Democratic Progressive Party chairman candidate and vice president Lai Ching-te held a "report to party members" political opinion conference in Pingtung this afternoon. He emphasized that protecting Taiwan, promoting democracy, peace and prosperity The mission of a stage. The DPP is the first native-born local government. It has only one purpose, which is to fight for Taiwan. Party members and supporters responded enthusiastically to the defeat of this election. Some people criticized the lack of unity within the party and the failure of judicial reform. The DPP has to bravely face the review and accept social criticism for improper actions, annuity reform, and solar energy construction, so as to have a chance to make a comeback.
Lai Ching-te went to Chaozhou Township, Pingtung County this afternoon to hold a "Report to Party Members" conference, which attracted thousands of Party members and supporters. Everyone is present. More than 20 party members and supporters spoke in turn, criticizing the reasons for the defeat of the DPP election. The controversy caused by the telegram and the judicial reform have not been done. After Lai is elected as the party chairman, he must deal with it one by one.
Lai Ching-te thanked all the supporters who came to participate during the holiday. On behalf of the supporters of the DPP, he hoped to continue to work hard with the DPP to protect Taiwan. He said, "The DPP is the first native government in Taiwan. The spirit of founding the party is to protect Taiwan and fight hard, we don't want to fight with others, but to protect the land of Taiwan, so that the people of Taiwan will not worry or be afraid, and we must be determined, so that the people of Taiwan will feel at ease when they see the DPP. Do not be afraid, there is the DPP stands on the front line to protect Taiwan. As long as it fights hard, it will not be displaced. This kind of will, determination, and courage must be displayed."
Lai Ching-te emphasized that protecting Taiwan, promoting democracy, peace and prosperity is the mission of the DPP in the next stage, "The specific approach is to fight for the economy and care for people's livelihood. Security-wise, Taiwan is not alone. The international community is concerned about the peace and security of the Indo-Pacific. We need not be afraid. Singing bravely and moving forward in the dark will surely overcome difficulties."

Well done! He once slapped the CCP in the face of the CCP in public, and now he will run for the President position
Editor : Qin Rui / https://www.aboluowang.com/2023/0114/1855212.html
"Hong Kong 01" with the factional background of Jiang Zemin and Zeng Qinghong published an article on the 12th, "The "Golden Sun of Taiwan Independence" advocates that the United States cannot be doubted, and made a big joke of "Taiwan's subjectivity"." Lai Ching-te was criticized severely. The reason why Lai became a thorn in the eyes of the Jiang faction seems to be related to his courage to oppose the power of the CCP and his daring to speak out.
The reason Jiang Party criticized Lai was that on January 8th, Lai Qingde recently went to Xingxiu Palace in the South District of Taichung City to hold a "Report to Party Members" political opinion presentation. Initiating remarks that doubt the United States has become a social consensus, if this is very detrimental to Taiwan."
For a long time, although "Hong Kong 01" with the faction background of Jiang Zemin and Zeng Qinghong has been pretending to be objective and just, on the Taiwan issue, it has been unabashedly "urging" or even running on Xi Jinping to use force against Taiwan in various ways.
This is especially evident on its closed sister website "Duoweiwang". Just take a few articles on this website in 2021 as examples:
On 16 November 2021, the website issued an article stating that "Unifying Taiwan is a historical task of the Xi Jinping era";
On 28 October, "Washington frequently plays the Taiwan card to help Beijing resolve to unify the two sides of the Taiwan Strait";
On 6 June, he published an article saying ""The Taiwan Strait War Begins", and the US military plane landed in Taiwan for the first time.
The reason why Lai Ching-te has become a thorn in Jiang's side seems to be related to his unafraid of the power of the CCP and his daring to speak out.
One of the most impressive scenes is that on 7 June 2014, when Tainan Mayor Lai Ching-te visited Shanghai, a CCP scholar at Fudan University claimed that the DPP should abandon the Taiwan independence party program in order to improve cross-strait relations.
Lai Ching-te responded in public, "Taiwan independence is certainly the DPP's proposition, but the procedure fully respects the self-determination of the Taiwanese people." "This was achieved through great social consensus. Chen Shui-bian used this idea to run for president, and he was elected. "

How many hairs does "Shirikawa" have? The most "classic" language in Lai Ching-te's Tainan Political Opinion Presentation
Reporter : Hong Ruiqin / https://news.ltn.com.tw/news/politics/breakingnews/4185432 /Image : On the eve of the by-election vote for the chairman of the Democratic Progressive Party, the candidate, Vice President Lai Ching-teh, had his last political opinion meeting in Tainan on the evening of the 14th. In-depth review and reflection. (Photo by reporter Hong Ruiqin)
Vice President Lai Ching-te, a by-election candidate for the chairmanship of the Democratic Progressive Party, held his final political speech in Tainan in the evening of 14 January 2023. All Party and public officials in Tainan are required to conduct in-depth self-reflection, and the popular slang term "shock" the audience has also become a topic of chatter among supporters after the meeting.
Lai Ching-te said that Tainan has been in constant turmoil and has become a place where people all over the country point and point fingers, making grassroots party members and supporters sad. Yes, Tainan citizens know how many hairs Shirikawa has, so how can there be any conditions to talk about black gold?" Then the mayor Huang Weizhe, 6 legislators and councilors present were named, and everyone stood up and bowed and apologized, receiving warm applause from the supporters present.
"How many hairs does Shirikawa (Taiwanese for the buttocks) have?" The crowd chatted in private, "There is something in the words, who are you talking about?" Some people joked with each other: "How many hairs do you have on your body?", "The most important thing tonight classic".
A legislator said that when he first heard this sentence, it was "very fierce, really frightening." Tainan is the birthplace of Lai Ching-te's political career, and the personnel, location and features are very clear. He just named Tainan's "chaotic source" and "black gold" and said it clearly. Another legislator said that Lai Ching-te spoke for more than 40 minutes in Tainan, which was longer than other places, which shows how heavy his heart is. Only the most common slang can be used to make the grassroots listen. In fact, it is also a wake-up call for party officials, "If there is black gold, it will be discarded."
Some legislators also pointed out that there are many controversies in Tainan at this time, and party members enthusiastically participated in the briefing, which shows that they still have confidence in the party's reform.
Legislator Wang Dingyu said, "Don’t forget the glory of Tainan’s holy land of democracy. The glory of Tainan has always been there. It is “people” who have fallen. It is not the supporters or friends who help to speak out on the Internet, but the “party” with power. "Public office", look at the selfless support of supporters, do not do things that hurt their hearts, "Anything that violates the law, discipline, or basic beliefs must be dealt with as it should be dealt with."

