Locally trapped tourists posted videos on Chinese social platforms in an attempt to gain public opinion but the videos were quickly blocked.

Later videos showed that the authorities sent a large number of police officers to violently arrest several tourists, especially the "leaders of trouble."

The relevant video was posted on overseas Twitter, and many netizens expressed their confusion, "There are already lessons from Sanya, why are there so many people traveling?"

At the beginning of August this year, the tourist city of Sanya in Hainan was suddenly closed, and more than 100,000 tourists were forced to stay for several days. Tourists are not only hopeless to board the plane, but also have to accept the exploitation of local high-priced hotels and restaurants. While suffering economic losses, their jobs are also delayed. Tourists had nowhere to go, and protests continued, but they were all suppressed.

Now, on the eve of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the epidemic situation continues in many places, and local governments have intensified the implementation of "dynamic clearing" in order to "maintain stability".

According to online news, Xinjiang has internally notified that the entire autonomous region is closed, and all trains and flights out of the region have been suspended. There are local government notices claiming that "local epidemic prevention has failed" and so on.

Thousands of people trapped at Xishuangbanna Airport, police cracked down with guns

Reporters : Chen Jie, Li Shanshan, and Boni / https://www.ntdtv.com/gb/2022/10/05/a103544251.html

During the "October 1" holidays, an epidemic broke out in Xishuangbanna, Yunnan Province, and the authorities ordered the city to be locked down. Thousands of tourists were trapped at the airport. Armed police in protective suits threatened to protest tourists with guns, and many were arrested.

On 4 October, Xishuangbanna Prefecture issued a notice saying that from 2 pm that day, it is not necessary to leave the state. Persons leaving the state are required to undergo 5-day health monitoring, during which three nucleic acid tests are negative, and they can leave without symptoms such as fever, dry cough, and loss of smell.

Mr. Mu, a citizen of Xishuangbanna: "We received a 3-day nucleic acid test for all staff. Since last night, many places have been closed, and we can only enter but not go out."

The video showed that a large number of tourists were trapped at Xishuangbanna Airport. Tourists complained that the airport was suddenly blocked, and they could not leave. The flight came in and passengers were not allowed to board.

Staff at a hotel near Xishuangbanna Airport: "In the past two days, there have been individual cases. Let's start at two o'clock in the afternoon yesterday. All outbound flights are temporarily suspended. Our hotel is deployed with the government, and all stranded guests must be arranged to stay. Yes. These guests are not satisfied with the government's policy, so they are all at the airport and are unwilling to come out."

Multiple videos online showed tourists getting emotional and shouting "go home" in unison. Some people also asked to see the officials, but the officials did not show up. Instead, several suspected SWAT policemen threatened tourists with guns. A tourist said, "You just point your guns at your people", and then several tourists were arrested.

Ms. Qiu, a citizen of Jinghong, Yunnan: "You can come in these days. If you fly directly, there is no problem. If you come in, you will not be able to leave. These days, you are being checked. That's for sure. If you don't finish the nucleic acid test, how can they let you go out casually? If you want to defy the epidemic control, (the police arrest people) will happen everywhere. "

In addition, some netizens posted on Weibo that there was an epidemic in Xishuangbanna on 2 October, but unsuspecting tourists were still allowed to enter. Others said there was a group of 1,089 stranded tourists from Shanghai. During the mandatory quarantine period, the local food and lodging skyrocketed, and the prices were skyrocketing.

Some people also believe that the authorities are only using the epidemic to control and reap benefits.

Mr. Dong, a citizen of Yunnan: "Only they know the real cases and the fake cases. They have many purposes. Apart from control, one is to harvest profits, and the other can do anything else. Maybe they deliberately created a serious atmosphere. "

Pompeo choked on the release of the pressure letter from the Chinese embassy

The Hudson Institute, a Washington think tank, established the China Center, with former US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo serving as the chairman of the advisory committee. Pompeo posted on Twitter on 4 October 2022, disclosing a letter of pressure from the CCP Chinese embassy in the United States on the Hudson Institute. Pompeo not only pointed out that CCP would not succeed, but also attached a tough label of "dumping garbage" back to China.

The Hudson Institute China Center recently released Pompeo's series of short films "Talking directly to the Chinese people about U.S.-China relations", exposing China's lies. The people are the enemy, and the biggest lie told is that it represents the whole of China. The second episode is titled "The CCP's Lies About American Race Issues", referring to the CCP's attempt to divide Americans based on race and lie about the United States to the world.

