There was news from China on 12 February 2023 that a UFO had appeared off the coast of Shandong. The official reminded fishermen that they were ready to shoot it down. On 13 February, there was silence on the Internet in China. Weibo only posted an article claiming that "a UFO has been shot down" appeared, and many netizens discussed it in private, thinking that someone must have intervened under the table.

UFOs along the coast of Shandong Province were once featured on Weibo hot searches, but within a day, all the discussions on the Internet disappeared, and there were no media reports. However, some netizens on Weibo pointed out that in the evening of 12 February 2023, the Qingdao staff of the Jimo District Ocean Development Bureau stated that the UFO had been shot down, and attached a photo, claiming to be clarifying what the UFO was but the source of the information was not provided in the article, and no official confirmation has ever been seen. Chinese Communist Party Says U.S. Balloons entered its airspace, the details disappointed netizens

Reporter : Li Zhaoxi / Editor : Lin Qing / https://www.ntdtv.com/gb/2023/02/13/a103648225.html

On Sunday (12 February), the U.S. military shot down the fourth UFO over North America. On the same day, the CCP claimed that a UFO was found near the city of Rizhao, Shandong Province, and was preparing to shoot it down. It urged nearby fishermen to pay attention to safety.

Maritime authorities in the neighboring port city of Qingdao told crews to remain vigilant, avoid danger and assist in debris recovery efforts if possible, according to text messages sent to fishing boats by Shandong province's maritime authorities.

However, officials did not specify what type of object it was, where it might have come from or how high it flew. As of the afternoon of the 13th local time, Chinese authorities and state media have not provided any updates, and it is unclear whether the object has been shot down.

After the Chinese balloon was shot down by the U.S. military, the UFO has become a trending topic on CCP China's tightly controlled social media, generating hundreds of millions of views, although details are scarce. Many users followed state media coverage of the U.S. response to the Chinese balloon.

Beijing insists the balloon was a civilian research airship that was blown off course. In stark contrast to the serious public concern over balloons in the United States, the topic of balloons has become a running joke on Chinese social media, with nationalists poking fun at the U.S. response to the "weather" balloon, with many joking that it was the "Yuanxiao" balloon.

In the evening of the 12th, Chinese social media was even more lively, with many users waiting for the object floating off the coast of China to be shot down.

"Thanks to the example of the United States, when we shoot down (target), we must report it with a high profile," said a top comment on Weibo.

As of the morning of the 13th, unidentified objects have become a hot topic on Weibo, with more than 900 million views on two related hashtags. Many have wondered, and some have been disappointed, why authorities have not released any updates on the downing of the UFO.

"After waiting all night, why is there still no exciting news?" asked one comment.

China's claims of unidentified objects come at a time when the United States and its allies are stepping up scrutiny of objects in the air in their airspace. At a regular press conference on the 13th, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin claimed that it is "very common" for U.S. balloons to illegally enter the airspace of other countries. He also said that since last year, American high-altitude balloons have illegally crossed China's airspace more than 10 times.

The Chinese Foreign Ministry did not provide any evidence when it made the above allegations, and it is unclear why China did not release the details of these messages before, nor is it clear whether China responded to these alleged intrusions when they occurred.

But Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer's comments on ABC's "This Week" program on the 12th may explain the latest actions of the CCP.

"Look, I think the Chinese are humiliated," Schumer said. "I think the Chinese got caught lying, and I think it's really a real failure for them."

Schumer noted that China's surveillance program looks "really bad." "And they're not just spying on the United States," he said. "It's a bunch of balloons. We saw one in South America, and they're probably all over the world."

While the Biden-Harris administration faced strong opposition, including from Democrats, for waiting until the first balloon flew over the United States to shoot it down, Schumer said the United States would be able to "monitor the balloon as it flew over the United States and gain a lot of intelligence information".

CCP officials want to mourn Venerable Hsing Yun. Cao Xingcheng: How can Taiwanese Buddhists be united by the CCP?

Venerable Master Hsing Yun passed away on 5 February 2023 at Fo Guang Shan. CCP China planned to send officials to mourn, but there were United Front officials and religious persecutors among them, so the application was rejected. Cao Xingcheng, the former chairman of UMC, analyzed that the CCP “hopes that the common people can be like domesticated animals, that they can eat enough and not make noise.” They are afraid that the people will pursue spiritual growth and then pursue freedom. Therefore, Buddhism not only teaches and seeks blessings, but also encourages only by seeking the Tao can they cultivate Buddhists to be manly and fearless of the CCP's verbal attacks and military threats.

