Senior Chinese officials told senior Russian officials in early February not to invade Ukraine before the end of the Winter Olympics in Beijing, the New York Times reported on Wednesday, citing Biden administration officials and a European official.
The Times said a Western intelligence report indicates senior Chinese officials had some level of knowledge about Russia's plans or intentions to invade Ukraine before it started on 24 February 2022.

U.S. media: China asks Russia to attack Ukraine after the Winter Olympics

After Russia invaded Ukraine, the outside world suspected that the CCP secretly helped Russia. A few days ago, a Western intelligence report showed that senior CCP officials told senior Russian officials in early February 2022 not to attack Ukraine before the end of the Beijing Winter Olympics.
According to several senior Biden administration officials and a European official, a Western intelligence report shows that senior Chinese officials told senior Russian officials in early February not to attack Ukraine before the end of the Beijing Winter Olympics, The New York Times reported.
The report said that prior to Russia's February 24 aggression against Ukraine, senior Chinese officials had a certain level of understanding of Russia's war plans or intentions.
The New York Times said the intelligence about the conversation between the Chinese and Russian officials was classified and was collected by a Western intelligence agency, and officials who reviewed the intelligence believed it was credible.
The intelligence was shared by senior U.S. and allied government officials as they discussed when Putin might attack Ukraine, the report said, but different intelligence agencies had their own interpretations and it was unclear how widespread the information was shared.
Before the opening of the Beijing Winter Olympics on 4 February 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin met with Xi Jinping there, during which the two sides issued a 5,000-word joint statement saying that the relationship between the two sides went beyond the model of military and political alliance during the Cold War, "the friendship between the two countries has no end. There is no restricted area for cooperation.”
On 24 February, the Russian army began a full-scale attack on Ukraine, and Russia was subsequently condemned and sanctioned by the international community.
The United States, the European Union, the United Kingdom, Canada, Japan and other countries have decided to expel Russian banks from the SWIFT (Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication) international settlement system.
However CCP opposes international sanctions against Russia. On 28 February 2022, Wang Wenbin, spokesperson of the CCP Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said at a press conference that China does not support the use of sanctions to solve problems, and even opposes unilateral sanctions, "China and Russia are comprehensive strategic partners of coordination, and China and Russia will continue to carry out trade cooperation".
On 4 February 2022, during the meeting between Xi Jinping and Putin before the opening of the Beijing Winter Olympics, the two sides signed 15 cooperation documents, including the purchase and sale agreement for Russia to export oil, natural gas, wheat and other commodities to CCP China.
Xie Tian, a professor at the Aiken School of Business at the University of South Carolina, told The Epoch Times on 1 March 2022 that even if countries impose economic sanctions on Russia and other aspects of banks, the CCP has recently signed 15 agreements, and it can continue to buy Russian natural gas and oil, and provide Putin with some of the foreign exchange that the CCP earned in Europe and the United States.
Xie Tian said that in this case, there is a huge loophole in this sanctions link, "You sanction here, and the CCP carries out counter-sanctions there, so it will not have any effect."
Xie Tian believes that Putin started attacking Ukraine three days after the Beijing Winter Olympics ended. The CCP not only does not stop it but also cooperates with Russia’s invasion.
CCP China abstained during a United Nations General Assembly vote Wednesday on a nonbinding resolution calling on Russia to halt its war on Ukraine and withdraw its military forces. Just five nations opposed the resolution – Russia, Belarus, Eritrea, North Korea and Syria – which passed with 141 aye votes.
Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered a "special military operation" on 24 February 2022. As a result, Ukraine has endured seven days of brutal fighting that has resulted in the death of roughly 2,000 Ukrainians and 5,000 Russian soldiers, according to Ukraine's State Emergency Service.
International Criminal Court launches probe into possible war crimes into Ukraine
Reporter : Jess Bravin, The Wall Street Journal
The International Criminal Court opened an investigation into possible war crimes in Ukraine, an early step in a process that potentially could lead to Russian President Vladimir Putin and other Kremlin leaders being charged at The Hague.
ICC prosecutor Karim Khan said this week he would start an investigation “as rapidly as possible,” encompassing violations already compiled as well as “any new alleged crimes falling within the jurisdiction of my Office that are committed by any party to the conflict on any part of the territory of Ukraine.”
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Russia “categorically rejects” the investigation, noting that Russia isn’t part of the ICC, the Tass news service reported.
A State Department spokesman said the U.S. supported “using every tool available” to hold Russia to account for any human-rights abuses or violations of international law.
Ukraine has been seeking an ICC investigation since 2014, after Russia annexed Crimea. In 2019, the court prosecutor’s office found reasonable basis to believe that war crimes--including intentional targeting of civilians, torture and sexual violence--had been committed in eastern regions where Russian-backed separatists were fighting the central government. But the prosecutor’s office, strapped by other cases and facing obstacles including the covid pandemic in pursuing the investigation, put the Ukraine investigation on hold.
Russia’s February invasion changed that calculus. Mr. Khan, a British lawyer who in June began a nine-year term as the ICC’s third prosecutor, said the effort would require additional support from world governments. “I will continue to closely follow developments on the ground in Ukraine, and again call for restraint and strict adherence to the applicable rules of international humanitarian law,” he said. He invited anyone with relevant information to contact his office via email: otp.informationdesk@icc-cpi.int.
Both the U.S. and Russia have had erratic relationships with the ICC. Washington helped lead negotiations to create a permanent international war-crimes court in the 1990s, to replace ad-hoc tribunals the United Nations established to prosecute humanitarian offenses in the Yugoslavia and Rwanda conflicts. President Bill Clinton signed the Rome Statute of the ICC with reservations because the treaty didn’t give the U.S. power to block investigations of its personnel. President George W. Bush withdrew entirely over similar concerns.
Russia likewise signed but did not ratify the Rome Statute, and in 2016 withdrew altogether after the ICC classified Moscow’s annexation of Crimea as an occupation.
The U.S. and Russia did support U.N. Security Council referrals of two cases to the ICC, those involving Sudan’s Darfur region, in 2005, and Libya in 2011. The ICC holds jurisdiction in states that have ratified the Rome Statute or accepted the court’s authority for more limited purposes--as has Ukraine--or when the Security Council refers a case to it.
In September 2020, the Trump administration, fearing a possible investigation into allegations of American war crimes in Afghanistan, banned the ICC’s then-prosecutor and a senior aide from the U.S. and imposed other sanctions. U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo called the court “a thoroughly broken and corrupted institution” and said the U.S. “will not tolerate its illegitimate attempts to subject Americans to its jurisdiction.”
No Americans have been charged in any ICC proceeding, and the Biden administration canceled the sanctions last year.

