The founder of Hon Hai Group, Terry Gou, sought the KMT’s nomination for the presidential election. He went to Kinmen on Saturday (12 May 2023) to issue a “Declaration of Peace” and promised to develop a relationship with CCP China on the basis of “One China, Each Model” peace talks. Former UMC chairman Robert Tsao once again wrote to "Old Gou" today (16 May), pointing out that "your ideas cannot bring peace to both sides of the strait, but will bring disaster to Taiwan."

Robert Isao issued an article pointing out that Terry blamed the so-called "provocative words and deeds" of the DPP for the responsibility of the CCP's planes and ships to circumnavigate Taiwan and create cross-strait tensions.

Tsao emphasized that everyone understands that the CCP's intention to annex Taiwan is its established "national policy." Xi Jinping said in 2022 that reunification must be completed. The life, property, and freedom of Taiwanese people, and what Taiwanese people think and say, the CCP never pays attention to.

He said that what CCP wants is the land of Taiwan. In the eyes of the CCP, Taiwanese are just tens of millions of ants that can be trampled to death. Do you think that the CCP has always been gentle and friendly to Taiwan, but only because of the DPP’s “provocation” did the CCP become “murderous”?

Tsao questioned, was there a DPP in 1949? No. But the CCP launched the Kinmen landing battle. Was there a DPP in 1958? No. However, the CCP launched the Kinmen artillery battle. These follies were all terminated by being defeated by the national army. Recently, the CCP’s planes and ships harassed Taiwan with the purpose of testing the truth of the U.S. military and intimidating the people of Taiwan. It has nothing to do with the words and deeds of the DPP.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                        He emphasized, "You don't know that the root of cross-strait problems lies in the CCP and turn your guns and blame your DPP compatriots, Please remember that the DPP is our compatriots in Taiwan, and the Communist Party is not, and we run counter to fairness and justice."Without fairness and justice, there are only atrocities and grievances left. How can Taiwan bring peace?"

In response to Terry Gou's talk about the "1992 Consensus" of "one China, all representations", he said that the two sides of the Strait used to be "peaceable and negotiable".

"Here you are wrong again!" Tsao retorted that the two sides of the strait had never had the so-called "1992 Consensus of One China (can) be expressed in each form". At the beginning of 2019, Xi Jinping set the tone of the 1992 Consensus as "one China, one country, two systems", and there is no room for "different forms" in it. Therefore, the DPP is right when it says that the 1992 Consensus does not exist. Ma Ying-jeou said that one China can express itself, which is lying and deceiving.

Tsao criticized, "You said that after you are elected president, you will start a big negotiation with the CCP, so that you may lead Taiwan to a catastrophe. In his "Illness Essays" in his final years, President Chiang once said, "(Chiang) Kai-shek told the U.S. congressmen that there is absolutely no possibility of peace talks between me and the bandits, otherwise it would be tantamount to suicide, and the meaning is exactly the same as mine."

Chiang Kai-shek once said, "The usual technique of the Communist bandits is deception, hypocrisy, and dishonesty. They use false threats, threats and temptations, buying short and selling short, clever words and tricks, and do everything they can."

For example, Robert Tsao said that when Chiang Ching-kuo was in power, he had established a three-no prohibition order of "no contact, no negotiation, and no compromise" with the CCP because Chiang knows very well that negotiating with the CCP is of no benefit.

Cao Xingcheng appealed: "Old Gou, do you have experience in fighting and negotiating with the CCP? Do you think you understand the nature of the CCP better than the two Presidents Chiang, so you won't be fooled and deceived by the CCP?"

To Terry Gou in the "Peace Declaration", "Taiwan has the ability to be world-class in technology and economy, and in peace negotiations, we can also reach the highest level, be reasonable and disciplined, and be conservative."

Tsao said bluntly: "I'm sorry, I really don't understand the logic of your statement. May I ask you, if a person cooks well, will he automatically become a first-class animal trainer? If you ask a cook to tame a lion, won’t it kill the cook?”

In response to Terry Gou's "Peace Declaration", he mentioned at the end that "I firmly call out that we want peace, not war, development and not conflict." Robert Tsao asked back, "No one would object to this sentence but I can't help but ask, who in Taiwan will want war and conflict? Obviously, it is the CCP who "never give up force", and it is also the CCP who wants to annex Taiwan through war, but some people in Taiwan always shout against the war against their own people. These are dumb people with outstretched arms and you should keep your distance away from them."