Cao Xingcheng posted on Facebook at night of 13 February that the CCP wanted to send a delegation to condolences to Master Hsing Yun, but the delegation included United Front officials and religious persecutors. CCP officials dare to come to Taiwan to unite Buddhists? This question is worth pondering.”

According to Cao Xingcheng’s analysis, the main Buddhist groups in Taiwan, including Dharma Drum Mountain, Tzu Chi, Chung Tai Temple, Fo Guang Shan, etc., are all Zen Buddhist groups. It is completely recorded in the "Six Patriarchs Altar Sutra". The Altar Sutra can be said to be the "Bible" that Taiwan's major Buddhist groups should promote. However, the content preached by major Buddhist groups in Taiwan today is somewhat different from the Altar Sutra. "Humanistic Buddhism", "Humanistic Buddhism" originated from the "Buddhism of Life" advocated by "Master Taixu", who is regarded as the master of all major Buddhist groups in Taiwan.

Cao Xingcheng said that Master Taixu devoted his life to reforming Buddhism, and believed that it is not enough to have only "Buddha" and "Dharma", but also "sangha" and sound "Three Treasures" to make Buddhism develop and flourish. Therefore, Master Taixu advocated the establishment of the pure and precept-abiding Sangha builds temples for meditation and invites congregations who intend to become monks to become monks and nuns. It also advocates entering society, caring for all beings, and helping the poor.

Cao Xingcheng believes that looking at the prosperity of Buddhism in Taiwan today, it can be said that Master Taixu's wish has been fully realized in Taiwan. He feels that now it seems that it is possible to consider strengthening the "Dharma" in the "Six Patriarch Altar Sutra".

Cao Xingcheng revealed that his relationship with Buddhism began in 2000 with a public conversation with Master Shengyan of Dharma Drum Mountain at the Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall. Many books were sent to him for study.

Cao Xingcheng mentioned that after he came into contact with Buddhism, he would naturally get to know Master Taixu, and found an interesting coincidence, "Master Taixu suffered a stroke and coma in Shanghai Jade Buddha Temple on March 12, 1947, and died five days later. I was born on March 16, 1947 (February 24 in the lunar calendar). Master Taixu talked about life Buddhism, and I like to talk about science and Buddhism. When I talk about science, I don’t believe in reincarnation, and I don’t want to be far-fetched to climb up to Master Taixu  but he passed away and I lived, the timing is so coincidental, it's an interesting story."

Cao Xingcheng pointed out that this time the CCP took advantage of Master Hsing Yun’s passing away to attempt to come to Taiwan to carry out a united front against Buddhists. The Taiwanese Buddhist community should take this as a warning. Is it true that they are overly accommodating to the secular mentality of “seeking blessings” and letting believers only seek peace and prosperity and forget how to learn how to become a "husband, celestial teacher, Buddha"?

Cao Xingcheng said that the Sixth Patriarch once reprimanded his disciples, "Life and death are important matters in the world. You only seek the field of blessings all day long, and do not seek to escape from the sea of suffering. If the self-nature is lost, how can blessings be saved?" The altar sutra "Confession" also says, "Cultivating blessings does not mean cultivating the Tao, but only talking about cultivating blessings is the way. Giving and making offerings are boundless blessings and the three evil elements in the heart are created."

Cao Xingcheng emphasized that the CCP is a materialist and atheist. They hope that the common people can be like domesticated animals, that they can eat enough and not make noise. If the people pursue spiritual growth, they will then pursue freedom. This is what the CCP is extremely afraid of, so Buddhism cannot only by teaching believers to pray for blessings and encouraging them to pray for Taoism they can also cultivate the masculinity of true Buddhists and be fearless of the CCP’s verbal and military threats to Taiwan.

Flying object altitude may interfere with air traffic

Pat Ryder, press secretary of the Department of Defense, said that the unknown object did not pose a military threat but its flight altitude may interfere with air traffic, and it has recently flown close to sensitive military sites in Montana, and may be conducting surveillance activities, forcing the United States to temporarily close some airspace.
