令接种者更易感染新变种病毒 莫德纳COVID疫苗惹议

New research from the United States has found that months after receiving the Moderna covi (for SARS-CoV-2, CCP virus) vaccine, vaccinated people are more likely to be infected with a new variant of covi, resulting in covid (for COVID, COVID-19, Covid-19, covid-19, novel coronavirus pneumonia, Wuhan pneumonia) and those who received the booster vaccine were more likely to be infected than those who received only the basal dose.

The study, by Moderna and Kaiser Permanente, found that people who have never been vaccinated may be more resistant to the ever-mutating covi.

Usually, Moderna vaccine recipients choose one or more booster shots in addition to the initial two doses of vaccine required for vaccination. The study tracked people who had received three doses of the vaccine and found that the defense against the first-generation BA.1 variant of Omicron remained around 50% for 150 days after the booster shot.

Faced with the currently circulating BA.5 variant, however, these vaccinated people are more likely to contract the virus than those who have never been vaccinated. Those who got the booster shot were more likely to develop covid than those who got just the first two doses.

Vaccines work differently for other covi variants. Studies have shown that for BA.2 and BA.4, the human body is more susceptible to the virus after 150 days of booster inoculation. For BA.1.12.1, 91 days after vaccination, they were more susceptible than unvaccinated people.

As for the results of vaccination failing to achieve immune effects, the researchers said that it is possible that vaccinated people failed to take the same protective measures as unvaccinated people when they faced the risk of infection, and this risky behaviour may cause vaccinated people more susceptible to infection.

The research report is now available on medRxiv, a pre-print preview site for Health Sciences, for peer review.

Hung Fu Tseng, a researcher at Kaiser Permanente in Southern California, U.S., failed to provide the raw data for the survey in an email reply to The Epoch Times. Hung Fu wrote, "Currently, the research report (we submitted) is being reviewed by relevant journals. I cannot answer your questions right now. After the report is approved, I will be able to answer your questions."

As of press time, Moderna did not respond to the Epoch Times' email inquiries.

Not only Moderna, but all covi vaccines face questions about their ability to protect recipients from infection. Pro-vaccine experts try to explain that vaccines can save people from severe illness. However, this claim is not supported by complete medical data.

While the U.S. Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) continues to encourage children and adults over 6 months of age to get covi-vaccinated, a recent study found that 18 to 20 weeks after vaccination, children ages 5 to 11 are less likely to be vaccinated against covid as they are less immune to the disease than unvaccinated people.

British intelligence chief warns: CCP's control of the population threatens the world

Reporters : Li Mei, Tao Ming and Yuwei / https://www.ntdtv.com/gb/2022/10/12/a103549108.html

On 11 October 2022, senior British officials warned that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is using new technology to develop and implement technology to monitor people, and this practice is jeopardizing global security.

Fleming, director of British Communications Headquarters, said, "They (the CCP) are seeking to maintain their (rule) position by controlling the population on a large scale. This means that they see an opportunity to control the Chinese people, rather than looking to support and release their citizens. Potential approach. They see countries as potential adversaries or potential targets against whom they can be threatened, bribed or coerced.”

Sir Fleming, the UK's top intelligence and security agency and head of GCHQ, was speaking at the annual security conference of the Royal Joint Services Institute think tank on Tuesday on the theme If China is the problem, what is the answer? "

Fleming pointed out that the CCP leadership controls the population out of fear of its own citizens, freedom of speech, free trade, and open technological standards and alliances, as well as fear of “the entire open, democratic order and rules-based international system.”

Fleming said, "This fear, combined with the power China has acquired, is driving it to take actions that could pose a huge threat to us all."

At the same time, China’s leaders are seeking to use technologies such as digital currency and the Beidou satellite navigation network to increase control over their citizens while blocking other countries’ ties to space.

Fleming added, "Many people believe that China is building a strong anti-satellite capability. Its desire is to cut off other countries from space in the event of a conflict."

The Beidou system is used by China to counter the US GPS navigation system. There are concerns that the technology could also be used to track individuals.

Fleming emphasized that the CCP is seeking to acquire new technologies that can be leveraged, such as the development of a centralized digital currency that allows monitoring of all payments and transaction activities of the population, as well as possible evasion of similar sanctions that Russia has faced from the West for invading Ukaine.

Fleming warned last year that the West was facing a battle to prevent CCP China from dominating important emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, synthetic biology and genetics.

Fleming also outlined what collective action the UK and its allies need to take to maintain security and provide responsible and competitive alternatives.

Authorities concealed reports of severe epidemic in Lanzhou

According to the "Lanzhou Release" today (10 October), from 0 to 24:00 on the 9th, there were no new confirmed cases in Gansu Province; 68 new asymptomatic infections were reported, including 67 cases in Chengguan District of Lanzhou and Jingyuan City of Baiyin and 1 case in the county. The above newly infected people are all covi-positive people who came from other provinces and returned to Gansu and their close contacts, and were found in the nucleic acid tests at centralized isolation points, and high-risk areas.

