Affected by the CCP’s previous brainwashing propaganda, many Chinese people worry that after the relaxation of epidemic prevention and control, infection with Omicron may endanger their health. In this regard, the team of Shanghai epidemic prevention expert Zhang Wenhong responded that "99.5% of positive patients do not need to go to the hospital", which sparked controversy.

On 8 December 2022, the "Huashan Infection" public account released the "Anti-Novel Coronavirus Strategies" reviewed by Professor Zhang Wenhong. The core is only one: Do I need to go to the hospital if I have covid?" The article pointed out that 99.5% of people who have covid may not need to go to the hospital, and can recover quickly at home.

Subsequently, the entry of #张文宏集团说99.5% of people don’t have to go to the hospital after being positive# appeared on Weibo’s hot searches, with 470 million views. As the Chinese Communist Party has been propagandizing that other countries that have co-existed with the virus have had a large number of deaths, some Chinese people are panicking about the covid virus. The conclusion of Zhang Wenhong's team caused controversy.

Some people trusted the experts and said with a sigh of relief: "I have a bottom line."

Some people were dubious: "I hope so, and I can recover at home."

Others questioned: "How did this 99.5% come to a conclusion? Experts can eat food indiscriminately but they can't talk indiscriminately."

In fact, Zhang Wenhong put forward the idea of "co-existing with the virus" in July 2021 but he was besieged by official media and cyber violence, and he remained silent for a long time after that.

Recently, the authorities released a signal to loosen the control of epidemic prevention. Zhang Wenhong also made another public statement, emphasizing that although the Omicron virus is easy to be infected, the fatality rate is already very low and will not pose a great threat to human health.

Weibo big V "Shenzhen Zhang Yixuan": "We have to admit that the overall thinking and rhythm of epidemic prevention and control will eventually enter the 'co-existence' that Zhang Wenhong said before. When he raised this point of view before, he was criticized by the whole network. ...In the future, everyone is the first person responsible for their own health. Everyone should be prepared psychologically and materially!"

NetEase also published an article on the 8th, titled "Mistakes in Criticism of Zhang Wenhong and the Coexistence Theory, Let Us Lose a Year". The article said that in the past year, especially since February and March, strategies have not been adjusted in a timely manner according to the mutation of the virus, resulting in more waste of resources, and the large-scale long-term blockade has had a greater impact on enterprises and ordinary people, and the gains outweigh the losses. .

Concerning the debate between the "laying flat faction" and the "closing faction" caused by China's relaxation of epidemic prevention and control, Jin Dongyan, a professor at the School of Biomedical Sciences of the University of Hong Kong's School of Medicine, told BBC Chinese, "The most important thing is that the thinking is relatively chaotic, and the second is that the ideas are not in line. Let everyone make it clear that what the top wants to do, the bottom doesn’t know. This is a big problem.”

Jin Dongyan believes that the latest "New Ten Measures" for epidemic prevention is undoubtedly a step forward in relaxing control but the CCP authorities have not stated whether they will abandon "dynamic clearing", which may cause some confusion.

Expert: China loosens epidemic prevention and control, death toll will increase significantly

Some other experts said that in the past three years, the CCP government has concentrated its resources on maintaining "clearing" and did not prepare for the medical needs after opening up. The sudden "laying down" may lead to the hospitalization and death of a large number of patients.

Huang Yanzhong, a senior researcher for global health at the Council on Foreign Relations, published an article in the New York Times on 4 December 2022, pointing out that if a quarter of Chinese people are infected within the first six months after the government relaxes its vigilance In the United States, the Omicron epidemic situation is consistent) China may eventually have 363 million people infected, about 620,000 people die, 32,000 people are admitted to the intensive care unit every day, and may trigger social and political crises.

The "Science" web-site reported that the model shows that China is still not prepared to co-exist with the virus, and loosening control may lead to large-scale epidemics, causing medical institutions to be overwhelmed and the death toll will also increase significantly.

