川普:哥大反以色列抗议活动背后有可疑势力
On Tuesday (30 April 2024), former US President Trump said that he saw suspicious forces behind the recent protests against Israel at Columbia University, including "hired agitators." and professional demagogues.”

In an exclusive interview with Fox News, Trump said, "I really think there are a lot of paid agitators, professional agitators here as well, and I've seen it all."

"You look at their logos, they're all the same. That means they're paid by a source," Trump said. "These are the same logos made by the same printer, which means there are People at the top paying, or there's a group that's paying, and they're doing great harm to the world, they're doing great harm to our country."

The New York Police Department (NYPD) arrested protesters who occupied Columbia University's Hamilton Building early Tuesday morning and dismantled the protest encampment.

Protests at Columbia University have lasted for nearly two weeks. The school called on students to restore order, but protesters violently occupied the university's famous building.

Columbia University spokesman Ben Chang told The Epoch Times that the university decided to leave the decision to restore order to law enforcement officers because the police have the ability to "make decisions and take appropriate measures."

The spokesperson also said the university believes the group occupying Hamilton Hall, a building off the South Lawn where the dean's office is located, "is led by individuals not affiliated with the university."

In an interview on Tuesday, Trump praised NYPD officers for their work in dispersing protesters but warned that the demonstrations were far from subdued as they continued to spread across the country.

Trump also used the opportunity to criticize President Joe Biden, accusing him of failing to stop "the anti-Semitism that is currently spreading in our country."

"Biden has to do something," he said. "Biden should be the voice of our country, and he's not doing that."

On Wednesday (1 May 2024), New York City Mayor Adams told reporters that about 300 people had been arrested, but did not specify how many were outside agitators.

Mayor Adams said, "It is true that there were students who broke into the building, but the entire event was led by individuals not affiliated with the university."

Adams also said, "Students have the right to protest, and free speech is a cornerstone of our society... However, outside forces have hijacked peaceful protests and impacted students."

Columbia University President Minouche Shafik asked police to remain on campus until at least 17 May 2024, two days after graduation.

Shafiq said the occupiers damaged university property and trespassed. The university had earlier warned that students involved in the occupation would face expulsion.

Videos posted by students show staff not registered at the Columbia University, nor staff employed by Columbia, visiting the protesters' encampment during the protests.

According to Reuters, on 1 May 2024, conflicts broke out at the UCLA protest camp. Police entered the campus to maintain order. A spokesperson for the university announced that the protest camp was illegal and violated university policies.

UCLA President Gene Brock said the protesters included people "who have nothing to do with our campus."

Separately, Tulane University in New Orleans, the University of Arizona and the City College of New York in Harlem asked police to clear overnight encampments and arrest protesters.

Trump will cut off CCP's access to the U.S. market, technology and capital

In addition, the Wall Street Journal reported, based on people familiar with the thinking of senior Chinese Communist Party officials, that Chinese Communist Party officials are preparing for Trump’s possible return to the White House and further twists and turns in Sino-U.S. relations.

If Trump wins the election this year, some people familiar with the matter believe that Trump's re-election will cause more damage to China than its potential benefits. This will largely depend on who will enter Trump's inner circle.

Trump and his trade war deputy Robert Lighthizer have publicly advocated cutting off China's access to the U.S. market and access to U.S. technology and capital.

At the beginning of last year, Trump said: "I will implement a series of bold reforms to completely eliminate dependence on China in all key areas, which is related to economic security and national security."

Currently, Russia is an important partner in the confrontation between the CCP and the West.

This year’s U.S. presidential election is bound to be a major event that attracts global attention, including the Beijing authorities.

U.S. university riot cleared, at least 300 people arrested

According to live videos provided by U.S. media, violent clashes broke out between pro-Palestinian protesters and a group of counter-demonstrators on the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) campus on Wednesday (1 May 2024), with both sides beating each other with planks of wood and rubble.

Video recorded by RMG News late Tuesday night showed some masked men throwing metal and wooden objects at the perimeter of the camp's barricades, while others used plywood and umbrellas to block the debris. Others waved tennis rackets and skateboards.

Some protesters engaged in nuisance activities, including throwing fireworks into the crowd, playing loud music and aiming laser pointers at the crowd. Brief physical clashes broke out between protesters.

