The Republic of Nauru announced on 15 January 2024 that it had severed diplomatic relations with the Republic of China (Taiwan) and restored diplomatic relations with CCP China. CCP China and Nauru claimed that Nauru’s move recognized the so-called "one-China principle" and emphasized that "one-China" "Principle" is in line with United Nations General Assembly Resolution 2758. It is also the first time in history that Taiwan's friendly countries have used this as a reason for severing diplomatic relations. Laura Rosenberger, president of the American Institute in Taiwan, pointed out today that UN General Assembly Resolution 2758 "does not determine Taiwan's status." It does not exclude any country from establishing diplomatic relations with Taiwan, nor does it exclude Taiwan from meaningful participation. The United Nations system is "very disappointed" by this incident.

A senior cross-party delegation composed of former U.S. National Security Advisor Stephen Hadley and former Deputy Secretary of State James Steinberg arrived in Taiwan on the 14th. Rosenberg, who accompanied him, held a discussion with the media on 16 January 2024.

Rosenberg pointed out that although the Nauru government made the decision to sever diplomatic relations based on sovereignty, it was "disappointing" to the United States. China often made various promises in exchange for friendship, "but these promises are often not fulfilled." "; She reiterated that Taiwan is a trustworthy democratic partner with similar ideas. The United States supports all countries in interacting with Taiwan. It will also continue to deepen and expand exchanges with Taiwan, strengthen the common interests and values of the two countries, and continue to support Taiwan's meaningful participation in the international community and society.

Asked whether the United States will further consolidate relations with Pacific island countries, she said that a free and open Indo-Pacific region is in the interests of the United States. The U.S. government has also taken many measures in the past few years to enhance bilateral interactions between the United States and Pacific island countries. "I expect this interaction will continue."

The media is concerned that Nauru uses United Nations General Assembly Resolution 2758 as the legal basis for the shift to diplomatic recognition. The Taiwan International Solidarity Act passed by the U.S. House of Representatives without objection in July last year clearly states that the resolution "does not address the issue of representation of Taiwan and its people in the United Nations or related organizations, it does not take a position on the relationship between the People's Republic of China and the Republic of China, or include any statement on Taiwan's sovereignty."

Rosenberg made it clear that UN General Assembly Resolution 2758 "does not determine Taiwan's status" and does not exclude any country from establishing diplomatic relations with Taiwan, nor does it exclude Taiwan from meaningful participation in the United Nations system. He also emphasized that some people use the resolution as a tool to oppress Taiwan and limit Taiwan's voice on the international stage and diplomatic relations. "We are very disappointed."

In this regard, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of China (Taiwan) pointed out that the full text of the resolution neither mentions Taiwan, nor can it state that Taiwan is part of the People's Republic of China. It does not legally authorize the People's Republic of China to represent Taiwan and Taiwan in the United Nations and its specialized agencies and people. Such deliberate actions by CCP China are in conflict with the universal principles upheld by the Charter of the United Nations. They are inconsistent with law, reason and sentiment.

Foreign sources: Nauru wants more than NT$2.6 billion and will break off diplomatic relations while still negotiating

Taiwan has severed diplomatic relations with Nauru. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of China (Taiwan) pointed out that Nauru has asked for huge economic aid from my country and compared the aid packages provided by Taiwan and China. People familiar with the matter revealed that the financial gap caused by Australia’s closure of the Nauru Refugee Processing Center (RPC) was “the last straw in Taiwan-Norway relations”, equivalent to approximately NT$2.6 billion, accounting for more than 50% of Nauru’s annual budget. “How? Maybe this is a waste of taxpayers’ money?”

People familiar with the matter pointed out that the political situation in Nauru has been unstable in the past two years, but the last straw that broke the relationship between Taoiseach and Nauru was the temporary closure of the Nauru Refugee Processing Center by Australia last year. The funds required by the center accounted for more than 10% of the annual budget of the Nauru government. Half, many job opportunities are also available.

According to the official website of Nauru’s Ministry of Finance, the annual budget from 2022 to 2023 is approximately 250 million Australian dollars, and 50% is 125 million Australian dollars, which is approximately NT$2.6 billion.

"How is it possible to spend taxpayers' money like this?" People familiar with the matter said that despite this, we and the Nauru government are still negotiating possible solutions and jointly providing economic assistance with countries with similar ideals, but we have not received any response from other countries. Nauru then announced the severance of diplomatic relations with Taiwan, which is why it was called a "surprise attack."

People familiar with the matter also revealed that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is still evaluating the funding for track and field projects for Nauru to host the 2026 Micronesian Games and the financial gap caused by the closure of the Australian Bendigo Bank branch in Nauru, "but it is not impossible burden".

"China is taking advantage of this," he stressed. We can find out more by observing China's aid plans for Nauru in the future. After all, Taiwan announced the severance of diplomatic relations just after the election.

