Dozens of elderly people in Shanghai died, authorities urge cremation, relatives want the authorities to be held accountable

The covid epidemic in Shanghai has soared, but no official death has been announced so far. On 7 April 2022, an insider disclosed that many elderly people in Shanghai Donghai Elderly Care Hospital died of covid, and the news was suppressed by the authorities. Authorities also asked the elderly's relatives to sign a cremation agreement, and some relatives refused to let their loved ones be cremated and they are considering pursuit of the relevant authority's accountability.

As of 7 April 2022, Shanghai has claimed more than 100,000 infected people but Shanghai has reported no related deaths since the outbreak soared in March.

On 7 April, Shanghai resident Huang Jian said that many family members of the elderly posted on Weibo, exposing that the medical staff in the Shanghai Donghai Nursing Home were collectively infected and quarantined, and many elderly people in the hospital died one after another but the authorities concealed the truth.

Huang Jian, a Shanghai resident: "Many people died, and the nurses kept changing, but no one was willing to do it. Later (family members) contacted the nurse, but the nurse did not dare to tell the truth, and said the truth will get rid of the nurse. The people who have been dealt with have been dealt with, and the people who spoke to the outside world have been dealt with, so there is no way to inform you, and the media will not know.”

Another person familiar with the matter broke the news on Twitter that 4 to 6 elderly people in the nursing home live in a ward and are left unattended after cross-infection. The number of positive remains should be 30-40, and the number of negative remains is unknown. This may be the largest "secondary disaster" caused by Shanghai's epidemic prevention and control so far.

Huang Jian said, "Anyway, the government must say that there are no dead people, and death is a normal death of old age. He asked the family members to see the body, but the family members could not escape, and now the family members have no voice. The family members are all locked up, like a cage, what do you do? The family members. There is no way, it has guns, cannons, military and police, just get the family members, and there is no sound on the Internet."

Shanghai Donghai Nursing Home has 1,800 beds. Most of the elderly in the hospital have underlying diseases including those who are incapacitated, demented, or paralyzed.

On 6 April, a family member received a letter of condolences from the hospital. The letter admitted for the first time that an elderly person had died, but did not mention the number of people. On the 5th, the hospital informed the family that the ice coffin had been purchased, and the body was temporarily stored in the morgue. Let the family authorize the power of attorney to cremate the remains.

Family members are currently unable to go out due to the lockdown. Some family members believe that authorizing the cremation of the remains is not conducive to accountability for the epidemic, so they refuse to authorize it. At present, many family members of the deceased have contacted Zhang Hai, a family member of the victims of the Wuhan epidemic.

Zhang Hai, a family member of the victims of the Wuhan epidemi commented, "Because the epidemic was closed and controlled and no one was in charge, many elderly people lost their lives. At present, the Shanghai authorities hope that these family members will quickly authorize the cremation of the remains. However, many family members are very worried. Those who contradict want to the authorities to be held accountable.”

A NTD reporter contacted a family member who revealed that he was discussing rights protection measures but declined to be interviewed.

Zhang Hai: "Think about this situation in China, which lawyer would dare to accept it? In other words, the court will not accept it at all. These family members have a very contradictory mood."

The Wall Street Journal quoted family members Ms. Ma as saying that the hospital never informed her father that he was in critical condition. They were so shocked that her father died suddenly on 31 March, so they refused to cremate his body.

According to the letter from the Pudong New Area Health Commission applying for cremation of the remains, on 2 April 2022, the authorities notified Shanghai Yishan Funeral Home to coordinate the dispatch of vehicles in batches to Donghai Elderly Care Hospital, No. 8, Lane 5020, Sansan Road, Pudong New Area, to pick up the remains but the cause of death is only vaguely written "The patient died of illness in Shanghai Donghai Elderly Care Hospital, and the nucleic acid test was abnormal during hospitalization."

