Wuhan a ghost city at morning peak hours on 18 May 2019

Image : Scenery outside Mercure Hotel, Wuhan, where I stayed on 17 May 2019, at 7 am. The scene is the same on 18 May 2019.

Mercure Hotel (below), where I stay in Wuhan for two nights in May 2019, is 0.97 miles from Yellow Crane Tower. It is the nearest downtown hotel of Wuhan for foreigners.

Outside the hotel, Wuhan looks like a ghost city during the morning peak hours. Busy traffic only appeared after 8 am in this area but the traffic is not as busy as Singapore until after 9 am.

Until now, I still do not understand why there is hardly any morning traffic from 7 am to 9 am as the Wuhan Chinese wait for their buses for a long time, at least 30 minutes long for a public bus. Is there traffic restriction rule in Wuhan? If yes, what is the rule's purpose? To prevent a disease spread?

The same situation appears when I visit Huangpi District of Wuhan near Wuhan Tianhe Airport on 7 September 2019. There is almost no traffic at 7 am in this housing estate. There are not many tourists to the famous Hua Mulan AAAA tourist scenic site near the airport Huangpi District outside the airport looks dead and the cost of a taxi ride within Huangpi District is exorbitant around S$50 per ride.

There were no airport buses from Wuhan Tianhe Airport to Huangpi and other districts until after the city lockdown in 2020.

Suspicious cough symptom after the first Urumqi Air flight

After I return to Singapore from Wuhan by Urumqi Air inaugural flight on 18 May 2019, I shortly developed severe cough and the phlegm or sputum is light green. I felt the colour was abnormal. I went to a clinic for diagnosis and got an x-ray. The doctor could not determine if I had "pneumonia" as my lungs look clear.

Covid also known as novel coronavirus pneumonia in China is a form of pneumonia. In 2020, the World Health Organization (WHO) renames novel coronavirus (The Straits Times refers it to the disease) and novel coronavirus pneumonia as COVID-19 and I first shorten it to covid for my news translations. I further shorten "novel coronavirus" to covi. The National Health Commission of the CCP continues to refer COVID-19 as novel coronavirus pneumonia.

I recovered one week later in May 2019.

The U.S. House of Representatives Republican report on the origins of COVID-19 advances the onset of the disease to August or September 2019 and I believe the virus SARS-CoV-2 (known then as novel coronavirus and is still used by some media and me) may have appeared months before August 2019.

Not every cough suggests covid, note the colour of the phlegm

According to the UK media Express, the easiest way to detect if a person could have covi infection is the colour of the phlegm or sputum. The Express report on 8 April 2020 discloses that if the phlegm is green it is a major warning of covid. I copy the extract of the report below.

"Sputum that is a different colour form (from) the normal colour of your saliva is a major sign of a respiratory tract infection.

With bacterial respiratory tract infections, sputum may also have a thick consistency and an unpleasant odour.

A general rule of infection warning and sputum production is that the colour will go from dark green in the early stages of an infection and will gradually lighten as the infection improves."

The CCP once again slammed the source of the virus, the U.S. Department of Defense responded

Recently, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Chinese Communist Party and the Chinese Communist Party’s official media have cooperated inside and outside, and once again smashed the United States on the source of SARS-CoV-2 (CCP virus, novel coronavirus, Wuhan virus, covi), claiming American soldiers brought the virus to the Wuhan Military Games in October 2019. In response, the U.S. Department of Defense responded on 12 August 2021 that the CCP’s allegations had no evidence.

The U.S. Department of Defense stated in its response, "The U.S. Department of Defense has clearly stated in the past that we did not know of any U.S. military athletes who contracted the novel coronavirus before participating in the 2019 Military Games. In fact, China (CCP) has admitted that the virus has spread from Wuhan. Before the U.S. government issued a travel ban, there was no evidence that the U.S. military had been infected with the novel coronavirus."

In addition, the U.S. Department of Defense also called on the CCP to cooperate with the second virus traceability investigation requested by the World Health Organization in its statement, stating that the Department of Defense fully supports the ongoing investigation of the source of the novel coronavirus. However, "only when the Chinese (Communist) authorities are completely transparent, the survey will be effective."

In recent days, the CCP has once again hyped the conspiracy theory of the so-called "U.S. military poisoning", alluding to the fact that the five U.S. troops participating in the military games were taken back home by the U.S. special plane because they were infected with the novel coronavirus. In response, Radio Free Asia refuted the CCP’s claims based on the factual evidence it had.

Radio Free Asia pointed out that as early as 23 February 2020, the director of Wuhan Jinyintan Hospital, where five American soldiers were admitted at the time, clarified to the Southern Weekend reporter that the five foreign athletes of the Military Games were suffering from malaria and had nothing to do with the "novel coronavirus pneumonia" (COVID-19, covid).

Regarding the CCP’s accusation that the U.S. military cyclist Maatje Benassi was the “patient zero” of the novel coronavirus, Radio Free Asia also refuted that Benassi had clarified that she had never contracted covi in an interview with the US media in 2020. The CCP’s slander disrupted her peaceful life in the suburbs of Washington, and even faced death threats. In response, she also initiated a fundraiser to sue George Webb, a Washington reporter who provided the CCP with patchwork data and falsely accused her of "defamation." Later, because the amount of funds raised did not meet the target, she suspended the lawsuit.

According to Radio Free Asia analysis, the CCP once again shook the United States over the source of the virus in July this year because of the strategy of "proactively attacking" and controlling public opinion in the face of the World Health Organization (WHO) and the international community's virus source investigation and accountability pressure.

The spokesperson of the Chinese Communist Party’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Zhao Lijian, threw out the "theory of poisoning by the US military" as early as March 12 last year, which infuriated the then-U.S. President Trump (Trump). Trump personally tweeted Zhao Lijian as "China's lunatic" and "stupid", and said that "it was the "incompetent China (Communist)", not others, that caused this 'large-scale global killing'! "

On 13 March 2020, David Stilwell, Assistant Secretary of State for Asia-Pacific Affairs of the U.S. State Department, summoned Cui Tiankai, the then CCP’s ambassador to the U.S., and expressed the U.S. government’s “very firm stand” and “stern” protest on Zhao Lijian’s statement. The CCP will not tolerate such remarks. In May last year, Trump made it clear that the epidemic was the CCP’s fault, and the United States must hold the CCP to account for the epidemic.

On 30 July 2021, Zhao Lijian once again hinted at the possibility of the US military bringing the virus to China at a press conference, and was hyped by the Chinese Communist Party’s official media.

In this regard, Mark Fenster, a professor at the University of Florida who studies political conspiracy theories, told Free Asia that the CCP’s motivation for manipulating conspiracy theories is to build mass support and shift the focus of its wrongdoing; "Evil motives" are to divert the anger of the people and untie themselves. He believes that the CCP's conspiracy theory at this time is deliberately manipulating nationalism, and through the Chinese people's inherent prejudice against the United States, establishing the idea of an "evil America".

Cheng Yi, a senior Chinese media person, analyzed that a normal country and normal organization would not dare to do so. The CCP used central-level party media to release these news in order to make the Chinese people think that the epidemic is a conspiracy of Western countries. He said, "Just like in the era of the Great Famine, the People's Daily said that China had 300,000 catties per mu. At that time, didn't the Chinese still believe in it? Now repeating historical ridiculous tricks is mainly for internal transmission and maintaining stability."

US Army reservist and cyclist target of CCP's conspiracy theory

Image : Maatje Benassi (left) and her husband (right) were victimized in the CCP virus conspiracy theory when Benassi did not suffer from covid. (Video Screenshot)

Maatje Benassi, a US Army reservist and mother of two, has become the target of conspiracy theorists. They claim that she would have been the one to bring SARS-CoV-2 (novel coronavirus, covi, CCP virus) to China. On the one hand, therefore, the thesis that the virus was produced in the laboratory in Wuhan, on the other that it was the US that exported it. In between, an alleged biological war between the two great world powers. The story of the cyclist and member of the army was reconstructed by CNN is a story about a family destroyed by a conspiracy theory.

