According to the WeChat public account "Hohhot Release", on 6 January 2025, the Air Traffic Management Bureau of the Civil Aviation Administration of China issued the "Notice on the Announcement of the 2025 National Aviation Intelligence Data Change Plan".
According to the 2025 National Aviation Intelligence Data Change Plan, Hohhot Shengle International Airport is scheduled to receive transferred flights and be opened to commercial flights on 27 November 2025, and Hohhot Baita International Airport will be closed simultaneously. At that time, all airlines operating in Hohhot will transfer from Baita Airport to Shengle Airport.
