers who originally redeemed an economy-class award ticket from Tokyo to Singapore via Taipei could contact STARLUX Customer Service Center to change the route to an economy-class award ticket from Singapore to Tokyo via Taipei without paying extra mileages or reissue fee while any taxes or charges imposed on the ticket shall still be paid by the passenger.
5. The above award ticket rules and benefits are only applicable to passengers with STARLUX Airlines tickets (189) and flights operated by STARLUX Airlines. |
