Recently, a man in Henan Province released a video showing his newly purchased Huawei Mate X6 foldable phone suddenly exploding, injuring his face and three fingers. He went to a Huawei store to seek compensation, but was met with numerous excuses. The man then angrily filmed the video and it has been released.

A video online shows a man standing in front of a Huawei store, filming the video and saying, "I bought the Mate X6 Collector's Edition phone at this store on July 11, 2025. After only eight days of use, it exploded on July 19th. I received a call, but before I could answer it, the phone exploded."

"It injured three fingers on my hand and a piece of my face. I want to draw public attention and remind the public to be careful with the Huawei X6." The man showed his injured finger and the phone's purchase receipt in the video.

He said his new Huawei phone exploded after only eight days of use, and he went to the store to seek compensation, but was met with numerous excuses. "To this day, they haven't resolved my issue yet."

While the man was filming the video, a female staff member emerged from the Huawei store behind him and tried to stop him from filming, but then quickly left and ran back inside.

Huawei claims to be "far ahead" in technology, but its successive foldable phone models have been plagued by frequent malfunctions. Many users have sought help from stores but to no avail, and have subsequently posted online, warning people not to be fooled into buying Huawei phones by Huawei's supposed "patriotism" propaganda.

On 25 July, a netizen filmed a video saying, "Huawei was so far ahead, so damn far ahead. Suddenly, the wallpaper disappeared, and the big screen stopped working. I'm so disappointed to pay over 10,000 yuan for a phone. Anyone want one? Give it away for free."

In the video, the man is also holding and displaying a Huawei Mate X6 foldable phone.

Another woman in Sichuan bought the same Huawei phone, which had no scratches or damage. Just two months after purchase, it started leaking for no apparent reason.

The woman contacted a Huawei store, but the staff evaded responsibility, claiming that although the phone was within the one-year warranty, the leak was caused by human error and that the woman should pay for the repair herself, which infuriated her.

She requested a test report from Huawei staff but they were unable to produce one. The woman questioned Huawei's so-called quality inspection, calling it a lie and a deception.

Huawei, a company with Chinese military backgrounds, has been accused of espionage and illegal information collection and sanctioned by the U.S. government. However, Huawei is touted by the Chinese Communist government, and the company exploits public patriotism to promote its products.

However, the quality of Huawei phones is questionable. More and more users are reporting online that their Huawei phones have exploded, leaked, and experienced other problems. Huawei has been shirking responsibility and responding passively to user complaints, leading to a growing number of Chinese people boycotting Huawei products.

Aboluowang commentator Wang Duran stated that Chinese-made phones often come pre-installed with CCP backdoor software. Buying a Chinese-made phone effectively means you are equipping yourself with a portable surveillance system. Even if such phones are taken abroad, users still cannot freely access overseas websites. Their network traffic will be intercepted and redirected back to China, limiting access to controlled content. He urged people to stay away from Huawei and all Chinese-made phones for the sake of personal privacy and information security.
