The local epidemic of Wuhan pneumonia (covid, COVID-19) is gradually leaving the plateau, but RSV (respiratory fusion virus) is starting to show its power! Qiu Zhengxun, deputy director of Chang Gung Memorial Hospital in Linkou, pointed out that the number of cases in children under the age of 3 in Taiwan has surged recently, and many children are seriously ill enough to be hospitalized. Taking Chang Gung Memorial Hospital as an example, 3 of the 5 inpatients were infected with RSV. It is said that for children, the RSV epidemic is more serious than covid.”

Qiu Zhengxun pointed out that the recent covid epidemic has gradually left the plateau period, but RSV has begun to make a comeback together with adenovirus, parainfluenza virus, rhinovirus, etc. It is a very troublesome virus for children under 3 years old, and can cause bronchiolitis, pneumonia, Although the fatality rate is very low, the course of the disease will be prolonged, and even severe cases may require hospitalization for a week.

Qiu Zhengxun said that small patients often have cough and asthma for a long time after infection, especially children with allergies. They must be given humid and warm gas during treatment, and parents have to take time off to take care of children due to hospitalization. The social impact is not as small as the covid epidemic. "There are many children waiting to be hospitalized after being infected, but there is still room for the special ward of COVID-19."

Qiu Zhengxun pointed out that RSV has no vaccine and no antiviral drugs. Although the symptoms of adult infection are very mild, it is quite threatening to people with weak immunity, such as organ transplants, immunodeficiency and cancer patients, and reminds the public not to bring children to crowded places. When taking children to crowded places, you should also pay attention to your own personal protection, and do not bring the virus home to infect your family. "Be mentally prepared, this immune debt phenomenon may last for a year."

RSV attacks in autumn and winter

Covid, influenza virus, respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), facing the simultaneous threat of three viruses this autumn and winter, the "immune debt" strike makes parents nervous Nervous, doctors reminded that the implementation of epidemic prevention measures should not be slack, and the vaccines should be fully filled to avoid mutual infection among peers, so that the virus peak period in autumn and winter can still be safely passed.

Guo Yiting, a pediatric neurologist at TECO General Hospital, said that the number of pediatric outpatient cases has risen, and the number of inpatients has continued to increase. A 6-month-old girl was infected with RSV by her sister who was studying in a kindergarten. The sister had mild symptoms and recovered quickly. The girl's condition deteriorated rapidly. Not only did she have a fever and cough, but she also developed shortness of breath, poor mental energy and appetite. He was diagnosed with acute bronchiolitis with dehydration, and was hospitalized with oxygen mask and bronchodilator treatment. He was discharged home one week later.

Guo Yiting said that the RSV has existed for a long time, and the number of outpatient visits since September has increased by more than 40% compared with the past, and the cases of moderate and severe cases have also increased a lot. From the concept of "immunity debt", everyone's epidemic prevention measures have been well done in the past two years, which has greatly reduced the chance of exposure to respiratory viruses but it also means that everyone has no antibodies in their bodies, so that after returning to normal life, the virus spreads easily.

Image : Physician Guo Yiting from the Pediatric Neurology Department reminded that the implementation of epidemic prevention measures should not be slack, and the vaccines should be fully filled to avoid mutual infection among peers, and to safely pass the peak period of the virus in autumn and winter. (Photo by reporter Liao Xueru)

Guo Yiting pointed out that covid, influenza virus, and respiratory fusion virus are all transmitted through droplets or contact. The incubation period of RSV is about 2-8 days, and the symptoms are like a common cold: cough, fever, runny nose, but the most worrying thing is that the course of the disease deteriorates rapidly, and it will progress to the level of severe coughing and shortness of breath. Severe respiratory failure requires hospitalization Use a respirator to assist treatment. Children under the age of 2 and the elderly with weakened immune systems should be especially careful. High-risk groups also include premature babies, children with chronic lung disease, neuromuscular disease, congenital heart disease, or asthma.

Influenza is characterized by high fever and obvious systemic symptoms, such as gastrointestinal discomfort and muscle soreness; covid is difficult to distinguish by symptoms due to the characteristics of different virus strains. However, medical institutions are equipped with rapid screening tests, which can make a timely and accurate diagnosis.

