Scientists in the US and Canada have resurrected the Spanish flu virus through reverse genetics. Not surprisingly, the National Institutes of Health (“NIH”) and Dr. Anthony Fauci’s National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (“NIAID”) are involved.
The scientists appear frustrated by the fact that their reverse-engineered Spanish flu virus – even at the highest doses tested – was not lethal enough to kill the macaque species selected for the experiment. They argue we need to make a more dangerous version of the Spanish flu to be able to make better vaccines for it. This is despite the fact that, until they resurrected it, it no longer existed in nature.
The argument that scientists need to create dangerous viruses “just in case” Nature comes up with something similar, so they can create vaccines for said viruses in advance, simply does not hold water. This is science gone mad, and it must be stopped.
Evidence points to SARS-CoV-2 (covi) being the product of gain-of-function research, and a number of US institutions need to come clean about their work, including EcoHealth Alliance (“EHA”), the University of North Carolina (“UNC”), the University of California at Davis (“UCD”), the NIH and the U.S. Agency for International Development (“USAID”).
All of these agencies and institutions have conducted and/or collaborated on research that may be able to solve the mystery of where covi came from but instead of transparently sharing their data, they have merely declared that they have “not been involved in any experiments that could have resulted in the emergence of SARS-CoV-2.” Blanket denials are no longer enough. They must produce the data for independent review and analysis.
Evidence points to SARS-CoV-2 being the product of gain-of-function (“GoF”) research. Indeed, attorney Tom Renz will soon release the results of a major legal investigation, which he claims will demonstrate – beyond a reasonable doubt – that SARS-CoV-2 was created as part of a GoF project.1
Whether the outbreak was accidental, intentional or the result of negligence, the end result is the same – devastation of health, commerce, finance and civil life worldwide for years on end.
Now imagine what might happen if something like the Spanish flu got out – or worse, a turbo-charged, genetically engineered version of it. Incomprehensible as it may seem to the average person, scientists in the U.S. and Canada have resurrected this devastatingly lethal virus and, not surprisingly, the NIH and Dr. Anthony Fauci’s NIAID are involved.

Mad scientists are testing recreated Spanish flu vaccine on monkeys
As reported by Renz on 19 August 2022:2
… this is so absurd that I am just starting with the reference document because I am concerned no one will believe it. Here it is: ‘Spanish Flu GoF.’3 Yes, that is right, Fauci and crew are now actively performing gain-of-function (GoF) work and infecting primates with the Spanish flu … Here is a quote from the document:
“… Influenza virus A/South Carolina/1918 (H1N1) was generated by reverse genetics and handled in biosafety level 4 (BSL-4) containment at the National Microbiology Laboratory (NML).
“Sequences of the 1918 influenza viral segments were based on data reported under GenBank accession numbers DQ208309, DQ208310, DQ208311, AF117241, AY744935, AF250356, AY130766, and AF333238.
“1918 influenza virus was cultured using Madin-Darby canine kidney … cells. MDCK cells were grown in minimum essential medium … supplemented with 5% foetal bovine serum … and 1 L-glutamine …
“A passage 2 (P2) virus stock was prepared using MEM supplemented with 0.1% bovine serum albumin (BSA) … 1 L-glutamine, and 1 mg/mL N-tosyl-L-phenylalanine chloromethyl ketone (TPCK)-treated trypsin …
“This stock was used for animal inoculation. The mouse 50% lethal dose (MLD50) for this stock was determined previously to be 103.2 PFU; this value was confirmed prior to the use of the stock for macaque infection.”
I frankly do not care to debate the nuance of whether the recreation of generally extinct virus “generated by reverse genetics” using pieces and parts of other animals qualifies as GoF; what I care about is that we have recreated the Spanish flu and are experimenting with it on other animals.

Spanish flu "not lethal enough"
As noted by Renz, the scientists appear frustrated by the fact that their reverse-engineered Spanish flu virus – even at the highest doses tested – was not lethal enough to kill the two macaque species selected for the experiment.
Macaques were therefore deemed “not ideal for the development and testing of novel pandemic influenza-specific vaccines and therapies,” necessitating “other physiologically relevant nonhuman primate models.” Renz continues:4
… given the result of the previous coronavirus GoF, can ANYONE possibly argue that GoF work on the Spanish Flu is a good idea? Even the simple recreation of the disease demonstrates an incredible lack of respect for the disaster created by the coronavirus GoF.
So, you may be asking, what moron could possibly be oblivious enough to support GoF work on the Spanish Flu while the world is still dealing with the nightmare that is Covid? The answer should not be surprising … NIH and NIAID are involved.
Apparently, Fauci does not mind what he did with funding the creation of Covid and is at it again. You might also note the vaccine development crew’s involvement. A foundational point in this article is that the newly recreated Spanish Flu is not dangerous enough. Here is a pull quote:
“However, 1918 influenza was uniformly nonlethal in these two species, demonstrating that this isolate is insufficiently pathogenic in rhesus and Mauritian cynomolgus macaques to support testing novel prophylactic influenza approaches where protection from severe disease combined with a lethal outcome is desired as a highly stringent indication of vaccine efficacy.”
This means that these people are arguing that we need to make a more dangerous version of the Spanish Flu so they can make ‘better’ vaccines for it … despite the fact that until they recreated it, it likely no longer existed in nature.
As noted by Renz, elected officials really need to answer the question, “Why is this kind of research allowed to continue on your watch?” Why are we reverse engineering the most lethal viruses the world has ever seen — after they’ve already been eradicated?
The argument that we need to create dangerous viruses “just in case” Nature comes up with something similar, so we can create vaccines for said viruses in advance, simply doesn’t hold water. Stop creating these monstrosities, and we will not need the vaccines! This is science gone mad, and it must be stopped.
Besides, what are the chances that a virus would emerge naturally that just so happens to perfectly match the virus we now have a vaccine against? The entire premise is irrational from start to finish. It is biowarfare research and nothing else.