Biden's "document gate" has made new progress! Will it affect the president's re-election campaign?
According to comprehensive foreign media reports, the White House said on the 14th that Biden's aides found more classified documents in his Delaware home this week, which brought the total number of documents discovered this week to six pages. Biden's "document gate" incident continues to ferment, and Democrats are increasingly worried that this will have a huge impact on his re-election campaign.

According to the "Washington Post" report, White House counsel Richard Sauber found 5 pages of confidentially marked documents at Biden's home in Wilmington, Delaware on the 14th.
"Because I have a security clearance, I went to Wilmington on the evening of the 14th to provide the Justice Department with documents previously found by the president's personal lawyer," Sauber said. "When I turned it over to the Justice Department official who was with me, five more pages were found that were 'marked confidential', for a total of six pages, and the Justice Department officer who was with me immediately took them away."
The White House also confirmed on 14 January that Biden's aides discovered more classified documents at his Delaware home this week, bringing the total number of documents discovered this week to six pages.
According to people familiar with the matter, these additional documents were discovered after the White House issued a statement on the 12th. The statement said only that a page of classified documents was found in a storage area near the garage of Biden's Wilmington home and that Justice Department staff had gone to retrieve it.
The White House has come under fire for its handling of the classified documents, including why the findings were not disclosed earlier and why, while some were found in Biden's office, it did not say more were found in his home.
Biden's lead personal attorney, Bob Bauer, said in a statement that Biden's legal team tried to strike a balance between transparency and "established norms and constraints required to protect the integrity of the investigation."

Democrats worry about impacting president's re-election bid
At the same time, Democrats are increasingly worried that the controversy surrounding classified documents will have a huge impact on Biden's re-election campaign.
The "Capitol Hill" stated that the Biden team privately wanted to know how Biden explained the "Document Gate" incident, and compared it with Hillary's email controversy that year. Democrats fear a repeat of the Hillary email controversy. That caused more anxiety as the Justice Department appointed a special prosecutor to look into the matter.
According to a Reuters report, Republicans on the House Judiciary Committee wrote to Attorney General Garland on 13 January that the Justice Department's appointment of Robert Hull as a special adviser to Biden's confidential documents case raised "basic oversight issues." , They asked the Department of Justice, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the White House and Biden's lawyers to provide relevant documents and communications by 27 January 2023.
James Comer, chairman of the House Oversight Committee, also sent a letter to the White House earlier on 13 January, asking whether Biden's son Hunter had access to the confidential documents found in Biden's home.
Republicans in the U.S. House of Representatives have launched multiple investigations into the Biden administration, including the Justice Department's handling of the case of improper storage of classified documents during Biden's tenure as vice president, and the hasty withdrawal of U.S. troops from Afghanistan.

Chairman of the US House of Representatives "Committee on the CCP": We need to be alert to the threat of the CCP
Reporter : Wang Xiang / Editor : Sun Yun / https://www.epochtimes.com/gb/23/1/15/n13907244.htm / Image : The picture shows the file photo of U.S. Congressman Mike Gallagher (Mike Gallagher). (Anna Moneymaker/Getty Images)
The chairman of the newly established Committee on the CCP in the U.S. House of Representatives stated that their main task is to tell the American people to be alert to the threat of the CCP and communicate clearly and actively with the people U.S. stakes in China’s strategic competition and exposing the Chinese Communist Party’s global domination strategy.
On 10 January 2023, the new U.S. House of Representatives voted 365 to 65 to break partisanship and pass a resolution to establish the "Special Committee on Strategic Competition between the United States and the Chinese Communist Party" (referred to as the "Committee on the Chinese Communist Party") to deal with the conflict between the United States and China. It is a tricky challenge.
Congressman Mike Gallagher (Republican), who chairs the committee, said in an interview with Breitbart News on Saturday (14th) that China under the CCP is the "biggest threat the United States currently faces."
He said the committee would focus on "elevating the discussion about China and injecting a sense of urgency into it," noting that members of Congress have not done enough in the past to communicate clearly and positively with the American people, for example, by failing to articulate to Americans why it is important to pay attention to the threat from the Chinese Communist Party.
“Why should people in Wisconsin in the Northeast care about the threat posed by the Chinese Communist Party, and why is it the greatest threat our country faces right now? We have to answer that why. That’s what the committee is going to do,” he explained.
"It's easy for some Americans to say, (China is) that's pretty far away, why should we care? Who cares if China becomes the dominant power in Asia... I'll tell you, the Las Vegas rules don't fit ( China), what happens in Taiwan does not stay in Taiwan. Likewise what happens in China does not stay in China." Gallagher said.
He explained that the Chinese Communist Party's ambition is "the victory of world socialism with Chinese characteristics" and "means the demise or extreme decline of the capitalist system of the free world headed by the United States."
“So getting people to understand the competitive stakes (of the U.S. strategy against China) and the Chinese Communist Party’s strategy for global domination will be a key challenge and one of the tasks of our special committee on China,” he said.
Gallagher said China-related legislation has often been referred to several committees for review in the past, and the new committee will help ensure that good ideas don't fall through the cracks of committee buck-passing, and bad ones don't. will flow out of Congress.
He added that the committee would also look at "niche" issues that no one had noticed.
"For example, the banning of TikTok is closely related to the broader issue of cross-border data flow. The issue of the Chinese Communist Party's police station on US soil is also something that has been brought to our attention." Gallagher named these two specific issues. At the same time, he also wants to focus on China's global influence initiative and the United States' defense of Taiwan.
Gallagher said the committee hopes to hold a series of hearings on the topics of "how we got China wrong" and "false assumptions about the Chinese Communist Party and how they should affect future policy" The voice of the victim, and the holding of TikTok hearings, etc.
Gallagher also said the committee would be prepared to issue subpoenas if necessary.
"There are a lot of areas where we can have a really unique and immediate impact," he added.