Russia frequently leaks secrets, Putin's internal instability
Although the Russian army looks menacing at the moment, this steel mesh seems to have many holes. Yesterday, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko broadcasted a security meeting live on the web to demonstrate his personal deployment and command.
As a result, it was discovered that on the operational map behind him, the Ukrainian territory was divided into four areas, which Ukrainian military bases were destroyed by the missiles launched by Belarus, and the route map of the troop transportation. The capital Kyiv and other important hubs are also marked.
Experts point out that the map appears to show that the attack targets include Moldova, Ukraine's southwestern neighbour, as well as Romania. Even the Belarusian journalist doing the broadcast blurted out, "This looks like an actual invasion plan."
If it is said that Lukashenko has become a teammate of pigs and is inadvertently leaking secrets, then another type of leak is more terrifying for Putin.
ON 2 March 2022, the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense released a document leaked from the Russian military, showing that the planned invasion of Ukraine was approved on 18 January 2022, and the initial plan was to completely occupy Ukraine from 20 February to 6 March 2022.
Putin is indeed executing according to this plan, because he officially recognized the independence of the two states of Luhansk and Donetsk from February 21 and sent troops there, which officially opened the prelude to the war of aggression against Ukraine. On the 20th the day before, the Beijing Winter Olympics had just ended, so the previous media report that Xi Jinping privately begged Putin not to invade during the Winter Olympics was accurate. Putin did save Xi Jinping a little face.
This involves the situation on the Ukrainian side, and we will talk about it later.
On 1 March 2022, the head of the Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council Daninov also disclosed an intelligence that an assassination attempt against Zelensky, directed by the Chechen leader Kadyrov, was foiled, and the intelligence came from internal members of the Security Bureau of the Russian Federation.
The statement about the source of the intelligence here is very striking, because generally, the source of valuable confidential information will not be easily disclosed. This is common sense. Therefore, Ukraine made no secret of saying that the news came from the Russian intelligence system. It is not ruled out that it is a form of information warfare, deliberately misleading the direction of the Russian investigation or it may be another bold idea. The most dangerous place is the safest. I will say it openly. Maybe you do not have any doubts.

Ukrainian "people" and elements have an advantage
As of 9 am on 2 March, the official statistics of the Russian army's battle losses were released. The Russian army has lost 5,840 people, more than 200 tanks and nearly 900 infantry fighting vehicles, as well as at least 30 aircraft and the same number of helicopters.
How much Ukraine has lost itself, I have not seen credible figures so far, but in general, the battle loss ratio of the offensive and defensive sides is at least 3:1 to start, and we can swagger from the Russian military convoy to assemble up to tens of kilometers without fear From the bombing point of view, Ukraine's lack of an effective mass destruction capability is also objective.
Anyone who has read "Sun Tzu's Art of War" knows that the victory or defeat of a war has always been determined by the right time, place and three factors. In terms of time and place, Russia and Ukraine are now roughly equal, and neither of them has an obvious advantage. However, in terms of the most critical people and this factor, Ukraine's advantage can be said to be overwhelming.
Yesterday, the European Parliament accepted Ukraine's application for EU membership with 637 votes in favour, 13 against and 26 abstentions. When Zelensky gave a speech at the European Parliament, the audience stood up and applauded. When the Russian Foreign Minister spoke at the International Conference on Disarmament in Geneva, he was greeted by a tidal wave of diplomats from many countries leaving the venue in stark contrast.
On the other hand, even on the battlefield where the two armies confront each other, Ukraine has an absolute advantage in terms of "people". So far, we have seen quite a few live videos showing varying numbers of Russian troops voluntarily laying down their weapons and surrendering, but no Ukrainian soldiers have voluntarily surrendered.
Yesterday, near Kharkov, a large number of Russian soldiers surrendered voluntarily, some of whom even smiled at the camera.
Another video shows that after a hungry young Russian soldier surrendered, the local people enthusiastically brought pancakes and hot tea, and a woman called the soldier's mother in front of him. In an instant, the soldier who was gulps burst into tears.
The video was quickly circulated on major social media, with more than 800,000 views and 12,000 retweets on one Twitter account alone, touching countless netizens and letting the world see that there are always brilliant people in the cruel war.
Why is the morale of the Russian army so low? The Russian army was treated extremely poorly, eating expired food, and the death pension was only more than 100 US dollars, which was in huge contrast with the compensation that Ukraine paid to surrendering soldiers as high as more than 40,000 US dollars and the EU green card. This is only one aspect.
More importantly, on the other hand, we see that many Russian soldiers are very young. They may not know why they are here to fight. They may have a hard time understanding, why they go to the neighbor's house to kill and fire, and then declare that This is for the safety of one's own home. Why can one's own home be bombed with machine guns, while the neighbors are not allowed to have knives? So-called "demilitarization" is necessary?
All these questions show us a basic truth in warfare since ancient times: The success or failure of a war is determined by the back and forth of people’s hearts.
Therefore, from this perspective, Putin has already lost the war, and he is doomed to a disastrous defeat both morally and strategically. Regardless of whether the Kyiv battle can be saved or not, the future Ukraine will no longer be "part of Russian history" as Putin said, but will become a part of Ukrainian history.