People familiar with the matter said that Zhou Jinfa, the new ambassador to Nauru, took office on the 12th. He felt that there was a difference in the atmosphere even before he submitted his credentials. He added that the former ambassador to Nauru, Lin Dingxiang, applied for transfer for some reason in the middle of last year, and Zhou Jinfa did not "rush to Nauru to put out the fire", but a normal personnel deployment.

He also pointed out that the outside world generally believes that Nauru President Adeang has friendly relations with Taiwan, "but the shadow dancer behind him who was the former president is the key"; and warned that after Kiribati and Solomon were poached by CCP China, the loss of Nauru as a friendly country also means that the second island chain has been breached by the CCP, so the Republic of China must be vigilant.

The South Pacific island country Nauru suddenly announced that it would break off diplomatic relations with the Republic of China (Taiwan) and instead establish diplomatic relations with CCP China. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of China (Taiwan)  stated that Nauru has recently requested huge amounts of economic assistance from Taiwan and used Taiwan's aid plan with China. After conducting price comparisons, they finally succumbed to CCP China's inducements, ignored Taiwan's long-term assistance and friendship, and entered into negotiations to establish diplomatic relations with CCP China, causing a public outcry. In response, Democratic Progressive Party spokesperson Zhuo Guanting angrily criticized, "Taiwan will make friends with the world. Friendships are based on mutual benefit and mutual respect, not love!"

Zhuo Guanting said on Facebook this evening, "Just after the Taiwan election, the CCP is eager to punish. It is really boring. How many times have Taiwanese people seen this in the past few years? Nauru is tempted by CCP China's economic benefits to sever diplomatic relations with us. Is it okay? Let’s first look at how badly Honduras, our senior student, was deceived by the CCP. Don’t forget that in March last year, Honduras sent a quotation with a total price of more than 2.4 billion, asking the Republic of China to provide 90 million yuan for hospitals and 350 million yuan to build dams, the national debt is 2 billion, We have no intention of paying it, so they went to establish diplomatic relations with the CCP, and less than a year has passed."

CCP has not provided Honduran shrimp farmers with subsidies, Honduras Aquaculture Association has collapsed

He continued: "China's promise to provide shrimp farmers in Honduras with subsidies did not materialize. Instead, China asked Honduras to sell shrimp to China at a price that is 50% lower than the sales price. Looking back, without our diplomatic relations, there would be no our country. 20% tariff concession, the Honduras Aquaculture Association collapsed less than a week ago, the closure of the farms caused thousands of people to lose their jobs, and NT$1.21 billion in foreign exchange evaporated. Punish Taiwan? I don’t think so. Taiwan will make friends with the world, and making friends is mutually beneficial. Respect each other, not love!"

Reporter : Zhong Yuan / Editor : Ye Ziwei / https://www.epochtimes.com/gb/24/1/16/n14159219.htm

Foreign Minister Joseph Wu Zhaoxie of the Republic of China visited Guatemala on 15 January 2024 with the Prime Minister of the  of St. Vincent & The Grenadines Gonsalves. During a video call with Ralph Gonsalves, Prime Minister Gonsalves reiterated that the friendship between Taiwan and St. Vincent is stable and condemned Nauru  for abandoning diplomatic relations with Taiwan.

The presidential election of the Republic of China just concluded on the 13th. The Democratic Progressive Party’s presidential and vice presidential candidates Lai Ching-te and Hsiao Bi-Khim won the election. The CCP immediately put pressure on Taiwan to induce Nauru, an ally of the Republic of China, to sever diplomatic relations with Taiwan. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of China held a press conference on 15 January. Parliamentary Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Tian Zhongguang stated that it was learned that Nauru will sever diplomatic relations with the Republic of China. In order to safeguard national dignity and sovereignty, it will terminate diplomatic relations with the Republic of Nauru with immediate effect.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of China issued a press release on the 16th stating that Prime Minister Gong Safu first congratulated the Republic of China on the successful election and congratulated President-elect Lai Ching-te on his victory, and expressed his hope to lead a delegation to visit Taiwan to participate in the inauguration ceremony of the new president. Wu Zhaoxie thanked Prime Minister Gonsalves for his congratulations, and on behalf of the Government of the Republic of China, he wholeheartedly welcomed Prime Minister Gonsalves to visit Taiwan in May to participate in the inauguration celebrations.

Prime Minister Gonsalves condemned Nauru for abandoning diplomatic relations with Taiwan, and emphasized that the Holy Nation is the most loyal friend of the Republic of China. It will firmly safeguard the diplomatic relations between Taiwan and St. Vincent, and deepen relations with Taiwan on the basis of existing friendly cooperation. It will continue to do so in the future. One belief supports the new government team. Joseph Wu expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Gonsalves for his sincere friendship to the Republic of China. The government of the Republic of China is willing to continue to deepen cooperation with the St. Vincent government and work together for the well-being of the two peoples for mutual benefit and common prosperity.

