Myanmar Junta snubs UN envoy's call for proposed dialogue

The United Nations Secretary-General’s special envoy for Myanmar says the junta has not responded to her request for talks as it tries to consolidate its rule.
Christine Schraner Burgener told the media on Tuesday that on July 16 she had “a long conversation” with the deputy junta chief, Vice-Senior General Soe Win, about Myanmar’s crisis.
The special envoy highlighted concerns over the persecution of civilians, freedom of speech and the media and called for the release of all political detainees.
“Some of the ideas I gave him to decide the dialogue idea were heard, like to make a statement that lawsuits against health workers will be withdrawn. On the dialogue, I didn’t receive an answer: not a positive, or not a negative,” she said.
Burgener said the details of the conversation would remain confidential to keep the channel open.
The Swiss diplomat said coup leader Senior General Min Aung Hlaing “appears determined to solidify his grip on power with the latest caretaker government announcement; also with the formal annulment of the election results from last year and declaration of the commander-in-chief to be prime minister of the country”.

UN envoy: It is up to the member states to recognize NUG in UN or the military regime
She expressed fear that the National League for Democracy “could be disbanded. This is an attempt to promote legitimacy against lack of international action taken,” she said. “The UN does not recognize governments, so it’s up to the member states.”
Both Myanmar’s junta and the civilian National Unity Government (NUG) have been trying to achieve international legitimacy. Twenty-two of Myanmar’s diplomats, including ambassador to the UN U Kyaw Moe Tun, have publicly denounced the regime and taken part in the civil disobedience movement.
U Kyaw Moe Tun has been threatened and the US Department of Justice on 6 August reportedly uncovered a plot against him.
She said as long as UN member states do not decide otherwise, U Kyaw Moe Tun will remain Myanmar’s UN ambassador and detained State Counselor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi and President U Win Myint will be seen as its leaders.
Myanmar’s people continue to reject military rule and demand the establishment of democracy.

UN envoy holding remote talks with all parties in Myanmar
Burgener has been holding talks with the military, ethnic armed organizations and other groups, including the NUG.
For two months she has been promoting the idea of talks around four “clusters”, covering the COVID-19 response, humanitarian assistance, issues related to the Rohingya community and the causes of the crisis. This would include discussions around the federal system, the constitution, establishing a federal army and legal and electoral reforms.
“With my discussion with all stakeholders, I realize that no side will give up arms or be ready to make any compromises,” said Burgener. “The NUG was interested in the idea but clearly would have pre-conditions to start such a dialogue.”
She has also proposed establishing an international observer group on Myanmar, including representatives from China, India, Japan, Thailand, the US, UK, Norway, Switzerland, the European Union, regional bloc ASEAN and UN.
She hoped the recent appointment of an ASEAN special envoy on Myanmar would help talks to take place, otherwise “it goes more and more in the direction of a civil war”. The regime has not allowed her to visit the country since the February coup.

The Junta does not want to see UN envoy in Myanmar
Burgener said, “I think still the visit of myself is considered from the army as not ready. In my view, it is not because they don’t want to talk anymore with me, because we are still in contact. I just had an exchange last Sunday. But I assume that it is because people on the ground would be very encouraged with my presence in the country and that’s probably something the army does not want to see.”

Biden-Harris administration sued for horrifying child abuse

Two left-wing advocacy groups that favor mass illegal immigration are suing the Biden administration, accusing it of enabling horrifying child abuse at overcrowded migrant holding centers.

In a 276-page federal filing Monday, the National Center for Youth Law and the Center for Human Rights and Constitutional Law urged Attorney General Merrick Garland to compel the Department of Health and Human Services to stop abusing and mistreating children at migrant detention centers.

Two facilities in Texas — Fort Bliss and Pecos — were specifically named in the lawsuit.

The attorneys said children are being held in “dilapidated,” unsanitary facilities where they’re fed rotten or undercooked food, subjected to sexual advances and exposed to widespread coronavirus infestations.

