Xi Jinping raised against the issue of "Taiwan independence", Tsai Ing-wen on National Day Gala shouted: Stick to the Frontline of Democracy and Freedom
Editor : Lu Xinzhi
The Beijing authorities held the "110th Anniversary of the Revolution of 1911" on 9 October 2021. CCP Chinese President Xi Jinping made a speech, mentioning adherence to the one-China principle and the 1992 consensus, and even more emphasis on " Anti-Taiwan independence". In response to this, President Tsai Ing-wen responded at the National Day Gala in the evening that Taiwan will continue to stick to the front line of democracy and freedom through common values and international cooperation.
The National Day party moved to Hsinchu City for the first time and was held at the Hsinchu Air Force Base. Tsai Ing-wen said in her speech that in recent years she often went to various camps to inspect the training and maintenance of the national army, "The sky can see that Air Force fighters fully master airspace defense. When harassed, the pilot can take off to defend the airspace as soon as possible." She went on to say, "On land, the army has artillery and other units to defend the country against the scorching sun. On the water, there are navy brothers and sisters who overcome the challenges of harsh walruses and go to sea to perform patrol missions to protect our seas and territories."
Tsai Ing-wen pointed out that in order to defend the Republic of China, the national army has worked hard to train daily to support the Chinese in Taiwan as usual. She also emphasized that at this moment, the officers and soldiers of the CCP military are sticking to their posts and guarding the country.
The theme of this time is "World Alliance, World Friends", showing that Taiwan and its democratic partners support each other to form a "circle of goodness" and deepen mutual friendship.
Finally, Tsai Ing-wen said, "Over the past year or so, because everyone has united to guard against the epidemic, Taiwan can extend a helping hand to the world, and when a vaccine is needed domestically, we also receive international support."
Tsai Ing-wen shouted, "We will continue to work hard to stay on the front line of democracy and freedom, and through our common values, we will strengthen cooperation with international partners and contribute to the world."

Taiwan responds to Xi Jinping's speech
Taiwan’s Presidential Office spokesperson Zhang Dunhan immediately responded that the Republic of China is a sovereign and independent country and is not part of the Chinese (Communist) state. The future of the country is in the hands of the people of Taiwan.
The Mainland Affairs Commission stated that Beijing will not give up on using force against Taiwan, criticizing the CCP for its rigid Taiwan policy, failing to assess the situation, lack of responding to developments in the international situation, and disregarding the doubts and opposition of the Taiwanese people.
The MAC calls on the Beijing authorities to abandon the provocative measures of intrusion and destruction, and take a more open mind to seriously consider the key to the interaction of "peace, reciprocity, democracy, and dialogue" to help the healthy development of cross-strait relations.
The MAC also pointed out that the anniversary of the Revolution of 1911 is the National Day of the Republic of China, and that the Republic of China is still taking root in Taiwan and standing unshakable. The CCP’s commemoration of the Revolution of 1911 was to rationalize the Communist Party’s dictatorship, consolidate the legitimacy of the CCP’s governance, and carry out a united front against Taiwan.
Taiwan’s Executive Yuan Su Zhenchang stated that the Chinese Communist Party was only established in 1949. The Revolution of 1911 established the Republic of China. The Chinese Communist Party and the Communist Party of China cannot even plunder the Republic of China. "History cannot be distorted."
Regarding the Taiwan issue, on 5 October 2021, US President Biden stated that due to the escalation of cross-strait tensions, he had talked with Xi Jinping on the Taiwan issue, and the two agreed to abide by the Taiwan agreement but Biden did not specify the specific content of the discussion between the two sides.
It is reported that the United States has long followed the "One China Policy", that is, the formal recognition of Beijing and the "Taiwan Relations Act." The "Taiwan Relations Law" emphasizes that the various programs and relationships implemented with foreign countries, foreign governments or similar entities are equally applicable to the people of Taiwan.

Taiwan scholar: Xi Jinping suffers internally and externally, and is under pressure
The Liberty Times reported that Hong Jingfu, director of the Political Department of Chenggong University, believes that Xi Jinping's speech to Taiwan is to set the tone for President Tsai Ing-wen's announcement on the National Day eve.
Hong Jingfu said that Xi Jinping is now suffering internally and externally and is under pressure.
Specifically, internally, China is currently experiencing a power rationing crisis and floods in the middle and lower reaches of the Yellow River. In 2022, Xi Jinping will also face 20 major extension issues; Externally, a new type of cold war pattern has emerged in the US-China relationship, plus the newly established "Australia, United Kingdom and the United States Tripartite Security Partners" (AUKUS) alliance, and the joint military exercise of the six navies of the United States, Britain, Japan, Holland, Canada and New Zealand earlier this month all pointed to the CCP. The entire international situation is quite detrimental to the CCP.
The reason why the future of the Republic is in the hands of Taiwan is a historical geo-political matter.