Since President Tsai Ing-wen of the Republic of China took office on 20 May 2016, the Chinese Communist Party has continued to suppress the diplomatic space of the Republic of China. So far, a total of 10 countries have terminated diplomatic relations with Taiwan. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of China pointed out that the CCP has long been actively contacting Nauru’s political leaders and uses economic assistance to induce the country’s diplomatic redirection. After the new government of Nauru took office, the government of the Republic of China actively contacted Norway on various bilateral cooperation plans. However, Nauru continued to ask for huge amounts of economic assistance from Taiwan and compared the aid packages provided by the Republic of China and the Chinese Communist Party.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of China emphasized that based on traditional friendship, the Republic of China upholds the utmost sincerity and proposes assistance plans within its capabilities. Over the years, the government has also promoted cooperation plans in Nauru that benefit its national economy and people's livelihood and assist the overall national development. However, the Nauru side still succumbed to the CCP's inducements, disregarding the long-term assistance and friendship of the Republic of China. It entered into negotiations to establish diplomatic relations with the CCP, and even cooperated with the CCP in manipulating the so-called one-China principle, and misquoted the fallacy of United Nations General Assembly Resolution 2758. The government is deeply saddened, regretful, and strongly condemned Nauru for doing so.

After the Republic of China severed diplomatic relations with the Republic of Nauru, there are currently 12 diplomatic countries, including 2 Central American countries: Belize and Guatemala (Chinese translation: Guatemala); 4 Caribbean countries: Haiti, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines; and 3 Pacific countries: Marshall Islands, Palau, Tuvalu; and 1 South America country: Paraguay; 1 country in Africa: Eswatini; 1 country in Europe: Vatican City.

The Republican primaries for the 2024 U.S. presidential election began in Iowa. Former President Trump still received more than half of the support despite being entangled in many controversies; Trump responded that only a few minutes after the votes were opened, Having won, he felt very honored; he emphasized, "Let us take the country back" and "Make America great again."

According to US media reports, the Republican primary party took the lead in Iowa. As of 1 p.m. Taiwan time today (16th), nearly 96% of the votes have been cast. Former President Trump won 51% of the votes. Significantly ahead of other party candidates, sure to win the Iowa primary.

The main competitors, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, received 21% of the vote, and former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley received 19%.

"Fox News" interviewed Trump. Trump said that he felt "great" to receive a call telling him that he had won the election so early. Ramaswamy announces withdrawal from Republican primary race, supports Trump

Reporter : Chen Ting / Editor : Ye Ziwei / https://www.epochtimes.com/gb/24/1/16/n14159317.htm / Image : On 15 January 2024, Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy announced his withdrawal from the race. (Kevin Dietsch/Getty Images)

拉马斯瓦米宣布退出共和党初竞 支持川普
Republican presidential candidate and American technology entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy announced on Monday (15 January 2024) evening announced that he would withdraw from the 2024 presidential race due to a disappointing performance in the Iowa caucuses.

"As of this moment, we are suspending our presidential campaign," Ramaswamy told supporters in Iowa.

Ramaswamy said he will support Trump to become the next president of the United States and has called Trump to express this.

"I congratulate him on his victory and now he will have my full support and I think we will do the right thing for this country," he said.

Ramaswamy is expected to attend a Trump campaign event in New Hampshire on Tuesday.

Ramaswamy's decision to withdraw from the race is the latest evidence that, even at 77, Trump remains a core figure in the Republican Party and the overwhelming favorite to win the Republican nomination for a third consecutive time.

Shortly before Ramaswamy withdrew from the race, former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie also announced last week that he was giving up his bid for the White House.

Late last year, Senator Tim Scott and former Vice President Pence also decided to withdraw from the race.

Ramaswamy, 38, announced his candidacy in February 2023. During the campaign, he criticized his opponents but praised Trump as "the best president of the 21st century." Ramaswamy said that one of his goals in running for president is to revive the American dream and revive traditional American culture.

Although Ramaswamy enjoyed some popular support in the primaries, he was once ranked third in the polls but he failed to gain an advantage in competition with Trump, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and former United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley.

In addition to his lack of political experience, Ramaswamy's foreign policy stance on the issues of Israel and Taiwan has particularly aroused dissatisfaction among some rivals.

Ramaswamy said that if elected, he would push to include Israel with the rest of the Middle East so that no increase in aid is needed after 2028.

On the Taiwan issue, Ramaswamy once said that the United States will defend Taiwan until 2028, when the United States will achieve semiconductor independence. After that, he said, the U.S. commitment to help defend Taiwan would change to suit U.S. interests.

Although Ramaswamy later appeared to retract such claims, his remarks were met with fierce criticism.

Haley told Ramaswamy in the first Republican debate: "You have no foreign policy experience, and it shows clearly." Haley emphasized that these allies and partners are the front line of the United States against other adversaries.

"We need allies and we must protect our allies," Haley said at the time.

