At 10.37 am on 15 June 2024, a Boeing 757-200 cargo plane fully loaded with high value-added goods took off from Xi'an Xianyang International Airport. After a 4.5-hour flight, it landed smoothly at Almaty International Airport, marking the smooth opening of Northwest Cargo Airlines' "Xi'an=Almaty" all-cargo route and an important step in the construction of Xi'an Airport's main operating base.

This route is the first international route from Xi'an to Central Asia operated by North-western Cargo. The transport categories include electronic products, mechanical parts, specialty agricultural products and other goods, mainly serving the local new energy vehicles, electronic information and other industrial supply chain needs.

In order to ensure the smooth opening of the route, with the support and guidance of the Civil Aviation Northwest Regional Administration and the group company and the great help of various support units such as Xi'an Xianyang Airport, Customs, and Border Inspection, the company attached great importance to it, made careful preparations, established a special working group, carried out aircraft airworthiness inspections, safety risk assessments, route operation assessments, and other work, and conducted on-site inspections at Almaty International Airport, efficiently completing all pre-flight preparations, and laying a solid foundation for the smooth implementation of the route.

Based on the opening of this Central Asian route, North-western Cargo will resolutely implement Shaanxi Province's "One Belt One Road" key route development strategy, deeply tap the potential of the air cargo market, optimize internal resource allocation, strengthen external industry collaboration, and increase domestic and international cargo routes originating from Xi'an, so as to better assist the construction of Xi'an's airport-type national logistics hub.