Finance war and cyber warfare escalate Putin unprecedented isolation
Speaking of backlash, let's briefly talk about another front, which is sanctions from the international community.
When it comes to sanctions, it will definitely not come as quickly as the effect of the sword on the battlefield, right, but everything comes with pros and cons, and good and bad. Although there is no blood in financial sanctions, the breadth and depth of their impact are huge, even no less than the thermobaric bomb dropped by Putin.
On 2 March 2022, the Russian corporate giants had a dark day in London that they will never forget, and arguably so dark they could barely see their fingers.
The stock price of Russia's largest bank in London was directly cleared, and the stock price of Sberbank fell by 99.99%! In addition, Russia's so-called world's largest vertically integrated oil and gas company Lukoil shares fell 99.7%. Shares in Novatek, Russia's largest independent natural gas producer, plunged 99.6%.
Such a scene can already be described as a horror movie, or in other words, this is also a real war, a financial war.
This is not over yet, the financial avalanche effect has spread to key real industrial fields. So far, we have seen Intel, AMD, and TSMC cut off chip supply to Russia; giants such as Apple, Microsoft, Dell, Boeing, and BMW have successively cut off their supplies to Russia. Even China's local computer giant, Lenovo, had to follow up with sanctions and stop sales to Russia. And this may well be true to the once-popular saying: It's just the beginning.
This is a very rare, full-scale attack launched by the entire international community against a regime in the true sense. It is a real unrestricted war, from the government to the people, from traditional land, sea and air to modern virtual space and outer space, from the white road to the underworld, all covered.
Speaking of underworld, let's take a simple example.
Anonymous, the world's largest hacker group, announced on 2 March 2022 that it has successfully paralyzed the control centre of the Russian state space company Roscosmos, making it impossible for Russia to contact and control its own spy satellites. Before that, "Anonymous" had attacked and paralyzed at least more than 1,500 important websites in Russia.
In such an isolated situation, it is unbelievable that Russia actually sent four fighter jets to directly invade Sweden's airspace on 2 March 2022, and a helicopter invaded Japan's airspace at the same time.
When Putin and Xi Jinping held a high-level drinking party and shook hands, they would never have imagined that they would face such a situation as today. They originally thought that the big deal was a replica of the annexation of Crimea in 2014.
Under such a face-to-face blow, Putin has repeatedly issued unintelligible threats to use nuclear weapons, and at the same time firmly bound Xi Jinping, which is a matter of course. This involves the situation of the CCP.

To bind Beijing? Russia leaks the main points of the Putin-Xi conversation
On 25 February 2022, the day after Putin's invasion of Ukraine, Putin and Xi Jinping had a phone call, and both sides published relevant news on their official web pages.
This news did not attract the attention of the outside world. It was not until the Russian Embassy in China shared the news again on the official WeChat account on 28 February 2022, which attracted public attention.
In the Russian report, three main points were described:
1. Putin gave a detailed introduction to the implementation of the invasion plan, implying that the progress is going well and he will soon go to Minsk to negotiate.
2. Xi Jinping agreed to closely coordinate and support each other with Putin, and "will never allow the use of illegal sanctions to achieve the self-interested goals of individual countries."
3. It is implied that the two men had already fully discussed the invasion plan as early as the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympics on 4 February.
Comparing the official reports of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, we can see that only the first point is mentioned, and the latter two points are not mentioned at all.
Putin threw out this report through social media platforms three days after the incident and the situation changed dramatically, apparently for two purposes:
One is to let the whole world know that the invasion of Ukraine is the result of mutual consultation and mutual support between CCP China and Russia and that Putin is not fighting alone.
The other is to remind Xi Jinping that when Russia suffers major sanctions, you must give money to support Russia, and he must help Putin with the bottom line. This is what Xi Jinping promised.
The real key message here is that "the leaders of the two countries emphasized the importance of strengthening bilateral pragmatic cooperation, taking into account the results of the talks between the two sides in Beijing on February 4." This sentence.
This sentence follows the content of Sino-Russian cooperation in opposing sanctions, so it is obvious that the two presidents have fully discussed the possible sanctions on 4 February 2022. Why discuss sanctions? Of course because Putin wants to act.
In other words, the Russian embassy in China disclosed the explosive information that "Xi Jinping knew on 4 February we were going to invade Ukraine" in an implicit way.
In the evening of 25 February, CCTV temporarily inserted a news item "Xi Jinping and Putin talking" on the news network. The announcer Kang Hui read the manuscript with his head down. But at the time of the replay, that part has been removed.
Why is the CCP so sensitive to the call between Xi Jinping and Putin on the 25th? This may be the reason: If Xi Jinping was found to have known that Putin was going to invade Ukraine, he would no longer be a "pro-Russian neutral" but an "accomplice in the invasion of Ukraine."
This is not a trivial matter because it means that the avalanche-style full-dimensional attack that is sweeping is likely to involve the CCP as well. We have seen the CCP commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Sino-US Shanghai Communiqué in a high-profile manner these past two days, and woo the US. There must be a reason for this small-scale calculation.