On the same day, Caixin reported that a nurse in Ward 9 said she had carried a deceased person out of the ward at 3 a.m. and noticed that there were still nearly ten bodies in the morgue. On 1 April, Pudong Funeral Home said that there were more than a dozen bodies in the Donghai Nursing Home, and other bodies were placed in Nanhui Funeral Home.

On the same day, the Wall Street Journal reported that people who had been to Donghai Nursing Home Hospital said they had seen at least a dozen dead old people. A nurse recalled that he saw six hearses parked in front of the hospital at night.

Whether the sudden death of so many elderly people at the same time is related to the epidemic has not yet been confirmed by the hospital.

Huang Jian said that what he learned was that the number of deaths in the hospital had reached three figures at the end of March.

He said, "Think about it, if a nursing home accepts more than 1,000 elderly people, it is impossible for only twenty or thirty people to die. The specific number, how many elderly people go to the nursing home, and how many are still alive? I don't know. The elderly have underlying diseases, and the mortality rate of covid is very high. Now not only the elderly die, but the common people in Shanghai will die.

With 4 million people over the age of 65, Shanghai is one of the cities with the largest elderly population and the most aging population in China.

The United Nations voted to expel Russia from the Human Rights Council. Why did the CCP vote against rather than abstain

The United Nations voted today to suspend Russia's membership of the United Nations Human Rights Council over allegations of serious human rights violations and war crimes during its invasion of Ukraine. When the United Nations established the Human Rights Council in 2006, there was a stipulation that countries that have seriously violated human rights could be expelled from the Human Rights Council but more than 2/3 of the votes of the United Nations were required.

Russia is the second country in history to be disqualified from membership, after Libya. This vote was in response to the proposal of the United States, with 93 votes in favour, 24 votes against, and 58 abstentions. Since the abstentions were not counted, the support votes exceeded 3/2.

Ahead of the vote, the Russian delegate urged delegates to oppose the measure, saying it was an attempt by the United States to control it. Of course Russia voted against it, as did China, on the grounds that it was too hasty and added fuel to the fire. Other countries that voted against it include Belarus, Syria, Iran, Kazakhstan and Cuba. Many African countries, including South Africa and Senegal, chose to abstain on the grounds that the resolution "predicted the outcome of the Commission of Inquiry established by the Human Rights Council in early March". Non-permanent members of the Security Council including Brazil, Mexico and India also abstained.

Why should the CCP oppose rather than abstain? The CCP chose to abstain from the 2 March UN resolution condemning Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, and the CCP also abstained on 24 March 2022 when the UN voted for Russia to withdraw its troops. The resolution on 2 March  was 141 in favour, 5 against, and 35 abstentions; on the 24th, it was 140 in favour, 5 against, and 38 abstentions. The results of the two votes were very close but this time, it can be seen that the number of support votes was nearly 50 votes, nearly 20 more votes against and 20 more abstentions.

Due to the development of the war situation from March to now, there has not been an incident of international public opinion favorable to Russia. Instead, there has been an incident in Bucha. Obviously, the decrease in the number of support votes and the increase in the number of negative votes has little to do with the situation in Russia and Ukraine. It has to do with human rights, which is why the CCP changed its stance.

Look at the increase of 19 votes out of 24 negative votes, all of which have records of human right violations in their own countries and have been criticized for a long time, including Vietnam. I remember that American journalist Ian Johnson recently wrote an article saying that the CCP lacks a position in international affairs and only cares about two things, criticism of its human rights and the Taiwan issue. Regardless of whether this statement is comprehensive or not, two things are involved in the Russian-Ukrainian war. The invasion involves Taiwan, and the war crimes involve human rights.

Some of the countries that abstained from voting were not entirely without merit. Now that the Human Rights Council has set up a commission of inquiry, it means that the matter has not yet become clear, and an investigation is needed even though the evidence so far is clearly against Russia.