Pompeo clarifies Trump policy in interview with University of Chicago

"The media said that Trump advocated 'U.S. isolation', which is completely contrary to the facts." Former US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said at the University of Chicago School of Political Science. He also said that Trump and previous presidents have done differently. They have not started a war in four years, but have reached a peace agreement.
Image : On 12 January 2023, Pompeo, who served in the Trump administration (Director of the CIA in 2017; Secretary of State from 2018 to 2020), accepted an interview with Zeenat Rahman, Executive Director of the Institute of Politics at the University of Chicago. (Tang Mingjing/The Epoch Times)
On 12 January 2023, Pompeo, who served as Secretary of State and Director of the CIA during the Trump administration, was interviewed at the Institute of Politics at the University of Chicago. In response to hundreds of professors, students and people in the audience, Pompeo responded to the outside world's questions about the Trump administration's policies one by one, including foreign policy, the withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan, the Congressional incident on January 6, Trump's many practices, etc. The following is part of the interview.
News (10)
The Trump model: Using strength to create peace
Zeenat Rahman, executive director of the University of Chicago's Institute of Politics, opened by asking: "Do you see your foreign policy as interventionist or isolationist?"
"There are always labels," Pompeo said with a soft sigh, "but we're focused on creating a deterrence rather than sending 50,000 or 100,000 American soldiers somewhere, which is also in line with President Trump's Promises in the campaign."
"Unlike President Bush Jr., who sent troops to Iraq, or other presidents, we are different from previous presidents, no matter what party they are. So our policies are non-partisan. Our model is to use strength to make peace" ( create peace through strength)."
“It’s a little more difficult to do. Especially as Secretary of State, I have a strong U.S. military behind me. But we’ve brought our troops down in Afghanistan from 50,000 to 2,500, and we’re all down in other parts of the Middle East.” We acted decisively and did not cause a war. Remember, many people said that Trump will start World War III. Many times we have acted, people have said that we will start a war, such as when we put the United States (in Israel) embassy moved from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, every minute someone said 'there will be a war' and it didn't."
"(Obama administration) Secretary of State Kerry once said: There can be no peace without solving the Palestine issue. But we have reached a peace agreement without solving the Palestine issue."

American isolationism? Pompeo: Work hard to make international institutions work together to deal with communism
Raman asked again, when the Trump administration claimed to withdraw from international institutions, "We in the academic circles think this is 'American isolationism'. As the Secretary of State, how do you negotiate with diplomats from other countries?"
Pompeo responded: "It is the media who describe us as 'America alone' (America alone), which is actually far from what we really do. We have clearly stated that our mission is to serve the American people." "When I meet the prime minister of Bangladesh, he also said 'put Bangladesh first', didn't he?" "Leaders are first and foremost accountable to the people who put them in power, or to the state institutions that empower them."
"In fact, in many international competitions, the interests of the United States are not among them. For example, in Europe, we try hard to lobby European countries to invest more money in NATO (NATO) to strengthen national defense. This is completely different from 'the United States withdrawing from NATO'. For a rich country like Germany, which contributes less than 1% of its GDP to fund NATO, the consequences will be serious. There is no American interest in this.”
"Another example is in Asia, we have restarted the QUAD (Quadruple Partners: United States, Australia, Japan, India) to help the Indo-Pacific region resist the threat of the CCP. American interests are not in it. Of course, we know that all countries in the world look to the United States to lead the way, we also want countries to fulfill their responsibilities."
In his speech at the Heritage Foundation in March 2022, Pompeo also responded to outside doubts about the Trump administration's withdrawal from international institutions and multilateral talks. "Some people say that the Trump administration has betrayed friends and allies and opposed international multilateralism. I have been in office for four years and have never seen this happen."
"What I see is this: We try to make these international institutions work and be more effective. If NATO member countries don't spend money to build their own defense, NATO is not very useful; if the United Nations cannot deliver on its promises to the world , the United Nations is meaningless; WHO (World Health Organization) has one mission at a critical juncture: to prevent a global pandemic of plague. But at that moment, WHO backed down and let Xi Jinping direct his own actions.”
In a speech at the Heritage Foundation last March, Pompeo shared a story. He once asked North Korean leader Kim Jong-un a question: "What do you think if the United States withdraws its troops from South Korea?" "My subtext was, what kind of deal do you want?" Pompeo told the audience.
"Kim (Jong-un) smiled and said: 'I'm not particularly interested in this.' I thought he didn't want to disclose the major implications of this. But as I interacted with him more, it became clear to me: He put The U.S. military presence on the Korean peninsula serves as a bulwark against his real threat—the Chinese Communist Party. He knows that the U.S. presence in South Korea is not only for U.S., Japanese, and Western interests, but also for his own protection.”
"Think about it. During our many talks with Kim Jong-un, including the three summit meetings with President Trump, Kim did not meet us right away. Instead, he first communicated with Xi Jinping to obtain his instructions. Outside analysis said, oh , Kim and Xi work closely together. I think a more accurate analysis would be: Kim Jong-un knows that the CCP also threatens his sovereignty. If he loses power, it will not come from the United States, nor from South Korea, but Xi Jinping believes that China has a little more territory on the border , A little less freedom is exactly what the CCP wants. If you look at Hong Kong, Tibet or Xinjiang, you will know that the CCP wants Kim Jong-un to obey completely.”
Pompeo emphasized in the conclusion in March 2022, "We have no intention of destroying international institutions but hope that they can deal with the current situation. Especially for the CCP, these international institutions are facing challenges."