On the escalation of the Russia-Ukraine war, German media: Beijing's cooperation is needed to solve the crisis
Editor :Wu Jiayu / news.tvbs.com.tw/world/1730345
The war launched by Russia against Ukraine is still escalating, and the Western camp has imposed economic sanctions but whether it can stop Moscow’s aggression has aroused discussions.
German media said that only by joining hands with China can Russia truly fall into isolation. It is necessary for the German government to start relevant discussions with Beijing.
Deutsche Welle Chinese website quoted the German media "Frankfurt Allgemeine Zeitung" (FAZ) as a guest commentary on 2 March to make the above report. The comment, titled "The Road to Moscow Can't Go Around Beijing," said, "The view that China will be unconditionally loyal to Russia is clearly wrong. China abstained in the Security Council vote on the Russia resolution. The statement made by the Chinese ambassador to the United Nations, Zhang Jun, gives reason to believe that Beijing does not support Russian military action.”
In addition, the comments mentioned that Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi also emphasized that "the current situation is something that no one wants to see". He again urged all parties to resolve the dispute by peaceful means.
In addition to the close strategic consensus between Russian President Vladimir Putin and CCP Chinese President Xi Jinping, the extent to which Beijing will provide Russia with economic support is still unknown, the commentary said.
Even if it does not support the sanctions action by the international community, China still has effective ways to sanction Russia, such as abandoning the newly signed natural gas agreement. In fact, some Chinese state-owned banks have begun to restrict lending for imports of Russian gas.
Comments and said that Russia's military action against Ukraine will make CCP China pay a heavy economic price. The war has not only shaken global stock markets, it has also led to supply chain tensions, rising shipping prices and global inflation.
The Russian-Ukrainian war has put China's One Belt, One Road project at risk of bankruptcy. In the long run, it is not in the interests of the CCP leadership that Europe and the United States are in a state of instability.
The commentator believes that direct dialogue with Beijing is the top priority of the German government. Only in this way can the world understand Beijing's intentions and urge Beijing to support the EU's position.
For China to influence Russia, Beijing will have to offer conditions but it is important to know how Beijing will bid, and the sooner the better, so that discussions within the German government and with European allies can begin to decide what benefits Beijing can offer.
The commentator said, "When Europe is on the brink of a full-blown war, we must boldly and calmly judge all possible solutions.”
Within the framework of the "One Belt, One Road" project, the railway freight volume between continental Europe and China has doubled in recent years but the Russia-Ukraine war has cast a question mark on the future of the China-Europe railway.
The report quoted German newspaper DIE WELT as saying, "A company involved in the China-Europe railway project said that the CCP government very much does not want rail freight to be interrupted. After all, the significance of this project costing hundreds of billions of dollars is not limited to the opening of commerce and trade. Route. Along the China-Europe Corridor, China has invested in many projects in Ukraine and other countries, involving fields such as agriculture and energy.”
According to the report, China is Ukraine's most important trading partner. Ukraine buys Chinese industrial products and exports corn and other grain products to China. Beijing hopes to use trade and investment to expand the scope of its own interests, and historical trade routes have facilitated this. (Central News Agency)

UN General Assembly overwhelmingly passes resolution: Russia withdraws troops unconditionally
Reporter : Luo Tingting / Editor: Wen Hui / https://www.ntdtv.com/gb/2022/03/03/a103362785.html
On 2 March 2022, the UN General Assembly overwhelmingly passed a resolution condemning Russia's aggression against Ukraine and urging Moscow to withdraw its troops unconditionally. China again abstained in the vote.
The 3-day joint assembly was the first "emergency special session" convened by the United Nations in more than 40 years. The 193 member states voted on the situation in Ukraine and finally passed the resolution with 141 votes in favour, 5 votes against, and 35 abstentions.
The resolution condemned Russia's aggression against Ukraine in the strongest terms and urged Russia to immediately cease the use of force and "withdraw immediately, completely and unconditionally from Ukraine's internationally recognized borders".
The resolution also called on Russia to reverse its decision to recognize two separatist regions in eastern Ukraine as "independent regions."
Among them, five countries, Russia, Belarus, North Korea, Eritrea and Syria, voted against it, and 35 countries, including China, India, and Iran, chose to abstain. Another 141 countries voted in favour. When the voting results came out, the delegates stood up and applauded.
Although the resolution is not legally binding, it is influential in reflecting international opinion, represents a symbolic victory for Ukraine and exacerbates Moscow's international isolation, and even Serbia, Russia's traditional ally, voted in favor of the resolution ticket.
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres praised the message of the UN General Assembly resolution: "Immediately stop fighting in Ukraine, silence the guns, and open the door to dialogue and diplomacy. Ukraine's territorial integrity and sovereignty must be respected in accordance with the UN Charter."
Linda Thomas-Greenfield, the U.S. ambassador to the U.N., urged other U.N. members to hold Russia accountable for its aggression against Ukraine.
She said the images showed Russian troops delivering heavy weapons to Ukraine, including cluster munitions and vacuum bombs, lethal weapons banned by international law and should not be on the battlefield.
Russia's ambassador to the United Nations, Vassily Nebenzia, has denied that Russian forces have attacked Ukrainian civilians.
On 1 March, the second largest city in Ukraine, Kharkiv, was bombarded and bombed by the Russian army. An office building was hit and set on fire, and a university and police station were also attacked. Local officials said on the 2nd that in the past 24 hours, at least 21 people were killed and 112 injured in the bombing.
The National Emergency Service under the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine reported on Facebook on the 2nd: "During the seven days of the war, Russia destroyed hundreds of transportation infrastructure, residential buildings, hospitals and kindergartens. During this time, there have been more than 2,000 Ukrainians died, not counting our defenders."
It has been a week since Russia invaded Ukraine, and it has not yet conquered major cities in Ukraine. Instead, Russia faces unprecedented international sanctions and is isolated in the international community.
At present, Russia's financial system has been hit hard by international sanctions, large multinational companies have withdrawn from Russia, and many countries have closed their airspace to Russia.

Anonymous hacked into Putin's luxury yacht, global hackers fight against Russia
Reporter : Qiao An / https://www.ntdtv.com/gb/2022/03/02/a103362643.html
After Russia invaded Ukraine, a hacker group called "Anonymous" launched an attack on Russia, but at the same time received a violent counterattack from Russia hackers.
On 2 March 2022, the well-known hacker group "Anonymous" tweeted that "Putin's yacht is on the right course."
It turned out that "Anonymous" successfully hacked the "Elegance", which is rumored to be Putin's luxury yacht, and changed the name in the yacht system to the cursed Putin's name ("FCKPTN"), and the sailing destination was also changed to hell (" HELL").
When Russia began its invasion of Ukraine, Anonymous tweeted to call in hackers around the world to launch a cyberattack on Russia.
A few days later, the group announced that it had taken down the websites of Russian oil giant Gazprom, state-owned TV station Russia Today and the Kremlin, among many other Russian and Belarusian government agencies.
In addition, the group disrupted Russian internet service providers, leaked documents and emails of Belarusian arms manufacturers, and shut down gas supplies to Russian telecoms service Tvingo Telecom.
However, Russian hackers are not to be outdone. According to reports, the hacker group Killnet has paralyzed a major website related to the "Anonymous" organization, as well as the headquarters of the Ukrainian neo-Nazi political party "Right Sector Party", as well as Ukraine Network of the Office of the President.
Since Tuesday, the official website of the "Anonymous" organization (anonymoushackers.net) has been disabled, and users can only see the error message "the website is not working".