Netizen "IaMgLm" said in the comment section, "There is no need to report fake news, whether it is found in isolation and control, why the community is closed, why all shopping malls in Lanzhou are closed, I am so disappointed in Lanzhou, it has been a year, and it is blocked. I know how many times, the authenticity and accuracy of each report are not the same, and it is so difficult for ordinary people to live a normal life."

"BAbeBunnY-" said, "Qilihe doesn't have any, the two in our community don't count, so why did you seal me up?" Li Li's secret base asked, "College of Arts and Sciences, you don't even mention it, do you? ? You really understand."

"Jiaxin, ah Jiaxin" said, "Zero new additions, and high-risk areas are set up, so don't deceive yourself again"; "Reflections in the Year 09007" said, "It's very quick to change your mouth, high-risk areas were detected and found."

In fact, the Lanzhou Chengguan District Epidemic Joint Prevention and Control Office announced on the 9th that from now on, Building 1, No. 199, Donggang West Road, Chengguan District, Lanzhou will be designated as a high-risk area. The address is Lanzhou University School of Medicine.

The College of Arts and Sciences mentioned by the netizens above is located at No. 400 Yanbei Road, Yanyuan Street, Chengguan District, Lanzhou. It has recently become the center of the outbreak of the epidemic area and has been designated as a high-risk area on the 8th.

Lanzhou University of Arts and Sciences in a cluster of epidemics

Xiao Qiang (pseudonym), a third-year student at Lanzhou University of Arts and Sciences, told The Epoch Times reporter today that he will return to school on 28 September 2022. After a freshman jumped over the wall and went out to become a close contact patient, a cluster of epidemics broke out in the school. It was closed on 4 October 2022, and now the situation is basically out of control, with covi-positive and -negative living in the dormitory.

"It's not clear how many dormitory buildings (with the epidemic) are in the school, but I can confirm that basically every dormitory in the 6 dormitory buildings has high fever cases, and 1/3 of the dormitories have positive antigen tests." He added, "here are about 800 people in the dormitory building.”

"Except to go to the toilet, it is not allowed to go out of the dormitory door. The toilet has a special pit for positives." He said, "There are 6 people in our dormitory, one of them is positive for antigen (the result of the antigen test at 2 pm on the 9th), and the other 5 people (fever) with the temperature 38 degrees is too high, headache and sore throat. Now, basically 2/3 of the dormitories have 2/3 of the people with fever, cough and inflammation.”

Xiaoqiang told reporters that after the lockdown on the 4th, people came to do nucleic acid testing every day. If the nucleic acid test result is positive, the person will be taken away before the result is obtained. For example, he said, "We did it with the dormitory next door, and we came out. They didn't come out of the dormitory for about half an hour, so they just took it away."

He said, "The school asked us to wait. The students had a fever of less than 40°C and there was no medicine. Today, I slept intermittently for a while, and I was so uncomfortable that I couldn't sleep. The school was a mess."

Xiaoqiang's body temperature was 38.7°C when he was interviewed. He felt groggy, chest tight and short of breath, and had no medicine. Nucleic acid testing has been done 6 times so far, and many students have been taken to square cabin hospitals and isolation points.

Some students left a message in the "Lanzhou College of Arts and Sciences", "It is because the dormitory has covi-positive cases not dealt with in time, resulting in a dormitory with positive infection, and there is no medicine to drink in the hospital, many people have a fever of 39 ℃, 40 ℃. already."

Some students left a message saying, "All the roommates have a fever. Except for the positive pull (the roommate), the roommates have different symptoms of fever and headache. I am currently the only person in the dormitory who has no symptoms. My roommate has no symptoms. I have been surrounded by  fever cases, and now I don’t dare to drink water in the toilet, and if I live like this, I will become a native of Xiaoyang, so I beg the school to take care of us.”

There are too many students to pull in, and thousands of square cabins are full

Xiaochao, a junior at Lanzhou College of Arts and Sciences, told The Epoch Times that he started to have a fever on the evening of October 8, had a headache, was dizzy, and his antigen test was negative. The classmates in the same dormitory began to feel uncomfortable at noon, and the antigen was also negative.

At 1 o'clock in the morning (9th), Dabai came to knock on the door of the dormitory and asked Xiaochao and his roommate to pack up and isolate. They did not sleep all night and did not wait for the transport transfer. At 10 am, the ambulance came. They were taken to Lanzhou Heavy Ion Hospital (Yantan Branch of Lanzhou Second People's Hospital). There were also 5 students from the school on the bus. The antigens were also negative, and everyone did not get the nucleic acid test results.

During their stay in the hospital, they never saw the nucleic acid test reports, and the doctor only informed them verbally that they were covi-positive and needed to receive treatment. In the afternoon of the 9th, Xiaochao had a fever of 39.8°C. He asked the hospital for medicines several times, and finally got a box of Lianhua Qingwen granules and a box of antipyretics.

