Recently, Xue Jian, the Chinese Consul General in Osaka, issued a "beheading" threat to Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi, causing a huge uproar in Japanese society. US Ambassador to Japan, Glass, criticized him for "revealing his true nature." It has been discovered that this is not the first time Xue Jian has made such a terrifying threat; he previously used "beheading" rhetoric to threaten US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth.
Taiwanese lawmaker Wang Ting-yu revealed on the X platform on 10 November 2025 that Xue Jian used the term "decapitation" to describe the U.S. Secretary of Defense in a post dated 25 October 2025. Wang Ting-yu stated, "A Chinese diplomat threatening to decapitate an American official—this behavior should be widely exposed!"
The footage shows US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth reiterating his consistent view on the Taiwan issue: "To have peace, we must be prepared for war." Xue Jian reposted the footage, directly stating in his post, "The Taiwan issue has nothing to do with any country, including the United States," and "Preparing for war over the Taiwan issue is meaningless; anyone who tries to intervene will be decapitated," among other terrifying statements.
Wang Ting-yu attached an English translation of Xue Jian's post.

In fact, preparing for war for peace is a consistent position of both Taiwan and the United States. Earlier, Hegseth, in a speech to senior US military officers, mentioned the motto "To have peace, we must be prepared for war," and stated that this was not a new concept. The Lai Ching-te administration has repeatedly emphasized the phrase, "Preparedness is the key to avoiding war," clearly stating that Taiwan is not seeking conflict but exercising its right to self-defense.
Xue Jian is known as the "Wolf Warrior Ambassador." Last Friday, Sanae Takaichi stated in the Diet that if war breaks out in the Taiwan Strait and the conflict spreads to Japan's surrounding areas, it would be a "threat to Japan's survival," and Tokyo might take military action.
Xue Jian, the Chinese Consul General in Osaka, was enraged and threatened on the X platform: "That dirty neck that's sticking into places shouldn't have has to be cut off." Although the post was quickly deleted, it has already caused a strong backlash in Japanese politics.
Japanese Chief Cabinet Secretary Minoru Kihara severely criticized the statement, saying it was "extremely inappropriate." He said Tokyo has formally protested to China, pointing out that Xue Jian has "repeatedly made inappropriate remarks," and demanding that Beijing take measures.
U.S. Ambassador to Japan George Glass wrote on X, "The true colors have been revealed again." He criticized Xue Jian's remarks as threatening Sanae Takaichi and the Japanese people.
However, in response to the criticism, the Chinese Foreign Ministry defended Xue Jian, claiming he was merely responding to "erroneous remarks by Japanese officials," and even clamored for Japan to "reflect on its historical responsibility."
Commentator Han Lianchao stated that Xue Jian's "decapitation" threat was not a spur-of-the-moment act, but a political performance to carry out instructions from above. "Chinese diplomacy has always emphasized that 'there are no small matters in diplomacy,' and officials dare not act freely without orders. Therefore, it is very likely that Xi Jinping has escalated from demanding that officials dare to 'draw their swords' to 'decapitation.' This barbaric act is despised by the world."
Independent commentator Cai Shenkun wrote that Xue Jian's remarks were not simply wolf-warrior diplomatic rhetoric, but a naked act of terror. "The Japanese government has every reason to expel such a crazy diplomat."
Why did the Chinese Consul in Japan make beheading remarks?

