The U.S. Senate Foreign Affairs Committee voted 17 in favor and 5 against the passage of the Taiwan Policy Act of 2022 on Wednesday local time. Foreign media said the move would strengthen U.S. military support for Taiwan, including billions of dollars in additional security support.

Reuters reported that the voting results showed that both the Republican Party and the Democratic Party to which US President Biden belonged showed strong support for the position of the United States to change its Taiwan policy. The most comprehensive reshaping of relations with Taiwan. The bill will then be sent to the Senate for consideration.

"We need to see what we're facing," said Bob Menendez, chairman of the foreign affairs committee, but also stressed that he had no intention of seeking war with Beijing or raising tensions. Republican Congressman Jim Risch said, "If we want to ensure that Taiwan has a chance to resist, we have to act now," arguing that any change in Taiwan's status quo would be disastrous for the U.S. economy and national security.

The Taiwan Policy Act includes the authorization of US$4.5 billion in military assistance to Taiwan over four years through the Taiwan Security Assistance Initiative to accelerate the modernization of Taiwan's defense capabilities, and a five-year plan to prioritize U.S. It transfers its defense resources to Taiwan and designates Taiwan as a major non-NATO ally, giving Taiwan military and economic priority.

Comprehensive adjustment of Taiwan policy, the US "Taiwan Policy Act of 2022" passed for review

Reporters : Jin Shi and Tao Ming / https://www.ntdtv.com/gb/2022/09/15/a103528396.html

On Wednesday, the U.S. Senate Foreign Affairs Committee reviewed and approved the Taiwan Policy Act of 2022. The bill covers security cooperation, arms sales, Taiwan's diplomatic status and other issues, and has attracted much attention from all parties. Here's a look at the report the reporter sent back from Washington earlier:

The bill was co-sponsored by Senators Robert Menendez and Lindsey Graham in June. The foreign affairs committee said the case was the "most comprehensive adjustment" of U.S. policy toward Taiwan since the 1979 Taiwan Relations Act.

Tang Hao, an international affairs commentator, said, "After Pelosi's visit to Taiwan, the CCP launched a 'round-the-island military exercise' against Taiwan in an attempt to 'internalize' the Taiwan Strait. They not only want to unilaterally change the status quo of the Taiwan Strait, but also prepare to use force to take over Taiwan, that is currently facing the most tense and severe existential threat in the past 60 years. So, the U.S. side believes that it is very necessary to comprehensively adjust its policy toward Taiwan."

The 107-page Taiwan Policy Act of 2022 aims to enhance Taiwan's security, ensure regional stability, and deter the CCP's aggression against Taiwan. The most critical of these include:

- $4.5 billion in security assistance to Taiwan over the next 4 years;
- Grant Taiwan the status of a "major non-NATO ally";
- Renamed the U.S. Economic and Cultural Representative Office in Taipei to a more concise and powerful "Taiwan Representative Office";
- Authorize the president to impose sanctions on the CCP president at the highest level when Beijing escalates its malicious behaviour against Taiwan on a large scale.

The sponsor of the proposal stated that the Taiwan Policy Act will not change the current U.S. policy towards Taiwan.

Tang Hao, an international affairs commentator: "The most important thing is that the bill expands military support for Taiwan and designates Taiwan as a 'major non-NATO ally', which will enhance Taiwan's international military status and make US allies pay more attention to it. Cooperating with Taiwan can also allow Taiwan to purchase more high-end weapons that were not available before to deter the aggression of the communist army, and will further deter the CCP and delay their schedule of invading Taiwan."

Earlier media reports said that the Biden-Harris administration had expressed concerns because of the sensitive content of the bill. However, Menendez, one of the bill sponsors, said on Tuesday that Congress has had a lot of discussions with the Biden-Harris administration on the bill.

U.S. Senator Menendez said, "I think we now have a good consensus that on the one hand they can address their (government's) concerns and at the same time have a very strong bill."

After being passed by the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Senate today, the future of the Taiwan Policy Act is still uncertain. Next, it will be considered and passed in the entire Senate and House of Representatives before it can be handed over to President Biden to sign into law.

Xiao Meiqin, the representative of the Republic of China in the United States, said, "There is no doubt that we have a consensus that the security situation (in the Taiwan Strait) must be resolved."

U.S. Senator Kevin Cramer said, "We must take strong steps to send a strong signal to the Chinese (CCP) leadership that we will not sit idly by and take their aggressive stance seriously."

Although the bill is still in the initial stage of deliberation, it has already sparked a jump-start from Beijing. On Wednesday, China's Taiwan Affairs Office said it was "firmly opposed" to the bill.

Taiwan Policy Act reduces symbolic provisions and expands the scale of gratuitous military aid to Taiwan to US$6.5 billion

The U.S. Senate Foreign Affairs Committee passed the highly anticipated "Taiwan Policy Act of 2022" on 14 September 2022, Eastern Time. Compared with the proposed version, there are some changes in content, especially the military part. The original version only contained Ming provided Taiwan with US$4.5 billion over four years in the form of "Foreign Military Financing" (FMF). The new version added that it was "free" assistance, and an additional US$2 billion was added in the fifth year, which was equivalent to US$6.5 billion in direct military aid to Taiwan.

In addition, the main changes are symbolic provisions, such as the change of the name of the representative office in the United States to Taiwan and the non-coercive "Congressional Opinion". In addition, the original version designated Taiwan as a "major non-NATO ally" (MNNA) status, which was revised to "equal treatment as an MNNA ally."