“[O]ur legal team has witnessed disturbing conditions that put the health and welfare of these children in harm’s way, including food-related abdominal pain from undercooked and spoiled food, and children being kept in cage-like rooms for most of the day,” the filing alleged.

A 17-year-old Guatemalan girl said: “They did not cook the food well because they were cooking for so many thousands of kids at the emergency shelter … The chicken was raw, everything was raw. I ate it because I had no choice. I got sick from it.”

Biden-Harris administration covering-up covid outbreak at Fort Bliss facility

The lawsuit also referenced an explosive complaint filed last month by two federal whistleblowers who accused the Biden administration of ordering workers to cover up a COVID-19 outbreak among “hundreds of children” at the Fort Bliss facility.

“COVID was widespread among children and eventually spread to many employees,” the complaint alleges. “Hundreds of children contracted COVID in the overcrowded conditions. Adequate masks were not consistently provided to children, nor was their use consistently enforced.”

The whistleblowers said that instead of fixing the problem that exacerbated the infestation, “every effort was made to downplay the degree of COVID infection at the site, and the size of the outbreak was deliberately kept under wraps.”

In his sworn declaration, whistleblower Arthur Pearlstein, an attorney with the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service, said the Biden administration is covering up the egregious abuse of “thousands of children.”

“Gross mismanagement, waste, and abuse of authority by those at the top who insisted on utmost secrecy led to mistreatment of thousands of children at Fort Bliss,” Pearlstein wrote.

“I was actively discouraged by management at Fort Bliss from reporting my concerns,” he underscored.

Unhygienic conditions continue, Biden-Harris administration does not care

The attorneys for the migrant children said the coronavirus outbreak metastasized because of the disgusting, unhygienic conditions at the overcrowded centers.

“Filth was commonplace,” the complaint alleges. “According to one contractor: ‘I’ve been into one [tent], one time, and I was like, yeah, I’m not going back there.

“‘They’re filthy. They’re dirty. There’s food on the floor. There’s wet spots all over the place. The beds are dirty.'”

News (8)

Sexual abuse rampant at Fort Bliss facility

In another chilling revelation, the attorneys said some workers at the Fort Bliss center sexually preyed on children.

“Audio provided by whistleblowers appears to confirm that adult staff at Ft. Bliss had been caught in sexually inappropriate situations with minors in their care at least as recently as May 2021,” the lawsuit alleges.

For the record, the reason these left-wing activists filed their complaint isn’t that they oppose mass illegal immigration or are criticizing President Joe Biden for causing the border crisis.

Rather, they’re arguing that the illegal aliens being held in detention centers — especially the children — should be released.

The activists said they want the Biden administration “to place children in licensed facilities ‘as expeditiously as possible,’ to release children without unnecessary delay, and to, at all times, place children in facilities that are safe and sanitary, appropriate for their age and special needs, and concerned with their particular vulnerability.”

Despite their motives, they did shine a spotlight on the wide-ranging collateral damage being stoked by the Biden border disaster.

The National Center for Youth Law said it compiled its complaint after interviewing 180 migrant children during the past five months.

U.S. Democrats silent about child abuse

Its harrowing firsthand accounts confirm what many conservatives have said all along: Biden’s refusal to secure the border has inflamed an unprecedented disaster that not only hurts Americans who live in border cities but also endangers the illegal aliens themselves.

Predictably, Democrats and their corporate media partners have been largely silent about these appalling accounts of systemic child abuse.

These are the same groups who screeched incessantly about then-President Donald Trump “putting children in cages” built during the Obama administration.

Meanwhile, Biden is doing everything Trump was accused of — and more — while Democrats and their media puppets blithely turn a blind eye.

Lost Biden wanders onto grass even after Secret Service handler points where to walk

Reporter : Grant Atkinson, The Western Journal

President Joe Biden’s mental capabilities have been called into question countless times during his relatively short time in office.

Whether it has been forgetting how many people live in the United States, falling up the stairs or any number of other stumbles or gaffes, he has continued to cast doubt onto his own physical and mental health.