The Republic of China is established in 1912, it still exists on Taiwan
While Taiwan was still under Japanese rule, the Republic of China was founded on the mainland on 1 January 1912, following the Xinhai Revolution, which began with the Wuchang uprising on 10 October 1911, replacing the Qing dynasty and ending over two thousand years of imperial rule in China.[94] From its founding until 1949 it was based in mainland China. Central authority waxed and waned in response to warlordism (1915–28), Japanese invasion (1937–45), and the Chinese Civil War (1927–50), with central authority strongest during the Nanjing decade (1927–37), when most of China came under the control of the Kuomintang (KMT) under an authoritarian one-party state.[95]
After the Surrender of Japan on 25 October 1945, the US Navy ferried ROC troops to Taiwan to accept the formal surrender of Japanese military forces in Taipei on behalf of the Allied Powers, as part of General Order No. 1 for temporary military occupation. General Rikichi Andō, governor-general of Taiwan and commander-in-chief of all Japanese forces on the island, signed the receipt and handed it over to General Chen Yi of the ROC military to complete the official turnover. Chen Yi proclaimed that day to be "Taiwan Retrocession Day", but the Allies considered Taiwan and the Penghu Islands to be under military occupation and still under Japanese sovereignty until 1952, when the Treaty of San Francisco took effect.[96][97] Although the 1943 Cairo Declaration had envisaged returning these territories to China, it had no legal status as treaty, and also in the Treaty of San Francisco and Treaty of Taipei Japan renounced all claim to them without specifying to what country they were to be surrendered. This introduced the disputed sovereignty status of Taiwan and whether the ROC has sovereignty over Taiwan or only remaining over Kinmen and Matsu Islands.
The ROC administration of Taiwan under Chen Yi was strained by increasing tensions between Taiwanese-born people and newly arrived mainlanders, which were compounded by economic woes, such as hyperinflation. Furthermore, cultural and linguistic conflicts between the two groups quickly led to the loss of popular support for the new government, while the mass movement led by the working committee of the Chinese Communist Party also aimed to bring down the Kuomintang government.[98][99] The shooting of a civilian on 28 February 1947 triggered island-wide unrest, which was suppressed with military force in what is now called the February 28 Incident. Mainstream estimates of the number killed range from 18,000 to 30,000. Those killed were mainly members of the Taiwanese elite.[100][101]
After the end of World War II, the Chinese Civil War resumed between the Chinese Nationalists (Kuomintang), led by Director-general Chiang Kai-shek, and the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), led by CCP Chairman Mao Zedong. Throughout the months of 1949, a series of Chinese Communist offensives led to the capture of its capital Nanjing on 23 April and the subsequent defeat of the Nationalist army on the mainland, and the Communists founded the People's Republic of China on 1 October.[102]
On 7 December 1949, after the loss of four capitals, Chiang evacuated his Nationalist government to Taiwan and made Taipei the temporary capital of the ROC (also called the "wartime capital" by Chiang Kai-shek).[103] Some 2 million people, consisting mainly of soldiers, members of the ruling Kuomintang and intellectual and business elites, were evacuated from mainland China to Taiwan at that time, adding to the earlier population of approximately six million. These people came to be known in Taiwan as 'Mainlanders' (Waishengren, 外省人). In addition, the ROC government took to Taipei many national treasures and much of China's gold reserves and foreign currency reserves.[104][105][106]
After losing control of mainland China in 1949, the ROC retained control of Taiwan and Penghu (Taiwan, ROC), parts of Fujian (Fujian, ROC)—specifically Kinmen, Wuqiu (now part of Kinmen) and the Matsu Islands and two major islands in the South China Sea (within the Dongsha/Pratas and Nansha/Spratly island groups). These territories have remained under ROC governance until the present day. The ROC also briefly retained control of the entirety of Hainan (an island province), parts of Zhejiang (Chekiang)—specifically the Dachen Islands and Yijiangshan Islands—and portions of the Tibet Autonomous Region (Tibet was de facto independent from 1912 to 1951), Qinghai, Xinjiang (Sinkiang) and Yunnan. The Communists captured Hainan in 1950, captured the Dachen Islands and Yijiangshan Islands during the First Taiwan Strait Crisis in 1955 and defeated the ROC revolts in Northwest China in 1958. ROC forces in Yunnan province entered Burma and Thailand in the 1950s and were defeated by Communists in 1961.
Ever since losing control of mainland China, the Kuomintang continued to claim sovereignty over 'all of China', which it defined to include mainland China (including Tibet, which remained independent until 1951), Taiwan (including Penghu), Mongolia (known by the ROC as 'Outer Mongolia', 外蒙古) and other minor territories. In mainland China, the victorious Communists proclaimed the PRC to be the sole legitimate government of China (which included Taiwan, according to their definition) and that the Republic of China had been vanquished.[107]
Martial law, declared on Taiwan in May 1949,[108] continued to be in effect after the central government relocated to Taiwan. It was not repealed until 38 years later, in 1987.[108] Martial law was used as a way to suppress the political opposition during the years it was active.[109] During the White Terror, as the period is known, 140,000 people were imprisoned or executed for being perceived as anti-KMT or pro-Communist.[110] Many citizens were arrested, tortured, imprisoned and executed for their real or perceived link to the Chinese Communist Party. Since these people were mainly from the intellectual and social elite, an entire generation of political and social leaders was decimated. In 1998, a law was passed to create the "Compensation Foundation for Improper Verdicts" which oversaw compensation to White Terror victims and families. President Ma Ying-jeou made an official apology in 2008, expressing hope that there would never be a tragedy similar to White Terror.[111]
Initially, the United States abandoned the KMT and expected that Taiwan would fall to the Communists. However, in 1950 the conflict between North Korea and South Korea, which had been ongoing since the Japanese withdrawal in 1945, escalated into full-blown war, and in the context of the Cold War, US President Harry S. Truman intervened again and dispatched the US Navy's 7th Fleet into the Taiwan Strait to prevent hostilities between Taiwan and mainland China.[112] In the Treaty of San Francisco and the Treaty of Taipei, which came into force respectively on 28 April 1952 and 5 August 1952, Japan formally renounced all right, claim and title to Taiwan and Penghu, and renounced all treaties signed with China before 1942. Neither treaty specified to whom sovereignty over the islands should be transferred, because the United States and the United Kingdom disagreed on whether the ROC or the PRC was the legitimate government of China.[113] Continuing conflict of the Chinese Civil War through the 1950s, and intervention by the United States notably resulted in legislation such as the Sino-American Mutual Defense Treaty and the Formosa Resolution of 1955.

Most Western countries and UN regarded Republic of China as the sole legitimate government of China until the 1970s
Image : Video Screenshot
During the 1960s and 1970s, the ROC maintained an authoritarian, single-party government while its economy became industrialized and technology-oriented. This rapid economic growth, known as the Taiwan Miracle, was the result of a fiscal regime independent from mainland China and backed up, among others, by the support of US funds and demand for Taiwanese products.[114] In the 1970s, Taiwan was economically the second fastest growing state in Asia after Japan.[116] Taiwan, along with Hong Kong, South Korea and Singapore, became known as one of the Four Asian Tigers. Because of the Cold War, most Western nations and the United Nations regarded the ROC as the sole legitimate government of China until the 1970s. Later, especially after the termination of the Sino-American Mutual Defense Treaty, most nations switched diplomatic recognition to the PRC (see United Nations General Assembly Resolution 2758).

The future of the Republic of China is in the hands of Taiwan, struggles to change into a democratic society begin in 1979
Image : Video Screenshot
Until the 1970s the government was regarded by Western critics as undemocratic for upholding martial law, for severely repressing any political opposition, and for controlling media. The KMT did not allow the creation of new parties and those that existed did not seriously compete with the KMT. Thus, competitive democratic elections did not exist.[117][118][121] From the late 1970s to the 1990s, however, Taiwan went through reforms and social changes that transformed it from an authoritarian state to a democracy. In 1979, a pro-democracy protest known as the Kaohsiung Incident took place in Kaohsiung to celebrate Human Rights Day. Although the protest was rapidly crushed by the authorities, it is today considered as the main event that united Taiwan's opposition.[122]

Advent of democratization in Taiwan since 1986
Chiang Ching-kuo, Chiang Kai-shek's son and successor as the ROC president and chairman of the KMT, began reforms to the political system in the mid-1980s. In 1984, the younger Chiang selected Lee Teng-hui, a Taiwanese-born, US-educated technocrat, to be his vice-president. In 1986, the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) was formed and inaugurated as the first opposition party in the ROC to counter the KMT. A year later, Chiang Ching-kuo lifted martial law on the main island of Taiwan (martial law was lifted on Penghu in 1979, Matsu island in 1992 and Kinmen island in 1993). With the advent of democratization, the issue of the political status of Taiwan gradually resurfaced as a controversial issue where, previously, the discussion of anything other than unification under the ROC was taboo.

