Diesel exhaust emission is the number 1 cause of non-smoker lung cancer in cities today. Take cue from Taiwan's experience to lower non-smoker lung cancer rates.

News (1)

Air pollution and processed foods cause the number of non-smokers with lung cancer to increase annually

In the past, smoking was considered to be the main cause of lung cancer, but in the past 30 years, the national smoking rate of Taiwan has dropped by 60%, but lung cancer has increased year by year. The team of Yang Panchi, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Research, studied lung cancer patients who did not smoke and found that air pollution and processed foods were added. Such environmental carcinogens have a high degree of impact on human genes. This study was later published in top international journals.

News (2)

Taiwan smoking rate has dropped over the past 10 over years

In the past, lung cancer was thought to be mainly caused by smoking, but the current situation has changed. According to the National Health Agency, the smoking rate of men in Taiwan has dropped from 60% in 1990 to 23.1% in 2020; the smoking rate of women, Thirty years ago, it was 3.8%, and now it is 2.9%, which has always been low. The overall national smoking rate has dropped by 60% from 32.5% to 13% in 2020.

News (3)

The number of people in Taiwan suffering from lung cancer has increased since 1990

But looking at the number of people suffering from lung cancer, the number of people suffering from lung cancer has not decreased because of the sharp drop in smoking rates. In 1990, 2,944 people in Taiwan had lung cancer, and the number has increased year by year. By 2014, there were more than 12,000 people in the country, and more than 13,000 people in 2015 and 2016. By 2018, more than 15,000 people had lung cancer.

More lung cancer patients never smoke while more pneumonia patients smoke

Yang Panchi, academician of the Academia Sinica, said, "There are more lung cancer patients that do not smoke now than smokers. If we look at pneumonia patients, we will ask whether you have smoked or not. More than half of those who do not smoke are those who smoke. On the contrary, 53% of lung cancer patients did not smoke and 47% smoked, so this problem is quite special and serious."

Analysis of lung cancer types is more related to smoking. Small cell carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma have declined in proportion; however, lung adenocarcinoma, which has a relatively small relationship with smoking, accounts for the proportion of all types of lung cancer. For men, it has risen from 25% a few years ago to 58%; for women, it has risen from 39% to 88%. The data is quite alarming.

Mutation characteristics of a group of enzymes in the human body cause lung adenocarcinoma, 74% of young people who never smoke have lung cancer

In order to clarify the pathogenic mechanism of non-smokers with lung cancer, research conducted by Professor Yang Panchi from the Institute of Chemistry of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Professor of Internal Medicine at National Taiwan University School of Medicine and others have made major breakthroughs. This study, published in the top international journal Cell, analyzed 103 lung cancer patients and found that lung adenocarcinoma is closely related to the mutation characteristics of a group of enzymes in the human body. Among cancer patients, 74% of young people who have never smoked are women, and all women without lung cancer "epidermal growth factor receptor" driver mutations, have a high degree of mutations in this enzyme in their bodies. Research has also found that genetic mutations caused by exposure to carcinogens have more affected older women.

Carcinogens of air pollution and chemical drugs in food preservatives turn cells into cancer cells

Yang Panchi, academician of the Academia Sinica, said: "When certain environmental carcinogens cause these injuries, they turn cells into cancer cells. After normal cells turn into cancer cells, their genes will produce some special, special marks, and special marks will come out. So what we see are older people who have changed with the carcinogens of this environment, which are more related. It is related to some of the air pollution, the carcinogens in it, and the chemical drugs in the food preservatives. Chemical drugs are related to chemical agents."

Lung cancer may be related to what air pollution. Yang Panchi also reminded the health hazards of air pollution, not just lung cancer.

Yang Panchi said, "Air pollution causes the most damage to humans. It is cerebrovascular disease and cardiovascular disease. Stroke and cardiovascular disease are two, far more than lung cancer, so air pollution lung cancer is one. Air pollution can explain the increase in lung cancer."

News (7)

Taiwan needs to carry out security checks and control exhaust simultaneously

In order to reduce air pollution, in addition to checking fixed pollution sources, that is, emissions from industrial areas, mobile pollution sources are also very important. In Kaohsiung, there are more than 30,000 large diesel vehicles moving along the roads every day, and we see the diesel vehicles that are constantly emitting black smoke on the road. Now the central (Taiwan) government does not have a regular exhaust gas inspection system for large diesel vehicles.

Cai Mengyu, Director of the Air Security Division of the Environmental Protection Agency, said, "In the Ministry of Transport, there are security checks on vehicles, safety inspections, inspections of one of his entire vehicles, these safety devices or some brake systems, etc. Our responsibility is reducing exhaust. We are discussing with the Ministry of Transport and I hope that the two things, security check and exhaust, can be carried out at the same time."

The government must come up with a solution as soon as possible. There are many large diesel vehicles in industrial counties and cities, which makes air quality worse.

After the vehicle drove into the diesel vehicle power meter exhaust gas detection station, the inspector fixed the car body with a chain to avoid shaking.