Members of the U.S. Congress asked the FBI to take action to stop the Chinese Communist Party’s overseas police stations
Image : The picture shows the file photo of U.S. Senator Rick Scott. (Saul Loeb/AFP via Getty Images)
Following the news that the FBI raided the CCP’s overseas police station in New York, members of the U.S. Congress demanded that the government take immediate action to end the CCP’s illegal activities .
Florida Republican Senator Rick Scott sent a letter to the director of the FBI on Friday (13 January 2023), demanding that these violations of U.S. sovereignty be taken action, and at the same time proposed that the FBI and the State Department Cooperate and publish the list of CCP’s overseas police stations.
The "New York Times" on Thursday (12 January) quoted people familiar with the matter as saying that FBI counterintelligence agents searched the "Fujian Changle Guild" building in New York's Chinatown last fall as part of an ongoing criminal investigation by the U.S. Attorney's Office in Brooklyn.
The U.S. FBI raid is the world's first such police station to collect material. Officials in Ireland, Canada and the Netherlands are now calling on Beijing to halt policing in their countries. According to the latest report by Safeguard Defenders, a non-governmental human rights organization, the Chinese police currently have at least 102 "overseas police service centers" in foreign countries.
The CCP embassy in Washington once again played down the role of overseas police stations, saying that they are volunteers who help Chinese citizens with daily tasks such as renewing their driver's licenses.
However, the CCP’s official news media reported that the real-name participants mentioned were CCP police officers and local officials. For example, some reports claim that overseas police stations are “gathering intelligence” and uncovering foreign crimes while bypassing local police.
The report sparked widespread concern among members of both houses of Congress.
Scott tweeted Friday that after seeing disturbing reports of illegal police operations by the Chinese Communist Party on U.S. soil, "I am writing to FBI Director Wray to demand immediate action to end these illegal and illegal action."
Under the guise of helping Chinese citizens living abroad with administrative procedures and travel, the sites, run by Chinese Communist Party front groups, are actually helping to track Chinese citizens and send them back to China for criminal prosecution, he said.
"These extraterritorial police actions by the Chinese Communist Party violate the sovereignty of the United States and pose a serious threat to our national security," Scott said. A rogue operation by an affiliated group."
"Additionally, I urge you to work with the State Department to identify and post on a publicly accessible website a list of countries known to resemble CCP-operated 'Overseas Police Service Centers' so Americans can make informed decisions before traveling abroad .”

Senators vow to do more to combat CCP China's long-arm threat
"The Chinese (Chinese Communist Party) government wants to gain more influence and expand their transnational policing," Chen Yanting, a Taiwanese researcher who worked on the "Protection Guardian" report, told The New York Times.
"Such long-arm power is telling Chinese domestic citizens that their government is extremely powerful. We have the ability to reach the whole world. Even if you go abroad, you are still under our control." He said.
In response, Jim Risch, the top-ranking Republican on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, tweeted Friday: "If you think you're not in China so you're not influenced by the Chinese Communist Party, think again want an answer."
"China is setting up police stations around the world and targeting those who disagree with the party," he said. "We must do more to protect those on U.S. soil from the long arm of the Chinese government influences."
Michael McCaul, a Republican on the House Foreign Affairs Committee, also tweeted: "The Republican-led House will oppose CCP China for its illegal actions on U.S. soil that violate U.S. sovereignty and liberties protected by the U.S. Constitution. --zero tolerance."

Salary cuts erupt across China. The era of "post-CCP" is coming soon
Editor : Zhongkang / https://www.aboluowang.com/2023/0115/1855227.html
After the mainland's covid epidemic is lifted, it is hoped that the economy will gradually recover, but the outside world believes that the Chinese economy still faces huge uncertainties in the short term. Yaita Akio, director of the Taipei branch of the Japanese media "Sankei Shimbun", posted a PO article on Facebook on 14 January 2023. He observed the controversy caused by a salary cut in Shandong, China, and looked at the changes in China's economic and political situation. He believes that in all parts of China, the tide of salary cuts broke out may hint that "China's post-CCP era" will soon come.
Akio Yata pointed out on Facebook that the official Weibo of the Tourism Bureau of Zhangqiu District, Jinan City, Shandong Province, China posted a message at 6 pm on January 12, which caused a storm. The content of Weibo is as follows: "Extremely good news, warmly celebrate the Zhangqiu Culture and Tourism Bureau becoming the leader in Zhangqiu's salary reduction. Although there has never been a salary increase, the salary reduction must be the front line. Congratulations! "
Yaita Akio said the tweet was deleted a few hours later, but it has been widely retweeted and even featured in international media. The Zhangqiu District Tourism Bureau official said afterwards that the relevant content was written by "non-compiled staff". Non-staff personnel do have salary cuts, but official government staff "does not have the problem of salary cuts."
Yaba Akio pointed out that in China, whenever something goes wrong, the government often shifts the responsibility to "temporary workers" and "non-staff personnel". However, according to common sense in China, official publications on this kind of official website are generally confirmed by editors and approved by superior leaders. Among the hundreds of thousands of official microblogs in China, such accidents have rarely occurred in the past. Because, posting such words on the government's official Weibo, the political risk is quite large.
Yaita Akio further analyzed that this incident can explain at least two issues: First, the conflicts caused by the salary reduction of civil servants in various parts of China have intensified. Second, grassroots officials in China have begun to "lay flat" and are not as responsible as they used to be.
In fact, after the "dynamic clearing" policy implemented by the Chinese government in the past few years, local governments, at the request of the central government, have invested most of their funds in "nucleic acid testing" that has no economic effect. The phenomenon that civil servants in various parts of China have been cut or even not paid is already quite serious. For example, it was reported this summer that public hospitals in Liaoning Province had not paid salaries for five months, and Zhejiang Province and Shanghai City successively issued announcements saying that civil servants’ salaries had been reduced by 30%. Recently, there is news that civil servants who received about 20,000 RMB a month plus bonuses a few years ago have now reduced their monthly salary to about 5,000 RMB, which is less than the monthly mortgage repayment. Everyone is looking forward to the epidemic passing quickly and the salary can be raised back. However, depending on the financial situation of each local government, the possibility of a salary correction is extremely remote. Civil servants who do not get paid high will naturally not work hard.
Yaita Akio said that Mr. Kuang, a strategic writer, published a book called "China after the CCP" not long ago. He put forward such a point of view: When more than 80% of the local governments in China have financial deficits at the same time, and the central government is unable to provide relief, and the situation lasts for two years, and the order does not come out of Zhongnanhai, it can be called "post-CCP". Seeing the tide of salary cuts across China today, maybe the "post-CCP era in China" is coming soon.

