Changchun epidemic prevention chaos, uninfected people are locked together with positive patients

CCP China is extremely anti-epidemic, and there are many chaos. Changchun, Jilin Province, where the epidemic is severely affected, even detains positive infected people and healthy people together.

On 29 March 2022, a video that went viral on Weibo on the mainland showed that some positive patients in Changchun were locked up in a bus. However, there was a family who tested negative.

Video photographer: The people in this car are all confirmed patients who are positive for covid. I saw their nucleic acid tests, and their results were positive. But every time our family of four has a negative nucleic acid test result. You control like this. Is it an epidemic? Are you planning to clear all negatives in the Northeast and let us all get infected?

Although the whole family eventually got off the bus, they were forced to spend a day in a confined space with the positive patient and became close contacts.

Video shooter: We all have no problem but we stayed in this car with the positive person for a day, from morning to night. I want to ask how the epidemic in Northeast China is controlled? Who is responsible if something goes wrong? Is this the case?

However, this is not an accidental incident. The netizens who followed also described the epidemic prevention chaos around them. Some netizens sighed, "This epidemic in Northeast China is really a mess, and the Changchun government is incompetent!" "If you still let in the government's inaction, when will the epidemic in Changchun end?"

Shanghai lockdown leads hospital to shirk, elderly in his 70s die due to delayed hemodialysis

Recently, in order to curb the surging covid epidemic, Shanghai has implemented regional lockdowns and carried out nucleic acid testing for all employees. Resources are being run on, and patients with other diseases are frequently delayed in treatment. A few days ago, another incident of the death of a 70-year-old man with renal failure due to delayed hemodialysis treatment aroused public attention.

At night of 29 March, local time, Weibo user @redsyp announced that his 77-year-old father, who was in the process of hemodialysis treatment due to diabetes and renal failure, was recently transferred to a hospital after a positive nucleic acid test but was swayed by several hospitals during the transfer process. After two days of delay, his condition deteriorated and he died.

According to this post, on 26 March, at the request of the New District Center for Disease Control and Prevention, the sick old man underwent hemodialysis at the Pudong Hospital Affiliated to Fudan University. Due to the lockdown by the epidemic, the old man’s children were unable to travel with him, only his 83-year-old wife escort. At 4 pm that day, the patient had two nucleic acid tests, which were positive, and was transferred to the fever clinic isolation area in the emergency hall at 10 pm that night. The patient's wife was sent home after a negative nucleic acid test.

On 27 March, the patient with kidney failure was informed that Pudong Hospital would not accept positive patients for hemodialysis, and he would be transferred to Jun Ai Rehabilitation Hospital but because the 120 emergency was overloaded, the patient waited until 28 March. He was transferred to Shanghai Junai Rehabilitation Hospital for isolation at 8.50 am on Sunday. There are no doctors or nurses in isolation wards to consult or care for patients. After the patient vomited and fell into a coma that night, he was transported to the ICU ward of Zhoupu Hospital by the 120 ambulance. By this time, the patient had not undergone hemodialysis for more than 4 days.

At about 9.52 pm on 28 March, the patient died, and the hospital did not inform the family in time. It was not until the patient's family called the ICU of Zhoupu Hospital at 9 am on 29 March to inquire about the patient's condition that they learned that the patient had died of myocardial failure caused by long-term lack of kidney dialysis.

In fact, as Shanghai's epidemic prevention and control measures become more and more severe, there have been frequent incidents in recent days in which patients with other diseases have been delayed in treatment or even endangered their lives due to extreme epidemic prevention. These are some of the cases that have been exposed on Weibo.

Shanghai's epidemic prevention chaos, mobilization of militia and lockdown of the city, public grievances boil

In Shanghai, most of the confirmed cases were asymptomatic and mildly ill, but under the control of the authorities, it once again turned into a humanitarian disaster. Some netizens have posted photos showing that the authorities have dispatched militia to participate in the blockade control.

Residents of Pudong New Area in Shanghai: We want to eat cheap food.

Under the strict control of the authorities, the people of Shanghai faced an existential crisis and began to demonstrate and protest.

Shanghai petitioner Ms. Mao: Life is really hard. Our subsistence allowance is more than 1,000 RMB. How can we live? We are sick, we never see a doctor, and we do not have enough money.