The intentional cover-up of SARS-CoV-2's origin
Fauci, former NIH chief Dr. Francis Collins, EcoHealth Alliance president Peter Daszak and other members of the scientific community have spent the last two and a half years actively stifling debate about the genesis of SARS-CoV-2.
And, coincidentally, most of them have clear-cut connections to bat coronavirus GoF research and/or the Wuhan Institute of Virology (“WIV”), which appears to be the lab from which the virus somehow escaped.
So, it appears those who insist covi is of natural origin, despite all the evidence to the contrary, are doing so because they don’t want risky virological research to be blamed for the covid pandemic. That would “blow their cover” and raise questions about the sanity of funding such research.
Some may be so enamoured with their chosen careers; that they cannot imagine doing anything other than tinkering with pathogens. For them, pulled funding is a threat to their livelihood. But for others, the underlying incentive may be more nefarious. Like I already said, there is really no reason for this kind of research other than the creation of weapons of mass destruction.
Whatever incentive any given player may have had, what is clear is that Fauci, Collins, Daszak and many others intentionally undermined efforts to get to the bottom of where covi came from.
Attesting to this corruption of science is Jeffrey Sachs, PhD, professor of economy at Columbia University, a senior United Nations adviser and chair of The Lancet COVID-19 Commission, convened in June 2020.
Sachs originally assigned Daszak to lead and organise the Covid-19 Commission’s task force to investigate the virus’s genesis – one of 11 task forces under the Covid Commission. Sachs ended up dismissing Daszak from the task force in June 2021, after he realised just how serious Daszak’s conflicts of interest were,5 and that Daszak was lying to him.6
Eventually, he realised Daszak wa not the only rotten apple in the bunch. Other members of The Lancet Commission’s Covid Origins task force were also working against their mandate to investigate the pandemic’s origin. The final straw came when Sachs sacked Daszak and several task force members suddenly attacked him for being “anti-science.”
Shortly thereafter, a Freedom of Information Act (“FOIA”) request brought previously hidden NIH documents to light, and Sachs realised that those who were attacking him also had undisclosed ties that made their ability to get to the truth doubtful at best. At that point, in September 2021, he disbanded the whole task force.
Lack of transparency breeds mistrust
In mid-May 2022, Sachs published a frank opinion piece in the journal PNAS,7 together with Neil Harrison, calling for a truly independent inquiry into the origin of SARS-CoV-2.
In their article, Sachs and Harrison argued that while transparency on the part of Chinese authorities would be “enormously helpful,” much may be gleaned from information found in US-based research institutions that were working with Wuhan-based institutions, including the WIV. Yet such material has not been disclosed for independent analysis. Here’s an excerpt:8
This lack of an independent and transparent US-based scientific investigation has had four highly adverse consequences. First, public trust in the ability of US scientific institutions to govern the activities of US science in a responsible manner has been shaken.
Second, the investigation of the origin of SARS-CoV-2 has become politicised within the US Congress; as a result, the inception of an independent and transparent investigation has been obstructed and delayed.
Third, US researchers with deep knowledge of the possibilities of a laboratory-associated incident have not been enabled to share their expertise effectively. Fourth, the failure of NIH, one of the main funders of the US-China collaborative work, to facilitate the investigation into the origins of SARS-CoV-2 has fostered distrust regarding US biodefense research activities.
Much of the work on SARS-like CoVs performed in Wuhan was part of an active and highly collaborative US-China scientific research program funded by the US Government (NIH, Defence Threat Reduction Agency [DTRA], and US Agency for International Development [USAID]), coordinated by researchers at EcoHealth Alliance (EHA), but involving researchers at several other US institutions.
For this reason, it is important that US institutions be transparent about any knowledge of the detailed activities that were underway in Wuhan and the United States. The evidence may also suggest that research institutions in other countries were involved, and those too should be asked to submit relevant information …
Sachs and Harrison go on to name a number of US institutions that need to come clean about their work, including EHA, the University of North Carolina (“UNC”), the University of California at Davis (“UCD”), the NIH, NIAID and USAID.
All of these agencies and institutions have conducted and/or collaborated on research that may be able to solve the mystery, but instead of transparently sharing their data, they’ve merely declared that they’ve “not been involved in any experiments that could have resulted in the emergence of SARS-CoV-2.
Blanket denials are bad enough
As noted by Sachs, before such claims can be believed, their veracity needs to be confirmed, and that requires independent analysis of all the data.
“Blanket denials from the NIH are no longer good enough. Although the NIH and USAID have strenuously resisted full disclosure of the details of the EHA-WIV-UNC work program, several documents leaked to the public or released through the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) have raised concerns,” Sachs and Harrison wrote.9
These research proposals make clear that the EHA-WIV-UNC collaboration was involved in the collection of a large number of so-far undocumented SARS-like viruses and was engaged in their manipulation within biological safety level (BSL)-2 and BSL-3 laboratory facilities, raising concerns that an airborne virus might have infected a laboratory worker.
A variety of scenarios have been discussed by others, including an infection that involved a natural virus collected from the field or perhaps an engineered virus manipulated in one of the laboratories.
Suspicious ‘coincidences’ abound
Sachs and Harrison go on to discuss the problem of an unusual furin cleavage site (“FCS”) in SARS-CoV-2 that makes it more transmissible and pathogenic than related viruses.
While it’s not yet known how this feature came to be within SARS-CoV-2, whether by natural evolution or intentional insertion, “We do know that the insertion of such FCS sequences into SARS-like viruses was a specific goal of work proposed by the EHA-WIV-UNC partnership within a 2018 grant proposal (‘DEFUSE’) that was submitted to the US Defence Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA),” Sachs wrote.
That particular DARPA proposal was never funded, but as noted by Sachs, “we do not know whether some of the proposed work was subsequently carried out in 2018 or 2019, perhaps using another source of funding.”
“Information now held by the research team headed by EHA, as well as the communications of that research team with US research funding agencies, including NIH, USAID, DARPA, DTRA, and the Department of Homeland Security, could shed considerable light on the experiments undertaken by the US-funded research team and on the possible relationship, if any, between those experiments and the emergence of SARS-CoV-2,” Sachs and Harrison wrote.10
We do not assert that laboratory manipulation was involved in the emergence of SARS-CoV-2, although it is apparent that it could have been. However, we do assert that there has been no independent and transparent scientific scrutiny to date of the full scope of the US-based evidence.
In a 2 August 2022 Current Affairs interview,11 Sachs again reiterated that he believes the NIH and allied scientists colluded to impede The Lancet Commission’s investigation, for the simple reason that the virus was the result of U.S. research.
Indeed, aside from what Sachs brought up in his PNAS article, there are patents spanning decades to suggest that’s true (see ‘Patents Prove SARS-CoV-2 Is a Manufactured Virus’).
Sachs also opened up about his concerns and misgivings in a 20 August 2022 interview with Robert F. Kennedy Jr. (video). He admits believing in the zoonotic spillover theory early on, only to, over time, come to change his mind as he realised, he was being lied to, over and over again.
Today, he believes the lab-leak theory is the most likely explanation for the pandemic – and that the U.S. government, the NIH, the NIAID and the rest are suppressing the truth for the simple reason that they are responsible for its creation, even if only in part.