The report pointed out that a study published in the journal "Nature Medicine" in May this year showed that if the epidemic prevention and control measures are loosened in March 2022, China will face a "tsunami of confirmed cases" within six months, and an estimated 112 million people will be infected. There could be 2.7 million critically ill patients and 1.6 million deaths. At the peak of the epidemic, the demand for ICU beds will reach 1 million, which is 15 times the current total in China.

Airfinity, an analysis company based in London, UK, released a report on 28 November, pointing out that China is still vulnerable to the epidemic. If it is abandoned at this time, 167 million to 279 million people will be diagnosed within 83 days, and the death toll would be between 1.3 million and 2.1 million.

The British "Financial Times" warned on 7 December that under the pressure of protests from all over the country, CCP officials have begun to lift blockades and large-scale testing in the past week but during Chinese New Year, mass crowd movement could become a super-spreading event, exacerbating the outbreak and overwhelming China's healthcare system.

According to the report, by the middle of March 2023, the daily death toll in China may be as high as 20,000; by late March, the demand for intensive care units will peak at 10 times the capacity, and the number of daily hospitalizations will exceed 70,000.

James Palmer, deputy editor of the US magazine Foreign Policy, tweeted, "I think at this point we can say that the 'dynamic clearing' policy is over. The next phase may be a pretty bad wave of covid cases ( Although not as bad as it might be in 2020) and an ill-prepared healthcare system.”

Take Xi Jinping as an advertisement? National Health Commission: The current leaders are all vaccinated domestically

拿习近平做广告?卫健委:现领导人都打国产疫苗

Officials from the National Health Commission of the Communist Party of China (CCP) recently claimed that China's domestic vaccines are very safe, and the current leaders of the CCP have all received domestic vaccines. Due to the low vaccination rate of the elderly in China, the National Health  Commission has repeatedly used Xi Jinping to advertise and promote vaccines, which has attracted attention.

On 7 December, the CCP officially announced 10 new measures for epidemic prevention, further relaxing the control of epidemic prevention, stipulating that infected people can be isolated at home, and promoting vaccination for the elderly at the same time.

At the press conference of the joint prevention and control mechanism of the State Council held that day, Zheng Zhongwei, director of the Science and Technology Development Center of the National Health Commission of the Communist Party of China and head of the special vaccine research and development working group, said that the novel coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) vaccine made in China is very safe, and the current leaders of the Communist Party of China have been vaccinated with domestic vaccines.

"Here, I can tell you again that the current leaders of the party and the country have been vaccinated against the novel coronavirus vaccine, and they are all vaccinated with the same domestic novel coronavirus vaccine as ordinary people." Zheng Zhongwei said that there are more than 30 countries. Leaders and government officials have all been vaccinated with Chinese-made vaccines.

This is not the first time that the National Health and Medical Commission has claimed that Chinese Communist Party leaders have been vaccinated with domestically produced vaccines. On July 23, Zeng Yixin, deputy director of the National Health Commission of the Communist Party of China, stated at a press conference on the domestically produced covid vaccine that the current leaders of the Communist Party of China have completed the vaccination against covid, and all of them have been vaccinated with domestically produced vaccines.

He also said that the leaders of more than 30 countries, including Turkey, Serbia, and Cambodia, have been vaccinated with Chinese vaccines.

However, the efficacy of domestic vaccines in mainland China is not favored by the international community. The Hong Kong government promoted China's Sinovac vaccine, and many elderly people died after being vaccinated but officials denied that the vaccine was the cause.

Although the National Health Commission claimed that the leaders of the Communist Party of China had been vaccinated with domestic vaccines, Xi Jinping and others did not publicly demonstrate vaccinations like leaders of other countries.

Current affairs commentator Jiang Feng once analyzed on a self-media channel that the leaders of the Communist Party of China have not vaccinated in public. One of the reasons is that it involves interests with vaccine companies.