As the epidemic continues to spread, the Shanghai authorities, like other parts of China, have once again brought the tragedies that have happened on the stage to the stage. The chaotic epidemic prevention management has made people angry.

Mr. Ni, a resident of Shanghai: It is an anti-humanity measure that seriously violates human rights and endangers the people. Because of extreme prevention and control measures, countless conflicts have been caused, causing citizens to commit suicide, starve to death, become ill with incurable diseases, die, and other human tragedies. We must be held accountable.

The scarcity of supplies, the high prices of vegetables, the dungeons, the dense isolation of people, and the collapsed medical system make it hard to imagine that in this richest city in China, humanitarian disasters are constantly being staged.

Shanghai people: We want freedom.

At the same time, the Shanghai authorities even mobilized the militia to participate in "maintaining stability", and the document on the mobilization of the militia in Jing'an District, Puxi was also reported on the Internet on the 29th.

According to external analysis, even if Shanghai has already seen public grievances, the authorities may escalate control. On the 30th, the Shanghai government announced the "global static management of nucleic acid screening for all staff", and it was suspected that Puxi would be locked down in advance while there were already communities in Pudong, which extended the blockade time.

Study: Lockdown costs CCP China $46 billion a month

According to a study by the Chinese University of Hong Kong, the CCP's extreme epidemic prevention measures have taken a heavy toll on the economy, with an estimated monthly loss of at least 46 billion U.S. Dollars.

According to a report by Radio Free Asia in the United States, the economic team of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, based on the location data of nearly 2 million trucks in mainland China, based on the fact that the cities that implement the lockdown account for 20% of the GDP of mainland China, it is calculated that the lockdown will lead to CCP China losing at least $46 billion a month, equivalent to 3.1% of China's GDP. That is just a conservative estimate.

Commander, a Chinese financial scholar, said in an interview with Radio Free Asia that the CCP’s closure and control of Shanghai will have far-reaching consequences.

Commander of Chinese financial scholars: Not only does the information flow and logistics in the city stagnate, but more importantly, Shanghai, as a window for China's reform and opening up, is now shutting down the entire city because of the city lockdown. This has to make people suspect that whether CCP is shutting down the determination to reform and open up the country's economy.

The commander and scholars from the economic team of the Chinese University of Hong Kong agreed that if the four first-tier cities of "Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen" were closed at the same time, the consequences would be unimaginable, and the GDP would lose at least 17%, which is equivalent to at least 15 trillion RMB will be evaporated.

Shanghai officials continue to refute rumours, netizens: The more rumours I refute, the more panic I get

The epidemic in Shanghai has worsened, and the lockdown measures have been escalated step by step. The official refutation of rumors has sparked a rebound in public opinion, because many previous so-called "rumors" were finally confirmed to be "far ahead predictions". Some netizens lamented, "The more I refute the rumours, the more panic I get..."

On 31 March 2022, the entry "Shanghai Continuous Rumours" was searched on Weibo, and the authorities once again refuted some information circulating on the Internet. However, the official move sparked a backlash in public opinion. Netizens criticized the Shanghai authorities for spending money to control the Internet but they failed to protect people's livelihood and solve the problems of food, shelter and medical treatment.

A netizen posted a video on Weibo saying, "An asthma patient in Pudong, Shanghai died because of 120 refusal to rescue the patient. He could die of illness, starvation, whatever he wanted, but he couldn't die from covid. Anyway, the lives of ordinary people are not lives. The rescue equipment is not borrowed, so why don't you explain it when you have time?"

Some netizens responded, "It's OK to refute rumors, but not to save people." "#Shanghai Pudong: A case of asthma patient died because of 120 refusal to rescue #This will not be a rumour."

"With the effort of refuting rumors, can't we solve the problem of ordinary people's difficulty in buying vegetables? Can't we solve the problem of patients who are in urgent need of medical treatment? What an international metropolis, the black hat is more important than the life of the common people."

"At present, what is more meaningful than refuting rumours is the issue of the vegetable basket in Shanghai, 'people take food as their heaven', can we buy vegetables, and whether we can buy cheaper ones." "Don't make a show all day long." Big gift package', take some photos and small videos to confuse the public, but down-to-earth solve the problem of food and housing for the common people."