Of course, the United Nations Human Rights Council has long been occupied by countries that have seriously violated human rights. This matter itself may not have such a big impact on Russia. The Trump era also withdrew from the Human Rights Council. The United Nations is currently basically powerless to deal with various serious international problems, whether it is from the epidemic, sanctions against rogue countries, or violations of human rights.

Several observations on the Bucha massacre

Regarding the atrocities of the Russian army, the most serious accusation is undoubtedly the recent massacre in the city of Bucha, a city near Kyiv. Of course, no conclusions can be drawn arbitrarily until an independent international investigation is made.

I will only talk about a few observations. One is time. Bucha was not long from the beginning of the war, because it was one of the actions of Russia to occupy Kyiv. It was occupied by the Russian army very early, and was recovered by the Ukrainian army on 1 April. Many photos and videos of civilians were killed, and many of the victims were not civilians who were accidentally injured in combat or the result of bombing but were apparently murdered on purpose. The bodies on some streets matched satellite photos during the Russian occupation, indicating that the deaths occurred during the Russian occupation, not after the Ukrainian recapture.

It can therefore be assumed that at least the vast majority of the victims were killed during the Russian occupation. As the manager of the occupation period, you should be responsible for all events that occurred during the period. Another point of mine is that war crimes against civilians should be investigated and punished regardless of the nature of the war, no matter which side it is.

From the Eight-Power Allied Forces to the end of the Anti-Japanese War, Military Discipline and Massacre in Tsarist Russia and the Soviet Union

Although what happened in Bucha may have nothing to do with history, the Russian army's poor military discipline and systematic massacres of the residents of the occupied areas are consistent, and there are few exceptions in history. The record of the Eight-Power Allied Forces entering Beijing, journalists and soldiers of other countries, the Russian military's military discipline is the worst, killing, arson, and raping women everywhere, followed by different statements, the British, French, German, and Italian have different rankings in different records. The best military discipline is Japan and the United States.

The Russian army massacred aboriginal people in the occupied area, such as Hailanpao and Jiangdong Liusitun massacre of Chinese residents, known in history as the Russian disaster in Gengzi. More than 200,000 Chinese were killed. Before the end of the Anti-Japanese War, the Soviet Union entered the Northeast region, and also committed serious war crimes against the Chinese people in the Northeast. The Northeast people hated the Soviet Red Army more than the Japanese. What is even more absurd is that after the CCP established its political power, it also committed serious war crimes against the Chinese who once resisted the Soviet Union. The army or those who later exposed the Soviet army's crimes also retaliated or even shot.

This kind of crime against civilians seems to have little to do with the social system, and the difference between the Tsarist Russia period and the Soviet period is not big. Although history cannot prove reality, being a reference can sometimes explain some problems. This human rights violation in Ukraine is not only an accusation by the Ukrainian government, the famous human rights organization "Human Rights Watch" also collected from its own sources a series of crimes committed by the Russian army in Ukraine from 27 February to 14 March. Because each case is different from the other, the credibility is quite high.

What do the covi-positive patients that rescued the fainting doctor explain about  the positive patients in the Shanghai square cabin hospital?

The epidemic in Shanghai is not out of control, but the anti-epidemic measures are out of control. The best reflection of this peculiar phenomenon is a video showing a group of people in casual clothes walking quickly carrying a person in protective clothing in the Fangcang shelter hospital of the World Expo Pavilion, as if they were taking a patient to the hospital, and the explanation was: A medic was exhausted, and a group of covi-positive patients was rescuing him.

This incident shows several problems: 1) The people who are detained in the square cabin hospital are indeed those with mild or asymptomatic infections. Many videos, including those who were sent to the square cabin hospital but were ignored and those who rescued the doctors, all look alive and alive. Yes, 2) The doctor is also in the square cabin hospital. It is said that 6 doctors have already fainted from exhaustion in just two days in this place. They are still dealing with mild and asymptomatic patients. What do the doctors do to pass out? 3) I think it's the tossing executive order that tires the doctor out. Even the secretary of the neighborhood committee who was talking to the tape recording, under this contradictory and chaotic command, was driven crazy even if he was not tired.

