China's domestically produced C919 large aircraft has recently completed its first commercial passenger flight. The CCP announced that the domestically produced large aircraft has officially started operations but analysts believe that the prospect of C919 faces many challenges, and may even be unfinished.
On 28 May 2023, the C919 large passenger plane, carrying about 130 passengers, flew from Shanghai Hongqiao Airport to Beijing Capital Airport, completing its first commercial passenger flight.
The Xinhua News Agency of the Communist Party of China stated on the 29th that the first flight marked the start of a new journey of market-oriented operation and industrial development of the C919 model. Feng Dehua, deputy general manager of China Eastern Airlines, also declared that this marks the official start of domestic "large aircraft" operations. The "large aircraft" business has entered a new journey of large-scale and serial development.
In the live broadcast room of Chinanews.com, the little pinks were jubilant, thinking that this represented the prosperity of the motherland and the strength of the country.
However, the analysis pointed out that the prospect of C919 faces many challenges.
Epoch Times columnist Wang He: "Its large-scale development depends on its relationship with Europe and the United States. What is the problem now? Some of its core equipment, such as engine systems, avionics systems, and other key systems , are all imported from Europe and the United States.”
Yang Yikui, an assistant researcher at Taiwan's "National Security Research Institute", once published an analysis that more than 70% of the unit parts of the C919 depend on European and American manufacturers, and less than 20% are made in China, and this 20% is also Sino-foreign cooperative technology.
Wang He: "If Sino-US relations deteriorate further, and the United States puts it on the entity list, its serialized and large-scale development will be greatly restricted. For example, as far as the engine is concerned, it is now an engine produced by a joint company of the United States and France. If it is cut off now, it is impossible for the C919 to develop on a large scale, so its current scale depends on Sino-US relations and Sino-European relations."
On Twitter, some netizens shot a video of the C919 taxiing, questioning whether it is normal for the C919 to continue taxiing at a speed of 10 knots. Many people followed up and ridiculed, "Sliding fast, the wheels fell off", "It's a miracle to be able to take off." Some people also suggested that the leader's special plane should be replaced by a C919.
Su Ziyun, director of the Institute of Strategy and Resources of the Taiwan National Defense Security Research Institute: "The most important thing about the C919 engine is its cover. The most important thing about the engine is that the design theory is not too far behind, but the worst thing is the blades of the engine. The blades at the rear of the engine have to withstand extremely high temperatures and rotational speeds, which the CCP still cannot break through in material science.”
Su Ziyun, director of the Institute of Strategy and Resources of the Taiwan National Defense Security Research Institute, said that at present, the CCP also relies 100% on imports for high-end chips, and it will be difficult to overcome in the short term.
Su Ziyun: "In this case, its commercial aircraft C919 will also face another sanctions from the West. If it cannot obtain engine technology, it can only import the core components, and then it cannot produce it itself, so it will not be able to obtain the cost of its original investment in terms of commercial benefits. What's worse, it may be difficult to obtain the organizer's sea trial certification from mainstream countries."
Su Ziyun said that the CCP's hardware is being choked by the West, and its military equipment will gradually shrink, and it will even expand to civilian chips, and the mature process will also slowly shrink.
The C919 large passenger aircraft made its maiden flight in 2017, and obtained a certificate issued by the Civil Aviation Administration of China in September 2022. In December 2022, the first aircraft was delivered to China Eastern Airlines. In February 2023, the C919 had already been exposed to engine failure during the test flight, and it was put on hold for 100 hours to verify the flight.
However, the Chinese Communist Party media claimed that after the successful development of C919, it has attracted the attention of customers. As of the end of 2022, the C919 has received 1,035 orders.
Wang He: "The vast majority of its orders are domestic orders, which are politically manipulated and highly controlled by the state, so it is not unusual for it to take a thousand or ten thousand. But in the case of market competition, it has no core viability at all. As long as Sino-US relations, Sino-European relations deteriorate, and they carry out economic and technological decoupling, the manufacturer of C919 will definitely enter the list of being sanctioned, so its future fate can only be controlled by itself. Good luck."
Wang He said that the CCP’s strategy is to use the huge Chinese market to continuously develop the C919 domestically, and then get the European and American flight test certificates to go abroad to challenge the status of Boeing B737 and Airbus A320. Since the core technology is in the hands of American and European companies, this wishful thinking may not necessarily work well.

