The paper was published on the BIORXIV (pronounced "bio-archive") platform, titled "Lethal Infection of Human ACE2-Transgenuc Mice Caused by SARS-CoV-2-related Pangolin Coronavirus GX_P2V(short_3UTR)", a free online archiving and publishing platform for unpublished papers in the life sciences. The platform is operated by the world-renowned Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory (CSHL) located in New York, USA. It is a non-profit private scientific research and education centre.
The paper (https://www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/2024.01.03.574008v1.full) stated that before the outbreak of the covid virus, they discovered two pangolin coronaviruses related to SARS-CoV-2, GD/2019 and GX/2017 (1, 2), and cultured their respective strains in 2020 and 2017 respectively, isolated them, and the infectivity and pathogenicity of these isolates have been studied.
CCP experts found that the virus can infect hACE2 mice, with high viral loads detected in both lung and brain tissue. This infection resulted in 100% death of the mice. It is speculated that the cause of death may be related to late-stage brain infection.
Introduction: Surprisingly, all mice infected with live virus succumbed to infection within 7-8 days after inoculation, a mortality rate of 100%. Starting from the fifth day after infection, the mice began to lose weight, reaching 10% of the initial weight loss by the 6th day. On the 7th day after infection, the mice showed symptoms such as hair erection, hunched posture, slow movement, and their eyes turned white.
The article states, "This is the first report showing that pangolin coronavirus related to SARS-CoV-2 can cause 100% death in hACE2 mice, indicating that GX_P2V has the risk of spreading to humans. Aboluowang reporters found that among the researchers, six were from the School of Life Sciences and Technology of Beijing University of Chemical Technology, two were from the General Hospital of the People's Liberation Army of China, and one was from Nanjing University School of Medicine.
The news, also reported by the New York Post, said the deadly virus is a mutated version of GX/2017, which was discovered in Malaysian pangolins in 2017, three years before the pandemic.

Wall Street Journal: China identified covid weeks before telling the world
Chinese Communist researchers identified SARS-CoV-2 (covi), the virus that causes COVID-19 (covid, in short) at least two weeks before Beijing informed the world of the deadly disease, according to congressional investigators.

Experts say the extra two weeks could have been crucial in helping the international medical community deal with covid -- pinpointing how it spread, developing medical defenses,a nd seeking a vaccine, the Journal reported.
The report raises questions about what the Chinese communists knew during the early days of teh pandemic. The documents did not specify whetehr covid emerged from an infected animal or a lab leak but they indicate there is still much to learn about the pandemic's origin.
Jesse Bloom, a virologist at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Centre in Seattle, reviewed the documents and the recently discovered gene sequence.
"[The report] underscores how cautious we have to be about the accuracy of the information that the Chinese (CCP) government has released," Bloom told the Journal. "It's important to keep in mind how little we know."
In June, the Substack newsletter "Public" reported that the first people infected by the virus included researchers who led the Wuhan Institute of Viology (WIV)'s "gain-of-function" research on SARS-like coronaviruses.
Dong Yuhong, a European virology and infectious disease expert, said, "This is still a (research) from Beijing. That was in Wuhan, and it may have been earlier. We have more and more evidence that the Chinese government's epidemic prevention model does not protect ordinary people. safety and global public health impact first.”