By the way, there was a message from the audience last time, saying that so many people died in Hong Kong, probably saying that since they are all mild and asymptomatic, what about Hong Kong? First of all, I am talking about Shanghai, using the official statement of Shanghai. If you think Shanghai has concealed the severity of the epidemic, you can ask the Shanghai Municipal Party Committee. In addition, Shanghai and Hong Kong are definitely different, just like the same kind of Omicron variant, behaves differently in the US and Europe.

Speaking of Hong Kong, I think the chaos is caused by the CCP's order to clear covid. Even Carrie Lam said that she did not know how to clear the zero, which means that the goal of clearing has not been implemented with a specific executable plan. This is the same as in Shanghai. It is nonsense and empty talk.

Stifling freedom and clearing is an end or a means

There is also a video on the Internet, which I think is the most perfect explanation for the lockdwn of Shanghai. A drone broadcasts to residents. The most important sentence is "please control your soul's desire for freedom." In normal society, this would be considered a high-level black, but in Shanghai, China, this is a serious official order. The question is whether this is an end or a means. According to the broadcast of this recording, it seems that this is a means, and the purpose is to control the epidemic, but this sentence goes beyond the epidemic and is more like an end. Controlling the epidemic has become a means, eliminating freedom, especially the pursuit of freedom is the real purpose.

The lockdown of Shanghai has caused a very unusual phenomenon, that is, the professionals or grass-roots staff who really care about the epidemic are exhausted, but some staff called Dabai are particularly active, because Dabai does not know the true nature of this group of people The identity, perhaps a volunteer, a police officer or an official, has become a superpower owner, and is particularly vicious and cruel to the people who violate the regulations. There are many videos, and there are even videos of Dabai entering the door for nucleic acid testing and throwing people downstairs.

This is actually another test of human nature. In addition to accomplishing specific political goals, the CCP’s previous political campaigns also have a role in selecting the worst from the crowd. As the party’s successor to the cause, this nationwide reset can also be regarded as a political campaign. , test the loyalty of existing officials, and unearth a new generation of evil tools.

However, in many cases the results and the motives are contradictory. More people will wake up and see the true face of the CCP, and there will be cracks in the bureaucratic system, because the clearing of the nature of this political movement will create new interest groups and bureaucrats, and will also invade the original bureaucracy class interests.

The resistance  of the people are often scattered, and the geographical and temporal dispersion will not necessarily pose a substantial threat to the CCP’s rule. However, if the epidemic is a specific situation, if the expansion speed is rapid, and the strict control and control will amplify the harm of the epidemic, it will The original internal contradictions and weaknesses of the CCP machine have exploded, and the grievances of the people have exploded. The two add up. The situation in Shanghai currently has this trend.

The party media rarely shouts not to lie down. Expert: Shanghai Gang watch Zhongnanhai jokes

After Shanghai was locked down, there were many chaos, and the CCP media rarely asked officials at all levels to "stand up" and not "lie down." Experts said that Shanghai is the hometown of the Jiang faction's anti-Xi forces. At the sensitive moment of the outbreak, the Shanghai Gang deliberately "flattened" to watch Zhongnanhai jokes.

Official media rarely discloses that Shanghai officials are "lying flat"

On 6 April, Jiefang Daily, the official newspaper of the Shanghai Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China, published a commentary "To leading cadres at all levels in Shanghai: Please stand up, share the concerns of the grassroots, and solve the problems for the people!"

The article was said to be a message to Shanghai officials on behalf of the central government by Li Qiang, a close confidant of Xi Jinping and Shanghai secretary. On the same day, Li Qiang convened a meeting on the prevention and control of the epidemic in Shanghai, emphasizing the implementation of Xi Jinping's "spirit of important instructions" and winning the "big battle" in accordance with the requirements put forward by Sun Chunlan. Shanghai Mayor Gong Zheng also proposed a battle policy at the meeting and a must-win military order.