He said that in the morning of the 9th, he did not eat the school's breakfast, and after arriving at the hospital, because the number of meals was limited, he did not receive any meals, and he was given an extra meal until 7 pm "I felt like I could eat a cow, and my whole body (fever, hungry) was going to collapse."

He told reporters that the bus pulled people from the school every day, and there were too many people to pull in, and he did not know whether they belonged to the confirmed cases. The square cabins of thousands of people are full, and the square cabins are also left unattended. There are also people who are quarantined in hotels. Lanzhou has cooled down in the past few days. It is very cold at night, and they will wake up from the freeze and cannot sleep.

Xiaochao said that the psychological pressure is relatively high, and the girls in the group were crying when they were taken to isolation. The temperature reached 40°C, and he kept asking the doctor for antipyretics, but the doctor did not give it to him, so he asked to buy some on Meituan. "At that time, all our students had red codes, and we couldn't buy them at all."

A sophomore boy who was quarantined in the dormitory told The Epoch Times that most of the people quarantined in the cabin were girls, and girls were more infected. Students who are quarantined outside have difficulties. If you have a high fever, no one cares, and there is no medicine. If you ask the volunteers for medicine, the other party will insist on it. Some people even say that the quarantine does not bring fever medicine?

"The classmates told us that thesquare cabin hospital only has breakfast and dinner, no lunch, and the fever is 40°C before giving medicine." He said, "We need support to take care of those isolated students, at least guarantee their health and safety. At school it’s understandable to have a fever inside with myrrh, but outside, it’s still myrrh, no one cares, and it’s self-defeating…”

Although the Internet police tried their best to suppress the news, the students were not discouraged, and there was still some information on Weibo. A girl cried for help, "My mother contacted me... I sent an electronic mattress this afternoon, but there was no medicine... Please help me..."

The above-mentioned sophomore boy told reporters that the crying girl was a freshman and was isolated in the Gansu Police Academy.

Another resident told the Epoch Times reporter, "My home is right next to the school, and now I'm still pulling people in the bus. Students who don't have a place to isolate will be assigned to nearby universities. The vegetable market here is also closed, and there are two more high-risk nearby. (District). Our community has sealed one building, and now the city is not closed, that is, whichever building has (positive), it will be closed, but it will not be reported.”

"Residents were also infected and were taken away," he said. In order to support students in distress, he also forwarded relevant information online. One of the messages was that the senior girls and freshmen who lived together were separated from each other.

The information he passed on to reporters showed that on the afternoon of 6 October 2022, after a freshman girl was antigen positive, they quickly contacted the floor manager and the head teacher.

That night, they were sent to a quarantine hotel. On the third night, they were transferred to the square cabin hospital, where they received two bottles of mineral water a day. They only did not wear masks when eating within 24 hours, and they wore masks all the time, including sleeping.

The Epoch Times reporter called Lanzhou University's director's office, secretary office, and duty room, but no one answered or hung up. The Epoch Times reporter called the Lanzhou CDC and the National Health Commission, as well as the Lanzhou 24-hour epidemic consultation service hotline but the calls could not be answered.

Lanzhou restricts the flow of foreign netizens relaying their voices

Xiaoqiang, a student at Lanzhou College of Arts and Sciences, told The Epoch Times, "Whoever speaks out on the Internet will be dealt with, punished, and demerited." Xiaochao also told reporters, "The trending search on Weibo is not going up at all. It will send a private message, saying that the message has not been confirmed, and let the video be deleted."

A Gansu netizen posted a blog post saying, "Maybe our relatives and friends, our lovers, and our classmates are in dire straits. As college students, we should stand up, we must stand up, speak up for them, and gain hope for them. I'm not afraid of being caught, I'm not afraid of the topic being deleted, and I'm not afraid of being warned...because there are people I love in this rotten place. Fellow compatriots, classmates and colleagues, I implore you, I implore you to stand up, A voice for them..."

The IP address of Inner Mongolia's "It's a chick ah_" said, "I typed a lot of words, deleted and deleted, and only these can be sent out. Because some friends are in Lanzhou College of Arts and Sciences, and some are in Lanzhou, so I will know how serious the situation is, how helpless they will be. Also, because I am also a student.

"I have obtained a lot of information from Weibo, and I am very worried and very distressed about the suffering of all Lanzhou University of Arts and Sciences students, as well as those who have been infected with the new crown. No one wants to be 'zero growth', and people from other provinces are indeed not among them. For this reason Voice is also suspect.

"I don't want to say anything extra, I just hope that they are all safe, and the medication and food and clothing are in place... 'If one side is in trouble, all sides will support it'. It is the most correct choice to tell the truth. Concealing the report will only make the situation worse. Worse. Hope everyone is really safe."

A netizen retweeted an appeal, "Save Lan Wenli (Lanzhou College of Arts and Sciences), stop concealing the report, is the life of a student really not life?" Weibo said, "Please pay attention to Lanzhou College of Arts and Sciences, the epidemic is serious! It has not been reported. The students are already moving to the teaching building!”