The top level of the CCP is unfathomable, Xi Jinping suddenly found himself weakened
Has Xi Jinping's authority been undermined after the sudden end of his zero-covid policy? To this end, French domestic radio station (France Info) published an article titled "Why is the invincible Xi Jinping suddenly weakened?" on 14 January. The article interviewed three experts on CCP China issues. Some experts believe that the Communist regime is in danger; some experts said that the three-year famine killed tens of millions of people in China but the regime of the Communist Party of China has not been shaken. Ms. Stéphanie BALME, a senior researcher at Paris Politics Institute, believes that the CCP’s top leaders are unfathomable, and it is difficult to predict what will happen in the future.
At the beginning of this article, it was written: Xi Jinping can be said to be invincible in the world, and he suddenly found himself weakened. In October 2022, his power reached its peak. He thought that he could be re-elected for a third term in March 2023 to consolidate his power, but the chaos brought about by the white paper movement and the clearing reversal made things more and more unpredictable . On January 14, the CCP officially reported the covid death toll: nearly 60,000 people died of the epidemic in one month. French journalists said that on 11 January 2023, World Health Organization Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said at a routine epidemic briefing that China had underreported the number of covid deaths.

The underestimated covid tally data weakens the CCP
A French reporter said that regardless of the number of deaths or infections, the official figures released by the CCP are greatly underestimated. This inauthenticity weakens the regime. Jean-Louis Rocca, a professor at Sciences Po in Paris, recalled: In early 2020, China was criticized by the international community for its chaotic and opaque management of the epidemic in Wuhan. Since then, China has been trying to set a good example in the management and control of the new crown epidemic. Soon China formulated a triple formula of "testing, tracking, and isolation". It can be said that at the beginning, large-scale screening and isolation greatly reduced the number of infections.
Jean-Louis Rocca went on to write: "At a time when there are large-scale covid cases in Europe and the United States, the CCP government cannot hold back his "sense of superiority". The French expert also said, "The zero-covid policy once showed the world that China is doing better than other European and American countries; not only that, it also showed the Chinese people that the country has the ability to protect your governance capabilities."

CCP ignored science and reality
Steve Tsang of the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London, said in an interview with French domestic reporters: The situation has changed in 2021. Western countries began to vaccinate people against covid, and then gradually relaxed the practice of closing cities, and CCP China continues to adhere to the zero-covid policy. Steve Tsang of SOAS, University of London, said, "From that moment on, the Chinese government has been complacent, ignoring science and reality."
News (18)
Failure of the CCP may lie in the failure of vaccination
A French reporter analyzed that the failure of the CCP authorities may lie in the failure of vaccination. According to a study published in The Lancet last April, Chinese vaccines are less effective, and Beijing has specifically rejected the use of foreign vaccines. Vaccinations for the elderly in China are also struggling. According to Reuters, by November 2022, only 68.2% of people over the age of 60 will have received three doses of the vaccine. The result is that an already saturated hospital system becomes overcrowded should a new wave of infections occur.
Zero-covid policy is "unprofessional" and "slows economic growth"
The "Huffington Post" believes that the local implementation of the zero-clearing policy is unprofessional, which makes the successive city closure policies arouse public grievances. Jean-Louis Rocca explained, "In the event of an emergency, China and local governments have the capacity to respond but dynamic clearing requires long-term and reasonable cooperation from local governments." The "Huffington Post" stated that the zero-covid policy "derailed the economy", with economic growth slowing down and unemployment increasing. These problems are either due to the limited capacity of local management; or they have not made the right choice. A French reporter said, "What Xi Jinping needs is good economic results. Without this cornerstone, there will be problems if he continues to hold power."
Protests reflect fatigue of the Chinese towards CCP policies
When analyzing the wave of protests in many cities in China, a French reporter said, "Three years of repeated dynamic resets finally made some Chinese very tired. Demonstrations erupted in several major Chinese cities, including Shanghai and Beijing, in late November, more than a month after Xi Jinping was re-elected as party chief. Jean-Louis Rocca said, "We cannot say that this kind of protest has no precedent in China, but they are all very specific, such as demolition or wage arrears." Steve Tsang of the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London added, "The White Paper movement is the first time since 1999 that demonstrators have called for the government to step down; Xi Jinping's step down, and the demands of the protest involve the overall policy of the authorities."
Pressure from the streets has led the Chinese government to make a sharp U-turn on its zero-covid policy, a decision that would have been unthinkable just a few weeks ago, two experts said. Professor Stéphanie Balme, director of research at the Center for International Studies at Paris Politics Institute and an expert on China, explained, "I have never seen a Chinese government turned upside down like this, it is really unheard of. She also said, "It also shows the fragility of the regime. When people see that for a long time, those in power have denied reality, and many people have stood up to question the regime, it is like the levee has been blown."
French journalists said the consequences of abandoning mandatory testing and isolation were quickly apparent. Hospitals and crematoria soon found themselves overwhelmed by large numbers of infected people and running out of medicines. With few people vaccinated, the Chinese have not yet developed herd immunity to the virus. The authorities found themselves unable even to estimate how severe the wave of infections would be, and the National Health Commission has stopped communicating on the issue. According to an estimate by Airfinity, a British health data analysis company, on 13 January 2023, the number of daily infections in China will reach 3.7 million, a dizzying number.