Li Lin, a current affairs commentator, told The Epoch Times that the Shanghai Party News blatantly highlighted the conflict between the Beijing Central Committee and the Shanghai officialdom, which shows that in Xi's eyes, there is a problem with the Shanghai officialdom.

Subsequently, an article in the "Beijing Youth Daily" stated, "The central government instructs Shanghai to be resolute and decisive"! The front page of the Shanghai Party News: Leaders at all levels have no reason to delay” as the headline, pointing out the passive resistance and inaction of officials at all levels in Shanghai to the central government’s policy of closing the city and clearing the city.

The article mentioned that the vice premier of the Communist Party of China, Sun Chunlan, went to Shanghai to supervise the war, saying that the central government instructed Shanghai to be resolute and decisive, act quickly and forcefully; implement the deployment and requirements of the central and municipal committees; require officials at all levels to be brave and good at acting; there is no reason to do anything prevarication, delay, dodge.

After Sun Chunlan rushed to Shanghai on 2 April, she conveyed Xi Jinping's tough instructions, demanding that the general policy of "dynamic clearing" be unswerving. A few days later, Sun Chunlan once again lectured Shanghai officials, demanding "to ensure the normal operation of Shanghai's urban core functions."

Current affairs commentator Zhou Xiaohui wrote in The Epoch Times that the party media article released a message: Sun Chunlan’s role in supervising the war in Shanghai was limited, and she was likely to be violated by Shanghai officials. So the officials did not hesitate to make the contradiction public.

Hong Kong's "Ming Pao" wrote an article citing people familiar with the matter, saying that Shanghai officials fled and "flattened", and the suburban towns and villages had to be "taken over" by military medical care. Shanghai officials were criticized for "the top-level line is wrong, the middle-level command is inappropriate, and the grass-roots ability is low."

On 7 April, the People’s Daily, the official media of the Communist Party of China, published a commentary article “The more urgent the epidemic prevention is, the more important it is to abandon the mentality of lying flat”, saying that the epidemic situation in Shanghai is at a high level, and that the epidemic situation in Shanghai is at a high level. The mortality rate is low, and there is no need to mobilize the public", as well as "lying flat", "coexisting with the virus" and other remarks should be vigilant.

The Epoch Times commentator He Ping said that the official media's move was to make public the fact that Shanghai officials were "lying flat" and boycotting Beijing's orders.

Analysis: There are four reasons for Shanghai officials' "inaction"

After Shanghai was forced to shut down the city under the order of the central government, chaos erupted. However, no one received the donations from other places, and piles of vegetables were rotted and thrown away.

In some communities, people who were diagnosed with positive cases were left unattended, and grass-roots neighborhood committee officials complained tearfully to the people: "Shanghai's epidemic prevention policy is completely chaotic." Higher-level officials did not answer their calls at all, and they could not do anything; there were also a large number of citizens who were taken away for isolation, but the isolation centres and square cabin hospitals are in chaos, and bedding and meals are all robbed. Some people have nowhere to go because the isolation points are full, and they are thrown on the road without anyone looking after them.

A telephone recording of an official from a CDC in Shanghai was exposed. She criticized Shanghai’s epidemic prevention measures, saying that professionals were going crazy because no one listened to what they said. The disease has now become a political disease, “Now we all feel utter despair." The recording was then officially deleted.

Current affairs commentator Zhou Xiaohui believes that there are four main reasons for the inaction of Shanghai officials: First, in terms of the concept of epidemic prevention, Shanghai officials more agree with Shanghai expert Zhang Wenhong and Western countries' practice of "coexisting with the virus".

Second, Shanghai officials were dissatisfied with the central government's forced zero-clearance policy, which led to boycotts or neglect in their actions.