Democratic reforms continue in the 1990s
Reforms continued in the 1990s. The Additional Articles of the Constitution of the Republic of China and the Act Governing Relations between the People of the Taiwan Area and the Mainland Area defined the status of the ROC, making Taiwan its de facto territory. Lee Teng-hui re-elected in 1996, in the first direct presidential election in the history of the ROC.[125] During the later years of Lee's administration, he was involved in corruption controversies relating to government release of land and weapons purchase, although no legal proceedings commenced. In 1997, "To meet the requisites of the nation prior to national unification",[126] the Additional Articles of the Constitution of the Republic of China was passed and then the former "constitution of five powers" turns to be more tripartite.

On 30 September 2007, the ruling DPP approved a resolution asserting a separate identity from China and called for the enactment of a new constitution for a "normal country". It also called for general use of "Taiwan" as the country's name, without abolishing its formal name, the Republic of China.[129]

The Republic of China is a democratic country after Tsai Ing-wen became Taiwan President
Image : Video Screenshot
In 2016,
Tsai Ing-wen of the DPP became the president of Taiwan. In 2020, she called on the international community to defend the self-ruled island's democracy in the face of renewed threats from China and called on the latter to democratize and renounce the use of military force against Taiwan.
Chinese leader Xi Jinping had earlier expressed that Taiwan was part of China, who reserves the right to use force but will strive to achieve peaceful "reunification". Xi also offered to discuss unification with parties or individuals under the precondition of "one China", but both Tsai and the KMT rejected Xi's proposal.
[135][136]In January 2020, Tsai was re-elected and in the simultaneous legislative election President Tsai's Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) won a majority with 61 out of 113 seats. The Kuomintang (KMT) got 38 seats.[137]
In the 2020 Democracy Index published in 2021, Taiwan was one of "three countries [in Asia]" that "moved from the 'flawed democracy' category to be classified as 'full democracies'." It ranks 11th globally as of 2021.[138][139]

CCP has no right to interfere in the political system and lifestyle of Taiwan
The future of the Republic of China is therefore in the hands of Taiwanese not the mainland Chinese that follow the Communist way of life.
The Communists have never led Taiwan in the development of Taiwan politics and economy. The CCP has never allowed Taiwan to express their voices in the affairs of health and democracy to the world community. It keeps threatening countries such as Lithuania, France, the U.S. and the Czech Republic from deepening economic and political ties with Taiwan. It keeps worrying without valid reason that changing representative name from "Chinese Taipei" to "Taiwan" will mean giving credit to Taiwan as an independent country.

The island of Taiwan and outlying islands of Matsu and Kinmen are not centred on Chinese and Taipei. There are natives in Taiwan that are not Chinese and all Taiwanese cities, towns and counties are interconnected with one another. Taiwan does not act on the will of Taipei and Chinese alone. It is the will of people everywhere in Taiwan, regardless of race, language, dialect, creed and religion, that give meaning to Taiwan as the country, the democratic Republic of China.

Zhao Shaokang: The Communist Party has no reason not to recognize that the Republic of China and should run in the polls fairly with the Kuomintang
Image : Zhao Shaokang, chairman of China Broadcasting Corporation (CBC), said that since Xi Jinping affirms and commemorates Sun Yat-sen and does not recognize the existence of the Republic of China, the Chinese Kuomintang has the right to demand that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) open up party competition, conduct fair elections, and use policy propositions rather than force to win people's approval. (Data photo)
The General Secretary of the Communist Party of China Xi Jinping reiterated the basic principle of "peaceful reunification and one country, two systems" at the "Commemorative Meeting of the 110th Anniversary of the Revolution of 1911." Zhao Shaokang, the chairman of CBC who organized the "Kuomintang Battle Blue", said that since Xi Jinping affirmed and commemorated Sun Yat-sen, it is unreasonable not to recognize the fact that the Republic of China exists. The Chinese Kuomintang has the right to demand that the Communist Party of China open up party competition, fair elections, and use policy propositions, instead of fighting for the people's approval by force.
Zhao Shaokang issued a press release stating that Sun Yat-sen established the Republic of China after the success of the Wuchang Uprising in Xinhai, and was honored as the father of the country. He was also the "revolutionary pioneer" in the mouth of CCP. Since Xi Jinping and the Communist Party of China affirmed Sun Yat-sen and commemorated Sun Yat-sen, the Republic of China is Sun Yat-sen again. Founded by the leadership, 38 years earlier than the People’s Republic of China, the Communist Party really has no reason not to recognize the existence of the Republic of China. How can it commemorate Sun Yat-sen while not recognizing or even wanting to destroy the country he established?
Zhao Shaokang pointed out that Sun Yat-sen’s four major propositions of "expulsion of the Tartars, restoration of China, establishment of the Republic of China, and equal land rights" were more or less implemented by the Communist Party. However, Sun Yat-sen established the first democratic republic in Asia and his civil rights doctrine is democracy.

Democracy has not been achieved by the CCP
"Democracy" has not been achieved by the CCP. The CCP will say that what they implement is also a Chinese-style democratic system, but the democratic system is at least not a one-party dictatorship, and opposition parties cannot be affiliates or vases. If Sun Yat-sen was alive, he would not think that this was the democratic system he advocated.
Zhao Shaokang believes that, as the successor of Dr. Sun Yat-sen, the Chinese Kuomintang has the right to demand that the Chinese Communist Party open up party competition, use policy propositions rather than force to win the people’s approval, and let the Kuomintang and the Communist Party run fair elections. Xi Jinping and the Communist Party should have no fear of party competition. The KMT should also have the courage and spirit of "comparing the Central Plains." This is the best way to commemorate the 110th anniversary of the Revolution of 1911.