The U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee approved the Taiwan Policy Act of 2022 with 17 votes in favor and 5 against. The legislation, co-sponsored by Democratic Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Bob Menendez and Republican Senator Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), seeks to strengthen U.S. policy toward Taiwan, expand U.S. efforts to promote Taiwan's security, ensure regional stability, and deter further Chinese aggression against Taiwan. The legislation also establishes a broad system of economic sanctions that raises the price of CCP China's aggressive actions against Taiwan.

Menendez explained in an interview with the Central News Agency that the version passed by the committee has indeed been slightly revised, mainly in the symbolic rather than substantive areas, and there are not many changes in the core parts of the bill, including defense assistance, international participation and economic exchanges.

The version of the proposal requires the Secretary of State and Taiwan to initiate negotiations to change the name of the "Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office" in the United States to the "Taiwan Representative Office"; the approved version changes this section to "Congressional Opinion." "Congressional Opinions" are not mandatory for the executive branch, but are recommendations in nature.

In the proposed version, the personnel procedures for adjusting the position of the AIT director are to be handled in the same way as ambassadors abroad, which must be approved by the Senate; this provision is deleted in the approved version.

Treat Taiwan as an MNNA ally

The proposed version designates Taiwan as a "major non-NATO ally" (MNNA) while the approved version is adjusted to "treat Taiwan in the same way as an MNNA ally" in the transfer of arms.

Overweight plans to provide a total of $6.5 billion in military financing from 2023 to 2027

The proposal version plans to provide Taiwan with a total of 4.5 billion U.S. Dollars in foreign military financing (Foreign Military Financing/FMF) from 2023 to 2026; through the version overweight, it plans to provide a total of 6.5 billion US dollars in military financing from 2023 to 2027, and it is stated that no need Repayment of grant assistance is equivalent to direct military assistance.

The proposed version originally intended to adjust the "providing defensive weapons" clause in the "Taiwan Relations Act" and expand it to "arms conducive to deterring acts of aggression by the People's Liberation Army"; It is adjusted to "maintain sufficient self-defense capabilities" and add "strategies to prevent and deter the Chinese People's Liberation Army from coercion and aggression."

In addition, the version retains provisions in support of Taiwan's display of symbols of sovereignty, requiring the Secretary of State to repeal any internal regulations that do not allow Taiwan to display its flag or military uniforms in U.S. federal agencies. The adopted version also maintains that UN Resolution 2758 does not address the issue of Taiwan's representation. Regarding the sanctions to deter mainland Chinese aggression, most of the bills maintain the content of the previous version, and make the sanctions conditions more specific, from the original text of "large-scale escalation of malicious acts against Taiwan" to "large-scale escalation of aggressive acts, including overt or covert acts of military operations".

抗衡北京威胁 台驻美代表接待30国逾60位议员

On Tuesday (13 September 2022), Taiwan's representative to the United States, Siu Meiqin, received more than 60 members of parliament from 30 countries at Shuang Oak Park, her official residence in Washington. These congressmen took advantage of the opportunity to attend the annual IPAC summit of the "Inter-Parliamentary Alliance on China Policy" in Washington to meet with representatives of Taiwan in the United States. It was a gathering of unprecedented scale, showing that facing the threat from Beijing together is becoming a consensus among lawmakers in many countries.

"We do not seek to provoke bullies, but we also do not bow to pressure," said Siu Meiqin, speaking at the meeting, according to foreign lawmakers who attended the gathering, according to an exclusive report by Reuters.

According to the report, the representative of Taiwan to the United States thanked the United States for its commitment to sell weapons to Taiwan at the meeting, but also expressed that the U.S. government may delay the promised military equipment to Taiwan due to the current shortage of weapons and equipment in the United States, expressing concern over delivery years later.

Siu Meiqin also expressed her support to the two Ukrainian representatives present. "We certainly want the international community to stand with Ukraine, and we want the international community to stand with Taiwan. Together, we can deter China from further aggressive behaviour," she said.

According to the Voice of America report, at the meeting of the "Inter-Parliamentary Coalition on China Policy" held on Tuesday, Republican Senator Rubio, co-chair of the US branch of the coalition, said, "If the CCP succeeds in allowing Taiwanese to live under its tyranny, underneath, that will be the moment to rewrite the destiny of mankind."

Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chairman Menendez, another co-chair of the coalition's U.S. arm, said the foreign affairs committee is expected to review the Taiwan Policy Act on Wednesday. The purpose of the bill is to "clearly articulate U.S. support for Taiwan," and he is confident that the bill will have strong bipartisan support from members of the committee.

The Inter-Parliamentary Coalition for China Policy is expected to sign a joint statement in Washington on Wednesday pledging to urge their respective governments to take stronger measures to deter CCP China from using force against Taiwan, the report said.

"We will work to ensure that our administration shows China that military aggression against Taiwan will cost Beijing dearly. Military and political measures, including effective sanctions, should be considered," the draft text of the statement said.

Senator Rubio: Confronting Communist China is the "challenge that will define the 21st century"

Confronting the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and the bloc of totalitarian nations it leads will be the defining challenge of the 21st century.

That was the case made by Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) at a Sep. 13 press conference, during which he implored the democracies of the world to heed the seriousness of the threat posed by an ascendant authoritarianism.

“We live in a moment where there has now been a global awakening, a realization, that the planet is threatened by the rise of a totalitarian bloc, an alliance of totalitarians who seek to redefine the world order in their image,” Rubio said.

“[They] seek not only to be powerful nations but the most powerful nations on the planet. And, of course, Beijing’s Communist Party leads the way in that regard.”

The speech was delivered during a summit for the Inter-Parliamentary Alliance on China (IPAC), an international alliance of parliamentarians from democratic nations focused on creating proactive China policies.