Chinese Experts Reveal "Free Nucleic Acid Tests": Deceiving the people

中国专家揭“免费核酸”黑幕:骗老百姓的(视频)

The CCP virus SARS-CoV-2 (covi) has been spreading for three years, and the Beijing authorities' zero-epidemic prevention policy and normalized nucleic acid testing have aroused public condemnation. Chinese experts revealed that the CCP regards nucleic acids, vaccines, and quarantine as new "troikas" to promote economic growth. The official so-called "free nucleic acids" are deceptive, and they are actually all the money spent by the Chinese people.

On 11 October, Twitter user "Wu Wenxing" reposted a video of a speech by a Chinese scholar. "The new troika that drives economic growth is nucleic acid, vaccines and quarantine," the scholar said.

He said that these things can indeed increase GDP, and told a story of "shit economics", explaining that the CCP's so-called "free nucleic acids, free vaccines, and free isolation" are actually deceiving the people.

The academic told a story in the video about two economists joking together and one of them said if you eat a piece of shit, I'll give you a million. So the man ate it and got a million but he immediately regretted it and felt disgusting to eat shit. The person who gave the money also regretted it, and should not have given so much money.

So, the economist who ate shit before said to the person who gave the money, if you eat a lot of shit too, I'll give you one million back. So the economist also ate a piece of shit and got his one million back.

Then, the two of them hugged each other and cried, saying, "We give you one million, and one million for me, and we just ate two pieces of shit and didn't do anything." As a result, their mentor said, "That's not right. , you've added 2 million to the country's GDP."

The scholar said: "That's why I said that the cost of this nucleic acid test should be covered by medical insurance or finances. I fought hard for this matter. In fact, whether it is medical insurance or finance, whoever pays the money is not all taxpayers. , isn't it all the people's?"

He finally stated his conclusion: "So I said, this free nucleic acid, free of charge, must be nonsense (deceptive)."

Harvard scholar exposes the shady story of the CCP's epidemic prevention

The CCP’s zero-covid policy has made all industries related to epidemic prevention a huge fortune. Earlier, Chinese economist Peng Dingding told Radio Free Asia that nucleic acid testing companies made a lot of money but they actually made money from medical insurance.

Since May this year, the Chinese authorities have required nucleic acid testing to be normalized, and large cities have established nucleic acid "sampling circles" within 15 minutes of walking. Although the Chinese people complained about this, the authorities still forced the people to do nucleic acid. Some netizens lamented that if they didn't do it, they couldn't do anything.

At the same time, under the epidemic prevention measures of "clearing and closing the city", large-scale lockdowns and quarantines in various places have also become the norm. In many cities, after only one confirmed case was found, the whole city was put under lockdown, people were quarantined, and all staff were tested for nucleic acid.

Even some cities, such as Yongji  in Shanxi Province, have implemented silent management and conducted nucleic acid screening of all employees without an epidemic.

In addition, the authorities forced the Chinese people to take the domestically produced covi vaccine, which is also related to the interest groups behind it.

In February of this year, a recording of a speech allegedly made by Harvard scholar Huang Wansheng was exposed on the Internet, also exposing the CCP's shady epidemic prevention. Huang Wansheng disclosed at a private gathering in January that high-level officials of the CCP have been involved in nucleic acid reagents and vaccines, and the CCP’s implementation of epidemic prevention measures such as “clearing”, national nucleic acid testing, and compulsory vaccination, all involve huge interests.

"Our leaders' gloves and family members get their hands on the nucleic acid reagents. As long as there are one or two cases, the entire region and the whole people will be tested for nucleic acid. It requires the procurement of nucleic acids, and only the procurement can be profitable." , Huang Wansheng said, "The number I got the day before yesterday shows that this group has made 670 billion yuan through nucleic acid alone."

He also revealed that the CCP's forced promotion of vaccines is also linked to interests. "In fact, it is to convey benefits to interest groups, including forcibly administering vaccines. Three or four injections must be administered, all of which are related to the interest groups behind."

Huang Wansheng, 72, has been a senior assistant to Professor Du Weiming at Harvard University since 1997. He is also a visiting professor at many domestic universities, including Tsinghua University.

The recording mentioned that after the outbreak of the CCP virus, in July 2020, the CCP authorities purchased a high-priced air ticket of 179,000 RMB and urgently recalled him back to China to lead an epidemic prevention project. From this, he deeply learned about the CCP’s epidemic prevention.

Shanghai batch recruits full-time professionals to sign 2-year contracts, netizens are desperate

上海批量招聘专职大白签2年合同 网民绝望

The CCP's extreme epidemic prevention has overwhelmed the public. A few days ago, the mouthpiece media published a series of articles in support of "dynamic clearing". Shanghai has recruited hundreds of "epidemic prevention staff" with a two-year contract. Many netizens expressed their despair towards the CCP.