Responding to Xi Jinping, KMT: Defending the Republic of China, anti-Taiwan independence, anti-"one country, two systems"
Image : In response to the relevant remarks made by the General Secretary of the Communist Party of China Xi Jinping in Beijing today to commemorate the 110th anniversary of the Revolution of 1911, the Kuomintang responded that the Kuomintang has always defended the historical achievements of the Revolution of 1911 of Republic of China. (Data photo)
In response to the relevant remarks made by General Secretary Xi Jinping in Beijing today to commemorate the 110th anniversary of the Revolution of 1911, the Kuomintang responded by stating that the Kuomintang has always defended the historical achievements of the Revolution of 1911. The Republic of China is a democratic republic that pursues fairness and justice. If the CCP supports Sun Yat-sen's revolutionary cause, it should face up to the existence of the Republic of China and respect the differences between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait and Taiwan's public opinion.
The Kuomintang said that Taiwan will usher in the National Day of the Republic of China and the 110th anniversary of the Revolution of 1911 on 10 October 2021. The party continues to use the Prime Minister's will as a beacon and the mainstream public opinion of the Republic of China to maintain the security of the people of Taiwan and the peace and prosperity of the region.
Regarding Xi Jinping quoting Sun Yat-sen’s famous saying, “The trend of the world is mighty, if you follow it, you will prosper, and if you go against it, you will perish!” the Kuomintang said that the original meaning of the sentence was that a democratic republic has become the trend of the world. The meaning of the democratic trend, since the Communist Party of China firmly supports Sun Yat-sen’s revolutionary cause, it should be able to appreciate the current situation in Taiwan and respect the living space of the Republic of China. The CCP should also look forward to the freedom, democracy, rule of law, and human rights implemented by the Republic of China in Taiwan today. Universal values such as equal wealth can one day be realized in mainland China. "Today's democratic Taiwan can be tomorrow's free China."

Kuomintang: Seek common ground while respecting differences
The Kuomintang also called on the two sides of the Taiwan Strait to further pursue "seeking common ground while reserving differences", promote non-governmental exchanges and accumulate goodwill interactions through reciprocal and dignified communication under the current situation of "seeking common ground while respecting differences." Kangzhuang Avenue realizes Sun Yat-sen's ideal of "the world is for the public".
The Kuomintang pointed out that the Revolution of 1911 was caused by many revolutionary groups of the party’s predecessor. The opportunity for national self-improvement is more important to promote the republican thinking of "people-oriented" and "people for the country".
The Kuomintang emphasized that since the founding of the Republic of China, it has experienced crises of warlords’ chaotic politics, foreign aggression and foreign powers. Leading the nation’s military and civilians against Japan and continuing to promote constitutionalism during the war, the Kuomintang members worked tirelessly and finally implemented the first written republican constitution in modern China in Taiwan, a beacon of Chinese social democracy and freedom, and a preservation place for traditional Chinese culture to truly implement the "Three People's Principles" that Sun Yat-sen and the revolutionary martyrs fought for.

President Tsai Ing-wen’s speech on the National Day: "Ensuring sovereignty and defending the country" is an unchanging persistence

President Tsai Ing-wen is attending the National Day Convention in the square in front of the Presidential Palace on 10 October 2021 morning, and is giving a speech on the theme of "Consensus and Disagreement, Unite to Defend Taiwan." Facing the rising situation in the Taiwan Strait, the President points out that Taiwan is at the forefront of the democratic defense, "Every step we take will affect the future direction of the world, and the future direction of the world will affect the future of Taiwan." The President also emphasizes that even in the course of development, the appearance of the country has changed. "Ensuring sovereignty and defending the country" is an unchanging persistence.
According to the instructions of the Presidential Palace, President Tsai’s National Day speech this year is divided into five parts:
First of all, the President emphasizes that facing the challenges of the epidemic since May, the Chinese people show resilience through unity and international cooperation in epidemic prevention. In addition to thanking the people and the government for their cooperation, the self-discipline and unity of all people in the country have protected the Republic of China "our cherished homeland". She would also like to thank international friends for their assistance and lending a helping hand, showing the spirit of "a great alliance of democracy, the world is friends". Taiwan will continue to spread the "circle of goodness" and contribute to the international community.
In response to the external situation, the President reports to the people the current complex regional situation and the unprecedented severe challenges Taiwan face. She also emphasizes that Taiwan is at the forefront of the democratic line of defense. Every step Taiwan take will affect the future direction of the world, and the future direction of the world will also affect Taiwan's future. The President reiterates Taiwan’s determination to fully defend itself and its position to maintain regional peace and stability, emphasizing once again that Taiwan will not advance rashly but it will not give way to sovereignty.
President Tsai further elaborates that Taiwan, the Republic of China, which has been praised by the world today, is the result of the joint efforts of people who have gone through many generations. Even in the course of development, the appearance of the country has changed, but "ensuring sovereignty and defending the country" is an unchanging insistence; this is the greatest common divisor of the people of Taiwan, and we must work together on the common basis of this greatest common divisor. It is agreed to be united in order to face the ensuing challenges and to ensure that generations of Taiwanese continue to be free and unrestrained.
Regarding governance, the president said that in the future term of office, he hopes to further lay a foundation for long-term stability and stability for the country's future development. Faced with issues of divergent opinions on government governance, transition justice, energy policy, etc., she hopes to pool social forces to find the greatest common divisor of different opinions and find a solution generally acceptable to the public so that the country will have sufficient strength and stability to develop a society that faces changes and challenges in the future.
Finally, President Tsai mentions the touch of the Tokyo Olympics this summer, as well as the Taiwanese heroes in various fields participating in this year’s National Day performances, and once again emphasizes the sense of community of the Taiwanese people regardless of each other, and lets the world see Taiwan’s confidence. The President also hopes that all people in the Republic of China will continue to advance with glory and confidence and make Taiwan the Taiwan of the world.