In February 2022, a recording of a conversation by Harvard scholar Huang Wansheng at a private party was exposed. He said that no country in the world uses this method of immunization, and this kind of epidemic prevention is to convey benefits to the CCP interest groups.

Huang Wansheng said that the "white gloves" of the CCP's top leaders and their family members got involved in nucleic acid reagents, so that as long as there were one or two cases, the entire region was asked to conduct nucleic acid testing for the whole population-because what they wanted was a high purchase of nucleic acid reagents to reap huge benefits.

He also disclosed that, including China's vaccines, the mandatory injections of 3 and 4 injections are all related to the interest groups behind them.

Jiang Feng believes that from the perspective of the CCP’s officialdom operations, the leaders of the CCP should have received foreign vaccines before.

On 13 April 2021, Shanghai Fosun Pharmaceutical (Group) announced that the first batch of Pfizer vaccines produced in the United States had arrived in China, and clinical application was strictly controlled. Shanghai Fosun Medicine is the only agent of Pfizer vaccine in China. The company stated that it purchased at least 100 million Pfizer vaccines on 17 December 2020.

But the CCP authorities quickly deleted the news that the Pfizer vaccine had entered China. Many netizens believe that the official blockade of the news is because they do not want the common people to know, because these imported vaccines are specially provided for the CCP’s elite.

RFA reported on 10 March 2021 that the CCP media tirelessly reported how foreign heads of state took the lead in inoculating the CCP’s domestic vaccines, but neither President Xi Jinping nor Premier Li Keqiang has extended their arms yet.

At present, the number of new daily infections in China is close to the highest level in history but the CCP has not yet approved any foreign covid vaccines, opting instead to inoculate domestic vaccines.

U.S. Director of National Intelligence Avril Haines  said at the Reagan National Defense Forum in California on December 3 that no matter what impact the zero-covid policy has on society, the economy, and people’s lives, Xi Jinping is still unwilling to accept more effective vaccines from the West.

Experts said this means that the relaxation of epidemic prevention and control measures may bring huge risks.

消息:郭台铭致信警告北京 促习近平清零转向

According to people familiar with the matter, after Foxconn in Zhengzhou was in turmoil due to the epidemic, the founder of Hon Hai Group, Terry Gou, sent a letter to the Beijing authorities, warning that continuing to "zero out" would endanger China's global supply chain The core position of the Communist Party of China has prompted the top leaders of the Communist Party of China to begin to change the epidemic prevention policy.

Informed sources: Foxconn turmoil in Zhengzhou, Guo Taiming warns Beijing

The Wall Street Journal reported on 9 December 2022 that Terry Gou, the founder of the world's largest iPhone assembler, wrote to the Beijing authorities a month ago and played an important role in persuading the CCP leadership to speed up the abolition of the dynamic clearing policy, according to people familiar with the matter.

Guo Taiming's office denied the letter to Beijing through a statement.

People familiar with the matter said that when Terry Gou sent the letter to Beijing, the Zhengzhou Foxconn factory had an outbreak in late October, and the enhanced epidemic prevention measures implemented by the CCP made the result messy. Many employees were locked in dormitories or were taken by buses to isolation places far away from the factory area. Other employees refused to return to work on the production line due to fear of infection, causing a large number of employees to flee the factory.

On 2 November, the Zhengzhou government ordered the area where Foxconn's factory is located to enter a seven-day "global static management", prohibiting all non-essential personnel movement.

Afterwards, with the assistance of Zhengzhou authorities, Foxconn recruited a large number of new employees. However, in late November, tens of thousands of new employees broke out in large-scale protests due to dissatisfaction with the factory's epidemic prevention measures and wages.

The protest lasted for about 3 days. The authorities dispatched a large number of armed police and police to suppress it. Employees confronted the police with force, and many people were arrested. In the end, Foxconn publicly apologized, allowed new employees to leave and paid high compensation to quell the turmoil.