CCP seeks to "upend global order"

Rubio told the IPAC attendees that the CCP is attempting to “upend the global order” and that the manner in which the free nations of the world respond to that attempt is the “challenge that will define the 21st century.”

To that end, Rubio said that the regime’s way of doing things is incompatible with democratic and even basic moral principles.

“[The CCP] doesn’t believe in simple principles like religious liberty, the right to free speech, democratic elections,” Rubio said. “The rule of law becomes subservient to what the governing party wants.

“Their willingness to undermine all of the institutions and the norms of the world to fulfill this ambition is without a doubt the singular geopolitical issue of the 21st century.

“When the history of the 21st century is written, it will be about what happened at this moment in the world and which direction the world took.”

Rubio said that U.S. leadership long believed China would naturally liberalize and become more free as it was increasingly granted more access to the world economy. Instead, he said, the opposite had happened. Rather than joining the international order, the CCP took advantage of trade rules to benefit itself while refusing to adhere to international laws and norms.

It was this point—the CCP’s refusal to play by any set of rules—that Rubio said defined the regime’s relations with the rest of the world.

“It is not simply that nations rise,” Rubio said. “China is certainly a nation with a proud and ancient history. A large nation. An economically powerful nation. That’s not our quarrel.

“Our quarrel is their design to be the world’s most powerful nation and to do so at the expense of everyone else.”

To that end, he warned of the catastrophic consequences that would befall the world should the CCP continue its struggles for global dominance and, specifically, if it should act on its long-held ambition to conquer Taiwan.

Such an event would be a “seminal moment in history,” Rubio said, and would “steer the course of human events for generations.”

CCP-led/Russia-Ukraine war a battle between "freedom and tyranny"

Notably, Rubio’s comments came just hours after diplomats from China and Russia explicitly stated that they aim to change the direction of the international order.

Rubio framed the war in Ukraine as the opening confrontation between a CCP-led totalitarian bloc and the democratic nations of the world. He described it as an “unfortunate but necessary battle between the forces of freedom and tyranny … the forces of good and evil.”

Rubio used the language of good and evil to underpin the struggle in historical terms, not as something wholly new, but as something known to humanity innately.

“Technology changes, habits change, practices change, nations change, [but] human nature never changes,” Rubio said.

“Human nature is the same today as it was 5,500 years ago, and it is a nature which causes those in power to oftentimes seek to subjugate and enslave those who have less power. And it is a desire of our fallen nature that is never satisfied, that can never be negotiated with it, that can only either be surrendered to or defeated.”

Ukraine joins the Inter-Parliamentary Alliance for China Policy (IPAC)

Ukraine's cross-party lawmakers joined the Trans-Parliamentary Alliance on China Policy to discuss how the Alliance of Democracies can jointly respond to challenges from the CCP on issues such as human rights. The "Taiwan Policy Act" reviewed by the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee will be the most comprehensive adjustment of U.S. policy toward Taiwan since the "Taiwan Relations Act" came into effect in 1979.

On the 203rd day of the Ukrainian-Russian War, the Inter-Parliamentary Alliance for China Policy (IPAC) announced that Ukraine had joined the alliance.

On 14 September 2022, IPAC held its annual summit in Washington. The two co-chairs of Ukraine said to the public that Ukraine joined mainly because of the CCP’s position in the Russian-Ukrainian war. China is Ukraine's nominal "strategic partner". After the outbreak of the Russia-Ukraine war, Beijing has substantively supported Moscow in the fields of diplomacy, economy, trade and military, which disappointed people from all walks of life in Ukraine.

The Taiwan Policy Act is promulgated, democratic countries jointly deal with the CCP

At the same time, more than 60 lawmakers from more than 30 countries gathered in Washington, calling for stronger legislation to jointly address China's challenges. These include the Taiwan Policy Act of 2022.

The Taiwan Policy Act of 2022 is as many as 107 pages, and highlights include positioning Taiwan as a "major non-NATO ally", the Taiwan Representative Office in the United States being renamed the "Taiwan Representative Office", Sanctions CCP officials who undermine the stability of the Taiwan Strait, provides Taiwan with 4.5 billion US dollars in security assistance, and supports Taiwan's participation in international organizations. This is the most comprehensive revision of US policy toward Taiwan since the Taiwan Relations Act came into effect in 1979.

Fan Shiping, a professor at the Institute of Political Studies at Taiwan Normal University: "In the past, Taiwan's weapons were all purchased by Taiwan itself, so in this bill, the United States paid for Taiwan to help Taiwan, which is equivalent to providing Taiwan's weapons. Of course, this is a big deal. In addition, the representative office of Taiwan in the United States will be changed from the current Taipei Economic and Cultural Office to the Taiwan Representative Office, which is also a big change.”

The Taiwan Policy Act 2022 was proposed in June this year by Democratic Senate Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Robert Menendez and Republican Senator Lindsey Graham. White House National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan once said that "some of the content worries us a bit", but the U.S. position has remained firm and will continue to oppose any use of force to change the status quo.

Fan Shiping said, "This thing is just a bill of Congress, so it is not certain whether the State Department will abide by this. Because the United States is about to enter the midterm elections, the mainstream public opinion in the United States is anti-Communist and pro-Taiwan. If Taiwan comes to visit, of course, it will be helpful for the improvement of Taiwan-U.S. relations."

Taiwan Policy Act may brew a political storm among Taiwan, the U.S. and CCP

The outside world believes that the content of the "Taiwan Policy Act" may form a new political storm among Taiwan, the United States and CCP China.