National Day speech reiterated "maintain the status quo" Tsai Ing-wen: Taiwanese will not succumb under pressure
Image : Regarding the stance on cross-strait relations, President Tsai reiterated that maintaining the status quo is our proposition, and we will do our best to prevent the status quo from being changed unilaterally. We will not advance rashly, but we must never think that the people of Taiwan will succumb under pressure. "Because the path set by China will not have Taiwan's democratic and free lifestyle, let alone the sovereignty of 23 million people." (Video Screenshot)
Today is the Republic of China National Day 10.10. President Tsai Ing-wen attended the National Day at the Presidential Palace and delivered a National Day speech. Regarding the stance on cross-strait relations, President Tsai reiterated, "Maintaining the status quo is our proposition, and we will do our best to prevent the status quo from being changed unilaterally. We will not advance rashly, but we must never think that the people of Taiwan will succumb under pressure, because the path set by China will not have Taiwan's democratic and free lifestyle, let alone the sovereignty of 23 million people."
President Tsai attended the National Day meeting held in the square in front of the Presidential Palace today, and gave a speech on the theme of "Consensus and Disagreement, Unite to Defend Taiwan." The President said, "The better we are, the more pressure China will put on us." She wants to remind all fellow citizens that we have no slack capital. International politics at this moment is undergoing drastic changes. The expansion of authoritarianism has made countries all over the world that support the values of freedom and democracy vigilant, and Taiwan is at the forefront of democratic defense.
President Tsai stated that with the evolution of the international situation, the Republic of China at this moment is in the most complex and changeable situation in 72 years. Every step we take is bound to affect the future direction of the world, and the future direction of the world will surely affect the future of Taiwan.
The President stated that the situation in the Indo-Pacific region is becoming increasingly tense and complicated. After the Beijing authorities took full control of Hong Kong and suppressed democrats, they also adjusted the direction of political and economic development since the "reform and opening up."
The President pointed out that at the same time, regional order is being challenged in the South China Sea and the East China Sea. In the southwest airspace of Taiwan, the normalized activities of common planes have seriously affected our national security and flight security.
The President said that among democracies, efforts are being made to strengthen the foundation of cooperation in various fields to respond to regional and global changes. The G7, NATO, the European Union, and the "four-party security dialogue" between the United States, Japan, India and Australia, unanimously concerned about peace and security in the Taiwan Strait, and also concerned about whether the current situation of peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region will be unilaterally undermined by China.
The President stated that she would like to reiterate that Taiwan is willing to contribute to the peaceful development of the region. With regard to the stance of cross-strait relations, our goodwill and commitment remain unchanged. Maintaining the status quo is our proposition, and we will do our utmost to prevent the status quo from being unilaterally changed. She also emphasized that the settlement of differences between the two sides of the strait must be through equal dialogue.
The President stated that we look forward to the relaxation of cross-strait relations and we will not advance rashly, but we must never think that the people of Taiwan will succumb under pressure. We will continue to enrich our national defense, show our determination to defend ourselves, and ensure that no one can force us to follow the path set by China. "Because the path set by China will not have Taiwan's democratic and free lifestyle, let alone the sovereignty of 23 million people."

Constitutional reform must be faced." The president urges the ruling and opposition parties to put aside their prejudices and seek an intersection
Today is National Day on 10.10. President Tsai Ing-wen once again mentioned constitutional issues in her National Day speech. She said that reform of the constitutional system is something that must be faced. The Legislative Yuan's Constitutional Amendment Committee has been established. The constitution of the Republic of China was based on the premise of safeguarding a democratic and free constitutional system. It called on the ruling and opposition parties to put aside their prejudices, seriously discuss constitutional issues, and seek the greatest intersection.
Regarding economic and internal affairs issues, the president said that since she took office in 2016, she has been committed to trade diversification, industrial innovation, energy transformation, talent cultivation and introduction, so that the people of Taiwan can see the positive transformation of Taiwan's economic structure. Today, the performance of Taiwan’s economy has not only returned to the top of the four dragons in Asia, but also attracted the attention of the world. We have embarked on a new economic route that no longer depends on a single market.
The President stated that in addition to economic transformation, Taiwan have overcome all difficulties and promoted many reforms. Social care has expanded, diplomatic breakthroughs have been made, and national defense reforms are also underway.
The president said that many people asked her, what else do we do for Taiwan next? Her answer is simple. In addition to the courage to reform and strengthen the national power, we must lay a foundation for the country’s future development and a long-term stability. We must enable Taiwan, the Republic of China, to have sufficient strength and a stable society to usher in the next stage changes and challenges.
The President stated that we must face issues that have long plagued Taiwanese society, are full of differences, and are difficult to reach a consensus. We must also build consensus and find a solution that is generally acceptable to the public.
The President said that it is necessary for us to respond to the needs of national development and make necessary reviews and adjustments for important governance issues such as government systems and organizations, local systems, territorial planning, and regional development, so that national governance can be the most efficient and reflect public opinion. status.
The President pointed out that among them, the reform of the constitutional system is a matter that must be faced. The Legislative Yuan's Constitutional Amendment Committee has been established. This constitutional reform will be based on the constitution of the Republic of China and on the premise of maintaining a democratic and free constitutional system.
The president said that she understands that the threshold for constitutional amendment is very high. She wants to call on both ruling and opposition parties. Constitutional reform issues are related to national governance. Whether in power or opposition, they must put aside their prejudices, seriously discuss constitutional issues, and seek the greatest intersection.
The president mentioned that the project of transformational justice, the scars and right and wrong left by history, how to heal them and how to evaluate them, are testing the wisdom and courage of our generation. In addition, how the country's energy policy should go is also a question we must think about.
The President stated that no country can continue to accumulate momentum for economic growth under repeated energy policies. We have synchronized with the international mainstream and declared the 2050 net zero emission target. We must also plan a road map with all walks of life, grasp the corresponding trend, assess risks early, and build a more flexible and adaptable power supply system. This is not only related to competitiveness, but also related to environmental sustainability.
The President stated that only by addressing these important issues can we lay a foundation for long-term stability and leave a better country to young people. However, the discussion of these public issues in the past could easily be caused by differences in political parties or differences in political identities, so that they were infinitely transformed into ideological disputes due to differences in paths and means. These disputes will not help the development of the country, but will only make us forced to internalize and go around in situ.
The president said that she wants to bring in social forces in the next few years to find a way to resolve these issues. Let society and political departments work together to find the greatest common divisor of different opinions, resolve difficult issues one by one, and lay the most solid foundation for the general direction of the country's development.

National Day speech condolences to family members who died in the epidemic. Tsai Ing-wen: They are members of the community of life
When President Tsai Ing-wen spoke at the National Day Convention, she first extended his sincere condolences to the families of more than 800 people who lost their lives in the outbreak.
President Tsai attended the National Day meeting held in the square in front of the Presidential Palace today, and gave a speech on the theme of "Consensus and Disagreement, Unite to Defend Taiwan." The President stated, "Today is the National Day of the 110th year of the Republic of China. Every year on this day, we get together to celebrate our country’s birthday. With a solemn heart, we thank the predecessors of the past generations on this land. Regardless of whether they came first, they sacrificed for this beautiful home. Today, the people living in Taiwan are already a community of life, and we have been tested again and again."
The President pointed out that since May this year, "Taiwan has encountered the most severe challenge since the outbreak of the epidemic. More than 800 people have lost their lives. They are our family members, good friends, and members of our life community. Here, at the beginning of the speech, I would like to extend my sincerest condolences to their families."
The President pointed out that in this wave of epidemic, "We have once again seen the high degree of self-discipline and quality of the Taiwanese people. No matter how hot the weather is, everyone does not forget to wear a mask; wherever they go, everyone will automatically scan the QR Code and maintain social distancing. When the vaccine arrives, everyone will be vaccinated in an orderly manner in accordance with the government's arrangements. I am very grateful for your efforts, and the government will never take it for granted for your cooperation."
The President then thanked the Hon Hai/Ying Ling Foundation, TSMC, Tzu Chi and other non-governmental organizations for working hand in hand with the government, and thanked the medical staff for their hard work, and thanked the people of Taiwan again, "In such a difficult time, everyone’s unity has preserved our country. Everyone's democratic qualities have preserved our cherished homeland."