Zhengzhou Foxconn, which employs about 300,000 people, once accounted for 85 percent of Apple's iPhone assembly capacity, according to Counterpoint Research. The employee protest turmoil severely hit the factory's production capacity. Hong Kong-based TF International Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo estimated that the protests led to a 20% drop in Apple's total iPhone shipments in the fourth quarter, nearly 20 million units less than expected.

People familiar with the matter said that Gou’s letter and the subsequent “blank paper revolution” protests that broke out across China, some aides seized the opportunity to push the CCP government to step up and relax strict epidemic prevention and control.

Chinese health officials and advisers believe that Omicron is less lethal, but its high contagiousness will lead to more lockdowns but the public is tired of it, and it will cause more disruption to businesses, threatening China's status as the world's factory.

On 7 December, the CCP government announced 10 new measures for epidemic prevention, canceling many quarantine and virus testing requirements, and further relaxing epidemic prevention and control.

Apple's accelerated withdrawal from China may trigger a domino effect

In addition, the "Wall Street Journal" quoted people familiar with the matter as reporting that after the turmoil at the Foxconn factory in Zhengzhou, Apple has asked suppliers to speed up the establishment of production lines in India and Vietnam to reduce excessive dependence on Foxconn Zhengzhou. The production of major international manufacturers such as Samsung and Volkswagen in China is also affected by epidemic prevention restrictions.

Stephen Ezell, vice president of the Washington-based non-governmental organization "Information Technology and Innovation Foundation" (ITIF), told VOA that Apple taking the lead to leave China may trigger a domino effect in the future. The effect of sheep may drive a lot of global high-tech manufacturing to move out of China."

Ezer said that China's manufacturing environment is becoming less attractive, which is the trigger for the relocation of production lines. "Many companies, including Apple, are increasingly worried about the environment in China, not just the new crown epidemic. When we examine the theft of technological intellectual property rights, cyberattacks on companies in China, and the Chinese government's cumbersome data flow restrictions, it is very important for manufacturers. In other words, these are some factors that make China less and less attractive.”

According to JP Morgan analysis, by 2025, 25% of the iPhone 14 is expected to be manufactured in India. Other analysts predict that by 2030, the total proportion of iPhones made in India may be as high as 35% to 40%.

The inside story of Hu Xinyu's case was passed on by local people: A high-ranking official with a rare blood type urgently needs organs

当地人传胡鑫宇案内幕:血型罕见的大官急需器官

Hu Xinyu, a senior high school student in Shangrao, Jiangxi Province, has been missing for more than 50 days without any news from the school, sparking speculation in the society that his organs were harvested alive. Local people broke the news on the Internet: a high official with a rare blood type was seriously ill, and Hu Xinyu's blood type just matched.

In the recording circulated on the Internet, a parent of a student said that his child also goes to a local school. He also claimed that he was only two km away from Zhiyuan Middle School where Hu Xinyu was. He said that Zhiyuan Middle School employs famous teachers and the quality of education is very good, but this is "not an ordinary school". A girl disappeared mysteriously before, and she lost 1.5 million yuan in compensation.

The parent said that there is a lot of rumors in the entire county now, saying that it is a "man wearing a hat", some kind of "high official", suffering from some kind of disease, and needs an organ transplant, but the blood type of this "high official" is very rare, and Hu Xinyu's blood type "just matched".

There are also rumours on the Internet that many students of Zhiyuan Middle School have mysteriously disappeared in recent years, including a young female teacher. The online video also shows that after the Hu Xinyu case, a large number of local people blocked the school gate to protest, which may indicate that the theory that many people in the school disappeared is not groundless.

According to the tracing notice previously released by the family, at around 5.50 pm local time on 14 October, Hu Xinyu, a 15-year-old boy from Zhiyuan Middle School in Qianshan County, Shangrao, Jiangxi Province, disappeared from the surveillance screen after leaving the school dormitory. Hu Xinyu's family revealed that he was carrying a recording pen when he disappeared, and accused the school of deleting a large number of surveillance videos after the incident.