On 11 October, Shanghai Pudong New Area Human Resources and Social Security Bureau WeChat public account "Pudong People's Club" issued an announcement, announcing that in order to implement the epidemic prevention deployment of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the Shanghai authorities, and to solve the employment problem of college graduates, Pudong New Area is now open for recruitment 575 "community prevention and control personnel".

The announcement stated that the "community prevention and control post" is a "phased and temporary job position" set up for epidemic prevention, and the recruits will sign a two-year labour contract with the street and town social work office.

The announcement also listed the specific recruitment numbers for each township under the Pudong New Area, ranging from 2 to 59. The number of fresh graduates and non-fresh graduates to be recruited is basically the same.

The "contract period of 2 years" in the recruitment announcement quickly attracted the attention of netizens. Netizens lamented that the CCP's extreme epidemic prevention will be "at least another two years", and "Shanghai has no hope." Some netizens said, "When ever there was hope."

Another netizen asked back: "Do you think it's just Shanghai?" One netizen said: "Xinjiang recruits nucleic acid testers with staff members. Even if they don't have staff members, they will be paid the same as staff for equal work. Good days are still to come."

Image : Netizens revealed that Shanghai wholesales a large number of raw materials for nucleic acid test sticks. (Web image)

At present, the official WeChat account of "Pudong People's Society" has deleted this hotly debated recruitment announcement.

A few days ago, the CCP media mouthpieces published editorials one after another, cheering for the "dynamic clearing". For example, on the 10th and 11th, People's Daily published articles "Enhancing Confidence and Patience in Current Epidemic Prevention and Control Policies" and "Dynamic Clearing is Sustainable and Must Be Persistent", and Xinhua News Agency published "Enhancing Concentration" on the 11th. Endurance epidemic prevention and control must not "lay flat"" and so on.

The CCP's "dynamic clearing" has developed into a frenzied political movement. Critics pointed out that this matter may have nothing to do with epidemic prevention but the CCP took the opportunity to strengthen social control in order to protect the regime. Some netizens believe that "the epidemic prevention policy is a good way to exhaust the people, the poor and the weak, and the Communist bandits (in order to maintain their rule) must continue."

It is said that the three major water sources in Shanghai are depleted and the sea water is pouring back. The authorities conceal the water crisis

Reporter : Zheng Gusheng / Editor: Lin Qing / https://www.ntdtv.com/gb/2022/10/11/a103548766.html

传上海三大水源枯竭致海水倒灌 当局隐瞒用水危机

Drought has caused the water level of Shanghai's water sources to drop and the sea water to flood back. It is reported on the Internet that the three major reservoirs in Shanghai have been depleted and there is a water crisis. The authorities only secretly transported water from other places to keep it secret from the 20th National Congress of the CCP.

Caixin.com reported on Tuesday that due to the intrusion of the salt tide, it is difficult to obtain water from reservoirs in Shanghai's two major water sources.

According to the report, the drought in the Yangtze River Basin has led to a continuous decrease in the inflow of water from the upper reaches, and the intrusion of salt tides at the mouth of the Yangtze River has become increasingly severe. Shanghai, which is located at the mouth of the river, is facing a water crisis.

According to the monitoring of the Shanghai water affairs department, the water intake of Qingcaosha Reservoir in the Yangtze Estuary has experienced several salt tide intrusions since 10 pm on 5 September 2022 and the water intake of Chenhang Reservoir since 4 pm on 14 September. Both the two reservoirs have closed their water intakes at appropriate times, which has a huge impact on Shanghai's water supply.

On Monday (10 October), Shanghai’s official internal news came out on Weibo, saying that the water sources of Shanghai’s three major reservoirs were depleted, the upstream drought could not replenish water, and the mouth of the Yangtze River was completely polluted by salt water. Now it is difficult to guarantee industrial water, and the quality of civil tap water has exceeded the standard by 4 times. Because the 20th National Congress of the CCPwill be held this month, the news has not been announced. Shanghai water officials said they did not know when relief would take place. The whistleblower called on everyone to stock up on pure water just in case.

The source also said that Shanghai officials now send ships to Jiangsu to transport water every day, but they cannot quench their thirst from far away.

Someone posted on the Internet that the ships sent to transport water were dredgers and sanders.

The above news aroused public attention. Some local netizens said they were ready to order bottled water. Some netizens left a message, "The army of hoarding vegetables and meat is still on the way, and they will start hoarding water again."

Two weeks ago, Shanghai's official media Dragon TV also reported that the water inflow from the Yangtze River exceeded the historical low for the same period, and salt water poured into the mouth of the Yangtze River, causing salt tides at the intakes of Qingcaosha and Chenhang Reservoirs. However, officials claimed that this was just a "natural hydrological phenomenon" and measures had been taken to "guarantee the normal and orderly water supply".