The Los Angeles Police Department responded to the scene early Wednesday morning to provide assistance to the UCLA Police Department.

Media aerial footage showed police lining up on the streets of UCLA to prevent more people from entering the scene of the conflict.

After hours of chaos between anti-Israel protesters and pro-Israel counter-protesters, Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass announced that Los Angeles police had arrived at UCLA to control the situation on campus.

On 7 October 2024, Hamas militants from Gaza launched an attack on southern Israel, killing more than 1,200 people and taking more than 250 people hostage. Israel subsequently launched an attack on Hamas.

The conflict between Israel and Hamas triggered the largest student activity in the United States since the anti-racism protests in 2020. The scale and intensity of the demonstrations at prestigious universities such as the University of California, Berkeley, Columbia University, Harvard University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology are reminiscent of the anti-war demonstrations during the Vietnam War.

Meanwhile, dozens of universities across the United States are trying to contain similar protests on campus.

Late Tuesday, New York police arrested dozens of pro-Palestinian demonstrators who occupied a teaching building on the campus of Columbia University in New York and dismantled a protest encampment.

New York City Mayor Eric Adams said on Wednesday that 300 people were arrested during the clearance operation, including the City University of New York. He blamed the protests on outside agitators but offered no evidence.

Tulane University announced that students have been arrested and suspended as "illegal" anti-Israel protests continue on its New Orleans campus.

Late Tuesday night, Principal Michael Fitts sent a letter to the community saying that six students "participated in this unlawful demonstration" had been arrested, seven had been suspended, and one student's suspension had been suspended.

At the University of Arizona, police clashed with demonstrators and began making arrests as anti-Israel protests continued. State police were seen on campus carrying pepper ball guns and gas masks.

Demonstrators were initially given a deadline of 10.30pm on Tuesday to leave, but arrests were not carried out until much later.

Poll: The CCP uses TikTok to influence American public opinion

Recently, a Reuters/Ipsos poll showed that most Americans believe that the Chinese Communist Party uses TikTok to influence American public opinion, and the United States is preparing to ban this application controlled by the Chinese Communist Party.

According to Reuters, in a two-day opinion poll that ended on April 30, approximately 58% of respondents agreed with the view that the Chinese Communist Party authorities use TikTok, owned by ByteDance, to "influence American public opinion."

About 13% chose to disagree, and the remainder were unsure or did not answer the question. Among them, Republicans are more likely than Democrats to believe that the CCP is using this software to influence American public opinion.

Last week, U.S. President Biden signed a bill requiring ByteDance to divest TikTok’s business in the United States within 270 days, otherwise it will face a ban.

The survey also found that 50% of Americans support banning TikTok, while 32% oppose a ban and the remainder are unsure.

The poll was conducted online and collected responses from 1,022 U.S. adults nationwide and had a margin of error of about 3 percentage points.

The poll, which only surveyed U.S. adults, found that about 6 in 10 respondents aged 40 and older supported a ban, compared with about 4 in 10 respondents aged 18 to 39. Support the ban.

One reason for banning TikTok is that the Chinese Communist Party uses the app to monitor Americans’ daily lives. This poll found that 46% of Americans agreed with this statement.

Additionally, a majority of Americans (60%) say it is inappropriate for U.S. political candidates to use TikTok to promote their campaigns.

TikTok has been alerted by more and more countries because of its poisoning of teenagers, threats to national security, invasion of personal privacy, and relationship with the Chinese Communist Party government. Currently, nearly 20 countries and regions around the world have implemented various forms of restrictions or bans on TikTok, including the European Union, France, the United Kingdom, India, Canada, Denmark, Belgium, Australia and the United States.

The Third Plenary Session of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China will be held in July, which may involve Qin Gang, Li Shangfu and others

On 30 April 2024, the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China announced that the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee will be held in July this year. The Third Plenary Session of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China should have been held before the end of last year according to the CCP's practice but it has been delayed.

On 1 May 2024, Wang He, an expert on China issues, told The Epoch Times that the delay in the Third Plenary Session of the CPC Central Committee shows that there are huge differences within the CCP. The meeting will have two major highlights. The first is personnel management. Qin Gang, Li Shangfu and other unannounced personnel will definitely have to be handled.