On Tuesday, a video clip of the 78-year-old president’s return to the White House once again caused many Americans to wonder whether his mental capacities are below the appropriate level for the leader of the free world.

The Hill posted a video on Twitter of Biden walking up to the Oval Office after a long weekend in his hometown of Wilmington, Delaware. He can be seen walking down the sidewalk leading up to the door.

A few seconds into the video, a Secret Service agent walking in front of Biden pointed toward a right turn into the sidewalk, seemingly showing Biden where to walk.

Instead of following the apparent direction, Biden continued to walk straight and wandered onto the grass.

He eventually found his way to the door after taking an unnecessarily circuitous path.

Former White House Deputy Chief of Staff Dan Scavino shared the video, saying that Biden “went the wrong way” and appeared to be “totally lost.”

Many Twitter users also replied to The Hill’s tweet to voice concern about Biden’s actions.

Then there was the incident just last week when Biden confidently proclaimed 350 million Americans had been vaccinated, despite the fact that fewer than 350 million people live in the country.

Without audio or the ability to look into Biden’s brain, it is admittedly difficult to know why he decided to walk onto the grass instead of following the sidewalk. But given his track record, it is not unreasonable to add the incident to his long list of gaffes.

Many Americans are rightfully concerned about the mental capacities of the man tapped to lead the country.

"Zhang Wenhong" counterattack party officials? Questions published by the mainland portal
A few days ago, Gao Qiang, the general counsel of the Chinese Communist Party Health Economics Association and the former Minister of Health, issued a document on the official media, not naming and criticizing Zhang Wenhong, director of the Department of Infectious Diseases of Huashan Hospital affiliated to Fudan University, saying that his "coexistence with the virus" theory "is absolutely unfeasible" ". Many mainland media and experts subsequently followed suit and criticized the situation, and the matter was agitated.
In the face of these criticisms, a suspected Zhang Wenhong response appeared online on the mainland.
On 8 and 10 August, "Sohu News" and "Sina Finance" published articles signed by Zhang Wenhong. The article gives ten suggestions on the situation of the epidemic. The first few items are related to epidemic prevention, such as don't relax your vigilance; try not to go out if you have nothing to do; wash your hands frequently and wear masks when you go out.
There are two behind, the meaning of counterattack is obvious. One said, "Although I don't want to tell the truth, I have to say that the next situation will be more complicated"; the other is "Stay away from the new media that incite hatred and clamor for struggle, and read a few classic books seriously." .
Some netizens left a message saying that they are currently in the "literary struggle stage, fortunately (Zhang Wenhong) can still speak..."
We checked and found that, in fact, this article was circulated on the Internet as early as April last year. At that time, Lu Media came out to refute the rumors that it was clearly their originality, so why did it put Zhang Wenhong's name on it?
At this sensitive time, this article appeared again, also in the name of Zhang Wenhong. Is this an accident? Or is someone playing behind?
Current affairs commentator Tang Jingyuan believes that Gao Qiang's strict defense and Zhang Wenhong's coexistence with the virus represent the Chinese Communist Party's epidemic prevention and European and American epidemic prevention respectively. Therefore, in the eyes of the CCP, the difference between the two is not a simple issue of epidemic prevention methods, but a serious political issue.
The CCP will never admit that the strict defense model is inferior to the European and American models. Even if the strict defense has caused a huge social cost and even killed more people, it is not important; the important thing is that the CCP must make this model a superior socialist system. A symbol of sex, and then use this to compete internationally.
However, Tang Jingyuan pointed out that many people in the mainland medical community support Zhang Wenhong; at the same time, the counterattack under the banner of Zhang Wenhong is very complicated. It may be someone who is still willing to respect the scientific laws of the virus itself, or it may be in the party. Different factions in China want to use this to combat Xi Jinping’s "epidemic prevention model project."

