Expert: Nepal crash may be related to pilot losing control of plane
According to ABC News, on 15 January 2023 local time, a passenger plane of Yeti Airlines ATR72-500 crashed. Neil Hansford, a senior Australian airline consultant, told ABC that according to reports, he believed that the crash may be due to the pilot losing control of the plane. It believes the pilot had lost control of the plane, which is why it ended up on the edge of the ridge.
Neil Hansford also said fuel was not an issue as the plane burned easily after it crashed, meaning there was obviously a lot of fuel on board. It is reported that the weather was clear when the plane crashed, and the exact cause of the plane crash is still unclear. The pilot also did not report a technical failure before the plane crashed.
Since 2000, nearly 350 people have died in plane or helicopter crashes in Nepal. Neil Hansford said that Nepal's terrain factors are "not conducive to aviation flight", that is, the height of mountains and rugged terrain seriously affect aircraft flight. It said this required a very high level of flying skill and excellent equipment.

On 16 January 2022, Nepal announced that it had found the two black boxes of the plane that crashed on 15 January 2023, and said that the wreckage of the plane was scattered in a valley 300 m deep. At the same time, the nationalities and identities of the 68 passengers on board were exposed.
On the same day, a video before the crash of the plane was also uploaded to social media, showing that the plane tilted to one side before the crash, and there was a burst of flames on the crash. Pilots and industry insiders have analyzed this.
The air crash was the worst air disaster in Nepal in the past 30 years. According to the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal, as of 17 January 2023, the bodies of 70 of the 72 people on board have been recovered. Authorities believe the chances of the other two surviving are extremely low but the rescuers are continuing to look for these bodies.

Plane crash kills 15 foreign tourists in valley
On 15 January, the ATR72-500 passenger plane of Nepal's Yeti Airlines took off from the capital Kathmandu and flew to Pokhara, a city at the foot of the Himalayas nearly 200 kilometers (125 miles) away. The flight would take only 27 minutes.
That day, the sky was clear and windy. When the plane started to land and was about to enter the airport runway in less than a minute, the accident happened.
A video obtained by The Associated Press is believed to be of the moments before the plane crashed, captured on mobile phones by passengers on board.
The video starts and the plane begins to land slowly. Buildings, roads, and trees appear in the camera, and everything looks normal. Suddenly, the plane seemed to encounter air currents and began to shake sharply, and the mobile phone screen began to shake and blur. Immediately afterwards, a flame appeared in front of the camera, the video stopped, and the suspected photographer died in the fire.
Authorities announced Monday that there were four crew members and 68 passengers on board the plane. The crew members are all Nepalese, and most of the passengers are returnees from Pokhara, as well as some tourists. Pokhara is a famous tourist city in Nepal. Many tourists who like mountaineering and hiking come to see the beauty of the Himalayas.
Among the tourists who took the flight that day, 15 held foreign nationalities, including 5 Indians, 4 Russians, and 2 South Koreans. The other four tourists are from Ireland, Australia, Argentina and France.

Plane tilted before crash
The wrecked plane only began operating the route two weeks ago. On the 15th, before arriving at the airport, the captain contacted the tower for the last time over the Seti Gorge to confirm that he was about to land.
A video taken by a nearby resident showed that the plane suddenly tilted to the left at low altitude and seemed to continue to fly forward as it brushed against residential buildings.
Witness Diwas Bohora told the Associated Press that the plane tilted towards the ground, and the moment it hit the ground, red flames ignited from the plane, and the ground vibrated violently.
Veteran Indian pilot Amit Singh told The Associated Press he believed the plane had lost power, as can be inferred from the video.
Another pilot of an ATR72 passenger plane who often flies on the India-Nepal route said that Nepal is full of mountains and valleys, and pilots cannot rely on on-board instruments for automatic driving. They must use their own eyes to observe the situation. to ensure flight safety. In addition, the ATR72 aircraft is not easy to control, requiring the pilot to be familiar with the terrain and wind speed, and to have high flying skills.
Eight of the world's 14 tallest mountains are located partly or fully in Nepal, including Mount Everest.
On 16 January 2023, hundreds of people gathered outside Pokhara Western Hospital of Health Science Research Institute, waiting to claim the remains of relatives and friends who died in the air crash.