To prevent the Senate from passing the Taiwan Policy Act, the CCP has repeatedly put pressure on the U.S. executive branch. On 23 August 2022, Qin Gang, the CCP Chinese ambassador to the United States, went to the U.S. State Department to meet with the U.S. Deputy Secretary of State, claiming that if the "Taiwan Policy Act" was passed, U.S.-China (CCP) relations would face disintegration.

Song Guocheng, a researcher at the International Relations Research Center of National Chengchi University: "So this "Taiwan Policy Act" itself, I think, may reverse a major development in the entire US-China-Taiwan triangular relationship. Especially for Taiwan, such as the lifting of Taiwan's arms sales restrictions, To elevate the diplomatic status of the representative office of Taiwan, and even to carry out the so-called asymmetrical strategy with the cooperation between the United States and Taiwan, etc."

Xi-Putin Uzbekistan meeting has impact on Sino-U.S. relations

Chinese leader Xi Jinping is attending the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit in Samarkand and possibly meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin. The outside world is concerned that if the two meet, will it symbolize the tension between the Sino-Russian alliance that competes with European and American countries and the tension after the Russian-Ukrainian war?

Fan Shiping said, "The alliance between China and Russia seems to be imperative at present, but of course this will lead to more and more differences between the United States and China, especially on the issue of Russia, especially on the issue of Ukraine. I think this has a relatively big impact on Sino-US relations."

Song Guocheng said, "Unless Xi Jinping sends troops today, or helps Russia to win the Russia-Ukraine war, his relationship with the so-called Russia's uncapped alliance is basically just a diplomatic one. It is an unpredictable fact that CCP China and Russia will be condemned, boycotted, and even spurned by the international community in the future.”

Oleksandr Merezhko, head of Ukraine's parliamentary foreign affairs committee, who has pushed for the establishment of a cross-party group, said that "for democracies to survive, they must support each other."

第77届联合国大会开幕 台湾希望参与联合国的呼声再起

On 13 September 2022, the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly opened at the United Nations Headquarters in New York. On the same day, Ambassador Li Guangzhang of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in New York and others launched a new round of publicity activities calling for Taiwan's participation in the United Nations in Times Square in New York City.

According to the Voice of America, just as the 77th UN General Assembly opened at the UN headquarters in New York, Ambassador Li Guangzhang of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in New York and others came to Times Square to launch an appeal campaign for Taiwan 2350, which has been excluded from the UN system. Ten thousand people have spoken out, demanding that Taiwan participate in the United Nations and contribute to the world.

On 13 September, a number of huge video billboards in Times Square displayed the words "Peace, You and Taiwan, the United Nations", as well as pictures such as colorful sky lanterns representing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

Li Guangzhang emphasized at the event, "Taiwan is a helper to the world and a force for good. In the face of intertwined and complex global challenges, now is the time for Taiwan to participate in the United Nations and help find solutions together."

Li Guangzhang also said, "The improper interpretation of the UN General Assembly Resolution 2758 by the UN Secretariat not only deprives Taiwan of its right to participate in the UN and its specialized agencies, but also prevents the international community from benefiting from Taiwan's contributions."

On 25 October 1971, the 26th United Nations General Assembly passed Resolution 2758, which decided to "restore the legitimate rights of the People's Republic of China in the United Nations. Since then, the Chinese government has been using this resolution as an excuse to prevent Taiwan from participating in the United Nations system. All activities.

However, the Taiwanese government insists that Resolution 2758 only deals with the issue of China's representation within the United Nations system, and does not involve Taiwan, nor does it accept China's claim that Taiwan is part of its territory.

Li Guangzhang said, "The purpose of the United Nations is to maintain international peace and security. In the face of CCP China's military threats and provocations, Taiwan, as a responsible member of the international community, will firmly defend its national sovereignty and security, while maintaining restraint and deepening cooperation with like-minded countries. and jointly maintain regional peace and stability.”

Three general studies found the key to childhood encephalitis Luo Yijun worried there may be other unknown factors

With the characteristic mutation of K97E, this mutation can partially explain the epidemic of encephalitis in children, but there are other unknown correlations to be confirmed by research. (Picture provided by Command Center)

After the local outbreak of Omicron variant strain this year, there have been many cases of children with severe encephalitis after being diagnosed with the disease; The study believes that the special mutation site of the virus is more likely to cause an immune storm; Luo Yijun, deputy head of the medical response team of the Central Epidemic Command Center, said that there are other unknown correlations to be confirmed by research.

Luo Yijun said at the press conference on the epidemic on 14 September 2022 that the new research of the three general managers showed that in the cases of children with encephalitis caused by the epidemic in the study, the gene virus sequences belonged to BA.2.3.7, which is a sub-branch of BA.2, which contains a characteristic mutation of K97E, which can partially explain the epidemic of encephalitis in children, but there are other unknown correlations to be confirmed by research.

Luo Yijun pointed out that the result needs further research, such as cell or animal experiments to confirm whether the mutation is directly related to immune system regulation or nervous system invasion. He also pointed out that when the epidemic of childhood encephalitis broke out in Hong Kong in February 2022, the popular BA.2 at that time did not carry the K97 mutation. This mutation may partially explain the epidemic of childhood encephalitis, but there are still many unknown correlations. Further research is needed to confirm.

The three general studies found that although no viral nucleic acid was detected in the cerebrospinal fluid of the sick children, the increase in cytokines was found, which means that the virus did not directly invade the brain, but caused an immune storm by inducing an excessive immune system. inflammation, but this is only inference, but consistent with clinical observations.

At present, there are a total of 206 severe cases of infection under the age of 12 in the Republic of China, including 31 cases of encephalitis, accounting for 15%, of which 12 died. Luo Yijun said that there was a new case of childhood encephalitis last week. Will this wave of epidemics increase more encephalitis cases like the previous wave? Currently still under observation.