A Shanghai resident told Radio Free Asia that the water quality in Shanghai has always been poor. Some people drink tap water and feel salty, which must be caused by the backflow of seawater. Negative news related to people's livelihood, such as the depletion of water sources, is not reported by official news for fear of "causing panic".

There are four major drinking water sources in Shanghai, namely Qingcaosha, Chenhang, Dongfengxisha and Jinze Reservoirs in the upper reaches of the Huangpu River.

Taiwan reiterates the definition of "first strike" and resolutely defends against the CCP

Qiu Guozheng, Minister of Defense of the Republic of China, reiterated that in response to the escalation of the CCP's provocation, the definition of "first strike" needs to be rewritten. "First hit".

When Taiwan's Legislative Yuan questioned the Executive Yuan's policy address on Tuesday (11 October 2022), it once again focused on security issues. Following the redefinition of "first strike" for the first time last week, Foreign Minister Qiu Guozheng reiterated that the change in the concept of "first strike" is due to the fact that the CCP has also changed its definition of launching missiles and artillery shells as "first strike" but now the CCP's drones cross the border at will, causing great trouble, so the "crossing" of the drone is defined as a new "first strike".

Tang Hao, an international affairs commentator, said, "So the Taiwan military has publicly revised the definition of the CCP's 'first strike', which is a rare tough statement since the third Taiwan Strait crisis in 1996. In addition to warning the CCP's provocation, the Taiwan military at the same time is also necessary to protect homeland security, stabilize the hearts of the military and the people, and demonstrate to the international community Taiwan's determination and ability to defend its homeland, so as to win more international allies to firmly support Taiwan."

Tang Hao, a senior international affairs expert, said that after Pelosi's visit to Taiwan, the CCP has greatly escalated its military intimidation against Taiwan.

Tang Hao said, "Later, the CCP launched the 'gray zone' strategy of drone invasion, trying to make the invasion of Taiwan's airspace a 'new normal', while also reconnaissance of Taiwan's military intelligence, which has already affected Taiwan's sovereignty and security, constituting a serious threat."

However, although the Taiwan authorities have expressed the concept of the new "first strike" twice, they have never stated how they will respond to the CCP's "first strike" provocation.

Tang Hao commented, "There are many ways to respond to drone intrusions, including shooting down live ammunition, playing signal flares, anti-air balloons and electronic jamming guns, etc. The Taiwan military has used several methods to counter drones in the Kinmen area. Next, Taiwan's military may push the 'remote-controlled drone defense system' developed by the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Because using 'defense' means to counteract is safer than shooting down with live ammunition, and it is less likely to give the CCP an excuse to expand its military dispute."

Qiu Guozheng also said that the current situation on both sides of the strait is indeed severe. On the Double Tenth National Day of the Republic of China alone, 26 CCP military aircraft and four CCP warships interfered around the Taiwan Strait.

Fox's latest power rankings: Republicans will win the House of Representatives

Fox's latest strength rankings for the midterm elections on October 11 show that the current economic situation is shifting in favour of the Republicans, who are still expected to win the House majority.

With 28 days to go before the midterm elections, Fox released its latest power rankings.

In the House of Representatives, Republicans are forecast to win 231 seats, Democrats to 204, and 218 seats to win the House majority. The ranking also predicts that the best and worst-case scenarios for Democrats are 220 and 189, respectively, and 246 and 215 for Republicans. In the House of Representatives, the most closely contested seats are 31.

In the Senate, Republicans are expected to win 49 seats and Democrats 47 seats, with neither side having a clear advantage. Arizona, Georgia, Nevada and Pennsylvania will decide who ultimately controls the Senate.

While the latest forecast is similar to the September forecast, there are signs that the tide is turning in favor of the Republican Party. In last week's Monmouth University poll, 60% of independent voters said economic issues were the most important, voters who care about inflation consistently support the Republican Party in the poll, and the more voters worry about the rising cost of living, the more there will be Democrats lost.

Millions of Americans can already vote early. Swing states such as Florida, Georgia, Ohio and Pennsylvania are voting by absentee. Republicans prefer to vote on Election Day than Democrats who tend to vote early, so early voting does not reflect the final result.

U.S. midterm elections: Nevada shows signs of red wave rising

美中期选举:内华达州显现红波上涨迹象

There are signs that Nevada may see a red wave in the US midterm elections in November, putting the Democratic Party's control of this key state at risk, and could cost the party control of its U.S. Senate.

Recent polls show former state Attorney General Adam Laxalt, the Republican Senate candidate backed by former President Trump, consistently leads incumbent Democratic Senator Kathryn Cortez • Catherine Cortez Masto, albeit by a small lead. It shows how the economy and inflation are dominating the minds of residents in this tourism-heavy state, the Republicans' top concern in the midterm elections.

While Democrats believe the two parties have been close in the swing state, they concede that the stakes are higher there this year.

Nevada Gov. Steve Sisolak is running for re-election against Clark County Sheriff Joe Lombardo. Like Laxalter, Lombardo won Trump's support in the primary.