News (7)

The absurd accusations made against Maatje Benassi

Although she has never proved she has been positive for covid or has exhibited symptoms of covid, Benassi and her husband are now the subjects of discussion on Chinese social media. There are many who believe the thesis that she was the so-called "patient zero". Those accusations have turned their lives upside down.

The couple say their home address has been posted online. Before they shut down their accounts, their social media inboxes were flooded with messages from believers in this conspiracy theory.

"It's like waking up from a bad dream and stepping into a nightmare day after day," Maatje Benassi told CNN Business in an exclusive interview, the first time she spoke publicly in late April 2020.

Conspiracy theories are not unlike viruses, as they evolve and mutate to spread and survive. Before Maatje Benassi became the main protagonist of this conspiracy, the variables had been circulating online for months. From the start, conspiracy theorists began to argue, without evidence, that it was a US bioweapon.

Subsequently, a member of the CCP government, Zhao Lijian, publicly promoted the idea that the US military had brought the virus to Wuhan. US Defense Secretary Mark Esper said it was "absolutely ridiculous and irresponsible" for someone speaking on behalf of the CCP government to promote such a thesis.

What the US military cyclist was doing in China in October 2019

What does Maatje Benassi have to do with the spread of covid? To find out, you have to go back to October 2019. The woman participated in the military Olympics, an event that was hosted by Wuhan, the Chinese city where the covid outbreak broke out in December 2019. She participated in the cycling competition and suffered from an accident on the last lap that left her with a fractured rib and concussion.

Despite the accident, Benassi still finished the race but what happened to her in the race turned out to be the start of something worse.

While hundreds of athletes from the US military took part in the games, only Maatje Benassi was subsequently assigned a leading role in conspiracy theory. According to what was spread by Chinese social media, in essence, the woman would have brought the virus with her - born in US military laboratories - contributing to its spread.

More athletes claimed that they contracted COVID-19 at Wuhan Military Games in October 2019

Reporter : Michael Houston

More athletes had revealed in May 2020 that they fell ill during the Military World Games in October 2019 when the Chinese city of Wuhan hosted the event months before the Wuhan virus outbreak.

Taking place in October, the allegations came two months before the first identification of COVID-19 by China.

Close to 10,000 competitors competed at the Games from over 100 countries during the nine-day event.

Speaking to the Mail on Sunday, German volleyball player Jacqueline Brock alleged that she got COVID-19 despite no cases being reported until December.

She said, "After a few days, some athletes from my team got ill, I got sick in the last two days.

"I have never felt so sick, either it was a very bad cold or COVID-19, I think it was COVID-19."

It comes after French pentathlete Elodie Clouvel claimed she and her partner Valentin Belaud contracted the virus at the Games.

Italian fencer Matteo Tagliarol also said everyone in his apartment in the city fell ill with symptoms "that looked like those of COVID-19".

Luxembourg triathlete Oliver Gorges said he fell ill with a flu and is now to undergo an antibody test this week to see if he has COVID-19.

He claimed that Wuhan was a "ghost town" when he went for a cycle in the city, while also saying that he had his temperature recorded on arrival at the airport while athletes were told to wash their hands when entering the canteen.

However, Swedish pentathlete Melina Westerberg said that many of her compatriots were sick at the Games, but none tested positive for the virus claiming, "It was just a coincidence, we all felt safe."

The CCP prevents the WHO from investigating the origin of the virus, and the Biden administration is "deeply disappointed"

On 13 August 2021, an American official revealed to the Daily Telegraph exclusively that the CCP once again rejected the World Health Organization (WHO) from further investigating the origin of SARS-CoV-2 (CCP virus, Wuhan virus, novel coronavirus, covi), and the Biden administration was "deeply disappointed."
The U.S. official said, "Together with other WHO member states around the world, we have been calling on China (the Communist Party) to provide the necessary data and samples. This is vital so that we can understand how to prevent the next covid pandemic. This is about saving lives in the future. Now is not the time to delay. We are responsible to our people and people all over the world. We must thoroughly and non-political study the origin of the (CCP virus)."
“The early epidemic occurred in China irrefutably; however, China (the Communist Party) has been confusing and refusing to allow the international community to obtain the information it needs,” the official added.
For several months, the United States and its allies have been calling on the CCP to conduct a more transparent "second phase" investigation into the origin of the Wuhan virus, but so far there has been no result. In a recent press conference, Vice Foreign Minister Ma Zhaoxu not only rejected the WHO's latest virus traceability request, but also believed that the United States and other countries are "politicizing" the epidemic.
Alibaba founder Jack Ma claimed that when talking about this WHO requirement, countries must "implement" the conclusions of the WHO-China joint research report (referring to the first virus traceability report). However, the Biden administration refused to accept this statement, saying that the international community was not satisfied with the initial joint WHO report on the origin of the virus because "the initial investigation was full of problems, and these problems were not resolved in the final report." .
After covi first appeared in Wuhan in November 2019, the original WHO research team arrived in Wuhan, and it has been more than a year. However, the team was unable to collect any virus samples by itself, and could only rely on human and animal samples collected by Chinese scientists. To this end, scientists from the United States, the European Union, Australia, and Japan signed an open letter at the end of July this year, emphasizing that China (the Communist Party) should be transparent in its investigation of the epidemic.
In the call for investigation of the origin of covi, the theory of "laboratory leaks" has gradually become the focus. According to the theory, the CCP virus was accidentally leaked from the laboratory of Wuhan Institute of Virology. However, this theory was initially denounced as a conspiracy theory by authoritative media. At present, many international experts believe that, like the theory that the covi transfers from wild bats to humans through some kind of intermediary, the possibility of laboratory leakage is also very high.

U.S. Senator: Fauci concealed the origin of the virus and exempted the CCP from blame
U.S. Republican Senator Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee recently accused Anthony Fauci of trying to transfer people to his initial handling of the new crown virus Criticism of the laboratory leak theory concealed the fact that the CCP deliberately downplayed the possibility of the virus leaking from the laboratory and concealed the fact that the CCP caused this deadly epidemic. As a result, the CCP was exempted from accountability.
On 21 June, Blackburn said in an interview with Fox News: “Whether intentionally or unintentionally, Dr. Fauci’s remarks cover up the CCP’s deliberately downplaying the possibility of the virus leaking from the laboratory and cover up the CCP’s cause of this. The facts of a fatal epidemic. Both Fauci and the mainstream media refused to take the laboratory leak theory seriously. Until recently, they were doing their best to describe it as 'crazy.' Big technology companies like Facebook even reviewed the new coronavirus. The discussion of the origin of the (CCP virus). However, no amount of cover-ups can change the facts."
Last month, President Biden ordered the intelligence community to further investigate the origin of the Chinese Communist virus and report the findings within 90 days. According to the Wall Street Journal, in the autumn of 2019, all three researchers from Wuhan Virus Research in China were hospitalized with similar symptoms of the new coronavirus (CCV). In recent weeks, there have been increasing calls from all walks of life in the United States to investigate the virus leaking from the laboratory, which was previously dismissed as a "conspiracy theory."
When participating in the "Sway" podcast of The New York Times, Fauci talked about the laboratory leakage theory and reiterated his belief that the origin of the epidemic was caused by human contact with infected animals, not a "laboratory accident." He said: "This is the most likely explanation for the origin of this epidemic."
In a podcast, Fauci explained his suspicion of the laboratory leak theory. He believes that the available evidence from virologists shows that the CCP virus is "absolutely in line with something that evolved from a bat virus." He said that experts have not found evidence to support the virus as "something from the laboratory."
Recently, Fauci said: "The truth is that I just gave you a reason to talk to knowledgeable virologists and evolutionary biologists. Nevertheless, I remain open and think (lab leak) this is a possibility. So that’s why you say, well, this person says it’s a possibility and that person says it’s possible, almost saying I don’t agree with them. I don’t. I mean it’s a possibility. I think this is a very, very, very, very remote possibility but it is a possibility."
Blackburn called on Fauci to explain why he didn't investigate the laboratory leak theory earlier, and why he initially dismissed the possibility. She accused Fauci of cooperating with Facebook to "seal" the leaked theoretical posts of the Wuhan laboratory.
Recently, Fauci’s e-mails were made public after a number of media requested the Freedom of Information Act. He is facing increasing pressure from the Republican Party, and both the House of Representatives and Senate have called on him to resign or be fired.
Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan told Fox Business last week that Facebook’s initial decision to close the debate on the nature of covi may hinder the people from exerting pressure on government officials and preventing them from taking it seriously (lab leak ) This theory. "Why is this big technology platform colluding with the government to suppress the very credible information that we only know now?" he asked.
Jordan believes that Fauci played down the laboratory leak theory that covi was designed by the Wuhan laboratory, which is consistent with Facebook. Suppressing these content on their platform is very telling. However, when the Biden administration announced that it was investigating this theory, Facebook changed, and Fauci also changed and said, "The virus originated in the laboratory and may have a certain degree of credibility."
Stanford University medical professor Jay Bhattacharya commented on Fauci on "The Ingraham Angle" last week: "I really don't understand his turbulence. His answer is totally meaningless." "I think his credibility is over."