"Fix the people's livelihood first, the people's livelihood is messed up, all the materials are not in place, every day the trumpet shouts don't go out, but it's harder to give a green vegetable than to go to the sky. There was a hot search last night, just talking about this, the residents are all on fire. What’s the difference between Shanghai and Wuhan now? With the lockdown management in 2020, at least one household can go out to buy some supplies. Now, the community management and control are all a matter of concern. What about people’s livelihoods and nucleic acid tests? It has been several waves, and everyone is not allowed to go out. Okay, at least daily life must be guaranteed... ? If the rumour is refuted, will everyone believe it?"

Some netizens listed 7 truths about the Shanghai epidemic: "It's true that we can't get the food; the city is closed, it's true; there is a run on medical care, it's true; a large number of positives can't be controlled and can't be treated, it's true; the grassroots management is in chaos, it all depends on residential self-governance, true; no talk, 'forms are getting better', true; 2022, Shanghai, magic realism, true."

Image : Screenshot of Weibo

Some netizens also summed up the 6 "tracks of refuting rumours" of the Shanghai authorities in this epidemic, and finally confirmed that the so-called "rumours" were "far ahead predictions".

1. It was rumoured that "the problem of fresh air at the isolation point of Huating Hotel caused a catastrophe and hundreds of positive cases leaked."

2. It was rumoured that "the elderly team of Caoyang Community was collectively positive", the official said it was a rumour, and it turned out that "the elderly team of the whole street got it".

3. It was rumoured that "Shanghai is building a square cabin hospital", and the authorities said it was a rumour. As a result, the official announcement stated that the construction had already been completed.

4. It was rumoured that "Jiaotong University has fallen, hundreds of positive cases", the authorities said it was a "rumour", and then the official stated that it was not Xuhui Jiaotong University that fell, but Minhang Jiaotong University.

5. "There are 8,000 cases in Pudong", the official still claims "rumour", the truth is more than "8,000".

6. Regarding the statement that Shanghai was closed, the authorities still said it was a rumour, and arrested two people but then announced that Pudong would be locked down first and then Puxi.

Image : Screenshot of Weibo

Regarding Shanghai's official refutation of rumours, netizens said, "Well, I suddenly thought that two people who said 'Shanghai is about to be locked down' were arrested two days ago. Now the situation is very different. Are those two people  wronged?" People all over the country know that they are lying, and they also know that they are lying, but they just don't change it, and if they regard the epidemic as more important than their face, they will not be at this point." "The more rumours are refuted, the more panic I get... ··"

In addition to the above-mentioned "six times of refuting rumours", "Puxi closed the city ahead of schedule" on 29 March was also called a rumour by the Shanghai authorities. However, many netizens confirmed that it was "true" and that Puxi had been closed in advance.

Some netizens said, "It's true, our community was blocked in the morning." Some netizens commented on the following thread, "We also blocked, last night. Minhang Puxi section."

Another netizen said, "Our community has been notified at noon! They all ran out to buy vegetables." "Qibao has been closed, and it will be closed until 5 April."

Some netizens also said that Puxi invented a "new word" and called the early sealing and control as "trial sealing". A netizen wrote, "Our community says 'trial sealing', and you can tell me what is 'trial sealing', Puxi really has you."

Some netizens concluded, "Combining with the rumours that were refuted last time when Shanghai closed the city, it can be concluded that the rumours are far ahead predictions."

[Financial Business World] Shanghai is blocked, the CCP is crazy?

Image : Shanghai Port is China's largest export port. Knowing that Shanghai cannot be closed, why should Beijing block it? Is the CCP's "anti-epidemic war" becoming an important part of the infighting in Zhongnanhai? (Financial Business World)

The current hot spot in mainland China is the phased lockdown of Shanghai, and many netizens in Shanghai are also enjoying themselves. Some netizens vividly said that Pudong is sealed until April Fool's Day, and Puxi is sealed until Qingming Festival. These districts will not have festivals. Shanghai is China's largest financial, port, technology, and trade centre. Once it shuts down, CCP China's economy is bound to enter a state of shock. Why does the CCP still insist on shutting down the city?

Foreign funds flee quickly

As we all know, China's economy, under the influence of the current domestic epidemic and the crisis in Russia and Ukraine, is facing the greatest downward pressure since the beginning of 2020. At present, the soaring epidemic situation in more than 20 cities in China, as well as severe "zero-covid" measures, have suppressed the operation and production activities of many industries.