Bullied! Taiwanese beauty suppressed by China, cried...

Too much deception! In recent years, CCP China has publicly suppressed Taiwan on many international occasions. A similar incident occurred at the 2022 World Conference on Innovation and Technology (WCIT) held in Penang, Malaysia on 13 September 2022. Beauty Gao Manrong, who represented Taiwan in the Miss Universe Asia pageant, was suppressed by CCP and her inability to come to the stage and cry was exposed, which caused heated discussions.

When Yu Wanru, Director of Information Technology of Taoyuan City Government, attended the opening ceremony of the World Innovation and Technology Conference in Penang,  the contestants from all over the world who participated in the Miss Asia Beauty contest were invited to the stage and greeted all the guests of the conference in their own language. The Taiwan delegation found that when there was a contestant representing Taiwan in the competition, they were all excited to cheer for her.

Unexpectedly, when Taiwanese beauty Gao Manrong was about to take the stage, she was suddenly held back. Yu Wanru saw all this, and at first did not understand the reason, "It was not until all the beauties came on stage and waved their country's national flag. I learned that at the last minute, because of China's suppression, the convention cannot let Taiwanese beauties come to power."

Yu Wanru said, "My mobile phone recorded the whole process, and in the end, Manrong couldn't hide her sadness and tears. The Taiwanese group shouted Taiwan Go, cheered for Gao Manrong, and let the guests know that Taiwanese beauty was also present. I found it later. Manrong, comfort and encourage her, the organizer of WCIT also came to apologize to her, and the organizer was forced to not let the Taiwanese beauties on stage at the last minute, and the reasons are well known to everyone.”

Yu Wanru said bluntly, "China's unreasonable suppression is unbearable for democratic countries, and we still have a long way to go. We must continue to work hard with our friends in democratic countries. Only by uniting and cheering."

Ukrainian astronomers report many UFOs appear over Kyiv

Reporter : Li Zhaoxi / Editor: Lin Qing / https://www.ntdtv.com/gb/2022/09/14/a103527883.html

The Russia-Ukraine war can be described as a major event on earth this year, which has attracted the attention of all countries in the world, but it seems that aliens are also very curious and have gone to Kyiv to find out. Ukrainian astronomers pointed out in a paper recently that a lot of UFOs have appeared in the sky of Kyiv this year.

According to a report by the US "VICE" magazine on Tuesday (13 September), according to a new preprint paper published by the Main Astronomical Observatory under the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (NAS), There are UFOs flying."everywhere" in the sky in Kyiv this year.

The paper details an independent investigation of Unidentified Flying Objects (UFOs) or Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAP) which were observed at both the Key Observatory in Kyiv and the meteor station in the village of Venerovka, south of Kyiv.

The authors of the paper B.E. Zhilyaev, V.N. Petukhov and V.M. Reshetnyk have determined that the main characteristic of the UAP is "high speed", which makes them invisible to the human eye. Astronomers captured images of UAP using specially developed techniques and observations during the day.

"The eye cannot fix a phenomenon that lasts less than 1/10 of a second, it takes 4/10 of a second to identify an event. Ordinary photo and video recordings will not capture UAP," the paper says. "To detect UAP, You need to fine-tune the device: shutter speed, frame rate and dynamic range.”

After sorting through the data, the researchers identified two types of UAPs: "spaceships" and "ghosts." "Spaceships" are "luminous objects, brighter than the background of the sky", they call these ships birds such as swifts, falcons and eagles; "ghosts" are "dark objects" with contrast ranging from From a few to about 50%, they don't emit and absorb "all the radiation" that falls on them.

"Both types of UAPs exhibit extremely high velocities of motion. Their detection is a difficult experimental problem," the researchers noted. "Single, gangs, and groups of craft were detected, moving at velocities of every 3 degrees to 15 degrees per second." (Earth's rotation moves about 15 degrees per hour, 360 degrees in one revolution / 24 hours in a day). 'Ghosts' have been observed in the troposphere, estimated to be between 3 and 12 meters in size, with speeds of up to 15 km/s. "

Many people tend to think these are missiles, rockets, or other war-related things. But Ukrainian astronomers insisted that there was no indication that they were related to the war, and "we observed a considerable number of objects whose nature was not well defined".

This year, UAP has received high attention from the U.S. government and established the All Area Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO) to track unidentified objects in space, high-altitude and underwater.

Well-known British astronaut Tim Peake, who gave his views on UAP on Good Morning Britain in June, was delighted that the investigation was under way.

"Do you think these are things from the outside world? Do you think they are related to the development of secret weapons by China and Russia?" the host asked Pique.

"I don't think it's the development of any state nation or non-state organization. Not at all", Pique responded immediately, "I think when you see the video footage, it's pretty remarkable. The capabilities of these machines do seem to be extraordinary."

After the outbreak of the Ukraine-Russia conflict, the personal safety of Ukrainian President Zelenskyy has always been the focus of outside attention. It is now rumored that he was involved in a car accident while moving in a car, but fortunately no serious injuries were caused.

The Sun newspaper reported that Zelenskyy was hit by a car while riding in the capital Kyiv after he appeared in Izium, a stronghold successfully recaptured by the Ukrainian army and witnessed the flag raising ceremony. Presidential Spokesperson Sergii Nykyforov said Zelenskyy was not seriously injured in the accident and was examined by a doctor.

The report mentioned that the driving condition was serious, and the ambulance took over after emergency treatment at the scene. Police are investigating the cause of the accident.