Also, the death last year of former Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid was a huge loss for Democrats because of his ability to draw more voters for Democrats in the state.

House elections also face tough competition. Democratic Rep. Susie Lee faces a formidable challenge from real estate attorney April Becker in Nevada's 3rd Congressional District; another incumbent Democrat, Rep. Dina Titus in the state's 1st congressional district is also battling retired Army Colonel Mark Robertson.

The Cook Political Report, an online newsletter that analyzes election activity, sees both races as unpredictable but polls so far show Republicans have reason to be optimistic.

A CNN poll released last week showed Laxalter leading Cortez Masto, Long, 48 percent to 46 percent of likely voters surveyed. Bardo also leads Sisolak 48% to 46%. Both surveys were within the margin of error, and it could be said that the two sides were tied.

In the race for secretary of state, Republicans are also currently in the lead. A joint poll released earlier this month by The Nevada Independent, a Nevada electronic newspaper, and Arizona-based market research firm OH Predictive Insights, denies the results of the 2020 presidential election and favors Trump. Former state Congressman Jim Marchant leads his Democratic opponent Cisco Aguilar 39 percent to 31 percent.

Elizabeth Ray, a spokeswoman for Lombardo's campaign, said in a statement that the Republican candidate was gaining momentum "because Nevadans believe in Joe for better schools and safer streets in our state and a stronger economic vision", while Sisolak's work record shows "frustration and failure".

Molly Forgey, a spokeswoman for Sisolak's campaign, believes the race is still hot and has used the abortion issue to criticize Republican gubernatorial candidates, saying "Joe Lombardo is more concerned with depriving Nevadans with access to reproductive health care".

A contested election in the battleground state of Nevada is nothing new. In 2016, Cortez Masto won her Senate seat by a narrow 2-point margin; in 2018, Sisolak defeated the then Republican gubernatorial nominee by just 4 points.

Large-scale cluster infection broke out in Lanzhou

When the Seventh Plenary Session of the 19th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China was held, the epidemic situation in mainland China continued to spread in many places.

On Monday (10 October), the CCP officially released data saying that 1,939 local transmission cases were reported in the past 24 hours, the highest level since 20 August

The CCP is accustomed to concealing epidemic figures, so the true number of infected people has always been considered a serious underreport. However, before the convening of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the outbreak of the epidemic again became the need of the authorities to "maintain stability".

After Henan offered a reward of 50,000 RMB for reporting positive cases, Shanxi Yongji City simply issued a notification that even if there was no local epidemic, the city would be closed for three days.

Also forcibly closed the city without the epidemic, there is also Haicheng, Liaoning. From 8 to 11 October 2022, Haicheng implemented three-day temporary static management.

Mr. Li, a merchant from Haicheng, Liaoning Province, said, "Now we are in Haicheng. There is no epidemic in the city. Now there are epidemics around. There are trains and expressways, so they can't get off."

Xinjiang tourists were banned from re-employment

In Xinjiang, the unblocking of Urumqi, Korla and other places is still a long way off, and a large number of foreigners who come to Xinjiang to work are in a difficult situation.

Mr. Su, a migrant worker from Ili, Xinjiang: "I don't have a penny, and the boss doesn't give me any money anymore. I'm worried to death. Now a cabbage costs more than 20 RMB, and now  what I eat, wear, and drink is a question."

The Xinjiang authorities even directly demanded that the tourists who were sealed off and unable to leave the area “re-employ”.

Lockdown warnings for Shanghainese

A Shanghai netizen who claimed to be trapped in Xinjiang said, "I came to Xinjiang to play, but I was arrested on the ground, and I can't go back to Shanghai. The autonomous region gave me a work visa, and I will return to Shanghai after the 20th National Congress."

The netizen also said that "it's really not a problem of the epidemic", but "the need for a meeting."

At the same time, the epidemic in Shanghai and Beijing also suddenly rebounded before the 20th National Congress.

Trucks loaded with isolation barriers drove into the community, setting off another round of lockdown warnings for Shanghainese.

At present, 10 districts in Shanghai have been infected, and many streets have been closed.

Ms. Zhou, a Shanghai citizen (changed her voice): "There are more places to be blocked, and the Fangcang shelter hospital has started again. Now we can't guarantee it when we come out. I don't know if we will be blocked and charged when we go home."

Ms. Zhou (changed her voice): "We were locked up for 3 months a while ago, and I was sick at home. Now it seems that the second wave has started."

However, unlike the authorities' closure, control and stability maintenance on the grounds of the epidemic, the news of a new round of cluster outbreaks in Lanzhou, Gansu was severely suppressed by the authorities.

Since October 4, Lanzhou University of Arts and Sciences has been closed due to an outbreak of cluster infection. In an interview with The Epoch Times, a third-year student at the school revealed that the current epidemic is basically out of control, with positive and non-positive living mixed in the dormitory, and many people have a fever of 39°C and 40°C. .