Recently, a video of a half-naked boy being carried on a stretcher and a recording of a boy yelling "I want to go home" have also surfaced on the Internet. It is said to be the recovered school surveillance video and the recording of Hu Xinyu's voice recorder but by examining these audio and video cannot distinguish between true and false.

There was also news on the Internet that a private car entered and left the school on the night of the incident, and then went to a private clinic, the river and a self-service car wash. However, some netizens suspected that the school was eager to drain the septic tank after the incident in order to destroy the corpse.

There is also a video circulating on the Internet, showing a man yelling "I will never let you go" to the video shooter. It is said that the principal of Zhiyuan Middle School is threatening the reporter who broke the news.

In recent years, a large number of young students have disappeared mysteriously, and most of them have never been heard from. Netizens questioned that it was related to live organ harvesting.

In response to these bizarre disappearances, the CCP’s ubiquitous surveillance system seems to have “failed” collectively, and mainland media rarely reported on the cases. Many netizens suspect that the disappearance is related to the government, and may involve matching organs for CCP officials.

However, according to the revelations of many insiders, and the investigation results of the World Organization to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong (WOIPFG) over more than ten years, there is a more terrifying inside story behind the organ harvesting cases in China.

WOIPFG found that many Chinese organ transplant hospitals advertised that it only takes a month or even a week to complete the matching and find a suitable donor for the patient. Some hospitals even set up so-called "emergency transplants". This is in stark contrast to the long-term waiting for donors for foreign organ transplants. There are also mainland media reports that in some organ transplant operations in China, one operation simultaneously prepares multiple successfully matched organs for backup.

WOIPFG pointed out that the only explanation for this anomalous phenomenon is the existence of a living organ donor bank led by the CCP government that spreads all over the country, which can "kill people on demand" at any time and share resources in different places. WOIPFG investigators called some mainland hospitals as the family members of the patients. Many doctors were eager to "sell", bluntly saying that the donors were "practicing Falun Gong" or "practicing Qigong" and "in very good health."

WOIPFG pointed out that a large amount of evidence shows that after the CCP began to persecute Falun Gong, it harvested organs from Falun Gong practitioners on a large scale. On the basis of killing countless lives, it built a huge "world's first" in just a few years its organ transplant industry.

In recent years, a large number of online news shows that the CCP’s organ transplant industry continues to expand, more vulnerable groups in mainland China have become victims, and the industrial chain has also extended to Southeast Asian countries such as Myanmar, Thailand and Cambodia.

A large number of doctors and nurses in many hospitals in China are infected with covid virus, and some covi-positive employees are forced to go to work

中国多地医院大量医护染疫 有医院强制阳性上班

The epidemic in CCP China continues to spread. Recently, doctors and nurses in many hospitals in mainland China have been infected with the epidemic, and it has also been reported that some hospitals have forced covi-positive employees to go to work.

According to a report on the WeChat public account "Deep Blue View" in mainland China, early in the morning on 5 December, there was a lot of noise at the entrance of a comprehensive tertiary hospital in Beijing. A somewhat anxious staff member revealed that in the past few days, there have been covi-positive infections among doctors, nurses and patients in the hospital, mainly in the pediatrics, orthopedics and emergency departments.

In addition to Beijing, in Shijiazhuang, Baoding, Guangzhou and other parts of the country, many hospitals have also encountered a situation similar to that of the above-mentioned tertiary hospital: There are many covi-positive infections among doctors, nurses, nurses and patients including in outpatient, emergency, inpatient and other areas.

A person familiar with the situation in Shijiazhuang Hospital revealed that a local hospital was temporarily closed due to the infection of many doctors and nurses, and a large number of patients were transported away. Afterwards, many doctors and nurses were sealed in the hospital for nearly 10 days, and it has just reopened.

