In the morning of 26 June 2025, a B757-200 freighter of SF Airlines took off from Kunming and headed for Colombo, the capital of Sri Lanka, marking the official opening of the "Kunming=Colombo" international cargo route. This is the first scheduled all-cargo route in China that flies directly to Sri Lanka, and it is also a new milestone for SF Airlines to explore the South Asian market. It will further enhance the competitiveness of SF's international business in the Asian region and provide strong logistics support for China-Sri Lanka economic and trade cooperation, regional economic growth, and the in-depth promotion of the "Belt and Road" initiative.

The "Kunming=Colombo" route is planned to operate twice a week, operated by a B757-200 freighter. It is expected to provide more than 110 tons of air transport capacity for Kunming to and from Colombo every week. The main sources of exports are electronic products, mechanical parts, textiles, cross-border e-commerce packages and flowers, while imports focus on Sri Lankan black tea, spices and other specialty agricultural products, as well as Indian electronic products and Maldivian seafood transited through Colombo.

In recent years, SF Airlines has opened a number of South Asian routes, including to Delhi, Chennai, Mumbai, Bangalore, Amritsar in India, Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi in Pakistan, Dhaka in Bangladesh, and Kathmandu in Nepal. With the opening of the "Kunming=Colombo" route, SF Airlines has reached more than 10 cities in South Asia. In the future, it can cooperate with the Ezhou hub to create an "Ezhou-Kunming-Colombo" intermodal link to leverage greater logistics demand and growth potential.

SF Airlines currently operates 90 all-cargo aircraft, with a leading capacity in Asia, and has always been committed to providing customers with safe, efficient and competitive air logistics services. The opening of the "Kunming=Colombo" route is an important measure for SF Airlines to optimize its global network layout, actively respond to the "Belt and Road" initiative, and serve regional economic and trade exchanges. SF Airlines will continue to pay attention to market demand, dynamically optimize routes and services, help the deep integration of the international industrial chain supply chain, and contribute to the construction of a smoother international trade channel.