Russian troops attack residential areas, Chinese consulate asks Chinese students to evacuate themselves
Reporter : Li Lan / https://www.ntdtv.com/gb/2022/03/03/a103362709.html / Images : Video Screenshots
Russian forces have expanded their attacks on more Ukrainian cities, including Kherson near Crimea. Come and hear what the locals have to say. At the same time, under the war, the CCP Chinese consulate in Kyiv asked Chinese students to evacuate on their own, causing the students to cry and collapse.
Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said on 2 March that the Russian armed forces have taken full control of the southern Ukrainian city of Kherson on the border with Crimea but the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense denied the claim.
Sasha, a Ukrainian living in Kherson, sent this station the current situation.
Sasha, a resident of Kherson, Ukraine, said, "Hello everyone, now I'm in Kherson. Now let me tell you what happened. There are a lot of tanks in Freedom Square."
"Everyone stayed at home, we couldn't go there, and we were forbidden to go out. Couldn't get out for some reason, could get shot, could be shot. Can't go out on the street because of the possibility of being attacked. The situation is very tense."
On the seventh day of Russia's invasion of Ukraine, it intensified its attacks on residential areas, and people were afraid to take to the streets. Although the Chinese Embassy in Ukraine announced the evacuation of overseas Chinese by chartered vehicles, the actual situation is that Chinese students from all over Ukraine cannot reach the designated places on their own, and from the current information, the evacuation action is not aimed at everyone.
Chinese student in Ukraine said, "I'm very scared now, I really want to ask the country for help, I've called you over and over again, I'm really about to collapse. You don't have any measures at all, just let us do it ourselves Evacuation, self-evacuation, I don’t know where are those people who say on Weibo every day that the country is with us? I just want to say that when you evacuate, when will you be able to line up with me?”
Staff of the Chinese Embassy in Ukraine said, "If you can't do (self-evacuation), you can buy supplies and stay in Kyiv."
Chinese students in Ukraine said, "How do we get to the border, we are all students, and there is no chartered car, how do we get to the border!"
Staff of the CCP Embassy in Ukraine said, "If you wait for us to organize, wait patiently for us in Kyiv, because Kyiv does not have the conditions for large-scale safe evacuation of overseas Chinese."
Chinese student in Ukraine said, "To put it bluntly, I still don't get any help."
Chinese students in Ukraine have sent out distress messages on Weibo.
"Save us. The embassy didn't come to save us. Now let us save ourselves. No matter what we are, please help us. Please forward it to attract domestic attention."
Multiple channels of information show that some Ukrainian overseas Chinese have been shot by Russian troops while evacuating themselves.
Chinese students in Ukraine said, "When we were leaving, the Russian army had 7-8 tanks and armored vehicles that shot us. We Chinese and Chinese still have one shot in the hospital."
However, the little pinkies who have been brainwashed and educated by the CCP for a long time still publish anti-humanity remarks on the mainland's online platforms.
A little pinky made by the CCP's brainwashing said, "I am willing to donate 6,000 RMB to my brothers in Russia, hoping that President Putin can launch a nuclear warhead as soon as possible."
Wang Jixian, a Chinese citizen who is now in Odessa, Ukraine, "What benefit does Putin give you? Putin sent troops to come here to have fun. This is Chinese in Odessa and Ukraine. Among my colleagues, there are Russians and Ukrainians. Russians don’t support Putin so much, you support Putin more than the Russians. I don’t care who I am, I am a person first, I respect life, and people have the right to live.”

Four Russian fighter jets violate Swedish airspace while military exercise with Finland takes place
Reporter : Chris Jewers, Daily Mail / https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10571337/FOUR-Russian-fighter-jets-violate-Swedish-airspace.html
Sweden said four Russian fighter jets violated its airspace over the Baltic Sea on 2 March 2022 as Moscow forces continued to bombard cities in Ukraine. The four aircraft, two SU-27 and two SU-24 fighters, flew briefly over Swedish airspace east of the island of Gotland, according to a statement from the Swedish Armed Forces.
The incident came days after Russian President Vladimir Putin threatened military action against Sweden and neighbouring Finland should either join NATO. The countries are currently conducting joint military exercises.
"In light of the current situation we are very concerned about the incident," Swedish Air Force chief Carl-Johan Edstrom said. "This is unprofessional and irresponsible behaviour from the Russian side."
Swedish fighter jets were scrambled and took photographs of the Russian jets, the statement said.
"This shows that our readiness is good. We were in place to secure the territorial integrity and Swedish borders,' Edstrom said. 'We have total control of the situation."
"The Russian violation of Swedish airspace is of course completely unacceptable," Defence Minister Peter Hultqvist told news agency TT.
"It will lead to a firm diplomatic response from Sweden. Swedish sovereignty and territory must always be respected."
Sweden on Sunday said it would send military aid, including 5,000 anti-tank weapons to Ukraine, the first time since 1939 that Sweden has sent weapons to a country at war.

Miles Yu shares lesson of Ukraine
The lesson for Taiwan from the situation in Ukraine is that
hostile authoritarian neighbours are not deterred when alliances between their
targets and other democracies are ambiguous, Hudson Institute senior fellow
Miles Yu (余茂春) said on 1 March 2022.
Yu — who was former US secretary of state Mike Pompeo’s top China adviser — made the comments in a telephone interview with the Liberty Times (the sister newspaper of the Taipei Times) the day before the two of them were to land in Taiwan.
Pompeo is meeting President Tsai Ing-wen (蔡英文) on 3
March 2022 and speaking at a Prospect Foundation event.
Kyiv over the past few decades has walked a fine line trying to favor other European nations and Russia, but showed no conviction in its allegiances, Yu told the Liberty Times. It even courted China’s protection when taking the middle road became unviable, he said.
In 2013, then-Ukrainian president Viktor Yanukovych signed a
friendship pact with Beijing to gain access to China’s nuclear umbrella, which
irked Moscow and possibly triggered the Russian invasion of Crimea, Yu said.
However, China sent no help to Ukraine, despite benefiting from
Kyiv’s export of military goods at a discount, including an aircraft carrier,
amphibious attack ships and heavy bombers, he said.
“There is no middle way in confronting an authoritarian regime,”
he said.

