On 13 October 2020, Taiwan’s Central Epidemic Command Center announced that a Taiwanese businessman who had returned to Taiwan from Jiangsu had confirmed the diagnosis.
Taiwan Epidemic Command Center spokesperson Zhuang Renxiang disclosed that this Taiwanese businessman has been working in Jiangsu for a long time. Two other colleagues in the same office as him also had cold symptoms and did not seek medical attention. On 11 October, the Taiwanese businessman was listed as a confirmed case after several inspections when he returned to Taiwan.
A report from the Chinese Communist Party's official Xinhua News Agency claimed that the prevention and control department of Kunshan City, Jiangsu Province tested the virus on the relevant personnel of this Taiwanese businessman on 13 October but the results showed that no one was infected.
