Out of second-degree infection. In this regard, Luo Yijun mentioned that according to the data, this ratio is actually not high, and the public need not worry too much. "Cerebral thrombosis" sequelae of the infection impairs memory. Command Centre: Very rare

Reporter : Wu Liangyi

According to the Command Centre, a 67-year-old man with a history of activities in Wanhua District of Taipei was diagnosed with covid. He was found to be hypoxic in the brain after examination. It is believed that the virus attacked the brain and caused thrombosis. The Central Epidemic Command Center pointed out that the more common one is after infection. There is pulmonary embolism, and cases of cerebral thrombosis are very rare.

After examination, he developed hypoxia in the brain and was considered a virus attack. The brain causes blood clots; the Central Epidemic Command Center pointed out that it is more common to have pulmonary embolism after infection, and cerebral thrombosis is very rare.

It was pointed out that this case later suffered memory decline. After returning to the hospital, he was found to have hypoxic lesions in the brain, and thrombosis in the brain affected his memory. Later, he was discharged from the hospital and returned to the outpatient clinic again. He found edema on his feet again. The kidney function and proteinuria were found to be good. It is estimated that the patient meets the sequelae of the covi syndrome.

Luo Yijun, deputy leader of the medical response team of the command center, said that cerebral thrombosis is very rare. It is more common to encounter vascular thrombosis in the lungs. This is more common in foreign countries, and there have been several cases in Taiwan but cerebral thrombosis is indeed very rare.

Diagnosed with covi cerebral thrombosis hypoxia! Wanhua Teahouse's 6-year-old male with amnesia "can't recognize his wife"

Editor : Zhang Yongling

The sequelae of covid reappears! The Wanhua District of New Taipei City was hit by the previous epidemic. According to media reports, a 60-year-old man with a history of activities in Wanhua’s Tea House experienced significant improvement in his lungs after one month of treatment but he cannot recognise his wife.

After a detailed examination, it was discovered that the man might have been attacked by the covi, causing blood clots in the brain, causing hypoxic lesions in the brain and loss of memory.

According to "ETtoday News Cloud", since the outbreak of the domestic epidemic in May, some patients recovered and returned home after isolation and treatment but there are also confirmed cases with severe sequelae, and according to Lin Jiamo, director of the respiratory intensive care unit of the Xinguang Hospital that treat such cases,  the 67-year-old man with a history of activities in the Wanhua Tea House was previously quarantined due to a history of activities in the teahouse, but was later sent to the hospital for treatment due to hypoxia.

At the time of the examination, the man had a pulmonary embolism in his lungs and his condition was very critical. Lin Jiamo said that he originally wanted to apply for remdesivir for his treatment, but after the command center assessed that he had passed the acute phase and failed to pass, he had to continue to provide drug treatments such as steroids, anti-inflammatory drugs, and antibiotics. Fortunately, the old man survived the danger smoothly and his lungs recovered well. However, he had symptoms of amnesia when he was discharged from the hospital.

Unexpectedly, when the man was about to be discharged from the hospital, he could not remember his wife when talking with his family. After further MRI examination, the hospital found that his brain has hypoxic lesions and thrombosis, which caused memory impairment.  Later, there was edema on the feet again but the renal function and proteinuria were good. Therefore, it is estimated that it is in line with the covi sequelae syndrome. The main cause may be that the covi attacks the blood vessel ACE2 receptor, which leads to systemic blood clots.

10 days in New Taipei empty window! He blasted Chen Shizhong’s "dream about vaccines" for fear of disappointing young people

Editor : Cai Minggen

Image : New Taipei City faces 10 sky windows , There is no vaccine to vaccinate. (Picture/TVBS)

Various counties and cities in the Chinese Republic  have been actively launching vaccine delivery operations recently, hoping to increase the vaccine coverage rate across Taiwan as soon as possible. New Taipei City held a press conference on the epidemic today (14). Deputy Mayor Liu Heran bluntly stated that the vaccines in New Taipei City had all been vaccinated by yesterday, and it is probably the same across the country. If enough vaccines are really prepared in the next 10 days. If they can continue to fight, the country can increase the coverage rate by more than 10%, and sigh "It's really a pity."