Third, traditionally, Shanghai officials have not looked down upon Beijing officials very much. In particular, the Jiang faction has been entrenched in Shanghai for many years, and the horses are all over various government agencies, financial and economic systems. In the context of the ongoing game between Xi and Jiang, they are also happy to watch Zhongnanhai's jokes and block Beijing through their own inaction or chaotic behavior.

Fourth, corruption in the officialdom in Shanghai is equally serious, and they do not care about the life and death of the people, and some grass-roots officials take the opportunity to make a fortune.

Xi Jinping served as secretary of the Shanghai Municipal Party Committee for seven months in 2007, and then served in the central government. In the book "Xi Jinping in Shanghai" published in early March this year, Shen Hongguang, then the head of the Shanghai Municipal Party Committee Organization Department, recalled that Xi Jinping used the word "not sticky" to describe Shanghai officials. Hong Kong's "Ming Pao" said that this reflected that Xi was not able to "integrate" with local officials in Shanghai at that time, which may be one of the reasons for the failure of Shanghai's fight against the epidemic today.

Xi Jinping strikes back at Shanghai Gang, arrests officials who lie down

The Shanghai Gang are "lying flat" against the central government, and Xi Jinping will naturally not let them go. At 6.34 pm on 7 April, the front page headline of Xinhua News Agency, the party media, published "When learning is in progress丨Persistence is victory! Revisit these "ones" that Xi Jinping talked about". The article displays idioms in pictures, sending a strong signal that the epidemic prevention and control policy must be "set in one".

He Ping, a current affairs commentator, said that this front page headline on XinhuaNet has a very obvious intention. It is obviously to say that officials at all levels in Shanghai and even the grassroots and the Party Central Committee Xi Jinping are not of the same mind, and their energy is not directed in one place, and they are not the same as the core of Xi Jinping. A game of chess led to such a big leak, embarrassing the central government, and creating problems for Zhongnanhai.

20 minutes after the Xinhua News Agency published "Study In Progress", it published an article entitled "Shanghai reported two typical problems of poor epidemic prevention and control, two people were dealt with".

The article reported that the two persons who were dealt with were Li Shuifei, former deputy secretary and general manager of the Fire and Emergency Department of the Hongqiao Company, a subsidiary of Shanghai Airport Group, and Zhou Baoguo, deputy secretary and dean of the Party branch of the Huangpu District Mental Health Center. The Shanghai Commission for Discipline Inspection pointed out in the report that the two were dismissed and dealt with due to "passive shirk, lack of responsibility" and "ineffective handling" in the epidemic prevention and control work.

He Ping believes that the Shanghai Commission for Discipline Inspection began to arrest officials who were "lying flat", sending a signal that the Xi camp began to suppress the remaining parties of the Jiang faction in Shanghai.

Troops deployed to prevent the Shanghai rebellion

Recently, the authorities have mobilized a large number of troops, armed police and medical personnel from various provinces to enter Shanghai to assist in epidemic prevention and stability maintenance. The atmosphere in Shanghai is tense.

Wang Jianhua, a Shanghai resident who lives in Pudong, told Radio Free Asia, "The 25th was closed until now. I read online that there are armed police stationed on guard, and they are all hungry. The people are so hungry that they are in a hurry to find something to eat, and they are not allowed to go out. The armed police are afraid of them rioting. It seems that there are many riots on the Internet, beating gongs and drums, screaming at night, and rushing out of the cordon of the community.”

Yokogawa, a current affairs commentator based in the United States, said in a video program that the last time he saw this kind of momentum in Shanghai was the measures taken to prevent the Shanghai rebellion after Beijing arrested the Gang of Four.

He said that the sudden change in Shanghai's epidemic prevention policy was a political struggle or a line struggle. Some people think that Xi Jinping did get a chance to clear Shanghai, the hometown of the Jiang faction.

