Mutant strains spread rapidly in Asia, only 20 cases in the United States
Dr. Lin Xiaoxu said that according to the results of gene sequencing, the new wave of mutant strains (NB1.8.1) was first discovered in China in January this year, and soon Japan, Singapore, Taiwan, and other Southeast Asian countries also appeared in the strain.
He said that official data from Taiwan showed that the number of infections in the past two months reached 1.8 million, which is nearly one-tenth of Taiwan’s total population but China is said to have only 160,000 people infected with the virus, so China’s data is not credible, and China’s data cannot see the actual number of visits, hospitalization rate, severe disease rate, mortality rate, etc. Due to the lack or cover-up of Chinese data, Dr. Lin believes that China’s preventive measures have not kept up.
In other countries, such as the United States, the infection rate is not as fast as in Asia. Dr. Lin said that as of 30 May 2025, there were only 20 cases of NB1.8.1 in the United States, so the virus has not been considered a virus that needs to be tracked. Dr. Lin therefore believes that the United States will not take measures such as closing airports to prevent cases from entering the United States now.
The new virus has stronger immune escape and low morbidity
The new strain NB1.8.1 has stronger immune escape ability but Dr. Lin said that there is no sign that the new strain is more pathogenic, which means that the severe rate is not too high, so the public does not need to panic.
However, Dr. Lin also pointed out that the situation in the United States, the situation in neighboring countries of China and the situation in China cannot be regarded as the same, because there are many people infected with multiple pathogens in China now. Dr. Lin introduced that information from the China Influenza Center showed that according to the test data of respiratory diseases in sentinel hospitals, 40% of the cases were infected with multiple pathogens, that is, they were not only infected with the new strain, but also with influenza or other respiratory pathogens.
Dr. Lin believes that the Chinese people's lack of immunity and the degree of damage caused by vaccines are very serious, so he judges that the possibility of severe illness caused by new crown infection in China is higher than in other regions.
The best way to resist the new virus: Strengthen immunity
As the number of infections in China and Asia accelerates, Zhong Nanshan, the CCP's royal expert, delivered a speech. Dr. Lin reminded the mainland people that Zhong Nanshan's speech has two purposes: One is to maintain stability; the other is to sell medicine. Therefore, for the public, the most important thing is to improve their immunity, protect their respiratory tract, and follow common sense. He said that improving one's own immunity is better than seeking external drug treatment, because there is no particularly effective medicine now, and vaccines cannot keep up with the speed of virus mutation.
Will zero-covid measures and extreme lockdown come again?

Dr. Lin believes that the CCP will not promote the lockdown on a large scale again, but he revealed that the CCP is actually building square cabin hospitals in many places. Once someone is infected, they may be secretly taken away and locked up, and the media will not report it, so many people will not know the truth about the epidemic. Therefore, the Chinese people must be careful.
Dr. Lin revealed that Beijing is ready to do its best to defend Beijing, so buffer zones are being added at the gateways into Beijing, which are said to be very similar to temporary quarantine areas. On the issue of human infection with avian influenza, Beijing has set up 10 avian influenza detection points in Miyun District for comprehensive screening to protect Beijing.
