According to Skift, Indian budget airline Akasa Air recently launched a new ancillary service: visa assistance. Akasa Air has partnered with visa solutions provider Udaan India to provide personalized, comprehensive visa assistance, a feature that has been integrated into its website.

In a statement, Akasa Air said the service supports business and leisure travelers in applying for visas online for over 100 countries. Akasa Air stated, "Our dedicated team will provide customized assistance, navigating the complex visa process, ensuring accurate and timely submission of documents and efficient follow-up." Akasa Air stated that it will assist customers throughout the entire process, from registration to final approval, and that customers can track their application progress in real time.

Akasa Air is currently offering a limited-time offer of 20% off visa service fees.

Akasa Air is focusing on ancillary services: Last month, the airline announced the expansion of its ancillary services to boost revenue, making it a key strategic priority for fiscal year 2025. The company currently offers 25 ancillary products.

Its ancillary services range from basic options (seat selection, extra seats, meals, excess baggage, priority boarding, etc.) to specialized services (traveling with pets, rebooking earlier flights, vacation packages, hotel reservations, car rentals, and newly added visa assistance).

The airline claims that these services are generating additional revenue for the company and helping it diversify its revenue streams.