Anju lost her husband, who was also a Yeti Airlines co-pilot, in a plane crash on 21 June 2006, 16 years ago. Sixteen years ago, Yeti Airlines' 9N AEQ plane crashed en route from Nepalganj to Jumla via Surkhet, killing six passengers and four crew members, one of whom was Anju's husband.
According to reports, over the past 10 years, Anju has accumulated rich piloting experience and has successfully landed at almost all airports in Nepal. In the morning of 15 January, she and her coach flew the ATR72-500 passenger plane together. If the passenger plane lands smoothly, Anju can successfully obtain the captain's license. However, she was only 10 seconds away from her goal. This was Anju's last flight as a co-pilot and also the last flight of her life.

National mourning for the crash victims on 16 January 2023
Nepal's Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal said he was "deeply saddened by this sad and tragic accident," CNN reported. This is the worst air crash in Nepal in 30 years.
"I sincerely appeal to security personnel, all agencies of the Nepalese government and the public to carry out effective rescue efforts," he tweeted. The prime minister's spokesman said the government had declared a day off on 16 January to mourn the victims.
Hundreds of rescuers were on the hillside at the crash site after the plane with 72 people on board crashed in Pokhara from the Nepalese capital Kathmandu, Reuters reported. Officials ordered a halt to the operation late 15 January and resumed on 16 January.
A local resident, Arun Tamu, who arrived at the scene minutes after the plane crashed, told Reuters: "Half of the plane is on the hillside. The other half fell into the gorge of the Seti River."

Crash report likely within 45 days
Nepal's Finance Minister Bishnu Paudel said the government has set up a team to investigate the cause of the accident and expects to submit a report within 45 days. France's Air Accident Investigation Bureau (BEA) said it would take part in the investigation into the cause of the crash, coordinating with other parties involved.
Yeti Airlines said it had canceled all routine flights on 15 January "in memory of the passengers who lost their lives."
The twin-engine turboprop model, an ATR72 from European manufacturer ATR, is widely used. According to the official website, Yeti Airlines has 6 ATR72-500 aircraft.
ATR is a joint venture between Europe's Airbus and Leonardo, which have yet to comment. "ATR's experts are fully supporting the investigation and the client," ATR said in a statement.
CNN mentioned that the ATR72-500 is a common model in the Asia-Pacific region.

Authorities said that searchers recovered the cockpit voice recorder and flight data recorder from the passenger plane that crashed in Nepal , the so-called black boxes. At least 70 people were killed in the country's worst plane crash in 30 years.
Data from the recorder may help investigators determine what caused Sunday's (January 15) crash of a Yeti Airlines flight. The weather was clear that day, and the ATR 72 passenger plane from Kathmandu to Pokhara) crashed before landing. There were 72 people on board the plane at the time, including 68 passengers and four crew members. So far, no one has survived.
Kathmandu airport official Teknath Sitaula told Reuters that both recorders were in good condition and would be sent for analysis based on the manufacturer's recommendations.
Under international aviation rules, the crash investigation agency of the country where the plane was designed and built is automatically part of the investigation.
ATR is headquartered in France and the aircraft's engines are built in Canada by Pratt & Whitney Canada.
Nepal's Civil Aviation Authority said in a statement on Monday that it had inspected all ATR72 and ATR42 aircraft operating in the country since the crash and found no technical fault in any of them.
There are currently 16 ATR72 aircraft and three ATR42 aircraft operating with various airlines in the country, an aviation authority official said.
Rescuers continued to search for unaccounted-for passengers in a river gorge on Monday, more than 24 hours after the crash. On that day, the weather was cloudy and the visibility was low, which brought inconvenience to the rescue work.
Footage captured at the crash site showed rescuers examining the charred wreckage of the plane near a mountain ravine.
Navin Acharya, an official with the Kathmandu Airport Rescue Coordination Center, said two more bodies were recovered on Monday, bringing the death toll to 70.
Earlier, according to officials from the civil aviation department of Nepal, 68 people were killed in the air crash. Acharya said further searches for the two remaining missing persons were halted as night fell and would continue on Tuesday.
All the bodies have been taken to hospital, Pokhara police official Ajay K.C. told Reuters.
Nepal has nine domestic airlines, including Yeti Airlines and its subsidiary Tara Air. According to the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN), 165 of the 359 people who have died in aviation accidents in Nepal since 2000 were lost while flying with the two airlines.
Minutes before the plane landed on Sunday, the pilot requested a runway change, which was approved, a Pokhara airport spokesman said on Monday. "We don't ask (reason), we allow a change of course as long as the pilot asks for it," said spokesman Anup Joshi.
Air crashes are often caused by a combination of factors, and an investigation could take months or longer, experts say.