The contract between CCP and Chinese is no longer solid
Talking about citizens' trust in the government, Steve Tsang from SOAS, University of London, said, "This situation worries Chinese citizens because those who lead them ignore reality. He said that the Chinese government had three years to get things done, but they did not have any plans. Professor Stéphanie Balme, director of research at the Center for International Studies at Paris Politics Institute in Paris, said, "The trust of the people in power has been seriously questioned." She also said, "When it was cleared, the Chinese people felt that the epidemic was terrible; but now the danger of letting go of this does not exist? ! As a result, the social contract between the Communist Party and the people is no longer solid." Steve Tsang of the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London believes that the Chinese accept the Communist Party because what the people want is prosperity and protection, but now the situation is just the opposite.

Steve Tsang: The pandemic crisis is not enough to bring Xi down
In an interview under the subtitle "Is the Communist regime at stake?", Steve Tsang from the School of Oriental and African Studies at the University of London believes that the out-of-control epidemic has indeed damaged Xi Jinping's reputation but it cannot shake his position because the party and the military are both in his hands. The pandemic crisis is not enough to question him outright.
However, Jean-Louis Rocca believes, "For me, Xi Jinping is first and foremost a symbol of unity within the party. If this crisis weakens the state apparatus too much, no one will hesitate to blow it up." He also said, "In any case, it depends on whether the trust between the people and the country is still solid."
Ms. Stéphanie BALME, senior researcher at Paris Politics Institute and visiting professor at Tsinghua University Law School, believes that the Standing Committee of the Politburo is a very small and mysterious area, and we cannot predict what will happen in the future. It also depends on factors such as the New Year's Spring Festival activities at the end of January, the candidate for the prime minister, and so on.

Rocca: If 1.7 million Chinese were killed, CCP will be shaken, Tsang responded
Jean-Louis Rocca said that whether the Chinese people will express their dissatisfaction on a large scale depends on how the epidemic develops. If the outbreak kills 1.7 million people, as the British health data analysis company Airfinity predicts, it will shake Xi Jinping's regime.
However, Steve Tsang of SOAS, University of London, takes a conservative view. He said: The epidemic itself cannot shake Xi's regime. He said: The three-year famine caused 40 million deaths. Isn’t the Communist Party still in power? !

Rocca: Employment and satisfaction of life affect future choices of Chinese
Jean-Louis Rocca, a professor at Sciences Po in Paris, finally said: Chinese people are not only thinking about covid, there are other factors that determine their trust. When the economy will recover, what the employment situation will be, and the satisfaction of the middle class and the grassroots with the government will all affect the future choices of the Chinese people. Professor Stéphanie Balme, concluded, "If the economy does not recover, the Chinese may lose confidence that our country's government is doing better than others, which "may create a completely incompetent situation and lead to predicted consequences".

Nepal Yeti Air, a passenger plane carrying 72 passengers from Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal, to Pokhara, crashed in (Seti River Gorge) near Pokhara on 15 January 2023. Foreign media pointed out that at least 67 people were killed, and two survivors who were seriously injured have been found. This is the deadliest passenger plane crash in Nepal in the past five years.
According to comprehensive foreign media reports, the plane that crashed was an ATR72 passenger plane that was 15 years old. There were 68 passengers and 4 crew members on board. Among them were 15 foreign tourists from South Korea, India, Australia and other countries. It was the deadliest accident in Nepal since a plane crash in March 2018 that killed 51 people.
Local officials pointed out that the wreckage of the plane was on fire, and rescuers had arrived on the scene to extinguish the fire. Rescue operations are currently underway. It can also be seen from the picture that thick black smoke is rising from the crash site, and hundreds of police and firefighters and local people are in the process of rescue. A police officer pointed out that the plane was burning and it was difficult for rescuers to reach the crash site in the canyon. The Indian media Republic World pointed out that two seriously injured survivors were found at the scene and rushed to the hospital for treatment.
A local resident witnessed the current situation of the crash. He said that after the plane began to shake and move left and right, the fuselage suddenly dived and rushed into the canyon.

The CCP’s compilation of the death toll of the epidemic reveals flaws
Image : On 13 January 2023, pedestrians pass by an inflatable rabbit model on the streets of Wuhan. On 14 January, the CCP suddenly released relevant data such as the death toll from the recent epidemic, but revealed a lot of flaws. (Getty Images)
On 14 January 2023, the National Health Commission of the Communist Party of China suddenly announced that from 8 December 2022 to 12 January 2023, there will be a total of cases related to the new coronavirus infection in hospitals across the country. There were 59,938 deaths. The CCP claims that the death case information reporting platform of medical institutions was put into use from 31 December 2022. Where the death toll before 31 December 2022 comes from has become a mystery, and the death toll before 8 December 2022 is still blank.
In addition to the death toll, the CCP has also newly compiled other epidemic data, which also revealed a lot of flaws. The CCP experts should have been instructed by the higher-ups to temporarily piece together epidemic data for the CCP to promote the "victory" of epidemic prevention. However, they are not good at epidemic prevention, nor are they good at compiling data.

The death toll from the epidemic fabricated by the CCP is about half that of Beijing
On 14 January 2023, the National Health Commission presided over a press conference. Jiao Yahui, director of the Department of Medical Affairs of the Health and Medical Commission, said, "The analysis shows that from 8 December 2022 to 12 January 2023, a total of 59,938 deaths related to novel coronavirus infection occurred in hospitals across the country, including 5,503 deaths from respiratory failure caused by novel coronavirus infection, there were 54,435 deaths from underlying diseases combined with novel coronavirus infection."
No one really knows the exact number of people who have died in the recent epidemic. It is afraid no one will believe the 59,938 deaths fabricated by the CCP. Jiao Yahui, director of the Department of Medical Affairs of the National Health and Medical Commission, insisted that since 2020, CCP China has always insisted on judging the death cases with positive nucleic acid of the novel coronavirus as death cases related to the novel coronavirus infection. This standard is basically consistent with the judgment standards of the World Health Organization and other major countries.
Some people on the Internet have already calculated the death toll of the recent epidemic in Beijing. The death toll in hospitals across the country announced by the CCP should be lower than the death toll in Beijing alone.
The cremation capacity of funeral homes in Beijing is 3,600 per day, and the average number of normal deaths in Beijing is about 330 per day. From 8 December 2022 to 12 January 2023, during these 36 days, it is not easy for family members to line up for the cremation of the deceased. Not counting the number of people transferred to crematoriums around Beijing, the funeral homes in Beijing alone should have cremated 3,600 people X 36 days = 129,600 people, and the number of natural deaths in the same period should be 330 people X 36 days = 11,900 people; the number of deaths due to the epidemic should be at least 129,600 people ‒ 11,900 people = 117,700 people.
The actual number is estimated to be even higher. On 23 December 2022, foreign media reported that Beijing issued an "urgent notice" requiring funeral homes in suburban counties in Beijing to "emergency expand" their cremation capacity and put them into operation within a week to eliminate the need for cremation in Beijing and surrounding areas and the "negative impact" caused by the large backlog of corpses.
The CCP’s newly compiled national death toll of 59,900 from the recent epidemic should be only about half of the death toll in Beijing. Authoritative organizations predict that one million or more people may die in China in this wave of the epidemic, but the actual number is estimated to be much higher.