The President mentioned that in addition to self-help, there is assistance from international friends. Japan, the United States, Lithuania, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Poland and other countries have extended a helping hand in the face of severe global epidemics and unstable vaccine supply. Except for Lithuania, which is about to set up a branch office, representatives of other countries are on the scene. This is the "League of Democracy, World Friends". She also invited all the guests present to applaud and express her deepest gratitude to the representatives of these countries.
The President pointed out that Taiwanese have a beautiful tradition, and we will not forget the kindness of others to us. The mask we sent last year was "Taiwan can help"; the vaccine they sent this year was a "friendship vaccine." This is the "circle of good." She wants to promise the international community here that Taiwan will definitely make a contribution to the international community so that the "circle of goodness" will continue to spread out.
The President said that although the epidemic has impacted domestic demand this year, it has not affected our growth momentum. The global shortage of semiconductor chips has highlighted the importance of Taiwan in the supply chain; and the changing situation in the Indo-Pacific region has also made Taiwan's key position in the region once again attracting attention.
The President stated that the relationship between Taiwan and Japan continues to deepen, and the relationship between the EU and us is getting closer and closer. Taiwan and the United States have resumed TIFA talks, and Taiwan has also submitted documents to CPTPP in Washington, Tokyo, Canberra, Brussels and Taiwan issues. No longer on the fringe, there are more and more democratic friends who are willing to stand up for Taiwan.
The President said, "We believe in our ability to work with partners with similar ideas to contribute to the international community. Taiwan’s international image is no longer an orphan of Asia; we are now the "Island of Tenacity" that can bravely face challenges."

Thanks to the heroes of Tokyo Olympics. Tsai Ing-wen: 23 million people can be proud of the world
President Tsai Ing-wen delivered a National Day speech. In particular, at the end of the speech, she mentioned that one of the most touching scenes of Taiwan in 2021 is that when the heroes of the Tokyo Olympics return to Taiwan, the national army will dispatch two thousand illusions. Welcome them back. Both the national army and the Eastern Olympics heroes are the heroes of this country. I hope that our compatriots believe in the good of Taiwan and the importance of Taiwan. "I believe that our community of 23 million people can be proud of the world."
President Tsai attended the National Day meeting held in the square in front of the Presidential Palace today, and gave a speech on the theme of "Consensus and Disagreement, Unite to Defend Taiwan." The President mentioned at the end of his speech that 2021 will be a challenging and moving year. In the Tokyo Olympics this summer, Taiwanese athletes achieved unprecedented good results. On the national birthday today, she would once again thank all the athletes and all the logistics teams, "Thank you for letting the world see Taiwan."
The President said that during the Olympic Games, the people of Taiwan once again established a sense of community that does not distinguish between each other. She knows that some people think that they will lose every time they watch the game, so as long as the Taiwan players play, they dare not watch the broadcast, and can only cheer silently in their hearts. She also knows that when someone is watching an archery competition, their heart beats faster than the players. "This is the community." It is an invisible thread that brings each of us together.
The president said, "In the badminton men's doubles gold medal match, when the in picture appeared on the TV screen, I believe many people screamed and screamed, and even shed tears. We have waited for this moment for a long time. Taiwan’s goodness, Taiwan’s self-confidence, and Taiwan’s bravery have been waiting to be recognized and seen by the world. This summer, we did it."
The President added, "In the past few days, when the plane for the National Day rehearsal flew over Taipei, many pedestrians on the road would stop and look up. They are watching the air force that defends the country. Not only the Air Force, but because of the National Day, many troops rehearsing for the National Day rehearsal appeared on the streets of Taipei. The dredging engineers, the disinfecting chemical soldiers, the heavy aircraft of the military police rapid response company, and many combat vehicles that are usually difficult to see on the street, are just in front of us on Chongqing South Road, ready to go."
The President said, "Everyone picked up their phones and was busy taking pictures. Maybe it was not very clear what kind of unit it was, and maybe it was impossible to name the equipment, but it was a sense of peace of mind. This is our national army. Our army will protect our homeland, and will come to rescue disasters when there is a disaster. When sovereign territory and democracy and freedom are threatened, they will also use their lives to defend our homeland."
The President finally stated that in 2021, one of the most touching scenes in Taiwan is that when the Tokyo Olympics heroes return to China, the Republic of China national army will dispatch two thousand illusions and welcome them back in our own airspace.

The President said, "The National army and the Tokyo Olympics heroes are the heroes of this country. She hopes that all compatriots will believe in the good of Taiwan, the importance of Taiwan, and that the community of 23 million people can be proud of the world. Let us move forward with glory and confidence, be our own masters, be happy to be the people of the world, and let Taiwan become the Taiwan of the world."

Recently, there has been a sharp increase in the number of co-aircraft disturbances. U.S. Expert: Taiwanese will not give up freedom
Image : The frequency of harassment of Taiwan by CCP aircraft has increased sharply recently, but US think tank experts believe that this will not allow the people of Taiwan to renounce their freedom. (Provided by the Ministry of National Defense)
The number of joint-aircraft disturbances has recently increased sharply, frequently intruding into the air defense identification zone in my country's southwestern airspace, and the recent significant escalation of the Communist Army's actions has also attracted great attention from the United States. Regarding the joint operation, Richard Fisher, a researcher at the Center for International Evaluation and Strategy, a US think tank, believes that the PLA's move was to intimidate Taiwan, but the CCP could not persuade the people of Taiwan to give up freedom; the US "Center for International Strategy and Research" (CSIS) Senior Researcher for Asia-Pacific Security Affairs Bonny Lin (Bonny Lin) said that China’s large-scale exercises usually have counterproductive effects and do not make the people of Taiwan feel scared or support reunification.
According to the "Voice of America" report, Fei Xueli pointed out that the Communist Army tried to make the people of Taiwan feel scared, but fortunately, just like the "96 Missile Crisis," this would not be effective, and the PLA did not learn a lesson. On the contrary, it has intensified. In addition to increasing intimidating military aircraft flights, they have also conducted exercises with the navy.
Fei Xueli believes that another purpose of the People’s Liberation Army is to conduct joint combat exercises among different services such as the Air Force, Navy, and Missile Forces in the future. However, even if the CCP does this, the "intimidating target" will still fail because it cannot convince the people of Taiwan. To give up freedom, the people of Taiwan will not give up freedom directly without fighting hard.
Fei Xueli pointed out that the only reason for the People’s Liberation Army to retreat is to ensure that Taiwan has various capabilities to defeat the Communist invasion. If Taiwan can have 1,000 long-range missiles in 2024, China will be less likely to invade Taiwan in 2025. A way to avoid war."
Lin Biying mentioned that in the past, the CCP’s "intimidation" was to push the people of Taiwan in the direction they did not want to see, and it did not make the people of Taiwan feel fear or more support for reunification, and even aroused the anger of the people of Taiwan. Lin Biying believes that these recent actions by the CCP will only deepen the understanding of the people of Taiwan that China is not only against the Taiwan government, but also against the people of Taiwan. This will not help China influence Taiwan's public opinion.

