Tsai Ing-wen is also visiting the US? The level of interaction between the United States and Taiwan is getting higher and higher

Whether President Tsai Ing-wen of the Republic of China will visit the United States before leaving office has recently become the focus of public discussion, and it also reflects the continuous warming of Taiwan-U.S. relations from another aspect.

ROC Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesman Liu Yongjian: "(Media question) It is reported that President Tsai may visit the United States? In fact, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has always arranged high-level visits, which has always been a key task. If there is a specific plan for this case, I believe that the Presidential Office and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will be in due course take the initiative to explain."

Recently, the media has reported that President Tsai Ing-wen of the Republic of China will visit the United States and deliver a speech at her alma mater, Cornell University. Taiwan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ response on Tuesday (21 February 2023) did not deny the relevant rumours, but it did not positively affirm them either.

Some DPP legislators have made it clear that Tsai Ing-wen will indeed visit the United States in the first half of this year.

From the second half of the year, Taiwan will enter an important stage of preparations for next year's presidential election. According to external analysis, if Tsai Ing-wen can visit the United States in the first half of the year and achieve a diplomatic breakthrough, it will not only help to establish her personal reputation and historical status, but may also improve the DPP's election situation.

Since the beginning of this year, especially after the Chinese spy balloon was shot down by the United States, the relationship between Taiwan and the United States seems to have warmed up significantly. Although the two sides deliberately kept a low profile, the frequent and heated interactions were enough to attract the attention of the outside world.

U.S. Representative Khanna: "Our visit is to reaffirm the common values between Taiwan and the United States, the commitment to democracy, and the commitment to freedom. We also hope to deepen the partnership between Taiwan and the United States in the military and defense fields."

On 21 February, a congressional delegation led by U.S. Congressman Khanna met with Tsai Ing-wen. The two sides talked about "military cooperation" without shyness.

Tsai Ing-wen, President of the Republic of China: "On security issues, Taiwan and the United States have also continued to strengthen military exchanges. In the future, Taiwan will also actively cooperate with the United States and its democratic partners."

Four days ago, Michael Chase, Deputy Assistant Secretary of the U.S. Department of Defense for China Affairs, paid a private visit to Taiwan, becoming the second senior US Department of Defense official to visit Taiwan in 40 years.

Earlier in the United States, it was reported that the new Speaker of the House of Representatives McCarthy will also visit Taiwan this spring.

The high-level interactions between the United States and Taiwan are frequent, constantly angering the CCP. The Eastern Theater Command of the Chinese People's Liberation Army announced on Monday (20th) that it will conduct live-fire exercises in the eastern waters and launch drills in multiple sea areas.

U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Sherman has clearly warned the CCP last week not to embark on an inevitable path of conflict because of Taiwan.

In addition, this is also the first time that Taiwan's foreign minister has stepped into AIT's Washington headquarters after the United States broke off diplomatic relations with the Republic of China in 1979. It has been interpreted by the outside world as a major breakthrough in Taiwan's diplomacy for the Republic of China.

Foreign Minister Wu Zhaoxie of the Republic of China and National Security Council Secretary Gu Lixiong went to the Washington headquarters of the American Institute in Taiwan to attend the Taiwan-U.S. Security Talks on the 21st Eastern Time. Tsai Ing-wen confirmed for the first time that the U.S. military is training the national army in Taiwan

In recent years, as the international situation has undergone tremendous changes, Sino-US relations have deteriorated, U.S.-Taiwan relations have warmed up, and tensions in the Taiwan Strait have also intensified. The CCP’s military aircraft frequently harass Taiwan, and even held live-fire military exercises around Taiwan in the waters surrounding Taiwan, launching Dongfeng series of ballistic missiles over Taiwan’s airspace.

As the CCP’s military attack on Taiwan becomes more and more obvious, the military exchanges between the United States and Taiwan are becoming more and more open in order to deter the CCP.

In an exclusive interview with CNN last October, President Tsai Ing-wen of the Republic of China confirmed for the first time that the U.S. military was in Taiwan to help train the national army.

She said Taiwan was a "beacon" of democracy that must be defended to demonstrate global trust in democratic values.

CNN reported that Tsai Ing-wen is the first president in decades to admit that the US military is still conducting training missions in Taiwan.

In fact, the United States is also obliged to help Taiwan enhance its military strength and resist invasion. The U.S. National Defense Authorization Act clearly states that both the U.S. Congress and the current president hope that the U.S. military will be prepared to assist in the training of Taiwanese soldiers.

In response to the CCP invasion, Taiwan strengthens the combat effectiveness of the military
In order to guard against the possible invasion of Taiwan by the CCP, in addition to strengthening military equipment, the national army also attaches great importance to improving the combat effectiveness of the army. Tsai Ing-wen officially announced on December 27 last year that the compulsory service period will be restored from the current 4 months to one year, and will strengthen actual combat training by referring to the military training methods of advanced countries such as the United States.

Tsai Ing-wen pointed out in a post on Facebook that the "main combat force" consisting of 180,000 volunteers currently guards the front line of national security. At the same time, it is necessary to create a standing "garrison force" mainly for compulsory service, responsible for the defense of the country and the protection of infrastructure, and support the main combat force and cooperate with civil defense.