New Zealand returns to normal as mask and vaccine mandate is lifted
On 12 September 2022, the New Zealand government announced the lifting of most epidemic restrictions, including mask orders and mandatory vaccines. New Zealand will begin a full return to normal life.
New Zealand's Prime Minister Ardern said, "It's the 927th day of this pandemic, and today we have reached an important milestone in our journey to tackle the pandemic."
At a press conference on Monday (12 September 2022), New Zealand Prime Minister Ardern announced that the number of infections in New Zealand is currently at the lowest level since February 2022, and that from midnight on Monday, most of the epidemic prevention restrictions will be lifted. New Zealand will return to normal life for the first time since the outbreak began.
People will no longer need to wear masks in supermarkets, public transport and other places, and foreign tourists to New Zealand will no longer need to be vaccinated but two restrictions remain in place: Those who test positive for the virus are still required to quarantine for seven days; and masks are still required when visiting hospitals and nursing homes.
In addition, the government has also lifted the mandatory vaccination order for companies, and employers can decide whether to require employees to be vaccinated.

Cultural Revolution reappears, Chengdu aunts form a group to take to the streets with sticks to "prevent the epidemic"
The CCP's "dynamic clearing" has been accused of the second Cultural Revolution. A few days ago, an elderly women's organization "Bangbanger Corps" in Chengdu maintained the closure and control, just like the "Red Guards" of the year. Netizens criticized the CCP for continuing to "provocate the masses to fight against the masses."
A video posted on the Internet a few days ago shows that a group of aunts from the Longjing Community Street Office in Chengdu, Sichuan formed a "Bangbanger Corps" to patrol the streets day and night. Wearing red armbands on their left arms and holding a wooden stick on their right, they violently expelled citizens who did not comply with the authorities' epidemic prevention regulations. There are also a small number of young men and women in the Legion.
The Cultural Revolution is back!
The Chengdu Sub-district Office in Sichuan organized a group of aunts to set up a "Bangbanger Corps" to violently drive away people who did not abide by the official ban, just like the "Red Guards" back then. pic.twitter.com/KMhFAh7fyA
— View of the World (@yunyunfengfeng) 12 September, 2022
The "Legion" also took a group photo in front of the "Party and Mass Service Station" in a community in Longjing Community, indicating that the organization was likely to be established under official instigation.
The video was posted on the Internet, and Sichuan netizens ridiculed as if they "returned to more than 50 years ago overnight". During the "lawless" Cultural Revolution, the "Red Guards" brutally persecuted "counter-revolutionaries" under the banner of "revolution" and did whatever they wanted.
Some netizens also left a message on Twitter saying, "Aunts used to be Red Guards, Red soldiers, and they have found their old feelings again." Others said that the old trick of the CCP was repeated, "give some people power, let the masses fight against the masses", " Mutual harm is what the Communist Party needs much.”
The CCP's "dynamic clearing" has sparked public resentment, and people have criticized the official online. However, some people, under the instigation of the CCP, abused and even violently attacked the people who did not cooperate, with the intention of repeating the cultural revolution.
An online video showed that a suspected covi-positive person escaped in a certain place in Foshan, Guangdong. The CCP officially launched a large number of villagers, armed with sticks and other weapons to carry out a "big search", and finally "caught" him in the field.
There is also a lot of news on the Internet that some people who are unwilling to cooperate with the lockdown and do nucleic acid testing have been besieged by their neighbours online, or even besieged by community residents. When the police arrested someone, some onlookers applauded.