Wang He said: "(The CCP) has actually already dealt with it internally, but the results of the handling by the Central Committee members, including the alternate members, must be confirmed and ratified by the Central Committee Plenary Session. It is just a formality."

Qin Gang was dismissed from his posts as Foreign Minister and State Councilor in October after he "disappeared" in June last year. In February this year, the Standing Committee of the 18th Tianjin Municipal People's Congress of the Communist Party of China stated that it accepted Qin Gang's resignation as a deputy to the National People's Congress. But so far, the official has not announced its specific situation. News of Qin Gang's death once spread on the Internet.

After the end of August last year, Li Shangfu has not been seen. Li Shangfu was also removed from his post as State Councilor. This year’s Two Sessions, Lou Qinjian, spokesman for the press conference of the National People’s Congress of the Communist Party of China, revealed to the media that Li Shangfu cannot participate in the Two Sessions and is no longer a deputy to the National People’s Congress.

However, their status as members of the Central Committee remains unresolved.

Shen Mingshi, researcher and director of the Taiwan National Defense Security Research Institute, said that the Third Plenum of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China will deal with personnel issues within the party, namely the handling of Qin Gang and Li Shangfu, or whether Dong Jun is a member of the Central Military Commission.

Dong Jun will replace Li Shangfu, who was dismissed, on December 29, 2023, and officially serve as Minister of National Defense. However, at this year's "Two Sessions" of the Chinese Communist Party, Dong Jun did not become a member of the Central Military Commission and a State Councilor as predicted by the outside world. Now his name is not included in the list of senior CCP military officials on the official website of the Ministry of National Defense.

French media reports believe that in addition to Qin Gang and Li Shangfu, the personnel arrangements of Peng Liyuan, wife of CCP leader Xi Jinping, may also be involved.

However, an article by France Broadcasting Corporation on 1 May 2024 believed that Qin Gang and Li Shangfu would be removed from the Central Committee in some way.

As for the crime, analysts believe that this crime should try to exclude the relationship between the two and Xi Jinping. This matter is not particularly important. What is important may be some important personnel hidden behind it.

Some time ago, Peng Liyuan conducted a high-profile investigation in Hunan, and the outside world paid attention to whether she would hold an important position.

Hong Kong current affairs commentator Liu Ruishuo speculated at the beginning of this year that the difficulty in delivering the Third Plenary Session of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China may be related to the Peng Liyuan factor rumored by the outside world, that is, Xi Jinping wanted Peng to join the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China. However, in Radio Free Asia's column "Night Talk in Zhongnanhai," current affairs critic Gao Xin believes that Peng Liyuan is unlikely to enter the Politburo soon, at least until the 21st Party Congress, that is, at least until 2027.

Launched the largest deportation campaign in U.S. history

Trump expressed his determination to expel illegal immigrants. He will start with "the influx of criminals," return the rights and respect that the police deserve, and if necessary, use the National Guard and even the military to respond to the "invasion of our country." of illegal immigration.

He said, "Because we have no choice. I don't think this is sustainable for a country, what happened to us, maybe 15 million people, maybe as many as 20 million people by the time Biden steps down. These people A lot of it comes from prisons, a lot of it comes from mental hospitals. I mean, you look at what's going on in Venezuela and other countries."

Trump emphasized that a potential threat is forming in the United States. "In the past three weeks, 29,000 people have come here from China. They are all of fighting age, and most of them are men."

He said he would not rule out the possibility of building immigration detention camps but that it was not necessary. "We don't need to do too many of these because we will send them out of the country, we will not keep them in the country."

Trump once again reiterated that he has great respect for the Supreme Court and will comply with court orders, saying, "I will do everything on a very legal basis."

Strengthen tariffs on imported goods from China

Trump has publicly stated that if elected, he would impose a 10% tariff on all imported goods and impose a tariff of more than 60% on Chinese imported goods.

He said he would create a protective ring of trade around the United States, "with reciprocal taxes on top of what we're talking about."

Trump said that he would also impose tariffs on derivatives other than imported goods from China. “I will let people know what the threat from China (CCP) is. China (CCP) earns 500 to 600 billion U.S. dollars every year (from the United States), No one ever mentioned it before I came along.”