Pompeo tweeted on the 4th, publishing a letter from the Chinese embassy in the United States, saying, "The CCP wants me to stop telling the truth, but this will not happen." He also attached an action tag, which means to throw this letter in the trash.

In the letter from the Chinese embassy in the United States, the accusation of the short film released by the Hudson Institute China Center is a baseless accusation. The miracle of social stability has lifted more than 800 million people out of poverty and completed modernization in just a few decades. The letter also used the guise of a Harvard University poll to say that 90% of Chinese are satisfied with the Communist Party and the CCP0 government. "Any attempt to cut off the Chinese Communist Party and the Chinese people is doomed to failure."

In response, many netizens responded in support of Pompeo, "This is typical Chinese propaganda nonsense, we support you", "Do what the CCP doesn't want to do, and say what the CCP forbids to say, that's fighting for humanity and justice." . Some people said sarcastically, "They know what they're writing?" "They're really good at copying, but what about innovation? They don't innovate because they don't have the freedom to create." "If they believe what they say, tear down the firewall and give Chinese people's right to vote."

蓬佩奥公开中共的施压信 反呛“我不停止讲真相”

Former U.S. Secretary of State Pompeo tweeted on Tuesday (4 October) a letter of pressure from the Chinese embassy in the United States, accusing the Washington think tank he is affiliated with. The Hudson Institute also expressed dissatisfaction with the series of videos he made with the Chinese people.

Pompeo made public the letter from the Chinese embassy and wrote, "The Chinese Communist Party wants me to stop telling the truth. This is impossible." He then attached an action tag, saying that he would throw the CCP's letter into wastepaper basket.

Pompeo currently chairs the advisory board of the Hudson Institute's "China Center," with Miles Yu Maochun, his chief adviser on China policy planning, serving as the center's director.

Since 13 September, Pompeo himself has launched a series of videos exposing the CCP's rule, which has attracted widespread attention and subscriptions among Chinese people. Among the two videos that have been released so far, the theme of the first is "The Chinese Communist Party does not represent the Chinese people", and the theme of the second is "The CCP's lies about the American race."

The two videos are about 3 minutes long and concise. In particular, the statement that the CCP is not equal to China has greatly hurt the CCP.

In the pressure letter, the Chinese embassy declared that Pompeo made "baseless accusations against the Chinese Communist Party." The letter used a lot of space to reproduce the CCP's propaganda narrative, including the CCP's leadership of the Chinese people to what it called a huge "achievement."

The letter even used the so-called foreign polls to smear the CCP, saying that 90% of Chinese people are satisfied with the CCP and the CCP government.

A large number of netizens expressed their active support under Pompeo's Twitter exposing the pressure letter from the Chinese embassy.

Netizens left a message saying that the letter from the Chinese embassy proves that Pompeo did the right thing and that China is not a "people's republic" but a "party state".

"This is the point, they (the CCP) are feeling the pain now," the netizen wrote.

Some netizens lamented, paraphrasing the words of the CCP, that the embassy sent a letter to a former U.S. official asking to shut up. This is "truly long-arm jurisdiction."

Some netizens satirized the so-called poll cited by the CCP, saying, “90% of the Chinese surveyed are satisfied with China under the CCP’s rule, and the remaining 10% are now in labour camps and cannot respond. The prisoners' consciousness rises, otherwise they will be beaten all the time!"

So what content of Pompeo's speech stung the CCP's nerves? In the first video, Pompeo said: "The biggest lie the CCP has ever told is that it says it represents China, that it represents Chinese civilization, and I think the CCP knows it's a lie. If Beijing thinks it really represents the Chinese people , it will not spend more money than defense spending to suppress and monitor the Chinese people."

He also said that the CCP is actually an exotic and committed to an ideology that is hostile to the Chinese people.

Pompeo said that both history and his interactions with Chinese leaders have convinced him that "what the CCP really cares about is how to maintain control over the Chinese people."

"If the CCP really represents the Chinese people, the CCP should hold free and fair elections tomorrow, but it won't do that because the so-called people's republic is actually its own people as its enemy," he said.

In the second video, Pompeo said that many Chinese want to visit, study and immigrate to the United States. "The longest queue in the world waiting for a US visa is at our consulate in China."