Tens of thousands of people in Shenzhen's Futian Village protest against gate punching, and officials are forced to lift the blockade
Shenzhen Futian Village was originally scheduled to be unblocked at 12 am on the 10th but residents did not wait for the unblocking, and tens of thousands of people rushed to protest in anger. The authorities promised to lift the lockdown at 12 am on the 12th. The latest video on the Internet shows that some areas have been unblocked.
The online video shows that in the middle of the night on the 11th, a large number of residents of Futian Village began to gather downstairs, waiting for the arrival of 12 am on the 12th to see whether the official fulfilled the promise of unblocking. Officials dispatched a large number of police officers to the scene.
The follow-up video shows that a large number of suspected residents rushed out of the bayonet, cheering and celebrating, and the military team next to them did not act; the epidemic prevention personnel at the bayonet released.

— View of the World (@yunyunfengfeng) 12 September 2022
The videos show that at least parts of Futian Village have been lifted. It is unknown whether the two sides clashed again before the unblocking that night, and whether the Futian District was unblocked as a whole.
Previous online videos showed that a large-scale conflict broke out in Futian Village in the early morning of the 10th, and residents rushed to the gate to protest.
Image provided by respondents/The Epoch Times
The Epoch Times interviewed and reported that the official announcement that the lockdown would be lifted at 0:00 on the 10th, but the promise was not fulfilled. In Futian Village, 20,000 to 30,000 people gathered late at night. The protest started around 0:00 and continued until after 1:00. Finally, the secretary of the district party committee came to the scene and promised to lift the lockdown at 0:00 on the 12th and do two more rounds of nucleic acid tests before the villagers dispersed on their own.
The online video showed that a large number of villagers gathered that night, shouting "unblock", and some villagers rushed to the checkpoint. Officials initially took a tough stance and sent personnel to suppress it, and the two sides clashed for a while.
However, the online video and the villagers' request for help to unblock were quickly deleted and blocked in China.
The villagers told The Epoch Times that one or two hundred special police officers, militiamen in camouflage uniforms, community defense teams, and finally the armed police were present that night.
Villagers said that since the beginning of the year, Futian Village has been blocked many times, causing public grievances to boil over. The villagers suspected that the "epidemic" here was deliberately "created".
Villagers revealed that there were 20,000 to 30,000 people in Futian Village, and they were all blocked at any time. The villagers were unable to go to work and their livelihoods were cut off. The rent in the village was expensive.

Dynamic clearing in chaos: The nucleic acid report of the death of an elderly in Shanghai continues to be updated
The CCP's "dynamic clearing" has turned into a Cultural Revolution-style farce, with frequent absurd incidents. The nucleic acid test report of a deceased elderly man in Shanghai is still regularly updated. Some people suspect that nucleic acid companies are fraudulent, and some people suspect that the official "manipulation" of the epidemic.
On 12 September 2022, some netizens exposed a nucleic acid test record from Shanghai, showing that a citizen named "**zhen" was in TCM in Yangpu District, Shanghai on 31 August, 3 and 7 September 2022 respectively. Nucleic acid samples were taken by the hospital, and the test results were negative on the same day.
Netizens who broke the news said that the owner of this test record is an elderly man from Shanghai who died on 3 August 2022. Recently, his family was surprised to find that the nucleic acid report of the elderly person in the relative code is still being updated continuously, and a report is basically issued every three or four days.
Netizens joked that this was a "nucleic acid report from heaven" and questioned the CCP's official media where the nucleic acid test was sampled.
During this year's Mid-Autumn Festival, netizens reposted a painting of Chang'e testing nucleic acid in the Moon Palace to ridicule the proliferation of nucleic acid testing in the CCP. Some netizens ridiculed that it might not be surprising if the deceased old man made nucleic acid in heaven.
Not long ago, Dongxing, a border city in Guangxi, also circulated that some residents received positive nucleic acid reports from deceased family members, and people who had left Dongxing for many days also received positive reports from Dongxing authorities. Locals suspect that someone is deliberately "creating an epidemic" in order to continue to make money for epidemic prevention.
Since the CCP launched large-scale nucleic acid testing, scandals about "false positives" and "false reports" have continued. Some analysts believe that the manpower and material resources of China's existing nucleic acid testing companies cannot support nucleic acid testing of such a scale, so they can only make a lot of fakes. Others believe that it may be that local officials colluded with testing companies to "create an epidemic" in order to make money.
There are also commentators who speculate that the CCP’s regime is unstable, and it may be strengthening social control under the guise of “epidemic prevention”.
Earlier there was news that some local public security departments were "exempted from inspection". A few days ago, another video showed that in some places, the internal nucleic acid test of the public security department only queued up to scan the code, and did not take samples. In the video, a group of people lined up with mobile phones in hand. Many of them were wearing uniforms. A woman next to the line was sitting at a table, tearing open the packaging of the sampling cotton swabs one by one, and then directly inserting the cotton swabs into the sampling bottle.