Tsai Ing-wen: Misinformation and cognitive warfare divide Democratic Camp

In addition, Chinese President Tsai Ing-wen was also invited to speak at the summit through video recording on the same day. Tsai Ing-wen said bluntly that in recent years, everyone has seen more threats from authoritarian regimes. In order to expand their influence, these regimes actively use influence operations to erode people's confidence in democratic systems and freedom, and use misinformation and cognitive warfare in overseas markets. The democratic camp is divided internally and externally, and the CCP is economically and politically using coercive methods against countries, organizations, and individuals who disagree with or question its behavior. The people of Taiwan know that democracy is the only permanent and only way, and they are responding with tenacity and courage. Taiwan's partnerships with like-minded countries are its most effective defense against China's threat.

"If we don't stop the Russian invasion in the front - your children, your families will have to face a much harder situation. To Taiwanese guys I like to say: if we don't stop them, we will be next." CCP China is more dangerous than Russia! Czech President Pavel: Engage with Taiwan with "One China, Two Systems"

[Central News Agency] Czech President Pavel attended the Copenhagen Democracy Summit where he said that CCP China's attempt to dominate the world is more dangerous than Russia in the long run. He also emphasized that the Czech Republic has close relations with Taiwan, and the principle of dealing with Taiwan is "One China, Two Systems".

In his speech today, Petr Pavel said that in the past, when people interacted with CCP China, they only saw the economic aspect, but China’s strategic interests and core Communist social values are fundamentally different from those of the West. The CCP aspires to dominate the world, so China is far more dangerous than Russia in the long run.

The retired general who was the chairman of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Military Commission believes that China has multiple advantages over the West. The first is control over society and the economy, and the second is strategic patience. It has long-term planning for the country, unlike democratic governments that have term limits due to elections.

When talking about Taiwan, Pavel first warned that Communist China has declared that it will take all means including force to reunify with Taiwan. He pointed out that most countries respect the "one-China policy", and the Czech Republic also has its own "one-China policy", positioning China and Taiwan as "one-China policy". "One China, Two Systems" and believes that Taiwan's system should be preserved, which is different from CCP China's "One China, One System".

He emphasized that the Czech Republic has close relations with Taiwan in many fields, and the two countries share common values. The Czech Republic is willing to continue to strengthen bilateral cooperation.

Pavel also warned of the damaging effects of China's threat of force on global trade, pointing to Taiwan as a source of key products and the South China Sea and Taiwan Strait as important trade sea lanes.

He believes that in the face of challenges from authoritarian governments such as Russia and China, the only way for the democratic world is to unite, and they should use a pragmatic and flexible approach to cooperate with Africa and South America or otherwise Russia and China will take advantage of them.

As soon as Pavel was elected president at the beginning of this year, he had a phone call with President Tsai Ing-wen, setting a precedent for a quasi-head of state of the European Union to have a phone call with President Tsai.

When Pavel was asked about this after his speech, he said that the Czech Republic should maintain good relations with democratic countries and should not be threatened by others. The Czech Republic is a sovereign country and chooses its own partners.

The 6th Copenhagen Democracy Summit kicked off on 16 May 2023. Pavel, Estonian Prime Minister Kaja Kallas and others were invited to give speeches. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and President Tsai also delivered speeches via video.

On 15 May 2023, President Tsai Ing-wen was invited by the Alliance of Democracies (AoD) to deliver a video speech at the 6th Copenhagen Democracy Summit (Copenhagen Democracy Summit); She pointed out that the Taiwanese people's commitment to democracy is unprecedentedly firm, and they know that democracy is the only way to last forever. When responding to the threat of CCP China with tenacity and courage, Taiwan's partnership with like-minded countries is the most effective defense measure.

Tsai Ing-wen pointed out, "Since last year's summit, we have seen more threats from authoritarian regimes. In order to expand their influence, these regimes actively use influence operations to erode our confidence in democratic institutions and freedoms, and use misinformation and cognitive warfare to divide us at home and abroad, and the Chinese Communist Party has even increased its means of coercion economically and politically against countries, organizations, and individuals who disagree with or question its actions.”