Data mysteries for December 2022
Jiao Yahui, Director of the Department of Medical Affairs of the Health Commission, admitted, "We organized and developed a death case information reporting platform for medical institutions, which will be put into use on 31 December 2022. Starting from 31 December 2022, medical institutions will report daily the death cases related to the covi infection of the previous day."
It can be seen that from 31 December 2022, only medical institutions began to report the death data of the epidemic, and those who died of the epidemic outside the hospital were ignored. Before 31 December 2022, the CCP had not established a death case information reporting platform for medical institutions, or in other words, the CCP did not allow reporting and statistics of death data at all.
Jiao Yahui explained, "We require medical institutions to collect, summarize and report the death cases related to the covi infection from 8 December 2022 to 29 December 2022. Due to the relatively large amount of data and information...we organized experts to conduct a systematic analysis of the death cases, so it took a long time."
This shows that the top leaders of the Communist Party of China did not allow medical institutions to report the data of deaths from the epidemic, and actually did not allow the death of patients to be determined as covid. The National Health Commission of the Communist Party of China has no clue about the epidemic data from 8 December to 29 December 2022. Experts did not put their minds on epidemic prevention, but now they are spending time fabricating data in accordance with the instructions of the higher authorities. It is not known if the CCP experts dare to publish the daily epidemic data and curves during this period, and if so, it will take more effort to compile.
On 8 December 2022, the National Health Commission announced 3,588 local cases; on 18 December 18, it dropped to 1,918 while on 23 December 2022, the last announced number rose back to 4,103.
The order from the top of the CCP should only allow the fabrication of data after 8 December 2022, and the data before 8 December is still not allowed to be touched. At that time, it was still in the "clearing" stage, and no one was allowed to question it. What the CCP fabricated was not epidemic data, but political data.
On 1 December 2022, the National Health Commission announced 4,233 local cases, which were still in the "dynamic clearing" stage; after the CCP relaxed the "dynamic clearing" on 7 December, the announced local cases dropped instead. It is not known how the CCP experts will explain it.
At this time, the CCP announced the newly fabricated death toll of 59,900. On the surface, it was to deal with doubts from the outside world. In fact, the CCP was preparing to declare the "victory" of epidemic prevention. In addition to the death data, the CCP also fabricated a series of new epidemic data.

The Chinese Communist Party claims that the peak of the epidemic has passed
Jiao Yahui, Director of the Department of Medical Affairs of the National Health and Medical Commission of the Communist Party of China, said, "The number of fever clinics nationwide peaked on 23 December 2022, at 2.867 million visits, and then continued to decline, falling back to 477,000 visits on 12 January. The number decreased by 83.3% at the peak... At present, the number of people visiting fever clinics and clinics in all provinces, autonomous regions, municipalities and Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps has shown an overall downward trend after peaking, and rural areas have also shown a downward trend."
The CCP defines the peak of the national epidemic as 23 December 2022, which is also the last day that the National Health Commission of the CCP will release the epidemic data on a daily basis. As of 14 January 2023, three weeks have passed. This is obviously to create momentum for the CCP to promote the "victory" of epidemic prevention.
Jiao Yahui said, "At present, medical institutions above the second level have opened a total of 16,400 fever clinics, and primary medical and health institutions have opened 43,100 fever clinics or fever clinics."
According to this figure, there are a total of 16,400 + 43,100 = 59,500 fever clinics and consultation rooms at all levels. If the number of consultations on 12 January was 477,000, the average number of visits per clinic should be 477,000/59,500 = 8.02. This number is probably less than the normal number of patients with fever and cold. Doctors should have nothing to do most of the time. Is this really the truth on 12 January?
Jiao Yahui said, "The detection rate of covi-positive infections in fever clinics has also continued to decline. The peak was 33.9% on 20 December, and it dropped to 10.8% on 12 January. This trend shows that the peak of fever clinics has passed."
If these figures are true, then the main cause of hospital overcrowding is not the covid epidemic but other epidemic diseases that also cause fever symptoms. Are there other epidemics more serious than covid? The CCP experts did not give any explanation.
The latest data fabricated by the CCP directly negates the previously released data. According to the newly released data, the number of diagnosis and treatment of fever clinics nationwide will reach its peak on 23 December 2022, at 2.867 million person-times; 2.867 million person-times X 10.8% = 30.96 million people. On 23 December 2022, the National Health Commission announced that there were only 4,103 cases of local infection. Only the new data of fever clinics was at least 7.5 times the original number, and there were even more mild patients who did not go to the hospitals. The CCP tried to cover up the lies of the past with new lies, but exposed the lies of the past.
CCP experts are eager to fabricate data to match the propaganda that the peak of the epidemic has passed but the relevant data seriously lacks logic.

