At 7.18 am on 23 May 2025, a Boeing 777 freighter of China Cargo Airlines took off from Hefei Airport, carrying 83 tons of cargo and flying directly to Liege Airport in Belgium, marking the official launch of Anhui Province's first intercontinental cargo route in 2025.
Belgium Liege Airport has a unique geographical location. It is located in the center of the European Golden Logistics Triangle and can effectively radiate economic hinterlands such as Germany, France, and the Netherlands. It is not only an important cargo hub airport in Europe, but also an e-commerce logistics center and multimodal transport hub.
The Hefei-Liege cargo route is operated by China Cargo Airlines' Boeing 777 wide-body freighter. The outbound journey takes off from Hefei at 6.50 am and arrives in Liege at 5.35 pm three times a week, and the estimated cargo volume of a single flight is about 150 tons.
This cargo route mainly serves high-value-added cargo transportation such as cross-border e-commerce, auto parts, high-end manufacturing parts, and fresh cold chain. 65% of the goods leaving the port on that day are cross-border e-commerce products.