The threat of worldwide terrorism still exists, CCP faces prospect of regime collapse

According to CNN and Indian independent media IBT, as the Taliban continues to capture major Afghan provinces, it intends to spread Islamic law across the world. The chilling statement was given by one of its commanders during an interview with CNN in the country's Ghazni province.

On 14 August 2021 (Saturday), the insurgent group captured Logar province, situated less than 80 kilometres south of Afghanistan's capital Kabul.

Speaking to CNN's Clarissa Ward, from the remains of Combat Outpost Andar in Afghanistan's Ghazni province, Taliban Commander Muhammed Arif Mustafa revealed the long-term plans of the terror outfit.

On being asked if they ever attacked the base when it was occupied by the American military, Mustafa said that they undertook several operations which also included the use of IEDs. "The Americans had their helicopters, weapon and tanks on the ground. We mujahideens resisted very well," he said.

"It is our belief that one day mujahideens will have victory and Islamic law will come not to just Afghanistan but all over the world. We are not in a hurry. We believe it will come one day. Jihad will not end until the last day," said Mustafa.

Mustafa has implied that Taliban will also challenge the CCP in mainland China if Wang Yi fell into the Taliban's trap on providing the necessary infrastructure to rebuild Afghanistan under the CCP's "One Belt, One Road" Project (BRI).

The CCP is facing possibility of regime collapse within the next few years.

U.S. troops may enter Uzbek air base to support Afghanistan

Reporter : Gao Jianwen / Editor : Yun Tian https://www.soundofhope.org/post/535376 / Image : Video Screenshot

The armed group Taliban recently took advantage of the withdrawal of foreign forces from Afghanistan and continued to push the capital Kabul. In this regard, the United States is negotiating with Uzbekistan to station in an air base, in order to help the Afghan government to stabilize the situation nearby.

The Taliban have now occupied 16 of Afghanistan’s 34 provincial capitals. Although the capital Kabul is not currently under direct threat, Puli Alam, the capital of Loga Province, only 50 kilometers away from Kabul, has been captured, worsening the security situation in Afghanistan.

As the situation in Afghanistan takes a turn for the worse, although the U.S. Department of Defense has not yet disclosed whether it will provide support through air strikes after the August 31 withdrawal deadline, according to a report in Air Force Magazine, the U.S. is negotiating with Uzbekistan to enter the country. China’s "K2 Air Force Base" matters.

According to reports, Uzbek government officials were quoted as saying that the U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin and Uzbek Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov also discussed this issue when they met at the Pentagon on 1 July.

Uzbek Defense Ministry spokesperson Eric Pahon said that the United States and Uzbekistan have established a stable military partnership through joint exercises and professional training since 2012, but he declined to confirm the discussion about entering the base.

Another Uzbek government official also stated that Uzbekistan is interested in more professional military education and training opportunities to strengthen its military quality. However, according to the constitution, Uzbekistan prohibits foreign countries from setting up military bases in its territory. The official said he was not sure whether the ban would extend to prevent the U.S. Air Force from using the Uzbek Air Base runway to support Afghanistan.

An Uzbek military official who did not want to be named stated during the interview that Uzbekistan has already responded to the request made by the United States and is currently negotiating. However, the official declined to comment on the possibility of reaching a base agreement.

Missing after blood test, suspected organ harvesting in Chinese mental hospital
Reporter : Yang Yang / https://www.ntdtv.com/gb/2021/08/14/a103190512.html / Image : Video Screenshot
Human rights activist Jie Lijian was illegally detained and persecuted at Kangning Hospital in Luohu District, Shenzhen, Guangdong Province during his petition on the mainland. During this period, the hospital often compulsory blood tests.
Lijian said, "We all know that in society, he has undergone some physical examinations. Even if he does some physical examinations, he still has a small amount of blood drawn. However, in the Kangning Hospital, that is, in the mental hospital, he is a very large The degree of blood is more than 4-5 times the amount of blood drawn in a social physical examination."
Jie Lijian pointed out that after being compulsory for blood tests, people have disappeared one after another.
He added, "Some familiar people we know, I have found that several people have disappeared in more than 50 days. He did not move normally during the day, but disappeared at 12 o'clock in the middle of the night. There was a jet lag in the blood transfusion test, and I suddenly disappeared in about 3-5 days."
During the period, Jie Lijian met a very kind eldest sister Huang, who was a Christian. Later, the eldest sister’s roommate revealed that she had also disappeared.
Jie Lijian testified, "I heard that a nurse surnamed Huang was looking for Sister Huang in the middle of the night and said she was going to take her away. Sister Huang said, "I will not go anywhere. Where do you take me, there will be no voice in the end. The nurse is very I asked the nurse rudely: Is the injection finished? The nurse said that after the injection, he heard the kind of bed with movable wheels, squeaky sound, and pushed away."
In response, he suspects that the CCP uses mental hospitals to harvest people’s organs in order to make huge profits in the illegal organ trafficking market.

Defending Taiwan, U.S. uses "sausage cutting" tactics to counter the CCP
In recent years, the CCP has continuously strengthened its threats to Taiwan politically, economically, and militarily. The recent aggressive military threats have made the international community more concerned about the response of the United States. The US media Bloomberg pointed out that on the Taiwan issue, both the previous and current US administrations were using the CCP’s favorite "sausage cutting" tactics  to counter it.
"Sausage cutting" tactics are also called salami tactics or progressive tactics.
Since Congress passed the Taiwan Relations Act in 1979, the United States has been adopting a vague strategy on the defense of Taiwan. The United States also regularly sells weapons to Taiwan.
In recent years, as tensions in the Taiwan Strait have escalated, former President Trump has made the defense of Taiwan a pillar of the US strategy in the Indo-Pacific region. After President Biden took office, his government subsequently announced that US support for Taiwan in the threatening CCP military exercises was "solid as a rock."
Since 1979, the United States has not established formal diplomatic relations with Taiwan, and the Pentagon no longer deploys combat troops or aircraft there. This means that if the United States wants to intervene in a conflict in the Taiwan Strait, it will have to deploy troops located hundreds or even thousands of miles away to defend Taiwan.
Due to the CCP’s pressure on countries around the world, only 15 countries have formal diplomatic relations with Taiwan. Taiwan has also been excluded from many international organizations. Bloomberg pointed out that if the United States begins to recognize Taiwan diplomatically, it may provide Taiwan with more formal and clear defense commitments, greatly expand the relationship between the two militaries, and return Taipei to international forums. Analyst Dan Blumenthal believes that the United States may see Taiwan as an important partner rather than a legacy of the Cold War.
But the obvious challenge is that the Chinese government can use its influence to make this approach very difficult, and may react dangerously and even violently. This is why the United States chose not to give a clear answer to the issue of Taiwan’s defense.
Therefore, under the impetus of Congress, both Trump and Biden adopted a more subtle and gradual approach, that is, the "sausage cutting" tactic.
The Trump administration has increased and accelerated US arms sales to Taiwan. Trump and Biden expanded their high-level visits to Taiwan, making it easier for US military personnel to visit Taiwan. In 2019, the U.S. Ambassador to Palau participated in welcoming the visit of President Tsai Ing-wen of Taiwan. The U.S. State Department’s ambassador to Palau, Solomon Islands and then Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Patrick Murphy publicly lobbied these countries to maintain diplomatic relations with Taiwan and not to recognize the CCP.
US officials also pledged to help Taiwan strengthen its position in organizations such as the World Health Assembly. In recent months, the Biden administration announced negotiations on the US-Taiwan Free Trade Agreement, and at the same time urged several other countries-especially the G7 member states and Australia-to publicly express their opposition to the Chinese Communist Party’s invasion of the Taiwan Strait.
The accumulation of step-by-step measures shows that the United States is quietly working hard to reverse the long-term deterioration of Taiwan's status in the world. The "sausage cutting" tactic used by the United States actually borrowed from the CCP's own script.
Robert Sutter, a professor of international affairs practice at George Washington University, has previously stated that the United States pursues "its own one-China policy", not Beijing's "one-China principle." Washington has taken step-by-step actions to show greater support for Taiwan, thereby reassuring Taiwan and maintaining the status quo as the CCP increases its pressure on Taiwan.
Beijing often uses the "sausage cutting" tactic to try to change the status quo through gradual progress rather than a great leap forward. In the South China Sea, the CCP uses one coral reef, one artificial island, and one new military base to expand its influence in stages, while avoiding even greater provocations that may lead to a showdown with the United States.
According to Bloomberg, Xi Jinping is now facing the same US version of the strategy, which may reach its peak in a few years, greatly enhancing Taiwan's international status. But this is not a foolproof tactic. The Chinese Communist Party’s intimidation of Taiwan is increasing. Although this tactic of the United States is a smarter strategy, it takes time. The question today is, how much time is left in Taiwan?
Some American commentators believe that the United States has not gone far enough and needs to station troops in Taiwan or issue a clearer public warning to Xi Jinping.