CCP's new policy on epidemic prevention provokes serious accidents with frequent explosions of domestic vaccines
Different factions are fighting openly and secretly for epidemic prevention routes or deeper political purposes. At the same time, the epidemic situation in the mainland is still severe.
According to the data on the website of the National Health Commission of the Communist Party of China on the 11th, between 0-24 o'clock on 10 August, there were 83 new local cases in the mainland and 7 local asymptomatic infections.
Since the CCP has always concealed the real epidemic situation, the outside world believes that their data is unreliable. However, from the official epidemic prevention measures, it can be inferred whether the epidemic is serious or not.
On the 10th, the State Council’s Joint Prevention and Control Mechanism announced a new policy. The agency issued a notice stating that when a local cluster of epidemics occurs, the designated hospitals must be vacated as a whole within 48 hours, and all of them will be used for centralized treatment and isolation of confirmed cases and asymptomatic infections. The stock of epidemic prevention and control materials in designated hospitals must meet the needs of the hospital to operate at full capacity for 30 days.
Some Weibo netizens left messages saying, "I feel that the general situation is not good" and "It seems that the situation is not optimistic."
Others criticized this policy as unreasonable. They said, "How to move? Where to move?" "Which one of the designated hospitals has at least 500 beds? Move out within 48 hours? Other hospitals are usually crowded. Are you sure they can accept these patients?" "There are not only ordinary patients. There are also critically ill patients. Who is responsible for the problems that occur during the transfer? Does the transfer require the consent of the family members? Or does the public have no right to object? Please protect the rights of everyone, otherwise it will be very inhuman and disrespect for human rights!"
For these questions, it may be difficult to wait for an official answer.
On the other hand, in the past month, Radio Free Asia has received a lot of information, showing that serious accidents after vaccination with the domestically-made new crown vaccine have occurred in many parts of the mainland.
Among them, an elderly woman surnamed Lin in Guangde Town, Dapu County, Meizhou, Guangdong, fainted after being vaccinated last month. She is still rescued in Guangzhou, but she has become a vegetative person, her eyes can be opened and her whole body will not move; a 59-year-old A man surnamed Liu from Henan Province died after being vaccinated forcibly in Zhangjiagang, Jiangsu Province. His daughter asked for help online and was soon "stability maintained" by the authorities.
In addition, a migrant worker from Nanning, Guangxi, after being vaccinated on 15 July, became ill on the same day and was sent to Nanning Second Hospital for treatment. On 7 August, he died. His family had nowhere to ask for help, so they had to raise a sign in front of the hospital to call for grievance.
A staff member of the Chinese Communist Party's Center for Disease Control and Prevention confirmed to Radio Free Asia that there are indeed many cases involving adverse reactions of domestic vaccines. There are many people vaccinated in the morning and admitted to the ICU (intensive care unit) in the afternoon. However, these things cannot be on the domestic news.
The staff member also said that everyone is waiting to get a Pfizer vaccine, but now there is no vaccine in all of China. Even if it is imported, it will be given to the leaders in Beijing first.

National karaoke repertoire wants to pull "violation list" netizens scolded
Since the outbreak of the epidemic, many people have lost their lives, and the lives of those who are alive have been completely changed. Some netizens sighed and said, "I have almost forgotten what the world is like before 2020." In addition to the impact of the epidemic, some people angrily discovered that other aspects of their lives have to be changed.
Recently, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Communist Party of China announced on its official website that they will set up a content review team to pull out a "national karaoke music list of illegal tracks."
What counts as a "violation" song? Relevant documents stated that in the lyrics, there are so-called harm to the CCP’s national unity, harm to its interests, violation of its religious policies, promotion of gambling and drugs, etc., which are all violations. In addition, the official also encourages singing and dancing entertainment venues to set up a special song area to "promote the main theme and spread positive energy."
This news attracted almost one-sided reprimands from Chinese netizens.
Someone asked, "Are we North Korea?" "Are these departments okay to look for things to do? They are getting more and more closed. They used to be okay, but now there are problems?" "In the future, we can only sing red songs in KTV?" "What books do we read?" Regardless of what song you sing, what are you afraid of?"
Others quoted the classic lines in the movie "Farewell My Concubine" and said, "Are you a villain making trouble today? No, no! They all walked to this field step by step!"