He Qinglian: Xi Jinping is doing his best to deal with Jiang Zeng's forces

He Qinglian, a well-known writer and Chinese economic and social scholar, recently wrote an article pointing out that the 2022 CPC National Congress will decide whether Xi Jinping will be re-elected, and the level of bloodshed at the top of China's political circles may not be inferior to the 17th National Congress when Xi Jinping took office. There are various signs that Xi Jinping is doing his best to deal with the last challenging dark power within the CCP: the Jiang Zeng faction.

He Qinglian believes that among Jiang Zemin and Zeng Qinghong, Jiang is now only a symbol, and only this group of forces within the party can challenge Xi Jinping. It is the entanglement of anti-Xi forces that simply bring down the big tree, leaving those who are opposed to it without a branch to rely on.

New study: Spice cardamom may fight breast cancer

Reporter : Li Zhaoxi / Editor: Zhang Jie / https://www.ntdtv.com/gb/2022/04/08/a103395316.html / Image : Common spice cardamom. (Pixabay)

According to the American Cancer Society, breast cancer is one of the most common cancers among women in the United States, with new cases accounting for one-third of all new cancer cases in women each year. . A new study offers women hope that the common spice cardamom may fight breast cancer.

Cardamom is a common spice native to India, also known as Indian cardamom, fine cardamom, green cardamom, its fruit or seeds, or dry powder can be used as a spice, slightly spicy taste, its seeds can also be found in Chinese medicine.

Cardamom, a natural compound found in cardamom spice and other plants, can destroy triple-negative breast cancer cells, said researcher Patricia Mendonca, a professor in the Department of Biology at Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University. In experiments using human cells, cardamom also targeted a specific gene that helps cancer evade the immune system.

The study found that 10-15 percent of breast cancer cells were triple-negative, meaning patients lacked receptors for estrogen and progesterone and made little to no HER2 protein, making hormone therapy ineffective in treating tumors. Triple-negative cancers are also more aggressive, making them more deadly.

"Developing safe and effective targeted therapies for triple-negative breast cancer has always been a challenge," Mendonsa said in a press release. "Because of this, there is an urgent need to develop new approaches to combating this cancer with medicinal plants." .

Mendonsa added that cardamom has been used as a spice for centuries and more recently as a supplement. The latest research shows that cardamom has the potential to improve cancer treatment without the side effects of other chemotherapy drugs.

The researchers used two triple-negative human cell lines with different genes. One is from a European or Caucasian woman and the other is from African American. They found that cardamom treatment resulted in a dose-dependent decrease in cell viability in both lines. However, it only inhibited PD-L1 expression in Caucasian tumor tissues, which means that cells from different ethnic groups may respond differently to cardamom.

PD-L1, short for programmed cell death-1 receptor, is a protein that acts like a brake to keep the immune system under its control. In breast cancer patients, PD-L1 is overactive, helping the disease bypass the human immune system, the study found.

"This is the first study to describe the inhibitory effect of cardamom on PD-L1 expression," Mendonza said in a news release. Studies showing differences provide support.

According to the American Cancer Society, women in the United States have an average lifetime risk of breast cancer of about 13 percent. In recent years, the incidence has increased by 0.5% per year. The breast cancer mortality rate for women is about 2.6%. Black women have the highest mortality rate from breast cancer, in part because one in five black women with breast cancer has triple-negative breast cancer, a higher rate than any other racial/ethnic group.

The researchers plan to conduct more studies to further study the efficacy of cardamom before conducting human trials. They are also working on other cancer-fighting properties of cardamom.

Japanese expert: China-Russia-North Korea cooperation has entered a new stage of threat to the world

North Korea has conducted frequent missile launches as the world grapples with Russia's invasion of Ukraine and South Korea's election. Toshiji Hiraiwa, a professor at Japan's Nanshan University, warned that the three nuclear-armed countries of China, Russia, and North Korea have formed an alliance against the United States, issuing a new round of threats to the world.