Liu Heran pointed out that since the central government has acknowledged the lack of vaccines, it should take this opportunity to suggest that the government should face the problem pragmatically and be optimistic about the success of domestic vaccines, but must gain the trust of the people, international standards and scientific verification. In addition to domestic vaccines, there are international certifications.

The vaccine of the United States should also come in as soon as possible. The Minister of Health and Welfare Chen Shizhong once said that "I dreamed of a vaccine in 3 days", while South Korea sent officials directly to the United States. After the dialogue, the effect was directly seen. Moderna immediately apologized and promised It will arrive as scheduled. He asked the government to "three requests". First, he asked the government to count the number of vaccines clearly. Depending on the number, the local government's decision-making will also change. Then, after the number is calculated, it is necessary to make it clear to the public not to have it every day. Different opinions will deplete the people’s trust in the government. The third is to implement them as soon as possible. If the contract is signed with an international vaccine company, and if the other party cannot deliver the goods on time, can they do it more actively?

Liu Heran bluntly said that people who are waiting for the second dose are waiting longer and longer, and the Taiwanese trusted the government at the beginning, but now those who choose Moderna do not know when it will be available, especially young people.

Chen Shizhong once called for hope. There is a direction for the 7th and 8th graders to start the treatment as soon as possible. Not to mention, young people are now very worried that only domestic vaccines will be able to fight in the future. He questioned whether domestic vaccines were promoted because of the lack of international vaccines, or the international vaccines were slowed down to become insufficient for the promotion of domestic vaccines. Such doubts would cause young people to lose their trust in Taiwan and called on the government to clarify the matter quickly.

In response to shared aircraft disturbance, Feng Shikuan once ordered: When the situation is critical, the Air Force commander is authorized to launch the first attack

Reporter : Luo Tianbin

The joint planes continuously invaded Taiwan airspace and seriously threatened Taiwan's national defense security. In addition to the announcement of the AIM-120 missile launched by F-16V fighters, the Air Force demonstrated its determination to defend national defense security. It also discussed the exercise of fighter pilots on many occasions and issues related to the "right to self-defense and counterattack."

According to a report by Military News Agency today, the current chairman of the Retirement Association, Feng Shikuan, during his tenure as the Minister of Defense, during an inspection of the Air Force Command Headquarters, clearly instructed the then Air Force Commander Shen Yiming, "If the situation is critical, fully authorize the Air Force Commander. When launching the first blow, we must not let our pilots be shot down."

Feng Shikuan, chairman of the Retirement Association, wrote an article in the August "Rongguang Biweekly-Dapeng's Essays" issued by the Association a few days ago, writing in memory of the former chief of staff, General Shen Yiming, who was unfortunately killed in the major flight safety incident last year. During the interview, the interaction between Feng Shikuan and Shen Yiming was further exposed.

According to a report by the Military News Agency, Chairman Feng Shikuan recalled that he had just taken up the post of Minister of National Defense and former Chief Shen served as Commander of the Air Force. When he first reported the personnel case to Feng, Commander Shen clearly explained the reasons for recommending the candidate, which impressed him deeply. He also changed the candidate in his mind and agreed to the personnel case recommended by Commander Shen.

The Military News Agency pointed out that Feng Shikuan also mentioned that the CCP’s aircraft and ships invaded Taiwan’s main island more and more frequently at that time. On one occasion, accompanied by Commander Shen, he went to the Air Works Department to learn about the CCP’s aircraft and ships. He immediately instructed "If the situation is critical, The commander of the Air Force is fully authorized to launch the first attack, and our pilots must not be shot down." Commander Shen also appropriately conveyed this instruction to the cadres of the Air Force wing.