Taiwan is small in size and convenient in transportation. It is not a problem to travel from north to south. However, there are still some unique accents, cultures and customs in various places, such as southerners who sometimes end with "fat" when they speak.
Taichung people like to top with Dongquan chili sauce when they eat food, and Tainanese have a sweeter taste. Some netizens are curious. Taipei, nicknamed the "Tianlong Country," gathers a lot of people from other counties and cities. How can one tell who is the Taipei native when walking on the road?
As soon as the article came out, hundreds of tweets flooded in, and the discussion was quite lively.
Original PO mentioned in the PTT gossip page that he is from Nantou, goes to Taichung and Kaohsiung wearing slippers, but he will wear them until he arrived in Taipei City putting on the cloth shoes, excluding the Beipiao tribe.
How to recognize the people of Taipei in one second, some people also emphasized "the kind that starts with the ID card A".
Netizens have left messages and replies, "Walking super fast", "Walking super fast +1", "Walking fast, can't keep up with the kind", "In the MRT Everyone seems to be able to calculate the trajectory, and all kinds of cleverly avoided walking without slowing down."
In addition to walking fast and not hitting each other like a tacit understanding, some netizens named Taipei people who like to be referred to as landmarks, "people who can talk about North Cars and Board Stations", "Friends around you have said about North Cars since they were young", " Young people talk about CNR, Guanmai, and Anson." But some netizens retorted, "Old Taipei people talk about Qiafu" and "When I was young, they talked about stations. Suddenly the university found out how it became a CNR."
In the article discussing the differences between North and South, some people said bluntly that "Taiwan can be divided even if it is so small" and "fundamentally stereotyped."

The CCP’s "Conference in Commemoration of the Revolution of 1911" does not see the Republic of China Wang Hao: Will the Kuomintang protest?
Image : The General Secretary of the Communist Party of China Xi Jinping made a speech to Taiwan today (9th) at the "Conference to Commemorate the 110th Anniversary of the Revolution of 1911." The venue layout did not show the Republic of China at all. (Associated Press)
The General Secretary of the Communist Party of China Xi Jinping on 9 October 2021 delivered a speech to Taiwan at the "Commemorative Meeting of the 110th Anniversary of the Revolution of 1911" in Beijing. In this regard, the writer and political scholar Wang Hao directly called out that there was no "Republic of China" in the layout of the meeting. Will the Chinese Kuomintang express a protest?
Xi Jinping delivered a speech at the "Memorial of the 110th Anniversary of the Revolution of 1911" at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. He expressed that Beijing will adhere to the basic principles of "peaceful reunification, one country, two systems" and the "One China Principle and the 1992 Consensus" to promote peace in cross-strait relations and development. He repeated that "the Taiwan issue is purely an internal affair of China, and no foreign interference is allowed."
In this regard, Wang Hao said in a Facebook page that the CCP "commemorated the 110th anniversary of the Revolution of 1911" but played the "National Anthem of the People's Republic of China." What is the logic? He also thought of the Kuomintang chairman Zhu Lilun's reply to Xi Jinping’s end-of-the-era of removing the "Republic of China" a few days ago, and asked ironically, "The "Republic of China" is gone. Will the Chinese Kuomintang protest?"
In response to Xi Jinping’s remarks on Taiwan, the Kuomintang responded that the Kuomintang has always defended the historical achievements of the Revolution of 1911, that is, the Republic of China, which is a five-power constitution that guarantees freedom and human rights, practices a democratic republic, and pursues fairness and justice, "If the CCP supports Sun Yat-sen’s revolution In our career, CCP should face up to the existence of the Republic of China, respect the differences between the two sides of the strait and Taiwan's public opinion, so that the two sides of the strait can break the ice again and jointly pursue the ideal of 'the world is for the public'."

Responding to Xi Jinping, Taiwan's ruling and opposition parties oppose one country, two systems
Today 10 October is the National Day of the Republic of China but the Beijing authorities held a meeting to commemorate the Revolution of 1911 on 9 October. Regarding Xi Jinping's talk about peaceful reunification, Taiwan's ruling and opposition parties expressed their firm opposition to "one country, two systems".
The Republic of China held the National Day of the Double Ten on Sunday. The Beijing authorities chose the day before to hold a high-profile "commemorative meeting to commemorate the 110th anniversary of the Revolution of 1911." . The Presidential Office of the Republic of China responded that the Republic of China is a sovereign and independent country and is not part of the People’s Republic of China. What was established by the Revolution of 1911 110 years ago was a democratic republic, not authoritarian dictatorship, and it is truly realized in Taiwan today.
Su Zhenchang, President of the Executive Yuan of the Republic of China, said, "The People’s Republic of China was only established in 1949. The Revolution of 1911 was the Republic of China. Therefore, the People’s Republic of China and the Communist Party of China cannot even plunder this. The beauty and history of the Chinese Kuomintang and the Republic of China cannot be distorted either."
The Chinese Kuomintang stated that it insists on opposing "one country, two systems" and defending the sovereignty of the Republic of China and the democratic and free system. Looking forward to "Today's democratic Taiwan can be tomorrow's free China." The forces of the times said that Taiwan is a sovereign and independent country, and there is no consensus of 1992 between the two countries, let alone "one country, two systems". The MAC responded that the anniversary of the Revolution of 1911 is the National Day of the Republic of China. Mr. Sun Yat-sen and countless revolutionary martyrs created the first democratic republic in Asia, the Republic of China.
Qiu Chuizheng, spokesperson of the Mainland Affairs Commission of the Republic of China, said, "The CCP has always emphasized the legitimacy of its legitimacy by holding Sun Yat-sen high, but denying the success of the Revolution of 1911 and the fact that it exists with the Republic of China. This is a one-sided distortion of historical facts. The anniversary of the Revolution of 1911. It is the National Day of the Republic of China."
The MAC stated that the Republic of China has stood firm in Taiwan. Taiwan’s democratic and free system has created a prosperous society and its efforts to maintain peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait have been unanimously affirmed by the international community, which proves that the historical trend is not on the side of the autocratic hegemon.