Tsai Ing-wen said that not only that, the Democratic League Foundation and Chairman Rasmussen were sanctioned by CCP China for defending human rights and supporting Taiwan. China will also be included in the sanctions list. After she passed through the United States earlier this year, more organizations and individuals were sanctioned by the CCP.

"In the face of such challenges, we must remain united, curb and prevent such provocative behavior." Tsai Ing-wen emphasized that history and common experience have constantly reminded us that complacency and cold-eyed appeasement will make authoritarians more unscrupulous. Over the past few decades, Taiwan has been standing at the forefront of the challenge to authoritarianism, our commitment to democracy is stronger than ever.

Tsai Ing-wen said that today's prosperous democracy in Taiwan is the result of firmly practicing democracy with good governance as its connotation. Taiwan's experience not only tells us about our way of life in maintaining democracy, but also expresses our courage to undertake the responsibility of maintaining regional and world peace and stability. Responsibilities range from providing humanitarian assistance to protecting the earth through green energy, from educational exchanges and practical training to assisting in the restructuring of global supply chains, Taiwan is not only of geopolitical importance, but is also regarded as an indispensable member of the international community.

Tsai Ing-wen said that the Taiwanese people's commitment to democracy is unprecedentedly firm, and they know that democracy is the only way to last forever. As Taiwan responds to the threat of Chinese Communists with tenacity and courage, our partnership with like-minded countries is the most effective defense. The American Veterans of Foreign Wars Association and our counseling association are also brothers. The two parties have actively promoted exchanges between Taiwan and the United States through various actions over the years."

Tsai Ing-wen said that over the past few years, Taiwan and the United States have continued to strengthen cooperation in various fields such as national defense, economy and trade. Since last year, the representative office in the United States has established a Veterans Affairs Group, and the counseling committee has also sent staff to Washington. We are very happy to see Borland and Gallucci have more frequent interactions with our representative office in the United States. It is hoped that through this business organization, Taiwan and the United States can exchange experience on veterans' employment counseling and health insurance, and together increase the value of veterans. Zhu Lilun persuaded Terry Gou at night to quit, Qiu Yi's analysis: a super time bomb has been planted

The KMT is expected to announce its presidential candidate this week. KMT chairman Chi Li-lun (or Zhu Lilun)  met respectively with Hon Hai Group founder Guo Taiming and New Taipei City Mayor Hou Youyi yesterday evening. Former KMT legislator Qiu Yi analyzed that if Zhu Lilun cannot persuade Terry Gou, there are two kinds of results, bluntly speaking, "Since we have today, why bother at the beginning?"

Qiu Yi stated in a PO post on Facebook that the main purpose of Zhu Lilun's meeting with Terry Gou was to persuade him to quit and explain why he was not recruited. Later, Hou You-yi reminded him what to do after the announcement of the recruitment results. This proves that the rumours that Chi Li-lun internally appointed Hou You-yi are true, and it also confirms that this is a tradition used by the top KMT officials.

Qiu Yi pointed out that if Chi had clearly informed Gou when he first expressed his willingness to run for the election, he had not yet returned to the Kuomintang smoothly, so he could not be recruited smoothly, and there would be no subsequent disturbances. There are precedents for using Gou to suppress Hou You-yi and make Hou You-yi obedient, and Taoyuan Mayor Zhang Shanzheng was conscripted to rejoin the party. So I gave Guo Taiming expectations, even encouragement, and planted a super time bomb.

Terry Gou is a layman in politics, and his staff dare not tell too much truth, let alone the yin and yang operation mode of the KMT. He really believed what Chi said, and he did the fake show for real, and he did it with all his strength. After a month, he did hand in a brilliant report card but he still ignored it, and he reminded him again and again that a fake show is a fake show, and no matter how real it is, it is also a fake show. In the end, it is destined to be nothing.

Qiu Yi continued to point out that Chi Li-lun's materials to persuade Terry Gou last night were divided into two types. One was that the Kuomintang Central Committee consulted with county mayors and legislators. It is said that 80% of them are supporters over there. The other is the so-called opinion poll of the Kuomintang. The data show that Gou has not surpassed Hou. This is similar to ordinary public opinion polls, that is, Gou has surpassed Hou Youyi, but the lead gap is very small, within the statistical error.