A person familiar with the Guangzhou hospital said that some local hospital fever clinics have found that many patients are covi-positive.

However, a person who has cooperated with several hospitals in Guangzhou mentioned that the recent diagnosis and treatment of several local hospitals they have contacted are still going on normally, and there has not been any closure of all of them.

In Beijing, medical staff from several hospitals said that after some colleagues tested positive for nucleic acid, they stayed in their own isolation wards until they turned negative. "After a positive result, the department will be sealed and controlled, and the emergency department will also be stopped." The aforementioned staff member of a tertiary hospital in Beijing said.

According to "China News Weekly", recently, the Fendong District of Taiyuan Central Hospital was closed due to a covi-positive diagnosis of medical staff.

Caijing.com reported that a doctor recently broke the news that his hospital supports employees who are positive for nucleic acid to continue to work after reporting. In addition, some medical staff broke the news that some hospitals forced covi-positive employees to go to work.

In the afternoon of 7 December, the operator of the fever clinic at the Affiliated Hospital of Hebei University told China Philanthropist that patients who need medical treatment can register online or on site, and there are not many people queuing up on site.

A staff member of the Lianchi District People's Hospital in Baoding City said, "We are full of patients here, and there is no need to come to the hospital for mild cases. If you have a fever, the fever clinic at the hospital will also prescribe medicine. It is recommended to do an antigen test yourself. Two bars are basically covi-positive."

After the "White Paper Movement" broke out in China, many places announced the relaxation of some epidemic prevention measures. The Chinese Communist Party launched the so-called "New 10 Measures" on 7 December.

The "Deep Blue View" report stated that the hospital is the most tested at present and will face a "big test".

However, mainland netizens said, "What's the big exam? Don't scare people anymore?" Can it be prevented? The city is closed today, and it will come again in a month. Since the virus is very weak, let it go early."

"If it's covi-positive, self-quarantine and turn negative, at least the hospital is open normally, patients can be treated without nucleic acid certificates, and various secondary disasters and homicides caused by the lockdown will not happen." "This is an inevitable result, for interest groups it’s a pity that I can’t bring the rhythm with the final struggle at this time.”

Others said, "Letting loose is an inevitable trend. Now that the fatality rate of the virus is extremely low, this situation is inevitable. Don't swear at people like 'two ghosts' and 'traitors' every now and then. The whole world is basically letting go, and I haven't seen it." How are they?"

"There is no other way but to be brave. If you can't seal it, if you want to seal it, you can only destroy the Great Wall. If you have such worries, it's better to be yourself and learn more about self-isolation. The whole world can live through it. Just us some cowards yell 'I'm afraid of death' every day. With all this free time, it's better to learn more and do more practical work to solve specific problems."

On 7 December 2022, Qin Peng, a senior economic and political commentator, expressed on Twitter that the introduction of the latest ten articles completely negates Xi's clean-up. This is a total collapse due to external forces (international opposition, unblocking of people across the country, blank paper revolution, local finances are almost collapsed, and internal divisions). Left behind a large unfinished business: did not complete drug development, did not complete effective vaccines, did not establish a primary medical system, did not build enough ICU beds, but exhausted medical insurance, wasted trillions of funds, and reduced GDP by 3 trillion. The CCP suddenly "loosened" the medical system, and medical runs broke out in many places

中共突然“松绑” 多地爆发医疗挤兑

The CCP has strictly "cleared" for three years, and suddenly "let go" in many places without preparation, causing chaos. According to news on the Internet, many hospitals were full overnight, making it difficult for people to seek medical treatment.

On December 8, a video of a hospital in Wuhan was posted online, showing the hospital crowded with patients with fever.

On 7 December, photos of the Second Hospital of Hebei Province (the Second Hospital of Hebei Medical University) in Shijiazhuang City were also circulated on the Internet, showing that the hospital was overcrowded and there were people sitting on the ground. Others were lying on the ground, covered with blue cloth, suspected to be dead, and the doctors and nurses were rescuing another patient lying on the ground.