Florida Governor DeSantis slams corporatism, elitism, calls for Republicans to be tough on big companies

On 11 September 2022, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis delivered a speech at the National Conservatism Conference in Miami, saying that the Republican Party People are too soft on big business, and if cracking down on big business means advancing conservative ideals and defending American values, then Republicans should not shy away.
DeSantis has taken a series of actions, including pushing back against so-called progressive policies in the workplace, such as signing the Stop WOKE Act, which is aimed at cracking down on Florida schools and businesses "instilling a wake-up call."
The Republican governor also accused Disney of profiting from China while ignoring Beijing's longstanding human rights abuses.
He also disbanded Walt Disney World's autonomous status in central Florida after the company made a critical statement about the Parental Rights in Education Bill, which DeSantis backed. The Act prohibits teachers from instructing children (students) under third grade about sexual orientation and gender identity.
DeSantis gave an hour-long speech Sunday at the National Conservatives Conference at the Turnberry Resort in Miami. He said his experience opposing progressivism in schools and in business provides a lesson for conservatives on how to challenge big business.
"Some big corporations are exercising quasi-public power right now," DeSantis said. "Corporatism is not the same as free enterprise, and I think too many Republicans think limited government basically means that what's best for American business is The way we want the economy to develop.”
"What I've done is use government to provide space for individual citizens to be able to participate in society, to be able to speak their minds." He added: "I think it's definitely an appropriate use of government power."
While DeSantis sees free enterprise as "the best economic system," he stressed that it should be seen as a means to an end.
"It's a means of having a good and fulfilling life and making a society prosperous. It's not an end in itself," DeSantis said.
DeSantis has targeted elitism more broadly in the context of COVID-19 prevention policies, such as their proposed lockdowns.
"We rejected the elite tactics, and we were right," DeSantis said.
"They were wrong not only about (closing) schools, they were wrong about lockdowns. They were wrong about the epidemiological model and the hospitalization model. They were wrong about forced isolation, and they were wrong about denying natural immunity. Wrong. They were wrong about the efficacy (assessment) of the mRNA vaccine, and they were wrong about whether COVID was seasonal — I said that and now they admit it.”
"The media and the elites say what to do, but that doesn't mean it's the right thing," DeSantis said, while vowing to continue fighting for conservative values and opposing progressive policies.

Pennsylvania mother sues school, requesting obscene books to be removed from the school library
A Pennsylvania mother is suing her son's school district over the presence of pornographic books in the school library.
Fenicia Redman discovered 10 months ago that her son, who was in high school in the Grand Canyon School District, had obscene books in the school library. She petitioned the school to remove them but was denied. So she filed a federal lawsuit, along with a motion for an emergency injunction, to require all U.S. public schools to remove pornographic publications but the ban was rejected by a judge a few days ago.
Pennsylvania mother Phoenixia Redman said, "I remind you that your children are exposed to content that no innocent child should ever see!"
Wayne Dunlop, Pennsylvania: "It's pornography. You know in this state you have to be 18 to buy Playboy? But a 14-year-old can take this come out."
Phenixia Redman asked, "What kind of universe do we live in? We can see this and say it's okay to put it in front of minors?"
Obscene books like these are available in schools across the country, Redman said.
Redman believes the books violate the federal obscenity laws, and many in the community support her.
Alfe Goodwin, retired police officer: "She was given to parents by God to remind parents, loved ones and families why we must be constantly involved in our children's lives."
Bruce Chambers, former chairman of the Grand Canyon Board of Trustees, said, "She's still fighting this battle, and she's going to keep it going. It's very admirable."
Redman is raising money through the network's sponsorship of a GoFundMe to hire a lawyer to continue the appeal.