Image : Web Screenshot

Inspector said, "We are mainly responsible for blowing off the deposits because the exhaust pipe has some carbon deposits. So we need  to follow the current current inspection method and step on it three times."

After that, put the sampling gun in the exhaust pipe, and wait until you step on the accelerator to detect the opacity of the car, that is, the concentration of black smoke. Vehicles in different periods have different thresholds, and if they exceed them, they will be fined. The diesel vehicles that will be inspected may be environmental inspectors who visually judge smoke on the side of the road, or the public may report them, and there may also be vehicles that want to obtain a self-management mark.

News (8)

Cities should pay attention to mobile pollution sources

In fact, metropolitan counties and cities should also pay attention to mobile pollution sources.

Taipei City has set up the country's first metropolitan air quality maintenance zone, which includes the city hall, Taipei and Nangang, and three transportation stations. There are also 6 tourist attractions such as Yangmingshan Park, Forbidden City, Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall, Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall, Martyrs’ Shrine, and Building 101. As long as it is diesel, large vans or small trucks entering the empty zone, they must obtain a superior self-management standard. Otherwise, it will be fined once it is caught by the license plate recognition system.

News (9)

Controlling and maintaining air quality is critical

Yang Meihua, head of the Air Pollution and Noise Control Section of the Taipei City Environmental Protection Bureau, said, "Our idea is actually modeled on a foreign approach. Like Paris or London in other countries, Taipei has a painting design similar to low-pollution control zones. Because there are no large factories in Taipei City, the mobile pollution source is vehicle exhaust, which is one of the main sources of air pollution. Moreover, the density of our entire vehicles is about 10 times higher than that of Taiwan. At present, (the central government) has not implemented relevant regular inspections. Therefore, for the benefit of county and city governments, we increase the rate of acceptance of diesel vehicles. Therefore, there will be the paintings I just mentioned, the air quality maintenance area. It is a compulsory means."

News (10)

Diesel exhaust is the first-class carcinogen now

Diesel exhaust has been listed as a first-class carcinogen by the WHO. Vehicles are around us. Lung cancer is an invisible killer. It eats up people’s health and is a source of pollution that easily endangers the human body. All governments need to strictly control it.

Shuangbei reported 5,600 unmasking cases since the third level of alert! Untied masks, "free heart testimony," threatens to harass the people and cause the police to be exhausted. No new local cases in Taiwan for 5 days

Reporter : Li Yuyu

On 3 October 2021, the Central Epidemic Command Centre announced that the mask policy will be loosened from 5 October. When activities in "mountains and forests" and "shores", include forest recreation areas, agriculture, forestry, fishery and animal husbandry workers in open places, such as fields resume, people do not need to wear masks when working in places such as Yuyuan, and mountain forests. However, Commander Chen Shizhong also reminded that masks should be worn with them, and if crowds gather, they should be worn. The loosening policy seems to be too "general." Many people think that the central government’s words are unclear and the standards are vague. Such an approach seems to also affect the front-line police officers who perform proscribed duties. There are constant reports of chaos but the police, without a clear basis, is simply "unable to perform their duties."

The director of a police station in the area with seaside games and forest trails explained that since the second level of alert and the epidemic slowed down, the number of people has increased significantly, especially during the four-day Mid-Autumn Festival holiday in September, which was often received. Residents on the beach reported that tourists came to play in the water but did not wear masks. The police will answer up to 20 whistleblowing calls a day but after arriving, many people will put on masks as soon as they see the police, and then take them off when the police leave. This loophole is like playing "peek-a-boo" with the police.

Now face masks loosen. The command center only stated that masks are not required for "seaside activities", but "is there too much crowds?" and "is the location empty?" It seems that people need to be free to verify and decide whether to wear them or not. The new masking rule may greatly increase the difficulty of law enforcement for the police.

The grass-roots police pointed out, "How can the mountains and seasides be opened up without detailed explanation?" In the future, if people who don’t wear masks are banned, they will face a great backlash, so they still hope that there will be a detailed guideline. In this way, there will be no room for ambiguity for the police and the public, otherwise there is no basis for the ban, and eventually the frontline police will be exhausted.

The command centre also announced on 4 October 2021 that there are no new local cases, and there have been no local confirmed cases for 5 consecutive days since 30 September 2021.

Since 30 September, there has been no increase in local cases, and the number of deaths has remained in single digits or no one has died. As the epidemic slowed down, the command center announced conditions to open some leisure and entertainment venues, including video games and information leisure venues, MTV and KTV. Outdoors are also open for people no need to wear masks for mountain climbing and beach activities.

Do I need to wear a mask if I’m not in the mountains? Chen Shizhong: That's right

Reporter : Chen Yufu / https://news.ltn.com.tw/news/life/breakingnews/3692432

The Central Epidemic Command Centre recently announced that it is necessary to wear masks for hiking and beachcombing. Chen Shizhong stated in the Legislative Yuan’s Finance Committee today that there have been very few cases in the community, and it is necessary to not wear masks in the mountains and forests. Maintaining social distancing allows people to make their own judgments. Some legislators asked, "If you don’t need to wear a mask in the mountains and forests, do you need to wear a mask if you are not in the forests? Chen Shizhong responded, "Yes."