Miles Yu praises Tsai Ing-wen, criticizes Kuomintang
When asked about reports that Tsai’s policies have antagonized
Beijing, Yu criticized the pan-blue camp.
“The Tsai administration is not anti-China; it merely does not
curry favor with China,” he said.
“Such a display of weakness would have emboldened the Chinese
Communist Party to make Taiwan’s life more miserable,” he said.
Decades of work by Taiwanese have led to the nation becoming the
most progressive democracy in Asia and a key player in world trade,
achievements worthy of pride, he said.
To believe the political and cultural miracle of Taiwan has earned
the country a place in the global community is not antagonistic, he said,
adding, “Only the Communist Party believes that not currying its favour is being
antagonistic.”
The advantage of democracy is that leaders cannot negotiate with
foreign powers in secret or trade away the country’s future in defiance of the
people’s wishes, he said.
Separately, Yu on Monday told Radio Free Asia that opposition
politicians are mistaken in believing that the U.S. would send arms to Taiwan but refuse to fight for it, as former president Ma Ying-jeou (馬英九) has said.
“This argument reflects a lack of principle and conviction,” Yu
said.
He said that South Korea and Kuwait had similar concerns that the U.S. would out
of selfishness refrain from sending military forces to fight off invaders but
such anxieties were proven wrong time and again.
He added that senior officials in Japan and Australia have expressed willingness
to militarily defend Taiwan, which shows that the nation’s neighbors share its
fears about Chinese aggression, he said.
The risk of harm to “Taiwan is one part of the threat China poses,
which has concerned numerous other parties,” he said.

Tsai Ing-wen presents medal to Pompeo
The Central News Agency reported that on the morning of the 3rd, President Tsai Ing-wen awarded the "Special Ribbon Star Medal" to former U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo at the Presidential Palace, expressing his deepest gratitude on behalf of the Taiwanese people for his outstanding contributions to improving Taiwan-U.S. relations.
Tsai Ing-wen said that Pompeo not only supported Taiwan's international participation for a long time, but also brought many breakthroughs to Taiwan-U.S. relations during his tenure, including lifting restrictions on exchanges with Taiwan, normalizing arms sales to Taiwan, and increasing the level of high-level mutual visits between Taiwan and the United States, all of which deepen the interaction and cooperation between the two sides.
Tsai Ing-wen pointed out that Pompeo's popularity in Taiwan is very high. As soon as the news of his visit came out, it immediately attracted a lot of attention and discussion. He hopes to visit often in the future and work together to continue to deepen Taiwan-U.S. relations.

Pompeo said that he was honoured to accept this medal, and said that he finally met the Taiwanese people after a long time.
Pompeo said that if people took freedom for granted in the past, just look at what is happening in Europe and know that freedom should not be taken for granted. It needs sustained, deep, collaborative leadership to maintain.
Pompeo said that he believes that Taiwan and the United States have the determination to safeguard freedom from offense, and that everyone has the right to safeguard their own freedom and stand together.

Su Zhenchang meets Pompeo
In the afternoon of 3 March, President of the Republic of China Su Zhenchang received Pompeo at the Executive Yuan.
Su Zhenchang said that he warmly welcomes Pompeo to Taiwan. Although Pompeo is in Taiwan for the first time, he is no stranger to the affirmation he gave to Taiwan in the past and his voice for Taiwan in the international arena. He also said that during his tenure in office, Pompeo has sold weapons and arms to Taiwan's defense as many as 10 times, and has also lifted some restrictions on Taiwan officials to the United States. He is warm and kind.
Su Zhenchang also said that Pompeo has enhanced Taiwan-U.S. relations during his tenure, and the U.S. has repeatedly said that Taiwan-US relations are rock-solid. It is hoped that on a rock-solid basis, Taiwan is very much looking forward to Taiwan's contribution to the world, and the friendship between Taiwan and the US will become stronger so that the aggressors who want to have bad intentions against Taiwan dare not act rashly.
Pompeo said that during his four years as Secretary of State and six years as a member of Congress, he deeply felt that the world is divided into two camps, dictatorship and freedom. The dictatorship camp always wants to interfere with people who want to live freely. He realizes that Taiwan wants to belong to this group of people who want to live freely and Taiwan is also working very hard to defend their freedom. He has also worked very hard to strengthen the already strong relationship between Taiwan and the United States.
Pompeo also said that neighbouring countries are aware of the threat posed by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), and everyone must find a way to stand up and let the CCP know the importance of respecting human rights, respect the dignity of the people, and respect Taiwanese people's right to pursue a free life. The United States will strongly support Taiwan's pursuit of this right.