He said the United States opposes the systemic racism of the CCP in Xinjiang, Tibet, Inner Mongolia and elsewhere, and speaks for the Chinese people there.

Pompeo said in the video, "The undeniable fact is that the most anti-China force in history is the Chinese Communist Party. It is built on a Marxist ideology that has killed tens of millions of Chinese and has gone bankrupt. It also launched a Cultural Revolution that destroyed thousands of years of Chinese culture, and it cannot acknowledge these crimes and downplay them."

Reporters : Hu Zonghan, Zhang Ruizhen / https://www.ntdtv.com/gb/2022/10/05/a103544249.html

The "China Center" of the Hudson Institute, a Washington-based think tank, launched the "Pompeo Night Talks" series of short films in September this year, with former US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo as the keynote speaker , to talk with the Chinese people about U.S.-China relations through the video. On the 4th, Pompeo tweeted a letter of pressure from the Chinese embassy in the United States. Pompeo said, "The Chinese Communist Party wants me to stop telling the truth. Illustration of a barrel. Many netizens applauded, saying that the letter went where it should go.

Former US Secretary of State Pompeo (2022.09.14): "For the CCP, the Chinese people are its biggest enemy."

Pompeo (2022.09.27): "I look forward to the day when the Chinese people can participate in the kind of debate and struggle for freedom that Americans have been waging since 1776. The Chinese people are entitled to better treatment."

The Chinese embassy in the United States declared in its pressure letter that polls show that more than 90 percent of Chinese people are satisfied with the Communist Party and the Chinese government, and that "any attempt to cut off the Chinese Communist Party and the Chinese people is doomed to failure."

Waters, director of the Hudson Institute, responded on Twitter, "The Chinese Communist Party, which committed genocide, is the oppressor of the Chinese people and the enemy of the free people of the world. The Chinese know this, and the Americans know this too. . As a wise man said, 'The truth is the toughest thing.' No one in Hudson was intimidated by this letter."

North Korean missiles fly over Japan, U.S., Japan and South Korea leaders condemn in unison

On 4 October 2022, North Korea launched a medium-range ballistic missile with the farthest flight range to date, flying directly over Japan, sparking strong international condemnation.

Hokkaido Governor Naoda Suzuki said, "North Korea fired a missile that flew over our country, and the nationwide J-Alert system was activated."

On Tuesday, North Korea fired an intermediate-range ballistic missile with a range of about 4,600 kilometers over the northeastern region of Japan. After flying for about 20 minutes, it landed in the Pacific Ocean 3,000 kilometers east of Japan in what could be a North Korean record.

This is the fifth time in the past 10 days that North Korea has launched a missile in violation of UN Security Council resolutions.

Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida: "This is another barbaric act by North Korea after its repeated ballistic missile launches, and we strongly condemn it."

Immediately after the North Korean missile launch, U.S. President Biden spoke by phone with Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, reaffirming the U.S.’s firm commitment to Japan’s defense and security, and the two sides confirmed that they will work closely with South Korea and the international community to coordinate current and long-term responses.

This is the 39th missile North Korea has launched this year, and the U.S. State Department once again strongly condemned it on the same day.

"We condemn this dangerous and reckless launch of a long-range ballistic missile that flew over Japan and posed an unacceptable threat to the Japanese public."

South Korean President Yoon Seok-yul also immediately stated that he would give a clear response to North Korea's reckless provocation.

"North Korea's reckless nuclear provocation by launching a medium- and long-range missile with a range of 4,000 kilometers over Japan will face a decisive response from our military, allies and the international community," South Korean President Yoon Seok-yul said.

The United Nations also quickly issued a statement condemning North Korea's repeated disregard of UN Security Council resolutions.

"This is clearly an escalation, something the Secretary-General has condemned, and we will have a more formal statement soon," U.N. spokesman Dujarric said.

The United States has asked the United Nations Security Council to hold an emergency meeting on North Korea on Wednesday (5 October).

Korean experts: Be wary of Russia's demonstration effect on North Korea

North Korea has launched ballistic missiles five times in the past 10 days, and has continued to escalate its provocative efforts. South Korean experts believe that it is necessary to pay attention to Russia's invasion of Ukraine and its demonstration effect on North Korea.

North Korea launched a medium- and long-range ballistic missile on the morning of the 4th in the area of Muping-ri, Jajiang-do. This is the fifth time North Korea has launched a ballistic missile in the past 10 days, and it is also the first medium- and long-range ballistic missile launched in eight months. The provocation has escalated.