According to Qiu Yi's analysis, whether Chi Li-lun's two materials can convince Gou or not may lead to three results. One is that Terry Gou  rebounded and turned to cooperate with Ko Wen-je to become Gou Kehe. The second is that Gou does not rebound on the surface, but he does not become the God of Wealth of the Kuomintang. He cut off the financial injection of the Kuomintang election campaign and stayed out of the matter. The third is that Gou accepted the appeasement of the Kuomintang, and served as Hou You-yi's deputy, and Hou Guopei was released.

Qiu Yi said bluntly, "According to Guo Taiming's personality, the first type may be greater, or at least the second type. Of course, the KMT hopes for the third type, but since it is today, why bother?"

Chi Li-lun told Gou and Hou last night that Hou will be recruited. Terry Gou's proposal will be "crushed"

KMT chairman Chu Li-lun will announce the candidate for the presidency at the Central Committee of the Kuomintang Party of the Republic of China on 17 May 2023. Originally, the KMT pro-Gou and Hou factions wrestled with each other. In addition, there was a pro-Han group requesting the recruitment of former Kaohsiung mayor Han Kuo-yu, but today the situation has gradually become clear. It is rumoured that last night, KMT chairman Chi informed Terry Gou and Hou You-yi of his decision in person. The press conference scheduled to be held this morning to ask the Party Central Committee to recruit Guo, and the dinner party for the Standing Committee members in the dinner of the pro-Guo camp in the evening have also been cancelled.

The Central Standing Committee of the Kuomintang originally supported Gou and proposed  to ask the Party Central Committee to recruit Terry Gou. According to reports, basically he will not appear at the Central Committee tomorrow because after Chi Li-lun announced his call-up, does he still need a proposal?

As for the Standing Committee of the Pro-Gou faction, is there still a chance to speak procedurally? People in the party said "no", Chi Li-lun will announce the recruitment of candidates as soon as the Central Standing Committee begins.

It is pointed out that there are only two people (Chi, Hou) or three (Chi, Hou, Gou) who hold hands together in the future. People in the party emphasize that Gou, who has not been recruited, should not turn his face, because the previous Gou said that he would support the decision of the party department and unite together, and he has said it several times.

Regarding rumours that Chi Li-lun had met with Guo and Hou last night, the Kuomintang Central Committee responded today with "no news".

As for whether the KMT will be united or divided after the call-up is announced tomorrow, people in the party said that of course there is a chance for unity, and they hope that Terry Gou can show up tomorrow to show the atmosphere of unity.

Today and tomorrow, the right of way in front of the Kuomintang Central Party Headquarters has been acquired by Han Kuo-yu fan groups. This morning, a shed has been set up outside the Kuomintang Headquarters, and the police are setting up fences on the side.

The leader of the Han Kuo-yu fan group "Master Pick" who originally asked Chi Li-lun to take off the Lord of the Rings and recruited Han Kuo-yu to run for president said in an interview that since the KMT did not want to recruit Han Kuo-yu this time, Han will support whoever is finally nominated by the Party Central Committee. Of course, Han Kuo-yu fans will also respect Chi Li-lun's final decision. No matter who is recruited by Gou or Hou, they will welcome whoever is in the assembly area in front of the party headquarters. Han fans will act as cheerleaders and support the 2024 political party rotation.

Premier Chen Chien-jen went to Taoyuan in the morning to inspect the series of traffic safety activities "Taoyuan Shining Twin Cities Flying‧Chang Gung New Station". When asked about "Some polls indicate that 51% of the people do not want the DPP to take full power ", he emphasized that after President Tsai Ing-wen took office, she has been recognized by countries all over the world. He hopes that the central government and local governments, as well as the government and the people, will work together to make Taiwan warmer and the country more resilient.

Chen Chien-jen said that after President Tsai Ing-wen took office, she has done a good job in economic development, international relations, health welfare, and covid epidemic prevention, and has been recognized by countries all over the world. The government will continue to listen to the voices of all walks of life, improve its governance, and do a good job in related work such as benefiting the country and the people.

DPP chairman Lai Ching-te was criticized for wanting to launch a special project office to strengthen the cooperation between the central and local governments. Chen emphasized that in response to social development and needs, the government has carried out relevant temporary organization work, which has been done in previous governments and abroad for many years. The personnel of the established unit were transferred from various ministries and associations, and did not increase the concerns of other personnel. The annual reform office, money laundering prevention office, energy and carbon reduction office, and economic and trade negotiation office established by the Executive Yuan in the past have all been quite effective and cannot be easily denied by the outside world.