The Russian army collapsed. Is the meeting between Xi and Pu at the SCO summit the highlight?
Reporter : Luo Tingting / Editor : Zhu Xinrui / https://www.ntdtv.com/gb/2022/09/13/a103526538.html /
Image : The picture shows Xi Jinping and Putin on the same stage when attending the St. Petersburg Economic Forum on 7 June 2019. (Olga Maltseva/AFP/Getty Images) When Russia was defeated on the battlefield in Ukraine, General Secretary Xi Jinping of the Communist Party of China decided to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Summit. It is expected that his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin will be the highlight.
On 12 September 2022, local time, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky posted a video on Facebook saying, “6,000 square kilometers of territory in eastern and southern Ukraine have been liberated, and we are moving further.”
Reuters reported that it was Moscow's worst defeat since the Russian army was forced to withdraw from the Ukrainian capital Kyiv in March 2022.
"Ukraine has turned the tide of the war, but the current counteroffensive will not end the war," noted the U.S.-based Washington Institute for War Research.
At the same time, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Communist Party of China announced on 12 September that from 14 to 16 September, Xi Jinping will attend the 22nd meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization to be held in Samarkand, and will be invited to Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan for state visits.
This is Xi Jinping's first trip abroad since the outbreak of the CCP virus three years ago. Some commentators believe that Xi's trip is to strengthen economic and trade cooperation with the SCO member states to counteract the US sanctions, and Russia is the most important strategic partner of the CCP at the moment.
The SCO consists of CCP China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, India and Pakistan, with Iran expected to join. It is expected that the meeting between Xi Jinping and Putin at the SCO summit will be the highlight, and the CCP needs to use Russia as a trumpcard to deal with Western society.
Ma Dawei, a scholar at Guizhou University, told Radio Free Asia that the meeting between the heads of state of China and Russia is one of the main items of Xi Jinping's visit, in order to understand the real situation in Russia.
Ma Dawei said, "They cannot lose the Russian camp, and now they lose everything. The last time Xi Jinping met with Putin at the Beijing Winter Olympics. The situation at that time was very different from now."
Yokogawa, a commentator on current affairs in the United States, analyzed in Yokogawa Observation that the Russian army had collapsed in Ukraine, and the war situation had changed drastically, and Russia was even more urgent for this meeting. For Putin, today's "general meeting" is more urgently needed than the Winter Olympics meeting but Xi Jinping is not in a hurry to meet Putin at this time, at least he does not want to be too public. The CCP official has not yet confirmed whether the two will meet, which fully shows the embarrassment of Xi Jinping's situation.
Yokogawa believes, "Putin is sanctioned, and the war is unfavorable. The 'Public Xi meeting' will not give Xi Jinping extra points, not at home or abroad. Foreign countries are condemning the CCP for not participating in criticizing and sanctioning Russia. Some people in China are eyeing and waiting for Xi to make mistakes. The big front is stable and the first, and it is best that there is no major movement at home and abroad."
Vladimir Portyakov, deputy director of the Institute of Far Eastern Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, told the South China Morning Post that Xi's trip underscores the importance Beijing attaches to the SCO, especially against the backdrop of rising tensions with the West.
Portyakov said that in the face of Western pressure, China and Russia have supported each other, mainly politically and partly economically. "However, China is really afraid of secondary sanctions from the West, which could complicate China's already difficult economic situation. In Russia, this is already clear."
Mark N. Katz, a professor of government and political science at George Mason University and an expert on Russia, believes that “Putin desperately needs more aid from China,” but Xi may not be as supportive as Putin would like.
However, U.S. officials disclosed on 7 September that Russia was purchasing “millions of rockets and artillery shells” from North Korea for the Ukrainian battlefield. Overseas sources said that these weapons sold to Russia actually came from mainland China but they were labeled as North Korea.
The Epoch Times columnist Zhou Xiaohui said that the CCP strongly supports Russia, and through these so-called business practices, it may usher in more severe sanctions against the CCP from the United States and Europe.

Expert: Xi Jinping is hard to ride a tiger, meeting Putin is hard to hide the embarrassment
The situation of the Russia-Ukraine war has undergone major changes recently. Russia has been defeated in Ukraine one after another. The Ukrainian side claimed to have recovered more than 3,000 square km of lost land. At this time, the CCP officially confirmed that Xi Jinping will visit on 14 September, and the Russian side said that Xi Jinping will meet with Putin at that time. According to expert analysis, Xi Jinping's meeting with Putin could not hide his embarrassment.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Communist Party of China announced on the afternoon of the 12th that Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China, will attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit (SCO Summit) from the 14th to the 16th, and will visit Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. This is Xi Jinping's first trip abroad since the outbreak of the CCP virus (COVID-19).
A few days ago, Andrei Denisov, the Russian ambassador to China, has publicly stated that Xi Jinping and Putin will use the opportunity to attend the SCO summit to hold a summit between the two sides. This is also the second face-to-face meeting between Xi Jinping and Putin after their meeting in Beijing on February 4 this year.
Experts have analyzed that Xi Jinping may face many embarrassments when he goes to meet Putin at this moment. Because Russia invaded Ukraine aggressively after the last meeting between the two sides in Beijing, the Beijing authorities and Russia may have thought at the time that Ukraine would be defeated soon, but their idea was completely lost.
Now, the Ukrainian war has reached 200 days. The Ukrainian army has begun a large-scale counter-offensive, including the capture of Izium, an important strategic hub town in eastern Ukraine, and cutting off the supply line of the Russian army. The commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces announced on the 11th that it has been recovered this month. More than 3,000 square kilometers of land have been lost, and it is only 50 kilometers from the Russian border.
The meeting between Xi Jinping and Putin has drawn more attention as the war in Russia has suffered a major rout. Experts believe that Xi Jinping's meeting with Putin this time will be in a dilemma. Facing Putin's demands, Xi Jinping will have a hard time choosing.
Political commentator Jiang Feng recently told NTDTV that Xi Jinping's meeting with Putin at this time may be embarrassing, "Putin will definitely tell him, don't we have a covenant? I went to Beijing to watch your skiing at the Winter Olympics, and you promised us Once you enter a special period, the war period, you will develop the Sino-Russian alliance to what extent. The entire foreign ministry system at that time said that there is no upper limit to the relationship with Russia. Well now Come on, don't put the upper limit, can you give me a middle limit?"
Jiang Feng said that if Xi Jinping is close to Russia, he will not be able to explain it internationally, and he will not be able to explain it in the United States. And the top Chinese Communist Party may face sanctions from Western countries for this.
"You have supported Russia, and the West will not let you go. Which Politburo Standing Committee member does not have his own savings or property in the West? So what are they afraid of? This incident has made them not human inside and out, so it is very embarrassing."
Hal Brands, a professor of political science at Johns Hopkins University in the United States and an expert on China, tweeted on the 10th that if Russia's battlefield situation in Ukraine is bad, it will make it difficult for China to ride a tiger. If Beijing aids Russia, it will be sanctioned by the West.
On the other hand, believes that if Russia is in a disadvantageous position, Putin will seek to gain more support from Beijing, and if Beijing fails to meet Putin's demands, it may cause major tensions in the Sino-Russian "partnership". In any case, the changes taking place in Ukraine are very bad for Beijing.