This is the ninth time North Korea has launched a missile since South Korean President Yoon Seok-wyeh took office. So far this year, North Korea has launched 21 ballistic missiles and 2 cruise missiles. In particular, this test is the first to fly over Japan after five years, which is considered to have strong political intentions.

Park Hye-ro, director of the North Korea Nuclear Response Research Institute of the Korean Peninsula Advancement Foundation: "Japan is very sensitive to war and security issues, so Japan should pay attention. I think North Korea wants to shift its external attention to itself and bring missiles launched with political intent."

North Korea announced in September that it would legalize its "nuclear force policy" and said it would not give up its nuclear weapons. Experts believe that as North Korea's survival crisis becomes increasingly severe, the Pyongyang authorities will increase provocations.

Park Hye-ro: “(Because) North Korea has little chance of continuing to survive through normal methods, (so) North Korea will compensate for its own survival by obtaining political, economic, and territorial benefits through nuclear threats, or even through the use of a few nuclear weapons. "

At the end of the year, international politics will enter the peak season. The 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China will be held at the end of October, and the US mid-term election will be held in early November. According to expert analysis, the pace of North Korea's test launch will not be affected by external factors because North Korea has its own set goals.

Park Hye-ro: "North Korea has determined the country's major policy direction. As everyone knows, after building North Korea into a 'powerful and prosperous country', it will merge South Korea and the entire Korean peninsula will be communist. With the nuclear force, North Korea will do it according to its own strategy, according to its own plan.”

Experts believe that Russia's military annexation of parts of Ukraine may have a demonstrative effect on North Korea. If Russia goes badly, North Korea may launch another missile in support of Russia, distracting the United States.

Park Hwi-ro: "If (Russia) launches a nuclear weapon, North Korea will also launch it. Russia is currently voting on a mandatory merger, if Russia succeeds. Then North Korea (probably) will also attack and occupy South Korea, and then merge."

Declassified intelligence from the United States in September this year showed that Russia purchased millions of artillery shells and rockets from North Korea. Although North Korea denies it, the alliance between North Korea, Russia and even the CCP to contain the West has attracted more and more international attention. Experts also reminded that with Putin in a stalemate, Moscow did not rule out prompting North Korea to test fire and jointly contain the West.

Russia's two chambers pass annexation law to seize four parts of eastern Ukraine

On Tuesday (4 October 2022), the Russian Federation Council passed a bill to "approve" the integration of four Ukrainian regions into Russia.

Following the Russian State Duma (lower house) on Monday approved a bill to annex four Russian theaters in Ukraine, the Russian Federation Council (upper house) voted on the draft on Tuesday.

The screen shows that the four Ukrainian regions have passed the Russian accession bill with a support rate of about 90%.

Federal Council Chairperson Valentina Matviyenko: "My colleagues, the bill we immediately adopted and approved will be sent to the President of the Russian Federation (Putin) for consideration."

The Kremlin later said that Putin should soon sign the bill into effect, formally incorporating the four Russian-occupied Ukrainian territories: Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporozhzhia.

伊朗航班收到炸弹威胁 拒停印度一路直飞广州
A flight from Iran, an "ally" of the Chinese Communist Party, received a bomb threat in the air but refused to land in India. Instead, it flew straight all the way to its destination, Guangzhou. Officials from the Chinese Communist Party claimed that "no abnormalities were found" after the flight landed.

According to several foreign media reports, Iran's Mahan Air Flight W5081 flew from Tehran to Guangzhou on Monday (3 October 2022) but that morning, after the plane entered Indian airspace, the Indian authorities received a notification from the Iranian government that someone might have placed a bomb on the plane.

The Indian Air Force immediately dispatched fighter jets to scramble to intercept and accompany the airliner. At one point, the pilot on the Mahan Air plane asked Indian authorities to allow him to land at Delhi Airport in the Indian capital, New Delhi, but New Delhi's air traffic control center refused. Delhi Airport is the largest and most important airport in South Asia.

New Delhi asked the Iranian airliner to land at the airport in Jaipur, or it could choose to fly to the airport in Chandigarh but the pilots of the airliner refused and said they would continue to fly to Guangzhou, the original destination of the trip.

During the dialogue with the Indian air traffic control center, the passenger plane circled in the sky several times, and finally flew into Myanmar airspace and continued its journey to Guangzhou.