The covid epidemic has resurfaced in China, and the State Council of the Communist Party of China rarely organizes experts to respond to the topic of "virus variants." Zhong Nanshan, an academician of the Communist Party of China, also said a few days ago that the CCP virus (covi) mutates too fast and poses a threat to patients with underlying diseases, and epidemic prevention cannot be done once and for all.
The People’s Daily, the Communist Party’s media outlet, reported on 29 May 2023 that recently, patients infected with Omicron have reappeared in many places in China, some of whom were re-infected. The joint prevention and control mechanism of the State Council rarely organizes experts to interpret topics related to secondary infection.
Chen Cao, a researcher at the Institute of Viral Diseases of the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, said that with the continuous increase of imported mutant strains and the continuous decline of antibody levels in the Chinese population, the number of patients infected with the XBB mutant strain of Omicron may have increased recently.
The XBB series of strains are characterized by fast transmission and are more likely to break through the immune barrier of the human body and cause large-scale infections.
Wang Liping, a researcher at the Communication and Prevention Department of the China CDC, said that the epidemic has risen slightly since late April. "After comprehensive research and judgment, the epidemic caused by the XBB series mutant strains will continue for some time."

Consult doctor for symptms of chest tightness, shortness of breath
Li Tong, chief physician of the Department of Infectious Diseases at Beijing You'an Hospital Affiliated to Capital Medical University, once warned that people should rest more after contracting the epidemic and suggested home isolation. If you still have fever or even chest tightness, shortness of breath and other symptoms for more than 5 days, you should go to the hospital in time.
About half a year after the end of the "clearing" epidemic prevention policy, there has been a new wave of infection peaks in CCP China, and the number of infections has continued to increase in recent weeks.
Zhong Nanshan, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, predicted on 22 May 2023 that by the end of June, China would usher in the peak of infections, and at the peak, the number of weekly infections in the country could be as high as 65 million.

Zhong Nanshan: Deaths from Omicron infection not just due to severe pneumonia, they are caused by the virus and underlying diseases
"(Epidemic prevention) cannot be done once and for all, because it (the covid virus) becomes too fast." Zhong Nanshan said that the cause of death from Omicron infection is not simply death from severe pneumonia, but the current death is often caused by the virus. These diseases, such as heart disease, neurological disease, and kidney disease, compounded the death rate. He reminded people with underlying diseases that prevention of infection is extremely important.
Recently, large-scale infections have occurred in schools in many parts of China, and epidemic prevention measures have been upgraded.

The actual requirements for home isolation prevail even if CCP did not mention "dynamic clearing"
After three years of the epidemic, the CCP authorities have basically "laid back" and did not mention "dynamic clearing", and the CCP experts have no effective way to deal with the epidemic. Although they do not directly mention home isolation, the actual requirements are the same.
Some experts suggest that patients with "two covi-positives" should not go to work with illness, saying that this is not conducive to the recovery of patients and will increase the risk of virus transmission.

Medicines do not work while patients suffer from covid in Beijing
Mr. Zhao, a Shanghai citizen, told The Epoch Times recently that he went to Beijing to appeal at the end of April and returned to Shanghai on 28 April 2023. "Our petitioners in Shanghai found that they had covi-positivity after they came back. They had covid in Beijing and fell ill. After the epidemic, the symptoms were very serious. The sore throat was as severe as a knife. They slept in bed with fever and took ordinary medicines. None of it works."
At the end of last year, the epidemic broke out in China. It also started in Beijing and spread to the whole country.