DPP legislator Shen Fahui said in a question that the regulations on wearing masks are about to be loosened in the open areas of mountains and seas, but everyone has doubts. The loosening of the masks allows everyone to judge for themselves that there is less crowds and can maintain safe distance. The most important thing is that the epidemic is slowing down.

Shen Fahui pointed out, "Can it be changed to list the places where masks must be worn on the front so that the police can have a basis for law enforcement?" Chen Shizhong responded that he has such a plan, and it has not yet reached such a time. It is necessary to make a positive list before he wears a mask, and he must wait until the vaccine arrives.

Kuomintang legislator Li Guimin also asked if you don’t need to wear a mask when you go to the sea. In the mountains and forests, the people can decide for themselves. If they are not in the mountains and forests, they must wear a mask. Chen Shizhong said "Yes."

Chen Zongyan, deputy commander of the Central Epidemic Command Center, announced today that considering that the domestic epidemic has slowed down and is under stable control, it will be maintained from 5 to 18 October 2021 after communication and evaluation with relevant units. The epidemic alert standard is the second level but relevant regulations and principles have been adjusted.

1. Comply with the regulations on epidemic prevention and management of the competent authority to be open, and follow relevant norms or guidelines:

1. Electronic game venues, information leisure venues, video tape broadcasting venues (MTV), audio-visual singing venues (self-service KTV and telephone booth KTV), board games, mahjong leisure hall business venues.

2. Religious sacrifices:

(i) Conditionally open incense group and banquet activities.

(ii) Seating in religious sacrificial places is not limited to plum blossom seats.

3. Catering: Use unlimited partitions or 1.5-m spacing inside. Banquets are open to leave the table for toasting (tea) and other social interactions; relax table dishes and self-service restaurants.

4. Superstore: Cooked foods such as tea eggs, oden, etc. are not limited to being sold by the staff.

5. If the TV anchor can maintain a proper safe distance with other staff members, she need not wear a mask during the official filming.

(ii). Starting from 5 October 2021, those under the following conditions will be allowed to wear masks outdoors:

1. Agriculture, forestry, fishery and animal husbandry workers work in open areas (such as fields, fish farms, mountains and forests). They do not need to wear masks but they should carry masks with them and keep social distance with others.

2. In mountain forests (including forest recreation areas) and beach activities, you do not need to wear a mask, but you should carry a mask with you and keep social distance with others.

3. In the above-mentioned situations, if there is a gathering of people or working or activities with others, you should still wear a mask.

4. If the competent authority has other regulations, it will be handled in accordance with its regulations.

3. Places still to be closed include karaoke lounges, dance halls, nightclubs, clubs, restaurants, bars, hotels (galleries), and salons (for sightseeing, hairdressing, audio-visual treatments).

The command centre reminded that, with the exception of the above-mentioned exceptions, you should still wear masks, implement the system, and maintain a safe social distance when you go out; business places and public areas should still be subject to crowd control or total volume control; the upper limit of the number of people in gatherings is also maintained according to original regulations.

The command centre will continue to observe the epidemic situation, moderately relax control measures, and strengthen border surveillance and epidemic prevention. The people are urged to implement personal protective measures and actively cooperate with various epidemic prevention measures to take into account both epidemic prevention and quality of life.

Trump encourages Republicans not to support Democrat plan and warns doing so will push the U.S. towards socialism

Former President Donald Trump pressured Republicans not to support President Joe Biden's agenda in a sentence-long statement sent out Sunday.

'The Democrat plan, if approved at any level, will push our Country towards socialism!' Trump said.

The ex-president was likely referring to the $3.5 trillion budget bill Democrats continue to negotiate - though are expected to pass without Republican support.

That bill contains a number of liberal goodies including climate change provisions, universal pre-K, child care assistance, tuition-free community college, paid medical and family leave, the extension of the child tax credit and enhanced Medicare coverage.

Senate Democrats will use the process of reconciliation in the Senate to bypass the filibuster - when 60 votes are needed.

Still, Biden has had trouble getting every Democratic senator on board, with the primary hold-outs being Sen. Kyrsten Sinema of Arizona and Sen. Joe Manchin of West Virginia.

Trump could also be trying to tank Biden's bipartisan infrastructure bill.

That $1.2 trillion piece of legislation already passed the Senate but is being held up in the House by progressives - who want moderate Democrats to vote for the larger, $3.5 trillion package.

House Democrats could pass this bill unilaterally too, but it was initially expected to get some Republican support.

In the Senate, the infrastructure bill passed 69-30.

With the infrastructure bill already out of the Senate - and Democrats planning to use reconciliation to pass the other Biden bill - Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell is using a needed debt ceiling vote to put pressure on the process.

Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen said the U.S. will be unable to pay its bills starting October 18 if Congress fails to act.

Trump has repeatedly told Republicans not to offer Biden any help.