The IAF said in a statement that shortly after the airliner's pilot refused to land, there was a new notification from Tehran that the bomb warning had been ignored.

In the evening of the same day, Guangzhou Baiyun Airport issued a notice saying that flight W581 landed at Baiyun Airport at 5.01 pm local time.

According to a new study, a city-sized asteroid crashed into Earth 66 million years ago. Not only did it destroy the dinosaurs, it also triggered a huge tsunami that swept across the planet.

The asteroid, about 8.7 miles (14 kilometers) wide, left an impact crater about 62 miles (100 kilometers) wide near Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula. In addition to ending dinosaur domination of the planet at the time, the direct impact also caused the mass extinction of 75 percent of the planet's animals and plants.

When the asteroid hit Earth, it produced a series of catastrophic changes: global temperature fluctuations; aerosols such as soot and dust in the air; as the flaming material blasted by the impact re-entered the atmosphere and descended again, large area wildfires began to burn. Within 48 hours, a tsunami swept across the continents of the planet. Its power is thousands of times greater than the tsunami caused by modern earthquakes.

The researchers used modeling to better understand the tsunami and its reach. They found evidence to support their findings on the path and force of tsunamis by studying 120 ocean sediment cores from around the globe. The study, published Tuesday (4 October 2022) in the journal American Geophysical Union Advances, details their findings.

The asteroid impact that wiped out the dinosaurs happened in spring

The authors of the study say it is the first to be published in a peer-reviewed scientific journal to simulate a global-scale tsunami from the Chicxulub impact.

According to the study, the tsunami was powerful enough to create sky-high waves more than a mile high and wash the ocean floor thousands of miles from the asteroid's impact site. It effectively erased sediment records from before the event, as well as during the event.

Molly Range, lead author of the study, said: "This tsunami was powerful enough to disturb and destroy sediments in ocean basins around the globe, leaving gaps in the sedimentary record or a disorganized old sediments." She started the research as an undergraduate and completed it in her master's thesis at the University of Michigan.

The researchers estimated the tsunami was 30,000 times more powerful than the December 26, 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami, one of the largest on record, killing 230,000 people. The energy of the asteroid impact was at least 100,000 times greater than that of the Tonga volcanic eruption earlier this year.

Tracing the path of an ancient tsunami

Study co-author Brandon Johnson, an associate professor at Purdue University, used a large computer explosion hydrodynamics program called Hydrocode to simulate the Chicxulub impact, including the impact of the formation of the crater and the beginning of the tsunami.

He factored in the asteroid's size and its speed, and when it hit the granite crust and shallow waters of the Yucatan Peninsula, the estimate showed it was traveling at 26,843 miles per hour.

In less than three minutes after the impact, rocks, sediments and other debris pushed a massive wall of water away from the impact, creating a 2.8-mile-tall giant, according to simulations. wave. The wave subsided as the material from the impact explosion fell back to the surface.

However, as the debris fell, it created more chaotic waves.

Ten minutes after the impact, a ring-shaped wave about a mile high began rushing toward the ocean in all directions from a distance of 137 miles (220 km) from the impact point.

The researchers then fed two different global tsunami models into this simulation: MOM6 and MOST. MOM6 is used to simulate deep-ocean tsunamis, while MOST is part of tsunami predictions by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's Tsunami Warning Centers.

The two models produced almost identical results. This gave the team a timeline of how the tsunami occurred.

An hour after impact, the huge tsunami had crossed the Gulf of Mexico into the North Atlantic Ocean; four hours after impact, the waves had passed through the Central American Seaway and into the Pacific Ocean. The Central American Seaway once separated North and South America.

Within 24 hours, the waves entered the Indian Ocean from both sides after crossing the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans; and within 48 hours of impact, huge tsunami waves had reached most of the Earth's coastlines.

The changing ocean floor continues to change

The resulting underwater currents are strongest in the North Atlantic, Central American Seaways and South Pacific, exceeding 0.4 mph (643 m/h), enough to blow up sediment on the seafloor.

Meanwhile, the Indian Ocean, North Pacific, South Atlantic and Mediterranean Seas were shielded from the tsunami's worst impact, with smaller underwater currents.

The team analyzed information from 120 sediments, mostly from previous scientific ocean drilling projects. In waters protected from tsunamis, there are more intact sediment layers. At the same time, there were sediment gaps in the areas where the tsunami passed.