After the incident came out, Ukrainian people commented on the Internet. One netizen typed, "I hope it's okay, I wish the president well", and another mentioned, "I hope this is not against President Zelenskyy (life)! Please! Be careful, you are our hope!"

Ukrainian counterattack! Zelenskyy's domineering response

Image :  Zelensky recently warned Russia again: "Ukraine will win in the end". (European News Agency)

Ukrainian troops have recently launched a counteroffensive south of Kharkiv Oblast in northeastern Ukraine, and the Russian Federation army has been defeated and retreated. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy recently warned Russia that "Kyiv will achieve the final victory", emphasizing that Ukraine would rather have no heating, food and other supplies than allow the Russian army to occupy any territory.

According to a report by CNN, the Ukrainian army has recently successfully recovered a lot of lost land in the east and south of Ukraine. In particular, the Kharkov region has successfully regained dozens of Russian-occupied territories. The Russian Ministry of Defense also announced the withdrawal of Balakliya and Izium in Kharkiv Oblast, claiming that the move was a "rearrangement of troops" to "turn in" to the Udon Donbass, but many Russians who support the Kremlin do not buy it, and it is a great shame to denounce the Russian army being beaten by the Ukrainian army to retreat!

Taking advantage of the momentum of the Ukrainian counter-offensive, Zelenskyy questioned Moscow through the communication software Telegram on 11 September, "Do you still think that we are 'one country'? Do you think you can scare us, defeat us, and make us give in? You don't understand anything! Don't understand who we are, what we live for, what we want to express!"

Zelenskyy continued, "Listen carefully! No gas or no you? We choose no you; no lights or no you? We also choose no you; no water or no you? We choose no you; no food Or without you? We will still choose not to have you! For us, the cold, darkness, hunger, and lack of water are not as scary as the so-called "brotherhood" you forcefully instilled. I believe that the course of history will bring everything back to what it should have been. Look, we will have gas, lights, water, and food, and without you!"

CCP President Xi Jinping arrived in Kazakhstan by plane on 14 September 2022. Unexpectedly, his foot slipped when he got off the plane. He was so frightened that he quickly grabbed the railing with his hands and did not fall on the spot. After the picture was exposed, it caused a heated discussion on the Internet. Wang Hao, a famous mouth, asked on Facebook: "I stepped out of the air when I went out. Is this a bad omen?"

Wang Hao said on Facebook, "I stepped out of the air when I went out. Is this a bad omen?" Xi Jinping arrived in Kazakhstan on a charter flight in the afternoon of 14 September 2022. Immediately, he quickly stretched out his right hand and grabbed the handrail, so that he did not fall but after that, he kept looking down at his pace, as if he was afraid of slipping again, and he did not even look up when he raised his hand to say hello to the distance.

Wang Hao pointed out that when Xi Jinping visited France a few years ago, he also experienced unstable walking, which attracted international attention. This time, some Chinese netizens said, "It almost changed the course of Chinese history."

Netizens said, "I haven't been out for too long, I'm rusty", "It's a pity that I didn't fall...", "It's a bad omen to go out on the first foot, which is an ominous sign." Sour "I'm overwhelmed? Or is there something else on my mind?", "Insulting China", "The cerebral thrombosis looks very serious", "I haven't been out for more than 3 years, my legs and feet have degenerated, and I can't stand the red carpet treatment", " It almost changed the course of Chinese history” and so on.

Kazakhstan welcomes Xi Jinping, everyone on masks, CCTV does not show live footage

The CCP insisted on the so-called "dynamic clearing". Xi Jinping led a team wearing masks to visit Kazakhstan, and his feet slipped when he got off the plane. All Kazakh staff wore masks to greet them, including the honor guard. There was no live footage of the CCTV news broadcast that night.

On 14 September, Xi Jinping arrived in Kazakhstan, and the country's President Tokayev led officials to greet him at the airport.

The live video edited by netizens circulated online. In the video, all CCP delegations wear masks. Xi Jinping also stepped off the plane wearing a mask. His feet suddenly slipped as he descended the stairs, and he was forced to balance on the railing with his hands.

The video also showed that all Kazakh officials at the scene also wore masks. Including the neatly and solemnly dressed honor guards of the three armed forces, they also uniformly wear medical masks with particularly prominent mouths, which is a bit funny.

The only team in the video is not wearing a mask, a military band that needs to play with their mouths.

In the evening of the 14th, when the CCP news network reported that Xi Jinping arrived at the Kazakh airport, the anchor read the manuscript throughout, and there was no live scene. Netizens speculated that it might be because Xi Jinping's feet slipped, and some people thought it might be that the picture of all staff wearing masks was too ugly.

Follow-up photos released by overseas media show that both China and Kazakhstan also wore masks in a number of public activities that day.

Netizens found that the Kazakh president did not wear a mask when he met with several foreign guests recently.

Kazakhstan has close ties to both China and Russia.

At present, most countries in the world are liberalizing their epidemic prevention policies and learning to "coexist with the virus". Only the CCP still adheres to the so-called "zero-covid" policy of "dynamic clearing", which has evolved into a political movement known as the "Second Cultural Revolution". This movement has created countless humanitarian disasters and caused public grievances to boil over.

Whistleblower testifies in the U.S.: Twitter has CCP spy within

Editor : Meng Xinqi / Reporter : Yi Ru / https://www.ntdtv.com/gb/2022/09/14/a103528103.html

The CCP banned Chinese citizens from using Twitter, an overseas social media platform, but on the other hand, it sent spies to infiltrate these overseas social platforms. On 13 September 2022, U.S. Senator Grassley said at a congressional hearing that a whistleblower who was a former Twitter executive disclosed that at least one CCP agent was working on Twitter.