'It is a loser for the USA, a terrible deal, and makes the Republicans look weak, foolish, and dumb,' Trump said in a July statement, trying to convince GOP senators not to cross the aisle and vote in favor of infrastructure.

Trump boasts that every other Republican would drop out of the race if he ran for President in 2024

Former President Trump is so confident of being the GOP nominee he has said that if he runs again for president, most other Republicans would 'drop out.'

Trump bragged that if he were to run against Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, whose popularity has has soared during the pandemic, for the 2024 GOP nomination, he would easily 'beat him'.

'If I faced him, I'd beat him like I would beat everyone else,' he said.

'I don't think I will face him,' Trump said during the interview. 'I think most people would drop out, I think he would drop out.'

Trump made the prediction during an interview with Yahoo Finance.

The former president, who lost the 2020 general election, still remains popular and has a lot of influence among Republican voters and GOP politicians as he toys with the idea of a third run at the presidency.

'It's getting to a point where we really have no choice' Trump said last month about him running.

On September 11th he gave an even clearer indication that he was considering running once again.

'I know what I'm going to do, but I'm not supposed to be talking about it yet from the standpoint of campaign finance laws, which, frankly, are ridiculous,' he said.

Trump, who will be 78 in 2024, is the front-runner early polls for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination race.

When polls are conducted without Trump's name on the ballot, DeSantis and former Vice President Mike Pence often come out at the top of a large group of contenders.

In one recent survey, DeSantis and Trump were virtually tied.

A poll commissioned by a Super PAC of former Trump aide John Bolton, found Trump drew in 26.2 percent of support with DeSantis at 25.2 percent.

But other polls paint Trump in a far more popular light with him pulling in 67% of the vote compared to 10% for DeSantis when pitched against six other candidates.

It remains early in the presidential process as both parties focus on next year's midterm election. No GOP White House contender has formally announced and even former President Trump is still playing it coy about whether he will seek a second term.

But, in June, Trump told Fox News that if he did run again he would consider putting DeSantis on the ticket over Pence.

'Sure I would … I would certainly consider Ron,' Trump told Fox Business' Stuart Varney. 'I know him very well. He's a great guy,' Trump said.

DeSantis is a first-term governor and a close Trump ally. Trump endorsed his gubernatorial campaign and hosts him frequently at Mar-a-Lago, his private club in Palm Beach.

DeSantis' popularity grew during the course of the pandemic thanks to his reluctance to impose COVID-19 restrictions including mask mandates.

His contrarian view seemed to resonate with Republican voters in the state

DeSantis, meanwhile, is not taking any questions on speculative runs for 2024, still three years away.

'I'm not considering anything beyond doing my job,' he told Fox News last week.

'We've got a lot of stuff going on in Florida. I'm going to be running for reelection next year and we're also working on a lot of things in the state beyond just the governor's race,' the governor said.

Trump had Pfizer vaccine before exiting from White House and will get booster shot if necessary

Former President Donald Trump has revealed he got Pfizer's covid vaccine before leaving office - and that he may get a booster shot if he thinks it is necessary.

Trump had not previously announced which vaccine he had received. He and then-First Lady Melania got the shot in January before Trump left office, but did not reveal he had been vaccinated until March.

His revelation that he would be willing to get a booster came despite him telling supporters last month that he 'probably wouldn't' get the third shot.

The former president had also accused the Food and Drug Administration of favoring Pfizer and Moderna after officials paused distribution of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine in April.

In an interview with Yahoo Finance Live published Saturday, Trump said: 'Well, I got the Pfizer and I would have been very happy with any of them.'

Trump contracted covid last fall at the height of the 2020 presidential campaign.

'I had it, recovered from it pretty well. I don't think I had it like the press, like the media said, you know, they would try to make it difficult,' the former president told Yahoo. 'It's not pleasant, but I had it.'

Two months later, a presidential aide told the New York Times that the pair had been inoculated after Trump encouraged attendees to get vaccinated for the first time during his Conservative Party Action Committee speech, "Go get your shot.'

Trump told Yahoo News that he might get a covid booster shot 'if I feel it is necessary and let's see where this whole thing is going.'

The Trump administration put US$18 billion towards Operation Warp Speed to develop and distribute vaccines including Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson, although Pfizer developed its vaccine without governmental financial backing.