White House: No record of visitors to Biden's Wilmington residence

The White House and the U.S. Secret Service said on Monday (16 January 2023) that they did not have President Joe Biden's private residence visitor records in Wilmington, Delaware. A day earlier, the chairman of the House of Representatives Oversight Committee requested the release of visitor records to investigate Biden's mishandling of classified government documents.
"Like every president in modern history for decades, his private residence is private," White House Counsel spokesman Ian Sams said in a statement. Since taking office, President Biden has restored the norms and traditions of keeping White House visitor records, including the regular release of those records, that the previous administration ended."
House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer, R-Ky., sent a letter to White House chief of staff Ron Klain on Sunday requesting visitor records at Biden's private Wilmington residence because previously, two batches of classified documents from Biden's tenure as vice president in the Obama administration were found there.
"Given the serious national security implications, the White House must provide visitor records for the Wilmington residence," Comer wrote to Klein.
The U.S. Secret Service also said on Monday that they agreed with the White House's statement.
"We do not independently maintain our visitor records because this is a private residence," said Secret Service spokesman Anthony Guglielmi, adding that for those in Wilmington and Rejo The Secret Service does conduct background checks on people who have been in contact with the Bidens at the Biden residence in Rehoboth Beach, but they will only retain the documents for a limited time.
Guglielmi also said the Secret Service would cooperate with any congressional request for information.
Comerso's request for visitor records comes after another discovery of classified documents inside the Wilmington residence. White House counsel Richard Sauber announced on Saturday (14 January) that five more pages of documents marked as classified were found in the residence. This is the third batch of classified documents discovered so far, the earliest batch was found in a former private office of Biden in Washington, DC.
After the White House and Secret Service said they could not provide visitor records, Comer vowed to keep up the pressure on the Biden administration to answer questions about the discovery of classified documents in unsecured locations.
"We will continue to press the Biden administration to answer who had access to these classified documents and why, after appointing a special prosecutor, it allowed Biden aides to roam around the Wilmington residence. Look things up," Comer said in an interview with Fox News on Monday.

U.S. Secretary of State Blinken to visit CCP China on 5 February 2023
Image : U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken will visit China from 5 to 6 February. (AFP)
It is reported that U.S. Secretary of State Blinken will visit China from 5 to 6 February 2023, and will meet with the new CCP Foreign Minister Qin Gang in Beijing.
According to the U.S. political news network "Politico", a diplomat familiar with Blinken's visit plans revealed that Secretary of State Blinken will visit China from 5 to 6 February. It is the continuation of a meeting between U.S. President Joe Biden and Xi Jinping in Indonesia last November, when U.S. President Joe Biden pledged to keep lines of communication open with Beijing as U.S.-China relations deteriorated.
Concerns about the Taiwan issue, economic and trade policies, and Beijing's human rights record have led to deteriorating relations between the United States and China. Blinken's visit to China will test whether last year's Xi-Biden meeting has improved relations between the two countries.
Former U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Susan Shirk pointed out that Blinken's Beijing itinerary will reflect whether CCP China, which has just reversed its anti-epidemic policy, is willing to adjust other foreign and domestic policies to reduce the costs of these policies for China.
Neither the U.S. State Department nor the Chinese government have announced the details of Blinken's visit to China. However, the U.S. State Department spokesman Price said last month that the RussIA-Ukraine war will be included in the talks of Blinken's visit to China.