The messenger RNA (mRNA) from Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine is able to enter human liver cells and is converted into DNA, according to Swedish researchers at Lund University.
The researchers found that when the mRNA vaccine enters the human liver cells, it triggers the cell’s DNA, which is inside the nucleus, to increase the production of the LINE-1 gene expression to make mRNA.
The mRNA then leaves the nucleus and enters the cell’s cytoplasm, where it translates into LINE-1 protein. A segment of the protein called the open reading frame-1, or ORF-1, then goes back into the nucleus, where it attaches to the vaccine’s mRNA and reverse transcribes into spike DNA.
Reverse transcription is when DNA is made from RNA, whereas the normal transcription process involves a portion of the DNA serving as a template to make an mRNA molecule inside the nucleus.
“In this study we present evidence that COVID-19 mRNA vaccine BNT162b2 is able to enter the human liver cell line Huh7 in vitro,” the researchers wrote in the study, published in Current Issues of Molecular Biology. “BNT162b2 mRNA is reverse transcribed intracellularly into DNA as fast as 6 [hours] after BNT162b2 exposure.”
BNT162b2 is another name for the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine that is marketed under the brand name Comirnaty.
The whole process occurred rapidly within six hours. The vaccine’s mRNA converting into DNA and being found inside the cell’s nucleus is something that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said would not happen.
“The genetic material delivered by mRNA vaccines never enters the nucleus of your cells,” the CDC said on its web page titled “Myths and Facts about COVID-19 Vaccines.”
This is the first time that researchers have shown in vitro or inside a petri dish how an mRNA vaccine is converted into DNA on a human liver cell line, and is what health experts and fact-checkers said for over a year couldn’t occur.
The CDC says that the “COVID-19 vaccines do not change or interact with your DNA in any way,” claiming that all of the ingredients in both mRNA and viral vector COVID-19 vaccines (administered in the United States) are discarded from the body once antibodies are produced. These vaccines deliver genetic material that instructs cells to begin making spike proteins found on the surface of SARS-CoV-2 that causes COVID-19 to produce an immune response.
Pfizer didn’t comment on the findings of the Swedish study and said only that its mRNA vaccine does not alter the human genome.
“Our COVID-19 vaccine does not alter the DNA sequence of a human cell,” a Pfizer spokesperson told The Epoch Times in an email. “It only presents the body with the instructions to build immunity.”
More than 215 million or 64.9 percent of Americans are fully vaccinated as of Feb. 28, with 94 million having received a booster dose.
The Swedish study also found spike proteins expressed on the surface of the liver cells that researchers say may be targeted by the immune system and possibly cause autoimmune hepatitis, as “there [have] been case reports on individuals who developed autoimmune hepatitis after BNT162b2 vaccination.”
The authors of the first reported case of a healthy 35-year-old female who developed autoimmune hepatitis a week after her first dose of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine said that there is a possibility that “spike-directed antibodies induced by vaccination may also trigger autoimmune conditions in predisposed individuals” as it has been shown that “severe cases of SARS-CoV-2 infection are characterized by an autoinflammatory dysregulation that contributes to tissue damage,” which the virus’s spike protein appears to be responsible for.
Spike proteins may circulate in the body after an infection or injection with a COVID-19 vaccine. It was assumed that the vaccine’s spike protein would remain mostly at the injection site and last up to several weeks like other proteins produced in the body but studies are showing that is not the case.
The Japanese regulatory agency’s biodistribution study (pdf) of the Pfizer vaccine showed that some of the mRNAs moved from the injection site and through the bloodstream, and were found in various organs such as the liver, spleen, adrenal glands, and ovaries of rats 48 hours following injection.
In a different study, the spike proteins made in the body after receiving a Pfizer COVID-19 shot have been found on tiny membrane vesicles called exosomes—that mediate cell-to-cell communication by transferring genetic materials to other cells—for at least four months after the second vaccine dose.

Russia invades Ukraine, former senior U.S. national security official: World War III has actually broken out
Reporter : Lu Yongshan / https://news.ltn.com.tw/news/world/breakingnews/3847567 / Image : Fiona Hill, a senior White House National Security Council official during Trump's tenure in response to Russia's aggression in Ukraine Fiona Hill said in an exclusive interview with Politico magazine that Putin would use nuclear weapons if needed, arguing that World War III has actually broken out. (Associated Press)
In response to Russia's aggression in Ukraine, Fiona, a former senior official of the National Security Council at the White House Fiona Hill said in an exclusive interview with Politico magazine that Putin would use nuclear weapons if needed, and believes that the third world war has actually broken out. Hill served on the White House National Security Council early in former President Trump's term.
Politico published an exclusive interview with Hill on 28 February 2022, in response to the Russian aggression in Ukraine, she believes that Putin is trying to destroy the entire world order, and the third world war is actually underway.
Hill said, "Ukraine has become the front line of the struggle, not only between democracies and authoritarian states, but also a struggle to maintain a rules-based system in which no country can take by force what it wants thing. Every country in the world should pay close attention to this."
Hill believes that Putin is trying to restore the historical dominance of the so-called Russian "empire" in the region, similar to Hitler, the Nazi leader in World War II, using a huge sense of historical resentment to protect the Russians. He is putting the blame on the US and the West to justify territorial expansion.
In response to Russia's role in European geopolitics after the collapse of the Soviet Union, Hill believes that the potential threat to Europe began as early as 2008, when NATO tried to allow Georgia and Ukraine to join. Under pressure, Ukraine subsequently withdrew its application to join NATO.
As the Ukrainian-Russian conflict escalates, Russia may be dragged into a long-term quagmire of war, and Russia is also facing global economic sanctions. In order to avoid a worsening passive situation, Putin has asked Russia's nuclear deterrent to enter a "special state of combat readiness."
Hill warned that Putin had become increasingly emotional and could use all the weapons at his disposal, including nuclear weapons but stressed that it was important for the international community not to have any illusions but not to lose hope. The world should prepare for emergencies and figure out what will be done to stop it.”

Russian troops capture Kherson, whose mayor urged Ukrainians to follow curfew rules imposed by Russian troops
Russia has captured its first major city in Ukraine after a week of fighting, with Kherson - a regional capital of 300,000 people on the Black Sea - now under the control of Putin's forces.
Igor Kolykhaiev, the city's mayor, said in an update around 1 am that "armed visitors" had stormed a council meeting and imposed new rules including a strict curfew and urged citizens to follow them but it was far from clear whether Ukrainian forces had totally withdrawn, with the UK MoD saying Thursday the situation is "unclear".