Education is unified first! Mainland Chinese primary and middle school students are shackled by thought
In addition to controlling songs, the minds of primary and middle school students in mainland China will also be more strictly controlled.
September is the beginning of the school season. In the new semester, students find that there is an extra course on the curriculum, called "Xi Jinping's New Era of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics Student Reader", and other textbooks have also been revised.
According to a report by the Voice of America, in the new history textbooks, the Ministry of Education has increased the proportion of frontier content and reduced the proportion of the Westernization Movement. Pictures of Xi Jinping appeared in the textbooks many times.
In the new edition of Chinese textbooks, religious beliefs have been removed, and some vocabulary has also been tampered with. For example, "God" is replaced by "Old Man", and "Virgin and Child" is written as "Mother and Son." At the same time, revolutionary educational content occupies a large proportion, and the content of ancient poems has also increased.
Some people do not understand the increase in ancient Chinese education. Is it to promote traditional culture? This is inconsistent with the traditional style of the CCP. Yang Jianli, the founder of the American public welfare organization "Citizen Force", believes that "from a certain angle, the Communist Party has consciously or unconsciously dressed itself as the heir to Chinese orthodoxy, and has since obtained its source of legitimacy. This is the political background. In this politics  under the background, it must strengthen the education of Chinese traditional culture."
In addition, the Ministry of Education of the Communist Party of China announced in 2019 that primary and secondary schools across the country will uniformly use the "Ministry Compilation", which is the textbook published by the Ministry of Education, to replace the previous People's Education Edition, Jiangsu Education Edition, and Cantonese Education Edition. Version and other different versions of teaching materials. The requirement to unify textbooks will soon be implemented in the fall of the 2022 academic year. By that time, all textbooks before university higher education in mainland China will be unified.
Other observers have discovered that the CCP has continuously strengthened the unification of the people's thinking while vigorously removing the influence of Western thoughts on the Chinese.
On 10 August, the Beijing Municipal Education Commission issued the "Administrative Measures for Teaching Materials for Primary and Secondary Schools in Beijing", which clearly requires compulsory education schools not to use "overseas teaching materials." In response, some netizens replied, “Should we let the students go to the mountains and the countryside?” Some people even said that the actual purpose of the CCP’s education is to close brainwashing.
The Epoch Times editorial series "Disintegrating Party Culture" pointed out that the CCP’s utterances and information blocking and filtering will cause serious incomplete information, hinder people from making correct judgments, and make it impossible to think independently and rationally.
The Epoch Times writer Gu Jing pointed out that the CCP has three full-time brainwashing institutions, one is the Central Propaganda Department, one is the Ministry of Education, and the other is the Ministry of Culture. The Ministry of Education is mainly responsible for routine brainwashing and instilling systematic party culture among the people.