Data that is difficult to justify
Jiao Yahui, Director of the Department of Medical Administration of the National Health Commission of the Communist Party of China, said, "The emergency situation has generally shown a continuous downward trend after peaking. The number of emergency visits nationwide peaked at 1.526 million on 2 January 2023, and then continued to decline, falling to 1.092 million on 12 January, a drop of 28.4% from the peak. This data shows that the national emergency peak has passed."
The emergency data given by the CCP does not seem to have changed very significantly. The corridors of the emergency rooms of major hospitals should still be full of hospital beds.
Jiao Yahui also said, "The detection rate of covi-positive patients in the emergency room dropped steadily from a peak of 8.8% on 22 December to 2.9% on 12 January."
The proportion of covid patients in the emergency department is even less than that in the fever clinic. If this data is true, more than 90% of the patients in the emergency corridor of the hospital were not covid patients at the peak; by 12 January, 97% of the emergency patients were not covid patients.
Recently, the emergency rooms of various hospitals have been overcrowded. If most of them are not patients with covid, it once again shows that an epidemic far stronger than covid has occurred during the same period but the CCP experts still have no explanation. It is not known if a new mutant virus has already been produced and has become a more important infection strain, and the hospitals are unable to detect it, or experts are afraid to say.
The CCP has always insisted that there are no new variants of the virus but it cannot explain why the number of patients other than covid has surged. The above data is really hard to justify.
Jiao Yahui said, "The number of critically ill patients currently in hospital is still at a high level. On 5 January 2023, the number of covi-positive critically ill patients in the hospital peaked at 128,000, and then continued to fluctuate and decline. By 12 January, the number of covi-positive severe patients in the hospital fell back to 105,000."
If the data on critically ill patients is true, indicating that there has not been a significant decline, it is still difficult to judge whether the peak of the epidemic has passed. However, severe patients are still in the hospitals, and it is very difficult for the hospitals to conceal them. In the past month or so, whether the patients were finally cured and discharged or died of illness, the number of new severe patients has actually been increasing.

Old people cannot be covi-positive as early as possible
Jiao Yahui, Director of the Department of Medical Affairs of the National Health Commission of the Communist Party of China, said, "89.6% of patients with severe covi infection are 60 years old and above."
Wang Huaqing, chief expert of the immunization program of the China CDC, said, "The elderly have a characteristic. The older they are, the higher the risk of severe disease and the higher the risk of death... It is necessary to adopt non-vaccine prevention and control measures to prevent the elderly from being infected as much as possible and get a certain degree of protection."
After the CCP relaxed the "dynamic clearing", it publicized that infection with covid is like a small cold. Regardless of the cost of life, the collapse of the medical system, and the lack of medical care for the common people, the CCP claims that covi-positivity will recover early but it is not feasible for the elderly.
CCP experts have to admit that domestically produced vaccines are not effective for the elderly, and the elderly can only try to reduce the infection as much as possible. However, when most people around are infected, and families have to reunite during the Chinese New Year, it is actually difficult for the elderly to avoid infection. The CCP should have known that the elderly cannot get well soon, and the CCP has long regarded the elderly as a price that can be sacrificed.

Infected patients in rural areas are even worse
Jiao Yahui, director of the Department of Medical Affairs of the National Health and Medical Commission of the Communist Party of China, said, " As of 12 January, more than 5,000 secondary medical institutions, designated hospitals, and sub-designated hospitals in the county have admitted a total of 301,000 covi-infected patients, accounting for 20% of all covi-infected patients. 23.7%... There are 15,800 severe covi-positive cases in the county, accounting for 15.1% of the national total."
Rural medical conditions are poor, and the number of patients who can be treated is limited, only reaching 23.7% of the country; the number of severe patients who can be treated is even lower, only 15.1%. More rural patients can only fend for themselves. It is afraid that remote and impoverished areas cannot even do nucleic acid testing. Rural medical institutions should be able to count fewer deaths, and CCP officials simply do not need to count and report. Rural patients are another big price that the CCP regards as expendable.
Jiao Yahui said, "Rural two-level medical and health institutions are the first line of defense for rural epidemic prevention and control and medical treatment...Arrange shift rotation, temporary recruitment, organize secondary and third-level hospitals to dispatch, mutual assistance and other methods to stabilize and expand grassroots medical and health institutions team of people."
This is probably empty talk. Wen Daxiang, director of the Shanghai Municipal Health and Health Commission, revealed that Shanghai Community Health Service Center has opened 2,881 consultation rooms...nearly 18,000 medical staff from internal medicine, pediatrics, and emergency departments have been organized to receive training on severe treatment, and they will be recruited in a mixed group as a supplementary force for the critical care echelon.
In Shanghai, which has the highest level of medical conditions, there are not enough medical personnel in the city, and there is no one to support the countryside. Jiao Yahui said, "The drug allocation situation in township health centers continues to improve, and the tight drug allocation situation has been alleviated to a large extent...Relevant departments are providing each village clinic with 2 finger pulse oxygen free of charge...We are working with relevant departments to study for each Township health centers distribute oxygen generators free of charge...Each township health center must be equipped with at least one ambulance."
The personnel, medicines, and equipment in rural medical institutions are far from enough to deal with the epidemic, and the situation after the Spring Festival travel season is even less optimistic.
The traditional Chinese New Year is approaching, the CCP lies flat and does nothing, but suddenly fabricates fake epidemic data, once again trying to artificially create the illusion of "victory" in the fight against the epidemic. Since 12 January 2023, Xinhua News Agency has successively published articles "Xinhua Review: Always Adhere to People First and Life First—One of a Series of Reviews on my country's Three-Year Anti-epidemic Practice", "Xinhua Review: Making Scientific Decisions Based on Times and Situations— ——China's Three-Year Anti-epidemic Practice Series Review II", "Xinhua Review: Fighting a Sure Battle to Protect People's Health and Safety-my country's Three-Year Anti-epidemic Practice Series Review III".
Under the instigation of the top leaders of the CCP, CCP experts cooperated with the CCP media and tried to fool the common people but they showed too many flaws. The CCP once again treats the many funerals of ordinary people as happy events, which can only increase the anger in the hearts of the Chinese people, and this fire will burn to the CCP regime sooner or later. God has eyes, and for those who are still standing for the CCP, more retribution may come.