The Philippines will develop islands in the South China Sea to be more suitable for garrisoning troops

菲律宾将在南海开发岛屿 以更适合驻军
Romeo Brawner, Manila’s chief of military staff, told reporters on Monday (15 January 2024) that the Philippines will develop parts of the South China Sea. islands to make them more suitable for garrisoning.

The plan comes amid rising tensions between the Philippines and China, which both claim territorial claims in the South China Sea and accuse each other of aggressive actions in the strategic waterway.

The Philippines occupies nine features in the South China Sea, including coral reefs and islands. Second Thomas Shoal (locally known as Ayungin), where Philippine supply missions continue to be obstructed by the Chinese Communist Party, is one of them.

"We want to improve all nine islands, especially the ones we occupy," Brawner said. Earlier in the day, he participated in a command meeting hosted by Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. at the military headquarters.

These islands include Thitu, the largest and most strategically important island in the South China Sea, known locally as Pag-asa, about 300 miles (480 kilometers) west of Palawan Province in the Philippines.

He said the military hopes to bring a desalination machine to troops stationed aboard the BRP Sierra Madre. In 1999, the Philippines deliberately grounded the warship on Second Thomas Shoal to safeguard its sovereignty claims.

"We just want to make this a better place to live for our soldiers because their living conditions are really poor," he said.

Brauner said that as the Philippines shifts its focus from internal to territorial defense, it also plans to purchase more ships, radars and aircraft to modernize its military.

In addition to the Philippines, Brunei, Malaysia, Taiwan and Vietnam also have claims in the South China Sea. More than $3 trillion in goods pass through this strategic channel every year.

However, Beijing claims sovereignty over nearly all of the South China Sea and has ignored a 2016 ruling by the International Court of Justice that said its claims in the South China Sea have no legal basis.

Beijing and the Philippines have been locked in a tense standoff in recent months. The Philippines has accused Chinese ships of taking "dangerous actions" around disputed coral reefs in the area, even leading to ship collisions. Chinese ships also fired water cannons at Philippine ships.

Taiwan’s presidential election is settled, but we still need to be wary of the threat of CCP infiltration

Taiwan’s presidential election has settled. Analysts believe that although the DPP has won the election, Taiwan still needs to be wary of the CCP’s infiltration and threats.

Taiwan resisted interference from the Chinese Communist Party and not only elected its own president on January 13, but the democratic style displayed in the election won praise from the outside world. More than 50 countries, including the United States, Japan, France, and the United Kingdom, have congratulated Taiwan on its successful election.

Su Ziyun, director of the Institute of Defense Strategy and Resources of the Taiwan National Defense Academy: "In the CCP's systematic operations, it uses all three methods, including cognitive warfare, economic coercion, and gray zone operations. In this case , Taiwan successfully completed democratic elections, showing the world the resilience of democracy, as well as the determination and will to defend itself. I think this is a big highlight."

Chen Pokong, a political commentator based in the United States: "The election of Lai Ching-te can curb the penetration of CCP forces into Taiwan. If Taiwan continues to be strong, with the strength of its democracy and sovereignty, neighbouring countries will also feel relieved and breathe a sigh of relief. Because otherwise, if the pro-Communist and pro-China forces gain the upper hand in Taiwan, the CCP will definitely reach out to Taiwan in a big way and turn Taiwan into its dream bridgehead, which will intensify the threat to neighbouring countries and to the countries surrounding the South China Sea. It may directly increase the threat to Japan and even the United States."

Lai Ching-te and Hsiao Bi-Khim will be inaugurated as the 16th president and vice president on 20 May 2024. Their election is said to be of far-reaching significance to Taiwan and the world.

Chen Pokong: “Because the Chinese Communist Party’s own economy is collapsing, its military is also corrupt, and its high-level officials are undergoing a purge, which makes it completely unable to stop Taiwan. In addition, the Chinese Communist Party is eager to ease relations with the United States, so I think Lai Ching-te’s Winning the election will stabilize Taiwan, stabilize the Taiwan Strait, stabilize the Asia-Pacific region, and stabilize world peace."

Although the Democratic Progressive Party broke a record and came to power for the third consecutive time, the results of the congressional election were that none of the three parties received more than half. Analysts believe that it remains to be seen whether Lai Qingde will be restricted by the party's governance, but it is inevitable that the CCP will cause trouble.

Legal scholar Yuan Hongbing: "The Communist Party will definitely use these politicians in the Kuomintang, like Ma Ying-jeou, who believe in Xi Jinping, to use their activities in the Legislative Yuan to undermine Taiwanese society's will to resist the tyranny of the Chinese Communist Party and create chaos. Taiwanese society weakens the overall consensus of Taiwanese society, creates chaos, and then creates conditions for the Chinese Communist Party to annex Taiwan by force, that is, to launch a war across the Taiwan Strait. On the other hand, they will also use certain politicians in the Legislative Yuan of the Kuomintang to continue to act as an agent of the Chinese Communist Party to carry out united front activities from within and carry out united front activities against Taiwan."