Replace the Confucius Institute? Taiwanese overseas Chinese teaching institutions dominate
Reporter : Xu Cuiling / Editor : Lin Qinzhi / Image : The Taiwan Overseas Chinese Affairs Commission released a list of "Taiwan Chinese Language Learning Centers". (Provided by the Overseas Chinese Affairs Committee)
The CCP used Confucius Institutes to interfere in academic freedom and collect information, and more and more countries closed or reduced the size of Confucius Institutes. Regarding Taiwan’s active development of the international Chinese language teaching market this year, the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) pointed out on 13 August that Taiwan advocates democracy and freedom. Without the “baggage” attached to the Confucius Institute, it will be an opportunity for Taiwan’s Chinese language teaching institutions.
The BBC reported that according to the National Association of Scholars (NAS), there were 103 Confucius Institutes in the United States in 2017. By July 2021, the number had dropped to 41. Many other schools will also close Confucius Institutes in the second half of the year or next year. The reduction of Confucius Institutes in the United States has brought opportunities for Taiwan to promote overseas language learning platforms.
The BBC stated that the United States has been actively seeking a platform for learning Chinese since last year. In October last year, the cover of the US government’s official language learning website was changed to the Taipei 101 Building; The "U.S.-Taiwan Education Initiative" promotes language teaching cooperation between the two countries.
The Taiwan Overseas Chinese Affairs Commission announced in June that 20 Chinese language learning centers will be opened in the United States, Britain, Germany, France and other places. The BBC pointed out that 17 of them will be in the United States. This is the status of the colleges in the United States.
The BBC mentioned that when Taiwan promotes overseas language teaching, it uses "democratic freedom" and "diversified innovation" as well as "guarantee freedom of academic and opinion expression" as its concepts. 21 U.S. Congressmen wrote to the Secretary of Education in March stating that cooperation between the U.S. and Taiwan in educational affairs can limit the CCP’s influence and ensure the freedom of speech between the two parties. This is an alternative to Confucius Institutes.
Jonathan Sullivan, Director of Chinese Studies at the University of Nottingham, who had studied in Taiwan, told the BBC that Taiwan is a place that advocates democracy and freedom. There is no "baggage" attached to the Confucius Institute. "This will be the result of Taiwanese research and education talents." The best time", and he personally feels that Taiwan's textbooks and teaching methods are more suitable for Western students.
The BBC also reminded that according to data from the Overseas Chinese Affairs Commission, Taiwan currently has about 500 overseas Chinese schools in Europe and the United States, with a total of more than 9,000 Chinese teachers. Most Chinese teachers can only teach in English. If If they want to open up the Chinese language market in Europe, they may need to work harder.

The United States invites Taiwan to participate in the Democracy Summit? Hu Xijin threatens
Image : Global Times issued a war threat to Taiwan on possible participation in the democratic summit; two lines of struggle against the epidemic: coexist with the virus or clear it? (Provided by "Yokogawa View")
On 11 August 2021, the White House announces that the United States will hold a two-day democracy summit on 9 to 10 December 2021.
Three main agendas: Oppose totalitarianism, fight corruption, and promote respect for human rights. Earlier this March, Secretary of State Blinken testified before the Foreign Affairs Committee of the House of Representatives that he would invite Taiwan to participate in the Democracy Summit. Taiwan has also expressed its desire to participate in the summit.
The Chinese Communist Party has not yet made a formal response but Hu Xijin has issued a threat and it has been widely reported by Western media.
Hu Xijin published a social review when he was in Global Times, and he also posted a video. Key points: The democratic summit splits the world, and if Taiwan is invited, Beijing should react more strongly than the 1995 Taiwan Strait crisis. This will give the Communist fighters the best opportunity to fly over Taiwan and hope to escalate to a high-intensity confrontation. The missile and bomber answered.
Putting the United States and the CCP in a situation where there is no way out.
What is the significance of the Democracy Summit?
News (19)
Inviting Taiwan is more important to the United States than to Taiwan
Why organize a democracy summit? There are only two possibilities: Promote democracy and defend democracy. The former has been going on for decades and hundreds of years, and it is not new. The latter is the real reason. Why defending democracy is threatened?
According to the White House statement, “The challenge of our time is to show that democracies can produce results by improving the lives of their own people and by solving the biggest problems facing the wider world.” Participants will discuss “the challenges faced by democracy, work together to strengthen the foundation of democratic rejuvenation". The proof is so.
Where does the biggest threat to a democratic society come from? According to the current US policy, it is nothing more than the People's Republic of China (CCP), Russia, Iran, and North Korea. The latter three do not pose a threat to international democracy.
Russia is also a democratic country. No matter whether it is thorough or in line with Western standards, democracy covers elections. Freedom is another matter. In addition to geopolitics, Russia has very little influence in the world, and the threat to Western democracy is almost zero (only the former Soviet Union camp can be counted).
Iran is only a regional hegemony and its some terrorist activities pose no threat to the democratic system. North Korea is a nuclear threat and has zero influence on democracy in the world.
Only the CCP has a complete set of theories and practices that challenge the international democratic system, from the Chinese Communist model of the political system, to the economy, to the military, to the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). From the perspective of the democratic system, there are threats or challenges from both external and internal sources. Today among the external threats, the most important ones are from the CCP.
Since it is democracy, the opposition is dictatorship and totalitarianism. The one who stood at the forefront of fighting the totalitarianism of the CCP was Hong Kong two years ago. Now Hong Kong has fallen and Taiwan meets all the characteristics of a democratic system.
The third agenda of the United States is to promote respect for human rights. The mainland and Taiwan are also the strongest contrasts. The CCP is the regime that violates human rights the most in the world. Right now, Tibet, Xinjiang, freedom fighters of Hong Kong, Falun Gong, and underground churches and all kinds of religious beliefs are persecuted by the CCP, whose actions condemned by the world.
Taiwan is fully in line with international human rights standards.
Whether it is from the world or East Asia region, if a democracy summit is to be held to defend democracy, it is inevitable to face the CCP and support Taiwan. If you cannot openly and directly support Taiwan, the democratic summit will lose its meaning, and even the CCP will not dare to face it. What else is there to talk about opposing totalitarianism? What else is there to talk about promoting respect for human rights?
If you did not consider inviting Taiwan at the beginning, it is hard to imagine the purpose of launching the Democracy Summit.
If you succumb to the threat of the CCP, then in the contest between democracy and dictatorship, the democratic side will be defeated, and this will be defeated like a mountain.
So for the United States, this is a contest of values. Whether to invite Taiwan is more important to the United States than to Taiwan. This is different from Taiwan’s joining or returning to international organizations. International organizations still barely have a problem with the One China. The Democracy Summit is convened by the United States. It has nothing to do with the democratic system and values, and has nothing to do with the One China policy, no matter what the CCP says.
News (20)
Invite Taiwan to test the CCP
No matter what the CCP says, Global Times is under the banner of the People's Daily. The international community regards it as the CCP media and treats its arguments as the CCP's policy. The Washington Observer believes that Hu Xijin should be regarded as the spokesperson of the CCP’s foreign policy.
Therefore, the CCP will face a very serious choice. When the summit is held, Taiwan's official representative (may be the president or the plenipotentiary representative of the president, or a similar official official representative) will attend the summit. How will the CCP respond to it as a diplomatic protest? Or, as Hu Xijin said, the military plane overflew, so that it was upgraded to include the high-intensity confrontation of missile bombers?
You must know that once the war has entered a large-scale missile launch, it will continue to escalate into a full-scale war without the CCP. Is the CCP ready to fight the US military in the Taiwan Strait in December?
It takes more than half a year to prepare for a full-scale war in the Taiwan Strait. Even if the CCP is fighting in the Taiwan Strait, the opponents that must be considered include Taiwan, the United States and Japan. There are almost no significant countries that support the CCP in the world.
The CCP’s best infiltration and subversion of the united front will all be abolished and replaced by the least good at military confrontation. Even when the United States begins to decline, the CCP is still unable to start war now. There is no hope for at least ten years. This is in the United States. In the case of abolishing martial arts, if the United States does not abolish martial arts on its own, it will take longer.
It is estimated that the Chinese military is the one who most wants to choke the neck.