U.S. Senator Grassley said, "The FBI notified Twitter that at least one Chinese agent was at the company."

On 13 September, U.S. Senator Grassley said at a congressional hearing that Twitter could be at risk of data leakage.

On the same day, the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee subpoenaed former Twitter security chief Peiter Zatko to testify. He disclosed that a week before he was fired, he learned that an agent from China's Ministry of State Security (MSS) was on Twitter's payroll.

Lai Jianping, a master of international law from China University of Political Science and Law: "'Such an important platform for public opinion, a gathering place for anti-communists, is obviously a thorn in the CCP's side. It is a basic position for the CCP to conduct public opinion warfare and various information warfare. Therefore, the CCP must It wants to take this position. How will it take it? The only way it can do it is to send agents and put its personnel in the Twitter company, use various methods to bribe, and use people inside the Twitter company to serve them. ."

Zatko said the FBI had notified Twitter that the company had at least one Chinese spy inside.

Lai Jianping said, "What we know now is the so-called one or two. In fact, the number of agents in him is unimaginable. Twitter is also a human-controlled company. It is possible that some agents are in the Twitter company, and the Twitter company may turn a blind eye or help others in disguise."

Zatko said some Twitter employees were concerned that CCP authorities could collect user data.

Shen Rongqin, a professor at York University in Canada, said, "From the perspective of big data, Twitter has much more control over personal privacy than people think they need to know. In fact, this is a very serious hazard to the free world, people's freedom of speech."

Zatko also referred to a Reuters report on the 13th at the hearing, which detailed internal conflicts between some teams at Twitter that wanted to get advertising revenue from Chinese advertisers, while others were worried about geo-politics. The prospect of doing business in CCP China amid heightened political tensions.

"This is a big internal problem, and Twitter is reluctant to give up China, the fastest-growing overseas market for ad revenue," Zatko said.

Jin Chun, a former engineer at Huawei’s Nanjing Research Institute, said, “I think the CCP has adopted two-sided tactics in many ways, one explicit and one secretive. The explicit means to deter others, keep them away from politics, and stay away from social media such as Twitter. Avoid talking about the CCP's sensitive topics, and the secretive ones may want to gain some personal privacy or something."

Zatko also pointed out at the hearing that some agencies related to the Chinese government may have violated Twitter's own policies by placing a large number of advertisements on Twitter.

Zatko previously provided nearly 200 pages of information to Congress, the Justice Department and federal authorities in August. It was disclosed that Twitter not only concealed its own security vulnerabilities from the outside world, but also misled regulators. Moreover, Twitter's management of information security is loose, and foreign governments can easily use the Twitter platform to achieve their own propaganda work.

Shen Rongqin said, "It will hurt the freedom of speech on Twitter. Many people found on Twitter that if you want to scold the CCP or something, you can't speak freely. For example, it exposes your personal information and knows your preferences, or reducing your reach, it suppresses your freedom of speech and so on. Over time, people will have less trust in social media like Twitter.”

Zatko alleges that Twitter receives funds from unidentified Chinese institutions, which can then obtain data on Chinese users from Twitter, jeopardizing the security of Chinese users. Twitter has denied Zatko's allegations.

It is understood that Musk, the founder of Tesla, planned to acquire Twitter this year, but later abandoned the acquisition plan due to opaque account information and too many fake accounts.

Kyrgyz-Tajik border fires

Reuters reported on 14 September that clashes broke out on the border between Kyrgyz and Tajikistan, two former Soviet Union countries. The Kyrgyz border guards accused Tajiks of occupying positions in unmarked sections of the border.

Kyrgyz authorities said Tajik soldiers attacked sentries patrolling in Bulak-Bashi and Pasky-Aryk in the southwestern state of Bakten.

One Kyrgyz soldier was hit by shrapnel and another suffered a concussion during the Braque-Bashi clash.

Tajik authorities accused Kyrgyz forces of firing mortars and machine guns at a border post.

According to Tajik media "Asia-plus" (Asia-plus), citing anonymous sources, the incident killed one Tajik border guard and injured five others.

The Russian news agency RIA also reported that a Tajik border guard was killed.

Both Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan are allied with Russia, which has military bases in both countries, but the two countries often clash over borders. In 2021, there have been bloody clashes between the two sides that killed 50 people, almost triggering a full-scale war between the two countries.

Russia has called on Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan to take urgent measures to control the border situation, the Russian news agency reported.

Both Kyrgyz and Tajik leaders will attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit in Uzbekistan. Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese Communist Party General Secretary Xi Jinping are attending the summit.

Bloody clashes erupt between Azerbaijan and Armenia

In addition to the firing of two member states, serious clashes also broke out in Azerbaijan and Armenia, two dialogue partners of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization on the 13th.

About 100 soldiers on both sides were killed in bloody clashes between the two countries over the disputed Nagorno-Karabakh region.

It was the worst conflict between the two countries since they went to war in 2020. Russia announced on 13 September 2022 that it had coordinated a ceasefire between the two sides but authorities in Azerbaijan and Armenia both accused each other of violating the armistice agreement.

Analysis: The Shanghai Cooperation Organization is divided

The SCO currently has 8 full members, including CCP China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Pakistan, India, and Iran is waiting to join.

The organization also has 3 observer states: Mongolia, Belarus, Afghanistan, and 9 dialogue partners: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Cambodia, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Qatar.

The two main players in the SCO are the CCP and Russia. Current affairs commentator Jiang Feng commented on NTDTV's "News and Everyone Talk" program that the CCP paid and Russia provided guns to establish the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, an organization that fights against the West and against NATO in Asia.