After the election, the Chinese Communist Party’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council both launched attacks, claiming that Taiwan’s elections could not stop the Chinese Communist Party’s so-called “general trend of reunification.” Experts analyze that if the CCP launches a war across the Taiwan Strait, it will be seeking death.

Yuan Hongbing: "The victory of Lai Ching-te and Hsiao Bi-Khim is clearly a major victory for the international forces of freedom and democracy. When they become the leaders of Taiwan, they will definitely receive strong support from most countries in the world, especially those liberal democracies, and iternational support. Taiwan will increasingly become a focus of international political attention. So on this issue, on the issue of cross-Strait relations, Xi Jinping’s kind of civil attack and military intimidation, the kind of people who want to use violent means to solve problems. This kind of national policy will become increasingly isolated in the international community. Therefore, once Xi Jinping launches a war across the Taiwan Strait, he will be seeking his own death."

After the results of the Taiwan election came out, the United States not only issued a congratulatory statement as soon as possible, but also immediately sent a heavyweight cross-party delegation to visit Taiwan. On the 15th, they met with President Tsai Ing-wen and paid a visit to Lai Ching-te and others. Being accused means a lot.

The Qin Gang incident hit Zhongnanhai hard, and it is rumored that the CCP’s foreign minister will be replaced again

秦刚事件重创中南海 传中共外长又要换
Recently, Liu Jianchao, head of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, made a rare visit to the United States, and public opinion speculated that he might serve as the foreign minister of the CCP. Previously, former Foreign Minister Qin Gang, who was personally promoted by CCP leader Xi Jinping, was dismissed from his post just over half a year after taking office. This incident severely damaged Zhongnanhai and embarrassed Xi.

From 8 to 13 January 2024, Liu Jianchao led a delegation to visit the United States, during which he met with many American dignitaries. On the 12th, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken met with Liu Jianchao in Washington.

The International Department of the CPC Central Committee is responsible for the so-called party diplomacy. Liu Jianchao's visit to the United States in this position is quite unusual. Foreign officials predict that he may be a popular candidate to be the next foreign minister of the CCP.

Bonnie Glaser, director of the Indo-Pacific Program at the German Marshall Fund, told VOA that the most likely explanation for the visit and the reason why Blinken received him is that Liu Jianchao is likely to become the next foreign minister of the Communist Party of China.

Gray believes that he may be formally appointed at the National People's Congress meeting of the Communist Party of China in March this year. The visit provided America with an opportunity to get to know him.

Liu Jianchao, 59, is a member of the 20th Central Committee. He once served as spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Communist Party of China, ambassador to the Philippines, ambassador to Indonesia, etc., and later served in the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and Zhejiang; since 2018, he has served as deputy director and executive deputy director of the Central Foreign Affairs Office; he was transferred to the post on 2 June 2022 as the Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee.

Some Hong Kong media reported that after Qin Gang, who was promoted to Foreign Minister after the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, was dismissed, Wang Yi, Director of the Central Foreign Affairs Office, returned as a transition. Who will take over as the next Foreign Minister of the Communist Party of China has become a suspense. On this occasion, Liu Jianchao's high-profile visit to the United States undoubtedly gave the outside world more room for imagination.

Reports indicate that regardless of whether Liu Jianchao will eventually take over as the CCP’s foreign minister, it is at least certain that after the Qin Gang incident, the top management will be more cautious in selecting and hiring people for the important position of foreign minister.

Independent commentator Cai Shenkun published an article on the overseas. He wrote that Qin Gang, considered a close confidant of Xi, suddenly disappeared from public view at the end of June last year. On 25 July 2023, Qin Gang was removed from the post of Foreign Minister of the Communist Party of China, and Wang Yi took over as Foreign Minister. On 24 October 2024, Qin Gang was removed from his post as State Councilor.

Li Zhengxiu, a Taiwanese military expert and associate researcher at the National Policy Research Foundation, recently told The Epoch Times that it was originally impossible for Qin Gang to take over the position of foreign minister so quickly, but he was promoted as an exception but Xi did not expect that something would happen to Qin Gang, and it would happen in a short period of time. Wang Yi came back temporarily, which would have a great impact both internally and externally.

Associate Professor Chen Bingkui of the Department of Diplomacy at National Chengchi University told The Epoch Times that Xi should let Wang Yi preside over the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for a while. The candidate will not be decided until the internal purge of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is completed and senior officials have expressed their loyalty to Xi. Xi is afraid that another Qin Gang will appear again.

"He needs to be careful not to appoint the wrong person again, which will affect his status within the party. Qin Gang's resignation was so secretive and low-key, which shows that Xi does not want the outside world to know the details of Qin Gang's scandal. These details may be detrimental to his rule. By the same token, he must be extremely cautious when appointing a new foreign minister."