"Co-existence with the virus and zero" rises to the line struggle
With the progress of the epidemic, will co-existence with the virus and zeroing become a two-line struggle?
Shanghai expert Zhang Wenhong said about coexisting with the virus on 28 July 2021. At that time, it was because of the emergence of the highly contagious Covi72. He was criticized by the former Minister of Health Gao Qiang and published officially on the health client of the People’s Daily.
Gao Qiang believes that the relationship between human beings and viruses is "you do not have me, you die or I live", and China should "eliminate the virus in the ocean of people's war." This is the controversy between coexisting with the virus and clearing but it has risen to the level of line struggle.
In the dispute between experts and bureaucrats, Zhang Wenhong belongs to a professional who has been on the front line of medical treatment and anti-epidemic. Gao Qiang is not a professional, but is from an economic background and belongs to a bureaucrat.
News (22)
"Co-existence" is the strategy of Western countries
Coexistence is actually a strategy of Western countries. This is just an acknowledgment of reality. Because it has been widely spread in the community for more than a year, the tracking of confirmed cases is meaningless. The focus is on reducing severe illness and mortality. The method is still vaccine and herd immunity in infected people.
We will not discuss its effects. This can be said to be the most effective scientific method that can be found at present. The CCP’s clearing is to use administrative means to physically seal the city, the village and house doors. These two methods can be said to be science versus politics.
News (23)
CCP's "zero diagnosis" reflects its Great Leap Forward thinking
The CCP’s method is a continuation or new version of the Great Leap Forward thinking that people who fight against the sky and the earth fight against the people will conquer the sky. How to fight the People's War? Do not forget to eliminate sparrows in 58 years. The sparrows are so big that everyone can see them, and they have not been able to eliminate them, let alone the invisible viruses that spread through the air.
Gao Qiang, who has experienced SARS, is the main official, but there is a misunderstanding. He thinks that SARS was severely eliminated by official administrative means, that is, he said that SARS was indeed cleared to zero in the People’s War. With SARS experience, it is said that the CCP virus should be more severe. It is easy to be cleared. Why cannot it be cleared even now with harsher means? It shows that SARS is not cleared like that.
News (24)
SARS has never disappeared
Nobody knows how SARS broke out and how it disappeared. It is very likely that the existing knowledge is wrong.
It is also impossible to completely clear covi with a vaccine. Regardless of whether the CCP Chinese vaccine is effective or not, the efficiency of the mRNA vaccine that is considered to be very effective against the delta variant is also reduced.
News (25)
Smallpox eradicated, co-existence with covi is reality
Perhaps the most famous disease to use vaccines to eliminate the virus is smallpox, and there are more to control such as poliomyelitis, but smallpox has its particularity: a large molecular DNA virus, without mutations, vaccinia does not cause severe illness to humans but can cause human pox and immunity for life.
RNA viruses such as influenza and coronaviruses mutate rapidly, have immune escape, and may not have lifelong immunity. So co-existence is the recognition of reality.

Due to the surge in cases, the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC) opened a 20-bed field hospital in the parking lot on Friday.
The centre plans to open a mobile hospital tent next week, under the responsibility of a medical team sent by the US Department of Health.
Mississippi Governor Tate Reeves said that he originally wanted the assistance of the USNS Comfort, but the federal government rejected his request. In March 2020, the ship docked in Manhattan to reduce the burden on the local hospital.
Reeves said he welcomes any federal medical worker to Mississippi, but like many of his Republican colleagues, he also vowed not to force people to wear masks.
He said, "I believe everyone should make the decision they think is best for them."
As of Thursday, Mississippi hospitals currently have 1,578 COVID-19 patients hospitalized, which is the highest record since the beginning of the pandemic last year. According to official statistics, more than 90% of ICU beds are in use.

Infections and deaths surge, Iran will impose a total lockdown
As the number of infections and deaths soared, Iran announced new anti-epidemic measures on 14 August 2021.
Iranian state media reported that after being hit by the fifth wave of the CCP virus pandemic, the country will implement a six-day "total blockade" in cities across the country.
The blockade includes all bazaars, markets and offices in all cities in Iran, as well as cinemas, gyms and restaurants. It will start on Monday and last until Saturday.
The National Coronavirus Task Force that issued the decision also ordered a ban on travel between all cities from Sunday to Friday.

Last week, the number of deaths in a single day and the number of newly confirmed cases in Iran hit a new high, with 42,541 new cases and 588 deaths in a single day.
Since the Iranian government has been covering up the severity of the epidemic, the real data is believed to be higher than the official data.

The number of job postings that prescribe vaccine requirements has increased dramatically

According to the research department of the recruitment platform Indeed, in recent weeks, the number of job vacancies posted on its platform that uses the covi vaccine as a condition of employment has increased sharply, even in industries where there is little interaction with people. It is also asking for it.
Indeed job site research and insights department-Indeed Hiring Lab economist Ann Elizabeth Konkel  analyzed and reported that COVID-19 was explicitly mentioned per million in the week ending 7 August. The proportion of positions required for vaccines increased by 34% compared with the same period last month.
Consistent with this trend, the percentage of job postings that generally require vaccination but do not specifically mention the word COVID-19 soared by 90% within a month.
"Employers are well aware that the fear of COVID-19 and restrictions on it will inhibit economic activity. Some employers not only encourage their employees to be vaccinated, but also now require vaccinations," Conkel wrote.
According to the report, vaccination requirements appeared in industries that did not normally require employees to be vaccinated in the past, such as software development and marketing. Between February and July this year, the proportion of software development jobs requiring vaccinations soared to more than 10,000%—from 3.5/million job postings to 437.9.
Conkel wrote, "Similarly, other industries such as accounting, retail, and marketing that do not normally require vaccination are now beginning to require vaccination."
Although the percentage change numbers seem daunting, Konkel pointed out that job postings that require vaccines still account for "a small portion" of the overall list.
Before the survey results were released, large companies including Disney, Facebook, Google, McDonald’s, Twitter, United Airlines, and Wal-Mart announced that employees must be vaccinated.