Singapore is the first country to receive the covid virus data of CCP China
Singapore has already received the data of this round of epidemic in China. Perhaps this is one of the reasons why Singapore does not intend to tighten restrictions on Chinese tourists.
In the Parliament not long ago, Singapore's Minister of Health, Ong Ye Kung, revealed a piece of information: China's covid virus data samples were actually all analyzed in Singapore.
He said that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in various cities in China have been actively monitoring new strains in recent days, uploading the latest virus genome sequences every week, which are analyzed by the Singapore office of the Global Initiative for Sharing Influenza Data (GISAID) .
From this, it may be inferred that Singapore may be able to obtain first-hand data on the covid pandemic in China.

Expert estimates that CCP China's epidemic has killed about 900,000 people in the past 5 weeks, calling for accurate data to be shared
Image : In early December last year, China loosened its anti-epidemic measures against pneumonia in Wuhan, and the subsequent epidemic was like a tsunami. Not only were the hospitals overcrowded, but there were too many dead bodies in crematoria and funeral parlors. (AFP)
CCP China loosened the epidemic prevention measures against Wuhan pneumonia in early December last year. Recently, the epidemic situation in the country has been tense. An expert said that although the official said that nearly 60,000 people died of the epidemic in the past month or so, the actual death toll may be hundreds of thousands of underreporting called for the authorities to share more accurate statistics.
According to the "Voice of America" report, on 7 December 2022, China suddenly relaxed and strictly enforced the zero-clearing epidemic prevention measures for nearly three years. The subsequent epidemic situation was like a tsunami. Not only were the hospitals overcrowded, but there were also too many dead bodies in crematoria and funeral homes. You must wait 10 days to 2 weeks before you can be cremated. However, the authorities continued to strictly control the epidemic information and refused to provide timely and accurate data to the public, which caused widespread criticism from domestic and foreign public opinion.
In response to China's recent claim that nearly 60,000 people have died from the epidemic in the past month or so, the report quoted Professor Zhang Zuofeng, director of the Department of Epidemiology at the Fielding School of Public Health at the University of California, Los Angeles, as saying, The number of deaths reported by the epidemic in China may be just the tip of the iceberg. According to the National Development Research Institute of Peking University, according to the big data model, as of the 11th of this month, the national infection rate is about 64%, and the cumulative number of infected people is estimated to be about 900 million. Zhang Zuofeng said that if estimated based on this figure, about 900,000 people died in the past 5 weeks with a 0.1% mortality rate. This shows that the death data of the authorities is less than 7% of the overall death rate, and the current data released by the authorities is far lower. The average death rate in other countries after the initial relaxation of epidemic control.
Zhang Zuofeng also pointed out that based on the data capabilities of China's public security, civil management, and hospital systems, he believes that China still has the ability to accurately track the number of deaths caused by the covid virus. Therefore, he called on China to cooperate with the World Health Organization, other countries and China's own people share more detailed information and transparent data about the epidemic situation in China.