Honduras aquaculture industry misses Taiwan. Wang Dingyu: Taiwan still has our position and national dignity

Taiwan is the largest white shrimp export market of Honduras. Since Taiwan broke off diplomatic relations with Honduras in March, CCP China has not approved the import of Honduras white shrimp, causing many local aquaculture operators to worry about their own livelihood and they require the government to continue to seek trade with Taiwan. For this, DPP legislator Wang Dingyu said that we deeply sympathize with our old friends encountering fraudulent groups, but Taiwan still has our position and national dignity!

Wang Dingyu said in a Facebook PO post that the Honduras aquaculture industry hopes to maintain the economic and trade relationship with Taiwan for exporting white shrimp after the severance of diplomatic relations. What do you think? After Honduras broke off diplomatic relations with Taiwan, CCP China skipped  the vote, and the local aquaculture industry in Honduras is worrying about the consequences of this political decision.

Wang Dingyu pointed out that Javier, chairman of the Honduras Aquaculture Association (ANDAH), said that more than 1/3 of Hongguo's shrimp export revenue last year was contributed by Taiwan. He asked the government to send a letter to the Taiwan authorities. , continue to trade.

Wang Dingyu bluntly said that we in Taiwan value friendship. Before Hongguo broke diplomatic relations and turned to China, both Taiwan and the United States reminded Honduras that CCP China’s promises cannot be trusted... but Taiwan has our position and national character!

After the establishment of diplomatic relations between Hongguo and China, it was thought that China would buy a lot of white shrimp, but the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Honduras, Eduardo Enrique Reina, said that the two countries will start negotiations on a trade agreement "soon" and will eventually sign a free trade agreement. A trade agreement will allow Honduras products to enter the Chinese market; coffee will be the first product exported to the Chinese market, while white shrimp and cantaloupe are still under evaluation.

CCP China is untrustworthy, bounced tickets are full of bad records

China has a history of bouncing tickets. In recent years alone, Sao Tome and Principe, which broke off diplomatic relations with Taiwan, delayed the construction of the international airport cooperation project for three years. The Port of Colon in Panama, which China promised to invest in, has also encountered many problems. China and Burkina Faso signed a one billion dollar agreement to build highways and railways, and the projects are constantly being delayed. There is also the Solomon Islands, where the farms were robbed of their jobs by the Chinese, and the main export product, timber, was even monopolized by Chinese companies.

After the one-year "honeymoon period" between Nicaragua and China resumed diplomatic relations, Nicaragua's exports to China are still far behind those to Taiwan. Obviously, there is a big gap from the original expected goal.

According to Voice of America, Legislative President You Xikun visited the U.S. Congress on May 15. On the morning of that day, he was witnessed entering the office of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Kevin McCarthy. However, McCarthy said that he himself did not communicate with You Si-kun. The report quoted sources as saying that You Si-kun planned to meet with members of the House Select Committee on U.S.-China Strategic Competition that day.

On the 15th, Bloomberg first quoted sources as saying that You Si-kun would meet with the House of Representatives Ad Hoc Committee on U.S.-China Strategic Competition.

According to sources, members of the US-China Strategic Competition Select Committee of the House of Representatives met with You Si-ikun in the afternoon of the 15th. Topics discussed between the two sides included how the United States and Taiwan can help deepen mutual relations through economic contacts and security, and how the U.S. Congress can support Taiwan in responding to the Communist Party of China invasion, the meeting will assist members of the committee to better understand the views of Taiwan's legislators.

Voice of America has not yet been able to confirm from the US Congress and Taiwan's representative office in the US that the two sides have met.

Regarding the details of You Si-kun's visit to Washington and whether he will meet with McCarthy, Qiu Wanjie, spokesman of You Xikun, told Voice of America through social media: "This visit to the United States is an invitation to speak and visit, respect the organizer and the unit that invited , the itinerary will not be made public."

Chairman of the U.S.-China Strategic Competition Ad Hoc Committee and Republican Congressman Mike Gallagher welcomed You Si-kun's visit. Gallagher issued a statement saying: "It is an honor to host Dean You Si-kun here. It is very important to deter the Chinese Communist Party from invading Taiwan. Expert: Xi Jinping's attack on Taiwan may trigger the third world war, China set back 40 years

專家:習近平攻台恐掀第3次大戰 中國倒退40年

The CCP has continued to increase its military threat to Taiwan and released signals to attack Taiwan by force, which has aroused the attention of the international community. Some experts warn that if Xi Jinping goes to war with Taiwan, it will trigger a third world war, and Beijing's achievements in the past 40 years may be destroyed. The fate of Russia is an example.