Severe epidemic situation in the Philippines, lockdown not the solution
The Philippines has been locked down for more than a week due to the epidemic. The Employers’ Federation of the Philippines pointed out on Saturday that the closure of the city is not a solution to the epidemic and called on the government to open up the economy.
Metro Manila and neighbouring provinces implemented a two-week enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) lockdown measure starting on 6 August, affecting more than 20 million residents.
As the number of confirmed cases continues to rise, GMA News reported that Philippine Minister of Trade and Industry Ramon Lopez denied on Saturday that the lockdown measures will be extended to five weeks, and emphasized that this is "fake news." The government is fighting the epidemic across departments. The working group has not yet discussed whether it will extend the ECQ control.
Philippine industrial and commercial organizations have issued statements, hoping that the ECQ control will not be extended.
The Acting President of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI), Edgardo Lacson, said that a five-week lockdown of the city could completely crush the Philippine economy. "It will obliterate the short-term economic gains we achieved during the unsealed city and hinder the company's motivation to move forward."

Colorado rally against compulsory covi vaccination
On Friday (13 August), more than 250 people from all over Colorado gathered outside UCHealth in the Loveland Rockies to protest the compulsory vaccination of medical staff against COVID-19.
This rally is the third one sponsored by the Federation of Nurses and Healthcare Workers, a grassroots medical worker organization that opposes vaccine authorization.
The organization said in a press release, “The health systems of the three major regions have announced that they require mandatory vaccination against COVID-19. Many health care workers worry about the erosion and neglect of medical freedom and body autonomy.”
"Because of not participating in medical procedures that we do not agree with, we are threatened with unemployment. This does not respect autonomy. We advocate patient autonomy, but unfortunately, we now have to defend our own rights."
Earlier this month, UCHealth announced that it would require employees in its 12 facilities to be vaccinated against COVID-19 before 1 October or they will be fired unless they are exempted for religious or medical reasons .

Sydney covid lockdown extends to the whole of New South Wales
New South Wales, Australia (NSW) has entered a state-wide emergency lockdown from 5 pm local time on 14 August 2021. Previously, the state reported 466 new local covi infections and 4 deaths.
The Deputy Governor of New South Wales, John Barilaro, announced on Twitter, “In order to minimize movement and protect our community from the changing covid epidemic in Sydney, Starting at 5 pm, all areas of New South Wales will implement a stay-at-home order."
He also said, "Reasonable excuses for leaving home include purchasing necessities, medical treatment, nursing, outdoor sports with family members or another person, and work. If you can't work at home. School education will be done at home."
An hour before, New South Wales Governor Gladys Berejiklian issued a blockade announcement on Twitter.
She said, "After today's press conference, I received health advice on multiple areas in New South Wales. Therefore, starting from 5 o'clock tonight, all areas in NSW will enter a state of lockdown for 7 days. This means that the entire state is under strict lockdown."

U.S. Department of Security: Re-impose epidemic prevention restrictions or trigger violent incidents
Due to the spread of the Delta epidemic, some states in the United States have reissued mask orders and other stricter epidemic prevention restrictions. However, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) warned in a recent announcement that violent extremists may conduct violent attacks on the grounds of re-imposing covid blockade restrictions.
On 13 August, the Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas issued a National Terrorism Advisory System (NTAS) announcement, introducing the current high tensions across the United States, threatening the environment.
The announcement said, "These threats include domestic terrorists, individuals and violent groups based on dissatisfaction and hatred, and those affected or abetted by foreign terrorists and other malicious activities."
The department stated that these actors have recently been found to “use more and more online forums to influence and spread violent extremist speech and promote violent activities”.
The global pandemic has also exacerbated this threat, including dissatisfaction with public health security measures and blockade restrictions.
The announcement stated that the pressure related to COVID-19 “has contributed to an increase in social pressure and tensions, and promoted some conspiracies by violent extremists in the country, which may trigger more violence this year.”
The new announcement also mentioned that the differentiation and rumours of foreign rivals such as China and Russia may also exacerbate this threat.
"Opponents have intensified their efforts to sow discord. For example, media organizations related to the governments of Russia, China, and Iran have repeatedly amplified conspiracy theories about the origin of COVID-19 and the effectiveness of the vaccine; in some cases, they have also increased their opposition The violent appeals of the Asian ethnic group.” The announcement stated.

Recovery from vaccine injury thanks to Fastum Gel
I have applied Fastum Gel on my upper arm muscle and massaged for two weeks. As of 15 August 2021, I have fully recovered from my vaccine injury and suspected cervical radiculopathy. Rather than Panadol and other tablets for pain, Fastum Gel or ketoprofen relieves and cures muscular pain better than other muscle rubs.
Past medical history :
- Treatment for muscle knots, after a fall affecting right arm, with Ultrasound at Narathea from May 2020 to February 2021 after acupuncture did not work on it.
- No pain on my left arm before vaccination.
- Sudden pain on my right upper arm in March 2021 woke me up from sleep. I went for an X-ray. It was my humerus issue.
- There are "biting sensations" inside the skin intermittently on both hands but not regularly.

Fitness level before injection : No respiratory symptoms of covid. I had muscle ache.

Brand of dose : Comirnaty (Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine).

First injection date : 14 May 2021 (on left arm).
Second injection date : 6 June 2021 (on right arm).

Reactions to the first dose - I have no reaction during the first 30 minutes of rest at the vaccination centre. Only from the second day onwards, there is sharp pain that develops and spreads from the left arm to the right arm. There is no soreness and rash but it is painful. Comirnaty has clearing effect on remaining muscle knots in my right arm. For almost three months, I have not felt pain and any muscle knot when grabbing my right arm after two weeks. The pain returns to my left arm.

Date of onset of reactions to the first dose : 15 May 2021 (on left arm).

Treatment in relation to the first dose : I went to neighbouring clinics two times to change medicine for muscular pain from Napan (oral form) to Paracetemol to Diclofenac and relaxant Anarex, oral forms. I rubbed with Veron cream to control and stop the pain for one month. The pills only temporarily stop the pain. They are not the permanent solution.

Reactions to the second dose - 3 weeks from the second dose (inject on right arm), the sharp pain as if being hit by a car suddenly or lightning returns to my left arm, waking me up at 5.30 am, 6 am and 7 am. I have no respiratory symptoms of covid such as fever, cough and breathlessness. Due to muscle pain around the first dose injection site and upper arm, until now, my left hand can barely scratch my back. I find it hard to wear my jacket and tight clothes. Today I feel the disturbing pain on my left arm when moving in the double-decker bus that kept shaking. I feel pain on my left upper arm when my left elbow steps on an arm rest.
Intermittently, I have "biting sensations" beneath my body skin (arms, armpit, palms).

Date of onset of reactions to the second dose : 28 June 2021.

Treatment in relation to the second dose - I was given Daneuron (Vitamin B pills) for nerve pain by the polyclinic doctor on 29 June. The polyclinic doctor believed that my muscle pain was not due to the vaccine. It was due to my degenerative neck condition called cervical radiculopathy but I have no neck pain. Today (26 July 2021),  the TTSH Medical Centre doctor told me Daneuon is only Vitamin B supplements and that since I do not have neck pain, my left arm muscle pain around the injection site could be due to the vaccine. The TTSH pharmacy has dispensed to me ketoprofen (Fastum Gel) for muscle pain (also applicable for tendon, ligament, joint pain) and gabapentin for "biting sensations".

Victim status : Hospital discharge (never hospitalized) after further X-rays on both arms done at the hospital medical centre. I am on medical observation status. My next hospital medical centre appointment on both arm muscles is on 20 September 2021.

VIPAP : None.

I have submitted adverse reaction reports to the Health Science Authority (HSA) three times for muscle pain beyond three days after the first dose and second dose. HSA recommends people to see specialists if muscle pain persists both after the recommended rest period and withdrawal from strenuous exercises for two weeks.

UB-612 EUA data has been supplemented. FDA: Will hold an expert meeting to review

Reporter : Lin Huiqin / https://news.ltn.com.tw/news/life/breakingnews/3639049

The sixth round of appointments for domestic MVC vaccines will be officially opened on 16 August 2021. As for another domestic vaccine that has been pre-purchased by the Central Epidemic Command Center, the emergency use authorization (EUA) has not yet been approved. However, Wu Xiumei, Director of the Food and Drug Administration of the Ministry of Health and Welfare, said that the supplementary materials of United Biomedical Inc. Asia (UBI Asia) have been completed, and an expert meeting will be held in the near future to review the EUA application matters, emphasizing that there are "arrangements."