At present, a large number of students in the school have been taken away and quarantined, and the makeshift hospital for thousands of people is full.

Xiaoqiang (pseudonym), a third-year student at Lanzhou College of Arts and Sciences: "I am pulling (people are quarantined) every day, and I am pulling every day, but now I can't pull it, because there are too many people. To put it an exaggeration, on our school's bus, the wheels of the car are almost smoking."

On 9 October 2022, Lanzhou reported only 67 asymptomatic cases.

Xiaoqiang (pseudonym), a third-year student at Lanzhou University of Arts and Sciences: "Now that the Weibo trending search is not going anywhere, the Lanzhou Internet Police sent a private letter asking you to delete the video or something, saying that the news has not been confirmed, so it cannot be released. go out."

Crimea Bridge bombed, Putin retaliates, 84 missiles hit Ukraine

More than a dozen Ukrainian cities, including Kyiv, Kharkov, and Odessa, were bombed by Russian missiles. On 10 October 10, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the strike was a response to the bombing of the Crimea Bridge; Medvedev, vice chairman of the Russian Security Council, said that the goal of future operations is to eradicate the Kyiv regime.

On Monday (10 October), Ukrainian capital Kyiv and other cities were hit by missiles, and the explosion caused serious damage to roads and other infrastructure. Ukraine said the explosion had killed at least 14 people and injured dozens more.

Firefighters were busy putting out the fires caused by the explosions. Among them, Kyiv was the worst hit. The roads in the center of the city were blown into large holes and smoke was emitted from vehicles. The streets were littered with bombed-out buildings and shattered glass. This is also the first time in months that Kyiv has been attacked.

Kyiv resident Svitlana Maltseva said, "It was too loud. We heard a crash."

The Ukrainian military said that Russia on 10 October launched a total of 84 cruise missiles into Ukraine. In addition to Kyiv, eight Ukrainian cities including Lviv and Zaporizhzhia were shelled .

Hours after the blast, Russian President Vladimir Putin said it was retaliation for the destruction of the Crimea bridge.

Putin: "According to the proposal of the Ministry of Defense, and according to the plan of the Russian General Staff, attack Ukraine's energy facilities, military command and communication facilities with long-range high-precision, air, sea-based and land-based weapons."

Ukraine has not claimed responsibility for the attack on a bridge linking Russia and Crimea on Saturday.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy issued a statement Monday condemning Putin's missile attack on Monday for harming innocent civilians.

Zelenskyy commented, "Deliberately at a time like this, deliberately choosing such a target to cause as much damage as possible. But. We are Ukrainians. We help each other, we believe in ourselves."

He warned that some areas would be cut off and told people to stay in shelters for their own safety.

布拉格动物园台湾穿山甲怀孕 欧洲首见

The Prague Zoo in the Czech capital confirmed on the 11th that a female pangolin from Taipei Zoo is pregnant. If the birth goes smoothly, it will be the first successful breeding of pangolins in Europe.

According to the Prague Zoo, the female pangolin "Throat Lozenge", who stayed with the male pangolin "Fruit Treasure" in April this year, was confirmed to be pregnant by ultrasound examination, and the expected delivery date is from mid-December to mid-January 2023.

Miroslav Bobek, director of the Prague Zoo, said that the pangolin's pregnancy is a great encouragement to the zoo. If the birth will be the first pangolin baby born in Europe, "it will be a great Christmas gift".

The Throat Lozenge and Fruit Treasure borrowed from the Taipei Zoo will be open to the public in mid-May after quarantine. The zoo first kept the two separately, and then brought them together after a month for mating.

The garden has also designed a special bracket to facilitate the nurses to perform ultrasound examinations and blood collection on Throat Lozenge. The first examination in August shows the pangolin was not pregnant, and the recent examination finally confirmed that she was pregnant.

In January 2020, Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic, and Taipei became sister cities. Since then, they have fully promoted the pangolin colonization plan at the Taipei Zoo. This pair of pangolins can be said to be a symbol of the friendship between the two cities.

Prague Mayor Zdeněk Hřib, who has visited Taiwan twice, is pleased that the city's diplomacy has come to fruition in this way, "It can be seen that the pair of pangolins have a very good life at the Prague Zoo and enjoy a romantic living environment."

All he can do now, he said, is to wish them the best of luck in giving birth to the next generation.

Half a year ago, when Lozenge and Treasure  first moved into their new home in Prague, Taipei Zoo spokesman Cao Xianshao pointed out in an interview with a reporter from the Central News Agency that Lozenge was more than 4 years old, and they were just the right mates; Guobao was a young boy, look forward to the successful breeding of Prague Zoo.

Prague is the second European zoo to have Taiwanese pangolins after Leipzig in Germany. Vienna's Tiergarten Schönbrunn, the world's oldest zoo, has also expressed interest in keeping pangolins.

Cao Xianshao said that the long-term goal of the Taipei Zoo is to establish a breeding population of pangolins in European zoos.