Feng Shikuan said that later when he was inspecting the Air Force Wing, he asked the commander if he had conveyed instructions. The response he received was very satisfied. Not only did he convey what he wanted to express, but also let every pilot clearly understand what was behind the instructions. Meaning, this incident once again left Feng Shikuan with a very good impression of the name "Shen Yiming".

Military personnel have previously pointed out that the national army has clearly defined the "first strike" in the regulations as the "right to self-defense and counterattack." If our army is attacked, it must counterattack; if it enters a state of war, the military can also delegate powers and responsibilities. To the first-line commander, for example, the commander of the air operations department can order the pilots to carry out "self-defense counterattack rights."

Severe epidemic situation in Turkey, yet Taiwanese went sightseeing with betel nuts?

Editor : Lu Yongxin

A photo taken on 31 August 2017 shows a woman wrapping betel nuts in leaves in Nantou, central Taiwan. Since a 2003 study confirmed that betel nut is a carcinogen, although about 2 million people are still chewing betel nut according to government figures, its popularity has gradually declined. Betel nut stains the user's teeth blood red. It is still very popular among the working class in Taiwan, especially men, who rely on the irritation of betel nut to better cope with long-term physical labour. (Sam Yeh/AFP via Getty Images)

In Turkey, when the epidemic was at its worst, even local people avoided traveling within the country. Recently, many Taiwanese people went to Turkey for "sightseeing" but were arrested for bringing betel nuts into Turkey. Turkey believes that the arecoline contained in betel nut is a drug. Although the timing of travel is difficult to understand, similar cases are emerging endlessly.

The Central News Agency reported that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of China stated in a press release on 13 August 2021 that since March, it has received reports from the representative office in Turkey on Taiwanese custody cases".

The Turkish judiciary determined that the detained Taiwanese were guilty of "importing drugs or stimulant substances" (Uyuşturucu veya Uyarıcı Madde İthal Etme Şuçu) regulated in Article 188 of the Turkish Criminal Law.

The Turkish criminal law does not explicitly mention betel nut, but because arecoline has an exciting effect, it is classified as a prohibited substance by the authorities. According to the provisions, the production, import and export of drugs are punishable by imprisonment of not less than 20 years but not more than 30 years; “Anyone who buys, sells, supplies, delivers, distributes, transports, stores, buys, accepts, or carries without permission or violates permission may be punished fixed-term imprisonment of more than 10 years".

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reminded Chinese citizens not to bring betel nuts into the country for business travel in Turkey to avoid breaking the law.

The covid epidemic in Turkey began to break out rapidly in March. After the authorities lifted many anti-epidemic bans on 2 March, the number of confirmed cases, the number of deaths, and the number of critically ill patients immediately became "three highs", and the authorities had to resume a number of restrictive measures starting 29 March 2021. Since 7 April, the number of confirmed cases has even surpassed 50,000 in consecutive days. On 13 April, the Turkish government began to implement a two-week local blockade on the first day of Ramadan.

When the local epidemic is the most severe, even the Turks themselves avoid it, and even cannot travel within the country due to the policy blockade. Why do those Taiwanese who “have an accident” have to travel to Turkey at this time?

At the same time, the emergency contact number of the Republic of China representative office in Turkey often received calls for help from family members who claimed to have brought betel nuts into the country and were detained in Turkey. However, when the representative office wanted to confirm the relationship between the seeker and the client or the actual experience, and tried to further help seek assistance in Turkey, the other party hesitated instead, and many help cases were not resolved. Such a development inevitably makes people feel the suspicion that "Leader Li frowned and realized that the case is not simple."

According to those who call emergency calls, some of their detained "family members" are even under the age of 20. Just imagine, "Taiwanese young people, may not speak native language, in Turkey where English is often unsuccessful, the epidemic is raging, and there are a lot of betel nuts in their suitcases." Will these keywords be a weird combination?