MVC Vaccines submitted an EUA application to the Food and Drug Administration on 15 June, and the command centre announced that it passed the review on 19 July, which lasted about a month; UBI Asia submitted an EUA application to the Food and Drug Administration on 30 June but It has been about one and a half months, but the application has not been approved, leaving the outside world wondering whether there are any variables.

The command centre commander Chen Shizhong said on 2 August 2021 that the EUA review progress of UBI Asia is still to be supplemented. It depends on whether the scientific evidence has convinced the experts and the experts have reviewed it. However, 19 batches of vaccines have been made and the inspection has been completed. It can be passed, and of course it is hoped that it will be listed under legal and reasonable circumstances, so it is necessary to make preparations in advance.

Regarding the latest review progress of UB-612 EUA, Director of Food and Drug Administration Wu Xiumei revealed that UBI Asia has completed the supplement, and an expert meeting will be held in the near future to review EUA application matters, emphasizing that everything has arrangements.

Huang Gaobin, the host of the Phase II COVID-19 Vaccine Trial Program of UBI Asia and the vice president of the China Medical University Affiliated Hospital, pointed out that he was originally a member of the review experts, but for the sake of fairness, he has withdrawn and was previously required to have the technology for the supplement. Data, such as manufacturing process, etc. The information provided for review also contains many T cell data that experts are concerned about, and everything is waiting for review.

Huang Gaobin also emphasized that if EUA can be obtained smoothly, since the original solution tank of UBI Asia is larger than 2000 l, one batch can produce up to one million doses, and the vaccine production capacity is not low.

UBI Asia has completed the first dose test for adolescents, the second dose this month

Reporter : Cai Shuyuan / https://news.ltn.com.tw/news/life/breakingnews/3630536

The domestic-made UBI Asia vaccine/UB-612 is currently undergoing emergency use authorization (EUA) review. At the same time, 400 people have been admitted to the Phase II clinical test for adolescents aged 12 to 18. The first dose was completed last month. This month, the second dose will be administered, and blood will be drawn for analysis next month. In addition, the elderly test has also been completed with satisfactory results.

Huang Gaobin, the host of the second phase of the clinical trial execution total drawing of UBI-612 Vaccine and the vice president of China Affiliated Hospital, said that UBI Asia has produced millions of UBI-612 which can be put on shelves for Chinese people once it passes the EUA.

Huang Gaobin pointed out that the neutralizing antibody titer of UB-612 is more than 100, and the vaccine effect depends on the T cell response. The T cell response of UB-612 includes stimulating the human body to produce interferon and producing antiviral protein. To protect the individual, it also stimulates activated B cells, produces neutralizing antibodies, and killer cells, which kills infected cells and reduces severe illness and death. Huang Gaobin said that UB-612 and Novavax are protein subunit vaccines. Both have similar vaccine protective effects.

Huang Gaobin said that UB-612’s test for the elderly has been completed, with a total of more than 600 people from 65 to 80 years old. The results are good, and the potency is only slightly lower than that of adults, but this is normal.

Huang Gaobin also said that once UB-612 passes the EUA, because the UBI Asia reaction tank is 2000 l, and millions of doses have been prepared, it can be put on shelves and sent to India. It is already waiting for our EUA to pass and they can start the third clinical test.

Consolidate the second island chain, Taiwan scholars expect U.S. troops to station in Palau

Reporter : Wang Xiang / Editor : Li Yuan / https://www.epochtimes.com/gb/21/8/14/n13162637.htm

Some Taiwan scholars analyzed that in order to respond to the CCP’s maritime military threats and diversify risks, the US military is likely to be stationed in Palau and other second island chain countries. The Voice of America reported that Taiwanese scholars analyzed that in order to deal with the CCP’s maritime military threats and diversify risks, the US military is likely to be stationed in Palau, the Pacific island chain country.

Palau President Surangel Whipps, Jr. visited the United States in early August and met with Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III. The two sides once again discussed the need for the US military to enter Palau.  and its possible deterrent effect on China (the CCP).

Palau President: The existence of the US military is deterrence

The cooperation between the United States and Palau has a long history. Palau is located in the Micronesia Islands in the western Pacific Ocean. It consists of 8 main islands and about 340 volcanic islands, with a population of about 20,000. Palau has been a member of the "Free Association Agreement" of the United States since its independence and founding. It does not have an army, and the military obligation to defend Palau is borne by the United States.

The former Palau President Tommy Remengesau first called for the United States to use the "Compact of Free Association" (COFA) when receiving a visiting former US Secretary of Defense Mark Esper in 2020. The mechanism is to deploy permanent US troops in Palau. At the same time, it also welcomes the US to build bases, ports, airports and other military facilities on the island.

During Surangel Whipps’ visit to the United States, although he did not directly invite the US military to set up a base in Palau, he still welcomes more US military activities there.

In his speech, he said that he personally watched the exercises conducted by the US special forces around Palau a few weeks ago, and was excited about the strength of the US military, which also made the people of Palau feel safe.

Surangel Whipps emphasized, "We always say that existence is deterrence, and we welcome more activities by the (US) military."

US Secretary of Defense Austin said in a speech that the United States firmly assumes the defense responsibilities entrusted by the "Free Association Agreement" and will strengthen the strategic partnership between the two countries to promote a free, open and safe region.

Austin thanked Palau for its willingness to accept the U.S. military and gave the U.S. military the opportunity to deploy equipment in Palau. He said that this strengthens the US military’s ability to perform joint operations and expands its deterrence against enemy forces. The U.S. military presence in Palau and the entire Pacific islands is very important to the common goal of partnership and prosperity between the two parties.

Consolidate the second island chain, Taiwan scholars expect U.S. troops to station in Palau

Regarding the military cooperation between the United States and Palau, Zhang Rongming, a postdoctoral researcher at the Decision-Making Center of the National Academy of Defense Security in Taipei, said in an interview with VOA that the Center for Strategic and Budgetary Assessments (CSBA) had proposed austerity. The concept of island chain advocates deploying multi-domain task force and land-based ground-to-sea and ground-to-air missiles on the islands of the first island chain’s defense chain to prevent enemy forces from breaking through the first island chain.

The first island chain is a defensive line that can block the CCP’s military expansion to the Western Pacific. It refers to the chain-shaped defensive line from the Japanese islands and the Ryukyu Islands in the north, Taiwan in the middle, and the Philippines and the Greater Sunda Islands in the south. The second island chain is located outside the first island chain and refers to the Japanese archipelago in the north, through the Ogasawara Islands, the volcanic islands, the Mariana Islands, the Yap Islands, and the Hamahera Islands in the south. Among them, Palau is located at the southern end of the second island chain.

Zhang Rongming said that the CCP’s medium and long-range missiles have been locked on to include the US military base in Guam. Therefore, the US military is aware of the importance of decentralized deployment. He said that Palau has many small islands, and it has already stated that it welcomes the establishment of bases by the US military. Therefore, it will be easier for the US military to obtain the right to use the small islands. If the US military is deployed on scattered small islands, it will not only be highly secretive, it will also not be easy to be locked.

He said that the defense concept of the first island chain can also be applied to the second island chain. Therefore, he predicted that the US military will deploy multi-domain forces in Palau.

Biden government favors water lily strategy, Palau can diversify risks

As for whether the US military has the opportunity to set up a military base in Palau, Zhang Rongming said that due to historical factors, the naval and air force bases that the US military can use on the second island chain are scarce. Currently, only the island and its neighboring Tianning Island are involved. These two US military bases are not enough to defend the entire second island chain. Therefore, If the United States cooperates with Palau, it can alleviate the urgent need for the second island chain to lack military bases.

However, Su Ziyun, director of the National Defense Strategy and Resources Research Institute of the National Defense Security Research Institute of Taiwan, holds a different view. He told VOA that the CCP’s Dongfeng-26B ballistic missile has threatened Guam’s military base and can also directly drive Palau. Therefore, the possibility of the US military building a large military base in Palau is not high.

He said that the deployment of small military forces in Palau, such as drones, unmanned ships, and unmanned submarines, is in line with the strategic thinking of the Biden administration.