"On the mountain of bones, the red flag is flying, the gongs and drums are loud, singing and dancing." "The commendation meeting? It is to get people to line up at the crematorium. Is this full of honor..." "No one who was commended laughed. , are all rags for The Walking Dead’s political performance, let alone worth mentioning.”
Bao Jian, the daughter of former Zhao Ziyang Secretary Bao Tong, posted on Twitter: "Hundreds of thousands of people died in Beijing in a month, and the city government held a commendation meeting with drums and gongs. Simply shameless! In less than a month, 17 friends or relatives around me have passed away. This is unheard of in my life. Could it be that it is a once-in-a-thousand-year event? How do you explain to the citizens in Beijing that 90% of the people are infected with the virus within a month? From 90% asymptomatic at the beginning to now 90% symptomatic, and 10% severe? What the hell is this virus!"
Another netizen said: "Looks like Beijing has achieved its goal of relieving yang and yang and relieving death." "It's a man-eating machine from victory to victory. They celebrate everything. Those who dance on the pile of bones are They're gone."

Scholars accuse the CDC of engaging in political performances and "joint crime" with the CCP
Li Yuanhua, a historian living in Australia, told The Epoch Times on 16 January 2023 that the Beijing CDC followed the usual routine of the CCP, which is to turn funerals into happy ones. It sings praises.
Li Yuanhua said that the CCP’s epidemic prevention community is following the CCP’s highest political instructions and cooperating with politics instead of actually saving the people. The CCP clears the people and makes them lie down. This is actually a joint crime.
"It is exactly the same as all the bureaucratic institutions of the CCP. When experts from the CDC held a press conference, they appeared as so-called experts, which was very deceptive. They violated their professional knowledge and their own medicine. Ethics and morals are used to explain the rationality of the CCP’s evil government and to deceive the people. So I say it is an accomplice, and it has no conscience.”
Wang Tiancheng, director of the China Institute of Democratic Transformation, also told The Epoch Times on 16 January 2023 that Beijing held this commendation meeting as a political performance to show how right Xi Jinping was in directing and deploying in the fight against the epidemic. "The CCP wants to show the difference from the West. Look at how many of you have died. Our death rate is low. We have achieved great success in fighting the epidemic but this is a fake thing. This celebration is also doing a fake performance, to cover up the failure of the fight against the epidemic.”