This grim situation has prompted some investment banks to reassess their growth forecasts for China's economy. For example, Nomura Holdings, an international investment bank, said in a report on March 26 that although they had raised China’s growth forecast for January to March this year to 4.2%, it seems that the 2.9% forecast may be more accurate. reflect the real economic situation.

However, this forecast updated by Nomura Holdings is from January to March, and it was released before Shanghai announced the closure of the city on the 27th. I wonder if there will be any updates to China's economic growth expectations in the future with the closure of Shanghai. What about more?

At the same time, the current international environment has made China's economic prospects even more severe. However, this was facilitated by the CCP itself. It can be seen that the current Russian-Ukrainian war is not only making capital rush to escape from Russia, but at the same time, it is also accelerating its escape from China. According to the "Wall Street Journal" report, as of March 24, foreign investors had sold US$9.5 billion of Chinese mainland stocks in March this year, and the monthly outflow was second only to March 2020, when the epidemic began soon. , foreign investors sold a net $10.6 billion of Chinese stocks.

In addition to stocks, foreign investors reduced their holdings of Chinese government bonds in February, which also hit a record high.

As for the main reason for overseas capital fleeing China, everyone knows that it is precisely because of the CCP’s attitude towards the Russian-Ukrainian war, because overseas investors are worried that the sanctions imposed by the United States and the European Union on Russia will spread in some way. to China.

It can be seen that the current situation of CCP China's economy is under internal and external pressure, which is a bad thing. At this point, we see that Shanghai, which has always claimed to be "precise epidemic prevention", has also been closed. This also shows that in China, no matter how big the city is, the general model for fighting the epidemic is also the way out of "closing the city". In the past, it was called a ferry from Pudong to Puxi. Now, if Pudong goes to Puxi, it is considered a smuggling.

Shanghai's lockdown may cause economic shock

Shanghai, since the opening of the port in 1843, has always been an iconic and prosperous city in China's more than 100 years of modern history, a city that never sleeps with neon lights.

Regarding the lockdown of Shanghai, Bloomberg quoted a Chinese economist's estimate that the impact may reduce China's economic growth in the first and second quarters by as much as 0.4 percentage points compared with a year ago .

Shanghai, as China's largest international city of economy, finance, trade, shipping and aviation, plays an important role in China's economic development.

Shanghai's area is not large, less than one-thousandth of China's, and its population is not large, accounting for only 1.7% of China's. However, in 2021, Shanghai will contribute 3.8% of China's GDP, ranking first among Chinese cities.  In terms of different industries, the added value of Shanghai's financial industry accounts for 8.6% of the whole of China, and the wholesale and retail industry also exceeds 5%. If Shanghai can achieve its expected economic growth target of 5.5% this year, it will boost China's economic growth by 0.2 percentage points.

In addition, the total retail sales of consumer goods in Shanghai in 2021 will reach 1.8 trillion yuan, an increase of 13.5%, which is 1 percentage point higher than that of the whole of China. In terms of scale, it will continue to rank first among Chinese cities.

From the perspective of the industry, according to the Shanghai Bureau of Finance, the financial revenue contributed by the service industry in Shanghai performed outstandingly, with an increase of 12.5%, which played an important driving role. Among them: the business income increased by 27.3%, the financial industry income increased by 7.7%, and the information service industry income increased by 35.2%.

However, the more important Shanghai's economic role is, the greater the impact of the closure measures on the economy. Undoubtedly, the closure of the city will further hit service industries such as catering and tourism, and weaken people's consumer confidence.

Export trade last breath

As we all know, the troika in China's economy, whether it is investment or domestic demand, these two engines have stalled, and the remaining exports, although according to the CCP's official data, the export trade results in January and February this year are still bright Eyes, but many cities in China continue to "clear", and now with the closure of Shanghai, then the last engine of export is likely to be turned off.

So, how important is Shanghai's position in exports? Shanghai is China's foreign trade center. In 2021, Shanghai's port trade volume will exceed 10 trillion yuan, reaching 10.1 trillion yuan, an increase of 15.4%, and it will continue to maintain its status as the world's largest port city. The total import and export of goods reached 4.1 trillion yuan, an increase of 16.5%.

