大陆多地密集爆自来水污染事件 业内人士揭内幕

For several consecutive days, "sewage", "muddy water" and "black water" broke out in many provinces in the mainland, mixed with odors and foreign objects, causing many citizens to worry about their drinking water safety. Industry insiders revealed that this is a concentrated outbreak of systemic problems that have accumulated for a long time in China.

On 22 July 2025, a netizen in Yanfang Township, Zhanyi District, Qujing City, Yunnan Province posted a video, saying that a large basin of water was filled in the tap, and the water that came out was still muddy. The video shows that the faucets sprayed white water and turbid water crosswise.

Just last Wednesday (16 July 2025), residents in Yuhang District, Hangzhou, found that the tap water had turned into "fecal water" with a foul smell of feces, which triggered public opinion. Although Hangzhou officials have repeatedly reported that the water quality "meets the standard", netizens later posted a video saying that when the tap was turned on, there was still a smell of fecal water, and the gauze was still left with yellow spots after filtering with gauze.

Many videos in recent days show that residents brought their own buckets, water dispensers, kettles and other utensils after get off work and went to various water sources in the suburbs to queue up for water.

The Yuhang fecal water incident was just a fuse. The outside world found that in recent days, netizens in Guangdong, Chongqing, Hubei, Anhui, Guizhou, Guangxi and other places have posted videos or pictures on social media, saying that the tap water at home is abnormal, some are yellow, some are black, coffee-coloured, mixed with oil and foreign matter.

Among them, a blogger in Xiantang Town, Dongyuan County, Heyuan City, Guangdong Province, released videos continuously from 19 to 21 July 2025, saying that the tap water in the villagers' homes was yellow, and called the Central Inspection Team of the Communist Party of China to report it many times, but received no response.

A similar situation also occurred in Peixing Town, Dianjiang County, Chongqing. A video on 19 July 2025 showed that local residents turned on the tap and black liquid gushed out for several minutes. The resident said that this odorous water quality has troubled the villagers for many years but no one has responded.

Problems with tap water in many places in the Communist Party of China

It was revealed that the tap water in Chongqing had impurities and odors for a long time, and even turned black.

At 8 am on 19 July, in Peixing Town, Dianjiang County, Chongqing, a netizen complained: The tap water is black when it is turned on, and it lasts for several minutes. What's the problem? For many years, there have been impurities and odors in the water.

The blogger who posted the article asked: Can this tap water be drunk? It has not been clean for many years. pic.twitter.com/bfAUOhzsNr

On 20 July, the tap water in Min County, Dingxi City, Gansu Province turned brown. The blogger joked, "You guys are so good, people in Yuhang drink water and send shit, you drink water and send mud."

On 21 July, villagers in Yindian Town, Sui County, Suizhou, Hubei Province posted a video showing that the water from the tap was extremely turbid, even more turbid than river water.

In addition, in Bozhou, Anhui, Fujian, Guizhou and Binyang, Guangxi, there have been reports of tap water turning yellow, turbid and having a strong odor.

As early as the beginning of this month, many residents in the city of Jiangmen City, Guangdong reported that the tap water in their homes was dark yellow and had an odor. Residents joked that they saved soy sauce when cooking. In response, the official said that there was no problem with the water quality after monitoring, which aroused public doubts.

Searches have found that in the past few years, tap water in mainland China has frequently had water quality problems, but this time the outbreak is more concentrated, causing concern and health concerns. As to why drinking water, which is vital to human survival, has problems, independent environmental researcher Huang Tong (pseudonym) pointed out to the Epoch Times that there are a large number of water sources in rural areas and urban-rural fringe areas in China that lack effective isolation zones. "During the rainy season, livestock and poultry manure, industrial wastewater and even domestic garbage may seep into the water body. In addition, the level of water purification technology is generally low, and pollution eventually directly enters residents' homes." Huang Tong said that such incidents are not occasional, but "a concentrated outbreak of long-accumulated systemic problems." He bluntly said, "Many tap water companies are supported by local finances. When faced with the problems of aging equipment, rising costs of chemicals, and long-term disrepair of pipe networks, local finances have long been stretched, and even employees have been owed wages. How can they still have the ability to ensure that the people drink clean water?"
