Michelle Hsiao was sanctioned, the ROC (Taiwan) Ministry of Foreign Affairs retorted: CCP has exposed the nature of irrationality and absurdity
Reporter : Yang Chengyu / https://news.ltn.com.tw/news/politics/breakingnews/4263514 / Image : Michelle Hsiao (or Xiao Meiqin), the Republic of China (Taiwan)'s representative to the United States. (Taken from the Facebook of the Representative Office in the United States)
President Tsai Ing-wen visited Central American allies and stopped in the United States on her way out and back. During her stopover in Los Angeles, she had a historic meeting with the Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, Kevin McCarthy, which was widely reported by media around the world. CCP expressed its dissatisfaction with this, and on 7 April announced sanctions against Taiwan's representative to the United States, Michelle Hsiao, as well as the Vision Foundation and the Alliance for Freedom and Democracy in Asia, two organizations that "promote Taiwan independence". In this regard, Taiwan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs responded solemnly, and the Chinese side exposed the irrational and absurd nature of the communist regime.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that it is the fundamental right of a sovereign state for the head of state to visit and conduct diplomatic activities, and CCP China has no right to comment. President Tsai's visit to her friendly countries Guatemala and Belize, with a stopover in the United States, is a complete success, and everyone in the country is honoured.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs pointed out that CCP used this overreaction to further suppress Republic of China (Taiwan)'s international space, and imposed so-called sanctions on relevant people and institutions. Such deceitful behavior not only deepened the resentment of the Chinese people, but also exposed the irrational and absurd nature of the communist regime.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs calls on the Beijing authorities to face up to the fact that the two sides of the Strait are not affiliated to each other (Taiwan is democratic system, CCP China is controlled by Communists, not Democrats). Coercion and suppression will not change the objective facts, but will only strengthen the Republic of China (Taiwan) government's belief in freedom and democracy, and continue to work hard for the international space that Taiwan deserves.