On 6 December 2023, Politico, a well-known American media outlet, cited people with access to high-level CCP officials who revealed that Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Rudenko reported to Xi Jinping in Beijing that Qin Gang and several CCP military officers had been captured by Western intelligence agencies. penetration. They secretly leaked nuclear weapons secrets to Western intelligence agencies.

In October 2023, Li Shangfu, the former Minister of Defense of the Communist Party of China, was dismissed. At the end of December, three top military industry officials and nine generals of the CCP were removed from their positions in the CPPCC and National People's Congress respectively.

China seizes Nauru and plans to annex Taiwan. Yu Da'ou: Will be spurned by the Taiwanese people

It has only been two days since Taiwan’s general election was successfully completed. The Republic of Nauru immediately announced on 15 January 2024 that it would break off diplomatic relations with Taiwan and resume diplomatic relations with China. Our Ministry of Foreign Affairs also announced that in order to safeguard national sovereignty and dignity, it would terminate diplomacy with Nauru. relations, causing an international uproar. In this regard, my representative in the United States, Yu Da'ou, said on the 17th Washington time that this means that the Beijing authorities' goal of "eradicating the Republic of China" and taking Taiwan into their own will not change. This kind of behavior will be spurned by the Taiwanese people.

On 17 January 2024 local time, Taiwan Representative in the United States Yu Da'ou held his first tea chat with Chinese media after taking office in Washington, D.C., to answer questions about Taiwan's post-election situation, U.S. policy toward Taiwan, and Taiwan's diplomatic situation.

Yu Da'ao said that after Taiwan's presidential and legislative elections ended on the 13th, he received congratulations from many American friends, expressing high recognition and praise for the maturity of Taiwan's democratic system. Taiwan's successful example of democracy has also been recognized by the international community. He will also continue to work with the U.S. administration, Congress and people from all walks of life to promote bilateral relations between the United States and Taiwan.

Amid media concerns, Nauru severed diplomatic relations with Taiwan and called Taiwan an integral part of China's territory. He responded that what the People's Republic of China has taken away is not the diplomatic relations of a certain political party, but the diplomatic relations of 23 million people of the Republic of China. Beijing has always wanted to eliminate the Republic of China and take Taiwan as its own. This goal has not changed. He said China is choosing an appropriate moment to achieve this ultimate goal, "I think the people of Taiwan can despise it."

Yu Da'ao further pointed out that the Beijing authorities' goal of coercing Taiwan will not only fail, but will instead arouse the resentment of the Taiwanese people. Beijing uses threats and coercion to change the leaders chosen by the Taiwanese people through democratic procedures. This goal won't be achieved.

The media asked that compared with the CCP’s various military harassment behaviors when former U.S. Speaker Nancy Pelosi visited Taiwan in August 2022, the Beijing authorities’ response to Lai Ching-te’s election was relatively restrained. Some experts analyzed that from the election later, during Lai Ching-te's inauguration speech, Beijing may gradually increase pressure from military, diplomatic and economic aspects. Is there any discussion on this between the United States and Taiwan?

Yu Da'ao said that peace, stability and security in the Taiwan Strait are not only of concern to Taiwan, but also to the United States and the international community. Therefore, they have a grasp of the possible situations before and after the election. This is why the United States, other industrial countries, the European Union, etc. Countries with similar philosophies have been calling and reminding China that "military or economic coercion cannot be used to change the status quo."

He emphasized that the United States attaches great importance to security and stability across the Taiwan Strait, and no party can unilaterally change the current status quo. This time the United States also conveyed this strong message to us. The U.S. policy towards Taiwan has not changed, and reiterated that this policy is based on three Communiqué, Six Assurances and Consistency with the Taiwan Relations Act.

Xi Jinping was surprised to be surrounded by two-faced people!

There are frequent rumours that Ju Gansheng, commander of the CCP’s Strategic Support Force, is under investigation. Sources from within the CCP pointed out that the source of CCP leader Xi Jinping's large-scale purge of the military was Ju Gansheng's explanation, saying that his explanation was particularly thorough.

Li Shangfu, the former Minister of Defense of the Communist Party of China, disappeared after attending the China-Africa Peace and Security Forum in Beijing on August 29 last year. On October 24 of the same year, he was removed from his posts as State Councilor, Defense Minister and member of the Central Military Commission.

On 27 December 2023, three top military industry leaders of the CCP were revoked as members of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference.

On 29 December 2023 Zhang Zhenzhong, deputy chief of staff of the Joint Staff Department of the Central Military Commission of the Communist Party of China, Zhang Yulin, former deputy director of the Equipment Development Department of the Central Military Commission, Rao Wenmin, deputy director of the Equipment Development Department of the Central Military Commission, Ju Xinchun, deputy commander of the Southern Theater Command, and former Air Force Commander Ding Laihang, Rocket Force Equipment Department Minister Lu Hong, former Rocket Force Commander Li Yuchao, Rocket Force Deputy Commander Li Chuanguang and former Rocket Force Commander Zhou Yaning were dismissed from the National People's Congress.