Biden signs executive order on Monday to promote biotech development to ensure leadership

According to White House officials, President Biden will issue an executive order on Monday (September 12) aimed at promoting domestic biotechnology in the United States Industrial development to reduce reliance on Chinese materials. The industry covers everything from pharmaceutical manufacturing, to plastics, to innovative fuels.
Administration officials said on a background conference call on Sunday that the executive order was partly a reaction to competition from China. One of the officials said the United States needs to prevent the loss of its dominance in biotechnology manufacturing, just as it gave China an opportunity in semiconductor chip manufacturing.
"The U.S. does have the best biotech innovators in the world, but we risk falling behind," the official said. "Other countries, especially China, are actively investing in this area, giving the U.S. leadership and competitiveness brings risks.”
The official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said that unless the government helps ensure growth in the industry through targeted investments, including training programmes for skilled workers.
Biden is expected to discuss the executive order during a trip to Boston on Monday. The White House on Sunday did not disclose the amount of funding for the new program, saying it would be announced later this week. Biden is scheduled to meet with representatives of the industry at the summit on Wednesday.
The U.S. federal government has provided funding sources for biotechnology research and development (R&D) through the National Institutes of Health, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and other agencies. Overall U.S. funding for R&D as a percentage of gross domestic product has declined since its peak in the 1950s, a trend Biden has promised to reverse.
The biotech initiative was incorporated into the broader CHIP Act. The bill includes $52 billion to subsidize U.S. semiconductor chip manufacturing, which Biden signed into law in August. The United States, which has the world's most advanced industry technology, lags far behind China in terms of chip manufacturing output, and the domestic industry in the United States is struggling due to insufficient supply of chips. For example, the U.S. auto industry is suffering from a shortage of car sales due to a lack of computer chips.
According to The Washington Post, experts who closely follow China's biotech manufacturing goals say coordinated government support is needed to avoid a similar situation in advanced medical and biotech manufacturing. The move is not just to boost drug research and development, the National Institutes of Health and the Department of Defense have already given substantial subsidies.
Efforts will also be made on agricultural feed supplies and biomass fuels, White House officials said.

Biden's trip to Boston: Biotech, airport investments, cancer-fighting 'moon shots'
The Center for a New American Security (CNAS) think tank warned in a July report that it is dangerous to fall behind China in biotechnology.
The CNAS report said that China already dominates the global production of generic active pharmaceutical ingredients, while Western countries continue to lead in biotechnology. But the US needs to "focus on improving access to the equipment at the heart of the biological revolution: computing and data sources for genomics, and hard infrastructure for DNA synthesis and fermentation".
Biden's trip to Boston highlights a $62 million investment in Logan Airport through a bipartisan infrastructure law introduced last year, The Hill reported. The money will be used to modernize the airport's international terminal and improve the runway to keep planes flying.
Biden also spoke in Boston about efforts to fight cancer, an issue of particular interest to him personally.
Biden's eldest son, former Delaware Attorney General Beau Biden, died of brain cancer in 2015 at the age of 46. Biden has championed a "Cancer moonshot" plan since serving as vice president in Barack Obama's administration.
Biden spoke on Monday at the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum. The timing of the event coincides with the date of Kennedy's 1962 speech that put humans on the moon.
60 years ago today, President John F. Kennedy delivered the "We Choose to Go to the Moon" speech at Rice University, aiming to persuade the American people to support the Apollo program to put humans on the moon.

Europe rarely sends fighter jets to the Indo-Pacific to send a message to the CCP

France, Germany and the United Kingdom have actively dispatched naval warships to the Indo-Pacific region to patrol the South China Sea or the Taiwan Strait. Now, these European countries are sending air power to the Indo-Pacific. Japanese experts said the move was an exercise for emergencies in the South China Sea or Taiwan.
"Nikkei Asian Review" reported on 12 September 2022 that after dispatching warships, European countries project air power into the Indo-Pacific, reflecting a sense of urgency in Europe that they can reach the Indo-Pacific in a short period of time - that is, within a few days.
Recently, after the U.S. House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi led a delegation to visit Taiwan, several groups of U.S. and European congressmen visited Taiwan, which made the CCP furious. It also frequently dispatched military planes to cross the centre line of the strait set by the United States, raising tensions in the Taiwan Strait.
The CCP has built artificial islands and deployed military facilities in the South China Sea for a long time, and often harassed the maritime activities of claimants in the South China Sea, causing dissatisfaction from many countries.
The U.S. military has always insisted on conducting free patrol operations in the South China Sea and Taiwan Strait under international law. The CCP is also very dissatisfied with this.
In 2021, French and British warships crossed the Taiwan Strait, while German warships crossed the South China Sea.
In August of this year, France and Germany both sent fighter jets to the Indo-Pacific to participate in military exercises, which attracted attention.