CCP severely sentenced Canadian businessmen for 11 years, international community condemned
On 11 August, the Intermediate Court of Dandongy, Liaoning Province, the Chinese Communist Party severely sentenced Canadian businessman Michael Spavor for 11 years for the crime of “spying and illegally providing state secrets abroad”. Spaffer will be deported after serving his sentence in China.
This is the second consecutive day that the Chinese authorities have publicly tried Canadian citizens. On the first day, the Liaoning Provincial High Court rejected the appeal of the Canadian man Robert Lloyd Schellenberg and upheld the death penalty on charges of drug smuggling. But Schellenberg said he was an innocent tourist and was framed by drug dealers.
We have to pay attention to the background of these successive trials, that is, the last round of hearings in the extradition case of Meng Wanzhou, the chief financial officer of Huawei, is also in the Supreme Court of British Columbia, Canada, lasting from August 4th to 20th.
The outside world generally believes that the CCP's heavy sentence of Canadian citizens during the Meng Wanzhou trial was to put pressure on the Canadian government. At the same time, Michael Kovrig, a former Canadian diplomat, was also arrested by the CCP on espionage charges. I don’t know when the sentence will be pronounced.
On the 11th, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau issued a statement condemning, “The conviction and sentence of Spaffer by China (the Chinese Communist Party) is absolutely unacceptable and completely unfair.”
On the same day, dozens of diplomats in China from 25 countries went to the Canadian Embassy in Beijing to support them, including diplomats from the United States, Japan, Britain, Germany, France and Lithuania.
Canadian ambassador to China, Dominic Barton, said at a press conference outside the court, “Our collective body and voice have sent a strong signal to China (the CCP) that the whole world is paying attention (this case) )."
He also relayed three messages to the public on behalf of Spaffer, "First, thank you for all your support, which is of great significance to me; second, I am in good spirits; third, I want to go home."
Regarding this matter, US Secretary of State Blinken also issued a statement. He said, “We are working with the international community to call on the People’s Republic of China (PRC) to immediately and unconditionally release Canadian citizens Michael Spaffer and Cumming Kay. We continue to condemn these arbitrary detentions (acts), and on 10 August  (US Eastern Time) the verdict against Mr. Spaffer."
Blinken also stated that the CCP "arbitrarily detained individuals to exert influence on foreign governments is totally unacceptable. People should never be used as bargaining chips."

Sun Chunlan suspects that Yangzhou anti-epidemic measures inefficient, Yangzhou lockdown may be more severe
Reporter : Li Muyang / Publisher : News Insight / https://www.ntdtv.com/gb/2021/08/12/a103188336.html
Let me talk about the epidemic in Yangzhou. Today (11th), some netizens in Yangzhou sent me a few more videos. The film shows that some communities in Yangzhou have been blocked off entrances and exits, and the residents of some buildings have been moved to other places for centralized isolation. All people are wearing white protective isolation suits, including the child in their arms.
In addition, a banned resident of Yangzhou, Jiangsu Province was crying and begging that the child could only eat with salt every day, and he was starving to death. There was also news that a Yangzhou man jumped off the building.
Whether it is the videos passed to me by netizens today or yesterday’s news, it can be seen that Yangzhou’s banning measures are quite strict and the measures are very strict. That's why some of the banned residents have no food to eat, and they can't bear to jump off the building. However, in the eyes of the authorities, this seems to be insufficient.
On 11 August the Vice Premier of the Communist Party of China Sun Chunlan went to Yangzhou, demanding the implementation of the "four morning" requirements and the consolidation of the "quartet responsibilities." Sun Chunlan asked the Yangzhou authorities to "strictly strengthen isolation control, resolutely and thoroughly isolate key personnel", "strictly close the management of medium and high-risk communities, and confirm that community personnel do not leave their homes" and so on.
The measures Sun Chunlan emphasized obviously felt that Yangzhou’s quarantine measures were not enough, and they should continue to be strengthened. So I think that after Sun Chunlan makes these requirements, Yangzhou’s quarantine measures are likely to be further strengthened and stricter.
Today (11 August), the Yangzhou police issued a "rumor-defying" report, claiming that "Jiangsu Armed Police will take over Yangzhou in full", "Infected more than 700, dare not report it" and other news are "false information." The staff has processed it.
I don't know how you think about the "rumoring" of the Yangzhou police. I think the information from the authorities is too opaque. It is not surprising that there are various rumors. Moreover, some widely circulated claims in the market are often confirmed later.
If the armed police really take over Yangzhou in an all-round way, it may be more severe than Wuhan at the time. Especially after Sun Chunlan has these new requirements, will this happen? It really needs our attention.
I can't see more news on the Internet. Almost all the news on the Internet is the voice of the CCP's official media. Therefore, I hope that netizens who know the truth can provide us with real and accurate information and announce the true situation of the epidemic area. Only in this way can we help those suffering people.