The epidemic in China is heating up, and the number of patients with two records of covi-positivity is increasing, and mutant strains account for 90%
Reporter : Wang Yanqiao / https://www.ntdtv.com/gb/2023/05/29/a103721822.html
Recently, the second wave of the epidemic in CCP China has continued to heat up. Doctors in many places revealed that there are more and more patients with Eryang. The authorities responded by admitting that mutated strains accounted for 90% of the cases.
People in Shenzhen: "My friends, Eryang (two records of covi-positivity) is too uncomfortable. Yesterday, when I went to the small clinic, many people had Eryang infusions there, and the small clinic was full."
Recently, the epidemic situation in China has continued to heat up. Many doctors and the public said that there are more and more patients infected with covid.
Li Gang, attending physician of the Department of Respiratory Medicine, Shanghai Class A Hospital: "After my country (clearing and controlling) was released, the second wave of epidemics came, and many people became anxious again. How many waves of epidemics will we have to experience in the future? Is it going to be infected every six months?"
On 29 May 2023, the Communist Party’s media, People’s Daily, reported that the Joint Prevention and Control Mechanism of the State Council of the Communist Party of China organized experts to respond to the topic of the second infection of covid.
Chen Cao, a researcher at the Institute of Viral Diseases of the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention: "The proportion of XBB mutant strains among the imported cases has continued to be at a high level. In the collection sequence from May 15th to May 21st, the proportion has reached 95.2%, then among local cases, its XBB series variants accounted for 91.9% of the sequences collected from 15 to 21 May. The number of cases that may be infected with XBB variants may increase in the near future. "
According to Wang Liping, a researcher at the Communication and Prevention Division of the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, the epidemic has risen slightly since late April. According to comprehensive research and judgment, the epidemic caused by the XBB series mutant strains will continue for a while. Because the CCP has always concealed the epidemic situation, the real situation is unknown.
Tong Zhaohui, deputy director of Beijing Chaoyang Hospital Affiliated to Capital Medical University: "This time, according to our survey, there will be more young people who have two Yangs (two records of covi-positivity). Last winter, the symptoms were relatively severe. If you have a fever, especially if your body temperature is above 38 degrees, I suggest you go to the hospital for a look.”
Wang Guiqiang, Director of the Department of Infectious Diseases, Peking University First Hospital, said, "For high-risk groups with severe illnesses, we still emphasize early recuperation after infection to reduce the risk of disease progression."
"New York Times Chinese Network" reported on 29 May 2023, according to estimates quoted by Bloomberg News, in contrast, after the lifting of the "zero-covid" control measures in December last year, the number of people infected with covid in China was at the peak of the epidemic reaching 37 million per day.
Previously, Chinese expert Zhong Nanshan said at the Biomedicine and Health sub-forum of the 2023 Greater Bay Area Science Forum on 22 May 2023 that the forecast shows that the peak of the second wave of the covid epidemic in 2023 will occur at the end of June, with about 65 million people per week infected. Zhong Nanshan estimates that it will reach 40 million cases per week by the end of May. The actual situation is unknown.

Recently, an explosion at a police station in Langfang City, Hebei Province resulted in 11 deaths and injuries. The official report said that the explosion was caused by the police's "sampling and identification". This statement caused ridicule on the Internet. Responding to this backlash of public opinion, a senior official from the Henan Provincial Public Security Bureau exclaimed, "The snow has already fallen!" As soon as this remark came out, netizens asked again, "Why did the snow fall?"
On 27 May 2023, an official report from Dacheng County, Hebei Province stated that at around 4 pm on 26 May 2023, police from the Zangtun Police Station in Dacheng County exploded “while sampling and identifying fireworks and firecrackers suspected of being illegally traded”, killing 4 people and 5 people. 1 injured, 2 missing.
Mainland Red Star News reported that the Zangtun police station where the explosion occurred is next to the government of Zangtun town. A resident whose home is three or four hundred meters away from the police station said that when the incident happened, she was chatting with her neighbours on the street in front of her house when she heard a loud noise, followed by a puff of thick smoke.
On the second day after the incident, a large number of police officers were on duty at all intersections leading to the Zangtun Police Station and even the small roads in the town. Unrelated people were prohibited from entering and leaving.
The report mentioned that a picture obtained from a suspected police station after the explosion showed that the centre of the explosion was located in a corner of the police station. The courtyard of the police station was full of building debris after the explosion, and some vehicles were surrounded by building debris.
Regarding the CCP’s report that the explosion occurred during the police’s “sampling and identification”, it caused ridicule from netizens.
Some people said, "The police will identify firecrackers. This is the first time I heard about it." "Don't tell me, it's really possible that Curry hid arms and got out of control. Just check who brought the fireworks into the police station." "Sampling? Oh, Yes, the urban management team members always go to other people’s fruit stalls to take samples.” “How many samples did they take? Move them here! The scale of the explosion is equivalent to a suicide bombing.”
Someone else said, "How did the sampling get to the police station? It should be that all other people's goods were taken to the police station, and then they were improperly stored and exploded. Why did they take all other people's goods to the police station? Is this sampling? I hope official reports make it clear!"
Image : Web Screenshot
"Isn't it sealed on site? Why are they all moved back to the unit?" "This is not an appraisal. Does the appraisal need so many samples? It is obviously a 'tribute'." "This is the firecracker factory in the entire jurisdiction for appraisal. "It's very strange, why did the police station go for the appraisal? Does the appraisal require tons of fireworks? Ming people can tell that there is something tricky inside."
"Sampling? I believe you! You deserve it!" "I don't have sympathy, but I understand it." "Looking at the comments, you can see what the current 'people's police' is like in the hearts of the people."
In response to netizens' one-sided ridicule of the police station, Sina Weibo's big V, Sina Weibo's certified deputy director of the Political Department of the Hebei Provincial Public Security Bureau, and member of the Zhizheng Observation Group "Yonghua's Small Vegetable Garden" jumped out and said, "When the police station exploded and caused many when a policeman died, and you were sneering online, the snow had already fallen!"