Su Ziyun believes that the CCP’s Liaoning and Shandong ships are still "green water navy" that cannot sail far, but activities around the first island chain are no longer a problem. After the CCP's navy builds up its combat power on the Type 003 aircraft carrier, it can be regarded as a "blue water navy" that can achieve substantial meaning and can be used for expeditionary operations. Currently, it is generally estimated that the CCP’s military power may not break through the first island chain until 2025. Therefore, the United States currently only deploys alert forces on the second island chain in an attempt to deter the CCP’s continued expansion into the Western Pacific.

Su Ziyun believes that the Biden administration’s navy is more inclined to support the "Lily-Pad Strategy" rather than the restart of the Pacific First Fleet during the Trump era.

The water lily strategy is to lay out a wide range of small strongholds in the alliance, just like the blossoming water lilies all over the country. With these strongholds, the US military can flexibly jump to any target like a frog.

Su Ziyun said that the small islands of the second island chain are in line with the thinking of the US military's "water lily strategy" and can avoid the high risk of destroying major bases in Japan, Ryukyu, and Guam.

Front desk diplomat: Palau is looking for a position between the United States and China

Taiwan and Palau have diplomatic relations. Liu Shijie, a former Taiwanese diplomat who has been stationed in Palau for two years and director of the International Department of Time Force, told VOA that he believes that the United States should not set up a military base in Palau in the short term. First, there is a permanent engineering corps in the area. Second, it is not difficult to send troops from Guam or Hawaii to assist in the defense of Palau, unless the overall strategic situation changes, there is no need for the US military to send combat troops there.

He said that after Minister Esper visited Palau last year, Hui Shuren's return visit to the Pentagon this year should be a polite return visit. Liu Shijie also believes that although Palau welcomes the increased deployment of US troops there, it does not necessarily stand on the opposite side of China. Before the outbreak of the covid epidemic, Palau's economy relied on tourism for 90%, and more than half of the tourists came from China.

In addition, although Palau’s friendly relationship with the United States is unquestionable, it is not precise enough to equate the invitation to the US military to be pro-US. He said that Palau is a smart country and knows very well how to make ends meet in international geopolitics.

Liu Shijie said, "Some people describe Palauans as Jews in the Pacific. They are very good at doing business. A more accurate description should be that they know very clearly how to do business in the United States and China (Mainland) and find a position that suits their interests."

Exposure to Delta may become "long covid"? Zhang Shangchun: Most of the respiratory function is impaired

Reporter : Luo Qi / Image : Web Screenshot

Some foreign studies have shown that although Delta's mortality rate is low, 20% of patients will be uncomfortable for more than one month, which will evolve into "long covid."

Zhang Shangchun, the convener of the expert advisory group of the Central Epidemic Command Center, pointed out that since there are relatively few cases of Covi72 (for Delta variant) in Taiwan and most of them are imported from abroad, there is no difference between the long-term sequelae of Covi72 and Covi17.

Zhang Shangchun said that "long covid" has been proposed in foreign countries for a long time. This is mostly the symptoms of impaired respiratory function, especially in severe cases, the respiratory function is impaired, and the wheezing time will be longer, and some will have a sense of fatigue.  easy to get tired and so on.

Zhang Shangchun pointed out that foreign reports of "long covid" have various symptoms, and they may even last for a long period of time in recovered cases. However, the data also shows that the more slowly you go, the more you can get. The less come, and the Delta variant will have the same situation.

However, because there are still a few cases of Covi72 in Taiwan, mainly more than 10 local cases in Pingtung, as well as overseas immigration cases, so far there is no way to see whether there is a long-term sequelae difference between Covi72 patients and Covi17 patients. It remains to be observed for a long time.

Is the epidemic severe? Interpretation of the latest press conference of the National Health Commission

Reporter : Tian Yun / Editor : Gao Yi / https://www.epochtimes.com/gb/21/8/15/n13163312.htm / Image : STR/AFP via Getty Images

On 13 August 2021, the State Council’s Joint Prevention and Control Mechanism held a press conference. He Qinghua, inspector of the National Health Commission said that 36 cities have not reported new infections for more than 5 days. With the exception of Yangzhou, Wuhan and Zhangjiajie, other cities have only sporadic case reports. From this perspective, the national epidemic risk is generally controllable, and the risk of a large-scale epidemic at the national level is relatively small.

He claimed that the "national epidemic is controllable" was immediately reported in a prominent position by many mainland media, which clearly meant to stabilize people's hearts.

However, a little analysis of what He Qinghua said shows that the situation is not optimistic. First, does "total controllable" mean "partially uncontrollable" or "out of control"?

Second, "the risk of a large-scale epidemic at the national level is relatively small" has not ruled out this risk. The Chinese Communist Party appears to lack confidence and dare not speak up. It may also be that the relevant departments are leaving behind for themselves?

Third, as we all know, the CCP has always blocked and concealed all kinds of real information that is detrimental to its ruling image. The official numbers of infections and deaths reported by the authorities are not credible, and it is not surprising that local officials conceal the truth of the epidemic in the region for the sake of their political achievements. Therefore, will He Qinghua's claim that "no new infections have been reported in 36 cities for more than 5 days" and "sporadic cases in other cities" are true?

At the same press conference, National Health Commission spokesperson Mi Feng said, “As of now, the number of local confirmed cases nationwide has increased for 19 consecutive days, involving 16 provinces. There are currently 156 medium- and high-risk areas. my country is facing a short period of time. The complex situation of outbreaks from multiple sources and multiple locations."

This passage highlights the grim situation. The audience must ask: Is the epidemic situation in the mainland controllable on the whole or is it complicated and difficult to control?

According to CCP media, "As of 24:00 on 12 August, there have been local epidemics in 48 cities in 18 provinces across the country, with a total of more than 1,282 reported cases."

Considering the base number of 1.4 billion people, the proportion of 1282 cases is not high. However, judging from the official and local tensions of the CCP, the true situation is probably a secret that cannot be said.

He Qinghua said that the sources of infection all came from overseas. "Holding the barrier of overseas imports can minimize the risk of domestic epidemics."

How many people will believe these words? For more than a year and a half, the CCP has been trying to get rid of the responsibility for causing the plague. First, Zhao Lijian said that "the US military was carrying a virus", and then the authorities manipulated WHO investigators to rule out the possibility of laboratory leaks in the so-called report. Nowadays, the epidemic is emerging in many places at the same time, severely injuring the "great victory" of the CCP in its battle against the epidemic. Therefore, "overseas import" has become a shield.

He Qinghua also said that the normalized prevention and control measures in various places are scientific and effective. For more than a year, the epidemic prevention measures under the CCP's rule have been full of barbaric, anti-science, and anti-humanity. Some residents committed suicide due to forced isolation, and some children starved to death at home due to their parents being taken away. Discrimination, harassment, surveillance, violent law enforcement, economic extortion, swarming group testing and other abnormal or weird phenomena constituted This "normalization".

The CCP regards epidemic prevention as a work to prove the superiority of the socialist system and to prove the party's "great glory". The so-called compulsory “clearing” itself violates science. The punishment or removal of officials in areas where the epidemic is heating up will only cause local governments to conceal reports and fraud, and may lead to extreme methods to restrict people’s rights and control people’s rights in life.

At present, on the one hand, the CCP is under international pressure to trace the source of the virus. On the other hand, it is worried that it will lose the face of the Winter Olympics due to the epidemic. Therefore, it has to continue the anti-scientific path of "precautions against death."

However, the virus is alive and mobile. Will it be subject to the Communist Party's "man will conquer the sky"?

On 19 January 2020, Li Gang, director and chief physician of the Wuhan Center for Disease Control and Prevention, claimed to CCP media that the epidemic was “preventable and controllable.” This statement was also in the latest announcement of the Health Emergency Office of the National Health Commission of the Communist Party of China at that time. be confirmed.

However, the voice did not fall, and the epidemic broke out in Wuhan. Soon, the virus flew to many countries in the world with passengers departing from Wuhan, leading to a global plague pandemic. Nowadays, the press conference of the CCP’s Health Commission is also called “total controllable,” and its overtones are worrying.

Whether in China or the world, if people allow the CCP to spread lies, commit violence, and violate human rights, the shadow of the disaster caused by it will be difficult to wipe away.
