CCP: Singapore flights to mainland China have exported covid cases

The People's Republic of China / Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Embassy in Singapore issued a reminder on the safety of recent air travel to CCP China on 4 October 2021. Recently, due to the sharp rebound of the local epidemic in Singapore, Singapore flights to China have successively exported covid cases, and even multiple confirmed persons on the same flight have not only brought hidden dangers to epidemic prevention and control in China, but also put relevant passengers at great risks.

To this end, the CCP embassy reminded once again that under the current epidemic situation, the risk of epidemic spread and cross-infection caused by air travel is huge. If it is not necessary, the travel to China may be postponed, and the itinerary to CCP China can be arranged after the epidemic has eased.

If it is really necessary to travel, the traveler should consciously manage pre-departure health, reduce going out within 14 days before departure, and avoid unsafe activities such as gatherings and dinner parties. When performing pre-departure double testing, choose a medical institution with a separate area to be tested, and take personal protection to reduce the risk of cross-infection with other patients.

If the traveler has respiratory symptoms or has a history of close contact with a confirmed case before the trip, he/she should actively change his/her itinerary, and then go to China after the risk is eliminated. The application for a health code should truthfully declare vaccination, diagnosis, close contact, etc. For passengers who deliberately conceal relevant facts, the embassy will lock the relevant application once discovered.

Passengers should take good personal protection on the way, wear masks throughout the journey, avoid high-risk behaviour such as taking off masks for meals, and cooperate with epidemic prevention departments after entering the country to comply with epidemic prevention measures.

  1. All travellers going to China have to pass a PCR test before being permitted to board the flight. Upon arrival, the traveller has to enter a 21 day quarantine. Hence, it is more probable that any infection could have occurred while on the flight or at the quarantine hotel in China.