In addition, Shanghai Port is the largest port in the world. The world's top five ports, except for Singapore, the other four cities are in mainland China.

Since 2010, Shanghai Port has become the world's largest container port. In 2013, Shanghai Port's cargo and container throughput ranked first in the world. After the epidemic, due to the rapid growth of export goods, the container throughput of Shanghai Port has also increased rapidly. In 2021, the container throughput of Shanghai Port will increase by about 8.1% year-on-year, reaching 47.033 million TEUs, continuing to rank among the world's containers. No. 1 in throughput. From January to February 2022, the cumulative container throughput of Shanghai Port exceeded 8.16 million TEUs, with a year-on-year growth rate of 9.7%.

Therefore, as the Shanghai epidemic prevention and control team said, if Shanghai stops, there will be many more international freighters floating at sea in the East China Sea.

Some people may think that Shanghai is very important, but 4 days is okay. We know that the busy port of Shenzhen is the third largest port in the world, second only to Shanghai. Before this, the city was closed for 7 days, which not only caused 174 ships were stranded, and the economic losses during the lockdown period were estimated to be about 60 billion RMB.

Moreover, as we all know, once Shanghai has the first city closure, there may be a second and third time in the future. At the same time, from the perspective of the epidemic, the current Omicron is extremely contagious. Mutated viruses, like influenza, are difficult to eliminate by "zeroing".

Shanghai Nth Xi'an poses challenges to Li Qiang's career prospects

Before this, some people might think that Shanghai's anti-epidemic management model is quite successful compared to other cities in China. However, the fact is that before the city was completely closed down, there were already a lot of chaos. There are many reports on specific examples, so we won’t go into details here. However, as some netizens in Shanghai said, “None of them died of the epidemic, they all died of delayed treatment, and some were forced to die.”

Perhaps under the pressure of the closure of the city, the netizens' words are somewhat absolute, but it reflects the cruelty of the mandatory "clearing" policy. Otherwise, no netizens would joke that the city is half and half closed, and the people are half and half. crazy, crazy crazy.

We know that on 26 March, the Shanghai epidemic prevention and control team also stated that the city would not be closed. The reason is that if Shanghai stops, it will affect the entire Chinese economy and the global economy. But in the blink of an eye, the next day, it was suddenly announced that Shanghai was going to be closed down.

Some analysts say that this sudden change is due to Li Qiang, the secretary of the Shanghai Municipal Party Committee.

On 17 March, Xi Jinping emphasized at the Politburo meeting that the officials who caused the epidemic to get out of control should be held accountable. On the same day, Jilin Province officially announced that 16 officials and public officials had been held accountable for ineffective epidemic prevention and control. . On the 13th before this, six officials, including the deputy director of the Provincial Public Security Department, had also been dismissed due to the outbreak of an epidemic in a detention center in Dongguan.

Shanghai, on the other hand, is quite different from other cities in its previous anti-epidemic measures. Not only has it not adopted a lockdown model for epidemic prevention, but so far, no one in Shanghai officials has been held accountable for the out-of-control epidemic. So, is it the privilege that Xi Jinping gave Li Qiang to allow him to experiment with personalization? Or is it Li Qiang himself, who does not follow the instructions of "one statue" and wants to "innovate" and follow the international anti-epidemic method?

But no matter what the reason was, Li Qiang could not take it anymore. At night of the 27th, at the Shanghai Epidemic Prevention and Control Conference, Li Qiang said that the new round of lockdown, testing and screening was a "critical move", and he also said that "we must resolutely implement" Xi Jinping's "important speech and instructions."

So who is Li Qiang? Li Qiang, 63, is a native of Ruian, Zhejiang, and a member of the Political Bureau of the 19th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. When Xi Jinping was in power in Zhejiang, Li Qiang served as the secretary-general of the provincial party committee. core characters. In recent years, there has been news from time to time that Li Qiang will rise to the top at the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, be promoted to the Standing Committee of the Politburo, and even take over as Prime Minister.

