Vietnam Airlines will be the first airline to jointly research and develop a "vaccine passport" pilot project with domestic and foreign institutions.

Specifically, Vietnam Airlines held its first working meeting with the International Air Transport Association (IATA) on the "Digital Health Passport" project. The IATA formally proposed that Vietnam Airlines try out the travel pass mobile application (IATA Travel ass) developed by the IATA.

In order to create a digital health passport, Vietnam Airlines' passengers must integrate and unify the personal information on their ID cards or passports. After that, enter the flight information to learn about the parade regulations.

The digital health passport will be connected to various testing agencies to search for testing structures. If the passenger’s health meets the criteria, the passport will be updated with a “satisfied” status. At the airport or before boarding, passengers can share this status and test results with the airline through the travel pass mobile app.

Alexandre de Juniac, President and CEO of IATA, revealed that the successful adoption of the IATA Travel Pass has shown that technology can help passengers and governments secure and facilitate information about health and tourism. And effective management.

At present, the IATA Travel Pass has received positive feedback from the governments of more than 70 countries and has been tried by more than 20 airlines, including many 5-star airlines such as Singapore Airlines and Qatar Airways.

While carrying out the "vaccine passport" pilot project, Vietnam Airlines continues to implement international flights in accordance with the company's highest epidemic prevention standards.

The epidemic prevention and safety standards adopted by Vietnam Airlines are evaluated as higher than those of the SkyTeam, which is equivalent to the four-star standard of the International Air Transport Rating Organization and reaches the highest standard of the international professional aviation evaluation website AirlineRatings.

Prior to this, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc asked relevant departments and industries to consider research, gradually resume flights on various international routes and make adequate preparations for the adoption of the "vaccine passport."
