US Secretary of State Antony Blinken appeared at the House of Representatives’ Foreign Affairs Commissioner’s hearing on 10 March. According to a report in The Hindustan Times, South Korean Republican Representative Young Kim asked Blinken's views on the current situation in Asia during the hearing. When asked whether to promote Taiwan’s participation in the World Health Organization, “invite Taiwan to attend the democracy summit hosted by US President Biden” and other issues, Blinken promised on the spot and praised Taiwan as a strong democratic government and a centre of science and technology. Taiwan is "a  country that contributes to the world". 

Seeing Blinken’s remarks, Bass seemed very happy. He posted on Twitter on the 13th, not only marked the Twitter accounts of the Global Times editor-in-chief Hu Xijin, the Chinese state media Global Times and Cui Tiankai, the Chinese ambassador to the US, said that Taiwan is a country with a population of 24 million, Taiwan is not China, and the United States will recognize Taiwan from now on. In fact, as early as last November, the results of the US presidential election were announced. After Biden won the election, Bass publicly called for Biden to recognize Taiwan's sovereignty after he took office.