Parents need to pay attention to the fact that RSV antibodies do not have lifelong immunity, and there is still a chance of secondary infection after infection, and the child may be infected with two viruses at the same time, which makes the situation more complicated. Therefore, Guo Yiting suggested that both children and primary caregivers should be vaccinated against COVID-19 vaccine and influenza vaccine to form a complete protective net to protect the elderly and children with weak resistance at home.

Guo Yiting said that although there is currently no vaccine for RSV, the health insurance has been relaxed this year to allow premature infants who are born under 33 weeks of gestation, children with chronic lung disease and congenital heart disease with unstable hemodynamics to receive respiratory fusion. A monoclonal antibody to the virus (Palivizumab) to avoid serious complications from RSV infection. In addition, stay away from secondhand smoke that can worsen the disease, and babies can continue to breastfeed. Breastmilk contains immunoglobulins and other immune factors that fight respiratory cell fusion viruses, which can reduce infection rates and disease severity.

Zeng Shengguang, a 25-year-old Taiwanese man who joined the Ukrainian Volunteer Army, was injured and died of blood loss during a battle with the Russian army in Luhansk Oblast. Zeng Shengguang's wife confirmed that he had received the bad news that he was the first Taiwanese to die in the war in Ukraine.

Zeng Shengguang's wife Huang Lizhen works in Taoyuan. She pointed out in a telephone interview with a reporter from the Central News Agency this evening that her husband has an upright personality and a sense of justice. He has been in the army for five years, and after the Russian-Ukrainian war started, he has always wanted to go to Ukraine after being discharged from the army for one year. Joining the ranks of volunteers, I was once stopped for fear of safety, but Mr.

Huang Lizhen said that Zeng Shengguang was originally scheduled to leave in March, but because the Ukrainian military stopped accepting the international army, he temporarily gave up the idea. He was informed by the Ukrainian army in June and went immediately.

She said that Zeng Shengguang promised to maintain contact with his family before he left, and he did it. During the period, he used communication software to contact him. The last contact was on October 23, and he said that he would perform a five-day mission.

Huang Lizhen said that in the past, Zeng Shengguang would have less contact when he was on a mission, but he would report safety as soon as possible after the mission. This time, there was no news after 6 days, and he felt that something was wrong.

Huang Lizhen said that on 30 October, a member of the military contacted her proactively, saying, "Ah Guang is very safe, but the current signal is not good, and there is no way to contact her family."

"Tonight, a message from my husband appeared on my mobile phone, but it was news of death." Huang Lizhen said that her colleague used her husband's mobile phone to send a message, saying that Zeng Shengguang was attacked during the mission on the 2nd and died of serious injuries on the way to the hospital.

Huang Lizhen said that she just breathed a sigh of relief, and she received bad news every few days. Now her mind is blank. She has to rush back to her hometown in Ji'an Township, Hualien overnight to accompany her father-in-law and mother-in-law, and then discuss how to deal with the funeral.

Zeng Shengguang, a 25-year-old Amis from Hualien, joined the Ukrainian Volunteer Army. It was reported that he was killed on the front line a few days ago. He has some records of his life in Ukraine in the war on Facebook. You can see him wearing the flag armband of the Republic of China on the battlefield. Running around, Zeng proudly left a message saying, "I didn't lose the face of the army." In addition, he also shared many articles looking forward to the reform of the national army. In August, the relationship between the two sides of the strait increased. Zeng Shengguang also shared the news that he wanted to return to Taiwan to defend the country.

"To be honest, I'm not sure that I'll be so lucky every time. I'm scared when I hear the sound of guns when I'm half asleep at night. I never know if the next moment will hit your house directly..." Zeng Shengguang's Facebook In the name of Zeng Yuhong, on the 13th of last month, he shared an article someone asked about his treatment in Ukraine, and replied directly to the other party, "If you don't talk about treatment first, you don't know how he died."

