The CCP’s flood discharge ignited civil anger, and large-scale protests erupted in Hebei

The CCP’s flood discharge caused the city of Bazhou in Hebei Province to be flooded, leaving tens of thousands of people homeless and ruined. However, the CCP’s CCTV report falsely claimed that the flood was “caused by heavy rain.” This statement ignited civil anger. On 5 August 2023, large-scale protests broke out in Hebei. In front of the government building, violent clashes broke out between protesters and police.
On 4 August 2023, the CCTV website of the Communist Party of China reported on "Bazhou, Hebei: Rainfall caused some villages to submerge and all trapped people were transferred", claiming that the flooding of Bazhou was "due to the impact of rainfall." CCTV News also broadcast the news at the same time.
The news outraged the people besieged by the floods. On 5 August 2023, villagers in Dongyangzhuang Village, Bazhou, went to the government building to protest. They held up banners reading "Give me back my home, it was obviously caused by flood discharge, but it was caused by rain" to protest.
The live video posted on the Internet showed that the people at the scene were angry and protested loudly. When the people were filming, the on-site staff stopped the people from videotaping, and the people asked "why not let me record", that is, "record you!" There are also videos showing that fierce conflicts broke out at the scene, and a group of men in black held police shields and beat the villagers.
Local people protested one after another. Under the pressure of public opinion, on 5 August, the Bazhou Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China and the Bazhou Municipal Government issued a letter to the villagers, saying that from 2 am on 1 August 2023, Hebei Province decided to activate the East Deposit and flood detention areas. "All the people in the Dongdian flood storage and detention area of our city obeyed the command, responded positively, and moved out of their long-lived homes without hesitation." This letter also means that the authorities admit that the flood in Bazhou was caused by "flood discharge".
However, the local official "fire extinguishing letter" could not extinguish the anger of the people. On 5 August, the voices of netizens protested continued to ferment, and they posted flood videos and pictures to express their protest to the CCP authorities.
A netizen named "Bacillus xl" said, "@央TV.com distorts the facts. Bazhou and Zhuozhou caused so much flooding. As many villages and houses were lost. Aerial photography of each village caused the flood to only have roofs, saying that it was caused by rainfall. Are you sorry for the farmers who lost their homes?! What about their sacrifices? What about their homes? Why did they move?! When Du Surui came, how much rain fell in these two places? There is no water in the village. Can Official Weibo report truthfully?!"

Countless victims lost their homes and became homeless. Bazhou has 47 natural disasters inundating villages, these villages have been submerged. I hope that all the media will speak with facts, and don’t say that the property losses caused by the flood discharge of the people of Bazhou, Hebei Province are caused by rain!
