A few days ago, three top international epidemiologists from Harvard University, Oxford University and Stanford University jointly launched the "Great Barrington Declaration" to oppose the blockade to prevent the spread of the Chinese Communist virus epidemic Measures, they said they had a devastating effect. At present, tens of thousands of medical experts around the world have signed this declaration.

As of 15 October , more than 30,000 medical scientists, medical staff, and nearly 480,000 members of the public who are concerned about the closure of the city have signed the "Great Barrington Declaration."

This declaration was jointly initiated by three leading scholars, including: Harvard University professor Dr. Martin Kurdoff, Oxford University professor Sunitra Gupta, and Stanford University School of Medicine professor Jay Batacha Ria.

On 4 October, three scholars issued and read the "Great Barrington Declaration". They said: From all over the world, regardless of left and right, we are committed to the cause of protecting people. Whether in the short or long term, the current blockade policy is having a devastating impact on public health, including the deterioration of cardiovascular disease, reduction of cancer screening, reduction of child vaccination rate and deterioration of mental health. These will cause the death rate to increase in the next few years.

The declaration called for public health officials to work to protect the most vulnerable people while allowing those who are not vulnerable to "return to normal life." Let them build immunity to the virus through natural infection.

Huai Haiying, the vice president of the US biotechnology company, said that at the beginning, because the CCP covered up the virus and caused a global spread. Countries were afraid that they could not cope with it, and adopted some radical measures.

Huai Haiying added, "After the overreaction reaches a certain stage, the disadvantages will become more obvious, and the beneficial part may not be so strong, because if you block and track the patients at first, at that time, it can still be done. Once there is a certain percentage among the crowd, you can’t stop it anymore."

Huai Haiying said that everyone knows that the virus is very contagious. So just wearing a mask, hand sanitizer or restricting people's normal activities cannot stop the virus from spreading.

Huai Haiying: "It is definitely not a good strategy to completely blockade it now. They may have reached this conclusion based on the model, otherwise he would not dare to sign. The virus not just affects healthy people, but also all aspects of health and disease. There are many, so his model simulates it, which means that the complete blockade does more harm than good. This is completely credible."

The declaration advocates that schools should open face-to-face instruction and resume sports and other extracurricular activities. Low-risk young adults should work normally, not from home. Restaurants and other businesses should open their doors for business. Art, music, sports and other cultural activities should be resumed. Those at greater risk can participate if they wish.

Huang Shiwei, Director of the Department of Urology, National Taiwan University Hospital Yunlin Branch, said, "The epidemic has been spreading in many countries, so it has become very difficult to control. We look at Europe and some other countries. The mandatory lockdown can slow the epidemic, but once the epidemic is unblocked, the epidemic will rise again. However, during the blockade, many people who will be affected cannot find jobs, and there will be financial problems."

Zheng Yuanyu, a former specialist in infectious diseases at Taipei Veterans General Hospital, said: “If the lockdown continues, the economy will decline and hospitals will not be able to provide adequate care for chronic or even acute diseases, then the entire society will definitely cause some premature deaths.”

Former Taipei Veterans General Hospital Infectious Diseases Specialist Zheng Yuanyu: "I personally think that this matter will eventually be open, because it will continue to expand when closed, and the number of cases will accumulate, and then the economy will increase. As it deteriorates, more and more people will get sick in the end, and then the economy will deteriorate to a certain extent. The domestic health deterioration and death caused by medical collapse and public health will become unbearable. Finally, it will open up. "

Zheng Yuanyu said that in fact, there are many people who are asymptomatic. If a general screening is done in an area, it will be found that there are many infected people, so the lockdown cannot solve the problem.

Earlier, a study published in the British Medical Journal also showed that although the initial lockdown measures can effectively reduce the burden on the intensive care unit of British hospitals, maintaining the lockdown will extend the duration of the pandemic and increase the number of deaths.

This study is based on data used by the British government when the lockdown was implemented in March. In that study, "The model predicts that the closure of schools and isolation of young people will delay the second wave and subsequent outbreaks, but will eventually increase the total number of deaths."

In addition, in late September, a group of 20 Canadian doctors published an open letter to Ontario Governor Doug Ford in the National Post, opposing the resumption of the lockdown as the number of cases increased.