On 16 October, he also revealed that when the Russians fled, they left a pile of ammunition and a pile of clothes for them. What the Russians have lost will never be used up.” On 7 October, Zeng Shengguang also posted a video. The content is that he is trying to repair and use a BTR armored vehicle, and he also replied to a friend's message that he "found it", which is suspected to be equipment left by the Russian army's escape.

On 25 September, Zeng Shengguang changed a handsome photo of a military uniform and wrote, "In God we trust" (We trust in God), and you can also see on Facebook that he wrote before his mission, " I want to disappear for a few days," and wrote, "We don't accept trash here, we only accept those who are not afraid of death and dare to rush", "If you are afraid, you will go to a fart military academy?" He also wrote "X!" on the grenade.

In addition to recording military life, Zeng Shengguang also often pays attention to the issue of the reform of the national army in Taiwan. He often shares military commentators' suggestions for the reform of the national army. For example, he thinks that the Hanguang exercise has become a performance, "it is basically for performance", which does not meet actual combat, and believes that it is an obligation. 4 months of service is too short, it should be directly 1 year, and a satirical picture is shared, arguing that the current Whampoa thinking, stabbing skills, diligent and thrifty army building, Vietnam War combat methods, etc. are the reasons for hindering the change.

Zeng Shengguang shared an article arguing that Taiwan's current "civil defense system, reserve mobilization system, disaster response capability, and strategic material reserves are immature or even non-existent." It will take at least 5 years for Taiwan to enter a state of war, and those who tell you that they are ready are bullshit.” Perhaps they want to bring actual combat concepts and technologies back to Taiwan through actual participation in the war.

Regarding the rising tension between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait in August, Zeng Shengguang also shared the news that he wanted to return to Taiwan to defend the country, and some Chinese people came to his Facebook to choke: "Death to Taiwan independence", "no seed on the battlefield", etc. He directly choked back and emphasized himself, "I am Taiwanese, not Chinese." When Russia fired white phosphorus bombs, he also wrote on Facebook, "Fuck you Russians".

Facebook "Me and My Ukrainian Wife Tanya" also shared, "He was also one of the ones who approached us after the war, saying he couldn't bear seeing civilians killed! The unit he participated in the mission was Carpathian Sich, If the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has a way to contact and return his body, please help! Dear friends, please remember that there is a warrior from Hualien, Taiwan, who is willing to stand on the front line for injustice and help people who are far away. Bring back more actual combat experience for Taiwanese reference. You are a warrior from Taiwan! Heroes will never be forgotten.”

Zeng Shengguang's comrades also left a message: "Jonathan, you are my best friend in Asia, I hope you rest in peace. Your mission has been completed, your grave will be full of beautiful roses, and people will walk past your grave with prayers , they will say that you have a beautiful garden, the fragrance of which is the flower of warriors who died for freedom."

Russia invaded Ukraine, and the war lasted for several months. News came out on the 4th that Zeng Shengguang, a Taiwanese volunteer soldier, unfortunately died in the battle in Ukraine. It is worth noting that Zeng Shengguang's behavior of resisting the Russian dictatorship seems to have caused dissatisfaction with the little pinky, who called him "death to Taiwan independence" through private messages.

The 25-year-old Zeng Shengguang is from the Amis ethnic group in Hualien. It was reported yesterday that he died in the Utung War Zone on the 2nd. When the news came out, many people in Taiwan felt very sad and poured into his social platform to leave messages in condolences. This Taiwanese warrior who died for his ideals.

It can be seen from Zeng Shengguang's social platform account that he once posted photos of the Taiwan flag and the Taiwan-Ukraine flag armbands on the battlefield, but perhaps such patriotic behavior touched the sensitive nerves of the little pinky, Zeng Shengguang posted in August with a netizen Screenshot of the conversation, the other party used simplified Chinese characters to rant about "death to Taiwan independence", "playing with you X", "you have nothing to do on the battlefield", "have the ability to send a video with a gun", "Imagine the missile above will make Taiwan independence molecular. For the appearance of ashes", "Taiwan independence elements dare not provoke Russia." In this regard, he responded by scolding the other party, "Have you ever been afraid of losing?", "My (gun) is very big, are you sure you want to see it?"