The scene of the Second Hospital of Hebei Province was circulated on the Internet. (Web image)

It is rumoured on the Internet that most of the patients who seek medical treatment are patients with fever, so it is questioned whether there are large-scale infections after the authorities suddenly "let go". Some local doctors and nurses broke the news, "Now every hospital is overcrowded. More than half of the doctors and nurses in the third hospital are covi-positive. There are also six covi-positives in our department. There are also several family members who are infected and they can't go to work. In our ward, there are only 17 people in total, and almost half of them can’t go to work.”

However, some people also refuted the rumour that the reason for the outbreak of the medical run was that during the lockdown period, even serious patients could not go out to see a doctor, and the hospital did not receive treatment. It is serious, so it is difficult to seek medical treatment. Many patients have been transferred to multiple hospitals but they are unable to seek medical treatment.

A large amount of information circulated on the Internet shows that the hospitals in Beijing are also overcrowded, and it is very difficult for people to seek medical treatment. Some citizens were unable to seek medical treatment and asked for help from the epidemic prevention personnel. The epidemic prevention personnel replied that their child had a fever and ran to many hospitals overnight but could not get in. There were too many people queuing up.

When CCP officials announced the so-called "New Ten Measures" for epidemic prevention on the 7th, they declared that all localities should pay close attention to the mutation of the virus, report severe illness, death and occupation of medical resources after infection, and strictly prevent medical resources from running out. Authorities have also called for the advancement of vaccinations for the elderly, among other things.

After the release of the "New Ten Articles", governments in many places have adopted varying degrees of "relaxation" measures but there are also many areas that continue to be closed.

Many overseas experts pointed out that the CCP is not ready to "co-exist with the virus". If it is suddenly "opened up", a large-scale infection may break out in winter, and the death toll will increase sharply.

China's domestic vaccines have been accused of being ineffective and unable to effectively prevent infection. At the same time, the CCP has been busy with extreme "dynamic clearing" for three consecutive years, and has not prepared for "co-existence with the virus". The authorities even made an emergency 180-degree turn in their propaganda, and only recently began to exaggerate "the virus is not scary", etc., and a considerable proportion of the public is still in a state of extreme fear of the virus.

U.S. hospital bed occupancy rate is high but there are few covid patients

Reporter : Ren Hao / Editor: Yun Tao / https://www.ntdtv.com/gb/2022/12/08/a103593829.html

More than 80% of hospital beds in the United States are treating patients, which is an increase of 8% from the data two weeks ago, and has reached the highest number of hospital beds in the United States since the outbreak of COVID-19.

Correspondingly, about 10% of hospitals have notified the urgent shortage of medical personnel and requested support.

Contrary to people's expectations, covid patients currently account for a small proportion of all hospitalized patients, accounting for only 6% of them. Others required hospitalization for a variety of conditions.

On 8 December, CNN reported that there is currently a high incidence of respiratory diseases, and many people have been hospitalized for influenza and common colds. Especially after Thanksgiving, many patients have been hospitalized for influenza. The report did not give the current number of patients with respiratory disease, or the proportion of respiratory patients to hospitalized patients.

Hospital beds in Rhode Island are currently more than 90% occupied. Eight other states, including Washington, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Georgia, Missouri, West Virginia and Oregon, have hospital bed occupancy rates above 85%.

Consistent with some overcrowding in general hospitals, children's hospitals across the United States have also recently admitted a large number of children. At present, the bed occupancy rate of children's hospitals in the United States exceeds 76%, which is much higher than the average occupancy rate of about 66% in children's hospitals in recent years.

The high number of patients being admitted to hospitals has drawn the attention of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

The Minister of the Department, Xavier Becerra, sent a letter to the governors of the states in the United States last week, reminding the states that there is a high incidence of respiratory diseases, and the federal government will provide various resources, materials and personnel support if needed.