Interrogated for blood test during anti-Hong Kong return, ship crew fled the CCP
The original mainland Chinese crew member Ding Yiduo posted many truthful videos about Hong Kong’s anti-Chinese return protests on the Internet and was summoned by the police and he was given blood tests. In order to escape the CCP's persecution, he recently fled to the free United States. Let's take a look at his experience.
Former mainland crew member Ding Yiduo, in order to express his support for Hong Kong’s anti-Chinese return movement, he once posted a lot of truth videos on social media supporting Hong Kong’s democracy and freedom.
Ding Yiduo said, "On the eve of the National Day in 2019, they (in the group) posted a lot of videos about Hong Kong’s anti-Chinese return. I also understand this. I said that if I were a Hong Kong citizen, I would also take to the streets. I understand Hong Kong compatriots very much."
Mr. Ding said that on the afternoon of the video release, he was summoned by the police at the Haicang police station and fired from the company where he worked.
Ding Yiduo said, "The next day, I received a call from the company at about noon. The company found an excuse that the project was completed and the package was ready to go back. Oh, I thought it was 9.9% because the National Security Police notified us."
After the interrogation, the police at the police station also took blood tests on him, which made him quite scared.
Ding Yiduo said, "(the blood test) was done, he (the police) called their leader and said, "I have finished all these procedures, and now let him go or what else? I heard him talking to the leader." , The leader said: Bring the mobile phone and disband his group."
He revealed that he saw that the police knew his location well and had screenshots of his conversations on social media. After the incident, the friend told Mr. Ding that if the truth-clarifying video continues to be released, the police may harvest organs for huge profits.

White House celebrates Indigenous People's Day, skips Columbus Day
Reporter : Kipp Jones, The Western Journal / https://www.westernjournal.com/biden-1st-president-history-skip-columbus-day-commemorates-indigenous-peoples-day-instead/
President Joe Biden has become the first U.S. president not to
acknowledge Columbus Day, announcing Friday that the White House will celebrate
Indigenous Peoples’ Day instead.
Biden issued a
proclamation which stated that Monday, 11 October, will be designated to
honor “American Indians, Alaska Natives, and Native Hawaiians.”
According
to The
Associated Press, Indigenous Peoples’ Day will be observed in the United
States alongside Columbus Day, which is established by Congress.
The White
House on Friday repeated its claim that the country has not lived up
to its “promise.”
“Since
time immemorial, American Indians, Alaska Natives, and Native Hawaiians have
built vibrant and diverse cultures — safeguarding land, language, spirit,
knowledge, and tradition across the generations,” Biden said in the proclamation.
“On Indigenous Peoples’ Day, our Nation celebrates the invaluable contributions
and resilience of Indigenous peoples, recognizes their inherent sovereignty,
and commits to honoring the Federal Government’s trust and treaty obligations
to Tribal Nations.”
The White House continued the statement by smearing the
founding of the country.
“Our
country was conceived on a promise of equality and opportunity for all people —
a promise that, despite the extraordinary progress we have made through the
years, we have never fully lived up to,” Biden stated. “That is especially true
when it comes to upholding the rights and dignity of the Indigenous people who
were here long before colonization of the Americas began.”
“Today, we recognize Indigenous peoples’ resilience and strength
as well as the immeasurable positive impact that they have made on every aspect
of American society. We also recommit to supporting a new, brighter future
of promise and equity for Tribal Nations — a future grounded in Tribal
sovereignty and respect for the human rights of Indigenous people in the Americas
and around the world,” the proclamation stated.
The
left has equated the day that has celebrated European discovery of the Americas
to white
supremacy.
Biden,
in his memorandum, sided with those who want to replace the federal holiday
that acknowledges the mapping of America by Christopher Columbus with one that
strictly celebrates Native
Americans.
“The
Federal Government has a solemn obligation to lift up and invest in the future
of Indigenous people and empower Tribal Nations to govern their own communities
and make their own decisions,” Biden’s memo said. “We must never forget
the centuries-long campaign of violence, displacement, assimilation, and terror
wrought upon Native communities and Tribal Nations throughout our country.”
“Today, we acknowledge the significant sacrifices made by Native
peoples to this country — and recognize their many ongoing contributions to our
Nation.
“On
Indigenous Peoples’ Day, we honor America’s first inhabitants and the Tribal
Nations that continue to thrive today. I encourage everyone to celebrate and
recognize the many Indigenous communities and cultures that make up our great country.”
Biden signed the memorandum by making no mention of Columbus,
who has been written off as a brutal tyrant.
Instead,
Biden asked the country only to honor Native Americans in what appears to be an
effort to appease the woke mob.
“(I) do hereby proclaim October 11, 2021, as Indigenous Peoples’
Day,” Biden concluded in his proclamation. “I call upon the people of the
United States to observe this day with appropriate ceremonies and activities. I
also direct that the flag of the United States be displayed on all public
buildings on the appointed day in honor of our diverse history and the
Indigenous peoples who contribute to shaping this Nation.“
Columbus Day has become a day of contention for the left for
several years.
Former President Donald
Trump last year used the second week in October to honor Columbus.
“Sadly, in recent years, radical activists have sought to
undermine Christopher Columbus’s legacy,” Trump wrote, according to USA
Today. “These extremists seek to replace discussion of his vast
contributions with talk of failings, his discoveries with atrocities and his
achievements with transgressions.”

Those who have not been vaccinated in Singapore will not be allowed to eat in hawker centers and coffee shops from 13 October 2021
Starting 13 October 2021, unvaccinated members of the public will not be able to eat in at hawker centres and coffee shops nor can they go to shopping malls and attractions.
The government's inter-departmental anti-epidemic working group held a press conference and said that epidemiological investigations have found that hawker centres and other dining establishments, retail stores and shopping malls are places frequently visited by many patients with confirmed covid, including those who have become severely ill and have not been vaccinated.
In order to protect those who have not been vaccinated and reduce the pressure on the medical system, the authorities have stipulated that from 13 October, only people who have been vaccinated in groups of two can go to hawker centers and coffee shops to eat together, just like other restaurants. Customers who are not eligible for dine-in can still pack food.
Similarly, starting 13 October 2021, only vaccinated persons in groups of up to two will be allowed to enter shopping malls, large single-family stores and attractions. Large single-family supermarkets are not subject to the new regulations.
In addition, children under the age of 12, recovered covid patients and those who have not been vaccinated who have presented a valid pre-event negative test certificate can still eat in, enter shopping malls, and large independent groups with no more than 2 people can enter buildings of shops and attractions.