The Belt and Road "Dangerous Country" asks for help, Beijing says more and does less

Image : CCP China is worried that it will be dragged down by the political and economic situation in the countries participating in the Belt and Road Initiative. Pakistan expects that Beijing will make new financial commitments under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, but hopes are now dashed. (Reuters)

Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif visited China this week. He did not receive support for economic spending such as Beijing's financing and loan extension, and only fulfilled vague and broad diplomatic commitments, highlighting China's fear of being affected by countries participating in the Belt and Road Initiative. The political and economic situation dragged down. Ammar Malik, a researcher at AidData, a research laboratory at the University of William and Mary, told Nikkei Asia that Sharif's two-day visit was "more talk and less action", mainly to reaffirm the strategic partnership between the two countries.

Sharif met with officials including Xi Jinping and Premier Li Keqiang. Xi Jinping only verbally stated that he would continue to support Pakistan but he did not disclose further specific support plans for the loan arrangement promised to provide Pakistan with 15 billion RMB. Likewise, no decision to roll over the debt has been announced.

The Pakistani government expected Beijing to make new financial commitments under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, but its hopes were dashed. The corridor is the $50 billion Pakistani portion of the Belt and Road Initiative. Experts believe that CCP China has made no major financial commitments due to Pakistan's unprecedented political and economic crisis, and many expected Sharif to announce a firm deal on financing terms while in Beijing, but this has not materialized.

Another concern CCP China has about Pakistan is the issue of security. Beijing is concerned about the safety of Chinese citizens in Pakistan, who are targeted by separatist insurgents. CCP hopes that institutions and personnel conducting cooperative projects in Pakistan will provide a reliable and safe environment. Security concerns are another hurdle preventing Beijing from offering new financial commitments, experts say.

Study: Iranian drones rely on Chinese-made Western knockoff parts

研究:伊朗无人机依靠中国产西方山寨零件

For nearly two months, the Russian military has been relying on Iran's "Shahed-136" (Shahed-136) "kamikaze" suicide drone to strike the key to Ukraine infrastructure to create terror. According to a new report, the Kamikaze drones use Chinese-made Western parts.

According to an analysis released Monday (October 31) by the Institute for Science and International Security (ISIS), a U.S. non-profit organization, Iran's "Kamikaze" drone used Beijing's Mike Putt drone. The engine is manufactured by Beijing Micropilot UAV Control Systems, which is a knock-off version of the engine manufactured by the German company Limbach Flugmotoren.

Iran is also re-creating on the basis of Chinese knockoff parts. For example, the Shahed-131, another unmanned aerial vehicle used by the Russian army in Ukraine, has an engine built in Iran, but it was built by reverse engineering an engine from Beijing-based Macputer. The Chinese engine is a copy of the British design.

“China has played a larger role than previously assessed in helping Iran manufacture drones to supply the Russian military,” the researchers wrote in the report, saying Chinese companies are supplying Iran with imitations of Western goods in order to Production of combat drones.

Spencer Faragasso, a researcher at the Institute for Science and International Security, told AOL "Insider" that China somehow got these Western designs, and it is unclear how they got them.

"What seems to be happening here is that China (CCP) has acquired the designs for these engines, produced them locally, and in some cases exported them to Iran," Farragasso said, adding that in other cases, it has been directly confirmed Iran's kamikaze drones contain these engines.

However, the extent of China’s involvement in Iranian drone manufacturing is unclear, nor is it known when Chinese parts arrived in Iran.

In addition to the Chinese knockoff parts, the researchers also determined that the Iranian Shahed-136 and Mohajer-6 drones contained parts made in the United States and Europe.

Ukrainian investigators managed to examine downed Iranian drones and found Western-made parts that help provide the weapons with direction, power and safety, The Wall Street Journal reported last week.

This underscores the high level of vigilance that Western customs officials, governments and businesses must maintain when distributing commercial products with military uses, Farragasso said.

In addition to helping Iran support Russia, Chinese drones appear to have joined the Russia-Ukraine war, even though Chinese drone maker DJI announced in April that it was suspending all operations in Russia and Ukraine.