During Trump’s first term, the U.S. economy was booming, and he was confident in his plan for the second term. “The people who love me most are businesses, especially the steel industry. They love me because I saved their industry, the steel company. The bosses and executives cried when they saw me. They said no one helped us before you came along. China dumped a lot of steel into our country."

Netanyahu "rightly criticized" for October Hamas attacks

Trump pointed out that there were no wars on his watch, "no terrorist attacks on my watch, we eliminated Islamic terrorism 100 percent, and now they are starting to come back."

Trump promised, "I have done more for Israel than any other president. Yes, I will protect Israel."

He mentioned the following events in the interview. On 6 December 2017, Trump announced that the United States recognized Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and ordered the U.S. Embassy in Israel to be moved from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.

On 25 March 2019, Trump signed a presidential proclamation, making the United States the first third-party country in the world to recognize Israel’s sovereignty over the Golan Heights.

In 2018, Trump announced his withdrawal from the Iran nuclear deal, strengthened economic sanctions on Iran, and tried to force Iran to sign a new agreement that could truly restrict its nuclear capabilities.

Trump said, "They (Israel) should have made a deal with Iran. They didn't, they didn't make a deal."

Trump once again mentioned Israel's last-minute decision not to participate in the U.S. operation to kill Iranian military commander Qassim Soleimani.

"Israel doesn't do that. I'm not happy about it, it's something I'll never forget and it made me see something. I would say what happened on October 7 should never have happened," he said.

In the Israel-Hamas conflict, Trump believes that "Israel does one thing very badly: Public relations."

In addition, Trump said that the realization of the "two-state solution" will be very difficult "because when children are growing up, they are indoctrinated into hating Jews to a degree that no one can imagine."

Trump: Leave everything to the states to decide on abortion

Trump reiterated his recent clearer response on abortion, saying, "Abortion should be left up to the states." He said, "You don't need a federal ban. We just left the union. Everything about Roe v. Wade has to do with abortion." It’s not about giving it back to the states, so the states negotiate a deal.”

Trump said federal restrictions on abortion "will never happen" and are "a matter of states' rights."

On whether women should have access to the abortion pill, Trump said, "I have an opinion on that but I'm not going to explain it. I don't want to say it yet but I have a very strong opinion on it. I will make a statement on that in the next 14 days." "I support helping women," he stressed.

As for limiting the number of weeks for abortion, Trump said that these are all matters decided by the states themselves, and the right to abortion has been returned to the states.

Florida will hold an abortion referendum in November this year, and Trump refused to say what he would vote for.

Trump questions whether Columbia protesters will receive the same treatment as J6 rioters

Trump once again said he would consider pardoning those charged in connection with the January 6th Capitol incident, calling them "political prisoners." More than 800 of these people have been sentenced through the judicial system, with the majority pleading guilty and some having been convicted by juries.

He said, "If someone was an evil bad guy, I would have a different opinion but a lot of people went in, a lot of people were brought in. You can see on the tape, the police led them in. They and Police walk together."

"In fact, what I did was the exact opposite of the attack. I was the one who tried to stop it. I offered 10,000 troops and Nancy Pelosi turned me down. So did the mayor of Washington, who put it in writing rejected me."

The former president defended himself, saying, "I am a very innocent man. Number one, I gave a peaceful and patriotic speech, and no one reported it. No one talked about it: peaceful and patriotic. You know, the committee never used it. They refused to use those words. Secondly, I tweeted five times that said, 'Go home.' I was disqualified."

Regarding the recent violent anti-Semitic protests on campuses that have caused public outrage in the United States, Trump said, "If the police can't stop it, I will definitely use the National Guard."

He cited the "Monument incident in Washington" as an example, "I passed a law that stipulates that if you desecrate the monument, you will be sentenced to at least 10 years in prison without any adjustment. I did not use too many means," "You know, It was very effective. I think you saw, after that everything stopped."

Trump believes there will be no political violence in November, but it depends on the situation

"I think we're going to have a great victory. I don't think there will be violence," Trump said confidently.

"I do think we're going to win. We're way ahead. I don't think they can do anything as terrible as they did last time," he said. "If we don't win, it depends. It depends on the election. Fairness, I don’t think they can do it like they did last time and we’re going to win in record fashion.”