As we all know, Li Keqiang has already admitted that he will step down as premier in 2023 during the two sessions of the Communist Party of China this year. Some analysts believe that, by convention, the post of prime minister is generally taken over by the current deputy prime minister. Then, if Li Qiang wants to stand firm, unless Xi Jinping uses the 2021 revision of the NPC Organic Law for the first time to let the NPC Standing Committee appoint Li Qiang as vice premier in advance during the closing of the NPC. Another possibility is that Li Qiang succeeds Han Zheng as the first deputy prime minister.

This time the epidemic in Shanghai is out of control. If it gets worse, it may impact the personnel affairs of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China this fall. As a close associate of Xi Jinping, Li Qiang's every move is targeted by political enemies within the CCP.

It can be seen that the so-called "anti-epidemic war" personally commanded by Xi Jinping is becoming an important part of the infighting in Zhongnanhai. Once Li Qiang makes a mistake, the CCP's insistence on "clearing" the "system confidence" will show its true shape, not only his own career will be hindered but even Xi Jinping's re-election will be attacked by anti-Xi factions.

A few days ago, the "Wall Street Journal" reported that some CCP insiders mentioned that some CCP "veterans" opposed Xi Jinping's breaking the established leadership succession system. Closing the door is a fool's errand."

But at present, it seems that at least before the 20th National Congress, Xi Jinping will not cancel the "zero-covid" policy measures. Although the CCP has always emphasized "stabilizing the economy", for the CCP, stabilizing the regime is the real top priority. In this way, further deterioration of China's economy in the second half of the year is inevitable.

Shanghai epidemic spreads to 80 cities, many places are closed and controlled

The epidemic in Shanghai continues to spread. Many mainland provinces and cities have detected positive patients among the returnees from Shanghai, and the management and control in many places have been upgraded. . Among them, Jinan announced on the 30th that primary and secondary schools would switch to online learning, local vegetable prices have risen, and people complained that they could not get food.

According to official reports, on 29 March, Shanghai added 326 local confirmed cases and 5,656 asymptomatic positive infections in a single day. Because the CCP has always concealed the epidemic, the actual number of infected people may be higher.

The risk notices continuously issued by the Nanping Center for Disease Control and Prevention in Fujian show that the epidemic in Shanghai continues to spread outward. The notice on 20 March stated that the current round of epidemic in Shanghai has spread to 54 cities in 15 provinces; the notice issued on March 28 said that the current round of epidemic in Shanghai has spread to 80 cities in 20 provinces.

Jinan now suspends classes due to the epidemic, people complain that they can't get food

In the morning of 30 March, the epidemic report released by Jinan, Shandong Province showed that the newly discovered positive infected person was a related case of an asymptomatic infected person who returned from Shanghai to Zhangqiu, Jinan.

The Jinan Education Bureau urgently notified that primary and secondary schools, kindergartens, and off-campus training institutions in nine districts, including Lixia, Shizhong, Huaiyin, Tianqiao, Licheng, Changqing, Zhangqiu, Gaoxin and Nanshan, will be fully starting online teaching.

Mr. Zhang, a citizen of Jinan, told The Epoch Times on the 30th, "It was a man who came back from cleaning in Shanghai. The nucleic acid test in Shanghai was negative at first, but it was positive when he came back (Jinan), and several communities were closed."

Mr. Su, a resident of Jinan, told The Epoch Times that he felt everyone was very nervous. "When there were many cases in Jinan in the past, I wasn't so nervous. This time I feel a little weird!"

There were crowds of people queuing outside many supermarkets in Jinan, and at noon the online platform also saw the food being sold out.

Mr. Su said that people are all rushing for vegetables, "We have no lockdown here but we can't buy vegetables. Today I saw that the vegetables were all empty, and I was a little confused, and the price was higher than yesterday (expensive). For example, yesterday I bought chrysanthemum for 4 RMB a pound, 3 RMB a pound, today is 5 RMB a pound."

Mr. Su believes that the reason for the skyrocketing vegetable prices is because of the large-scale closure and control in Shanghai. "The closure and control of Shanghai has caused the price of vegetables to be ridiculously high, and this situation has occurred in cities radiating from Shanghai."

Epidemic cases in Wuhu, Guiyang, Haikou and Suzhou

The official notification on March 29 showed that there was an epidemic in Wuhu, Anhui. The source of the epidemic came from a man who returned to Wuhu Fanchang from Shanghai on 23 March. The man was diagnosed on the 24th. According to Liu Zhirong, director of the province's Center for Disease Control and Prevention, most of the confirmed cases and asymptomatic infections in Wuhu had crossed paths with the man, and "the spread of the virus is beyond imagination."