According to various sources, in addition to the above-mentioned generals, a large number of generals from the Chinese Communist Party’s military have been investigated or disappeared in connection with the case.

On 8 January 2024 the third plenary session of the 20th Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the Communist Party of China was held in Beijing. On that day, most senior generals from the Central Military Commission and all major branches of the military were present, but Ju Gansheng, commander of the Strategic Support Force, was still missing.

As early as the eve of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China in 2022, Shang Hong, deputy commander of the military's Strategic Support Force and commander of the Aerospace Systems Department, was disqualified from being a representative of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China. The reason is still unknown.

Ju Gansheng has disappeared from public view for nearly half a year since the end of July 2023. On 31 July 2023, he did not attend the reception marking the 96th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China. There were rumours at the time that he was under investigation.

Recently, Chinese legal scholar Yuan Hongbing said on NTDTV's "Elite Forum" program that this matter is actually no secret in Beijing official circles. He was one of the key figures to be purged because he was considered a two-faced man who was absolutely disloyal in politics.

According to people within the CCP system, Ju Gansheng is now very good at pleading guilty and has given a very thorough explanation. The source of Xi's large-scale purge of the Xi family army is Ju Gansheng's confession. It is said that he confessed all his private conversations about his dissatisfaction with Xi. This is why Xi has carried out such a large-scale purge.

Sources say that the reason why Xi made such a big move against the Xi family army was that Xi suddenly discovered that he was surrounded by two-faced people. Not only did these Xi Jiajun fail to achieve absolute loyalty to him, on the contrary, they showed absolute disloyalty to him in private.

The 61-year-old Ju Gansheng has been working in the military's electronic network system. He served as the former deputy director of the Technical Reconnaissance Department of the General Staff of the Communist Party of China. After the military reform, he served as the deputy commander of the Network System Department of the Strategic Support Force. In 2018, he was promoted to the commander of the Network System Department. In July 2021, he was promoted to commander of the strategic support force and to the rank of general.

The CCP’s strategic support force consists of the Aerospace Systems Department, Network Systems Department, Electronic and Electromagnetic Systems Department and Military Intelligence Department. After the CCP's military reform, there were five major services: the army, navy, air force, rocket force and strategic support force. The generals of each service were personally promoted by Xi, and then these people were purged on a large scale.

There is news that the CCP’s strategic support force will face the fate of being split up.

Hong Kong media reported this month that because the force is a "mixed army" and the operations of its components are not related, the headquarters of the Strategic Support Force has become a virtual structure. The reorganization of the strategic support force is imperative. Although the specific plan has not been finalized, it is likely to split the "Space Force" and the "Cyber Army", follow the example of the current joint logistics support force, and establish a military aerospace force directly under the Central Military Commission. The army and the cyber confrontation force have become deputy theater-level arms (non-service arms), and the two directly affiliated bases also have other destinations.

In addition, there is news that Zhang Youxia, vice chairman of the CCP Military Commission, may also be in trouble. Zhang is in charge of the Equipment Development Department, which also includes the Rocket Force and the Strategic Support Force. Most of the senior generals who have had problems recently are his subordinates.

Independent TV producer Li Jun analyzed in the "Pinnacle View" that although Zhang Youxia seems to be a die-hard supporter of Xi Jinping in the military. But the possibility of something happening to Zhang has become increasingly likely. What Xi is most worried about is the second generation of red people. Liu Yuan was also the hero who helped him clear out Xu Caihou and Guo Boxiong, and finally got them to the National People's Congress. Wang Qishan worked hard to help him eliminate his political opponents, but gave up after using it. Li Shangfu, the second generation red man in the army, was arrested, leaving only Zhang Youxia.

According to people within the CCP system, Xi is now constantly putting Zhang Youxia on the fire and performing some derogatory actions on him. Xi recently asked Zhang, through the General Office of the Central Military Commission, to persuade Liu Yuan and other second-generation reds to speak out publicly and deny them the consensus to oppose Xi's personal dictatorship but so far, no red second generation has come forward. Zhang Youxia is actually on this very dangerous edge now.

At the beginning of this month, Yuan Hongbing wrote an article in the Taiwanese media and revealed that the second generation Red Generation, with Liu Shaoqi's son Liu Yuan as the core, collectively reached an anti-Xi consensus, which was widely circulated overseas.

Xi may trigger World War III

The US "Business Insider" published a report on 15 January 2024, stating that Xi Jinping's ruthless purges and power struggles in the military may drag the United States into World War III.

Gordon Chang, the author of "China Is Going to War," told Business Insider that Xi Jinping is purging generals he believes are unwilling or unable to join the war.

Xi's military is effectively led by military officers who are hesitant about war and do not want to fight. Xi launched a purge to ensure that generals were ready and willing to go to war.

Since taking office in 2012, Xi Jinping has carried out comprehensive military reforms through a series of reforms such as significant reductions in personnel, improvement of military-civilian cooperation, and reshaping of structures.