In May 2021, there were two incidents of Taiwanese people arguing on the Turkish social page, which made people think of the aforementioned "betel nut case".

Turkey’s state-run Anadolu Agency reported on 24 May 2021 that Istanbul police cracked a game fraud website and detained 115 people, among which Taiwanese were involved.

The Turkish Gendarmerie Command announced on 26 May that it had cracked an Internet telecommunications fraud group that "targeted Taiwanese citizens". The Constitutional Order tweeted at the time: "Rescue 33 Taiwanese victims who entered my country through human trafficking." According to information, the Taiwanese in the second case told the Turkish law enforcement authorities that they had fallen into the trap of humans and snakes and were under control. Therefore, they are treated as "victims."

In the past, there have been cases where a Taiwanese fraud group set up its computer room in Turkey and was cracked.

In May 2016, Turkish security units arrested 81 suspects from Taiwan and China. They were hiding in a mansion in Izmir in the west, suspected of defrauding people in Taiwan and China by telecommunications. According to the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) Chinese website at the time, 52 of the 81 arrested were Taiwanese.

In fact, Turkey, a major tourist country, has simple entry measures, a comfortable living environment, and Turkish Airlines operates direct flights between Taipei (Taoyuan) and Istanbul. These benefits have recently made the local area a target of illegal groups, and may even use Turkey as a base to deploy to neighboring countries. The development trend includes the Republic of North Macedonia and the Republic of Georgia. Taiwanese criminals who have been organized into groups have been expelled because of the case this year.

The representative of Turkey, Huang Zhiyang, told the Central News Agency reporter yesterday that Turkey, which is rich in tourism resources, welcomes Taiwanese people to travel, but the activities of a few criminals in Turkey may affect Taiwan’s image. He emphasized that the relevant Turkish authorities are closely monitoring and monitoring related activities, reminding the people of Taiwan not to try the law.

The Chinese version of "The Secret Records of Lee Teng-hui" written by the Japanese "Sankei Shimbun" commentator Kawasaki Masumi on the 1st anniversary of the death of former President Lee Teng-hui will be held this afternoon with a new book launch meeting with Lee Teng-hui. The very friendly former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe recently published a memorial article that recalled the words of former President Lee’s kind smile and strong handshake, unwavering love and mission towards Taiwan, and warm expectations for Japan, which are still unforgettable.

This new book was published by Qianwei Publishing House at the end of July. Lee Teng-hui’s daughter Li Anni wrote a special preface and recommended that the Japanese version of "The Secret Records of Lee Teng-hui" was sent to President Rong’s ward before his father rested in his arms. Now the Chinese version is released on the first anniversary of his death. , "All this is God's arrangement."

Li Anni said that the Japanese version of "The Secret Records of Lee Teng-hui" was prefaced by her father Li Teng-hui himself. It was the last essay written by him in his life. She did not expect that she would write a recommendation preface for the book a year later; Women can "in the same frame" in such a wonderful way, "I am sure this is God's arrangement."

Li Anni emphasized in the preface that Lee Teng-hui was very active in promoting relations between Taiwan and Japan. Although Taiwan and Japan still have no formal diplomatic relations, "Taiwan-Japan friendship" is no longer an empty slogan, but a portrayal of facts. Although there are still some unresolved issues and disputes between the two countries, just like two good friends occasionally disagree, the solid friendship will never disappear easily.

Chen Yishen, Li Anni, curator of the National History Museum, and others attended the new book launch event held at the National History Museum in the afternoon. In his memorial essay to Lee Teng-hui, Shinzo Abe pointed out that the former President Lee has contributed a lot to the good relations and friendship between Japan and Taiwan, and often has special feelings for Japan. "Mr. Value and build the foundation of today's Japan-Taiwan relationship, who will show deep respect."

China Coup: The Great Fall of Beijing
By : John Mac Ghlionn

Xi Jinping is a modern-day tyrant. A number of world leaders would love nothing more than to see the leader of China removed from office. For that to happen, a coup is necessary.