The CCP military aircraft harassed Taiwan for three consecutive days starting on 1 October 2021, accumulating nearly a hundred sorties to invade Taiwan’s southwest air defense identification zone. The Air Force Command of the Republic of China issued a video "Defend Airspace, Never Compromise", emphasizing that enemy planes will never be allowed to leapfrog.
According to the "Real-time Military Updates" zone of the Ministry of National Defense of the Republic of China, the news of the shared aircraft was announced. The CCP dispatched 38 aircraft on the 1st (28 F-16s, 4 Sukai 30s, 4 H6s, 1 Y-8 anti-submarine aircraft and 1 Air Police 500 early warning aircraft), and 39 aircrafts (26 F-16s) on the 2nd. , 10 Su Kai 30, 2 Yun 8 anti-submarine aircraft, 1 Aerial Police 500 early warning aircraft), 16 aircraft in total on the 3rd (8 F-16s, 4 Su Kai 30, 2 Yun 8 anti submarine aircraft and 2 Aerial Police 500 early warning aircraft) ), to invade Taiwan’s Southwest Air Defense Identification Zone (ADIZ).
The Taiwan Air Force dispatched air patrol troops to respond, carry out broadcast drive away and anti-aircraft missile tracking and monitoring. According to the information published on the “Taiwan Southwest Airspace” Facebook fan page, in 2021, a total of 200 aircraft entered Taiwan’s airspace and a total of 590 evictions were broadcast. The Ministry of National Defense announced that it will enter Taiwan’s airspace for a total of 169 days and 604 sorties in 2021.
The Air Force Command released a video "Defend the Airspace, Never Compromise" on Facebook's fan group. In the film, there are Air Force F-16 fighters flying in the dark to monitor the common aircraft, and the national army officers and soldiers are monitoring the air in the E-2K early warning aircraft. Picture.
The Air Force also issued a document stating that the Air Force God of War, Gao Zhihang, once said: “As the Air Force, how can we let enemy aircraft fly over us!” He also said that in the face of frequent actions of shared aircraft disrupting Taiwan and disrupting regional peace, it will only increase in vain. The public is disgusted and the situation of tension and confrontation between the two sides of the strait.
The famous anti-Japanese general Gao Zhihang (1907~1937) led the fourth group Hawke III group aircraft in Jianqiao in 1937 and faced 19 96 heavy bombers of the Kisarazu Air Force, resulting in an unprecedented victory of 6 to zero. Gao Zhihang has since been hailed as the "God of War of the Air Force," and the Government of the Republic of China declared August 14th as the "Air Force Day."
The Air Force emphasizes that the Republic of China Air Force will never compromise! "We stay at our posts day and night, strictly monitor our actions, and never allow enemy aircraft to overstep the thunder pool. Our determination to guard the airspace of the Republic of China and defend national sovereignty remains unwavering.

Earlier last month, the first batch of F-35C fighters of the U.S. Navy were deployed on aircraft carriers, following the aircraft carriers to the Pacific Ocean and performing exercises in the Southern Navy. The U.S. Marine Corps F-35C fighter squadron is also preparing for the deployment of its aircraft carrier. A Marine Corps pilot of the squadron said that the F-35C is a “game changer” and that the F-35C makes the U.S. aircraft carrier even better. Lethality.
The Pentagon is looking for new methods of warfare in the South China Sea and the Philippine Sea. In this area, the air bases of the United States and allies are few and far apart, and their flight operations are threatened by the Chinese Communists.
The Carl Vinson Fleet (VINCSG), the first carrier battle group to deploy F-35C Lightning II stealth fighters, left San Diego last month for the Pacific Ocean. In early September, the Carl Vinson Aircraft Carrier Strike Group and the Second Vessel Aviation Wing (CVW 2) carried out drills in the South China Sea to maintain free and open Indo-Pacific waters and support the security and stability of the region.
The Pacific Fleet stated that this marked the first military operation of an aircraft carrier battle group in the South China Sea and was equipped with the advanced capabilities of the F-35C Lightning II stealth fighter and the Navy CMV-22B Osprey transport aircraft.

The Marine Corps' first F-35C attack squadron will be deployed to aircraft carriers in 2022
"Business Insider" recently reported that the Marine Corps is also stepping up its aircraft carrier deployment process. The Marine Corps’ first F-35C fighter attack squadron (VMFA 314, Marine Corps 314th fighter attack squadron) "Black Knights," Also known as the Black Knight) achieved full combat capability in July this year, and is now preparing for the first aircraft carrier deployment.
As part of the 9th Carrier Aircraft Wing, the squadron is conducting long-term training aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln and Naval Air Station Fallon, Nevada. It is expected to start at the beginning of next year. Deployed on the aircraft carrier.
Fallon Naval Air Station is also home to TOP GUN, the fighter weapon school of the Navy's elite air combat school.

Marine Corps pilots prefer to fly F-35C
Pilot Mark Dion of the 314th Fighter Strike Squadron transitioned from flying an F/A-18 Super Hornet to flying an F-35. He told "Business Insider" that the fifth-generation fighter was definitely what he wanted to drive. s plane. He said, "The capabilities of the F-35C far exceed the F/A-18 Hornet."
"This (F-35C) fighter aircraft provides you with more situational awareness capabilities." He said, "The fusion of all these sensors that the fighter aircraft has provides more information to the pilots so that they can make decisions and make decisions. Better decisions, faster decisions, and more lethality."
"If we are there for interception operations, F-35 is what you want." He said.
"It (F-35C) gives me the ability not to be discovered by the other party, or at least the ability to stay where the enemy can’t use weapons against me. We don’t really have this ability on the F/A-18. Those fourth Generation fighter." Dion said, "This is a huge advantage of this fighter (F-35C)."
He said, "If we find that we are going to face off with enemy fighters, then it (F-35) also performs well in close combat." He added, "It performed very well. I would rather sit in the F-35. I have piloted both types (fighters), and this (F-35C) is the fighter I want."