Tsai Ing-wen pointed out that the four-month military training service cannot form an immediate combat force. The restoration of the service period to one year is to use volunteer service as the backbone and compulsory service as the main force to make the garrison "standby."

In order to improve soldiers' actual combat capabilities, Tsai Ing-wen said that future compulsory service training will refer to the training methods of advanced countries such as the United States and introduce modern training modules from various countries. Increase live ammunition shooting, joint drills, and even civil defense cooperation training.

"Whether it is training grounds, training methods, instructors, teaching materials, training equipment, or weapons and equipment, all will be strengthened and improved in quality and quantity." Tsai Ing-wen said.

War game deduction, the CCP’s invasion of Taiwan will fail miserably

On 9 January 2023, the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), an American think tank, released a war game report, simulating 24 different scenarios of the CCP’s invasion of Taiwan, and the results all showed the CCP’s disastrous defeat.

The report gives four key conditions for defeating the CCP, and the first one is "Taiwan's army must hold its ground."

The report states that Taiwan's ground forces must be able to withstand the establishment of a beachhead by the Chinese army and counterattack forcefully as the Chinese logistics force weakens. Therefore, Taiwan must enrich its troops and conduct rigorous joint weapons training. Ground forces must be at the center of Taiwan's defense.

The other three key conditions include: the United States must send troops to support Taiwan in a timely manner, because the "Ukrainian model" cannot be replicated in Taiwan; the United States must deepen diplomatic and military relations with Japan, which is the key to defending Taiwan; Quickly and intensively attack the Chinese fleet from outside the Chinese defense zone.

The report recommends that the U.S. military increase its inventory of long-range anti-ship missiles to defeat the CCP with the least loss and the fastest speed.

Wang Yi talks about Russia-Ukraine peace talks. Experts: Wolf Warrior pretends to be "Dove of Peace" with impure motives

Reporters : Han Fei and Luo Ya / https://www.ntdtv.com/gb/2023/02/22/a103654668.html

As the first anniversary of the Russia-Ukraine war is approaching, Wang Yi, the "top leader" of the CCP's diplomacy, changed his "wolf warrior" stance, claiming that the CCP has been committed to peace efforts and hopes to promote the "Russia-Ukraine war" peace talks". Experts point out that there are many calculations and tricks behind Wang Yi's move.

Wang Yi, Director of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Communist Party of China, met with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Kuleba on the 18th, saying that the CCP's position on the Russia-Ukraine war is to "persuade peace and promote talks." He also said that on 24 February, the anniversary of the Russo-Ukraine War, he would publish a "political solution to the Ukrainian crisis" and "work with all parties", so-called "strive for an early realization of peace."

However, experts believe that the Russia-Ukraine situation cannot be reversed, and Beijing's approach is more like supporting Russia's aggression against Ukraine in disguise.

Ding Shufan, honorary professor of the Institute of East Asian Studies, National Chengchi University, Taiwan: "It is impossible for Putin to negotiate peacefully now, nor can he give up this aggression. Of course Ukraine (then) hopes to defeat Russia's aggression. If peace negotiations sit down now, how can we talk about it? ?The Chinese (Communist Party) emphasizes 'peaceful negotiations' this time, but to a certain extent, it is tantamount to acquiescing to the reality that Russia can invade Ukraine."

Wang Yi also said that CCP China has always stood by the so-called peaceful side on the Ukraine issue, and called Ukraine a "strategic partner." Current affairs commentator Wang He believes that the CCP only uses Ukraine as a pawn. The Russia-Ukraine war is a prominent event in the four-corner relationship between CCP China, the United States, Europe and Russia. Beijing is now playing the Ukraine card to fight against the United States, to pull Europe, and to unite with Russia.

Current affairs commentator Wang He: "The situation between CCP China and the United States is so tense, the only one who can win over, and the one that can help him economically is the European Union. Then at this time, the European Union, do you ask me, I can fight the war between Russia and Ukraine card. Therefore, it is time to drive a wedge between the US and Europe."

Experts also said that the CCP is acting as a so-called "peacemaker" at this moment, and the war wolf is acting as a "peace dove".

Ding Shufan: "Because the biggest worry of China (the Communist Party of China) is that if it does not support Russia, then if Putin falls, China (the Communist Party of China) may be the next target. In other words, China (the Communist Party of China) will Continue to support Putin to the end."

Last weekend, U.S. Secretary of State Blinken warned the CCP that there would be "serious problems" in providing weapons to Russia, and said that evidence would be released soon to prove the CCP's consideration of military aid to Russia.

On Monday (20 February), the CCP immediately released the so-called "U.S. Hegemony Report" to accuse the United States. This move was accused of being a thief calling for a thief.

Wang He: "In fact, the CCP has long identified the United States as its biggest enemy. Now, through the current (U.S. sanctions), it has judged that the conflict between CCP China and the United States is inevitable. Then at this time, Let me bring this up first, let the United States make concessions, or you really mess with me, we will see who is the last and who retreats first. This is a contest of consciousness."