French Major General: Project air power to protect national and allied territories
During a recent military exercise near New Caledonia, a fictional "Badland" showed signs of invading its neighbor, "Goodland." Seeing that the territory of the "Goodland" was in danger, France decided to deploy air assets to the area, in an exercise tasked with reaching the site of the emergency within 72 hours.
On 13 August 2022, three Dassault Rafale fighter jets, two Airbus A330 multirole tankers (MRTT) and two A400M Atlas transport aircraft arrived in the South Pacific from France within the specified time. The fleet made brief refueling stops in Sulur, India, and Darwin, Australia.
After arriving at the area where the incident occurred during the exercise, the French authorities observed the situation from the real-time on-site information sent by the MRTT aircraft and directly ordered the Rafale pilots to destroy the enemy's logistics base.
The exercise is part of the five-week "Mission Pegase 2022" exercise currently underway by the French Air Force and Space Force. "The purpose is to demonstrate that we can project air power to protect our territory or protect the territory of our allies," Major General Stephane Groen, chief of staff of the French Air Force and Space Force Air Combat Command and commander of the exercise, told the Nikkei Asia".
"The fact that we are trying to do this kind of airpower projection in the Pacific" is a concrete example of France's determination to ensure that the sovereignty of countries in the region is protected, Grohn said.
“We are an Indo-Pacific country. If you count our citizens in the Pacific and Southwest Asia, we have a population of over 2 million and our exclusive economic zone is about 9 million square kilometers,” he said.
The "Pegasus 2022 Mission" exercise, which began on 10 August 2022 entered its third and final phase on Sunday. This phase will see the French fleet and a detachment of 170 personnel travel from Darwin to Indonesia and Singapore before returning home.
The French Air Force said in a press release that the exercise was the longest-range projection the French Air Force has ever conducted, at 18,000 kilometers from the national territory.

Germany sends fleet to Indo-Pacific within 24 hours
The Pegasus 2022 exercise overlapped with a similar exercise by the Luftwaffe called Rapid Pacific 2022, in which Germany dispatched six Eurofighters and seven support aircraft to Singapore in mid-August within 24 hours.
During the German exercise, six fighter jets, four A400M multirole aircraft and three A330 multirole tanker transport aircraft took off from Newburgh Air Force Base for Singapore. The goal is to arrive within 24 hours. The German fleet did exactly that to show that the Luftwaffe could reach the heart of the Indo-Pacific in one day.
Why did the Bundeswehr (German Armed Forces) deploy aircraft to the Indo-Pacific for the first time after WWII? A spokesman for the German Defense Ministry told the Nikkei newspaper on 16 August 2022, "We want to demonstrate our support for multilateralism and a rules-based international order together with our security partners."
The Nikkei reported that this is another political message to the CCP after Germany deploys frigates to East Asia in 2021.

Russia-Ukraine war and Indo-Pacific conflict, Europe and the United States support each other
In an interview with the Nikkei, Michael Muller, a heavyweight of the German Social Democratic Party (SPD) and former mayor of Berlin, stressed, "We must make sure that we do not create a new dependence on China. This is the current Russian Lessons from the Ukrainian crisis."
French Senator Andre Gattolin also pointed out that while Russia is a priority, the longer-term threat posed by China is greater.
Fueled by this trend, Europe, long uninterested in the Taiwan issue, is now preparing to stand with the United States on the controversial issue, the Nikkei reported.
After China expressed anger over U.S. Speaker Nancy Pelosi's visit to Taiwan and conducted military exercises around Taiwan and live-fire drills, EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell said the reaction was unreasonable. The French foreign ministry also urged China to respect order.
In the face of a real threat from Russia, European powers have rediscovered the value of a transatlantic alliance with the United States, the Nikkei reported. On the Russian side, Europe is backed by the United States. Therefore, if the US confronts the CCP, Europe should also support the U.S.

Japanese expert: Will see European naval and air forces join Indo-Pacific operations
"Nikkei" reported on 12 September 2022, Michito Tsuruoka, associate professor of international security and European politics at Keio University in Japan, said that if there is an emergency in the South China Sea or Taiwan, France may be in the South Pacific. Deploy the military just in case. "These drills can be used as an exercise in this situation," he said.
"Air assets are being deployed faster than maritime assets, so we're likely to see both the air force and the navy join the Indo-Pacific region," Tsuruoka said.
The Nikkei reported that, as tensions between the U.S. and China escalated, such a scenario could become a reality, not out of reach.
Some analysts have questioned the importance of European power projection in the Indo-Pacific, given that Europe has less power compared to the US military. The United States deploys tens of thousands of personnel and dozens of warships in the Indo-Pacific. Some are calling on Europeans to focus on defending Europe against Russia so the US can focus on China.
Tsuruoka wrote in "The Diplomat" on 18 August 2022, "The fact that different allies focus on different threats and challenges in different theaters will lead to a widening of the cognitive gap between them, making the , Russia or other strategic agendas are more difficult to achieve.”
He believes that while it is reasonable to question what Europe can actually bring to the Indo-Pacific, it is "too early to deny European military involvement in the region."
Tsuruoka said Europe's involvement in the Indo-Pacific and Europe's role in its neighbors cannot be an "either-or" issue. "As long as both are important to its own security, Europe needs to do both," he said.