"Financial Times" columnist Gideon Rachman (Gideon Rachman) wrote an article on May 15, expressing the above views. In his article titled "Xi Jinping's Taiwan ambitions threaten China's rise," he pointed out that Deng Xiaoping's "hide your strengths and bide your time" economic policy for the past 40 years has been abandoned after Xi Jinping came to power in 2012. He emphasized "the courage to fight."

The article believes that even if Xi Jinping does not literally mean that the country should go to war, his words and deeds imply that Beijing is ready to confront its international opponents.

Xi Jinping's three misjudgements

The author argues that Xi is wrong about the situation in China on three key levels: he misreads U.S. intentions, exaggerates the threat U.S. policy poses to the Chinese economy, and underestimates the risks of confrontation with the U.S.

The article said that CCP officials and scholars often argue in private that the United States is trying to prevent China's rise by luring China into the Taiwan war. But even if the United States sets this trap (which is by no means the truth), Xi Jinping can avoid the "trap" as long as he does not attack or blockade Taiwan.

CCP China has complained that the U.S. is trying to stifle its economy. The U.S. has denied such intentions, saying its technology export controls are aimed at China’s combat capabilities. Even if the U.S. has a broad plan to suppress China’s economic growth, such efforts may not be effective.

The Chinese Communist Party is clearly preparing to invade Taiwan

Xi Jinping, who calls himself a Marxist, should understand that global political power comes from economic power, the authors said. China does not need to win a bloody war to expand its international influence. Trade, aid and investment will get the job done without any of the attendant risks and bloodshed.

The article asks, "So what could go wrong?" The answer is obvious - war. The CCP is clearly preparing to invade Taiwan. Xi Jinping's nationalist rhetoric is creating a dangerous mixture of arrogance and bigotry.

If Xi uses force against Taiwan, Putin is an example

The author warns that if Xi Jinping pulls the trigger on Taiwan and the United States gets involved in the conflict, as President Joe Biden has promised, Xi will trigger World War III with immeasurable consequences for China and the world .

The article said that even if Taiwan quickly capitulates, or the United States stands by, China's global image will be changed forever, and all Western companies or countries that currently maintain a wait-and-see attitude toward China will join the severe sanctions regime, and the global economy will be torn apart and every party will pay a heavy price.

The article bluntly stated that, despite this, Xi Jinping may believe that the conquest of Taiwan will ensure that his leadership completes the historical positioning of the "great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation." Yet leaders with an eye for history may find that situations often evolve beyond their control, as evidenced by the devastating costs and possible defeat of Russian President Vladimir Putin's invasion of Ukraine.

Nine Chinese killed in Central African Republic before Xi Jinping met with Putin

习近平晤普京前九中国人遇害 案情成谜 北京沉默
Before Xi Jinping met with Putin in March 2023, nine Chinese citizens were killed in a gold mine in Central African Republic. It has been more than a month since the incident, and the investigation of the case is still confusing. Multiple reports said that the Russian Wagner mercenaries killed the nine Chinese but the CCP officials downplayed the matter and did not make any statement.

A gold mine operated by a Chinese company in the Central African Republic has just started construction. Unidentified masked militants attacked the gold mine on 19 March 2023. Nine Chinese workers were shot dead and two others were seriously injured.

The New York Times reported on 15 May 2023 that the Central African Republic government said it had investigated the killing and determined that it was planned by a major rebel group. The group denies the accusation and blames it on a third party operating in Central Africa - the Russian mercenary Wagner Group - which in turn blames the rebel group but neither side provided evidence.

The Central African Republic government's investigation has left a string of unsolved mysteries about the attacker's motives and methods, the report said. More than a dozen Central African Republic soldiers were supposed to protect the mine but on the day of the attack, only four soldiers were on the scene, and all of them survived, according to a diplomat with knowledge of the investigation.

The identities of the victims have not been released, and their bodies were cremated shortly after the attack. The report quoted a local mayor as saying that the workers were shot at point-blank range. A photo shared by local officials and Western officials living in the country showed the assailants laying the bodies of the dead face down in a row on rust-colored soil, as if to deliver a message.