Ukrainian journalist Julian Röpcke tweeted on 31 October that the Russian military is highly dependent on China’s DJI drones to attack Ukraine. Each Chinese drone costs 12,000 euros.

Ropke expressed concern about AeroScope, DJI’s drone identification and monitoring system, which he said Russia is using to track Ukrainian drones from about 50 km away.

Scholars: Xi Jinping's decoupling caused CCP China to 'lose America'

学者:习近平的脱钩 导致中国“失去了美国”

Xi Jinping publicly said five years ago, "We have a thousand reasons to make Sino-US relations good, and none of them to ruin Sino-US relations." But today, Sino-US relations fell to a low point. Pulitzer Prize-winning New York Times columnist Thomas Friedman said the decoupling under Xi Jinping had caused China to “lose America.”

Friedman wrote in the New York Times on 2 November 2022 that the 40 years of stable integration of CCP China's economy with the West are over, and the "Chexit" under Xi Jinping will be the most important event record history in 2022.

The article quoted Evan Osnos, a CCP China affairs expert at The New Yorker, saying not long ago: “In 2012, 40 percent of Americans had a negative view of China; today, according to the Pew Research Center, that percentage is more than 80%."

"If China had a democratic government, there would surely be someone in the government now demanding to know, 'How did we lose America?'" the article said.

From the following aspects, the author analyzes how the CCP "walked the wrong path" step by step in the past Sino-US relations, so as to "lose the United States".

CCP violates WTO commitments and plagiarizes intellectual property rights

The first trend is that after China joined the World Trade Organization (WTO), it received huge tariff-free or low-tariff access to Western markets, but failed to sign a WTO-affiliated agreement as promised, which would limit China’s huge government spending Ability to discriminate against foreign suppliers when purchasing.

Instead, the CCP continues to subsidize state-owned companies and allow Chinese companies to steal intellectual property from Western companies. Chinese companies then use their protected domestic market to scale up and compete with the same Western companies at home and abroad.

The second trend is that after the Tiananmen Square Incident in 1989, the CCP leadership tried to use super-nationalist coercion to suppress the aspirations of Chinese youth to pursue democracy. The Chinese nationalist movement has come to this day, just like the political writer who has always been regarded as the flag-bearer of Chinese nationalism. Wang Xiaodong said in a recent interview that under the leadership of Xi Jinping, the Chinese nationalist movement "goes too far".

The article said that the arrogance displayed by the CCP "will bring the country into trouble."

3. More provocative foreign policy

A third trend has followed, an increasingly provocative foreign policy that seeks to dominate the entire South China Sea to intimidate close neighbors such as Japan, South Korea, Vietnam, India and Taiwan.

Clearing the epidemic prevention is "disgusting"

The fourth, and most repugnant trend, is the CCP sticking to its "zero" epidemic prevention policy, locking down entire cities while using surveillance on all the new tools the state has: drones, facial recognition, ubiquitous CCTV footage, cell phone tracking, etc. restrict people's freedom.

The author said that this kind of epidemic prevention policy of Xi Jinping is more like preventing the outbreak of the epidemic while preventing the outbreak of freedom.

As early as 2017, when Xi Jinping visited the United States and met with the then President Trump, he publicly said, "We have a thousand reasons to make Sino-U.S. relations good, and there is no reason to ruin Sino-U.S. relations." And promised to improve U.S.-China trade relations.

Trump has also publicly stated more than once that he and Xi Jinping are good friends. And give Xi more than a year to change the US-China trade structure. However, Xi failed to deliver on his promises, leading to the start of the US-China trade war and the rapid cooling of US-China relations.

The New York Times published an article last month, "Xi Jinping "hijacked" by the CCP," which stated that there is indeed a dictator who rules contemporary China, but it is the CCP that Xi serves, not himself. And, like everyone else, he was hijacked by the party in a strange way.

In response, current affairs commentator Wang He told The Epoch Times that the New York Times writers keenly discovered the CCP’s use of Xi Jinping. The Communist Party is now in crisis and needs such a person to continue its life. However, the CCP system has reached its limit, the economy is precarious, the policy is rigid, lacks the ability to update, and people’s grievances are boiling. The CCP is already sitting on the crater.