Huge explosion rocked Kyiv on 3 March 2022, Kharkiv, Chernihiv, Mariupol remain under heavy bombardment
In the early hours of Thursday a huge explosion rocked Kyiv - preceded by the blaring of air raid sirens at around 2am local time in multiple districts across the city. Kyiv's buildings were then lit up by a huge blast from a bomb.
The Kyiv Independent reported that air raid alerts were issued in multiple regions included Kyiv Oblast, Lviv, Zhytomyr, Frankivsk, Chernihiv and Odessa.
Footage from the capital, filmed from windows overlooking the city, showed at least one massive explosion that lit up the night sky, and appeared to cause a shock-wave.
Kyiv and Kharkiv, Ukraine's two largest cities, remained under a heavy bombing campaign overnight with missiles striking civilian areas - including a train station in the Ukrainian capital being used to evacuate people from the city and as a shelter for those who cannot or have chosen not to leave.
Chernihiv, in the north west, and Mariupol, in the south, also remain under Ukrainian control despite being all-but surrounded by Russian forces and coming under heavy bombardment. The mayor of Mariupol said Thursday that Russian artillery fire has been so intense that they cannot even remove wounded people from the streets.
Vadym Boichenko accused the Russians of doing "everything to block the exit of civilians" including blowing up the city's trains, leaving people stranded before the artillery opened fire. Evacuations continued elsewhere, however, with the UN estimating that 1 million people have now fled Ukraine into neighbouring countries.
Ukraine estimates that 2,000 civilians have been killed in fighting. The UN has confirmed 227 of those but said the true toll is likely far higher. War crimes prosecutors have opened a case into the deaths.

Zelenskyy called on Ukrainians to keep up the resistance, that is taking a toll on the morale of Russian soldiers
Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the Ukrainian president, issued a video address to the nation in the early hours of Thursday, giving an upbeat assessment of the war and calling on Ukrainians to keep up the resistance.
"We are a people who in a week have destroyed the plans of the enemy," he said, in the clip posted on social media. "They will have no peace here. They will have no food. They will have here not one quiet moment."
Zelensky did not comment on whether the Russians have seized several cities, including Kherson. "If they went somewhere, then only temporarily. We'll drive them out," he said.
He said the fighting is taking a toll on the morale of Russian soldiers, who "go into grocery stores and try to find something to eat." He added: 'These are not warriors of a superpower. These are confused children who have been used,' while giving the death toll at 9,000 Russian troops. The US believes the toll is actually around 6,000. Moscow has admitted only 500 deaths.
His assessment of the Russian attack was shared by several US defence analysts who said the campaign had been mismanaged, under-supplied, ineffective, and led to Moscow suffering much-higher casualties in the first few days of fighting than had been anticipated.
Ahead of the invasion, Washington had warned that Russia's superior forces would be able to quickly overwhelm Ukraine's 200,000-strong army - taking out air defences, achieving superiority in the skies, and then raining death down on those below.
But none of that has come to pass. Ukraine's skies remain contested, US intelligence says, while attacks have been piecemeal with troops under-supplied and not fighting in a coordinated fashion, leading to large numbers of dead along with some abandoning their vehicles which have then been captured.
"This is a colossal intelligence failure that vastly underestimated Ukrainian resistance, and military execution has been terrible,"Michael Vickers, former U.S. Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence, said at the Center for Strategic and International Studies.
"[Putin's] main attack has been underweighted. It's been piecemeal. His reconnaissance elements have been captured, columns have been destroyed," he said. "It's just a disaster, through and through."
However many caution that Russia's initial failures could simply pre-sage a secondary phase of the fighting in which it uses superior numbers and force of arms to surround and bomb Ukrainian troops into submission, causing large civilian casualties.
Yves Le Drian, the French foreign minister, agreed with that assessment on 3 March as he issued a warning that the "worst" is still to come as Russia switches to a "logic of siege" with major cities in danger of being surrounded.
He spoke as Europe continued to step up its assistance to Ukraine, with Germany pledging another 2,700 anti-aircraft missiles to bolster the Ukrainian defences. That comes on top of 1,000 anti-tank weapons and 500 Stinger anti-aircraft weapons it has already sent, in a stunning reversal of its long-standing pledge not to supply weapons.

Russian foreign minister likens the U.S. to Nazi Germany and warns "World War III can only be nuclear"
Reporter : Jack Newman, Daily Mail / https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10573123/Sergei-Lavrov-repeats-warning-WW3-nuclear-likens-NAZIS.html / Image : Web Screenshot
Russian foreign minister Sergei Lavrov has repeated his warning that World War III would be nuclear while at the same time accusing the West of fixating on his dire threats of destruction.
The foreign minister also compared the U.S. to Nazi Germany in his latest rant after Russian forces seized the Black Sea regional capital of Kherson in Ukraine, its first major city after a week of fighting.
Vladimir Putin's lackey said on 3 March 2022, "It is clear that World War III can only be nuclear.
"I would like to point out that it's in the heads of Western politicians that the idea of a nuclear war is spinning constantly, and not in the heads of Russians.
"Therefore I assure you that we will not allow any provocations to throw us off balance."
On Sunday, Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered Russia's nuclear forces be put on high alert, accusing the West of taking "unfriendly" steps against his country.
Moscow has the world's largest arsenal of nuclear weapons and a huge cache of ballistic missiles which form the backbone of the country's deterrence forces.
The move was followed up by comments from Lavrov yesterday in which he warned another World War would be "nuclear and destructive".
In separate comments today, Lavrov accused the U.S. of trying to conquer Europe.
He told Sky News, "Napoleon and Hitler had the objective to have the whole of Europe under their control, now Americans have got Europe under their control.
"We see that the situation what role the EU is really playing in the context of the global situation, they are just fulfiling a role.
"We see that there's a picture like in Hollywood of absolute evil and absolute good and this is unfortunate.
"I think that this hysteria will end and our partners will settle down after a while and we will sit down to negotiate but only on one absolute condition and that is as equal parties."
Lavrov has also indicated that Moscow is ready for peace talks as another meeting by Ukrainian and Russian officials is expected to take place in Belarus today.
Ahead of the meeting, he told reporters in Moscow that Russia will press its military action in Ukraine until achieving its goals, chiefly the "demilitarisation of Ukraine" but added that it will be up to Ukrainians to choose what government they should have.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said earlier Wednesday that his country was ready for talks to resume but he noted that Russia's demands had not changed and that he would not accept any ultimatum.