On 7 November 2025, newly appointed Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Kaohsiung stated during a parliamentary debate, "If something happens to Taiwan, it could constitute a 'crisis of national survival' for Japan, and according to the Constitution, the use of force to defend the country is permissible."
Late on the 8th, Xue Jian, the Chinese Consul General in Osaka, responded to Kaohsiung's statement in a post on the X platform in Japanese, blatantly declaring, "That filthy head should be cut off without hesitation."
The fact that a Chinese diplomat would threaten to behead the Japanese Prime Minister has infuriated Japanese netizens. They commented, "Are Chinese diplomats barbarians who don't even understand basic common sense?"
So why did Xue Jian react so hysterically and desperately to Kaohsiung's statement on the Taiwan issue?
This is because Kaohsiung's words, expressing the new Japanese government's concern about a potential Chinese military invasion of Taiwan and a change in the Taiwan Strait situation, as well as their determination for joint defense, directly struck a nerve with the Chinese Communist Party.
Xue Jian's outburst was not a momentary impulse or mistake, but rather a reflection of the Chinese Communist Party's true mindset and thoughts. In other words, the CCP is using Xue Jian's words to say what it wants to say but cannot say publicly, thereby threatening the Japanese government.
Although the CCP repeatedly claims that "the Taiwan issue is China's internal affair," peace in the Taiwan Strait is no longer an "internal affair" that Beijing can unilaterally define; it is a public issue concerning global trade, regional security, and democracy and freedom. What the CCP fears most is not actually Taiwanese independence, but the internationalization of the Taiwan issue, and even more so, Japan binding its own security interests with Taiwan's. Sanae Takaichi has done just that. In doing so, the CCP is likely to lose control of the narrative regarding the Taiwan Strait, and its long-cherished dream of "national reunification" may very well become a pipe dream. How could it not become hysterical and desperate?!
Furthermore, the CCP has long used "historical guilt" to suppress Japan, silencing it on Indo-Pacific security issues. Sanae Takaichi's statement is tantamount to declaring that Japan is no longer merely a security appendage of the United States, but must assume responsibility for Indo-Pacific peace as a sovereign nation. This significant shift in Japan's diplomatic strategy undoubtedly constitutes a major deterrent to the CCP's expansion in the Indo-Pacific region. How could it not become hysterical and desperate?!
With Sanae Takaichi's administration taking office, the Japanese government's attitude towards the CCP is hardening. On the Taiwan Strait issue, the CCP attempted to intimidate the new Japanese government with Xue Jian's decapitation remarks, but this will not only fail but also expose its evil nature.
The daughter of Xue Jian, who was accused of "beheading Takaichi," has been exposed

On 7 October 2025, Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi, while attending the House of Representatives Budget Committee, declared that a crisis in Taiwan could trigger an existential crisis for Japan. Xue Jian, the Chinese Consul General in Osaka, retweeted a related report on Twitter and publicly issued a death threat to "behead Takaichi," sparking heated debate in Japan.
As the incident continues to escalate, Xue Jian's relatives appear to have been identified by Japanese netizens. Those who have long observed the political and economic situation between China and Japan question whether Xue Jian is attempting to extend his consular term through these remarks.
The Twitter user "Partisan Review" posted a tweet stating that on 8 October, local time, Xue Jian retweeted a report from the Japanese newspaper Asahi Shimbun about Takaichi's remarks, adding a death threat, claiming he would "have no choice but to cut off that dirty head that unhesitatingly lunged at me," publicly threatening to behead Takaichi. Although Xue Jian deleted the tweet shortly after posting it, the incident still sparked heated discussion among Japanese netizens.
The "Partisan Review" argues that death threats against anyone are outside the scope of freedom of speech protection and calls on the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs to immediately rectify its practices, recall Xue Jian, an unsuitable diplomat, to avoid deepening Japanese public resentment towards the Chinese government.
However, before the Chinese government can make any further statements, many radical Japanese netizens have already taken action. Twitter user "Jonathan" tweeted that some Japanese netizens have already identified a Chinese person suspected to be a relative of Xue Jian, claiming that "Xue Jing," the vice president of a new energy company in Tokyo's Minato Ward, is likely Xue Jian's daughter.
Regarding Xue Jian's remarks about "beheading Takashi," Twitter user "China-Japan Political and Economic Review" analyzes that Xue Jian did not act "on impulse," but rather after "deliberation" before making such low-level "wolf warrior" remarks, speculating that Xue Jian hoped to attract the attention of Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, the "leader of the wolf warrior" group, through radical rhetoric.
Chinese Consul General in Osaka, Xue Jian, issued a death threat in response to Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi's remarks about "Taiwan in trouble," declaring he would "not hesitate" to chop off Takaichi's head, sparking outrage among Japanese netizens.
"China-Japan Political and Economic Review" pointed out that Xue Jian is 57 years old and nearing retirement age. It speculated that Xue Jian hopes to emulate the "wolf warrior" rhetoric of Chinese Ambassador to France, Lu Shaye, in order to secure "extra-term retention" (not being forced to retire at the designated age). "Now, more and more young 'wolf cubs' are imitating similar rhetoric."