According to Roger Garside, a man who spent years working as a diplomat in China, the days of the one-party dictatorship may be coming to an end. In his latest book, “China Coup: The Great Leap to Freedom,” Garside argues that, contrary to popular belief, Xi Jinping may very well be removed from office “in a coup d’état mounted by rivals in the top leadership.” Shortly after the removal of Xi, the leaders of the coup will bring an end to “China’s one-party dictatorship and launch a transition to democracy and the rule of law.”

As far-fetched as this might sound, Garside believes that the West can help the Chinese people remove Xi from office.

In a telling interview with Voice of America (VOA), Garside suggests that “the U.S. and its allies” have a distinct advantage over China. Now, though, their “economic superiority” must be leveraged “to bring about regime change.”

Although Joe Biden, Boris Johnson, Emmanuel Macron, and other world leaders can’t “decide from outside how China shall be governed,” there are a number of individuals “within China” who want to bring about change. It is up to America and its Western allies to “help those people” and “work to bring about conditions in which they can achieve what they want.”

Garside believes that if “China’s second-ranking official,” Li Keqiang, along with “like-minded leaders,” were to challenge the leader, “they would not be without public support.” Is Garside accurate in his beliefs? As someone who has covered Chinese affairs extensively, I think so. Xi Jinping is effectively a king without a crown. If history (and Game of Thrones) has taught us anything, it’s that a king’s position is always under threat. To quote Shakespeare, “uneasy is the head that wears a crown.” If Garside’s assumptions prove to be correct, a Shakespearean tragedy awaits Xi.

Removing Xi

There is more than one way to remove Xi. British politician Clive Lewis once said, rather accurately, that a coup needn’t be a coup d’état. The removal of a tyrant “doesn’t always require tanks on a lawn and senior ranking military types appearing on your TV and radio.” Although, considering China’s history, violence would most certainly play a role. For an effective coup to occur, be it violent or otherwise, the people must be mobilized. This shouldn’t be a problem. In February, Xi announced that the Chinese regime had successfully defeated extreme poverty; the evidence, however, suggests otherwise. Around 600 million Chinese, or almost half the country’s population, live on less than $5 a day. As events in South Africa have clearly demonstrated, desperate people are capable of desperate things. Right now, in China, hundreds of millions of people are desperate. As the gap between the rich and poor continues to grow, it would be foolish of Xi to expect the Chinese people, especially the more rebellious youth, to sit idly by.

Should Xi be worried? Most definitely. According to a recent Geopolitical Futures report, “the decline of China’s competitiveness in the export market” is a reality that the leader must reckon with. High unemployment, already a major issue in the country, will become a “significant challenge to the Chinese president.” The authors suggest that the regime “will attempt to survive the economy’s downward spiral” by doing the one thing, and the only thing, it knows how to do: by “tightening its grip on power and sliding back into dictatorship.” Although this method has worked in the past, it won’t work in the future. As the report states,“the regional divergences in China are too widespread and not easily suppressed by dictatorship.” By 2040, “China will see a return to regionalism, accompanied by turmoil.” With China’s weakening grip, both at home and abroad, “a power vacuum will emerge in East Asia, which will be filled by Japan.”

Xi would do well to read this report, because it outlines a future in which both he and China fail. If the country spirals into chaos, Xi will be held responsible. He will also face the wrath of 1.4 billion people, many of whom have been left behind. What lies in store for the leader remains to be seen, but let’s hope Garside’s prognostications prove to be accurate.

In China, through the dissemination of non-stop propaganda, Xi, to a large extent, has a monopoly on truth. But he doesn’t have a monopoly on geopolitical and economic realities. With China’s population still growing, and less food to go around, existential crises await the nation. The people are restless, opportunities are scarce, and tensions are mounting. If the Chinese people are to have a better future, a coup is most definitely required.