Epidemic investigation report listed on time axis reveals cases of pneumonia in Yunnan mines 9 years ago
Reporter : Zhang Ruizhen / https://www.ntdtv.com/gb/2021/08/10/a103187247.html / Image : Video Screenshot

In June of this year, the White House Epidemic Prevention Consultant Fauci asked the Chinese Communist Party to publish information about six miners contracting unidentified pneumonia in 2012. Many media also followed up with reports, believing that This incident is a key link in investigating the origin of the Wuhan pneumonia epidemic. The investigation report on the origin of the epidemic released by Republicans in the US House of Representatives on the 2nd also marked the Mojiang Mine pit incident.
Hans Mahncke (2021.7), host of the English Epoch Times "Truth over News" program: "In April 2012, six miners were seriously ill due to an unknown disease when they were cleaning up an abandoned mine in the Mojiang area of (China). They were 200 from the mine. A research team working at Miles, led by Shi Zhengli, director of the Wuhan Institute of Virology(WIV), rushed to the scene and collected (virus) samples in the Mojiang Mine for the next two years."
The timeline of the investigation into the origin of the epidemic announced by the Republicans in the US House of Representatives on the 2nd marked the Mojiang pit incident in April 2012. At that time, 6 workers aged between 30 and 63 were working in an abandoned copper mine in Mojiang, Yunnan. Later, all of them suffered from severe pneumonia, with symptoms such as "continuous cough, fever, chest pain, and difficulty breathing". After being sent to a hospital in Kunming, three people died unfortunately.
Shi Zhengli's team, collected bat samples in this Mojiang mine from 2012 to 2015.
Between 2015 and 2019, Shi Zhengli’s team worked with Ralph S. Baric, a virus expert at the University of North Carolina, and Peter Daszak, a member of the WHO expert team, to publish several studies. It means that the novel coronavirus has been successfully isolated, researched on functional gains, and genetically modified animals implanted with human stem cells and human immune systems, such as mice and civet cats, have been infected with new and genetically modified viruses.
On 16 July 2019, Wuhan Institute of Virology requested a comprehensive renovation of the hazardous waste treatment system that has been in use for less than 2 years.
At the end of August and early September 2019, one or more researchers from the WIV accidentally contracted COVID-19.
On 12 September 2019, the virus gene sequence and sample database of Wuhan Institute of Virology was suddenly offline and closed.
In October 2019, the World Military Games was held in Wuhan for 10 days. Except that the number of spectators was zero, foreign athletes described Wuhan as "a ghost city and witnessed military roadblocks around Wuhan." Dozens of athletes got sick in Wuhan and reported COVID- 19 The virus brought back all over the world.
On 27 December 2019, the Chinese Communist Party officially announced the first case of COVID-19 infection.
On 17 November 2020, under external pressure, Shi Zhengli's team admitted that from 2012 to 2015, 293 coronaviruses were collected in Yunnan caves, one of which is similar to SARS, and named this virus RaBtCoV/4991.
In early February 2020, when the COVID-19 epidemic began to spread, Shi Zhengli renamed the RaBtCoV/4991 virus to RaTG13, and this virus is currently known to be the closest to the COVID-19 virus. The genome of the virus is 96.2% identical.
In December 2020, a British BBC reporter tried to visit a cave in Yunnan, but was followed and stopped by plainclothes police from the CCP. The French TV program Envoye Special once reported that residents near the Mojiang mine said that several people were arrested because they were too close to the mine.

China complains after shell, gunfire from Myanmar hit border town

Chinese authorities have sent a complaint letter to the Myanmar military after an artillery shell and gunfire from Myanmar struck the Chinese border town of Wanding in Yunnan Province on two occasions last week. The incidents occurred amid fierce fighting between regime troops and ethnic armed groups in northern Shan State.

PLA will fight back if Chinese civilians in border areas continue to be threatened

In the letter, Chinese authorities said they were highly concerned about the recent incidents, describing them as breaches of the China-Myanmar border agreement. China also warned the regime that if stray bullets and artillery landed in China’s territory again, it would “make the necessary response”, as the lives and properties of Chinese civilians in border areas were threatened.

