The related products were once reported to be produced by "Golden Apollo Company" in Xizhi District, New Taipei City, but the company on 18 September 2024 immediately denied it, claiming that the relevant products were designed and manufactured by the Hungarian agent "BAC CONSULTING KFT." and they only authorized OEM. The CEO of "BAC CONSULTING KFT." also denied to foreign media today that BAC was involved in manufacturing.
An AR-924 pager exploded in Lebanon on Tuesday, killing 12 people and injuring thousands. Later, footage leaked indicating that the accidental pager was suspected to be manufactured by Taiwan's "Golden Apollo Company". The Taiwanese company issued a statement clarifying that they only have authorized OEMs and that the exploding beeper was designed and manufactured by the Hungarian agent "BAC CONSULTING KFT." .
Some netizens traced and found that the official website of a company called "BAC Consulting" was indeed found online. The company's location matches the address on the English statement of Apollo. The founder and CEO Cristiana Bársony-Arcidiacono owns the London School of Economics and Political Science. Bachelor of Political Science, PhD in Physics from University College London and other degrees. The official website also mentioned that BAC's business covers telecommunications, jewelry sales, etc., among which telecommunications includes promoting the sale of Asian telecommunications equipment.
The BB Call explosion incident attracted international attention. Many foreign media followed the address provided by Gold Apollo and found the suspected headquarters of BAC. The US "NBC News" contacted BAC CEO Cristiana Bársony-Arcidiacono on the 18th. Cristiana confirmed to "NBC News" by phone that her company was cooperating with Gold Apollo, but when asked about the pager explosion, Cristiana claimed, "I am not involved in making the pager. I am just a middleman. I think you are mistaken."