An article on NetEase said that the Henan Provincial Public Security Bureau official used this sentence to comment on those netizens who mocked the police station bombing, in order to imply that their words and deeds "have endangered social order and security." They should stop such behavior and reflect on their words and deeds...
Netizens in mainland China were not polite to the words of this high-ranking official, and responded with counterattacks one after another.
A mainland netizen said, “We should give priority to why the snow collapses!” “During the avalanche, are there any innocent snowflakes?” “First ask a question, where did the snow come from? Only after the avalanche did you realize it?” “Please explain Let’s see why the snow fell, we people at the bottom don’t understand.” “Because of the Tangshan barbecue restaurant.”
Image : Internet screenshot
"The purest and lightest snowflakes were crushed, causing an avalanche. Don't you have any clues about the reason? Don't you think about yourself even a little bit?"
"Forcing others to support you (the CCP)?" "Should I send this sentence to him?" "Let others reflect? Have you reflected on yourself?" "If you don't reflect on yourself, let the masses reflect? The eyes of the masses are discerning!" "The people just want the truth!"
Amidst the doubts, some netizens who claimed to be locals broke the news on the Internet. The cause of the explosion was that a firecracker seller was dissatisfied with being fined repeatedly. Just go in and light (fire). It is said that more than ten people died, even the director was killed. However, the above news has not been confirmed by relevant reports.

Democratic Progressive Party presidential candidate Lai Ching-te attended the "2024 Campus Presidential Marathon" discussion a few days ago. When asked "Which head of state would you most like to have dinner with"? Lai replied, "Xi Jinping" in seconds, which surprised the students who asked the question.
Lai Ching-te released the video on IG. In the first question, "Please recommend a Taiwanese snack", Lai Ching-te answered "Tamshui Aji". Since KMT presidential candidate Hou You-yi pronounced "Age" as "Ah Squeeze" in public on the 26th, if Lai Ching-te seemed to be cheating on Hou You-yi, netizens laughed and said "Age + 5 points".
For the second question, "Sharing Memories from National Taiwan University", Lai Ching-te was stunned for a while, and confessed that during his college days, for living expenses, his main memories were tutoring and part-time jobs to earn money; the third question was asked "Where do you want to live in Taiwan when you retire?" "I'm applying for a 'very important job' right now, and I haven't thought about retiring," he said.
Come to the last question "Which head of state would you most like to have dinner with"? Lai Ching-te answered "Xi Jinping" without hesitation, saying that if he had the opportunity to have dinner with Xi Jinping, he would advise Xi Jinping to "take it easy and not be so stressed" and "the well-being of the people is the most important thing, and peace is good for everyone."