Huge number of deaths, no one believes the CCP epidemic data
The harsh clean-up in the past three years has caused continuous secondary disasters. During the closure of Shanghai last year, many people died not because of the virus, but starved to death, died of other diseases that could not be treated, and committed suicide due to depression. Nearly 3 a.m. on September 18 last year, a bus transporting quarantined personnel in Guiyang overturned in Qiannan Prefecture, killing 27 people. On November 24 last year, a fire broke out in a residential building in Urumqi, Xinjiang, causing 19 casualties due to the lockdown.
However, the authorities have always strictly ordered all localities to stick to the extreme prevention and control policy of dynamic zeroing. Xi Jinping claimed that this "prevention and control policy is determined by the nature and purpose of the party. The control measures are scientific and effective."
The 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China ended. On 7 December 2022, the authorities suddenly and disorderly lifted the lockdown, allowing the people to directly face the impact of the virus. The CCP tried its best to cover up the death data. Since 7 December, the official daily death toll has been single digits or even zero. The CDC announced on 8 January 2023 that only 37 people died from the epidemic between 7 December and 8 January 2023. No one in the country believed it.
On 14 January 2023, the National Health Commission of the Communist Party of China suddenly announced that the death toll from the epidemic was nearly 60,000. No one believed this data.
A Beijing netizen posted: "There are 90 cremators in Beijing, and each cremator burns 50 corpses a day, with a maximum capacity of 4,500 corpses a day. Subtracting the 300 natural deaths per day, the minimum number of people who die from the epidemic every day is 4,200. Here comes the problem. As of now, even if no one dies tomorrow, the existing corpses have to be lined up for 30 days, which is 126,000. In addition, they have been burned for many days before, and they will have to die in the future. In this wave of infection deaths in Beijing the minimum number of people is 200,000. Beijing has the best medical conditions in the country. If 20 million people die at least 200,000, then the whole country will die at least 10 million. In fact, the medical conditions in other parts of the country are not as good as Beijing, and this 10 million is far more than that."
Bao Jian said on Twitter, "I don't have accurate data, but according to the funeral parlours that are full, there are many corpses in the oven, the waiting time for incineration is several times or even ten times longer than usual, the emergency system is paralyzed, the emergency department has a long queue, the hospital morgue is full, coffins, ashes. The supply of boxes and cemeteries is in short supply... Then based on the locally released data on severe cases and white lung, the most important thing is to make subjective judgments based on the official attitude of not saying a word."
Wang Tiancheng told The Epoch Times that in order to show that it wants to distinguish itself from the West, the CCP has taken many extreme measures. The West uses government power on the premise of respecting human rights. It has boundaries, while the power of the CCP government is limited. There are no boundaries. It has implemented a severe blockade that may be hard to see in human history.
"Later, it became uncontrollable and suddenly released. The result was a large number of infections and a large number of deaths. At this time, the CCP is still using the old logic. It must maintain that the Communist Party is always right, and Xi Jinping is always right, so it adopts the method of concealing infection data and death data. People with a bit of common sense feel that it is very ridiculous. If you do some small group surveys, look at its death rate. Among my own relatives, 2 have died. One is my cousin, and the other My uncle has already passed away. A good friend of mine, his father also passed away. I have a cousin who is dying. It is estimated that it will be difficult to treat him. He has already turned into white lung. You can calculate the death rate in the end. How tall." Wang Tiancheng said.
On the day when the Beijing CDC held a celebration meeting for epidemic prevention, Economic Observer.com reported a report on the infection of the covid epidemic released by Ma Jingjing's research group at the National School of Development of Peking University. The report shows that as of 11 January 2023, the cumulative national covi infection rate reached about 64%, and the cumulative number of infected people was about 900 million.
Caixin.com reported on 12 January 2023 that Zeng Guang, a well-known Chinese public health and epidemiology expert, said at a professional event on the 8th: "This epidemic is in waves, wave after wave, first in Beijing, then in Guangzhou. , Chengdu, Chongqing, etc." Zeng Guang pointed out that the peak of the epidemic in Beijing has passed, "but the peak of severe cases has not yet begun, and the peak of the epidemic has just begun in some places, or it has begun in cities but not in rural areas in some places."
Master Li, the founder of Falun Gong, said that the CCP has been covering up the epidemic for more than three years. The epidemic in China has killed 400 million people. When this wave of epidemic ends, China will die 500 million people.

The CCP is trying to continue to brainwash the people and get away with it
The last time the CCP held a Covid Celebration and Commendation Conference was in September 2020. At that time, people all over the world were hit hard by the Wuhan pneumonia virus and their lives were dying. At the commendation meeting, Xi Jinping presented awards and honors to Zhong Nanshan, Zhang Boli, Chen Wei and many other "meritorious personnel" in the fight against the epidemic, announcing that under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, they have "captured major strategic achievements in the national fight against the epidemic." Netizens ridiculed that Zhong Nanshan and others were put on a string of "dog chains".
Wang Tiancheng believes that this time, although the Chinese people are generally dissatisfied, the CCP will continue to use shameless propaganda to create another kind of public opinion. It hopes that brainwashing will succeed again after a long time. "It tasted the sweetness, it controlled the public opinion, repeated the propaganda over and over again, said we had a great success."
Li Yuanhua believes that the chaos of the CCP's epidemic prevention has made many people who used to have illusions about the CCP, including the Chinese people and people in the international community, basically have no illusions about the CCP.
Wang Tiancheng said that if people can go to the funeral parlours to check closely, they will find the death toll shocking. Even a small survey of people around them can reveal a large number of deaths. But it will be very difficult to independently investigate the whole truth, because the CCP strictly controls hospitals and crematoria, and does not allow people to write about deaths from the epidemic.