F-35C makes aircraft carriers more lethal
Dion also flew the F-35B, which is a short-distance vertical take-off and landing model that can participate in operations on airstrips and amphibious assault ships. The F-35B was part of the first F-35 combat deployment. Marine Corps pilots flew the F-35B on the USS Essex (USS Essex) and participated in air strikes in Afghanistan.
When asked whether he prefers the Hornet, F-35B or F-35C, Dion said his favorite fighter is the F-35C. He said that F-35C "has more capabilities" than F-35B, can carry more fuel, get more combat time, and can carry different weapons.
He said that the F-35C fighter aircraft brings many capabilities to the Marine Corps and the Navy. The F-35 squadron on the aircraft carrier and the F/A-18 (fighting together), as well as the tactical integration with the F/A-18s fighter aircraft, will allow the aircraft carrier More lethal.
He cited, for example, that the data link allows the aircraft carrier aviation wing to fight as a unit. In combat, the F-35 can better read information on the battlefield and then transmit the target information to the F/A-18, which has a more powerful missile load than the fifth-generation similar products. Each fighter enhances the combat effectiveness of the other fighter.
The F-35 Lightning II has a "Glass Cockpit", which means that the sensors and meters are displayed on the computer (computer) screen instead of a single analog instrument. The pilot’s helmet is integrated with the aircraft’s avionics suite. Using built-in sensors, the helmet can "see through" the aircraft, providing the pilot with a view that can only be seen on the cockpit screen.
Dion described the F-35 fighter aircraft as a "game changer" as the ability to enhance the aircraft carrier's aviation wing, enhance projection power, and evade high-end threats and enhance information interaction.

The Taiwanese Foreign Minister Wu Zhaoxie warned that if the Chinese Communists attacked by force, Taiwan will fight to the end. He called on Australia and other democracies to deepen intelligence and security cooperation with Taiwan and help Taiwan prepare for war.
The ABC will broadcast an interview with Taiwan’s Foreign Minister Wu Zhaoxie on the evening of October 4 (Monday), "China Tonight". Wu Zhaoxie said in the program: "Taiwan's defense is in our own hands, and we are absolutely dedicated to our duties."
"If China (the CCP) wants to start a war against Taiwan, we will fight to the end. This is our promise... I think they will also suffer huge losses."
On 2 October, the CCP sent 39 military aircraft into the Southwest Air Defense Identification Zone of Taiwan, setting a record for the most sorties since the Ministry of National Defense announced the statistics.
In the context of more tense cross-strait situation, Wu Zhaoxie called on Australia and other democratic countries to deepen security and intelligence cooperation with Taiwan, so that Taiwan can better prepare for the war situation. "We hope to exchange security or intelligence with Australia and other partner countries that share the same philosophy, so that Taiwan can better respond to war situations."
Wu Zhaoxie also emphasized the good relationship between Taiwan and Australia and thanked Australia for its strong support for Taiwan's participation in the Trans-Pacific Partnership Trade Agreement (CPTPP). He said: "As far as I know, Australia has always supported Taiwan to join the CPTPP and is one of the members that speaks for Taiwan the most."
"We have been discussing it in private for a long time. We understand Australia's support and we are grateful for Australia's support."
In April 2021, Michael Goldman, the highest-level US diplomat in Australia, revealed that Australia and the United States are discussing contingency plans for a possible war in the Taiwan Strait. He said on the Australian National University podcast that the United States will be concerned about the risk of "crude military intervention" in Taiwan and some coercive behaviors that have not reached the level of military invasion.
Wu Zhaoxie welcomed the recently established AUKUS strategic partnership between Australia, the United Kingdom and the United States. He said, "Australia is a great country. I am very happy to see that Australia will take on more responsibilities to maintain peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region."

North Korea’s state media, the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA), reported that North Korea has resumed cross-border communications between Korea and North Korea from 4 October 2021 at 9 am (8 am Beijing time).  At the same time, it also called on South Korea to make active efforts to get the relationship between the two sides on track.
In June 2020, the Pyongyang authorities unilaterally cut off all official military and political communication channels between South Korea and North Korea because they were dissatisfied with North Korean defectors spreading anti-Pyongyang leaflets on the border.
At the end of July, relations between the two sides unexpectedly thaw. South Korea and North Korea announced the resumption of the hotline, but two weeks later, North Korea stopped answering calls.
Only a few days ago, Pyongyang conducted a series of missile tests, which aroused international attention. The UN Security Council also convened an emergency meeting for this purpose.
KCNA reported today that North Korean leader Kim Jong-un expressed "intention to restart the interrupted communication lines in South Korea", saying that the move was an attempt to establish "lasting peace" on the Korean peninsula.
KCNA also stated that “the relevant agencies have decided to resume all communication lines between South Korea and North Korea from 9 am on 4 October.” It also called on “the South Korean authorities to make active efforts to get relations between South Korea and North Korea on track, and to resolve major issues that must be prioritized. In order to create a brilliant future."