In the epidemic report issued by Guiyang, Guizhou Province on the 30th, the trajectory of a confirmed patient was announced. The man took a flight from Shanghai Pudong Airport on the 26th, transited at Jieyang Chaoshan Airport in Guangdong, and arrived at Guiyang Longdongbao Airport. He was diagnosed late on the 28th. Some airport workers were quarantined, businesses around the airport were listed as close contacts, and the Second Hospital of Guizhou Province was closed, and nucleic acid testing was conducted throughout the hospital.

Among the positive infections reported by Hainan Province on the 30th, one of the patients was from Shanghai. At present, the Xiuying farmers market in Haikou City has been closed.

Ms. Lin, a resident of Xiuying District, Haikou, Hainan, told The Epoch Times, "The market is not open for business, and all (businesses) are quarantined inside. If there is still a confirmed case, all people here (Xiuying District) will also be quarantined. "

In addition, vegetable transporters in many places in Jiangsu were infected. Recently, vegetable freighters, colleagues, family members and other related personnel who continued to travel to and from Suzhou in other provinces found positive patients.

Multi-site management and control upgrade

The epidemic in Shanghai is serious, and Shanghai people have become the targets of prevention and control in various provinces. Xi'an issued a regulation on the 23rd, "point-to-point transfer for all passengers from Jilin Province and Shanghai to Shaanxi."

On the 30th, the reporter asked the staff of a sub-district office responsible for epidemic prevention in Xi'an Xincheng. She said, "If you come from Shanghai, you may go to the expressway, and you won't be able to get off. The hotel will not accept you."

At the same time, although no cases have been officially reported, the control of Pizhou, which borders Shandong and Jiangsu, has been upgraded, including banning dine-in meals and suspending tomb sweeping.

Mr. Citizen Gu of Pizhou told The Epoch Times on 30 March, "We have closed the city here, and the community is not allowed to enter or leave. Neighbouring Pei County and Jiawang have both detected the epidemic and checked for two days in a row."

Mr. Su, a citizen of Jinan, expressed concern about the spread of the new covi variant in the mainland, and many cities were locked down, and nucleic acid tests were carried out frequently.

"Foreign countries have regarded covid as a disease that is not as serious as flu but I always feel that there are people in China who have been guiding the government and the whole society to do nucleic acid, which makes people suspect that pharmaceutical factories or testing institutions have ulterior motives to guide epidemic prevention, officials' policy, kidnapping society," Mr. Su said.

U.S. to end immigration ban during pandemic

Editor : Ye Ziwei / https://www.epochtimes.com/gb/22/3/30/n13684534.htm / Image : On 2 October 2019, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) law enforcement officers inspect people entering the country at the San Ysidro, California Port of Entry. (Sandy Huffaker/AFP via Getty Images)

The U.S. Health Department plans to end a wide-ranging pandemic-related illegal entry by 23 May 2022, according to a U.S. official with knowledge of the matter in relation to Immigrant Deportation Policy. The policy effectively shut down the refugee asylum system at the U.S.-Mexico border. He also added that the decision has not yet been finalized.

According to a Reuters report on 30 March, the official said that a draft notice issued by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said that in order to protect the United States Citizens are protected from covid, and the implementation of the order known as the closure of the immigration asylum system in Article 42 is no longer necessary. The resumption date is set for May 23. This is to give border authorities enough time so they can prepare for this.

Another U.S. official told Reuters that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention will announce the lifting of the order as early as Thursday (March 31), pushing the effective date back by a month or more. Both officials requested anonymity because of discussions involving internal plans.

Previously, Democratic leaders, medical experts and the United Nations had urged the Biden-Harris administration to repeal Article 42. But Republicans believe it will encourage more immigrants to enter illegally, at a time when record numbers of immigrants are crossing the border illegally.

The order was implemented in March 2020 during the administration of former Republican President Donald Trump to curb the spread of covi in crowded border facilities. Since then, more than a million migrants caught at the border have been swiftly deported to Mexico or other countries. Often, they are deported within hours of being arrested, with no chance of seeking asylum in the United States.