He said that at this SCO summit, Xi Jinping and Putin met each other's needs. However, the Russian side disclosed information in advance that Xi Jinping is coming to meet with Putin, but the Chinese side has been slow to admit that Xi Jinping and Putin are still so hesitant and embarrassed in their talks. The refusal of the previous commitment to support Russia shows that the SCO lacks integrity and cohesion.

"The country you come to is either dictatorship, centralized power, or the unity of politics and religion. Even if you come to India, it will be in a different mood. No matter how lively the SCO meeting is, it is actually a situation where the appearance and spirit are different," Jiang Feng said. "If When the CCP returns to a pro-American stance, the value of the entire SCO is not worth mentioning.”

WHO: There will still be waves of covid in the future, and countries must remain vigilant

Reporter : Liu Qu / Editor: Kong Qingling / https://www.chinanews.com.cn/gj/2022/09-15/9852815.shtml

The World Health Organization said on the 14th that although the global weekly death toll from the new crown has dropped to the lowest level since the epidemic, it is expected that there will still be a new wave of infections in the future, and countries must maintain Be on high alert and be prepared for any outbreak risk that may arise.

According to the latest weekly epidemiological report on the new crown released by WHO, in the week from September 5 to 11, there were more than 3.1 million new confirmed cases worldwide, a decrease of 28% from the previous week; about 11,000 new deaths were added. For example, it was down 22% from the previous week.

WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said at a press conference on the same day, "Last week, countries reported the lowest number of covid deaths since March 2020. We are in an unprecedented position to end the covid pandemic. ."

Tedros added: "We're not there yet, but the finish line is just around the corner... But marathon runners will never stop when they see the finish line, but will do their best and run harder. Now is the time to run harder to make sure we cross the finish line and reap the rewards of our hard work."

However, for the upcoming autumn and winter epidemic situation, WHO experts believe that there may be a new wave of infection in the future, and urge countries to remain highly vigilant.

Maria van Kerckhoff, technical director of the WHO Health Emergencies Program, said that covi is still spreading at a high level around the world. "In fact, we know that the number of (coronavirus) cases reported by (countries) to WHO is underestimated. We believe the actual number of cases is much higher than reported."

She predicts that in the future, there may be waves of infections caused by the Omicron subtype strain or even a new mutant strain at different times around the world but she also emphasized that new waves of infections do not necessarily mean more new deaths, because people already have vaccines, antiviral drugs and other anti-epidemic tools.

Michael Ryan, executive director of the WHO's health emergency program, also said that even if the momentum of the covid pandemic is weakening, countries must remain vigilant because the opponent is "a highly volatile and still evolving virus."

According to Lianhe Zaobao, on the first day that Changi Airport Terminal 4 was reopened after two years of the covid pandemic, five flights took off and landed, with about 1,000 passengers.

Cathay Pacific flight CX739 arrived in Singapore at 2.38 pm on Tuesday (13 September 2022) about 25 minutes earlier than the original time, becoming the first flight to land in Terminal 4 (T4) on the first day of reopening .

Also taking off and landing at T4 on Tuesday were Cathay Pacific flight CX716 and Korean Air flights KE643, KE644 and KE645.

According to Lianhe Zaobao reporter's observation, most passengers completed customs clearance within 15 minutes after getting off the plane, and successfully collected their luggage before 3.30 pm, and the whole journey took less than 45 minutes.

The four subsidiaries of AirAsia Group as well as Cebu Pacific, Juneyao Air, Jeju Air, Bamboo Airways, Hong Kong Express, Vietnam Airlines, Vietjet and Thai Vietjet Air will gradually migrate to T4 within two weeks.

Citizens reflect that Shenzhen Airport terminal triggers intensive phobia, the airport responds

Recently, some citizens reported through the "Leader Message Board" of People's Daily Online that the interior ceiling design of the T3 terminal of Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport and the lotus root-type air-conditioning vents have strongly caused discomfort among people with intensive phobia. It is hoped that there will be plans to gradually replace them in the future.

  Image : Shenzhen Airport Weibo

In response, Shenzhen Airport (Group) Co., Ltd. responded that Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport T3 Terminal was planned and designed before 2010. The design was inspired by the image of the marine fish manta ray, aiming to simulate the swimming gesture of manta rays in the sea. During the preliminary design phase, more than 150 technicians from Italy, Germany and China were involved in the creation of 3D models of the T3 terminal structure and building envelope. The overall design took advantage of the streamlined dynamics and ecological evolution of nature. The form challenges the understanding and definition of traditional architecture.

Due to the comprehensive analysis and consideration of the structure and lighting, the interior ceiling design of the terminal building uses a honeycomb structure combining aluminum plate and glass, and the shape of the air-conditioning tree is also a kind of design echo, which makes the roof structure rise and the indoor ceiling becomes more two-dimensional and planar, and the part close to the ground is more three-dimensional, with a certain sense of space.

Shenzhen Airport attaches great importance to passenger experience. In accordance with the concept of "people-oriented", on the basis of the architectural configuration of the T3 terminal, the airport has continued to add green plants, diversified seats, design and display art installations. It has set up the landscape to provide passengers with a richer and more layered sensory experience, and hope that all passengers can travel comfortably in the airport.

In recent years, Shenzhen Airport has further integrated the user's sensory experience and aesthetic needs in the planning and design of the expansion project. The newly opened satellite hall in 2021 has been optimized in the design style of the T3 terminal building. The architectural style is more transparent, simple, and rich in technology sense.

In the future, in terms of the architectural planning and design of the T1 and T2 terminals, Shenzhen Airport will also focus on the harmony and unity of architectural modeling and user experience, so as to provide passengers with a beautiful waiting experience.