His efforts culminated on 29 December 2023, when he dismissed nine senior military officers in one fell swoop, ostensibly to root out corruption.

But Gordon Chang believes that Xi Jinping is actually purging officers who are unwilling to join the war.

He gave the example of Air Force General Liu Yazhou, who had reportedly warned against invading Taiwan and was given a suspended death sentence in February 2022.

The CCP has engaged in hostilities with many neighbouring countries, including confrontation with India in the disputed Himalayas, disputes with Japan in the East China Sea, wrestling with the Philippines in the South China Sea, and competition in the Taiwan Strait.

In the past five years, China has frequently intruded on Taiwan's air defense identification zone, prompting analysts to predict that CCP China may invade Taiwan in the next few years.

Chang pointed out that Xi’s war rhetoric has been escalating.

In November 2021, Xi Jinping warned Biden that his administration was "playing with fire" and urged Biden not to support Taiwan's independence, calling it "dangerous." In November 2023, Xi told Biden at the APEC summit in San Francisco that the CCP intended to control Taiwan.

Chang said such remarks could allow Xi to "bring himself and China to the brink of war."

Chang said all the conditions for World War III are present: war in Ukraine, insurgencies in Africa, Israel's war against Hamas in Gaza, and military activity in the Red Sea, Persian Gulf and Indian Ocean.

Remember in the 1930s, there were multiple wars of independence that eventually merged into what we know as World War II. The same dynamics currently exist, and it is entirely possible that these conflicts will merge into one global conflict.

He predicted that the CCP’s aggressive actions in East Asia would involve Western countries in larger-scale conflicts.

He believes that Xi Jinping is borrowing Mao Zedong’s peasant revolutionary strategy of encircling the cities from the countryside. He believes that Xi Jinping treats Ukraine, North Africa, and Israel as rural areas, while treating the United States as a city.

“Socialism is dangerous” Argentine President Milei: We should not be afraid of parasites that rely on the state to survive

The new Argentine President Javier Milei, who has been compared to the "Argentine version of Trump", today criticized socialism at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, where global political and economic elites gathered. Posing a threay to the West, he pointed out that the rise of socialism led to poverty, and called on people not to be afraid of the "political caste system" and "parasites that rely on the state to survive."

According to Agence France-Presse, Millais, 53, is a libertarian and self-identified "anarcho-capitalist". He often wears rock star-like leather jackets, but this time he wore a suit, a tie and jacket to attend the World Economic Forum.  This is his first trip abroad as president. At the World Economic Forum, he criticized concepts such as "social justice" and "radical feminism", while praising entrepreneurs as "heroes" and promoting free market capitalism as the only feasible solution to poverty.

"I am here to tell you today that the West is in danger," Milley said, warning that the West is in danger because those who are supposed to defend Western values are co-opted by a worldview that inevitably the rise of socialism will lead to poverty; business leaders are the "heroes" and they should not be afraid of the "political caste system" and "parasites that rely on the state to survive." In addition, he also reiterated: "The country is not the solution. The country is the problem."

Xi Jinping, the leader of the Communist Party of China, who conforms to Milley's definition of "survival by the state" under the "political caste system", once humbly invited Argentina to join the "BRICS" members to share profits. However, after being elected, Milei stated that he would not join the BRICS members. and he will not do business with China. In an interview, he emphasized: "Our alliance with the United States, Israel and the West is a top priority. Secondly, I will not promote our country's relationship with totalitarianism, the Communist Party, and those who value peace and democracy. Turning a blind eye to the relationship between regimes and individual development.”

Milei clearly expressed his stance of being pro-American but not pro-China, and firmly defended the development of democracy and freedom in Argentina. He even described developing relations with the Chinese Communnist government as making a deal with an "assassin." In a previous interview, he said bluntly: "In China, people have no freedom. They can't do what they want, and when they do what they want, they will be killed. Are you willing to trade with the assassin?"

Lai Ching-te: The Republic of China is the earliest independent country in Asia

A piece of "news" circulated on the Internet: In August 2023, because it was inconvenient to interview Lai Ching-te, who was transiting through the United States, in a formal setting, a reporter from China News Service asked him privately whether he was prepared to promote Taiwan independence if he was elected? If so, when will it be announced?

What surprised this reporter from China News Service was that regarding this sensitive question, he thought he would hesitate for a long time and then give some ambiguous answers in a roundabout way. Unexpectedly, Lai Ching-te answered immediately without thinking, and would never announce Taiwan independence, let alone announced plans for Taiwan independence, because the Republic of China is the earliest independent country in Asia established in 1911. It has won two world wars, participated in drafting the United Nations Declaration, has independent sovereignty, has an army and a legitimate democratically elected government.  Why does such a sovereign and independent country with a clear legal system and a history of more than 100 years need to declare independence again?

China News Service reporters had no choice but to crawl into a hole in the ground.