South Korea and North Korea resume cross-border communications, experts call North Korea a "symbolic" move
KCNA)reported that North Korea will resume cross-border communications between South Korea and North Korea  on 4 October at 9 am (8 am Beijing time). At the same time, it also called on South Korea to make active efforts to get the relationship between the two sides on track. However, experts reminded that this may just be a "symbolic" move by North Korea.
In June last year, the Pyongyang authorities unilaterally cut off all official military and political communication channels between South Korea and North Korea because they were dissatisfied with North Korean defectors spreading anti-Pyongyang leaflets on the border.
KCNA also stated that “the relevant agencies have decided to resume all communication lines between South Korea and North Korea from 9 a.m. on October 4th.” It also called on “the South Korean authorities to make active efforts to get relations between South Korea and North Korea on track, and to resolve major issues that must be prioritized. In order to create a brilliant future."
The Ministry of Unification of South Korea stated in a statement, "With the restoration of communication lines, the government assesses that this has provided a basis for restoring relations between South Korea and North Korea. The government hopes to resume dialogue quickly and have substantial discussions on the restoration of relations between South Korea and North Korea."
Analysts downplayed the importance of restoring the hotline and pointed out that, referring to North Korea's recent missile launch, restoring the hotline is only a "symbolic" move.
Park Won-Gon (transliteration), a professor of North Korean issues at Ewha Womans University in South Korea, pointed out, "Even if this move can lead to talks, we may enter a new stage in which North Korea participates in dialogue but at the same time continues to provocation."

Half a year after two doses of Comirnaty, U.S. research: Neutralizing antibodies in the body return to zero
Israel, Singapore and the United States all use mRNA vaccines, but a new wave of covid outbreaks have occurred, and the number of “breakthrough infections” has also increased. A new study in the United States confirmed that many Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine (Comirnaty) vaccinators, 6 months after completing two doses of vaccination, have no neutralizing antibodies in their bodies that can prevent infection from the variant virus.
Neutralizing antibodies are mainly used to "neutralize" the aggressiveness of viruses, blocking viruses from entering human cells and destroying normal cells.
According to Reuters, researchers compared blood samples taken by 46 healthy adults when they had just completed two doses of vaccination and 6 months after they completed vaccination. They found that they had very high levels of production just after vaccination. The neutralizing antibody of the vaccine can effectively fight covi but the neutralizing antibody will drop significantly after 6 months. By the 7th month, about half of the vaccinators have no neutralizing antibody in their bodies.
Bali Pulendran, professor of pathology, microbiology and immunology at Stanford University, and Mehul Suthar, a virologist at Emory University, pointed out via e-mail that their research showed that the Pfizer/BNT vaccine would Inducing high levels of neutralizing antibodies can deal with the original virus strain, but after the first dose, these levels dropped nearly 10-fold after 7 months.
They found that in about half of the subjects, neutralizing antibodies could no longer be detected in the body 6 months after the second dose of the vaccine. This research report was published on the preprint website of "Life Science" (bioRxiv) on 30 September and is awaiting review by peer experts.
Experts say that although neutralizing antibodies are not the only defense against viruses, they are essential to prevent infection of variant strains. Therefore, the research team recommended that an additional dose be given 6 to 7 months after the second dose of vaccine to strengthen protection.
This study may explain why Israel, which has been vaccinated with Pfizer/BNT on a large scale since the end of last year, broke out in the fourth wave in June. Among the country's 9.3 million population, the total number of confirmed cases is now close to 1.3 million, and the number of "breakthrough infections" is also increasing, accounting for more than half of all new cases.
BNT executive director Ugur Sahin recently admitted in an interview with the Financial Times that by the middle of 2022, an updated version of the vaccine may be needed to deal with new mutant strains that can evade booster vaccines.

Christmas shopping season is at risk, industry warns: Supply chain disasters will only get worse
Image : There are more and more signs that the supply chain crisis will only continue to worsen and may threaten the Christmas shopping season. (Photo by Reuters)