In late March, North Korea reneged on promises made in 2018 and launched its most powerful missile since 2017, the Hwasong-17 intercontinental ballistic missile, with a range that could cover the entire United States. China and Russia voted against sanctions against North Korea at the United Nations this year. Toshiji Hiraiwa, a professor at Japan's Nanshan University and an expert on North Korea, analyzed that North Korea and China and Russia have joined forces with nuclear deterrence and confrontation and threats with the United States to shake the world.

Toshiji Hiraiwa, a professor at Japan's Nanshan University: "China, Russia, and North Korea all have anti-American backgrounds. They form a relationship of mutual use out of their own interests, and this relationship will continue to be maintained in the future."

Professor Shunji Hiraiwa said that North Korea's missile provocation during the Russian-Ukrainian war was seen as a "pawn" between China and Russia, but in fact it used China and Russia as a "weight" in negotiating with the United States, forcing the United States to relax its sanctions.

Toshiji Hiraiwa, a professor at Japan's Nanshan University: "North Korea makes full use of Russia, which is opposed to the United States, in order to better compete with the United States. Before negotiating with the United States, only the CCP used it as its reliance. Through this (Russia-Ukraine) incident, it has strengthened its relations with Russia. Use the anti-US China and Russia as backing."

Professor Shunji Hiraiwa believes that North Korea is also threatening Japan and undermining the peace in East Asia, and is constantly increasing its bargaining chips with the United States.

Toshiji Hiraiwa said, "Now the United States has to focus on the Russian-Ukrainian war, and North Korea believes that this is a good time to improve its overall national defense. 2) The core policy of the party congress is to test the ICBM (intercontinental ballistic missile) at this time, strengthen its own military strength, and negotiate with the United States at the right time. For North Korea, negotiating with the United States is the most important issue of diplomacy.”

He also said that on the basis of the US-Japan alliance, Japan needs to gradually resolve disputes with the new South Korean government and accelerate the deployment of actual combat defenses.

Solomon Islands plans to sign a "security treaty" with the Chinese Communist Party, which has aroused concern. Beijing denies that it intends to build a military base in Solomon Islands. But a Chinese state-owned enterprise document shows that China has proposed the idea of building military facilities in Solomon in 2020.

A Chinese state-owned enterprise document was disclosed by Sky News Australia on 6 April 2022. The document was signed by Qian Rong, general manager of AVIC International Complete Equipment Co., Ltd. (AVIC-INTL), and addressed to Leslie Kikolo, the former governor of Isabel province in the country.

The document photos shown by the report show that this is a "letter of intent" from AVIC International Complete Equipment, dated 29 September 2020.

Qian Rong stated in the letter of intent that AVIC International Complete Equipment intends to lease a piece of land in Isabel Province for 75 years in order to promote the Chinese Navy's infrastructure project.

The conditions put forward by Qian Rong include: The CCP will assist Solomon in promoting infrastructure, education and sports development, and AVIC International's complete set of equipment will also assist Solomon in improving the level of education and strengthening military cooperation between China and Somalia.

The report pointed out that the CCP and Solomon governments have yet to disclose the contents of the letter of intent, which revealed the concealment of the two governments.

AVIC International, the parent company of AVIC International Complete Equipment Co., Ltd., is affiliated to China Aviation Industry Corporation of China.

Before the documents were released, the CCP strongly denied any intention to build a military base in Solomon. On April 5, the website of the Chinese embassy in Solomon also issued a press release saying that the report about the Chinese Communist Party’s intention to build a military base in Solomon was “a false news that was deliberately spread entirely out of political motives.”

Reuters reported on 24 March that Solomon intends to sign a "security treaty" with China, allowing China to station troops in the Solomon Islands. The news immediately became the focus of attention in Australia and neighboring regions, and public opinion worried that the military cooperation between Solomon and China would impact regional security.