Democratic President Joe Biden, who takes office in January 2021, said on Wednesday his administration would make a decision on the policy "as soon as possible."

A spokesman for the CDC, which issued the order, said the CDC is completing a 60-day criteria review and will release more information on that later this week.

Biden's administration has kept the order despite fierce criticism from his Democratic Party and his campaign promise to repeal Trump's hard-line immigration policies.

In 2021, in Biden's first year in office, border arrests of migrants illegally crossing the border surged to record levels and are expected to rise further this year.

U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) officials said on Tuesday (March 29) that they were preparing for a surge in people at border crossings. But it is unclear whether the lifting of the order to stop the asylum application due to the epidemic will lead to a further increase in the number of illegal immigrants.

The Department of Homeland Security said Monday (March 28) that it has begun vaccinating immigrants detained at the border against covid.

The Biden-Harris administration last week introduced a major rule aimed at speeding up the asylum application and deportation process at the U.S.-Mexico border. The rule will go into effect in late May, close to when the order is lifted.

Ukrainian cars driven over landmines

Image : Video Screenshot (Daily Mail)

These are the tense moments civilians carefully drove their cars over landmines left behind by Russian troops on a main road in Ukraine.

The drivers are shown crossing one-by-one, navigating their cars through the mine field - all while coming inches from death.

Footage from Borodyanka, a town in Kyiv Oblast, shows the mines covering the full width of a bridge and positioned in diagonal rows, meaning any vehicle driven across them in a straight line would likely set them off and be destroyed

The rows of mines, which were placed four-deep across the bridge, meant civilians wanting to pass the treacherous trap had to angle their cars so that their tyres run parallel to the mines to not set them off.

In the nerve-wracking video, a queue of cars is shown pulled up to the side of the two-lane road, with the drivers patiently waiting their turn to drive their vehicles over the heavily mined stretch.

Three crossings are shown in the footage, filmed by someone standing on the other side of the mines to where the cars are queued.

The first driver, whose car is also towing a small trailer, is shown lining their vehicle up to the minefield before bravely pushing forward, safely keeping their tyres either side of a curved row of the explosives.

Each moment is spent fearing the slightest mistake could set off the mines, destroy the car and almost definitely kill the driver inside but the fears prove unfounded. Four mines pass underneath the car and the trailer before the driver successfully crosses to the other side without a scratch.

The next two drivers appear more timid. The second is driving a larger vehicle, and so its wheels come much closer to the mines either side of it but like the first, the driver is able to clear the mines and continue down the road.

The third driver lines their wheels up more awkwardly. The video ends with their vehicle halfway across the mines, and before they make it to the other side.

It is unclear how the mines were spotted. The small round devices lie low on the road, and so any driver approaching at speed could easily drive straight into them.

The video comes after a human rights group reported that Russian forces have been using banned antipersonnel mines during their invasion of Ukraine.

Norway's defence against radiation infection from Ukraine, citizens given 72 hours notice to prepare their bunkers and stock radiation medicine

Reporter : Lauren Lewis, Daily Mail / https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10671373/Chernobyl-disaster-fears-Norway-tells-citizens-dust-Cold-War-bunkers.html

Norway has told its citizens to "dust off" their Cold War bunkers and stock radiation medicines in case of a radiation fallout from Ukraine's Chernobyl nuclear plant.

Oslo's defence minister Odd Roger Enoksen warned citizens a nuclear disaster could see radioactive materials drift over Norway "if the wind goes in this direction".

He said civilians would be given 72 hours notice to prepare their bunkers and that "if they are using them for storage now they need to make a plan for taking things out".

Enoksen also urged citizens to stockpile radiation medicines for children and suggested civilians should store a three-day supply of thyroid-blocking medicine Jodix in each home in case of a shutdown during a nuclear disaster.

The minister said that the warnings were not related to fears of nuclear war but 'linked to the nuclear power plants in Ukraine and the accidents we have seen.'

"Ukraine has the most production of nuclear power in Europe and if an accident happens, as with Chernobyl, we will all in western Europe be affected by that if the wind goes in this direction," he said, The Times reported.

It comes amid high-level discussions to reimpose Cold War-era building regulations making underground bunkers a requirement for civilian structures, such as hotels, and amid talks about whether some underground shelters needed upgrading.