Trump explained what he meant by his plan to "destroy the deep state," saying, "It means we're going to get rid of the bad guys, we're going to get rid of the people who are not doing a good job in government. We look at people the same way companies look at people. You know, When you buy a company, you go in and say, do you like the job? Yes, we want to weed out people who are not doing their job well."

Revealing that his team is considering a number of different new policies, he said, "There are good and bad civil service systems. There are people who are protected and there are people who shouldn't be protected. There are people who you almost want to protect because they do a good job. I I know a lot of civil servants and they are all outstanding.”

Trump, who is facing 78 charges in three criminal cases, said, "I am in a lawsuit and the judge has placed a gag order on me and not allowing me to answer many very important questions. This violates our Constitution. I will put an end to these unconstitutional practices.”

He believes that the real enemy of the United States comes from within, "I'm talking about the fascists and people in our government now, we're talking about the enemy from within. Frankly, I think in many cases, the enemy from within is the threat to our country that is far greater than external enemies like China, Russia and various other countries that are called enemies, depending on who the president is."

Anti-Israel protests and riots sweep across campuses across the United States, the CCP confuses the public

The riots ignited by Columbia University gradually spread across the U.S. Currently, similar activities have occurred in dozens of schools across the United States, and more than a thousand riot participants have been arrested across the country.

In response, the CCP took the opportunity to attack the United States and described the U.S. police’s clearance actions as so-called “repression” and an infringement of freedom of speech, triggering an uproar in public opinion and believing that the CCP was distorting the facts.

Li Hengqing, an American economist and leader of the June 4th student movement: "The school has its basic rules. For example, Columbia University has a no-overnight rule. You cannot set up a tent. It is very clear that if you want to destroy If you violate the rule of law and break regulations, you may face punishment.”

The analysis pointed out that there are fundamental differences between the demands of Chinese students for democracy and freedom and the demands of some students in the United States who support evil terrorism. There are also fundamental differences between the clearing up by the American police and the suppression by the CCP, and they cannot be compared.

Li Hengqing: "In the United States, we all know that the United States is a democratic country, and citizens' freedom of speech is completely protected. Because in China, there was no such opportunity for such expression. That is to say, whatever you want, even don't listen at all."

Wang He, an expert on China issues: "June 4th was a patriotic and democratic movement of students with bare hands. Under such circumstances, the CCP braved the disapproval of the world and openly massacred students."

Li Hengqing: “In 1989, during China’s student movement, the Communist Party sent more than 200,000 regular troops to surround Beijing, and then used machine guns and tanks to directly massacre unarmed people and students on the streets of Beijing. This is similar to The current situation (in the United States) is completely different.”

Anti-Semitic protests on U.S. campuses continue, White House, Trump speak out again

Anti-Israel protests on American university campuses are still escalating. The president of Columbia University said on Monday (April 29) that negotiations with pro-Palestinian protesters over the removal of tents on campus have failed. On the same day, the Biden-Harris administration and former President Trump also spoke out on the matter.

As Columbia University warned protesting students that they would be suspended if they did not evacuate, the White House on Monday condemned anti-Semitism but said how the school handles students is its own problem.

White House spokesman Jean-Pierre said: "It depends on the leadership of the university. We (the White House) will not comment."

Former U.S. President Trump called on Monday: "Stop the protests now!"

At the same time, CNN released the latest poll showing that Trump leads Biden by six percentage points nationally.

Trump also had a rare meeting with his former rival and Florida Governor DeSantis last Sunday (28 April 2024). "I'm very happy to have the wholehearted and enthusiastic support of DeSantis," Trump said. The topic the two discussed was "How to work closely to make America great again."

This is the first meeting between DeSantis and Trump since he dropped out of the Republican presidential primary, showing that the two will work together regardless of their past grudges.

U.S. President Joe Biden jokingly attacked Trump at last weekend's White House Correspondents' Association dinner: "I'm an adult competing against a six-year-old."

As the election approaches, both men are scrambling to get out the vote. Biden goes to Delaware on Tuesday (30 April), while Trump visits Wisconsin and Michigan on Wednesday (1 May 2024), holding two rallies in a busy court schedule this week.
