香港专家:一场更可怕的病毒大流行已不可避免
Hong Kong microbiologist Yuen Guoyong said that another virus pandemic is not only inevitable, but may also cause a more serious disaster than the covid virus (Covid-19).

AFP reported on 19 July 2024 that Yuen Guoyong said in an interview at Hong Kong Queen Mary Hospital: "The public and (world) leaders must admit that another pandemic will come, and it may be faster than you expect."

Yuen Guoyong works and teaches at this hospital. His team has been involved in studying some of the world's most serious virus threats, including assisting in the isolation and identification of the SARS virus.

He told AFP that he made such a dire prediction because "you can clearly see that geopolitical, economic and climate change is changing so fast."

He warned that world leaders are now more focused on "national or regional interests," but the rapidly changing climate and emerging infectious diseases should be the top priority and "should not be ignored."

The report said that although Yuen Guoyong was cautious in his words and tried to avoid political topics, he insisted that understanding the origin of the covid virus was key. He called for "a very open and transparent way to properly conduct the investigation" so that lessons could be learned for future epidemic prevention.

Prior to this, the World Health Organization and countries such as the United States had asked Beijing to assist in investigating the origin of the covid virus but the CCP has been obstructing the traceability investigation and has retaliated against Australia, which publicly advocated tracing the origin of the virus.

In the AFP interview video (video link) forwarded by Radio Free Asia, Yuen Guoyong also gave a more detailed description of another pandemic he predicted.

He said: "This time there may be 400 million deaths, which is a very terrible number."

He believes that this pandemic is inevitable and may cause more serious damage than Covid-19.

In this video, Yuen Guoyong did not explain the specific basis for his prediction. But he mentioned "geopolitics", which made many netizens on the X platform think whether this was "foreshadowing that the CCP will release more terrible biological weapons."

As early as January this year, when attending the World Economic Forum in Davos, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Secretary-General of the World Health Organization, warned about "Disease X": an "unknown" pathological phenomenon may lead to "a mortality rate 20 times higher than the covid pandemic."

The so-called "Disease X" is a term adopted by the WHO in 2018. It is not a specific disease but refers to a hypothetical, unknown pathogen. This pathogen may be an international pandemic.

Prior to this, two major plagues had broken out in China and spread to the world. One was SARS in 2003 and the other was the covid virus in 2019. These two major plagues caused huge casualties in mainland China, and the CCP authorities have been covering up the real numbers. Recently, local governments have occasionally leaked some statistics reflecting the number of deaths, but they will soon be blocked.

In July 2022, the Shanghai Public Security Bureau database was leaked on a large scale, involving the identity information of 1 billion Chinese citizens. Many people speculated whether this 1 billion people was the actual population of China at the time. If so, the number of deaths caused by the epidemic was staggering.

At the end of 2022, the CCP relaxed epidemic control, and then CCP China's economy declined rapidly, and the real estate industry was in a slump. Some people suspect that CCP China's population crash may be one of the main reasons for the economic recession.