The people from all walks of life originally expected that the bottleneck that plagued the global supply chain in 2020 would basically be eliminated this year, but as this year is coming to an end, more and more signs show that the supply chain crisis will only continue to worsen and may threaten the holiday season.
"Bloomberg" reported that the retail shipping industry was about to enter the so-called "peak period" in early October, but the industry was already in various forms of panic. In Europe, retailers such as the apparel chain H&M cannot meet demand due to delays in delivery. At the same time, in the United States, due to the outbreak of the Southeast Asian epidemic, the Vietnamese factory was closed. After a few months of work stoppage, Nike lowered its sales forecast.
The pandemic has shut down ports and terminals, and the continued shortage of containers has caused shipping prices to soar 10 times compared with a year ago. The shortage of labor has led to the stagnation of land transportation in Europe and the United States and pushed the vacancies in the United States to a record high.
Isaac Larian, founder and chief executive officer of MGA Entertainment, one of the world’s largest toy manufacturers, said that he has been in the industry for 43 years and has never seen such a bad situation. “Everything that can go wrong is There was a problem at the same time".
Steve Azarbad, investment chief at hedge fund Maglan Capital, pointed out that retailers are looking to buy goods made a few years ago to ensure at least some inventory. Yazabad said that it is really difficult for retailers to fill up their shelves. After discussing with multiple suppliers, they all indicated that they could not complete all the orders they received.
Although the sales data shows that the demand is not weak, due to the shortage of containers, the US medium-sized toy company Basic Fun still has thousands of toys waiting to be shipped. Chief Executive Jay Foreman said that the company's performance this year was expected to shake off the haze of the epidemic, but the problem is that it is still unknown whether it will be able to ship normally in the last four months of this year. Furman called the supply chain "a disaster" and it will only get worse.
MGA's Larian revealed that due to the difficulty of finding a container, the company is currently willing to pay up to US$20,000 per container, which is much higher than the US$2,000 a year ago. In addition to soaring costs, shipping delays have also become a crisis for the industry. According to reports, more than 600 containers filled with MGA's best-selling toys have been in the Port of Los Angeles for more than 6 weeks and are still waiting to be unloaded. Larian said that this fall will face a shortage of toys, and it will be a difficult year for retailers.
Bloomberg Logistics analyst Lee Klaskow pointed out that the supply chain has been blocked by the Suez Canal and many other incidents, as well as market dynamics such as labor shortages and soaring transportation costs, are overwhelmed by market dynamics, which makes people feel like an event. Another black swan incident. Krasko stated that "the supply chain has never had a chance to return to normal."
While maintaining their original sales targets in the fourth quarter of this year, large retailers have significantly increased their logistics expenditures, including using more expensive air freight or contracting entire freighters. This may mean that retailers' profits will be impacted, but it also helps large retailers gain market share from smaller competitors with weaker financial resources. Under the impact of the supply chain crisis, consumers will eventually suffer. Many industry professionals believe that with limited product choices, consumer rights will be harmed.

Wuhan Lab journal edited by U.S. officials published dozens of studies from CCP's military

Virologica Sinica – the scientific journal affiliated with the Wuhan Institute of Virology – has published dozens of studies authored by Chinese researchers working for the Communist regime’s People’s Liberation Army.

The academic journal counts the Wuhan Institute of Virology’s top bat coronavirus researcher Shi Zhengli – known as “bat woman” – as its Editor-in-Chief.

Nine additional researchers from the controversial lab, which many scientists and government officials believe is the source of COVID-19, serve on its editorial board.

The National Pulse now can reveal that the journal has published dozens of studies listing individuals employed by Chinese military-controlled institutions. For several years, the journal has enlisted researchers from the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) Hospital 307, General Hospital, Third Military Medical University, and Fourth Military Medical University to even assist with its editorial and review process.

Studies published in Virologica Sinica, including those focused on COVID-19, also count Wuhan Institute of Virology researchers alongside researchers from the PLA’s General Hospital of Central and Southern Theater Command as authors.

Among the entities authors published in Virologica Sinica work for are the Institute of Military MedicineFirst, Second, Fourthand Fifth Military Medical University – all of which are controlled by the PLA.

Several studies, including those constructing “recombined” viruses, counting authors from China’s Academy of Military Medical Sciences have been published in the journal.

Researchers working for Wuhan-based institutes, such as Wuhan University, have seen their studies carried out in conjunction with the Wuhan General Hospital of Guangzhou Command of PLA published in Virologica Sinica.

Authors from the Center for Disease Prevention and Control (CDC) of the SouthernCentral, and Northern Theatre Commands of the PLA are also among the authors published in Virologica Sinica. Additionally, researchers from several institutes part of a PLA-run hospital network such as the Department of Emergency at the 171st Hospital of the PLA and the Department of Respiratory Medicine at the 307th Hospital of the PLA have been published in the journal.

The National Pulse has previously reported that officials working at Fauci’s National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) have served on the journal’s editorial board.

The journal has also repeatedly published studies carrying out gain-of-function research, supporting claims that Fauci lied about his National Institutes of Health (NIH) agency’s involvement with the risky form of research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology.

A 2017 article from Virologica Sinica notes:

To identify the DENV entry factors, Amara’s group carried out a gain-of-function complementary DNA(cDNA) screen for host proteins that allow the minimally susceptible cell line 293T to be infectable by DENV (Carnec et al., 2015)

“Simultaneous gain-of-function and loss-of-function assays were performed by transfecting cells with or without related miRNA inhibitors. After 24 h, Act-D was added into the culture medium,” another study notes. An additional study references the practice, commenting “two main approaches can be undertaken in such screens: gain-of-function, in which a library of overexpressed proteins is used in order to induce or amplify restriction.”

The unearthed ties between the Wuhan Institute of Virology-controlled journal and the PLA underscore the working relationship the lab, which has received millions in funding from Anthony Fauci, retains with China’s military.