Chinese workers face increasing threats in countries such as Nigeria, the Democratic Republic of Congo and Pakistan. The report quoted analysts as saying that the attacks exposed a growing disconnect between the Chinese Communist Party's economic ambitions and its overseas security agencies, with the CCP relying on local troops, mercenaries and private companies to protect Chinese workers overseas.

Xi Jinping has been touting a nationalist illusion of the government's ability to protect its citizens abroad, creating an unrealistic and false sense of security for Chinese companies and citizens overseas, even though the CCP regime does not necessarily have that ability.

Amar Malik, a senior fellow at the College of William and Mary who tracks Chinese development funding, told The New York Times that after every attack, CCP China is getting involved in some of the most unruly places in the world, and its involvement in violent conflicts, from some kind of In a sense, is very risky. After each attack, the Chinese public was outraged, forcing CCP to reconsider this downplaying, hands-off approach.

After the killings in the Central African Republic, some satirical comments were posted on Weibo but most comments about the attack were heavily censored, and Weibo downplayed hashtags about the deaths.

Allegations of Wagner Group's possible involvement are particularly sensitive to China, the report said, pointing to the complex situation facing Xi. To balance the United States and its Western allies, Xi has been strengthening ties with Russia despite the latter's invasion of Ukraine. The murder of a Chinese citizen in Central Africa Republic occurred the day before Xi Jinping went to Moscow to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

From 20 to 22 March 2023, Xi Jinping paid a state visit to Russia. On 20 March, Xi Jinping met with Putin and had dinner together.

The Wagner Group has been operating in the Central African Republic since 2018. This mercenary organization, which is recognized as pro-Russian, has helped the government forces of the Central African Republic control most areas and played a role in maintaining law and order locally.

Voice of America previously reported in relevant reports that after the Central African Gold Mine tragedy, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Communist Party of China only advised local Chinese citizens to pay attention to safety, and it is best to evacuate from high-risk areas immediately, but did not express any concern about the possible involvement of pro-Russian mercenaries. make any statement on the issue.

The CCP’s official media only repeated what the CCP’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said, and did not make a follow-up report on this matter, let alone the allegations against Wagner. On the contrary, the CCP's official media continued to cooperate with the government's needs and vigorously promoted the so-called friendly relations between China and Russia.

TV producer Li Jun pointed out in NTDTV's "Pinnacle View" program that through the analysis of the details of the incident, there is a high probability that Wagner's mercenaries were the murderers who killed the nine Chinese employees. He said that Wagner's mercenaries entered Central African Republic to help the government fight against the anti-government armed forces. In return, the Central African government allowed the Wagner Group to operate some businesses such as gold mines, timber, and beer. Therefore, Wagner operated many gold mines in Central African Republic.

The senior editor and chief editor of The Epoch Times, Shi Shan, stated in Pinnacle View that the Central African Republic government paid the Wagner Group the right to operate the gold mine as a price, and from about 2021 onwards, the Chinese Communist Party's media have successively reported directly it is pointed out that the Wagner Group drove the Chinese away from robbing the gold mines in Central Africa, but at that time it had not developed to the point where the Chinese were directly shot and killed.

Shi Shan said that this matter is actually very interesting to talk about, because the CCP, the former Soviet Union, and later Russia have all developed their influence in Africa, because other places may be basically controlled by traditional Western countries, so Africa has always been the place of Russia and the CCP to expand their influential power.

Guo Jun, editor-in-chief of The Epoch Times, pointed out in Pinnacle View that the CCP's involvement in Africa was relatively late, starting with economics and trade, including early assistance to the Tanzania-Zambia Railway. The proposal supports the CCP’s joining the United Nations, and now the CCP has included Africa in the “Belt and Road” plan.

Guo Jun said that it is also based on economics and trade. Last year, the trade volume between China and Africa was almost 300 billion U.S. dollars, much more than the trade volume between the United States and Europe with Africa. The annual trade volume between the United States and Europe with Africa is only three to four hundred million Dollars because Africa and China are complementary. Africa needs cheap goods from China, while the CCP needs African resources and markets. On the other hand, the CCP’s model is easier to promote in Africa. The CCP’s model is to bribe senior officials. It is easy to do in Africa but this model creates a large gap between the rich and the poor, and social conflicts will intensify.