Photos on WeChat showed Chinese troops dispatched to the border areas immediately after the incidents. Moreover, the Chinese Foreign Ministry summoned Myanmar Ambassador U Myo Thant Pe on 5 August and urged the regime to stop the fighting immediately in border areas.

In the letter, China demanded that Myanmar investigate the incident and notify Beijing of the results as soon as possible.

Shell and bullets hit Wanding on 4 and 6 August

According to Chinese authorities, an artillery shell landed in Wanding on 4 August and bullets hit a private house there on 6 August causing damage to buildings and fear among local residents. The clashes occurred near the border gate in Wanding, one of the major trade portals between the two countries.

In the letter China told the regime, “We hope that Myanmar would strictly follow the consensus between the two countries: put an end to the clashes and work together to maintain the security of the China-Myanmar border areas.”

According to Chinese citizens in border areas quoted by Chinese media, since early August, a series of clashes have occurred near the border in northern Shan State, with bullets and artillery from Myanmar landing in China quite often.

In response, the regime said the incident occurred during a clash after the Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army (MNDAA) launched an attack on a military convoy in the Kyukoke-Panseng area. It claimed the artillery shell and bullets were fired by the MNDAA, according to a leaked statement from the military.

It said in a statement that the military did not breach the border agreement, adding that the military would attack armed groups that threatened the lives of people and the stability of the border areas.

The MNDAA said it launched attacks on regime troops after the military entered territory where Northern Alliance members are active.

U.S. holds talks over US$50 million aid to Myanmar

The United States Ambassador to the United Nations (UN), Linda Thomas-Greenfield, has talked online with the renowned Myanmar physician Dr. Cynthia Maung about facilitating US$50 million in emergency humanitarian aid to the people of Myanmar.

Dr. Cynthia Maung has provided free healthcare services to vulnerable communities on the Thailand-Myanmar frontier for three decades. She is the founder of the Mae Tao Clinic based in the Thai border town of Mae Sot.

Dr.Maung, who is also the leader of the parallel National Unity Government’s (NUG) COVID-19 Task Force, said she did not specifically discuss with the ambassador the prospect of the US providing coronavirus vaccines to Myanmar.

Dr.  Maung said that the ambassador discussed how they can work together “to facilitate providing assistance inside of Myanmar and how to strengthen the border healthcare system by providing cross-border aids”.

Different groups including the Mae Tao Clinic, community-based organizations and domestic and international non-governmental organizations shared their views with the ambassador and spoke of the work being done by ethnic health organizations in rural areas, the doctor told The Irrawaddy.

Ambassador Thomas-Greenfield said on Tuesday during her visit to Thailand that the US is providing more than $50 million in critical humanitarian assistance to the vulnerable people of Myanmar, including refugees, internally displaced people and those forced to flee violence and persecution following the military’s February 1 coup.

She told reporters during a virtual press briefing on Wednesday that the aid is to provide emergency food assistance, life-saving protection, shelter, essential healthcare, water, sanitation and hygiene services to vulnerable people from Myanmar, including over 700,000 refugees and internally displaced people.

“These funds will flow directly through international non-governmental organizations and our partners to meet the needs of vulnerable people, including those that are in the Thai-Myanmar border area,” said the ambassador. “And these funds will be used to respond to the COVID-19 crisis and meet the needs of people, including those at the Thai-Myanmar border.”

Myanmar is facing a deadly third wave of coronavirus, even as the country copes with post-coup economic turmoil and the people continue to reject military rule.

The ambassador added that the United States continues to engage with Myanmar’s full range of civil society organizations and pro-democracy groups and had recently held conversations with the NUG.

“The U.S. will continue to support all those working peacefully to restore Myanmar to the path of democracy and urge the military to cease its violent actions and release all those who have been detained,” said the ambassador.
